I WILL BE DRIVING, SOMETIMES ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME AND SAY "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" "SERVICE STABILITRACK". THE ENGINE FASTLY REDUCES SPEED AND I AM UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
MY CHEVY SAYS STABILIZE TRACK THEN ENGINE POWER SLOWS IT'S VERY DANGEROUS SHOULD BE A RECALL.
'SERVICE STABILITRAK' 'SERVICE TRACTION' 'SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM' WARNINGS ALERTING ONLY WHEN TURNING VEHICLE TO THE LEFT. ONLY LUMINATES DURING TURN, THEN TURNS OFF. ALERTS SHOW ON ALL TYPES OF ROADS AND AT ALL SPEEDS. NO CODES PULLED FROM COMPUTER.
BOUGHT 2011 IMPALA LT 2 WEEKS AGO, FIRST TIME DRIVING TO WORK ON FREEWAY - ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND MESSAGE COMES UP - ENGINE POWER LOSS, STABILITAK TRACTION CONTROL. CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN!! ALMOST GOT HIT BY SEMI . NO ONE HAS ANY ANSWERS!?
HAD THE VEHICLE ALIGNED ABOUT ONE YEAR AGO DUE TO IT PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THE STEERING WAS STILL SLOPPY AND CONTINUED TO DRIFT TO THE RIGHT. WELL COME TO FIND OUT THAT THE TIE ROD ON DRIVERS SIDE WAS FROZEN AND COULD NOT BE ADJUSTED. SO A YEAR LATER I DECIDED TO HAVE THE TIE ROD REPLACED SO IT WOULD DRIVE STRAIGHT AND TRUE. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE STEERING KNUCKLE HAD A CRACK ALMOST COMPLETELY THROUGH. I HAVE NEVER HIT ANYTHING IN THAT VEHICLE TO CAUSE A CRACK IN THE STEERING KNUCKLE. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 37000 MILES ON IT. I KNOW THE POLICE EDITION HAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. CHEVROLET SHOULD HAVE RECALLED ALL IMPALAS FROM 2011 TO AT LEAST INSPECT THE VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED TO FIND OUT HOW MANY 2011 IMPALAS HAD THIS SAME DEFECT.
ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, ONCE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND AGAIN TODAY, MY 2011 CHEV IMPALA LTZ DISPLAYED A SERIES OF ROTATING ALERT MESSAGES -- 1. SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL 2. SERVICE STABILITRAK 3. ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MILES PER HOUR ON AN OPEN ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING VERY ROUGHLY AND SLOWED DOWN AND THE ABOVE 3 MESSAGES REPEATEDLY DISPLAYED ONE AFTER THE OTHER. ALSO 2 YELLOW LIGHTS WERE FLASHING AND THEN REMAINED ON -- THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT (I THINK). WHEN I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO THE CHEV DEALERSHIP A YEAR AGO, I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THE WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGES COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. (AND I UNDERSTAND THAT IF IT ISN'T BROKEN WHEN I TAKE IT IN, THE SERVICE DEPT WOULD MOST CHALLENGED TO FIX IT.) TODAY, WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO A SAFE PLACE TO PARK. I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION, WAITED A MOMENT AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. THE SAME 3 MESSAGES WERE DISPLAYED WITH THE TWO YELLOW LIGHTS STAYING ON. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR 3 OR 4 HOURS LATER, ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS DISPLAYED. THE 3 REFERENCED ALERTS WERE NOT DISPLAYED. I AM GETTING READY TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN WITH THIS PROBLEM. DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE AS TO HOW TO PROCEED?
PROBLEM WITH THE ACTUATOR--MAKES LOUD CLICKING NOISE. DON'T KNOW WHICH ACTUATOR IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN IT IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. LASTS FROM A MINUTE TO 3 MINUTES.
