AFTER GETTING NEW BRAKES PUT ON MY CAR, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WOULD COME ON FOR DIFFERENT TIRES. IT WAS RANDOM AND AFTER CHECKING THE TIRE PRESSURE THEY WERE ALL FINE. THE LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME AND WHEN I CHECK MY TIRE PRESSURE ON THE DASH PANEL THEY ALL FOUR READ 0 TIRE PRESSURE. I HAVE TO CHECK THEM MANUALLY WHICH SOUNDS PETTY BUT I PAID FOR THIS OPTION I SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE IT. MY REMOTE CAR STARTER DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE THIS ERROR MESSAGE IS ON. I'VE HAD IT RESET AND IT COMES RIGHT BACK ON. I WAD TOLD THE WHEEL SENSORS WERE BROKE WHEN GETTING THE BRAKES FIXED AND THAT THEY COST AROUND $100 EACH. THERE HAS TO BE SOME WAY TO MAKE THESE SO THEY DON'T GET BROKEN WHILE GETTING NORMAL MAINTENANCE DONE SO I NOW HAVE A HUGE ADDITIONAL COST THAT FAR EXCEEDS THE COST OF GETTING THE BRAKES. *TR
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY, BUT GOES OUT IN COLD WEATHER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR FAILED AND CALLED THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN TO 40 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE SENDING UNIT WAS REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PERFORM NORMALLY. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,506. *TR

THE AIRBAG NEEDS SERVICING LIGHT COMES ON AS SOON AS I START THE ENGINE AND THE SEATBELT LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT GOES ON EVEN IF THERE IS NOONE IN THE SEAT AND IT STAYS ON WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER. THE CAR WAS NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT OR ANY KIND OF COLLISION. THIS IS JUST GOING TO BE ANOTHER UNNECESSARY EXPENSE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND THE MESSAGE LOOSING ENGINE POWER AND STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM STARTED FLASHING. THE CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND I COULDN'T STEER. I HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT IT AND THEY TOLD ME WHAT WAS WRONG. I ALSO LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW THE MANY COMPLAINTS AND GM IS AWARE. I PARKED THE CAR UNTIL I AM ABLE TO HAVE IT SERVICED. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A ACCELERATOR SENSOR SWITCH MALFUNCTION. IF I WAS GOING AT A FASTER SPEED OR WAS ON THE HIGHWAY THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. MINE SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS MOST PEOPLE. TRACTION CONTROL. SERVICE AIRBAG, REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHTS COME ON. CAR DIES WHILE DRIVING ONCE THE LIGHTS COME ON. DOORS DON'T UNLOCK UNLESS IT'S DONE MANUALLY. MESSAGES FLASH ON MY READOUT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. TELLS ME TO CHECK TIRE PRESSURE ON EACH TIRE EVEN THOUGH THE PRESSURE IS FINE. DETECTS PASSENGER IN PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. RIDICULOUS! I AM NOT EVER BUYING ANOTHER ONE!! *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED A SIMILAR FAILURE THREE YEARS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCDERMOTT CHEVROLET WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS ATTRIBUTED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER BECAUSE THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED DUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V507000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DUE TO THE RECALL AND REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,000.
