THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIGHT BULB SOCKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 280,000.
POSSIBLE DEFECT IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FRONT SEAT. SEATBELT ATTACHED TO SEAT; NOW USELESS. NOTICED OTHER DRIVERS HAVE POSTED THE SAME ISSUE. FRONT SEAT TIPS TO THE RIGHT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU MAXX. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT MOVED INTERMITTENTLY AND LEANED TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME SECTION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE EXTREME FORCE IN ORDER TO STRAIGHTEN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND. 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO GM RECALL #13036* LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE RECALL FIX, DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER STATED HE DID NOT KNOW, IF THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORKED AND THE CRUISE CONTROL RARELY WORKED. THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHT WAS ON. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO THE DEALER. AN INSPECTION REVEALED A PROBLEM WAS SPEED SENSOR ON THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL, WHICH WAS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE COST TO REPLACE THE SENSOR WAS $460. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU CLASSIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ANTI-THEFT SENSOR AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SENSOR KEPT RANDOMLY ILLUMINATING AND THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY REMOVING THE KEY AND GETTING THE KEY TO TURN OVER INTO AN ON POSITION TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HEARD A CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, WHICH OCCURRED FREQUENTLY AND THE NOISE CONTINUED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND INDICATED THAT THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE IGNITION SWITCH IS ACTING UP . I GOT INTO THE CAR TRIED TO START THE CAR BUT THERE WAS NOTHING, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT THAT WAS NOT IT. EVERYTHING WORKING. BUT WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY THERE WAS NOTHING, I TRIED IT 4 TIMES. ON THE 5TH TIME ITH TURNED STARTED. THIS HAS HAPPPENED 8 DIFFERENT TIMES. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ON THE IGNITION SWITCH BUT I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ONE. I NEED IT SO THAT IF I CAN EVER GET INTO A DEALER SHIP THAT HAD PARTS I CAN GET IT FIXED.. *TR

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BRACKETS NEEDED TO BE WELDED AND RE-MOUNTED ON THE FRAME TO FULLY SECURE THE SEAT. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRAME AND BRACKETS WERE ENTIRELY RUSTED AND THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF. I'M NOT EVEN SURE THAT IT IS WORKING AT ALL I HAVE A RECALL NOTICE ON THIS ISSUE BUT ONCE AGAIN NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE ANY PARTS TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. *TR
UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SEAT COLLAPSED, LEAVING THE SEAT LEANING BACKWARD AND TO THE RIGHT. THERE APPEAR TO BE BROKEN FRAME WELDS ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHERE THE UP AND DOWN MOTOR IS LOCATED. AS THE SEAT IS NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE FRAME, THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY RISK WERE THERE TO BE AN ACCIDENT; THE DRIVER WOULD NOT BE SECURE IN THE VEHICLE EVEN WITH A SEAT BELT ENGAGED. *TR

ALSO, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT INTO THE REVERSE GEAR. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT ONLY ONE OF THE THREE RECALL REPAIRS WOULD BE PERFORMED SINCE THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE BRAKE LIGHT RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO INDICATE A SPECIFIC TIMEFRAME TO SCHEDULE THE TWO REMAINING RECALL REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.

LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN KING ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE 2004 CHEVY MALIBU. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO FIX THE RECALLED COMPONENTS. THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKE LIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
WHILE INCREASING SPEED, THE BATTERY LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THE DASH LIGHTS GO OUT. THE LIGHTS GO OF AND THE POWER STEERING STARTS WORKING LIKE NORMAL. THERE IS STILL ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE REST OF THE CAR (RADIO WORKS, BRAKES WORK, INTERIOR LIGHTS STILL WORK, ETC.) I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAD THE CHARGING SYSTEM INSPECTED, NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. ALTERNATOR IS GOOD, BATTERY IS GOOD. NO SHOP CAN EXPLAIN WHY THIS HAPPENS, EVEN THE CHEVROLET DEALER. IT DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED I AM GOING, IT ALWAYS DOES THIS. DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE I LOST POWER TO THE STEERING AND WENT INTO THE DITCH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER STATES THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, AND CANNOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE CAME CLOSE TO TOTALING MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES. I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR WHEN IT LOST STEERING ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS COULD HAVE COST US OUR LIVES. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR BUT HAVE TO. THIS COMPLAINT IS MY LAST OPTION BEFORE CONTACTING A LAWYER. I HOPE THIS CAN BE RESOLVED THROUGH THIS COMPLAINT. *TR
VEHICLE WAS PARKED. KEY WILL TURN, THE ENGINE WILL CRANK BUT WILL NOT START. MECHANIC CHECKED THE VEHICLE ON SITE AND HAD TO BE PULLED TO THE MECHANIC'S SHOP. MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT ANTI THEFT SYSTEM WAS ON. THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. AMOUNT OF REPAIR WAS ABOUT 100 DOLLARS.

