THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING SENSOR INTERMITTENTLY LIT AND AT TIMES THERE WAS NO WARNING AND THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED A POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE WHILE MAKING A SHARP TURN, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO HAVE TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE SENSOR RESET BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY. WAS DRIVING AND SAW A DEER IN THE ROAD. WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES THEY LOCKED AND THEN THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AS IF THE BRAKES WENT OUT. AT THAT TIME THE STEERING WAS DIFFICULT. THE VEHICLE WENT THROUGH A FIELD THROUGH 2 FENCES AND OVER A DITCH BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. THE ENGINE DID NOT SHUT OFF. THERE WAS MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE, FROM THE FENCE POSTS, AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS DUE TO THE DAMAGE. *TR

I HAVE RECEIVED TWO RECALL NOTICES IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS, ONE FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; AND THE OTHER FOR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE, WHICH MAY FRACTURE AT ANY TIME. BOTH NOTICES INFORMED ME THAT THE DEALER WOULD PERFORM REPAIRS AT NO COST, BUT THAT PARTS ARE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. AM I TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY DEFECTIVE CAR AND HOPE THAT I WON'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY THE ABOVE PROBLEMS? I AM VERY LOW INCOME AND CAN'T AFFORD TO RENT A CAR. *TR

THE CONTACT MANAGED TO AVOID A CRASH. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION ONCE IT WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPORADICALLY. END OF JULY 2014, EARLY MORNING, WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE WITH CLEAR DRY CONDITIONS, MY BRAKES BEGAN TO PULSE ON THEIR OWN AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BEGAN LIGHTING UP IN CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE BRAKE PULSE.. THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT ITSELF OFF. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON REMAIN ON AND CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER WORKS. THIS CONTINUES TO HAPPEN THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF MY 60MILE ONE WAY DAILY DRIVE. I WAS NOTIFIED OF RECALL13036 WHICH INCLUDES ALL OF THESE ISSUES., I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR A SCHEDULED SERVICE FOR THIS 12/12/14. AFTER WAITING MORE THAN 2 HOURS TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK (WITHOUT THE RECALL WORK BEING DONE), I RESCHEDULED FOR 12/16/14. AFTER COMPLETING THE RECALL WORK THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO ME WITH ALL ERROR CODES CLEARED. LESS THAN 3 MILES DOWN THE ROAD, ALL OF THE ISSUES RETURNED. NO CRUISE CONTROL, PULSING BRAKES AND T/C LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND REMAIN ON. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY SIMPLY ADDED LUBRICANT TO CONNECTIONS AND THAT ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL. I READ THE RECALL NOTICE TO THEM, IT CLEARLY STATES ALL OF THESE ISSUES ARE RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP (PETE HARKNESS/MORRISON,IL) RECOMMENDS THAT I BRING IT BACK IN AGAIN AND PAY $90.00 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND THEN I WILL NEED TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIRS NEEDED. *TR
THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. THIS IS A COMPLAINT ABOUT MY 2006 CHEVROLET MALIBU. I RECEIVED THREE RECALL NOTICES, NOS. 14152, 13036 AND14116 FROM THE CHEVROLET CO. ALL THREE DESCRIBE VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE DRIVING MY CAR. THEY ARE NOTIFYING ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO REPAIR MY CAR BUT WILL NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY ARE SENT TO MY DEALER. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON A LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY I MAY EXPERIENCE A TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE FRACTURE, A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE OR AN INCREASED RESISTANCE IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTION SYSTEM. THIS IS A FOLLOW-UP TO ODI CONFIRMATION NUMBER: 10610590 WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. ALL POWERED FUNCTIONS WERE LOST. THE DISPLAY SCREEN WOULD SIGNAL: "ENGINE DISABLED." PER THE CHEVY DEALER, THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A IMPROPER WORKING PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE), WHERE THE FOLLOWING ERROR CODES WERE PRESENT: P0601 TO P0606 AND U2109. ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR, AT THIS POINT, IS $740.00 + TAX. FOR PEACE OF MIND AND OF COURSE, REASONS OF PERSONAL SAFETY, WE HOPE THAT THIS IS THE PROBLEM. *JS
I NOTICED THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM IN FURTHER INVESTIGATION I LEARNED MY PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATING AT ALL WHEN I PUSH MY BRAKE PEDAL AND WHEN THE PEDAL IS PUSHED THE TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE AT ALL AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES INTO MY BLINKER, REVERSING INDICATOR, ETC.. ALSO WHEN I CHECK MY VIN IT TELLS ME THERE ARE NO ACTIVE RECALLS FOR MY CAR. *TR
AS THE POWER STEERING IS SHOWING SIGNS OF FAILURE AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT YET RECEIVED THE PARTS FOR MY BULLETIN FOR THE ISSUED RECALL, THE MECHANIC HAS NOW TOLD ME THE TORQUE FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING ISSUE IS LEADING TO THE FAILURE OF THE AC CONDENSER AS THEY ARE BOTH RUNNING OFF THE LINKED PULLEYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
AFTER FOUR (4) MINUTES OF DRIVING CAR AT 6:30AM IN THE MORNING, TEMPERATURE WAS 58 DEGREE ON 7/21/2014, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. ALL POWERED FUNCTIONS ASSOCIATED W/VEHICLE DID NOT WORK. ALL IDIOT LIGHTS FLASHED ON. THE MESSAGE IN DISPLAY WAS "ENGINE DISABLED." CAR WAS PULLED OVER AND SHUT OFF. AFTER 4-5 MINUTES OF REST, THE CAR WAS RE-STARTED AND DRIVEN BACK HOME ABOUT ANOTHER TWO (2) MILES. *TR
AFTER FINDING OUT THAT THERE ARE RECALLS FOR MY CAR PER DOT.GOV, I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIRS WITH VANDERGRIFF CHEVROLET IN ARLINGTON FOR 7-21-14. I REQUESTED THAT THEY REPAIR THE PARTS UNDER RECALL AND ISSUE A REFUND FOR THE AMOUNT I PAID PREVIOUSLY FOR REPAIR TO POWER STEERING ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE IN TOUCH WITH ME. WHEN I DID NOT GET CONTACTED, I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO SPEAK WITH A TECHNICIAN IN REGARD TO MY SERVICE REQUEST. ONCE AGAIN, AS PREVIOUSLY, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MY CAR. WHEN I DIRECTED THE TECHNICIAN TO THE INFORMATION RELEASED BY THE DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION, HE STATED THAT GM SENT OUT ADDITIONAL RECALL LETTERS TO RECALL THE ORIGINAL RECALL NOTICES BECAUSE THEY WERE ISSUED IN ERROR, AND THAT THERE ARE NONE IN EFFECT FOR MY VEHICLE. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE. *JS
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY MY POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND CAUSED MY STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I THANK GOD I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I HAD TO TRY IN PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HWY AND CUT MY CAR OFF TO RESET THE POWER STEERING LIGHT. *TR
DECELERATING FROM HIGHWAY TO OFF RAMP. CHIME SOUNDED AND DISPLAY COLUMN SHOWED POWER STEERING. STEERING REQUIRED FORCE AND AS THE VEHICLE STOPPED THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SUBTLE SHIFT LEFT AND RIGHT WITH AUDIBLE SOUND WHEN REACHING LEFT AND RIGHT. STARTED THE CAR AND ALARM BELL RANG. GAS GAGE WAS DEAD AND POWER STEERING WAS GONE. HAD TO STOP THE CAR AND RE START IT AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK.
