UPON ENTERING MY VEHICLE AND WAITING FOR THE ENGINE TO WARM UP AS IT WAS AROUND -05 DEGREES F THERE WERE NO ISSUES TO BE HAD. ABOUT 15 SECONDS AFTER LEAVING MY PARKING SPOT AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT AND 70 FEET LATER MY ENGINE STARTED FEELING WEIRD, HEARD A CHIME AND SAW MY DASHBOARD WITH THE WORDING "ENGINE POWER REDUCED." NOT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS AND KNOWING I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE CONTINUED DRIVING HOME. 4 DAYS PASS NO ISSUE THEN YESTERDAY WHEN IT WAS 27 DEGREES F OUTSIDE AGAIN HAD THE CAR WARM UP AND ABOUT SAME TIME FRAME AND SAME DISTANCE LATER THE SAME SERIES OF EVENTS OCCURRED BUT THIS TIME THE RPM WAS BOUNCING BETWEEN 700 AND 1100 WHEN I WAS MOVING IN IDLE. PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE HOOD TO INSPECT (CAR WAS SHAKING A LOT AT THIS POINT) AND THE ENGINE IS SHAKING AS MUCH AS IT COULD WHILE STILL IN ITS RESTRAINTS, UPON REVVING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE LEVELED OUT BUT WITH THE FOOT OFF THE GAS AGAIN THE SHAKING STARTED AGAIN. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE A VEHICLE THAT I NEED FOR MY COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK IS PARKED. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING NOT KNOWING WHAT CAN HAPPEN. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A RE-MANUFACTURED POWER STEERING PUMP WITH RESERVOIR AND THE COOLER HOSE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. WAS DRIVING AND CAR JUST LOST POWER AND CUT OFF. STARTED BACK UP AND COULDN'T GO OVER 5MPH. *TR
JUST PURCHASED ON 02/02/2015 THE CAR COMES WITH REMOTE START SO CLEANED THE ICY SNOW OFF THE CAR AND WINDOWS. GOT INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE PUT ON MY SEATBELT THE CAR HAD SHUT OFF AFTER WARMING UP.SO I PUT THE KEY IN AND STARTED THE CAR PUSHED THE THE SPRAY BUTTON. THE PASSENGER SIDE WORKED THE DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT.AFTER GOING ONLINE I FOUND OUT PAGE AFTER PAGE OF COMPLAINT'S WHY NO RECALL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THEY SAY IT COST $300.00 TO 600.00 EACH SIDE GM MADE THE PROBLEM THEY SHOULD BAY TO FIX IT. *TR

I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BACK TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR APPOINTMENT. I WAITED 3 WEEKS AND GOT NO CALL. DECEMBER 30, 2014 @ 11:30 A.M. I WAS TOLD BY '[XXX]' IN SVC. DEPT. THAT HE WOULD CALL ME BACK IN 15 MIN. I WAITED OVER AN HOUR. I CALLED THEM TO ASK WHY NO CALL BACK. I GOT A RECORDING. I CALLED AGAIN AND TOLD RECEPTIONIST I WANTED TO SPEAK TO SVC. MANAGER. I GOT A RECORDING. MIDWAY CHEVROLET WILL NOT HELP THE RECALL CUSTOMER. MIDWAY CHEVROLET DID NOT CO-OPERATE. I CALLED SANDS CHEVROLET @5418 MW GRAND AVE. GLENDALE, AZ. HAD PURCHASED VEHICLE FROM DEALER IN ASHLAND VA BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2014. HAD NO CONCERNS ABOUT THE VEHICLE UNTIL FIRST TRIP NOT DRIVING VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND UPON RETURN VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. HAD JUMPED STARTED VEHICLE AND GOT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHICH WAS ON FOR THREE DAYS THEN CUT OFF. IN FEBRUARY 2015 HAD NOT DRIVEN VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEK PERIOD AND UPON RETURN VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN. CHECKED BATTERY AND HAD REPLACED ALONG WITH CLEANING POSITIVE BATTERY POST FOR CORROSION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON FOR TWO TO THREE DAYS THEN CUT OFF - CHECK CODE AT FIRESTONE DEALERSHIP SHOWED CODE P2135 - DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DETERMINE WHERE POSSIBLE POWER DRAINAGE COULD BE COMING FROM AND RECOMMENDED TO TAKE VEHICLE TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM TEST FOR POWER DRAINAGE. AS LONG AS THE VEHICLE IS STARTED/USED WITHOUT PROLONGED PERIOD OF INACTIVITY, VEHICLE OPERATION FOR THIS MODEL YEAR IS ACCEPTABLE.
