The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that the occupant sensor in the passenger’s seat occasionally failed to recognize an occupant seated in the passenger’s side front seat. The air bag off warning light would remain illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where he was informed that the part to repair the vehicle was not available. The contact was referred to a junkyard for assistance with finding a replacement part. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000

RECALL N140299, I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH NO STARTS, STUCK IGNITION KEYS, I RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL, TOOK VEHICLE TO HESSERT CHEVY AT 6301 E ROOSEVELT BLVD. PHILA. PA 19149, THEY PLAYED WITH THE KEYS, SAID MY CAR WAS DONE. PUT KEY IN IGNITION NO START TRIED AGAIN IT STARTED. DEALER WANTED 149.00 TO LOOK FURTHER. HELP
DRIVING AT ABOUT 70MPH MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME WITH WITH THE READING SERVICE STABILITY TRACK, ENGINE REDUCED POWER AN DISABLED STARTED, SERVICE THROTTLE INSTANTLY I LOSS ALL RMPS AN MY STEERING WHEEL ALMOST FULLY LOCKED WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL ON MOTION. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO JUS BARLEY VEER OFF THE ROAD INTO SAFETY. WHY WOULD A CAR COMPANY HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN THIER VEHICLES. THAT WOULD LOCK THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE GOING AT ACCELERATED SPEEDS
WHILE IN MOTION MY 2011 CHEVY IMPALA UP A HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE DASH WILL COME UP AND SAY STABILITRAK DISABLED TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED THEN ENGINE POWER REDUCED THEN THE VEHICLE WILL BEGIN TO NOT STEER CORRECTLY THEN I WILL HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IT THEN REPEATS ITSELF AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME
'TAKATA RECALL' WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER, WHICH CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SHUT DOWN. ON THE DASHBOARD, SERVICE AIRBAG APPEARS AS WELL AS THE ABS LIGHT AND LOCK MODE COMES ON. THE VEHICLE KEY WILL NOT TURN TO OFF MODE UNTIL A FEW SECONDS. THEN ONCE THE VEHICLE ALLOWS THE KEY TO TURN TO OFF MODE, U HAVE TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN THE CAR WILL START WITH NO PROBLEM AND THE ABS AND LOCK SIGNAL ON DASHBOARD GOES OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN ONE TRIP ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO GET STIFF AND THE TRACTION CONTROL COMES ON THE DASHBOARD AS WELL. WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS? SHOULD I TAKE MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP? THE LAST TIME THIS PROBLEM HAPPENED TO ME WAS MARCH 14, 2019
JANUARY 2019 WAS DRIVING ON A VERY CONGESTED INTERSTATE 95 AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 65. A WARNING POPPED UP ON MY DASH BOARD.SERVICE STABIL TRAK ENGINE IN REDUCED POWER. IT WAS LIKE I LONGER CONTROLLED MY CAR. THE SPEED SUDDENLY DROPPED. I WENT FROM 65MPH TO MAYBE 30MPH. IT FELT LIKE MY BRAKES WERE BEING APPLIED . I BECAME SCARED AND ALMOST STARTED TO PANIC. BUT BECAUSE I WAS IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE INTERSTATE. I SAT THERE ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE WITH MY HEART RACING AND MY HANDS LOCKED ON THE STEERING WHEEL SO HARD THEY CRAMPED UP. I TURNED OFF MY CAR AND REMOVED THE KEYS FROM THE IGNITION. I THANKED GOD I WAS ALONE IN THAT CAR. I THANKED GOD THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS NOT TAILGATING ME. I WAITED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN PUT THE KEY BACK IN THE IGNITION AND STARTED THE CAR UP. THE WARNING WAS GONE