THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, BRAKE ASSIST AND STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. A GRINDING NOISE CAN BE HEARD COMING FROM THE FRONT-LEFT WHEEL. THIS USUALLY OCCURS WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A DEAD STOP OR MAKING LEFT AND/OR RIGHT TURNS FROM A DEAD STOP. *TR
THE TRACTION AND/OR SUSPENSION CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL WHEN TURNING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE AND COULD CAUSE THE DRIVER (AND PASSENGERS) TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. ONCE THE CAR GETS IN MOTION, IT MOVES AT AN ACCELERATED SPEED TO CATCH UP TO WHAT THE NORMAL SPEED WOULD HAVE BEEN. THIS HAPPENS MAINLY ON CITY STREETS AS A RESULT OF TURNING. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN TIMES THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO BE IN MOTION WHEN SIMPLY STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN AND DRIVING FORWARD.
A FEW WEEKS AGO OUR DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING OUR 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. SHE INFORMED US THAT THE CAR JUST "TOOK OFF BY ITSELF." WE JUST ATTRIBUTED IT TO HER NOT BEING FAMILIAR WITH THE CAR. A COUPLE DAYS LATER, WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND I WAS IN PASSENGER SEAT, AT ABOUT 25 MPH ON A CITY STREET, CAR SUDDENLY TOOK OFF AS IF SHE HAD SLAMMED ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. PUSHING ON THE BRAKE ENDED SUDDEN ACCELERATION, ENGINE RETURNED TO IDLE, SO I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT PROBLEM IS POSSIBLY RELATED TO CRUISE CONTROL CIRCUITS AND THAT BRAKE MAY HAVE DISENGAGED CRUISE. CRUISE CONTROL CIRCUIT WAS "ON", SINCE WE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN CRUISING ON INTERSTATE, BUT WAS NOT ENGAGED (OR SET) WHEN INCIDENT OCCURRED. THIS PROBLEM CAME OUT OF NOWHERE, OCCURRED TWICE IN A WEEK'S TIME, THEN DISAPPEARED. WE ARE WONDERING IF IT WILL OCCUR AGAIN. 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA W/ 60,000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING AND MADE ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISES DURING TURNS. THE STABILITRAK, ABS, AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.
WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS, THE CAR HESITATES, AND THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE, WHILE TURNING. THE PROBLEM IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH STEERING CONTROL IN THIS VEHICLE EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT FROM SERPENTINI CHEVROLET IN STRONGSVILLE, OHIO. CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPLACED THE LEFT FRONT HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY ON 6/9/16 AT 34,770 WHEN THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ON 8/3/18, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AT 60039 MILES, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT THE STEERING GEAR WAS LEAKING AND IT WOULD BE AN $1829.50 REPAIR. THE SYMPTOMS I AM EXPERIENCING NOW ARE THE SAME AS WHEN THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND NOT REPAIRED CORRECTLY. IT MAKES A SCRAPING OR GRINDING NOISE WHEN YOU TURN. IF I ADD POWER STEERING FLUID, THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY, WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM ALL ALONG. I CHECKED ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO ME THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WHICH USUALLY ONLY GETS IDENTIFIED AFTER THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I BELIEVE GM SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO DO A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, ENGINE POWER REDUCED. MESSAGE CAME ON AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND CUT ENGINE POWER REDUCING SPEED TO 25MPH NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED APPARENTLY A COMMON PROBLEM OVER MULTIPLE YEARS WHY WAS THERE NO RECALL OR AT LEAST A NOTIFICATION THERE COULD BE A PROBLEM INSTEAD OF LETTING SOMEONE'S CAR SHUT DOWN ON THE FREEWAY WITH NO WARNING?
MOSTLY WHEN TURNING WHILE IN REVERSE, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR HESITATES SLIGHTLY. THERE IS ALSO A GRINDING NOISE. THIS WILL HAPPEN OCCASIONALLY GOING FORWARD. DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS THIS HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES WEEK. DURING THE COOLER MONTHS IT ONLY HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY. THE CAR WILL BE FOUR YEARS OLD IN 08/2017 AND IT HAS LESS THAN 28,000 MILES ON IT. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN 06/2016 WHEN THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES ON IT. HAD THE BRAKES LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE FINE. CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR HOW TO FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,936.