WHEN TAKING LEFT TURNS THE CAR MAKES A LOUD GRIND NOISE THEN THE STABILITY CONTROLL WILL TURN ON. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND STABILITY CONTROLL LIGHT POPPED ON WHILE DRIVING WHILE ALSO HAVING ENGINE POWER REDUCED WHICH THEN APPLIED MY BRAKES CAUSING ME TO ALMOST GO OFF THE ROAD.
MY TRANSMISSION BANGS INTO GEAR FROM STARTING IN DRIVE FROM A STOP . NOT ALL THE TIME BUT STILL HAPPENS .
TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, STABILITRAC LIGHT, AND ENGINE LIGHT ALL CAME ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY. THIS CAUSED THE CAR TO START JERKING AND SHIFTING HARD, ALSO ENGINE RUNNING LIKE IT HAS A MISFIRE NOW. BEFORE THIS BEGAN THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND SHIFTING PERFECT.
WELL I HAVE NOT TO MANY COMPLAINTS AS I DO MY OWN MAINTENANCE BUT SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR USED AT 32000 MILES AT 83000 DRIVER SEAT HEATER UNION AND NOW AT 114764 MILES SERVICE AIR BAGS LIGHT IS ON DISPLAY AND LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AT ALL TIMES. IT STARTED WHEN CAR WAS TURNED ON SEPT 30 2017 IN THE MORNING.
MU AIRBAG LIGHT KEEP COMING ON. REPLACED SENSORS AND ATILL HAVEN'T FIXED2
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. WHEN THE CONTACT ENTERED AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE PLANETARY GEAR FAILED. THE MECHANIC REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE ON JULY 12, 2019. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,908.
JUNE 8 2013: WHEN DRIVING, NOTICED ON THE FREEWAY, IT WASN'T SMOOTH AT TIMES. THE TRANSMISSION'S SHIFTING WAS PRETTY ROUGH. NO INDICATION OF ANY ISSUES POPPED UP ON DASHBOARD. WHEN ARRIVING AT FREEWAY RAMP, IT FELT LIKE I WAS HYDROPLANING, BUT ON GRAVEL. THEN, NOTICED WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR, WAS NOT GOING ANYWHERE, BUT FELT LIKE I WAS IN NEUTRAL. WAS ABLE TO PULL IN AND TAKE A LOOK... TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS FINE... NOTHING POPPED UP ON THE DASHBOARD. NOTHING! THE INDICATORS FOR TIRES, OIL, ETC WERE SHOWING INFO, BUT NOTHING TO INDICATE IT HAD DIED!! DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP - HAD JUST BOUGHT IT IN JULY 2012. 11 MONTHS LATER, THIS?!?!? THEY ARE SAYING THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN IT THIS BAD, EVEN WHEN COMPARED TO OTHER OLLLLLLDER CARS, THIS WAS THE WORST. THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. THEY CALLED IN THE GM PEOPLE TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT.THEIR AUTO TRANS CONCERN: CUSTOMER STATES TOWED IN TRANSMISSION WILL NOT MOVE AT TIME OF WRITE UP REVERSE AND FORWARD WORKING INPUT AND REACTION CARRIER EXCESSIVE CLEARANCE METAL IN TORQUE CONVERTER., VALVE BODY, BURNT CLUTCHES CALL TAC CASE #71-1194752825 PRIVE COMP ADVISED TO REPLACE TRANS DUE TO COST WITH SRTA. ORD SERIAL #619ASBWJR6J PRELACW TIH SRTA FLUSH CODE 693FFEE5 THEY REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY... TOTAL COST WAS $4400 AUG. 29, 2017. THE REPLACED TRANSMISSION FAILED. WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY, JUST GOT OFF, WHILE IN MOTION, THERE WAS SOME REALLY ROUGH VIBRATION. COULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 25 MPH. NO LIGHT INDICATIONS ON THE DASHBOARD. IT TELLS ME IF FLAT TIRE, BLINKER IS ON, THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE, ETC ETC, BUT NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S RELATED, BUT WE SMELLED VINEGAR EVERY TIME WE STARTED THE CAR FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS STRAIGHT. WE NOTICED THAT WHEN ACCELERATING, IT'S OKAY, BUT WHEN LETTING OFF THE GAS ON THE FREEWAY, IT "SHUDDERS."
