TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL ON A SLIGHT INCLINE, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS WHILE IN THE DRIVE POSITION. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO GET BETTER GAS MILEAGE. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER STATED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 30,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,100.
HAD TO PAY DEALERSHIP TO LUBE MY INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT DUE TO IT BEING DEFECTIVE. VEHICLE STARTS TO MAKE A POPPING NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHEN TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS. FILED CLAIM WITH GM BUT THEY WOULD NOT PAY. THEY CLAIM IT IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. THE SHAFT IS SEALED IT WAS NOT INTENDED TO BE LUBED SEVERAL TIMES. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE SPEEDOMETER BECAME INOPERABLE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE DEALER REPLACED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL.
SPEED SENSOR WENT BAD AT 45,000 MILES ON A 2005 IMPALA. REPAIRED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND IT CAUSED THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL TO BE IN-OPERABLE AND NEED TO REPLACE THAT. WIPERS ALSO PARK IN UPRIGHT POSITION. NO DEFECT CODES FOUND. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WATER COLLECTED IN THE TAIL LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE TAIL LIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR WAS LEAKING GAS UNDER NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED.
SINCE I BROUGHT MY 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA IN 2006, I HAVE ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY PASSLOCK SYSTEM. ONE MINUTE MY CAR IS DRIVING FINE. I PARK IT GO WHERE I NEED TO GO AND THEN COME BACK TO MY CAR TO LEAVE AND IT WON'T START. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN 2006 AND THEY SAID IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND CLAIMED THAT THEY FIXED IT. HOWEVER SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME REPEATEDLY. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER MANUAL IT SAYS " LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AT THE ON POSITION AND WAIT UNTIL THE SECURITY LIGHT IS NO LONGER FLASHING. ONCE IT STOPS, TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND START THE CAR." THIS NEVER WORKS FOR ME. SOMETIMES THE FLASHING LIGHT CONTINUE FOR THE WHOLE DAY, AND MY CAR IS JUST STUCK WHERE EVER THE INCIDENT (SECURITY LIGHT FLASHING) OCCURS. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNAL SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH BOARD AND NOTICED THE A/C BLOWER HAD SEIZED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND WITH POLICE HELP DISCONNECTED THE A/C BLOWER FUSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED OVER LOAD CURRENT TO THE BLOWER MOTOR, THE CONTROL MODULE AND THE 30 AMPS FUSE. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED THE BLOWER, CONTROL MODULE AND 30 AMP FUSE HOLDERS. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERN DUE TO THE LACK OF WARNING SIGNAL IN THE PRESENCE OF A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL FAILURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG INDICATOR CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL IN WARM WEATHER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
FOUND THE RIGHT REAR SEAT BELT CONNECTION TWISTED WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE CAR CHASSIS. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE MOUNTED IN THE SAME MANNER AS THE LEFT REAR SEAT BELT CONNECTION. *NM

CHIPPING AND CRACKING ON REAR ROTORS ON 2005 CHEVY IMPALA AFFECTING THE QUALITY OF ABS SYSTEM. *NM
AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. SENSOR IS BEING REPLACED, BUT NOW DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S THE WIRING UNDER THE SEAT. THE COST TO REPAIR IS $550! THIS IS A GM CERTIFIED VEHICLE WARRANTY WITH 39,000 MILES...CAR HAS 40,200 MILES. *JB
I OWN A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA. THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS STARTED GOING OUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO AROUND JULY OR AUG. 2006. AROUND 75,000 MILES WAS WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED AND I NOW HAVE 96,000 MILES. AT FIRST I WAS ABLE TO FIX IT BY SWITCHING BACK TO LOW BEAM AND THEN COULD SWITCH BACK TO HIGH BEAM AND THEY WOULD WORK. IN FEB. 2007 I HAD THE CAR INTO THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE BLOWER FAN AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING. I EXPLAINED THAT WHEN THE LIGHTS WERE ABOUT TO GO OUT I COULD HEAR A BUZZING IN THE SATELLITE RADIO, LIKE A SHORTING NOISE. FIRST I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT HAPPENED SO THEY COULD CHECK THE PROBLEM. THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THAT I DRIVE 40 MILES EACH WAY TO WORK AND IT WOULD HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRIP. WHEN I WENT BACK TO PICK UP THE CAR I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH AND IT WAS ABOUT A $500 PART. I DECIDED I COULD DEAL WITH THE SITUATION AND HAVE HELD OFF ON GETTING IT REPAIRED. LAST WEEK I GOT IN MY CAR TO GO HOME FROM WORK AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY HIGH BEAM LIGHTS AT ALL. YOU CAN MAKE THEM WORK IF YOU HOLD THE LEVER BACK. *CN
CLUNKING/BANGING NOISE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL, GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT AND SOMETIMES WHEN GOING STRAIGHT ON A ROUGH SURFACE. TAKEN TO DEALER THREE TIMES FOR REPAIR. THE FIRST AND SECOND TIME LUBE KIT WAS REPLACED ON STEERING SHAFT. THE THIRD TIME, OWNER WAS TOLD THAT THE WHOLE STEERING SHAFT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE PART WAS BEING REDESIGNED BY GM AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR SIX MONTHS OR MORE. OWNER WAS TOLD THAT CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IN THE MEANWHILE. OWNER WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A BULLETIN REGARDING THIS ISSUE. OWNER FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM. *NM
2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA BRAKES PULSATED MAKING STOPPING ROUGH. *KB ***NAR*** BOTH FRONT ROTORS WERE SCALING AND FLAKING. THE DEALER TURNED THE ROTOR WHICH REDUCED THE LIFE OF THE ROTORS. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE DEALER REPLACE THE ROTORS.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE WITHOUT WARNING WHILE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT. THE FIRE ORIGINATED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND BATTERY AREA, AS FLAMES WERE CLEARLY PRESENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND DETERMINED THE FIRE WAS ELECTRICAL IN NATURE. THE POLICE WERE ON THE SCENE AND A REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED DUE TO THE EXTREME FIRE DAMAGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED.
TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, ALL OF THE VEHICLE LIGHTS (INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR) FAILED TO TURN ON WHEN THE SUN WENT DOWN AND IT BECAME DARK. HE TRIED TO USE THE HIGH BEAM AND LOW BEAM LIGHTS TO TURN THEM ON MANUALLY. HE PULLED OVER AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE LIGHTS TURNED ON. IN APRIL 2010, WHILE DRIVING, THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF AGAIN. HE TRIED THE HIGH BEAM SWITCH AND THE LIGHTS TURNED BACK ON. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT WAS TOLD UNLESS HE COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THEY COULD DO NOTHING TO ASSIST HIM. HE HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER TO-DATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,947. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THERE WAS RESISTANT PRESSURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE REAR ROTORS WERE MACHINED HOWEVER THE PROBLEM PERSISTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE GAUGES AND INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
I HAVE HAD STALLING UPON ATTEMPTING TO START MY VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACT GM & WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING IS DEFECTIVE IN MY CAR. MY CAR HAS BEEN TO A GM SERVICE DEPT. FOR SERVICE MORE THAN 10 TIMES SINCE MAY 2006. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT RECOURSE DO I HAVE WITH REGARDS TO ADDRESSING MY VEHICLE'S DEFECT? *NM
THE SPEEDOMETER ON MY 05 IMPALA DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY. IT WOULD AT TIMES STOP WORKING, AND OTHERS, NOT READ THE CORRECT SPEED. THE SPEEDO JUT STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. IT WOULD DO THAT ALL THE TIME, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WOULD GET DAMP OR HUMID OUT. I CHECKED AND GM DID NOTHING TO RECALL IT. I HAD TO PAY $300 TO REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH IMPALAS. GM WON'T RECALL IT OR ANYTHING. IT CAN'T BE SAFE DRIVING A CAR AND NOT HAVING ANY IDEA HOW FAST YOU'RE GOING. I REALLY THINK GM SHOULD BE PRESSURED NOT RECALLING THIS. *TR
2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA, CAR IDLE IS ROUGH, DELAYED CRANK, MAY BE NECESSARY TO HOLD KEY IN START SEVERAL SECONDS UNTIL START. *NM
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, THERE WAS AN UNUSUAL NOISE HEARD AND AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE AND TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE MECHANIC ADVISED REPLACING THE ROTORS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE POTENTIALLY WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FACT THAT HE RESIDED IN A SALT BELT STATE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE PRIOR REPAIR PERFORMED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 20,000. TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILED ON MY VEHICLE. THE FAILURE TURNED OFF MY ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM AND MY TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM AT TWO INOPPORTUNE TIMES. THIS FAILURE HAS TWICE IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS. IT FIRST OCCURRED AT THE END OF DECEMBER DURING A SNOW STORM. THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED A FEW WEEKS AGO WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A RAIN AND HAIL STORM. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED. THE DEALER REPLACED A FAULTY SPEED SENSOR. MY CAR IS ABOUT A YEAR OLD AND TWO SPEED SENSOR HAVE ALREADY FAILED. I'M UPSET AT THE FACT THAT WE PURCHASED THE CAR BASED ON ITS SAFETY FEATURES AND TWICE NOW THEY HAVE FAILED, AS I MENTIONED EARLIER, AT THE MOST INOPPORTUNE MOMENTS, WHERE WE WERE RELYING HEAVILY ON SAID SAFETY FEATURES. *NM