BUT THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH TO MERGE BACK ONTO THE INTERSTATE SO I PUT ON MY FLASHERS AND DROVE ON THE SHOULDER AT 20-30MPH UNTIL I GOT TO THE FIRST EXIT. I MADE IT HOME. I CALLED A CAR REPAIR COMPANY. THEY TOLD ME THE SENSOR MORE THAN LIKELY NEED TO BE RESET. THEY SUGGESTED I TAKE IT TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER. THE NEXT DAY I STARTED MY CAR UP AND ALL WARNING WERE GONE SO I DID NOT TAKE IT TO THE SERVICE CENTER. THE CAR RAN FINE UNTIL TODAY 52/20/2019. I JUST FILLED MY TANK UP WITH GAS. TURNED IT ON PUT IT IN GEAR AND DROVE 20FEET WHEN THE SAME ERROR CAME ON . I HAD LOOKED UP THIS ERROR ON THE INTERNET. SEEMS LOTS OF AMERICANS HAVE ALMOST BEEN KILLED BECAUSE A CAR MAKER HAS A MECHANISM BUILT IN TO IT VEHICLE THAT TAKES CONTROL OF THE SPEED TO WHICH THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING. PEOPLE ARE SPENDING A LOT MONEY TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT SEEMS TO NOT HAVE A FIX. CHEVROLET IS PUTTING THE LIVES AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS ON THE ROADS IN JEOPARDY WITH THEIR STABIL TRAK COMPUTER SENSORS.YOUR FAILING AMERICANS
LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT STARTUP, BECOMES INTERMITTENT AFTER DRIVING FOR A FEW MINUTES, THEN SERVICE STABILITRACK NOTIFICATION COMES ON SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE STABILITRACK NOTIFICATION WILL COME ON WHILE MAKING A TURN, DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE STRAIGHT HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH I LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR DUE TO A CAR AHEAD OF ME DRIVING UNDER SPEED LIMIT AS I PUT PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL IT SPED UP BUT FELT A SLIGHT HESITATION, I THOUGHT NOT MUCH OF IT UNTIL I SEE A 18 WHEELER COMING UP FAST , I PUT A LITTLE MORE PRESSURE ON ACCELERATOR TO BY PASS THE SLOW CAR IN THE RIGHT LANE AS I DID THIS I FELT MY GAS PEDAL WOBBLE TO THE SIDE W 18 WHEELER STILL BEHIND ME I TRIED TO SPEED UP AND MAKE IT TO SAFETY BECAUSE I KNEW SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT , JUST AS I GET BACK IN THE RIGHT LANE I FELT THE PEDAL GIVE AS IF IT JUST BROKE OFF ... I KEPT DRIVING TO CATCH THE NEXT EXIT AND TO GET OFF OF THE TWO LANES AND GET MYSELF TO SAFETY BUT IT WASN'T CATCHING SPEED I PANTICKED PUSHED MY ENERGY LIGHTS ON AND KEPT PUSHING THE PEDAL FOR IT TO GO STILL NOT MUCH HELP .. SO I JUST HELD DOWN THE PEDAL ,( BY THIS TIME IT'S ALMOST ON THE FLOOR BOARD SWINGING LEFT TO RIGHT I FINALLY GET A BREAK WHEN AN EXIT CAME UP I TOOK THE EXIT PRAYED TO GOD AND LOOKED AT THE PEDAL , TO MY SHOCK IT WAS HANGING ON BY A FEW WIRES ...PLZ SEE TO IT THAT THIS GETS CHECKED THAT WAS THE MOST SCARIEST SITUATION THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME WHILE DRIVING THANK GOD HE WAS WITH ME, I USUALLY NEVER COMPLAIN BUT THIS I JUST COULDN'T PASS UP IT IS SCARY AND COULD OF BEEN FATAL . MULTIPLE THROTTLE BODY FAILURES, FIRST ONE WAS REPLACED BY GM AT 33K MILES LAST UNTIL ABOUT 70K SINCE 2017 HAD TO REPLACE 3 MORE TIMES ALL NEW PARTS BEING UNDER WARRANTY. ON 4TH THROTTLE BODY NOW, USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN NORMAL CITY DRIVING...
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, GO A SERVICE STABILATRAK, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, THEN ENGINE TURNED ITSELF OFF. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AS POWER STEERING AND BRAKES DID NOT WORK. AFTER ROLLING TO A STOP, I PUT IT IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART. NOTHING! NO CLICKING AT ALL. AFTER 5 MINUTES AND MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, CAR STARTED AND DROVE NORMALLY??? CAR ONLY HAS 36,000 MILES ON IT.
