WHILE AT RED LIGHTS ALL ELECTRONICS WILL TURN OFF. THE CAR HAS TO BE RESTARTED. THE LIGHTS, LOCKS, AND SCREENS GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING.
SIDE MIRROR LIGHT STAYS ON WITH CAR OFF...ALSO SHUT DOWN OF HEATER INSTRUMENT LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR USED AT A DEALERSHIP. BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO FIX ALL PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. I WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON DUE TO A ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING FOR A PART THAT'S ON BACKORDER AND THE PART NEEDED IS GM #12633613 ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH MYSELF, I DISCOVERED THIS PART FAILS COMMONLY ON MY VEHICLE MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AS WELL AS 2014-2015 CHEVY MALIBUS PRODUCED WITH THE SAME ENGINE. GM NOR ANY AFTERMARKET COMPANIES HAVE THIS PART IN STOCK. I'VE CONTACTED GM AND WAS ONLY TOLD THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THIS PART AVAILABLE. HOWEVER, A FEW OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY GM THAT THIS PART IS DISCONTINUED. THERE ARE PEOPLE WAITING MONTHS FOR THIS TO BE FIXED AND GM SEEMS NOT TO WANTING TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION. I WOULD GET ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT THEN I WOULD HAVE TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THE LOANER CAR I'M CURRENTLY DRIVING FROM THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS GM'S PROBLEM AND THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION SENSOR IS CORRODING AND SHORTING OUT. IT IS CAUSING OTHER SYSTEMS ON THE CAR TO SHOW ERROR MESSAGES AND FAILURES LIKE THE AIR BAG AND TRACTION SYSTEM WELL DRIVING. IT ALSO KEEPS BLOWING FUSES. THIS SENSOR WAS NEVER PROPERLY PROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS. IT ALSO COST OVER $800 TO REPLACE ONE OF THEM. I KNOW THIS IS THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEM BEFORE AND IT IS HAPPENING THE EXACT SAME WAY.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE GAVE ME A 'SERVICE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM' WARNING. A FEW MORE MILES DOWN THE ROAD, I SMELLED AN ELECTRICAL SMELL ALMOST LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING. LUCKILY, I MADE IT HOME AND AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND I'M THANKFUL MY 1 YEAR OLD SON WASN'T IN THE CAR WITH ME AT THAT TIME.
WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN- SIDE DETECTION MESSAGE APPEARS ON DASH. LEFT SIDE DETECTION INDICATOR STAYS ON. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. SERVICE TECHNICIAN INFORMS ME THE DETECTION MODULE IS CORRODED, LIKELY FROM MOISTURE. THE STATEMENT READS TWO "MISCELLANEOUS BODY ELECTRICAL- REPAIR" RECOMMENDATIONS TOTALLING $1104.91. I CAN NOT AFFORD THIS. I ASK IF WE CAN DISABLE OR TURN OFF THE SENSOR AND I AM TOLD NO. I ASK IF NEGLECTING TO REPLACE THE CORRODED MODULE CAN CAUSE FURTHER DISRUPTIONS WITH THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING SAFETY SYSTEMS, AND I AM TOLD YES, IT CAN. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. THE MODULE SHOULD NEVER BE MADE IN A WAY WHERE IT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY GIVEN ITS PLACEMENT IN THE REAR BUMPER. THIS IS NEGLIGENT DESIGN AND COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR SAFETY, THE USER, OR THE PRODUCT. I HOPE I HAVENT LEFT ANYTHING IMPORTANT OUT. I AM TRYING TO BE FACTUAL AND KEEP MY FRUSTRATION ASIDE.
I WAS RIDING ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 60MPH WHEN MY CAR REDUCED SPEED TO 34MPH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH A STABILITRAK WARNING BLINKING. I ALSO HAD A BIT OF SHAKE IN MY VEHICLE WHEN IT CAME ON AND SLOWED DOWN.
