The contact owned a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH while in cruise control, a group of birds flew out from under a ditch which caused the contact to swerve and lose control of the vehicle. As a result of the incident, the contact crashed into the ditch. The air bags did not deploy upon impact which caused the contact's face to hit the steering wheel. The contact was later transported to the hospital via an ambulance where she was treated for a concussion. Additionally, the contact suffered several cuts and bruises to her face with additional bruising to her left leg and hip. A police report was filed; however, the report was unavailable. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was deemed totaled. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000. The VIN was not available.
This is 1 of 2 car seats that we have, both with the same issue. The pull strap that is used to tighten the shoulder straps to secure the child in appropriately is not functioning properly. You can not pull the shoulder straps to the tightness that is required for the child to be secured properly. This is a huge safety risk to my children when we are not able to tighten them correctly. I had the car seat looked at by CPST [XXX XXX] with the City of Waite Park, and there is no user error, the straps aren't pinched anywhere. She herself was having a operating the car seat and advised us to stop using it and get it replaced. I have reached out to Evenflo and they are unwilling to fix the issue. They tell me that the car seat is "far out warranty so they cannot assist me further with the seat." I am in disbelief that they are unwilling to replace the defective seats. I do have a video of Alicia trying to tighten the straps and it shows her struggling to accomplish that. I am unable to attach them here. Starfire Solarus AS All-Season 225/60R16 98H- Car started shaking violently while I was driving it- seemed to be coming from rear tire. Limped it home, removed driver side rear tire, and noticed substantial bulge where tread was separating. Replaced tire with another brand. Several months later, same thing happened, and removed the remaining Starfire Solarus AS All-Season 225/60R16 98H tire, the passenger side rear tire, and noticed same defect. I bought both tires Mar 15, 2021 on Amazon, but have driven car very little. Unfortunately the shop that installed them didn't note mileage on receipt but the tread looks brand new (other than the defect). Looked at amazon and noticed other customers reporting the same defect! [XXX] I think these tires are very dangerous and are going to cause somebody to get injured or worse, especially since both tires are affected by defects and other consumers are reporting the exact same issue on amazon reviews. Dash cover crumbled and falling apart. Even though I have kept it cool and covered with a condition. It's falling down into my car fan for heating and cooling
The key gets stuck and I can't remove the key; I can't take the key out and then the battery drains and car is dead.
The engine electric brakes all shut down steering wheel locked up and my daughter smashed into telephone pole on August 31 2023. Airbags didn't deploy for front and side airbags were deflated no air.no warning lights prior that I'm aware of. My daughter was injured PCS and cervical sprain
When I turn the ignition key and start my car engine, I then shift the automatic transmission into “drive”, but there is no forward acceleration power, and I have no idea why this is.

The gas petal sensor is reading a code P2138 (Accelerator Petal Position Sensors 1-2 not plausible). My father has changed the petal not once but twice and erased the code but it keeps coming back. Also getting a p0172 code as well. A Cheverolet dealership has been called and the representative rushed me off phone saying there was not recall for the car. Car was taken to an Autozone and the codes were still coming up. Engine warning light goes off and on every 3 to 4 days after being cleared, then will get a reduced engine power message will appear. Messages warning lights and symptoms started 3 months ago.
While driving at highway speeds the car will act up and the engine will shut off, I get the message on the odometer display that reads, Engine power is reduced, service throttle, starter disabled. This is not a good thing to have happen while driving.
On these cars the blend doors open when your driving and fogs windows to were you can't see mostly in the winter or colder temperatures. They start to click because of the bad design of them and sometimes the clicking goes away and sometimes it doesnt and the safety risk is when the doors malfunction it fogs windows and you can't see. Car was taking to auto shop and they confirm that's the problem and the parts for the car are under $100 but over $1200 for labor
The back driver’s side door of my 2008 Impala is not locked, but it cannot be opened. I’ve read online that this happens on other Impalas. Because this is a major safety issue, as well as a major inconvenience, these vehicles should be recalled and repaired at no cost to the owners. People should be able to enter and exit through all doors of a vehicle, especially during an emergency. Because of this defect, Impalas should be recalled and repaired at no cost to the owner.
The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-40 MPH, the vehicle was vibrating and jumping. The contact drove to his brother's residence to inspect the vehicle. The contact removed the front passenger’s side tire and wheel and upon removing the hub, the engine moved. The contact was self-diagnosed that the front lower control arm was fractured. The contact was able to drive to his residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 218,000.