WHEN I DRIVE ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH A REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING AND A MESSAGE TO CHECK STABILTRACK. AFTER THREE OR FOUR SHUTTING ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR THE LIGHT GOES OFF FROM ANYWHERE TO 3 OR 4 DAYS TO MAYBE A MONTH OR SO. IT IS INTERMITTENT. THE DEALER SAYS IT HAS NEVER HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT. MY CAR HASN'T STALLED AS OF YET BUT I AM CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA IN A 55 MPH ZONE, A SERIES OF WARNINGS APPEARED ON THE DASH: ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE STABILITRAK, CHECK ENGINE. IMMEDIATELY THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, AND SPEED DECREASED TO ABOUT 10 MPH. *TR

DRIVING 65 ON FREEWAY CAR SLOWS DOWN TO 40 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SAYS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. *TR
ALARM CAME ON THAT READ SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL - ENGINE POWER REDUCED. I WAS TRYING TO PASS A SEMI-TRAILER WITH ANOTHER CAR DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. THE ENGINE SUDDENLY WENT DEAD AND ANOTHER ALARM READ STARTING DISABLED. THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. IF THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD NOT NOTICED MY CAR ROLLING TO A STOP I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED AND SENT INTO THE TRUCK. THIS IS A SERIOUS LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. *TR
MY IMPALA HAS A VERY BAD ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND THE MANUAL SAID IT CAN DEFLATE AT ANY GIVEN TIME. MY WIPERS HALF THE TIME DON'T WANT TO COME ON OR WORK. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THICK WHITE SMOKE COMING UP FROM UNDER MY SEAT, I PUT DOWN THE WINDOWS WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO A SAFE SPACE AND BY THAT TIME VISIBLE FIRE WAS COMING UP FROM AROUND THE EDGES OF THE SEAT I HIT THE ONSTAR BOTTON TOLD THEM MY CARE WAS ON FIRE THEY DISPATCHED POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT. AFTER THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT IT APPEARED TO THEM THAT THE WIRING FROM THE SEAT MOTOR AT SHORTED OUT AND BURNED THROUGH THE WIRE CASING WHICH THEN CAUGHT THE SEAT I WAS SITTING IN ON FIRE. THE AUTO BODY ALSO STATED THAT THAT APPEARED TO BE WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM AS WELL. *TR
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A CHEVROLET IMPALA LTZ 2009 MODEL A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS 82,000 ON IT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT SAID THAT I HAD A BAD ACCELERATOR SENSOR. FOLLOWED BY A FLASHING LIGHT THAT SAID MY CAR HAD REDUCED ENGINE SPEED. I HAVE LOOKED UP MANY TIMES ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH MY CAR AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH A BAD GAS PEDAL. GM KNOWS AND I'M CONFUSED AS TO WHY THEY NEVER ASKED FOR A RECALL ON THIS. *TR
THE FIRST TIME MY ENGINE CONTROL LIGHTS TURNED ON WAS WHEN I WAS BACKING UP OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. AS TIME WENT BY THE LIGHTS STARTED TO COME ON CONTINUOSLY. THE LIGHTS KEPT TELLING ME TO SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I THEN TOOK MY CAR INTO FRIENDLY CHEVY IN MINNESOTA. THEY DID 3000 DOLLARS WORTH THE WORK AND NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM I WENT IN FOR.THE LIGHTS ARE STILL COMING ON AND IT SCARES THE LIFE OUT OF ME.. I PAID 9,000 FOR IT. ALSO PUT IN 3000.00 INTO IT FOR REPAIRS. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK. I TRIED TO TAKE IT BACK BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO ABOUT IT EXCEPT TRADE IT IN FOR 3000.00 LESS THEN WHAT I PAID FOR IT.ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVROLET AGAIN. TERRIBLE SERVICE. *TR

ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE & I RECEIVED THE MESSAGE 'SERVICE STABILITRAK , ENGINE POWER REDUCED '. I WAS USING CRUISE CONTROL AT ABOUT 75 WHICH IMMEDIATELY CUT OFF , THE CARS SPEED DROPPED QUITE A BIT, I STOPPED FOR FUEL, TURNED THE CAR BACK ON & THE ERROR WAS GONE. JUST A FEW DAYS AGO THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED, I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 40 THIS TIME, THE MESSAGE FLASHED & MY CARS POWER IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO DROP. I COULD FEEL THE CARS HESITATION WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE & THEN IT JOLTED A FEW TIMES & CRUISED FINE. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A SENSOR IN THE PEDAL WHICH IS COMMON WITH THIS CAR. THE FACT THAT MY ENGINES POWER CAN CUT AT ANYTIME ,INCLUDING IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY TRAFFIC IS A SCARY THOUGHT. *TR

MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE ABS LIGHT AND THE INFORMATION CENTER SAID SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. THE DEALER WILL NOT DO ANYTHING WITH OUT ME PAYING FOR IT. IT APPEARS FROM MY RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE IMPALA. MINE DID NOT SHUT DOWN BUT I AM SURE THAT IS NOT FAR OFF. *TR