ON 3/30/2006 AT 1715 HRS A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA POLICE CAR WAS TRAVELING ON A GRAVEL ROAD IN RURAL OGLE COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEN BOTH FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THE CAR NEVER MADE CONTACT WITH ANYTHING, THERE ARE AT LEAST 30 PICTURES TO THE CAR AND THE ROADWAY. SINCE THE 30TH I PERSONALLY HAVE CALLED GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT MY CONCERNS INVOLVING THE REST OF MY 2005 SQUAD CARS, I'VE CALLED EVERY DAY SINCE THE 30TH, WITH NO RESPONSE, I'M CONCERNED THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM THAT GM IS AVOIDING THE INCIDENT, I NEED SOME HELP IN GETTING THIS RESOLVED. *NM
WE PURCHASED A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA FROM A DEALER ON MARCH 16, 2006. ON MARCH 21, 2006, WE WERE TRAVELING DOWN A 2 LANE HIGHWAY AT 45 MPH. THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF US STOPPED SUDDENLY. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND HEARD A LOUD POP. THE BRAKE PEDDLE THEN WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HIT THE VAN IN FRONT OF ME TWICE BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO TURN DOWN A SIDE STREET AND LET THE CAR COAST TO A STOP. OUR INSURANCE ADJUSTER CAME OUT THE NEXT MORNING AND TOOK PICTURES. THE CAR WAS SENT TO A BODY SHOP TO BE TORN DOWN. GM WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES. THE BODY SHOP WAS TOLD NOT TO TOUCH THE CAR UNTIL GM COULD SEND AN INSPECTOR TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT. THE INSPECTOR FINALLY CAME OUT AND RETRIEVED THE INFORMATION FROM THE BLACK BOX AND TOOK PICTURES OF THE BRAKE LINKAGE SYSTEM. HE ASKED IF WE HAD FOUND ANY PARTS IN THE FLOOR UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN AFTER THE ACCIDENT. WE TOLD HIM NO. GM THEN TOOK 5 MONTHS TO FINISH THEIR INVESTIGATION. WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO ALLOW ANYONE TO TOUCH THE VEHICLE UNTIL THEY WERE DONE. THEY CAME BACK TO US AND TOLD US THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE AND THAT THE BRAKES HAD BEEN TAMPERED WITH. WE WERE ALL SET TO GO AFTER THE DEALER WHEN MY HUSBAND DECIDED TO LOOK AT THE BRAKES HIMSELF. WHEN HE DID, HE FOUND THE "MISSING" PART THE INSPECTOR HAD ASKED ABOUT. THE PART WAS VISIBLY BROKEN. GM HAS LAUGHINGLY OFFERED US $2,000.00 FOR THIS INCIDENT. MY HUSBAND AND I SUSTAINED MORE THAN $2,000.00 IN MEDICAL BILLS. THIS IS A COMPLETE JOKE. IN ADDITION TO THE BRAKE FAILURE, NEITHER ONE OF OUR AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EVEN THOUGH WE HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE STRAIGHT ON TWICE. THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON THIS BRAKE PART OR AIR BAGS. *NM
THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO START THEREFORE YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE KEY SEVERAL SECONDS TO START. THE CAR HAS A ROUGH IDLE. ONLY HAD THE CAR THREE MONTH AND HAVE RETURN IT ABOUT 10 TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUES. I WAS TOLD THAT IT'S NORMAL FOR IT TO RUN THAT WAY. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE GRAND AM ARE THE SAME WAY WITH THE SAME ENGINE BY THE DEALER. *SC *JB
AT 60000 VEHICLE HAD A TRANSMISSION SLIP. RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION INSTALLED UNDER EXTENDED CAR WARRANTY. AT 120000 VEHICLE HAD A TRANSMISSION SLIP. WORN INTERNAL TRANSMISSION GEARS REPLACED UNDER EXTENDED CAR WARRANTY. AT 160000 VEHICLE HAD A TRANSMISSION SLIP. RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION INSTALLED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. SO AS YOU CAN CLEARLY DO THE MATH THE FIRST TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 60,000, THE SECOND AT 120,000 AND THE THIRD AT 160,000. NOW AT 180,000 IN THE MONTH OF JUNE 2013 THE TRANS IS SLIPPING AGAIN BUT I HAVE YET TO HAVE THE FOURTH INCIDENT EVALUATED.