Q-What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? A-Suspension and steering effective. Any time I drive and make turns it makes like a clunking noise. You can actually feel it in the floor board. It's worse when you are driving down a not so smooth road. You can look at it as soon as possible. Q-How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? A-Control arm might SNAP causing you to lose control of my vehicle and crash into other drivers. Q-Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? A-Firestone has inspected my car. Q-Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? A-No my vehicle has not. Q-Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? A-No warning signs of any kind. This started within the last month or two.
Heating and air conditioning actuators and/or blen door getting stuck so the air will not switch from cold to hot or hot to cold without pulling the glove box out and manually turning them by hand. Heater will blow hot air and then randomly switch to cold air. When it's cold outside, I cannot defrost my windows cause it gets stuck on cold air which impairs visibility.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH AND DRIVING OVER A POTHOLE, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER, STALLED, AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE DASH LIT UP SERVICE TRACTION SYSTEM AND ENGINE POWER REDUCED. I WAS CURRENTLY USING CRUISE CONTROL SO IT SHOCKED ME WHEN MY CAR WENT FROM 75 TO 40 QUICK. I WAS IN FIVE O'CLOCK TRAFFIC AND ALMOST REAR ENDED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. I'M PLANNING ON GETTING IT LOOKED AT.

POWER STEERING PUMP JUST STARTED GROWLING WHEN MOVING THE STEERING. IT IS ALSO A LITTLE HARDER TO TURN. IN MOTION. WHEN EVER THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED.
WHILE WIFE WAS DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEED CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE MANY TIMES OVER LAST FEW MONTHS CAUSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL SENSOR CODES.WE HAVE SINCE CHANGED THIS PEDAL SENSOR 6 TIMES AND SAME ISSUE AND CODES POP UP. WE ALSO CHANGED THROTTLE BODY W SENSOR AND CONNECTOR PIGTAIL.I THINK THERE IS CORROSION IN ECM AND ALL THESE ITEMS HAVE FAILED. THESE ITEMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AS MANUFACTURER DEFECTS IN MY OPINION.WE ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS SAME CODES AND IM NOT THE ONLY ONE!

WHEN FIRST PURCHASED I HAD TO CHANGE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP I WAS TOLD THEY GET A LOT OF PEOPLE W IMPALAS SAME AS MY YEAR 2008 THAT NEEDED TO HAVE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CHANGED EVERY SO OFTEN BECAUSE THEY WOULD GO OUT AND IT WOULD CAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO GO ON AND OFF BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS SENDING THE WRONG SIGNALS.I WOULD DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND STREET IT WOULD CAUSE REDUCED ENGINE TO COME ON AND SLOW MY CAR DOWN ALMOST LEADING INTO ACCIDENTS BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. IT WOULD COME AND GO ON AS IT WANTED. THE ELECTRICAL PART OF THE CAR IS SOMETHING IN THE CAR CONTINUES TO DRAIN MY BATTERY. I'VE GOTTEN A NEW BATTERY AND IT STILL DRAINS CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO GET IT RECHARGED. THE SUSPENSION I WAS ALSO TOLD FOR THE YEAR OF MY CAR IS BAD. WHEN PURCHASED I FOUND OUT THAT AGAIN PEOPLE THAT PURCHASED THESE YEARS OF VEHICLES HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CONTROL ARMS AND THAT I NOW HAVE TO TAKE IT TO GET FIXED BECAUSE ONE HIT TO A POT HOLE CAN CAUSE THE UNDER PART OF THE CAR TO BREAK AND CAUSE A BAD ACCIDENT. I DID NOT KNOW IMPALAS HAD THIS MANY PROBLEMS. I SEEN THE POLICE IMPALAS FOR 2008 WERE RECALLED FOR SUSPENSION, BUT THEY ALL SEEM TO SHARE THIS COMMON PROBLEM AS WELL AS THE ACTUATOR CONTINUOUSLY CLICKING. IT SEEMS TO BE AN EASY FIX, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FIX SOMETHING THAT IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE IMPALAS.