I AM HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES AS EVERYONE ELSE, WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I WAS GOING ABOUT 70 MPH AND THAN MY SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY ENGINE POWER REDUCED WITH THE MIL LIGHT, THE CAR SPEED IMMEDIATELY DECREASED TO ABOUT 50 MPH, NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED, PULLED OVER AND LET IT SIT FOR AWHILE THAN RESTARTED IT. IT IS INTERMITTENT AND OCCURS RANDOMLY. IT IS SAFETY CONCERN AS THIS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAG LIGHT ALSO COMES OFF AND ON, I HAD TAKEN TO CHEVY DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, WAS ABOUT $500 IN WORK, AND IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I AM NOT ABLE TO AFFORD THE REPAIR SO I AM DRIVING IN A VEHICLE WHERE IF THEIR IS AN ACCIDENT, THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A RATTLING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE TURN SIGNALS, HOWEVER, WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,614. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO MY SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH. BEING THE PERSON THAT I AM I WAS VERY CONCERNED WITH THIS ISSUE AND TOOK IT TO HAVE IT CHECKED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL OCCASIONALLY COME ON WITH THE AMOUNT OF RAIN WE HAD IN OUR AREA.THEY SAID WHEN IT HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRY OUT IT WILL GO OFF. WELL TO DATE IT HAS NOT GONE OFF BUT STAYS ON THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME. NOW IT IS HAVING FUN WITH THE REDUCE POWER LIGHT WHICH BASICALLY SLOWS DOWN THE CAR. NOT ONLY ARE THE FLIP FLOPPING BUT WHEN I PUSH THE BRAKES IT SOMETIMES ACTS AS IF IT WILL CATCH BUT THEN LET GO AND CATCH AGAIN. HOW SCARY IS THIS WHEN YOU FEEL YOUR BRAKES WILL NOT STOP THE CAR? THIS IS NOT A GOOD FEELING. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO GET AN APPOINTMENT AND IT WILL COST ME $85 TO $100 TO HAVE THIS PUT ON A MACHINE TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. AND GET THIS JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE THIS IS NOT A COVERED PROBLEM. MY QUESTION IS WHY? I HAVE TRIED VERY HARD TO STICK WITH CHEVROLET PRODUCTS BUT THIS IS REALLY MAKING ME RETHINK MY DECISION. EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THESE ALERTS AND SENSORS. I AM NOT ONE TO SINK A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY INTO A CAR WITH REPAIRS, I WILL GET RID OF IT IMMEDIATELY. I NOTICED THE SERVICE STABILITITRAK LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES BUT AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE CAR IT DOES NOT COME BACK ON UNTIL ANOTHER DAY ON JULY 1, 2013 I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER SHIP IN TEMPLE TX BECAUSE OF MY EXTENDED WARRANTY, TOLD THEM THAT GAS GAUGE WAS SAYING I WAS OUT OF GAS (EVEN AFTER I FILLED IT) AND THE SERVICE STABILITITRAK CAME AND THE DAMPENER SOLENOID COULD BE BAD. THEY FIXED THE GAS GAUGE BUT TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIND A CODE FOR THE STABILIZER. SO 2 DAYS LATER WHEN IT CAME ON, I TOOK IT TO THEM TO SHOW THE DASH BOARD TO THEM THAT CLEARLY SAID SERVICE STABILITITRAK DID NOT SHUT OFF CAR SO THEY COULD RUN THE CODE BECAUSE THE SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND IT LAST TIME, NO CALL ALL DAY LONG WHEN I GOT OF WORK I CALLED TO FIND OUT SOMETHING THEY SAID IT WAS NOT CHECKED WHEN I ASKED IF THEY RAN THE CODE THEY SAID NO. SO TODAY THEY CALLED ME EARLY AND SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. IF I CAN FIND INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROBLEM, TELL THEM , SHOW THEM AND THEY STILL CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM.THEY WANT ME TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM I BROUGHT TO THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. MY HUSBAND IS ASE CERTIFIED AND THE ONLY REASON WE BROUGHT IN IS BECAUSE OF WARRANTY BUT WHAT GOOD IS WARRANTY IF YOU CAN'T GET IT FIXED. MY CHEVROLET IMPALA REDUCES THE POWER OF THE ENGINE DOWN TO 20 MPH OR LESS AND INDICATES CHECK TRACTION CONTROL AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THIS AND HAD TO PULL OFF THE FREEWAY TO AVOID FURTHER POTENTIAL COLLISIONS. *TR