CAR GETS SERVICE STABITRACK, TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS WARNING ON DASH. REPLACING WHEEL HUBS WITH SENSORS DOES NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL WANT TO APPLY BRAKES WHILE DRIVING OR REDUCE ENGINE SPEED. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH MANY FORUMS WITH PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME CAR AND THROUGH MULTIPLE YEARS OF MANUFACTURING. FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE IN THE LAST FEW DAYS IT LOOKS LIKE HUNDREDS OF OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE BUT CHEVROLET IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT. NOT SURE AT THIS POINT IF IT IS THE WIRING HARNESS CAUSING THE PROBLEM OR IF THIS COULD BE SOMETHING WITH THE COMPUTER THAT CONTROLS THE STABITRACK, ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL. IF CARS ARE LOOSING POWER AND OR THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED WITH OUT DRIVER CONTROL THIS CAN LEAD TO DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR THE CAR OWNER PASSENGERS AND EVERYONE ELSE DRIVING ON THE SAME ROAD. WITH HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THIS I DO NOT SEE WHY THE CAR OWNER SHOULD NEED TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE AND MAYBE FIX THE ISSUE. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ SOME PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR MULTIPLE SERVICE EVENTS AND THE ISSUE STILL NOT RESOLVED.

THE LOCAL DEALER (MALCOLM CUNNINGHAM CHEVROLET, 2031 GORDON HWY, AUGUSTA, GA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. "TALARA RECALL" THE HEATER DOES NOT GO OFF UNTILL THE CAR IS CUT OFF., THE CAR TREMBLES WHEN DRIVING IT , IT DOES NOT HAVE SPEED AND THEIR IS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD.ALL THIS BEGAN TO HAPPEN AFTER I LEFT THE TIRE KINGDOM SERVICE CENTERS.I BROUGHT IT BACK AND THE DEALER TELL ME THAT THEIR A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR THAT PROBLEM.
WHEN BRAKING THE POWER STEERING FAILS AND IS VERY HARD TO STEER WHEN TURNING

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REEDMAN TOLL CHEVROLET OF SPRINGFIELD (840 BALTIMORE PIKE, SPRINGFIELD, PA 19064, 484-472-6290) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED TE GAS PEDAL IS NO LONGER WORKING.*JB
AFTER TURNING AND BACKING OUT OF A STORE PARKING LOT, I PUT MY CAR BACK INTO DRIVE. ABOUT FIVE OR TEN FEET LATER MY FINAL DRIVE SHATTERED AND MY VEHICLE BECAME COMPLETELY IMMOBILE. I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. I AM VERY FORTUNATE THAT THIS ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR A CROWDED STREET. FOR MY TRANSMISSION TO HAVE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AT A MEAGER 76,000 MILES IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. TRANSMISSION WAS CARED FOR ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
WHEN DRIVING THE STABILITRAK LIGHT REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT COMES ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. MY CAR SLOWS DOWN AND SOMETIMES IT WOULD STALL WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS AND THE GAS PEDAL WOULD SOMETIMES SHAKE. AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO THE STABILITRAK LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AND AFTER A DAY THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF AS WELL. WHENEVER I TAKE IT TO THE MECHANIC TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND FIXED THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIS HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING OFTEN EVEN WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND FRIGHTENS ME WITH HOPES THAT IT DOES NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE MYSELF OR OTHERS, OR CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE COASTED AS IT REGAINED SOME POWER, BUT THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY BE DRIVEN TO ITS DESTINATION. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,000.
I KEEP GETTING ERRORS OF CHECK STABILITRAK ENGINE POWER REDUCED I HAVE CHANGED THE THROTTLE BODY
UPON STARTING STABILITRAK NEEDS SERVICE. REDUSED ENGINE POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALL CAME ON AND CAR RAN ROUGH. REATART AND CAR RUNS BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SATYS ON.
