TRUNK TAKING ON WATER CAUSING MILDEW EVERYWHERE! I JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE AND TRYING TO CLEAN THE MESS UP BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE/WHY IS THIS HAPPENING AND IF CAN BE FIXED AND THE REPAIR COST.
At about 86,000 miles I began getting a grinding noise from the left front side the wheel seems to lock up associated with a grabbing that I can feel when turning the steering wheel to the left. When this happens the Service Stability Trac and Service Trac Control indicators sometime appear but not always. I took my car to a GM Dealer locally a diagnostic performed said it was wheel hub assembly (bearings). Due to cost of dealer labor I took car to my local mechanic at his private garage. He performed a diagnostic and confirmed the assembly should be replaced. The assembly was replaced at my cost and has since been replaced twice more as warranty replacement because the mechanic thought the assemblies may have been defective, this after only a couple thousand miles or so on the replaced assembly. Typically, it happens at low speed, and mostly when turning left. It becomes a problem when I'm driving in busy traffic and turning at an intersection because it will just lock up and not let me go, stopping me in the middle of the intersection subjecting me to the possibility of being crashed into by other drivers. It is very frightening when this happens.
MY 2014 CHEVEROLET IMPALA WITH 57,000 MILES HAS A TRANSMISSION SLIP/STUTTER ON GRADUAL ACCELERATION IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN IN 2ND 3RD 4TH GEAR. SOME TIMES IT SHIFTS VERY HARD OR ACTS LIKE IT DOESN'T WANT TO SHIFT. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY IN CITY DRIVING WHERE IT HAS TO SELECT GEARS MORE FREQUENTLY
I JUST GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALER AND NOT EVEN A DAY LATER AFTER THEY HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. BUT AS I AM RIDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY I WAS GOING ABOUT 65 AND MY CAR SHUT AND CAME BACK ON. I LOST CONTROL OF MY STEERING WHEEL, THEN THE CAR STARTED DRIVING NORMAL. ONCE I ARRIVED TO MY JOB AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE IGNITION LIGHTS ALONG WITH THE SIDE PANEL LIGHTS WAS BLANKING BUT NOTHING ELSE WAS ON. I COULDN'T PUT MY WINDOWS UP AND THE CAR WOULDN'T CUT ON SO I LEFT IT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND WALKED BACK OUTSIDE AFTER 5 MINUTES BECAUSE I NOTICED ALL OF MY OUTSIDE LIGHTS WHERE ON, AND AT THIS TIME. I WAS ABLE TO CUT MY CAR ON AND OFF BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN I GET READY TO LEAVE. I NEED SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME SO I CAN GET THIS FIX BECAUSE ITS BECOMING ANNOYING AND I AM A DISABLED VETERAN AND ITS WORKING MY MENTAL.
I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE AND CUT OF MY CAR. AFTER OPENING THE DOOR MY SEAT WOULDN'T MOVE FORWARD LIKE IT ALWAYS DOES. THAT'S WHEN MY DASH BOARD GAVE ME AN ERROR MESSAGE STATING THAT I NEED TO ROLL MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOWN. SO, I DID THAT BUT THE NEXT DAY MY NAVIGATION SYSTEM WAS OFF ALONG WITH MY RADIO AND ON-STAR SYSTEM. SO I DROVE TO THE GAS STATION BEFORE HEADING TO WORK, AND WHEN I TRIED TO GET IN MY CAR THE POWER WAS OFF. I WENT UNDER-HOOD TO SEE IF THE BATTERY WAS LOOSE BUT IT WASN'T. SO I SHUT THE HOOD GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND EVERYTHING INCLUDING MY RADIO, GPS, AND ON-STAR CAME BACK ON. I HEADED OUT TO WORK AND THAT IS WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE ERROR MESSAGE SAID WARNING NO POWER STEERING. I GOT TO WORK SAFELY AND REALIZED I LEFT SOMETHING IN MY CAR AND THAT IS WHEN MY CAR SHOW SIGNS THAT IT WAS DEAD, BUT AFTER MANUALLY GETTING INTO MY CAR THE POWER CAME BACK ON. I ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH WATER GETTING INTO MY TRUNK WHICH IS WHAT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME WAS POSSIBLY CAUSING THE ISSUES. AS A DISABLED VETERAN THIS MESSES WITH MY PTSD AND FINANCIALLY I CANT AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING FOR AN ISSUE THAT I SEE MY 2014 IMPALA DRIVERS HAVE. I LOVE THE CAR BUT HATE THESE ISSUES. I NEED HELP WITH THIS CAR AND THE ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT STOP, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AND DROVE OFF. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES, INCLUDING LOWER BACK, CHEST AND NECK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOTALED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CALLED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,423.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING WITH THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. HESSERT CHEVROLET (6301 E ROOSEVELT BLVD, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19149), WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
WHEN TURNING LEFT, THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL. THIS GRINDING NOISE WILL ALSO TURN ON THE 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' AND 'SERVICE ABS' LIGHTS. THESE COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL SHOPS INCLUDING DEALERSHIPS LOOK AT IT AND ARE UNABLE TO FIX IT. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF OTHER FOLKS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME BODY STYLE FOR THE YEARS. IT IS TIME FOR GM AND CHEVROLET TO FIND A SOLUTION AND RECALL IT.