CAR LOSES POWER AND STABILITRAK WARNING COME ON WHILE DRIVING NO ENGINE POWER AT ALL .CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND STAYS ON TILL I SHUT OFF ENGINE AND TURN BACK ON ONLY THEN ENGINE LIGHT DISAPPEARS MY CAR ONLY HAS 37,000 MILES AND IS 3 YEAR OLD ITS HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY THREE TIME AND IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY WORK TWICE NOW.
MY STABILITRACK AND ABS KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM DRIVING ON A SIDE STREE OR ON THE BELTWAY. BELTWAY DRIVING IS DANGEROUS AND SCARY AS THE CAR SEEMS LIKE IT IS BRAKEING AND THEN SPEEDING UP. MAKING TURNS IT DOES THE SAME AND "JUMPS" WHEN I USE THE BRAKES. THIS IS ALL VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SHOULD BE LOOKED AT ASAP. I HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 5 MONTHS AND THE SERVICE PEOPLE CAN NOT SEE ANY ISSUES.
TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP FOR STANDARD OIL CHANGE. WHILE COMPLETING INSPECTION FORM THEY INDICATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN IS LEAKING. THEY RECOMMEND IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT FOR $1,300.00. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAD 57,000 MILES ON IT. I TOLD THEM NOT TO REPLACE IT. THEY STATED YOU COULD HAVE A SMALL LEAK FOR MANY YEARS BUT IT WILL EVENTUALLY GET WORSE AND LEADING TO STEERING FAILURE. I ASKED ABOUT THIS BEING UNDER WARRANTY BUT OF COURSE I WAS 2 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF MY WARRANTY. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT SINCE THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT WITH NO ISSUES YET. I AM HOPING THAT A RECALL WILL BE RECOMMENDED FOR THIS VEHICLE. I MOSTLY DO HIGHWAY DRIVING WITH THIS VEHICLE AND PUT ON 70 MILES A DAY. HOPEFULLY ENOUGH UNFORTUNATE INDIVIDUALS HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND WE CAN GET A RECALL STARTED.
12,000 MILES STABILITY CONTROL , AND ABS LIGHT CAME ON SERVICE REQUIRED. LIGHT STAYS ON 5-10 MINUTES GOES OUT RANDOMLY DEALERS BAFFLED FOR THE CAUSE, DEALER SAYS UNLESS THEY CAN DUPLICATE IT, WARNING LIGHT TO COME ON THEY CAN'T SERVICE. ,I WENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT MIDAS THEY CHECKED IT SAID IT WAS THE WHEEL BEARING SENSOR THAT GOVERNS THAT I REPLACE THE WHEEL BEARING , OKAY FOR A WHILE NOW BACK ON AGAIN IN LESS THAN A THOUSAND MILES. STABILITY CONTROL IS VERY VALUABLE FOR CARS NOWADAYS SO THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY FACTOR IF STABILITY CONTROL IS LOST. REPORTS ON THE INTERNET OF PEOPLE REPLACING ALL THE WHEEL BEARINGS ON THE FRONT HUBS AND EVERYTHING AND STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM SO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. *TR

MY 2013 CHEVY IMPALA IS HAVING BIG ISSUES MAKING LEFT TURNS. THERE IS A GRINDING SOUND AND THE CAR HESITATES TO ACCELERATE. WHILE THESE PROBLRMS OCCUR I AM GETTING WARNINGS ON THE DASH THAT SAY SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, AND THE ABS LIGHT IS ON. STARTING TO NOT FEEL SAFE TO BE IN THIS VEHICLE. ALSO HAD IT CHECKED TWICE BY TWO DIFFERENT AUTO SHOPS AND THEY CANT SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM.