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD REVERSED THE VEHICLE AND THEN SHIFTED INTO THE DRIVE POSITION AND WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, HE HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DRIVE FORWARD. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS HAD SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO CONTACTED HIS LOCAL DEALER ( PLATINUM CHEVROLET: 3001 CORBY AVE, SANTA ROSA, CA, 95407) WHERE HE INQUIRED TO PROVIDE HIM WITH A DIAGNOSIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE UNDER CASE NUMBER: 83215496968, AND STATED THAT SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT HIM BACK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,500.
TAKATA RECALL MY STABILA TRACT AND REDUCED POWER TRACTION CONTROL KEEPS COMING UP ON MY DASHBOARD IT STARTS JERKING AND NO POWER. EVERY TIME I START MY CAR THESE LIGHTS COME ON AND THE CAR WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
IT WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY BACK HOME. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH SAID REDUCING ENGINE POWER BUT THEN THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND AND THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON SO WHEN I GOT HOME I PARK THE CAR AND LEFT IT ALONE THAT DAY..THE NEXT DAY I TURN THE CAR ON AND THE ABS LIGHT IS ON AND THE TRACTION CONTROLL LIGHT IS ON I DRIVE THE CAR IT FEELS LIKE IF THE BRAKES ARE ON I HEAR A NOISE OUTSIDE THE CAR SO I TAKE IT TO A NEAR SHOP AND THEY TELL ME ITS A BAD WHEEL ROUTER SO I CHAGE IT FOR 180 AND IT WASNT THAT SO I SEE ALOT OF IMPALAS DEALING WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITY, CHECK ENGINE, AND ENGINE POWER INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE JERKED AND THE CONTACT DECELERATED THE VEHICLE TO 10 MPH; HOWEVER, THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATED 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT THERE WAS NO ANSWER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL FREQUENTLY FAIL TO ENGAGE WHEN STARTING FROM A FULL OR PARTIAL STOP. TURNING LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL TO ENGAGE. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE THE CAR HAD 38000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS OUR THIRD IMPALA THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. THE FIRST IMPALA THAT HAD THIS PROBLEM, THE CHEVROLET DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE. THE TRANSMISSION PRESSURE SOLENOID WAS REPLACED BY A LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOP. THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR THAT CAR. WE ALSO HAVE A 2008 IMPALA THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THREE IMPALAS, THE SAME TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IN ALL THREE. THE PART NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. WE HAVE DELAYED HAVING THE PART REPAIRED BECAUSE IT IS QUITE COSTLY AND WE HAD HOPED THAT CHEVROLET WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND RECALL THE PART ON THEIR OWN.
CHECK DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT. DEALER INSPECTION RESULTED IN "BAD SENSOR". WANTED $400. TO REPLACE. CURRENT ISSUE: AWAY FROM HOME. CAR STARTED BUT ENGINE VERY ROUGH. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, MESSAGE "LOSS OF POWER", CHECK STABIL-TRACK". CAR WOULD SHIFT INTO DRIVE AFTER REVVING UP TO 3K RPM. MAX SPEED ATTAINABLE 55 MPH. MADE IT HOME. NOW UNABLE TO START CAR. (NEW BATTERY) OTHERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS HAD TO REPLACE/CLEAN THROTTLE CONTROL SENSOR?? SOME WERE AT HIGHER SPEED WHEN THE LOSS OF POWER OCCURRED. NO START IS ANOTHER ISSUE?
