THE FRONT DRIVER ELECTRIC SEAT SAGS TO DOWN AND TO THE RIGHT. BAR ACROSS THE BOTTOM OF FRONT SEAT NEAR MOTOR AS BROKEN RIGHT NEAR THE WELD.RIGHT BEFORE WHERE IT BOLTS DOWN. CAR WAS PURCHASED AND THEY THIS ISSUE WAS FOUND.

FOR THE LAST 3-4 WEEKS MY MAINTENANCE CHIME KEPT GOING OFF AND A MESSAGE SAYING POWER STEERING. AND I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL HAS EITHER BEEN REALLY LOOSE OR ANOTHER TIME I WILL NEED TO USE SOME FORCE TO TURN. THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO GIVE OUT AT TIMES. I TOOK MY CAR LAST YEAR TO GET FIXED TWICE WHEN GENERAL MOTORS RECALLED MY VEHICLE THAT INVOLVED THE POWER STEERING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS INDEED THE RECALLED PART.

I WAS AT A STOP SIGN, HEADED STRAIGHT, ON A ROAD THAT IS A HILL, AND I WAS HEADED DOWN HILL. THE STEERING WHEEL DIDNT SEEM TO BE TO BE RESPONDING PROPERLY, SO I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE FORWARD SLOWLY AND TRIED TO GET OVER TO THE RIGHT. I WAS UNABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR AND DRIFTED DOWN THE HILL AND INTO A TREE. THE WHOLE FRONT END , HOOD AND BOTH FENDERS ARE DAMAGED. I AM SURE WE HAD PAOWER STEERING RECALL WORK DONE, THIS IS AWFUL. THE CAR WAS NOT WORTH A WHOLE LOT BUT IT WAS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION. WE DIDNT HAVE COLLISION COVERAGE SO NOW I HAVE A REAL TOTAL LOSS.
ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK IT SNAPPED AND DROPPED ON THE RIGHT SIDE, CLOSEST TO THE CENTER COLUMN. DRIVER;S SEAT NOW TILTS TOWARDS THE RIGHT. MECHANIC SAID IT WILL NOT PASS A SAFETY INSPECTION. UPON READING NHTSA REVIEWS BY OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THE SAME INCIDENT. THIS REALLY SHOULD BE RECALLED.

BOTH REAR COIL SPRINGS BROKE PART # 22714392 ( BOTH HAVE THE SAME CODES OF ORA AND 301024P00 ON THE PAPER TAG ON SPRING ) THIS CAR HAS NEVER PULLED A TRAILER OR HAD ANY HEAVY LOADS BOTH OF THESE SPRINGS BROKE IN THE SAME PLACE ( I HAVE THE BROKEN SPRINGS) DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A SMOOTH ROAD YOU DO NOT NOTICE PROBLEM IT IS WHEN YOU HAVE TO DO FAST LANE CHANGE OR HARD BRAKING THEN VEHICLE IS HARD TO CONTROL I WENT TO A CHEVROLET DEALER AND ASKED WHAT THEY COULD FOR ME I SAID IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND I NEVER HEARD OF 2 COIL SPRINGS BREAKING IN THE SAME PLACE THEY SAID THERE WAS NOT ANYTHING THEY WERE WILLING TO DO THEY SAID I COULD CALL GENERAL MOTORS BUT THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING EITHER I STOPPED DRIVING CAR FOR SEVERAL MONTHS THEN ORDERED 2 AFTER MARKET MOOG BRAND SPRINGS WHICH ARE MADE OF THICKER METAL AND I INSTALLED REPLACEMENT SPRINGS ON 11/15/2016