STABILITRAK SERVICE NOTIFICATION ON DASH APPEARED ALONG WITH LOST POWER STEERING, ABS LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON.
SIDE DETECTION LIGHTS DON'T WORK AND FOLLOWED ALL THE IDEAS TO MAKE THEM WORK OTHER THAN REPLACING THEM.WAS GOING DOWN THE ROUND AND WAS GOING TO MAKE A TURN AND THE LIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING. THE NEXT TIME THEY WORK ,NOW THERE OUT COMPLETELY.
I HAVE A TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON, ALSO THE ABS LIGHT IS ON, AND I GET A STABILITRACK WARNING.
SIDE DETECTION WARNING SYSTEM FAILED AND AS A RESULT WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE ELECTRICAL CLUSTER AND AIR BAG SYSTEM ALERT THEFT ALERT STARTING BEEPING FLASHING ONLY HALF OF THE STUFF WORKS WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT I CANT DRIVE THE CAR AIR BAGS COULD DEPLOY AT ANYTIME TRUNK COULD OPEN DOORS COME UNLOCKED YOU CANT SEE HOW FAST YOUR GOING SO MY CAR IS PARKED IN A GARAGE UNDRIVABLE
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY DELICATE TO THE TOUCH. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL EASY TO MOVE WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL THAT MAY LEAD TO AN OVER CORRECTING AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. ALSO WHEN DRIVING THE BACK WHEELS WILL AWAY SIDE TO SIDE WHEN HITTING BUMPS CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO MOVE CAUSING THE DRIVER TO TURN IT THE OPPOSITE WAY FOR THE VEHICLE TO STAY IN IT'S LANE, HOWEVER IF THE DRIVER DOES NOT HAVE CONTROL IT MAY CAUSE A CRASH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, ALL THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING INDICATORS BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO TURN OFF. THE CONTACT HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FELDMAN CHEVROLET OF LANSING (2801 E MICHIGAN AVE, LANSING, MI 48912, (517) 489-4858) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SAFETY SENSORS WERE INOPERABLE AND THERE WAS WATER INTRUSION IN THE SIDE SENSOR MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG AND SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED DIFFICULTY STARTING AND EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL DARKENED, THE RPMS PROVIDED INCORRECT READINGS, AND THE TURN SIGNALS FAILED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR; HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD FRONT VENTED HEATED SEATS AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS 15V465000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
WHEN DRIVING THE WARNING SENSOR CAME ON ON SAYING POWER STEERING AND STAB TRACK PROBLEM. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND CAME INCHES FROM AN ACCIDENT. MY STEERING WAS NOT NORMAL AND FOUND IT VERY HARD TO STEER AROUND CAR IN FRONT OF ME THAT SLAMMED ON BREAKS. THEN I PULLED OVER TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND GOT WARNING THAT FRONT CAMERA WASN'T WORKING...I DON'T HAVE A FRONT CAMERA! THEN WHEN I BACKED OUT OF THAT DRIVEWAY IT GAVE WARNING THAT MY REAR CAMERA WARNING SENSORS WERE NOT WORKING. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR.
SIDE SECTION DOESN'T WORK LIGHT ON MIRROR IS CONSTANTLY ON TODAY EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASH WAS ON THE HEADLIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD NONE OF THE GAUGES WORKED NO HEATER CONTROLS OR HEAT WAS NOT WORKING THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ALL SERVICE REMINDERS CAME UP ON THE DISPLAY THE RADIO ALSO DOESN'T WORK TRACTION CONTROL AND STABILITRAC DOESN'T WORK!! AIR BAGS AND HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY IS MY BIGGEST SAFETY CONCERN!! THE CAR DID THIS STATIONARY AND ALSO DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD!