ONE MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT USED FROM A DEALER I STARTED GETTING SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE ABS LIGHTS WITH REDUCED POWER. IT HAS ALMOST 87K MILES ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THIS VEHICLE IS UNDER ACTIVE RECALL. I HAVE SOLD (TRADED-IN,) THE VEHICLE TO A LICENSED CAR DEALER. I INFORMED THE BUYER VERBALLY OF THE SAFETY ISSUE, BUT I WISH TO BE CERTAIN GM IS AWARE OF THE SALE. UNFORTUNATELY, THE GM WEBSITE RECALL SECTION HAS NO WAY FOR ME TO REGISTER THE SALE, AND THEREFORE THERE MAY BE A RISK TO THE EVENTUAL BUYER OF THE CAR, SHOULD THE SELLER FAIL TO MENTION TO THE BUYER/END-USER THAT THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL. GM IS DERELICT IN NOT HAVING A WAY FOR RECALLED VEHICLE SELLERS TO SIMPLY REGISTER THE SALE WITH THE NEW OWNER'S INFORMATION. THE GM RECALL SITE ALSO DOES NOT ACCEPT ANY EMAILS OR ANY OTHER ONLINE CONTACT. CALLING GM VIA TELEPHONE RESULTS IN TRANSFERS, DELAYS, AND RECORDINGS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE CONTACT WAS ALERTED BY A POLICE TROOPER THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EACH TIME THE HEADLIGHT BULB WAS REPLACED, IT CONTINUED TO FAIL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT I THINK? OK...HERE'S WHAT I THINK. I THINK THAT IS BEYOND COMPREHENSION AND PERSONALLY I THINK IT'S ILLEGAL THAT GM CAN GET AWAY WITH NOT HAVING TO PUT OUT A RECALL FOR THE "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" ISSUE THAT JUST ABOUT EVERY MAKE AND MODEL OF GM VEHICLES HAVE. IT'S NOT ONLY TIME CONSUMING TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT THE FIX WOULD BE BECAUSE IT'S NOT ALWAYS THE SAME THING WRONG ON EACH VEHICLE (AND WHEN YOU DO HAVE IT FIXED IT DOESN'T LAST VERY LONG UNTIL THE "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" WARNING COMES BACK), IT'S ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE POWER IS REDUCED AND ACTUALLY TURNS THE CAR ENGINE OFF NO MATTER IF YOU'RE DRIVING OR NOT. IT SHUT MY 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA ENGINE OFF AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. THANK GOD THERE WAS VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW BIG OF A PROBLEM THIS WAS UNTIL I STARTED RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM. IT'S ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL THAT YOU PAY YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR A VEHICLE AND IT NOT ONLY ISN'T WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE PAYING FOR BUT IT CAN ACTUALLY TAKE YOUR LIFE AND RUIN YOUR FAMILY BECAUSE GM'S BOTTOM LINE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THEIR CUSTOMERS LIVES. I'VE FILLED A COMPLAINT ON THIS PROBLEM ALREADY AND IF SOMETHING ISN'T DONE AND IT'S THE CAUSE OF GRIEF FOR MY FAMILY I WILL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO MAKE SURE GM NOT ONLY FIXES THEIR CRAPPY WORKMANSHIP BUT THAT THEY ALSO DIG INTO THEIR BOTTOM LINE AND COMPENSATE THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR THE HEARTACHE AND GRIEF THEY HAVE CAUSED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND A MESSAGE CAME UP SAYING "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED". IT WAS DURING RUSH HOUR AND I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BECAUSE MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 15 MILES PER HOUR.
ANYTIME I GO TO ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP SIGN, RED LIGHT, OR ETC THE CAR HESITATES AND THEN JERKS FORWARD. THE CAR HESITATES AND LOSES POWER. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY CITY ROAD THE CAR TURNED OFF. I HAD TO TRY AND STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BARELY TURN.