WHEN TAKEN TO THE GARAGE THEY FIXED ONE RECALL AND CONVENIENTLY 2 MORE REPAIRS THAT DIDN'T EXIST NEEDED FIXED THEY THEN TOLD ME THE STEERING COLUMN WAS BAD AND NEEDED REPLACED. I SAID I DIDN'T HAVE MONEY TO FIX AND THEY SAID THEY REPAIRED IT AS GOOD AS THEY COULD POWER STEERING PROBLEM COULD HAPPEN AGAIN BUT MAY NEVER. SO ON JUNE 26TH I HEADED TO CHILDRENS HOSPITAL TO BE WITH MY SON WHEN HE WAS PUT UNDER ANESTHESIA FOR AN MRI(HE HAS DOWN SYNDROME). CAR WAS ACTING UP NOT TURNING RIGHT BUT I MADE IT THERE. I SENT KIDS WITH THEIR DAD THE NIGHT BEFORE BECAUSE I FELT IT WASN'T DRIVING RIGHT. ON THE WAY HOME I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON HIGHWAY 28 IN THE RIGHT LANE WHEN MY CAR STARED GOING TOWARDS THE PASSING LANE. I TRIED TURNING G THE WHEEL BACK. IT TURNED BUT THE WHEELS DIDN'T FOLLOW. IT CONTINUED INTO PASSING LANE, HIT THE CEMENT WALL. THE FRONT LEFT TIRE CLIMBED THE WALL. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED BECAUSE SAME DEALER BROKE MODULE THAT CONTROLLED AIRBAGS, THEY WERE TO REPLACE IT FREE WHEN PART CAME IN BUT NEVER CALLED. I LANDED IN MEDIAN BETWEEN HIGHWAYS. THANK GOD I DIDN'T HIT ANYONE. NOW I HAVE NO CAR. IS THERE ANYONE THAT FIGHTS FOR THE LITTLE GUY ANYMORE?
UNDERNEATH THE FRONT SEAT WHERE A SMALL PIPE CONNECTING THE SEAT TO THE RAILS BROKE OFF AT THE WELD. THIS MADE THE DRIVER SEAT TO LEAN TO THE RIGHT AND MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE WHILE DRIVING. IT'S VERY UNSTABLE! IT WILL BE A CAUSE OF DEATH OR INJURY SINCE THE SEAT BELT IS PART OF THE SYSTEM. UPON CLOSER LOOK, IT APPEARS THE JOB WAS NOT DONE PROPERLY. POOR WELDING AND POOR WORKMANSHIP IS VERY OBVIOUS UPON INSPECTION. A QUICK SEARCH IN THE INTERNET SHOWS IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM ON CHEVY MALIBU. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS IT POSES DANGER TO THE DRIVING PUBLIC.

WHILE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE THIS VEHICLE WITH A WRENCH IN THE MIDDLE LIT UP ON MY DASH BOARD AND THAT'S WHEN MY WHEEL LOCKED UP I COULDN'T MOVE THE WHEEL FROM LEFT TO RIGHT I HAD TO FORCE IT TO TURN TO BE ABLE TO MAKE TURNS AND GET OVER.
NOTICED DRIVERS SEAT WAS LEANING INWARD, TOWARD CONSOLE, AND FELT WOBBLY. TOOK CAR TO LAOCA MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THE ANCORAGE ON MY SEAT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. I CONTACTED GM TO INQUIRE ABOUT RECALLS CONCERNING THIS MATTER WAS TOLD NNE ON RECORD. I DID INFORM THEM THAT I'D DONE SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MALIBUS'. I WAS REFERRED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP WHICH IS GOING TO COST ME $85.00 FOR A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED LONG AGO. IM SURE THIS THE FIRST TIME THE DEALERSHIP HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT MY SEATBELT WILL MORE THAN LIKELY NOT HOLD IF I WERE IN A COLLISION. THIS DANGEROUS. ARE THEY WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE!!!

THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND A DOOR CAUGHT ON FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. IT WAS UNKNOWN WHO EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
THE CAR WON'T START. DEALER SAID SOME PROBLEM WITH THE PASSLOCK SYSTEM. A NEW PASSLOCK SENSOR IS NEEDED. I DID A SEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND MANY CHEVY/GM CARS OWNERS REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME EVEN REPORTED THAT THE CAR STOPPED DURING DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY, WHICH IS SOOOOOO DANGEROUS. GM NEEDS TO START A RECALL ON THIS.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR THROUGH AN INTERSECTION, THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY GAVE OUT AND I LOST ALL POWER TO THE ENGINE AND HAD TO SWERVE. HAVING SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER TO THE ENGINE I MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NARROWLY AVOIDED A COLLISION. THE CAR IS PERFECTLY MAINTAINED AND THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES AT THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP (BUNNIN CHEVY) CONCLUDED THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER ERROR.

AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES), THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FEEL AS THOUGH THE BRAKES WERE GRABBING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND THE BRAKES WERE SMOKING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT FELT THAT BOTH RECALL REPAIRS FAILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,500.
WHILE DRIVING I5 NORTH I ADJUSTED MY ELECTRONIC FRONT SEAT FOR MORE COMFORT, AND WHEN I DID I FOUND THE SEAT MOVING CLOSER TO THE DASH BOARD, I COULDN'T STOP IT OR REVERSE IT SO I FRANTICALLY WENT FROM THE FAST LANE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD ALMOST CRASHING INTO SOMEONE. WHEN I STOPPED I FOUND MYSELF ALMOST TRAPPED BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE SEAT MY LEGS WERE ALMOST JAMMED INTO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE DASH BOARD AND THE ELECTRONIC SEAT NON RESPONSIVE. WHAT I FOUND OUT WAS THAT THE SWITCH HAD COME OFF THE CONTROL KNOBS AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE SEAT WENT ALL THE WAY FORWARD AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. SOMEBODY SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER. THERE IS NO RECALLS FOR THIS BUT THERE SHOULD BE.
DRIVING GRAND CHILDREN HOME FROM SCHOOL, TURNED IN DRIVEWAY AND CAR MADE LOUD CHATTER AND CLUNK SOUND LIKE SOMETHING WAS COMING APART OR FALLING OUT. WHEN THE NOISE HAPPENED STEERING WHEEL KEPT SPINNING FREELY! RECEIVED A LETTER SAYING THIS EXACT THING MAY HAPPEN WOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE UNDER 150,000 MILES. CAR IS AT 170,000 THEY WILL NOT REPAIR SAYING EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE AND NOT RECALL. MIND BOGGLING HOW THEY CAN BE ALLOWED TO ISSUE RECALL FOR STEERING MOTOR THAT MAY CAUSE VECHILE TO STEER HARDER A SAFETY ISSUE AND WHEN YOUR IN THE PROCESS OF TURNING AND STEERING WHEEL SPINS FREELY ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE BUT EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE. HAD WE BEEN TURNING AS WE WERE A SHORT TIME BEFORE THAT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION WE COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR KILLED!! THIS SEEMS COMPLETELY IDIOTIC HOW HARD STEERING THAT COULD HAPPEN SUCH AS LIKE WHEN A CAR DIDN'T HAVE POWER STEERING WAS DECLARED SAFETY ISSUE BUT EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE WHEN YOU LOSE THE ABILITY TO STEER AND STEERING WHEEL JUST SPINS. HOW MANY INJURIES OR DEATHS HAVE TO OCCUR BEFORE THEY ARE MADE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY WANT $900 FOR PART ALONE. HOW COULD THEY POSSIBLY PUT A MILE LIMIT OF 150,000 ON SOMETHING THAT CAN CAUSE CRASH CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH!!! THIS DANGEROUS CONDITION NEEDS TO BE MADE PUBLIC AND CORRECTED. BECAUSE MANUFACTURER NEGLECTED TO PUT AN UMBRELLA SEAL A VERY CHEAP PART PEOPLES LIVES ARE AT RISK AND IT IS A COSTLY REPAIR DUE TO NEGLECT ON MANUFACTURERS PART!!