BOUGHT CAR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO HAD 52,000 MILES ON IT SEEMED TO BE A DECENT CAR UNTIL TODAY DEC 1, 2019 DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MILES AN HOUR WITH ICE COVERED ROADS POWER STEERING WENT OUT , AND STABILITRAK, A LONG WITH ABS ALL AT ONCE AND PROMPTED SERVICE LIGHTS IN DASH AND INFO SCREEN POWER STEERING WAS SO STIFF I COULD BARELY TURN OR CONTROL CAR AND ALMOST SLAMMED INTO MEDIAN LUCKILY NOT HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE DROVE TO NEAREST EXIT AND TURNED CAR OFF TURNED BACK ON AFTER ABOUT 7 MIN AND STILL SAME THINGS IN DASH THANKFULLY THIS DIDN'T END WORSE MY CAR CAN NOW BARELY STEER AND SERVICE LIGHTS ARE ON GOING TO TRY TO SEE ABOUT TALKING TO SOMEONE AT DEALERSHIP TOMMARO IT SEEMS A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND IT LOSS POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO NELSON HALL CHEVROLET IN MERIDIAN, MS. THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED AN EXHAUST SOLENOID PART NUMBER 12633613. IT WAS SITTING THERE AT THE CHEVY DEALER FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. THEY TOLD ME TO COME GET IT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THE PART WAS GOING TO BE AVAILABLE. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GMC SINCE DECEMBER OF 2019. GMC DOESN'T KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR!! WHEN I SPOKE WITH GMC LAST, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD BE GIVING ME A CALL BACK IN 24-48 HOURS. IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS AND GMC WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS. MY CAR IS STILL BROKEN AS OF TODAY MARCH 18, 2020. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
MY WIFE WAS DROPPING OUR KIDS OFF AT SCHOOL AND OWN HER WAY BACK HOME THE CAR STARTED SMOKING. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A WALMART. I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO A ELITE AUTO REPAIR SHOP IN CYPRESS, TX. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR NEEDED A ENGINE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE BUT THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART. THIS HAPPENED IN NOVEMBER 2019 AND IT'S NOW FEBRUARY 2020 AND THE PART STILL HASN'T COME IN. WHILE LOOKING FOR THE PART MYSELF I FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH THE SAME ISSUE. BECAUSE THIS WAS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION I'M NOW FORCED TO RENT CARS UNTIL I CAN GET MY CAR FIXED AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHEN I'M GOING TO GET MY CAR BACK.
MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO BE INSPECTED BY COURTESY CHEVROLET. THEY CLEARLY DOCUMENTED THAT I DID HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THERE HAS BEEN PAST SAFETY RECALLS ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CRACKING. ACCORDING THE DOCUMENT THAT I WAS GIVEN IT CLEARLY STATES THAT IT WAS A WELDING FAILURE. THE PART THAT IS CURRENTLY ON THE CAR IS THE ORIGINAL PART THAT WAS PUT ON THE PART WHEN IT WAS BEING MADE. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED HOWEVER EVERYONE SAYS THAT ITS A FACTORY PROBLEM AND SHOULD LET THEM FIX THIS. MY CAR IS STARTING TO WEAR OUT THE LONGER I WAIT AND NEED FOR THE PROBLEM TO BE CORRECTED BY GM. *TR

WHILE OPENING THE SUNROOF THE SUNSHADE DISLODGED FROM SLIDER CAUSING THE COPPER METAL RETRACTABLE PIECE TO SNAP LOUDLY AND HIT ME IN THE HEAD ASIDE FROM SCARING ME NEAR DEATH AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE SUNSHADE NOW SAGS BLOCKING THE VISIBILITY OF THE REARVIEW MIRROR AS WELL THE SUNROOF WILL NOT WORK AS THE SUNSHADE CAN'T OPEN.
2014 CHEVY IMPALA NEEDS A ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE PART# 12633613. GM SAYS THERE IS NO ETA ON THE PART BUT DEALER SAYS PART IS NOT BEING PRODUCED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, THE CAR STUTTERS DURING MOTION ALSO WILL SHAKE SUDDENLY. ALSO, HAS A LACK OF ACCELERATION.