DOOR SYSTEM ON THE CAR HAS FAILED MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE I HAVE TO TAKE THE DOOR APART AND FIX IT. IT'S NOT ALL 3 DOORS IT'S JUST ONE DOOR. I UNDERSTAND YOU MAY NOT THINK THIS IS A SAFETY THING. BUT I'M A FIREFIGHTER AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT IF I HAD SOMEONE IN THE BACK SEAT AND I GET IN A CRASH. HOW ARE THEY SUPPOSE TO GET OUT? SINCE I HAVE A CAR SEAT ON THE OTHER SIDE. ESPECIALLY IF THE CAR CATCHES FIRE. I GUESS SOMEONE DYING WILL HAVE TO CHANGED THAT.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS OFF AN ON WITH SEVERAL ISSUES I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S SENSOR , WIRING, WHEEL, OR OTHER RELATED BUT I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH SERVICE STABIL TRAK, SERVICE AIRBAGS, TRACTION CONTROL, BRAKING RELATED, ETC. MOST RECENT HAS BEEN WITH SERVICE STABIL TRAK . I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID COMPUTER SHOWED THROTTLE BODY NEEDED REPLACED AND I'VE DONE THAT THEN A COUPLE WEEKS LATER SAME LIGHTS COMING ON ONLY THIS TIME DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S THE RIGHT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR HARNESS BUT I DIDN'T HAVE THAT REPAIRED BECAUSE I AM SEEING IN FORUMS ONLINE OTHERS HAVING SAME ISSUES AND IT'S AN ONGOING PROBLEM NO MATTER WHAT PART OF THE SYSTEM YOU FIX SO I'VE BEEN TURNING OFF TRACTION CONTROL SO I DON'T GET WARNING LIGHTS . VEHICLE ALWAYS IN MOTION WITH THESE PROBLEMS AND AFTER ALL THE ISSUES I'VE HAD AND STILL HAVE I KNOW NOW THAT AN ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED ABOUT A YEAR AGO IS DEFINITELY RELATED TO ALL THIS . I WAS APPROACHING A BUSY INTERSECTION AND SAW LIGHT WAS YELLOW SO I STARTED SLOWING DOWN AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP I REMEMBER HAVING MY FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL AND NEXT THING I KNEW MY CAR HAD SLAMMED INTO THE REAR OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME IT HAPPENED SO FAST I WAS STUNNED AND COULDN'T COMPREHEND WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED AND THE PERSON I HIT WAS A PREGNANT FEMALE WHO WAS VERY UPSET. I TOLD HER I HAD NO IDEA HOW THE INCIDENT COULD'VE HAPPENED WITH MY FOOT ON BRAKE WE WERE BOTH ON OUR WAY TO WORK AND SINCE THERE WAS NO REAL PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO OUR VEHICLES WE JUST EXCHANGED INFO AND HEADED TO WORK. I KNOW NOW IT WAS RELATED TO THIS SOMEHOW AND WISHED I WOULD'VE REPORTED IT. THE CAR HAD ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN!! I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP WITH 41,000 MILES (HIGHWAY MILES ) I WAS TOLD IT NOW HAS 92,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE DONE ALL THE OIL CHANGES AND REQUIRED MAINTENANCE BUT HAVE SPENT SEVERAL THOUSAND HOURS AT DEALERSHIP WITH EVERY ISSUE IMAGINABLE.
I LEFT WORK TO GO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER AT THE AIRPORT (ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY) BUT HEARD DINGING AND SAW THAT I WAS GETTING THE MESSAGE TO SERVICE STABILITRAK/TRACTION CONTROL AND THAT ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. LUCKILY I WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY AT THE TIME, BUT I WOULD HAVE BEEN IF IT HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS PICKING UP MY DAUGHTER. I DROVE STRAIGHT HOME INSTEAD AND MY HUSBAND HAD TO LEAVE WORK TO PICK UP OUR DAUGHTER. I AM TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER NEXT WEEK FOR SERVICE. IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY GM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON FRANKLIN CHEVROLET BUICK GMC INC (345 S. HWY 27, SOMERSET, KY 42503) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. AN EMAIL WAS SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RESPONSE RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR SUSPENSION ADJUSTABLE LATERAL LINK CAME APART WITHOUT WARNING. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE PART WITH AN AFTERMARKET PART, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON. POWER IS LOST. HAVE TO STOP, TURN CAR OFF AND TURN BACK ON. THE ENGINE LIGHT STILL STAYS ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS AND WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH.
I WAS DRIVING ON I-695 (IN BALTIMORE) WITH MY 3 DAUGHTERS I RECEIVED "SERVICE STABILITRAK, TRACTION CONTROL, ENGINE POWER REDUCED" MESSAGE WHILE DRIVING AROUND 65 MPH. THE ENGINE AND TRACKING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE MESSAGES WOULD NOT GO AWAY. I WAS FRIGHTEN AND HOPEFUL THAT WE WOULD NOT ONLY MAKE IT TO OUR DESTINATION BUT THEN BACK HOME AGAIN. FORTUNATELY WE DID BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE. IT SEEMS TO BE A ONGOING ISSUES AND MAYBE COST ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. THAT MAKES ME NERVOUS BECAUSE I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE OF INCOME.