AROUND 3 YEARS AGO. 3 PARTS THE LANE DEPARTURE MODULES CONTROL ARE THE BLIND SPOT SENSORS, REAR BACKUP SENSORS AND A FRONT CAMERA. MY LANE DEPARTURE MODULES GOT WET AND MESSED UP MY CAR WHERE THERE WERE MANY THINGS GOING WRONG. WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY CAR SAID THE AIR BAG WENT OFF, THEFT WAS DETECTED, BLOWER FAN & TEMP CONTROLS WHERE GOING ON AND OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. 2 YEARS AGO GM AGREED TO REPLACE THE MODULES. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PROGRAMMING OF THE MODULES. THEY FINALLY GOT THEM TO PROGRAM. THE DAY I PICKED UP MY CAR I NOTICED ISSUES WITH THE SENSOR SYSTEM. THEY SAID TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT AND THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE. WITH THE BLIND SPOT SENSOR, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE GOES ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME, I HAVE PICTURES AND VIDEOS SHOWING WHERE I AM DRIVING WITH NO VEHICLE NEXT TO ME AT ALL WITH THE LIGHT FOR THE SENSOR SHINING BRIGHT. THE REAR BACKUP SENSOR DOES NOT WARM ME, LAST WEEK I DID NOT SEE A GARBAGE CAN BEHIND ME BECAUSE IT WAS LOWER THAN MY TRUNK AND I HIT THE CAN AND BROKE MY TAIL LIGHT. THE FRONT SENSOR THAT TELLS ME I AM GOING TO FAST FOR THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME GOES ON RANDOMLY WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME IS MORE THAN 100 FEET OR NO CAR AT ALL. I HAVE TAKING MY CAR TO 3 DEALERSHIPS 4 TIMES. ALL THE DEANSHIP'S SAY THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THEY DON'T GET A CODE. THERE IS NO CODE FOR THIS, NOT TO MENTION WHEN MY LANE DEPARTURE MODULES FAILED THERE WAS NO CODE FOR IT, THEY JUST STOPPED WORKING. THEY SAY IT IS UNDIAGNOSEABLE. GM SAW THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS AND ARE NOW SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE CAR JUST THE PICTURES AND VIDEOS. HOW CAN THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WHEN YOU SEE IN THE VIDEOS THE LIGHT IS ON AND NO CAR IS NEXT TO ME? HOW DO I LET MY 15-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER DRIVE THIS CAR WITH A LIGHT ON WHEN NO ONE IS THERE? PLEASE HELP ME! THE SAFETY AND SECURITY SYSTEM IS NOT SAFE AT ALL.