MY SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING AND CAUSING ALL MY OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ACT UP.
THE BRAKE LIGHT IN THE WINDOW FLASHES ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME AND EVEN WHEN CAR IS PARKED AND SHUT OFF IT FLASHES AND WHEN IT IS IN MOTION. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT WORK AND DEVICE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL WARNING IS ON AND SAYS IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 28000 MILES ON IT.
OIL CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE FAILURE CAUSING LOSS OF POWER, INSTABILITY AT ALL SPEEDS, AND SURGING OF ENGINE. GM DOES NOT HAVE ANY PARTS TO REPAIR THIS ITEM AND DOES NOT HAVE A ETA ON WHEN THEY WILL GET THEM, THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET OPTIONS AVAILIBLE EITHER DUE TO THE RATE OF FAILURE. GM PART# 12633613
THE CAR HAS INTERMITTENT VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. IT WILL RUN FINE AND THEN THE NEXT TIME THE KEY FOB WONT OPEN THE DOOR, NO INTERIOR LIGHTS, IT WONT START...ABSOLUTELY NO POWER TO ANYTHING IN THE CAR. IT IS AS IF THE ENTIRE BATTERY WAS REMOVED. THEN LATER, IT WILL START RIGHT UP. TRYING TO JUMP START IT DOES NOTHING.THIS HAS LEFT ME COMPLETELY STRANDED SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED 3 TIMES. BUT EACH TIME WHEN I GET IT TO THE MECHANIC, IT STARTS RIGHT UP. OTHER TIMES, THE CAR RUNS FINE BUT THE DOOR LOCKS WILL UNLOCK AND LOCK ON THEIR OWN RAPIDLY OVER AND OVER. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHILE SITTING WITH THE CAR ON AND IN PARK. OTHER TIMES WHEN TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC, THE ENGINE SPUTTERS, THE RADIO DISPLAY FLASHES ON AND OFF, AND THE AC BLOWER CUTS OUT ALL AT THE SAME TIME. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE SPUTTERING STALLS THE ACCELERATION WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. OTHER TIMES JUST THE RADIO AND THE DISPLAY WILL GO OFF - SOMETIMES FOR DAYS & SOMETIMES JUST A FEW MINUTES, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS FINE. OTHER TIMES THE SPEEDOMETER WILL COMPLETELY STOP WORKING AND THE GAS GAGE REGISTERS NOTHING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE ON LONG DRIVES SO THAT I CAN'T TELL HOW FAST I AM GOING OR WHETHER I HAVE ENOUGH GAS. IT WILL THEN START BACK UP, BUT MAY BE DAYS LATER. I TOOK IT IN TO BE FIXED. THEY TOOK THE COMPUTER OUT FROM UNDER THE REAR WHEEL WELL AND SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. I DROVE THE CAR WITHOUT A COMPUTER FOR 8 MONTHS BUT BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEMS CONTINUING, I TOOK IT BACK IN AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW COMPUTER. THE CAR HAD TOO MANY MILES FOR THIS TO BE COVERED SO I PAID OVER $1500 FOR THIS TO BE FIXED. NOW IT IS 3 WEEKS AFTER GETTING THE NEW COMPUTER INSTALLED. ALL OF THE PROBLEMS HAVE CONTINUED. AND AGAIN TODAY, I WAS STRANDED WHEN I WENT OUT AFTER WORK AND FOUND IT DEAD AGAIN. IT IS BACK IN THE DEALER AGAIN.