MY CAR BASICALLY JUST CUTS OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING ALL KINDS OF SIGNS KEEP POPPING UP ON THE DASH THEN THEY'LL GO AWAY. IT HAS TOLD BE TO SERVICE MY STABILITY TRACK AND I WENT TO GET SERVICE AND THE PEOPLE SAY THAT'S NOT A PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE BUT IT ON THE MACHINE AND IT SAYS THERE IS NO PROBLEM I JUST DON'T KNOW ALL I DO KNOW IS WHEN I'M DRIVING IT CUTS OFF AND THEN SOME TIMES WHEN I'M DRIVING THE ENGINE POWER GETS REDUCED THEN I CAN'T GO OVER LIKE 20 IT DID THIS WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY I THANK GOD I DIDN'T GET HIT!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INDEPENDENTLY FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
WHILE DRVING AT ANY SPEED THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVATED RESULTING IN REDUCED POWER, LEFT SIDE NOISE FROM WHEEL AND RUMBLING IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL CHEVY SHOP AND PAID OVER 500 DOLLARS TO REPLACE "GYRO". COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT MY ALTERNATOR WAS BAD. HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND THE ALTERNATOR HAS NO PROBLEMS OR CODES WHEN IT WAS CHECKED. THE ONLY CODES THAT SHOWS POINT TO THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM!!!. FUSTRATED WITH CHEVY DO TO LACK OF CONCERN. CONSIDERING THE LEMON LAW AS A MEANS OF FIXING THE PROBLEM. THIS IS MY LAST CHEVY PRODUCT!!!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN SPEED WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS BEING DEPRESSED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, AN ABNORMAL NOISE COULD BE HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 39,000.
WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURN LEFTMOST OR RIGHTMOST AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE, YOU CAN'T TURN ON THE IGNITION BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL IS STUCK. WITHOUT REMOTE START, MY CAR WILL ALWAYS BE STUCK ON THE SIDEWAY OF A SLOPE.
OFTEN WHEN I ACCELERATE MY 2013 CHEVY IMPALA ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING, THE CAR WILL MAKE A GRINDING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE WILL HESITATE TO ACCELERATE AND ERRORS APPEAR FOR STABILITY TRACK AND ABS. THIS OCCURS ON BOTH PAVED AND SAND ROADS AND IN ANY ROAD CONDITION. I TOOK IT IN TO MY DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A CENSOR (FOR ABOUT $300 BUCKS WHEN IT WAS ALL SAID AND DONE.) WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR ABOUT A WEEK, NOW IT'S BACK AND IN MANY TRAFFIC SITUATIONS, VERY DANGEROUS. IT STARED AT ABOUT 30K MILES.
FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS MY CAR IS HAVING MAJOR TROUBLE. IT STARTED WITH ME HEARING A GRINDING NOISE WHEN I MADE LEFT TURNS. THIS HAS NOW DEVELOPED TO MAKING A NOISE WHEN I MAKE LEFT TURNS TO MAKING IT WHEN I AM BACKING OUT, AND OCCASIONALLY STALLING WHEN PULLING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT. THIS HAS PUT ME IN SOME DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. ABOUT A MONTH AGO 2 LIGHT AND 2 MESSAGES CAME UP ON MY DASH. THEY WERE SERVICE STABILITRAK AND SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST. MY BRAKE LIGHT AND MY TRACTION LIGHT ARE ALSO ON. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY HUB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE PART REPLACED AND I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. NOONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
I WAS PULLING OUT ON HIGHWAY 59,CAR MADE A GRINDING NOISE AS I TURNED LEFT,TRACTION STABILITRAC AND ABS FLASHED,CHANGED THE WHEEL BEARING AND HARNESS,STABILITRAK STILL COMING ON NOISE IS STILL THERE...CAR WILL LOCK UP ON YOU IN TRAFFIC.I HAVE CUSTODY OF MY GRANDKIDS AND NOW HAVE NO WAY TO TAKE THEM TO SCHOOL...BECAUSE MY CAR WITH 43,300 MILES ON IT IS UNSAFE
I BOUGHT A 2013 CHEVY IMPALA. I HAVE NOT HAD THE CAR FOR EVEN A YEAR YET, AND EVERY TIME I TURN THE CAR ON YOU CAN HEAR A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. EVERY TIME I TURN THE CAR ON OR OFF. I CHECKED WITH A MECHANIC, HE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHOLE DASH BOARD IN ORDER TO FIX IT! I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL! I PREVIOUSLY HAD A 2008 ALSO IMPALA AS WELL, AND IT DID THE SAME THING. THE REASON I BOUGHT THIS 2013 IMPALA IS BECAUSE I LIKE CHEVY'S, BUT I DIDN'T THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN THAT IS A SHAME THAT YOUR COMPANY DOESN'T DO A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM.