RANDOMLY I RECEIVE THE MESSAGE "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL - ENGINE POWER REDUCED" - THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON. IT HAPPENS ON NICE DAYS, RAINY DAYS, WHETHER OR NOT I AM GOING UPHILL, DOWNHILL OR ON FLAT SURFACES. ON AT LEAST ONE OCCASION WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I HAD TO COAST FROM LANE 2 TO THE SHOULDER. AFTER 20 MINUTES, IT RESTARTED. *TR
THIS COOLANT CROSSOVER PIPE GASKET LEAK HAS BEEN A REPEATED AND MULTIPLE VEHICLE PROBLEM WITH THE 3.9L AND 3.5L AND GM ONLY CAME UP WITH 2 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS; THE LAST ONE WAS #07-06-02-006E: COOLANT LEAKING FROM ENGINE (REPLACE COOLANT CROSSOVER PIPE GASKETS) - (MAR 5, 2012). HOWEVER, THE NEW GASKET DESIGN PRESUMABLY REPAIRED THE LEAK. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE DISCUSSED ON SEVERAL WEB SITES WITH ALL COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME UNRESOLVED ISSUE. MY 2008 IMPALA WITH THE 3.9L V-6 HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE FOLLOWING DATES, EACH TIME I WAS ASSURED IT WAS SATISFACTORILY REPAIRED: 02/09/2019 ' DIY DUE TO DEALERSHIP COST. REPAIRED PER GM TSB/GM TECHNICAL SERVICE MANUAL. 11/30/2016 ' DEALERSHIP. 03/10/2014 ' DEALERSHIP. 01/11/2013 ' DEALERSHIP. AND NOW, IT'S LEAKING AGAIN! I CHATTED WITH CHEVROLET ONLINE ON 10 APR 2020 AND CECIL SAID THAT WARRANTY HAD REPAIRED IT ONCE, BUT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN AND STILL CONTINUES. GM WOULD NO LONGER REPAIR THE LEAK. THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD: CECIL AT 15:40, APR 10, 2020: UNFORTUNATELY, ONCE THE DECISION IS FINAL THAT IT CANNOT BE CHANGED ANYMORE. BUT HERE IS WHAT WE SUGGEST, YOU CAN TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED GM DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND IT MIGHT THE SAME SYMPTOM BUT DIFFERENT ROOT CAUSE. HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP IS THE ONE WHO TOLD ME THAT IT COULD NO LONGER BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY! THIS ISSUE IS SOMETHING GM SHOULD HAVE LONG RESOLVED WITH A BETTER SOLUTION. THIS LEAK IS A CONTINUAL PROBLEM AND GM DOESN'T OFFER ANY BETTER REPAIR OPTIONS AND WILL NOT REPAIR THE LEAK AGAIN.
THE STABILITRAK IS MAKING THE CAR SHAKE AND ACT CRAZY. I'M BARELY IN CONTROL OF THE CAR. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF MORE PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR REDUCES SPEED BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. ENGINE POWER REDUCED THROTTLE DISABLED - CAR SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65
At a complete stop, press the gas to go and the car will not go. Kind of like its struggling to catch gear and then all of a sudden it with catch jerk hard. That's an issue for a few reasons. If you have to pull out for somewhere that traffic doesn't stop or yield, and the car is barley rolling trying to catch gear, there's the risk of getting hit. When the gear catches, and the jerk happened it's not a small jerk, i feel it's a safety hassard to small children. When my son was 4 months old it started and it jerked him pretty hard. My mother in law is the original owner and had it checked several times with no resolution.

ON INTERSTATE DRIVING APPROX. 60 MPH SUDDENLY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND REDUCE ENGINE SPEED LIGHT ON AND CAR DROPPED DRASTICALLY DOWN TO LITERALLY NO POWER. BARELY HAD TIME TO GET ON SHOULDER WITHOUT CAUSING ACCIDENT. WENT TO LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE THROTTLE PEDDLE.
2008 CHEV IMPALA TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND THEN ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. ACCELERATION AND FUEL MILEAGE DROP SIGNIFICANTLY. REOCCURS EVERY SO OFTEN WHILE DRIVING WHICH AFFECTS ABILITY TO MAINTAIN GOOD CONTROL.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY MY CAR WILL REDUCE ENGINE SPEED IT WILL DROP FROM 65MPH TO 20MPH SOMETIMES IT SHUTS CLEAR DOWN . I HAVE SO FAR ALMOST BEEN IN TWO COLLISIONS BECAUSE OF THIS.