2014 IMPALA LTZ HELLO ALL I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING ANY INFO2 TO HELP MY ISSUE. THE SUNROOF SHADE TO MY IMPALA HAS CAME OFF ON ONE SIDE OF THE TRACK. IT IS HELD ON BY GLUE AND APPEARS LIKE NOTHING ELSE. DEALERSHIPS ARE NO HELP AND ONLY WANT TO SELL YOU MORE ON TOP OF YOUR ISSUE. I TRUELY BELIEVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO AN IMPALA WITH LESS THAN 58K ON IT. I HARDLY EVER USE THE SUN ROOF LUCKILY OR IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED SOONER. I TAKE THE BEST CARE OF THIS VEHICLE THAT I CAN. PLEASE HELP MYSELF AND ALL THE OTHERS DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE. TAKING APART THE WHOLE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE AND PAY 2,000 TO REPAIR A PAPER SHADE AND RE GLUE IT TO THE TRACK DOESNT SEEM FAIR. IM NOT SURE HOW MANY OF THESE WE CAN SEND INDIVIDUALLY BUT PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE DEC OF LAST YEAR. IT WAS BOUGHT NEW FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE I HAVE ALWAYS FELT SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION ALSO. I UNDERSTAND ITS A NEW DESIGN BUT THE VERY HARD SHIFTS INTO DRIVE AND JERKING INTO GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY MADE ME TAKE IT IN. AGAIN DEALERSHIPS ARE NO HELP. THEY WILL NOT TAKE THE TIME TO HELP YOU AND ONLY PUSH YOU TO THE SIDE. THE BEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRENTY WHEN I WENT IN LAST YEAR. IM NOT SURE ABOUT NOW. MY VEHICLE LITTERALLY ONLY HAS 574056 MILES ON IT. I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND IT IS KEPT IN STORAGE 90% OF THE TIME. PLEASE HELP
STARTED CAR WARNING CAME UP POWERSTEERING ISSUE THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK. SHUT CAR OFF LET SET FOR 15 MINUTES AND IT WORKED AT THAT TIME. I DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE TO CHECK, SHUT CAR OFF AND IT DID THE SAME THING SAME WARNING. SHUT OFF AND WAITED 15 MINUTES AGAIN AND IT WORKED. IT IS NOW PARKED SCARED TO DRIVE AFRAID IT WILL POWER STEERING WILL STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT PROPERLY SHIFT INTO GEAR AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT PROPERLY ACCELERATE. ADDITIONALLY, A SCREECHING SOUND WAS PRESENT COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE WHILE ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER - BILL ESTES CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 4105 W 96TH ST, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46268, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
THE PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT DETECTED THE AIRBAG. THE AIR BAG SIGN ON TOP INDICATES OFF EVEN WHEN THERE'S SOMEONE SEATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY.
VEHICLE IS IDLING HARD ON START UPS AND SHUTTING OFF WHEN BRAKE. RESTARTS BUT WILL SHUT OFF AGAIN WHEN I BRAKE.
RECURRING PROBLEMS WITH SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM COMPONENTS. *TR
THE BLIND SPOT DETECTION ISN'T WORKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. USUALLY IT DOESN'T COME ON AT ALL, AND EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE IT'LL COME ON RANDOMLY AND STAY ON AND NOT SHUT OFF EVEN WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF.
RECEIVED LETTER FROM GMC IN MARCH 2020 REGARDING ELECTRICAL WIRE LEADING TO PASSENGER SEAT NOT DEPLOYING AND MAY BECOME DISCONNECTED AND FAIL TO DEPLOY WHEN COMMANDED. ALSO AN INDICATION WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD. MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE AND GMC FAILS COVER THE COST BECAUSE ITS NOT IDENTIFIED AS RECALL. THE STATES THEY WILL COVER FOR NO CHARGE IF WITHIN 8 YEARS OF ORIGINALLY PLACED IN SERVICE OR 80,000 MILES (WHICHEVER COMES FIRST). GMC SHOULD ALREADY THAT 2014 CARS WILL BE WELL 80,000 MILES IN 2020! SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND LIVES ARE AT STAKE, GMC SHOULD NOT MAKE THIS FINANCIAL BURDEN FOR CONSUMERS. ADDITIONALLY THE ELECTRICAL WIRING FOR THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS AN ISSUE. MY SCREEN CONTINUES TO BLINK IN AND OUT AND SHOW A SYSTEM REFRESH AND THE RADIO, BLUETOOTH CAPABILITY, AND LOCKING MECHANISMS ARE INOPERABLE AS WELL. ALL OF THESE ISSUES STARTED AT THE SAME TIME! GMC NEEDS TO TAKE THE SAME STEPS REGARDING AIRBAG SAFETY AS FORD HAS DONE FOR THEIR CONSUMERS WITH OUT OF WARRANTY VEHICLES! FORD IS PROVIDING A FREE SERVICE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS BECAUSE THEY VALUE THE LIVES MORE PROFITS. I'VE TAKEN VEHICLE FOR SERVICE TODAY (4/9/21) AND I'M LOOKING A A HEALTHY BILL. HOPEFULLY ELECTRICAL/SAFETY ISSUES CAN BE ADDRESSED WITH GMC AS THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED IN MULTIPLE FORUMS INCLUDING THIS WEBSITE. BLIND SPOT LIGHT DOES NOT TURN OFF RADIO POWERS ON AND OFF HEADLIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF INTERIOR LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN START
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND AN ALERT SOUNDED OFF AND ON MY INFOTAINMENT CENTER I HAD A VISUAL ALERT OF A PROBLEM WITH MY POWER STEERING. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY. IT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WITHOUT POWER ASSIST AND I FIND IT INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. WE HAD TO CANCEL OUR 3 DAY VACATION BECAUSE I COULDN'T TRUST MY STRENGTH TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING MOUNTAIN ROADS. I LIVE IN ALASKA. THIS, TO ME, IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT CALLED WHALEN CHEVROLET INC (1258 NY-29, GREENWICH, NY 12834, (518) 692-2241) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000.