I HAVE A 2013 IMPALA, THE TRACTION CONTROL KICKS IN WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS FROM A STOP. THIS IS MY THIRD IMPALA; 2003, 2009 AND THIS 2013. ALL THREE WITH THE SAME ISSUE SO THIS IS MY LAST IMPALA. HEY GM, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LUPIENT CHEVROLET (1601 SOUTHTOWN DR, BLOOMINGTON, MN) FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE STEERING GEAR WAS LEAKING FLUID. THE STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE WAS PREVIOUSLY DISCOVERED THIS YEAR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDERGOING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,080. *TT CONSUMER STATED HE HAD A 27 INSPECTION COMPLETED AND DEALER STATED THERE WAS A SMALL LEAK WITH A MILAGE OF 33,393. STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED AT 20,080 MILES AND AGAIN AT 13,893 MILES. CONSUMER FEELS THERE IS A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING ISSUE.*JB
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP WHILE TURNING LEFT, ABS ENGAGES AND BRAKES LEFT FRONT WHEEL CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION STOPPING THE CAR IN INTERSECTIONS WITHOUT WARNING. SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE ABS AND SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST MESSAGES ALSO APPEAR ON DASHBOARD MESSAGE CENTER. ALL WARNING LIGHTS RESET WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, UNTIL A LEFT TURN IS MADE WHILE ACCELERATING AGAIN, AND THE ABOVE ISSUES OCCUR AGAIN.
MY 2013 IMPALA LTZ WILL SUDDENLY DECELERATE TO AROUND 35 MPH AND HESITATE WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS. THREE MESSAGES POP UP, "TRACTION CONTROL OFF", "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" AND "SERVICE STABILITRAK". THIS HAPPENED TO ME A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I BROUGHT IT RIGHT IN TO GLOBAL CHEVY IN NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ. THEY FIXED AND IT SEEMED FINE BUT NOW HAPPENING AGAIN BUT THIS TIME, I ALMOST GOT T-BONED IN AN INTERSECTION. I HAVE FOUND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY PEOPLE IN MANY DIFFERENT FORUMS. NOW I NEED TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AGAIN. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!!!!!!! I ALMOST GOT SMASHED AND I WILL BE MAKING SURE THIS IS DOCUMENTED IN AS MANY FORUMS AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS A CHEVY PROBLEM. I GOT CHARGED OVER $650 TO FIX THIS LAST TIME!!!!!!!! I AM UPSET AS HELL AND NOT REALLY SURE WHAT TO MAKE OF THIS. I NEED TO DRIVE MY KIDS AROUND IN THIS TIME BOMB NOW? I REFUSE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS SUCH A DANGER TO OPERATE. SECONDARY ISSUE IS THAT SOMETIMES WHEN BACKING OUT OF A SPOT IN REVERSE, APPLYING DRIVE AND TRYING TO MOVE FORWARD, THE SOUNDS LIKE GEARS GRINDING THAT GOES AWAY IF I STRAIGHTEN THE WHEEL OUT. WTH IS THAT?? THIS HAPPENED AT THE LIGHT ON CENTENNIAL AVENUE IN PISCATAWAY NJ CROSSING OVER S WASHINGTON AVE. WAS STATIONARY, THEN IN MOTION. THE AUTO DECELERATION HAPPENED WHILE AT SPEED OF 35 MPH AND THEN IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS. I HAVE AN INVOICE FOR THE FIRST REPAIR. I WOULD APPRECIATE EXPEDITED HELP ON THE MATTER.
WHEN BACKING OUT AND TURNING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT IT MAKES A GRINDING SOUND. THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A MONTH.