MY VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY RECALL FOR A IGNITION PROBLEM WHICH WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE KEY TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE ON POSITION AND CAUSE LOSS OF ENGINE PWER, NO STEERING AND NO BRAKING. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, I SEARCHED MY VIN NUMBER AND FOUND THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. GENERAL MOTORS FAILED TO NOTIFY ME OF THIS DEADLY RISK IN MY VEHICLE. MY ELECTORAL SYSTEM AND STARTER HAS GONE OUT ON ME MANY TIMES THIS WOULD BE THE 3RD TIME IN THE LAST YEAR IV HAD TO REPAIR IT. ON MY 2006 CHEVY IMPALA. *TR
THE GM "FIX" FOR THE IGNITION ISSUE IS TO REPLACE KEYS SO THAT NOTHING CAN BE ATTACHED TO THE KEY, INCLUDING NOT EVEN THE FOB, THE "FIX" IS NOT TO REPLACE THE FAULTY PART TO THE IGNITION. I'VE HAD MY CAR SINCE 2006 AND DRIVEN IT ALL THIS TIME WITH A LOT OF OTHER KEYS AND THE FOB ATTACHED. DURING THAT TIME I HAVE HAD NO TROUBLE WITH THE IGNITION. I THINK THERE MAY BE AN ENGINEERING OVERSIGHT: IT STANDS TO REASON THAT HAVING USED THE KEY WITH THE WEIGHT ATTACHED FOR 8 YEARS PROBABLY WOULD HAVE WORN THE INTERNAL CONNECTIONS BASED ON THE WEIGHT OF THE INSERTED KEY. IT ALSO SEEMS REASONABLE, THAT NOW HAVING A KEY THAT IS LIGHT WEIGHT BEING INSERTED INTO THE SAME CHAMBER AS THE HEAVILY WEIGHTED KEY, WILL MEAN THAT THE NEW KEY WON'T FIT OR MAKE THE PROPER CONNECTION IN THE IGNITION BECAUSE THE NEW KEY WILL NOT BE AS HEAVY, AND THEREFORE THE "FIX" IS REALLY CREATING A NEW PROBLEM. WHY WOULDN'T THE WHOLE IGNITION APPARATUS HAVING TO DO WITH THE KEY BE REPLACED AS WELL AS KEYS????? I THINK THIS IS A BIG OVERSIGHT, AND A BIG PROBLEM. ESPECIALLY SINCE ALL THE TESTIMONY I HEARD OR READ ABOUT THIS ISSUE FROM GM IS THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE "MIS-SIZED PART" --- I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN FROM MY DEALER THAT IT IS THE KEYS THAT ARE BEING REPLACED, AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE THE FOBS ATTACHED. THIS IS SURELY DECEPTION, AND IF THE "FIX" HAS NOT BEEN TESTED ON EVERY CAR, HOW CAN WE TRUST THAT THE NEW KEYS WILL WORK WITH THE BY NOW WORN INTERNAL AND INCORRECT PART? THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM. FIRST OF ALL, I USE MY CAR TO TRAVEL BACK AND FORTH FROM SCHOOL. I HAVE NOTICED SINCE I CAME HOME, STOPPING AT STOP LIGHTS, MY CAR WOULD CUT OFF AND THEN CUT BACK ON. ALSO, MY RADIO HAS CHANGED STATIONS BY ITSELF. THEN, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. THE LETTER REPEATS HOW THE REPAIRS WILL BE PERFORMED FOR ME AT NO CHARGE... WHOOPIE ITS YOUR MISTAKE I SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS TYPE OF THING. AND SO WHAT YOU REPAIR WHAT YOU DIDNT GET RIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE, WHAT ABOUT THE GAS I HAVE TO PUT IN TO DRIVE OVER 50 MILES AWAY TO GET TO A GM DEALER? WHAT ABOUT THE DAYS I MISS FROM WORK AND/OR MY COLLEGE CLASSES? OH YOU'RE SORRY FOR MY INCONVENIENCE? WHAT GOOD DOES YOUR SORRY DO FOR ME?