I OWN A 2014 CHEVY IMPALA LTZ. DURING THE WINTER OF 2018 - 2019 I STARTED SEEING THE SIDE DETECTION LIGHT COME ON RANDOMLY AND STAYING ON EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING. THE PROBLEM PROGRESSED AND ONE DAY AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH, AT NIGHT, ALL POWERED SYSTEMS FLASHED ON AND OFF INCLUDING MY HEADLIGHTS. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED. I RELUCTANTLY PAID THE $1,456 BILL. A FEW MONTHS LATER I RECEIVED THE NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND I SUBMITTED A REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH I DID RECEIVE FROM THE DEALER. NOW A LITTLE OVER A YEAR LATER I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I KNEW I NEEDED TO GET THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER. WHEN I CALLED TO GET AN APPOINTMENT THEY WERE THREE WEEKS OUT. NOW JUST DAYS BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER, MY CAR WON'T EVEN START. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FLASH ON AND OFF. MY CAR HAS JUST UNDER 80,000 MILES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS IT EFFECTS ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS IN THE CAR. MOST OF THE SAFETY FUNCTIONS OF THIS CAR RELY ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. *TR
BROUGHT CAR TO COOK'S BRAKES IN PORTLAND, OR BECAUSE OF ROTATIONAL NOISES HEARD WHEN BRAKING. MECHANIC CONFIRMED THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE PISTON ACTUATION ARM IS NOT FULLY RETRACTED CAUSING THE BRAKE PADS TO STAY PARTIALLY ENGAGED AND PREMATURELY DAMAGE THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. THE VEHICLE FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY SYSTEMS (FMVSS) NO. 135 'LIGHT VEHICLE BRAKE SYSTEMS'. THERE IS A DANGER OF EXCESSIVE HEAT AND FIRE. *TR
NOTICED A SMELL OF MOLD IN THE TRUNK. NOTED WATER IN THE SPARE TIRE AREA AND MOLD. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND FOUND THE REAR TAILLIGHT SEALS LEAKING. NOTICED THERE IS TSB G-191495 AND NHTSA 10092869 REGARDING THE ISSUE. ITS COSTING OVER $400 TO FIX AND THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE DRYING OUT THE CARPETS ETC. THE MOISTURE EXTENDED UP INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT UP TO THE FRONT FLOOR WELLS. *TR
MY SIDE DETECTION MODULE HAS GONE OUT AND IS NOW CAUSING OTHER ELECTRICAL FAILURES. MY UNDERSTANDING FROM ONLINE RESEARCH IS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ATTRIBUTED TO DESIGN FLAWS. *TR
ALL MY SIDE SENSORS ARE FAILING AND CAUSING MY INFO SYSTEM TO TURN OFF. ALSO NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM ONE OF THE SENSORS. THESE EVENTS OCCUR WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED UP. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM WARNING CAME UP AND MY CAR STARTED TO MALFUNCTION RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. IT WOULD SHUT OFF, COME BACK ON, LIGHTS WERE FLICKERING, AND I LOST BRAKING CONTROL. HAD TO LIMP MY CAR INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. I KNOW CHEVROLET OFFERED A SPECIAL WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT IT WAS LIKE 6 YEARS LATER, AND HALF THE PEOPLE YOU FIND WITH THIS ISSUE ARE OUTSIDE THE MILEAGE THEY REQUIRE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, AND CHEVROLET SHOULD BE THE ONE TO FIX IT.
THE FRONT CAMERA COLLISION, LANE DEPARTURE, BLIND SPOT WARNING SYSTEM ARE ALL PART OF AN ELECTRONIC SYSTEM THAT WARNS THE DRIVER. IN 2014, CHEVROLET LOCATED THESE MODULES IN THE REAR BUMPER AND DID NOT SUFFICIENTLY PROTECT THEM FROM THE WEATHER ELEMENTS, SO WATER GETS INTO THEM AND CAN CAUSE A FIRE, AND FAILURES FROM LOSING YOUR DASH GAUGES TO THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING. CHEVY WAS NICE ENOUGH TO ISSUE A SERVICE ACTION, BUT LIMITED TO A 6 MONTH TIME FRAME FOR REPAIRS. THEY ISSUED N172097060, WHICH WAS AVAILABLE FROM APRIL 2019 TO JANUARY 2020. THIS WAS NICE IF IT FAILED DURING THAT TIME. MINE FAILED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OCTOBER 2017, WHICH WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, AND AGAIN IN APRIL OF 2020, WHICH WAS JUST OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. CHEVY SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS SAFETY ISSUE AGAIN BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF THE N172097060 RECALL DUE TO TIME, NOT MILEAGE. I BELIEVE THAT THIS SHOULD BE COVERED FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.I WAS READING THAT THERE WAS A LETTER SENT, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED IT. I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY, KNOWING ABOUT THE PROBLEMM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,500.