WHILE ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP AT A RED LIGHT THE THROTTLE LOST RESPONSIVENESS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THREE MESSAGES APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD DISPLAY. 1. 'SERVICE STABILITRACK' 2. 'TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTION' FOLLOWED BY 3. 'REDUCED ENGINE POWER'. VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 40MPH. I WAS ON A DOWN RAMP HEADING TOWARD A HIGHWAY WITH NO BREAKDOWN LANE AVAILABLE. WHILE MERGING ONTO A TWO LANE HIGHWAY MY IMPALA SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND I RECEIVED A "LOW ENGINE POWER" WARNING AND THEN " SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR RUNS ROUGHLY AT REDUCED POWER - YOU NEED TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF UNTIL YOU CAN START IT AGAIN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. IN THIS INSTANCE I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR - I ALSO LOST THE POWER BRAKES. I HAVE BEEN TO TWO CHEVROLET DEALERS AND A BUICK DEALER BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. THEY REPLACED MY THROTTLE BODY, OIL SENSOR, BATTERY AND SOMETHING ELSE AND CHARGED ME OVER $2000 FOR THE THREE VISITS AND I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO BEEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND HAD THE WIRING HARNESS CHANGED AND HAD SEVERAL DIAGNOSTICS DONE. AFTER ALL THIS THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON MARCH 27TH 2013. ON APRIL 20TH 2013 (THAT IS 24 DAYS). THE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE IGNITION, THE CAR WILL START AND RUN BUT YOU CANT SHUT IT OFF AND REMOVE THE KEY, THEREFORE WE HAVE TO REMOVE THE CABLE TO THE BATTERY EVERYTIME WE GET OUT OF THE CAR , BECAUSE IF WE DON'T, THE BATTERY IS DEAD WHEN WE COME BACK. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE ACCELERATION AND DROPPED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO 40 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK, AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER MESSAGE DISPLAYED AS WELL. THE CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND TURN THE CAR OFF TO TRY AND GET THE ISSUE TO SUBSIDE. ONCE BACK ON THE ROAD, NOT MORE THAN 3 MILES LATER THE ISSUE SURFACED AGAIN. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND DRIVE (VERY SLOWLY) BACK TO MY HOUSE. NOT SURE IF IT WILL BE SAFE TO DRIVE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE REPLACED THE WHEEL HUBS AND THROTTLE PEDAL SENSOR IN THE PAST FEW YEARS IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT. THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE UNTIL RECENTLY AND EVEN AFTER HAVING IT FIXED BY A CERTIFIED CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, THE ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. TURNED CAR ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO MECHANIC WHO SAID IT WAS THE AIR INJECTION SOLENOID VALVE AND THAT IT IS SUCH A COMMON PART REPLACEMENT ON THESE MODELS THAT THEY KEEP THE EXACT PART IN STOCK! THEY WANT OVER $400 TO REPAIR. *TR
I TOO HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE ACHING NOISE THAT COMES FROM THE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT, THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THE IMPALAS. MY IMPALA WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A WEEK AND I WAS TOLD THE REASON THAT IT TOOK SO LONG WAS THAT THERE ARE THREE ACTUATORS AND THEY HAD TO FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE IT WAS OR CHARGE ME TO FIX ALL THREE BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T MAKE OUT WHICH ONE IT WAS. I PAID TO GET THE ONE FIX AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER IT STARTED AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT MAYBE THEY FIXED THE WRONG ONE AND I COULD PAY TO GET THE OTHER TWO FIXED. A COUPLE OF PEOPLE SAID THEIR CARS ACTUALLY CUT OFF ON THEM WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. ONE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE PROBLEM FROM WHAT I HAVE READ HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR OR THROTTLE BODY. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT HAS NOT DONE A RECALL ON THIS. A COUPLE OF PEOPLE POSTED THAT THEIR LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP COVERED THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEIR CARS WERE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS MYSELF. TO ME, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NOTICED THAT FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT APPEARED TO BE LOOSE. TOOK VEHICLE TO CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. UPON INSPECTION BY THE DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING WAS DISCOVERED '" SEAT FRAME BOLTS IN THE REAR AND SLIDES INTO SLOTS IN THE FRONT FOUND METAL FATIGUED ALLOWING SEAT TO MOVE SLIGHTLY". SINCE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER COVERED BY THE FACTORY WARRANTY, THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX. THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE VEHICLE TO A AUTO BODY SHOP TO SEE IF A PIECE OF METAL CAN BE WELDED ONTO THE AREA WHERE THE FRONT OF THE SEAT IS ATTACHED TO THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THE MAIN CONCERN THAT I HAVE IS THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER IF VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. HOW THE METAL CAN FATIGUE IN A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY THREE AND A HALF YEARS OLD MAKES NO SENSE.