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I CAN DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON AND ON COMING VEHICLES EVER FLASH THEIR HEADLIGHTS HIGH BEAM ARE AS BRIGHT AS THE LOW BEAMS SHOULD BE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WITH THIS POOR LIGHTING. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL, CHECKING THE INTERNET THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS FILE WITH NHTSA
WATER LEAK FORMING MOLD THROUGHOUT CAR. DEALER REFUSED TO CHECK VEHICLE. HEALTH HAZARD. VARIOUS COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE ON MAKE OF CAR. STANDING WATER IN TRUNK.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IN THE VEHICLE CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER AND THEN REGAIN POWER WHILE ACCELERATING AND ALSO WHILE STILL IN MOTION EVEN WHILE NOT CURRENTLY ACCELERATING. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A ROCKER ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART (#12633613) IS NOT AVAILABLE AND THERE IS NO ESTIMATED TIME PER GM WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN. MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SAFE TO DRIVE AND SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE OCTOBER 15TH 2019, IT IS CURRENTLY JANUARY 8TH 2020. THIS PART IS AN ISSUE FOR ALL 2014 AND 2015 IMPALA AND MALIBU VEHICLES WITH THE ENGINE TYPE IN THE 2014 IMPALA LS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REFERRED TO THE GM PART AS BEING DEFECTIVE YET GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. GM REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE PART AND WILL NOT EVEN CONFIRM IF IT WILL EVER BE PRODUCED AGAIN. THIS ISSUE IS EFFECTING THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AND GM'S FAILURE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IS LEAVING THE OWNERS OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES DRIVING UNSAFE VEHICLES. GM NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL OR MANUFACTURE MORE OF THE PART IF IT IS SIMPLY A PRODUCTION ISSUE (WHICH THEY WILL NOT CONFIRM OR DENY).
Blind zone alert sensor failed due to manufacturing error that lets water into the sensor and corrodes it and causes it to smoke and potentially catch fire
I WAS TRAVELING FORWARD GOING ABOUT 25 MPH ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WHEN SUDDENLY, AFTER GOING OVER A DIP, THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO DROP ON THE FRONT RIGHT HAND SIDE. SIMULTANEOUSLY, THE SIDE AIRBAGS (BOTH FRONT AND BACK) DEPLOYED. I COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, BUT LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AWAY FROM THE ACCIDENT. WHEN I LOOKED AT MY FRONT TIRES THEY WERE NO LONGER TURNED THE SAME DIRECTION BUT THERE WAS NO NOTICEABLE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END, TIRES, OR RIMS AT ALL. THE ONLY SYMPTOM THAT COMES TO MIND BEFORE THIS INCIDENT HAPPENING WAS THE FRONT RIGHT LOW PRESSURE TIRE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON. I WOULD PUT AIR IN IT, AND FIGURED I MUST HAVE RAN OVER A NAIL AND HAD A SLOW LEAK. DUE TO HOW VIOLENT THE ACCIDENT FELT GOING ONLY 25 MPH, IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE TO OTHER PEOPLE. IF I'D BEEN GOING 50 MPH OR MORE IT WOULD HAVE MOST DEFINITELY ROLLED, DAMAGING THE VEHICLE TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO REALLY IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, GOING NO MORE THAN 25 MPH WITH MY TWO TWO YEAR OLDS IN THEIR CAR SEATS BEHIND ME. SUDDENLY AND SIMULTANEOUSLY, ALL FOUR OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED (FRONT AND BACK), KNOCKING MY GIRLS SEATS TOGETHER, THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR DROPPED DOWN AND STARTED GRINDING ON THE WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THANKFULLY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, AND WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE FRONT, THE CAR DOOR SHUT, AND FOR THE FIRST TIME, AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED ME OUT, MY KIDS INSIDE, WITH ITS OWN KEY AND MY PURSE AS WELL.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HUB SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,926.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD I NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING DRIVE WITH CAUTION, STABILTRACK, AND ABS WARNINGS WAS ON THE DASHBOARD. IT BECAME A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER. WHEN I GOT HOME I TURN IT OFF AND LET IT SET FOR A FEW MINUTES AND TURN IT BACK ON, STILL DISPLAYED WARNING. I CALLED KOOL CHEVROLET AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN THE NEXT MORNING. THEY DETERMINED THE REAR HUB WAS CRACKED. AFTER THE $495.14, IT SEEMS TO WORK LIKE USUAL. MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS WAS AN ISSUE WITH OTHER 2014 IMPALA'S, IT SHOULD BE A RECALL.