REAR WINDOW MOLDING LOOSE WILL NOT STAY IN TACT AFTER REPAIR, DELAYED CRANK-HOLD KEY IN IGNITION FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE STARTING THEN AT TIMES IT WOBBLES THEN CUTS OFF,ELECTRICAL SHOCKING, GOING OVER HUMPS OR TURNING THERE IS CLUNNKING NOISE, PASSENGER SIDE FEELS A LIGHTER WEIGHT WHEN OPERATING,INTERMITTENT CHUGGLE OR HESISTANT WHEN IN LIGHT ACCELERATION,ON STAR SYSTEM COMES ON AUTOMATICALLY WHEN KEY IN IGNITION AND THE PUSH IS NOT PUSHED TO ACTIVATE,CAR ONLY HAD 5600 MILES AT TIME OF PURCHASE AND NOW HAS 11300 ONLY HAD THE FOR 5 1/2 MONTHS,ENGINE MAKE A WHIRLING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM LIGHT START, TRANSMISSIONS IS NOW STARTING TO HESITATE AS IF IT SHIFTING, WHEN A/C IS ON AND SITTING IN VEHICLE THE CAR MUMBLES AND STOPS WHEN A/C IS TURNED OFF. I'VE SAVED ALLM PAPER WORK FROM SERVICES PERFORMED WHEN PROBLEMS OCCURED AND WILL BE TAKING THE CAR BACK IN AGAIN MON 7-24-06.ALSO HAVE A REFERENCE NUMBER ON FILE WITH GMC CONCERNING THESE DEFECTS.ON STAR MAILED ME A NOTICE CONCERNING SYSTEM ALERT THIS WEEK. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA BASE MODEL. HAD ABOUT 15 OR MORE FAILURES ON THE ASPECT OF DELAYED CRANKING.DEALER STILL CANT SOLVE THE ISSUE TO KEEP ME FROM HAVING TO REPEATEDLY TAKING THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION AND SERVICE AS WELL AS RESOLUTION. TWO SEPARATE DEALERS INFORMED ME THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT HAVE THE PARTS THAT MY CAR HAD. REPAIRING DEALER IS NOW PINGING ME WITH A MAJOR REPAIR BILL TO REPAIR THE COMPONENT. I PURCHASED A VEHICLE FROM BILL WINK CHEVORLET UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT IT WAS A QUALITY USED VEHICLE. AS SOON AS I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT, I NOTICED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE WAY THE VEHICLE VEERED AND STOPPED. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS OK. I REPEATED THIS SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. FINALLY I HAD ENOUGH OF THIS CAR AND ATTEMPTED TO TRADE IT BACK IN TO THE DEALER WHO OFFERED ME VERY LITTLE FOR THE VEHICLE. SO I WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND WAS AT THAT POINT TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS ONCE AND ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR AND HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN AND I DON'T NOT WANT THIS CAR IF IT HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF TIMES AND THEY CONTINUED TO TELL HER THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY IMPALA. ABOUT 2-3 TIMES WEEKLY, MY CAR WILL NOT START PROPERLY. I TURN THE KEY TO CRANK THE VEHICLE, AND IT TURNS OVER WITHOUT FIRING UP. SOMETIMES IT MAY DO THIS ONE TIME, AT OTHERS IT MAY DO IT 4-5 TIMES. IT IS VERY IRRITATING, AND SOUNDS HORRIBLE. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS DAMAGING TO MY VEHICLE IN ANY WAY OR NOT. THIS IS RENTAL CAR FROM ALAMO. CAR WAS PARKED AND ENGINE WAS STOPPED ON A LITTLE INCLINED ROADSIDE. ALL PEOPLE EXITED CAR. CAR WAS SUDDENLY MOVED BACKWARDS AND I HAD TO JUMP IN TO THE CAR AND APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKE. CAR WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. RIGHT SIDE DOOR HIT ROAD SIGN AND CAR DAMAGED. DT: THE WAY THAT THE WINDOW SWITCH IS DESIGNED IT CAN EASILY SHUT ON A CHILD'S BODY OR BODY PART. THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SIX MONTHS AGO ON TV. THIS WAS A RENTAL VEHICLE FOR A TRIP FOR VACATION.*AK WHEN THE CONSUMERS SON LEANED HIS HEAD OUT THE WINDOW, HIS ELBOW HIT THE SWITCH, AND THE WINDOW BEGAN TO GO UP. THE CONSUMER SUGGESTED THAT A DIFFERENT TYPE OF SWITCH BE INSTALLED, THE TYPE THAT ONE WOULD HAVE TO PULL IN ORDER TO CLOSE THE WINDOW. *JB

DEALER 'FIXED' PROBLEM BY DRILLING HOLES IN TAILLIGHTS TO DRAIN, BUT TRUNK STILL FILLS. DEALER REMOVED PLUG FROM TRUNK. TRUNK IS FULL OF MOLD. CONTACTED GMC SEVERAL TIMES, THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. SMELLS REALLY BAD IN SUMMER MONTHS. CANNOT INSERT KEY IN LOCK, PANEL IS ON CROOKED.