CONSTANT CLICKING FROM BEHIND DASHBOARD THE BLENDER SOMETHING HAVING TO DO WITH AIR/HEAT RUNS ALL THE TIME EVEN WHEN CAR IS NOT BEING USED. IT KILLS MY BATTERY LIFE AND SINCE THIS IS A MALFUNCTION FROM CHEVY I SHOULDN'T BE BURDENED WITH CONSTANTLY REPLACING BATTERIES. ITS LOUD AND LASTS FROM 30 SECONDS TO 3 MINUTES.
AFTER STARTING THE MY CHEVY IMPALA THE ENGINE STARTED SHAKING RAPIDLY. IT SHOWED SERVICE STABILTRAK, LOW ENGINE POWER & THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I SHUT THE CAR OFF & STARTED IT AGAIN. IT DID THE SAME THING. I CUT IT OFF BUT IT DID THE SAME THING. I CUT IT OFF 1 MORE TIME BECAUSE I DID NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT & WAITED A MINUTE BEFORE TRYING TO START IT AGAIN. SURPRISINGLY THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGH. I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO STORE WHERE THE CODES SHOWED THROTTLE ISSUES. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. HE DID SOME ADDITIONAL TESTS & INFORMED ME THAT I HAD A BAD THROTTLE BODY. I HAD TO HAVE THIS REPLACED WHICH I WAS INFORMED THAT GM HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THROTTLE BODY & COMPONENTS. VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN. IM CONCERNED THAT THIS MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN OR HAPPEN DURING DRIVING.
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE HOME FROM A TRIP AND STOPPED AT A STORE. WHEN SHE RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT MOVE. WE HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR ON THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 55,500 MILES ON IT. I DON'T FEEL THIS IS A REPAIR THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NECESSARY WITH THIS FEW MILES. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS ON THE VEHICLE AND TOOK POSSESSION FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON 2/2/11. I DO HAVE THE REPAIR BILLS. WORK WAS PERFORMED ON 6/9/17.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT ABOUT 65MPH MY CAR SUDDENLY ALERTED "SERVICE STABILTRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, ENGINE POWER REDUCED" AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO UTILIZE CRUISE CONTROL ANYMORE AND IT STARTED TO SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 40MPH. THEN MY VEHICLE STARTED TO JERKILY MOVE & THEN IT ALERTED "STARTER DISABLED SERVICE THROTTLE" AND MY CAR SHUT DOWN (STEERING ALTERED & CAR SHUT OFF). I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD & TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR (UNSUCCESSFULLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES). DID I MENTION I HAD MY 2 CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED? THIS WAS TERRIFYING AS MY CAR JUST STOPPED-I HAD MINIMAL WARNING & WHEN TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE IT COULD'VE BEEN A LOT WORSE. AFTER READING HOW FREQUENTLY THIS HAPPENS, WHY HASN'T IT BEEN RECALLED?
IF IDLE OR RUNNING THE VEHICLE MAKES AN EXTREMELY LOUD TICKING NOSE. IT TURNS OUT THAT IT'S THE BLEND DOOR ACUATOR.
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR ON THE FREEWAY, STABIL TRAC COMES ON, AND IT SAYS ENGINE POWER REDUCED. THIS CAUSING ME TO DRIVE IN THE SLOW LANE. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED THE CAR SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. MY FAMILY AND I WERE ALMOST STRUCK FROM BEHIND. WE'VE HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE, AND WE GOT IT FIXED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET ANY CODES. BASICALLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON, AND IT'LL BE GONE THE NEXT DAY. THIS IS A SCARY SITUATION FOR ME BECAUSE I HAVE TO TRAVEL EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, AND I DON'T NEED THIS HAPPENING TO MY FAMILY AGAIN. I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR THE SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER.