THE AREA IN MY TRUNK WHERE THE SPARE TIRE IS KEPT, KEEPS FILLING UP WITH WATER. IT HAS ALSO PRODUCE AN ODOR THAT AS THE ENTIRE CAR SMELLING LIKE MILDEW. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE PAST YEAR.
FAULTY ROCKER ARM OIL CONTROL VALVE, CODE P2646. GM REFUSES TO RECALL THOUGH IT'S KNOWN ISSUE. GM DOES NOT HAVE PART NOR ARE THEY PRODUCING IT, BUT THERE'S NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIX IT AND MAKE MY CAR SAFE IF THEY WON'T MAKE THE PART? I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR THE SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT MESSAGE ON MY IMPALA AND I DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE WORDING IN THE LETTER "OF IT BEING COVERED WITHIN 6 YEARS OF THE DATE YOUR VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE." I THOUGHT IT MEANT IT COULDN'T BE OLDER THAN 6 YEARS OLD BUT WASN'T SURE WHAT PLACED IN SERVICE MEANT AND ALSO NOT HAVE OVER 80,000 MILES ON IT. MY VEHICLE HAS ALMOST 26,000 AND MY DATE WAS SEPTEMBER 13 PER THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, SO WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED ANYMORE. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT IN AUGUST BUT HAD TO CANCEL IT AS MY MOM WAS JUST PUT INTO HOSPICE AT THAT POINT. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD PUT IN THE LETTER MY DATE OF ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE BUT IT WOULD MAKE IT A LOT EASIER TO UNDERSTAND. I AM HOPING THAT I CAN STILL HAVE IT FIXED AND NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT GM MADE INCORRECTLY. I WAS DRIVING IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR'S ENGINE POWER SHUT OFF, COULDN'T RESTART FOR SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. CALLED 911 AS A DISABLED VEHICLE IN CENTER OF HIGHWAY. STABILITYTRAK AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER WARNING CAME ON AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BROUGHT TO DEALER, WAS TOLD MANIFOLD BOLTS WERE LOOSE AND BATTERY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PAID DEALER $663. THE VERY NEXT MORNING SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN 3 TIMES BEFORE I GOT TO THE DEALER. AFTER RESEARCHING I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT GM IS NOT ADDRESSING. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN ENGINE SHUTS DOWN ON THE MIDDLE OF 4 LANE HIGHWAY! IS SOMEONE GOING TO HAVE TO BE KILLED BEFORE GM RECALLS THROTTLE BODY/ ACCELERATOR PROBLEM?
THE OUTBOARD DRIVERS SEAT BELT TENSION CABLE FAILED AT THE POINT WHERE THE CABLE WAS CRIMPED (PHOTOS ATTACHED) WHICH APPEARS TO BE THE SAME FAILURE WHY OUR CHEVY TRAVERSE IS CURRENTLY BEING RECALLED, RECALL WAS ISSUED FIVE YEARS AGO AND COVERED 1.4 MILLION CHEVROLET TRAVERSE, BUICK ENCLAVE, GMC ACADIA AND SATURN OUTLOOK VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN 2009 AND 2014. IN THIS CASE, THE SEATBELT SNAPPED WHILE THE BELT WAS BEING BUCKLED. THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT.