I DRIFTED OVER THE RUMBLE STRIPS WHILE DRIVING 60MPH AND CORRECTED COURSE - IMMEDIATELY THE SERVICE DISPLAY SHOWED SERVICE: POWER STEERING DRIVE WITH CARE AND SERVICE: STABILITRAK . THEN I NOTICED THE POWER STEERING HAD GONE OUT. GOT HOME, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE SAME NOTICE POPPED UP. WE CHECKED THE SERPENTINE BELT AND IT SEEMED FINE. TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR ITS REGULAR OIL CHANGE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CAR STARTED DRIVING FUNNY. I NOTICE THAT WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THAT THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING. AFTER IT HAPPENED A FEW MORE TIMES WITHIN THAT SAME WEEK, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD THE OIL CHANGE, NOT BEFORE CALLING THE SERVICE DEPT. SEVERAL TIME IN THE WEEK TO VOICE MY CONCERNS. I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AND HAVE THEM CHECK MY OIL LEVEL TO MAKE SURE ALL WAS WELL. I TOLD THEM WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING AND THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND ASKED COULD THEY RE-CHECK MY OIL LEVEL. THE SERVICE ADVISOR CHECKED AND SAID THAT THE OIL WAS FINE. SHE THEN SUGGESTED THAT I PAY $112.48 DOLLARS FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY TO DETERMINE WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I DID! ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT IT WAS P2645 INTAKE ROCKER ARM CONTROL CIRCUIT SOLENOID. THEN SHE GAME ME A QUOTE OF $407.35 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE PART UPFRONT BEFORE ANYTHING COULD BE DONE AND ON TOP OF THAT, THIS PART WAS ON BACK-ORDER AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE WEEKS TO FILL THE ORDER. I NEED TO USE MY VEHICLE TO GET AROUND AND THIS WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! THIS WAS OVER 2 MONTHS AGO. I THEN TURNED TO THE INTERNET TO DO MY RESEARCH ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IS A FAULTY PART FROM THE GM MANUFACTURE. AND GM WAS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE THE PART EVEN AFTER THEY PLACE THIS PART IN MY VEHICLE KNOWINGLY THAT THIS WAS A DEFECTED PART AND THAT DOWN THE ROAD IT WOULD BE FAULTY, NOT ONLY IN MY 2014 BUT THE 2015 CHEVY IMPALA'S AND THE CHEVY MALIBU. SOME OF THE THINGS EFFECTED WAS ELECTRICAL COMPANY'S SUCH AS ELECTRONIC PARKING BREAK WAS ENGAGED AND WOULD NOT RELEASE CAUSE THE VEHICLE NOT TO MOVE! NEXT WAS CORROSION ON SEVERAL OTHER INSIDE WIRES HAVING TO DO WITH STEERING AND POSSIBLY AIR BAGS, BUT WHO KNOWS IF THEY WILL BE EFFECTIVE UNTIL THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND IT'S TOO LATE TO FIND OUT IF THEY ARE DMAMGED. OTHER SAFETY FEATURES SUCH AS SIDE DETECTION WAS CORRODED SO IT TOO MALFUNCTIONED. THERE WAS A LOT OF OTHER ELECTRICAL THINGS DAMAGED BUT THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE COULD BE A HUGE SAFE CONCERN. THERE IS NOW SO MUCH MOLD WHICH IS DANGEROUS TO BE BREATHING IN IF NOT TOTALLY REPLACED. THERE IS AN EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF WATER IN THE SPARE TIRE WHEEL WELL THAT IS CAUSING RUST AND THE INABILITY TO USE THIS SAFETY FEATURE IF NEEDED! THIS BECAME A HORRIBLE SAFETY CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND WHOMEVER MY BE TRAVELING IN MY VEHICLE. PLEASE DO RESEARCH INTO THIS BECAUSE I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS COULD HAPPEN TO A CAR WITH ONLY 70,000 MILES! MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP SO I CANNOT TAKE ANY PICTURES OF IT! PLEASE HELP!