I WAS IN MOTION WHEN MY CAR NOTIFIED ME OF ENGINE REDUCE POWER AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH MY TRACTION LIGHT. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN NOVEMBER OF 2015 ABOUT THIS AND TO NOTIFY THE DEALERSHIP OF THIS WHEN IT HAPPENS. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS AND THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR 2 DAYS TO FIND AN EXCUSE NOT TO TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN THE LETTER. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD LOOSE $1200 IF THEY FIXED THE ISSUE DESCRIBED IN THE LETTER. I GUESS MY SAFETY AND LOYALTY AS A CUSTOMER MEANS NOTHING. THIS HAPPENED ON OR AROUND 4/04/2017
I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY FRONT LEFT HUB AFTER REPLACING. I HAVE REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS AS WELL. WONDERED IF THERE ARE SERVICE BULLETINS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT MAKES A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE DESCRIBED TO ME AS THE HUB ADJUSTING THE SPEED OF ONE TIRE TO MATCH THE OTHER. IT ALSO FLASHES BRAKE ASSIST AND STABILITRACK ISSUES AS WELL AS ANTI LOCK ALERT. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY TURNING LEFT BUT MOST RECENTLY EVEN WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE A PASSENGER WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT, THE SENSOR FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE SEAT WAS OCCUPIED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
WHEN DRIVING IN REGULAR TRAFFIC,THE WARNING SYSTEM SIGNALS, AND A MESSAGE "SERVICE STABILITRAK SYSTEM, BRAKE LIGHT." THERE IS NO REDUCED POWER, NOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAD SERVICE FOR THIS PROBLEM 2 YEARS AGO, NOW ITS BACK! ONSTAR SHOWS SYSTEM "NORMAL, NO ISSUES." WHAT'S GOING ON???
SERVICE STABILITY TRAC AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHTS CAME ON. CAR STARTED JERKING AND MAKING NOISES WHEN STARTING CAR.
ENGINE SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY, COASTED TO STOP ON SHOULDER. ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. WAITED 5 MINUTES THEN ENGINE RESTARTED ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED BEFORE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING: SHUTTING DOWN THROTTLE
MY SERVICE STABILITRACK, REDUCE ENGINE POWER LIGHT CAME ON WHILE I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I HAD ALMOST NO BRAKE PEDAL. I COULDN'T STOP AT THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE EXIT, LUCKILY NO OTHER CARS WERE AROUND. IF I HAD BEEN ON A MAIN STREET AT 45MPR AND HAD TO STOP FOR A RED LIGHT I WOULD HAVE NEVER STOPPED ON TIME. I'M VERY LUCKY NO CARS WERE AT THE LIGHT WAITING OR COMING IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION WITH THE GREEN LIGHT. I SEE THIS PROBLEM ALL OVER EDMUNDS AND ON YOU TUBE AND AS FAR AS I CAN TELL IT'S 100% CHEVROLET. HOW CAN THIS NOT BE A RECALL. THERE ARE DOZENS AND DOZENS OF THE SAME COMPLAINT ON EDMUNDS AND YOU TUBE. IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY YOU TUBE VIDEO HAS A DIFFERENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM....FROM PULLING OUT THE FUSE TO THE STABILITRACK TO OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS IN REPAIRS. DOES THERE HAVE TO BE A DEATH TO GET THE ATTENTION OF CHEVROLET. THE LIGHT HAD COME ON A FEW TIMES BEFORE BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. USUALLY IT CAME ON AND I WOULD TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND IT WOULD BE FINE......SO HOW COULD THIS BE ANYTHING BUT A MALFUNCTION IF IT GOES OFF AND ON AT ANY WHIM. THEY MUST KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AS IT SEEMS TO BE VERY PREVALENT AND AGAIN FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT'S ALWAYS A CHEVROLET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION EXPLODED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,700.

"TAKATA RECALL" VEHICLE INVOLVED IN A REAR END COLLISION, WAS PUSHED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND HIT HEAD ON. AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED ADDITIONALLY THE BACK OF DRIVERS SEAT COLLAPSED INTO THE REAR SEAT
IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC MY 2011 IMPALA STOP ACCELERATING. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND RPM WAS REACTING BUT NO ACCELERATION. I COULDN'T EVEN PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE BECAUSE OF NO ACCELERATION. I'VE SEEN ONLINE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS EXACT PROBLEM WITH THEIR IMPALA. I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED AND THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE.