I HAD NOTICED THE EPB LIGHT COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY, FAR MORE OFTEN THAN EVERY 50 KEY CYCLES, AND BEGAN EXPERIENCING A SIGNIFICANT DECREASE IN ACCELERATION, POOR BRAKING, BRAKE DUST BUILDUP, UNEVEN TIRE WEAR, BOGGING DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT AND WHEN ACCELERATING OUT OF A SLOWDOWN AND/OR TURN. I WOULD ALSO CONSTANTLY SMELL BRAKE DUST AND TIRE RUBBER AND FELT MY BRAKES WOULD BECOME EXTREMELY HOT TO THE TOUCH AFTER SHORT TRIPS. I OBSERVED THE OUTER REAR BRAKE PADS THROUGH THE CALIPER AND THERE SEEMED TO BE DECENT PAD LEFT. HOWEVER I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES AND WAS TOLD EVERY TIME THAT THERE WAS NO NEED TO REPLACE THE PADS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY SOFTWARE FLASHES TO CORRECT ANY KNOWN OR UNKNOWN ISSUES, AND WAS ONCE TOLD THAT MY BRAKES NEEDED TO BE BLED AND AFTER HAVING THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE THEM WAS TOLD THE ISSUE SHOULD BE CORRECTED. I HAD FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH AUTOMOTIVE BACKGROUNDS LOOK AT MY BRAKES AND TELL ME THERE SEEMED TO BE NO VISIBLE ISSUES. I FINALLY DECIDED TO HAVE A LOOK MYSELF ONE DAY. AFTER HOISTING THE VEHICLE UP, REMOVING THE REAR TIRE AND INSPECTING THE CALIPER AND PADS, I REALIZED THAT THE EPB HAD ACTUALLY HEAT/RUST-WELDED ITSELF TO THE INNER BRAKE PAD WHICH WAS COMPLETELY WORN WITH NO PAD WHATSOEVER. THE EPB WAS ACTUALLY UNABLE TO RETRACT, EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT WAS OFF, BECAUSE THE METAL PLATE ON THE BACK OF THE PAD HAD BEEN FUSED TO THE EPB. I HAD TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN, AND WAS INEVITABLY TASKED WITH CORRECTING THE ISSUE MYSELF. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON NEW PADS, ROTORS, CALIPER PINS, GREASE, TIRES, ETC. BECAUSE OF THE PERSISTING ISSUE. WHEN I SEARCHED MY VEHICLE BY VIN IT TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS, BUT AFTER SEARCHING BY YEAR/MAKE/MODEL I FINALLY FOUND THE RECALL INVOLVING THE EPB CAUSING DRAG AFTER FAILING TO RETRACT. THIS ISSUE CONTINUES TODAY.

THE CAR SLOWS DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY AND THE POWER STEERING THEN LOCKS UP UNTIL YOU DISMISS ALL OF THE CODES. THEN YOU CAN HEAR A CLICKING THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE CAR IS TRYING TO RESTART. IT HAPPENS SPORADICALLY. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND HE STATED TO CHECK FOR RECALLS BECAUSE THERE HAVE BEEN QUITE A FEW IMPALAS BEING BROUGHT IN FOR THE SAME REASON. I CONTACTED CHEVY AND THEY STATED THAT THERE ARE NO KNOWN RECALLS FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL.
"SERVICE SIDE DETECTION" COMES ON THE DASH EVERYTIME THE CAR IS STARTED. RECENTLY I TRIED TO ENTER MY VEHICLE AND THE FOB DID NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. ONCE IT DID, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF STARTING THE VEHICLE IT FINALLY WORKED, BUT THE GAUGES KEPT TURNING ON AND OFF EVEN WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AS WELL AS THE DOOR LOCKS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, BUT IT WAS QUITE CONCERNING WHILE DRIVING.
THEY RECENTLY HAD A RECALL FOR THE 2014 CHEVY IMPALA FOR THE BRAKES NOT DISENGAING THE ROTORS CAUSING NOT VERY GOOD DRIVABLE CONDTIONS, BUT WHEN I CALLED AND HAVE THEM MY GIN NUMBER IT SAYS MINE DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL BUT MY CAR IS DOING THE VERY EXACT THING. AND IT DOES THIS WHILE DRIVING AND LIKE IT STATED CAN CAUSE YOUR WHEEL TO BURN AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPEN TO MY CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,800.