JULY 18 - DRIVING TO WORK, HEARD AND FELT A CLUNK. ON THE RADIO DISPLAY POWER STEERING WAS NOW DISPLAYED AND THE MECHANICS SYMBOL ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. JULY 28- MCCLUSKEY IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE TROUBLE WITH CAR, THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS ANYWAY. AUG. 6 - VM CAR IS READY. WHEN WE ARRIVED TOLD US THERE IS A PROBLEM, THEY HAVE USED NON-APPROVED GM PARTS, THEY NEED TO TAKE THOSE PARTS OUT AND PUT IN APPROVED GM PARTS TO BE PAID. REAR QUARTER OF THE CAR WAS DAMAGED. AUG.14 - PASSENGER SIDE LOWER FRONT BUMPER IS NOW DAMAGED AUG. 21 - PICKED UP MALIBU FROM THE BODY SHOP, REALIZE SEAT IS BROKEN CALL THE BODY SHOP BACK WITHIN 5 MIN. OF LEAVING THE LOT, I WENT AROUND A CORNER AND I AM THROWN INTO THE DOOR. IN OCT. RECEIVED THE RECALL LETTER AGAIN, DEALERSHIPS NOW HAVE PARTS, TAKE YOUR VEHICLE IN AND HAVE THE REPAIR COMPLETED. IF THIS WAS DONE IN AUGUST WHY DID I JUST RECEIVE A LETTER? NOV. 27, WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR THE POWER STEERING WOULD NOT WORK AGAIN, MAKING A TURN AT SLOW SPEED THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND AND ACTED AS IF HE HAD HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE ACCELERATOR AT THE SAME TIME, AS IF HE WAS POWER BRAKING, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE, COMPLETELY UNSAFE. DEC. 3 BORCHERDING BUICK CALLS ME AND TELLS ME THE RECALLS ARE NOT THE ISSUE AND CANNOT BE COMPLETED UNTIL THE STEERING COLUMN ISSUE IS FIXED.THE CAR HAD 57635 MILES ON JULY 18TH THE DAY THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MCCLUSKEY CHEVROLET, ON AUGUST 22ND THE MORNING AFTER I PICKED UP THE CAR FROM MCCLUSKEY CHEVROLET THE CAR HAS 58135. THE CAR BECAME UN-DRIVABLE WITH 60890 MILES. I HAVE A RECEIPT THE POWER STEERING WAS REPLACED IN 2005 UNDER A RECALL/WARRANTY AND THEN AGAIN THE POWER STEERING WAS REPAIRED IN 2009 WITH GM PAYING HALF WE PAID HALF DUE TO THE LOW MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE SEAT DROPPED TO THE RIGHT CAUSING ME TO NEARLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I REALLY THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE SOME SORT OF RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE AS THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SEAT INCIDENT. FIRST SEARCH ON GOOGLE BROUGHT UP THIS WEBSITE WHICH MAY BE OF CONCERN TO YOU. PLEASE LOOK AT THIS SINCERELY AND CONSULT WITH GM AND ISSUE A RECALL OR SOMETHING. THIS IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED IF ITS NOT FIXED NOW. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW AS WHEN I INSPECTED THE SUPPORT BAR IT WAS ONLY WELDED ON EITHER CORNER OF THE BRACKET HOLDING IT ON. I WAS ENTERING THE FREEWAY, ACCELERATING TO GET INTO LANE, THERE WAS A BIG TRUCK ON THE SIDE OF ME AND AS I TRIED TO MANEUVER MY CAR, I FOUND I COULD NOT STEER THE VEHICLE! I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE DIED. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF IGNITION. THEN RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE A BIT BEFORE THE SAME THING HAPPENED. LATER I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING FOR MY VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS! THERE ARE ALSO TWO OTHER RECALLS ON MY CAR; ONE FOR IGNITION/TRANSMISSION WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE CAR TURNING OFF AND THE OTHER IS A BRAKE LAMP ISSUE WHICH COULD RENDER THE BRAKE LAMPS USELESS IN CASE OF STOPPING, OR USING THE CRUISE CONTROL COULD RESULT IN FAULTY BRAKE LIGHTS TO ALERT OTHER DRIVERS. SO AFTER CALLING GENERAL MOTORS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, EACH TIME BEING TOLD A DIFFERENT STORY - THERE IS NO PARTS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN MY VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THE SAME THING. HOWEVER, I WAS PLACED ON A "LIST" AND GIVEN THE NUMBER "175" TO BE IN LINE TO WAIT REPAIRS. EVEN THOUGH THEY DO NOT HAVE A PART YET. MY FRUSTRATION LIES IN THE FACT THAT MY CAR IS AN INVESTMENT. I BOUGHT IT IN GOOD FAITH WITH THE DEALER, AND HAVE MADE MY PAYMENTS ON TIME . NOW I AM PAYING A CAR PAYMENT AND CAR INSURANCE FOR A CAR THAT IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY! I ALSO HAVE TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR INDEFINITELY AND IT IS CAUSING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP BECAUSE I AM UNEMPLOYED AT THIS TIME AS WELL. NO ONE WILL HELP ME , OR GIVE ME AN ANSWER! WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS?