I HAD DRIVEN APPROX. 8 MILES ON AN EXPRESSWAY....WHEN I EXITED THE EXPRESSWAY THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND WOULD NOT EXCEED 10 MPH. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. IT WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR IN REVERSE FROM THEN ON. WHEN I CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID IT WAS DARK AND HAD SEDAMENTS IN IT. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 86000 MILES. I ALWAYS HAVE THE OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. EVIDENTLY, THEY DIDN'T CHECK ALL THE FLUIDS LIKE THEY PROMISED.
I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A REDUCED POWER READING IN MY CAR. IT COMES AND GOES AT WILL ALONG WITH A STABLITRACK WARNING. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH FRONT WHEEL HUBS AND THE POSITION SENSOR TO NO AVAIL. THIS CAN HAPPEN DRIVING OR JUST GOING FROM THE BRAKE TO THE GAS.
SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. BEFORE I COULD PULL OVER AND CHECK ON IT, THE CAR CUT OFF NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE LANES AND COULD NO LONGER STEER THE CAR AT ALL. 2011 IMPALA 3.5L V6 SFI (LZE)OCTOBER, 2016 (60,104 MI) WHILE TRAVELING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. DROPPED DOWN TO 20 MPH WHILE ENGINE SURGED. DISPLAY READ, " SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL," SERVICE STABILITRACK," "ENGINE POWER REDUCED." BY FEATHERING THE GAS PEDAL, I WAS ABLE TO GET THE SPEED UP TO 40-45MPH AND DROVE 1 MILE TO GM DEALERSHIP. AT TRAFFIC LIGHT THE VEHICLE SURGED WHILE STOPPED AND NEEDED VERY FIRM BRAKING TO KEEP IT FROM SURGING AHEAD. THE DEALERSHIP STAFF "GUESSED" THAT IT WOULD BE THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR WITHOUT DOING DIAGNOSTIC CHECK - I ASSUMED THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO LDA AUTO WHERE THE OWNER/EXPERT ON VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (PART = $254); THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY SO THE ENTIRE PIECE HAD TO BE REPLACED. A "RELEARN PROCEDURE" WAS PERFORMED. ANY NEEDED ADJUSTMENTS MADE. CODE SYSTEM RESET AND TESTED. VEHICLE WAS TEST-DRIVEN. (LABOR = $80). I DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF AT 7:00AM, GOT A RIDE TO WORK FROM SHOP STAFF, AND RECEIVED MESSAGE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS COMPLETED SAME DAY. OWNER EVEN DEDUCTED THE $20 "SHOP SUPPLIES" FEE FROM MY BILL BECAUSE HE STATED HE DID NOT USE ANY SUPPLIES. KUDOS FOR HIS HONESTY!!! TOTAL BILL CAME TO A LITTLE LESS THAN $350. OWNER SHOWED ME EXACTLY WHAT HE DID, OFFERED TO GIVE ME THE OLD PART, LET ME CHOOSE WHICH MFG TO ORDER FROM ONLINE. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE! TODAY IS 2/23/2017 AND MY IMPALA HAS NOT HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS SINCE THIS REPAIR; IN FACT, IT SEEMS TO BE A BIT MORE RESPONSIVE.

MY CAR HAS WARN OUT TWO SETS OF TIRES ON THE REAR . THE STILL IS SHOWING . I HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN THE FRONT TIRES TO WARE OUT TWICE AS FAST AS THE REAR. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT HAPPENING WITH THIS IMPALA. FOR SOME REASON THE STEEL IN THE TIRES ARE ALWAYS SHOWING CLOSE TO THE MIDDLE OF THE TIRE. I DON'T DRIVE MUCH SO THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME. WHEN IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME WITH THE TIRES THAT CAME ON THE CAR, I BOUGHT A NEW SET AND HAD THE CAR ALIGNED. IT HAS DONE IT AGAIN SO I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE CAR.
WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP THE CAR JERKS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS TRYING TO CATCH UP AND IT FEELS LIKE YOU'VE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. IT'S AN ON AND OFF PROBLEM BUT IT HAPPENS IN THE RAIN AND IS DANGEROUS THE DEALER CHANGED THE TRANS OIL AND IT STILL DOES IT. NEXT THE CAR GOES INTO "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK" WHILE DRIVING AND WILL NOT LET ME FINISH MY HIGHWAY DRIVE SAFELY, NO ONE AT THE DEALER CAN HELP WITH THIS EXCEPT TO SAY IT WILL CAST A LOT OF MONEY TO FIX. HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY BURN OUT AND I BOUGHT EXPENSIVE LIGHTS LAST TIME AND ONE IS ALREADY BURNT OUT. I HAVE ONLY 1 PAYMENT LEFT AND THE CAR IS READY FOR THE JUNKYARD, YOU WOULD THINK AFTER $28000.00 IT WOULD LAST A LITTLE LONGER. WHAT HAPPENED TO GM??
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR I CAME UP TO A RED LIGHT IT STARTED SHAKING THEN A MESSAGE CAME UP THAT SAID SERVICE STABILITRACK AFTER IT TURN OFF AND WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON I HAD TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE MAIN ST TO AVOID GETTING HIT OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT I ENDED UP GETTING IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE CALLED A MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT AND HE SAYS IT MIGHT BE MY MOTOR SO I CALLED THE CHEVY DEALER IN LAKEWOOD AND THEY TOLD ME MY WARRANTY WAS UP LAST YEAR SO THEY SAY THEY COULD NOT DO NOTHING FOR ME I HAVE TO FIX IT OUT OF MY POCKET THIS CAR HAD ALREADY TOO MUCH PROBLEMS FROM THE START MY TRANSMISSION BROKE ALSO UNDER 60000 MILES LUCKILY IS WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY BUT NOW I GOT NO CAR NO MONEY AND I'M STILL PAYING FOR THE CAR I GOT ABOUT 2 YRS LEFT TO FINISH IT AND IT DIDN'T EVEN GET TO 100000 MILES I GOT PLAYED ON BUYING THIS CAR ALL MY HARD WORK MONEY IS BEING TAKEN FOR THEM SELLING ME A PROBLEMATIC CAR I SPOKE TO GENERAL MOTORS AND ALL THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO TALK TO A SENIOR ADVISOR IT'S BECOME DANGEROUS TO EVEN DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS TO IT IT STOPS WERE EVER NOW I HAVE A FAMILY KIDS I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR NO MORE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT COULD BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IF NOT I HAVE TO PROCEED WITH LEGAL MATTERS AND ALSO GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT STARTED CAUSE THEIRS MANY PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND THE SAME CAR.
TRANSMISSION REPLACED DUE TO TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE. 77000 MILES ON MY 2011 IMPALA. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEN HARD. DRIVING AT ABOUT 40 MPH- THE VEHICLE SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR. VERY SCARY FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT. I WAS FEARFUL BECAUSE THE STREET I WAS ON WAS ONLY ONE LANE IN EACH DIRECTION, AND NOT MUCH OF A SHOULDER. I FELT VERY LUCKY I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY. THIS I BELIEVE COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR AT A VERY SLOW SPEED TO A DEALERSHIP THAT WAS LESS THAN A MILE AWAY. SAD PART I WAS OVER 300 MILES FROM HOME. TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE CAUSED HEAVY METAL DEBRIS IN THE TRANSMISSION LEAVING ME WITH A BILL TOTALING $3368.52. (PLUS OTHER EXPENSES DUE TO MY DISTANCE FROM HOME.)