REAR DOOR LOCKS, DEFROST, TRUNK LID STOPPED WORKING. NOTICED SMOKE ON MY PASSENGER SIDE WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS SHOWN THAT IT MELTED THE WIRES TOGETHER AND MELTED THE REAR BODY HARNESS CONNECTOR. ( I KEPT THE PART IF NEEDED) THIS IS A DANGER TO DRIVERS. THE FIRE CAN START AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING! I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. AFTER RESEARCHING I SEE THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OF THESE CARS.
ABS OR AIRBAG FAILURE DASH LIGHT CAME ON AND READ THAT THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE THAT NEEDS FACTORY SERVICE TO AVOID BODILY INJURIES OR DEATH. TRANSMISSION ISSUES CAUSING ERRATICALLY SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING OR TAKING OFF FROM A STOP

REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT COMES ON INTERMINTENTLY WHILE DRIVING HAD THE THROTTLE BODY AND ACCELERATOR PEDAL REPLCAED TWICE AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 75000 MILES ON IT. STILL THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT COMES ON. JUST YESTERDAY I WAS UNABLE TO START MY CAR. THROTTLE PROBLEMS LIGHT CAME ON IN WINDOW
BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
MY CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OF 45 MPH. WEATHER WAS ABOUT 90 DEGREES F.. MESSAGE ON DASH WAS "STARTING DISABLED SERVICE THROTTLE." I AM LUCKY NOT TO HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED. AFTER PUSHING IT TO A SIDE STREET, IT STARTED AGAIN AND SHOWED "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND WENT ABOUT 20 MPH. I SAW ONLINE THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY CHEVROLETS. WHY NO RECALL? SO DANGEROUS. REPAIR IS ESTIMATED AT $750.
AS I WAS DRIVING, AROUND 30 MPH, THE WARNING DISPLAYS "REDUCED ENGINE SPEED" AND THE CAR WILL BARELY REACH 45 MPH. TWICE IN 5 YEARS, WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THE VEHICLE MAY BE INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD EITHER HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIR BAGS OR REPLACE THE WIRING IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO CHECK IF THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT CALLED NHTSA AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO ACTIVE RECALLS ON HIS VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED THAT ALL THE SEAT BELTS BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY @ 60 MPH WHEN ENGINE DIES WITH NO WARNING. DASH SHOWS FOLLOWING MESSAGES: "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" "SERIVCE TRACTION CONTROL" "SERVICE STABILITRAX" POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES STOP WORKING. WHEN CAR KEY IS TURNED OFF AND CHECK ENGINE CODES ARE CLEARED, THE CAR STARTS UP FINE AND CONTINUES TO RUN SMOOTHLY. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY STOP THE CAR (ALBEIT ON THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY), TURN IT OFF, CLEAR THE CODES, AND START IT BACK UP TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED IN JANUARY 2018. AFTER THIS I TOOK IT TO A CHEVY DEALER. THEY SAID CAR WAS COVERED UNDER "WARRANTY" FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. ONE MONTH LATER SAME PROBLEM KEEPS OCCURRING. CAR RUNS FINE BUT THESE MESSAGES APPEAR ABOUT ONCE A MONTH. TYPICALLY THE ENGINE STAYS ON AND IS ONLY LIMITED IN POWER. HOWEVER, OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL DIE COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING, EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. HAD CAR BROUGHT TO CHEVY DEALER. THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT FIX THE PROBLEM UNLESS IT IS CURRENTLY OCCURRING WITH THE CAR. THEY RECOMMENDED I TAKE THE CAR AND BRING IT BACK TO THEM WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN. HOWEVER, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR KNOWING THE ENGINE COULD JUST SHUT DOWN AT ANY MOMENT AND THE CHEVY SPECIALIST THEMSELVES DO NOT SEEM TO EVEN HAVE A CLUE ABOUT WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REDUCE POWER INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY, THROTTLE BODY SENSOR, AND FUEL PEDAL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FIVE TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 205,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN DRIVING IT STATED NOT TO PICK UP SPEED THEN INBOXES I COULDN'T GO ANYMORE I TURN IT OFF THEN BK ON AND I PUT IT ON DRIVE. AND IT WENT INTO REVERSE SO I TURNED IT OFF WAITED A LITTLE AND THEN TIERED IT BACK ON AND IT PICKED UP A LITTLE SPEED (5MPH) AND I KEPT HAVING TO TURN IT OFF N ON TILL I MADE IT HOME. AFTER I HAVEN'T DROVE IT. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THAT IT HAPPENED ON MY BACK RODE TO MY APT. (LESS CARS)