I WAS FORCED TO PULL OFF AT A HEAVILY TRAVELED PART OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR ASSISTANCE. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED AND WORKED ON. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT IS POSSIBLY A BAD THROTTLE BODY. I HAVE HAD THIS SAME THING HAPPEN TWO OTHER TIMES WITHIN LESS THAN A YEAR. I WOULD LIKE IT TO BE NOTED THAT THIS TIME IT LEFT ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WENT FROM DOING THE SPEED LIMIT WHICH WAS 70 THEN IT GRADUALLY DECREASED IN SPEED UNTIL IT WOULD NO LONGER RUN AT ALL.

HE SAID IT WAS A MISSING APPLY LUG THAT BROKE OFF ONE OF THE APPLY BANDS AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION OR HAVE A COMPLETE REBUILD. I JUST THINK A TRANSMISSION SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 7 YEARS. AND I READ THIS IS COMMON FOR THAT TRANSMISSION BUT IT HAPPENS MORE IN 2000-2002 MODELS.....BUT I GUESS IT HAPPENS WITH THE NEWER ONES ALSO.
P0128 CODE. ENGINE HOT A/C OFF LIGHT ON DASH HEAT GUAGE DROPS ALL THE WAY DOWN AND AC DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE REPLACED THERMOSTAT TWICE AND ECT SENSOR ONCE PLEASE ADVISE. THERMOSTAT RELACEMENT GAVE ME APROX 200 MILES EACH TIME, ECT SENSOR REPLACEMENT APROX 50 MILES. ALL DRIVING ON CITY STREETS IN TOWN. PLEASE ADVISE!!

WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL? I SEE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET FOR GM VEHICLES. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT GM JUST DOESN'T CARE ENOUGH AFTER THE SALE. I JUST BOUGHT 2011 IMPALA AND NOW THE STABALITRACK SERVICE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. IT WILL DO THIS FOR NO APPARENT REASON BUT HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN ACCELERATING. USING THE CRUISE CONTROL ON LEVEL ROAD AND DASH WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND THROWS CAR OUT OF CRUISE, DECELERATING WHILE GAGES FLIP AROUND ALL OVER THE PLACE. POWER LOSS AND LACK OF ACCELERATION ARE DEFINITELY SAFETY ISSUES. PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY ONTO MICHIGAN HIGHWAY AND I GET HALFWAY ACROSS HIGHWAY AND CAR STOPS. THIS HIGHWAY IS 55 MPG AND WHILE I WOULD HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO CROSS THE LANE, CAR LOOSES ALL POWER. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET GIVES NO HELP FOR A FIX. I TURNED THE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL OFF, BUT THE PROBLEM DOES NOT GO AWAY. I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN THERE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER GARAGE ONLY TO GET CHARGED EXORBITANT PRICES FOR "POSSIBLE" THAT DO NOT SEEM TO HELP. GM SHOULD GET THIS FIGURED OUT AND NOT LET EVERY DEALER GARAGE DO THEIR OWN GUESSING ON WHAT WILL FIX THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT IS NOT LIMITED TO SINGLE MODEL OR YEAR BUT SPANS MANY YEARS WITH MANY MODELS. WHILE ACCELERATING, AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATION PEDAL BECAME STUCK AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. BRAKES WERE APPLIES AND ENGINE FOUGHT THE BRAKES UNTIL I COULD GET THE CAR STOPPED. ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV HIGH AND I CALLED 911. POLICE DISPATCHER ADVISED TO TURN OFF CAR IN DRIVE. POLICE ARRIVED AND SAW THAT THERE WAS NO FLOOR MATS OVER THE PEDALS. A FEW MOMENTS LATER, POLICE AND I HEARD A SNAP UNDER THE DASH. AT THAT TIME WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE SOUND WAS. I SUBSEQUENT STARTED THE CAR AND IT IDLED PERFECTLY. I LATER FIGURED THAT THE SNAP SOUND WAS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RETURNING TO THE OUTWARD POSITION. VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE THAT ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS, DURING THE ORDEAL.

THIS SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN A CONTINUING PROBLEM ON THE 4T65E TRANSMISSIONS. WHEN YOU ARE AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND GO TO ACCELERATE YOU GET NO RESPONSE EXCEPT FOR HIGHER RPM'S AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY ENGAGES AND YOU GET A VIOLENT SURGE FORWARD WITH A LOUD BANG. GM KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND SHOULD INITIATE A RECALL TO INSTALL NEW AND IMPROVED SOLENOIDS.
