STEERING PROBLEMS ON A 2007 CHEVY MALIBU..STARTING APPROX. 2 YEARS AGO..FALL OF 2008..TAKEN TO CERTIFIED CHEVY DEALER FOUR TIMES HAS BEEN "FIXED". IN SPRING 2010 POWER STEERING MOTOR REPLACED TWICE...TAKEN BACK TO CERTIFIED DEALER ON 8/2/10 TO HAVE RACK AND PINION FIXED FOR 2ND TIME AS WELL.. *TR
INTERMEDIATE SHAFT WENT OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE INTERMITTENTLY HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. IN MAY 2008, THE DEALER MADE TWO ATTEMPTS TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE STEERING SHAFT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,892 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 68,860.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON FROM MAY THRU SEPTEMBER EVERY YEAR...ON CONTINUALLY. DOESN'T MATTER IF CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT. SOON AS KEY TURNS LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON.
I WAS DRIVING A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU UNDERCOVER POLICE CAR. I WAS CHASING AN ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND WAS DRIVING 53 MPH ACCORDING TO THE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION. I LEFT SOLID DARK BLACK SKID MARKS FOR OVER A HUNDRED FEET PRIOR TO MY IMPACT. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED AND THERE WAS NO DISCERNIBLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VEHICLE I WAS DRIVING AN ONE NOT EQUIPPED WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. AFTER ABOUT EIGHTY FEET OF SOLID SKID AND NO STEERING CONTROL, I WAS FORCED TO RELEASE THE BRAKE PEDDLE SLIGHTLY TO GAIN STEERING SO I WOULD NOT STRIKE THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SQUARELY ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, POSSIBLY KILLING THE ELDERLY DRIVER, WHO RAN A STOP SIGN IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND AIR LIFTED TO THE HOSPITAL DUE TO MY INJURIES. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY MALIBU. I BOUGHT THE CAR 2 1/2 YRS. AGO. IT HAD 12,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. WE WERE TOLD AT 33,000 MILES THAT IT NEEDED A NEW STEERING GEAR, WHICH WE DID, THEN AT 35,000 MILES A STRUT WAS REPLACED, THEN IN 2009 ANOTHER STEERING GEAR WAS PUT IN AND ALSO A FEW MONTHS LATER IT WAS YET AGAIN DOING THE SAME THING SO THEY GREASED IT..... NOW THEY SAY WE NEED A STEERING SHAFT PUT IN.....GM SHOULD RECALL ALL THESE VEHICLES.....I FOR ONE AM FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND WILL NEVER OWN A GM PRODUCT AGAIN....I AS WELL, WILL DO MY BEST TO DETER ANYONE I KNOW FROM OWNING A GM PRODUCT! *TR
WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING, THE POWER STEERING FAILED ON MY 2007 CHEVY MALIBU MAKING TURNING VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE MANUALLY. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, I PUT IT IN PARK AND TRIED THE STEERING - NO CHANGE. I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE POWER STEERING RESET. THIS HAS OCCURRED 5 TIMES IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS. IF I AM SETTING STILL, I CAN TURN THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY TO THE LEFT AND THE POWER STEERING WILL FAIL. ALSO I HAVE NOTICED DURING DRIVING AND STILL (WAITING AT A LIGHT) THE STEERING WHEEL TENDS TO PULSATE BACK AND FORTH. I REPORTED THIS TO DEALERSHIP A MONTH AGO WHEN VEHICLE WAS OIL SERVICED. THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING AT THAT TIME. I SEE FROM RESEARCH THERE WERE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS WITH THE 2004 MODEL, BUT CANNOT FIND ANY REMEDY. AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS, I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE READ WHERE OTHER VEHICLES HAVE CRASHED DUE TO THIS AND I PREFER TO NOT BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THUS KILLING SOMEONE IN MY CAR OR ANOTHER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SUDDENLY TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE THE STEERING SHAFT, AND STEERING COLUMN WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2300.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT OR LATCH. THERE WERE NO PRIOR FAILURES WITH ANY OF THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 18,000.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING. PROBLEM STARTED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. WENT SEVERAL TIMES TO FERMAN DEALER ON SR60 IN BRANDON, FLORIDA, FROM WHERE PURCHASE WAS MADE. TOOK SEVERAL VISITS BEFORE THEY STATED THEY DETECTED THE PROBLEM, WHICH WAS A WIRE THAT WAS TOUCHING STEERING COLUMN. DAYS LATER IT OCCURRED AGAIN AND HAVE BEEN OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY SINCE. THE SAFETY ISSUE HERE IS IMMENSE. LET ALONE, YOU GET NO ENJOYMENT IN DRIVING. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAME FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, SOME WITH ACCIDENTS. DOES THERE HAVE TO BE A LOSS OF LIFE IN ORDER FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO STEP TO THE PLATE AND CORRECT THIS PROBLEM? PLEASE HELP US! WE NEED A VOICE! *TR
I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DECEMBER 2007, WITHIN 30 DAYS, I TOOK IT IN FOR A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE STEERING, WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS @ LOW SPEED. ALSO CLUNKS WHEN TURNING WHEEL SHARPLY. OVER A COURSE OF 11 MONTHS, I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM 4 TIMES! THEY REPLACED STEERING SHAFTS, COLUMNS, LUBED, RE-ALIGNED, THE WORKS! AND EVERY TIME, WITHIN 3000 MILES, THE NOISE IS BACK. THIS ALL STARTED WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND CONTINUED THROUGH PAST MY WARRANTY. I HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT IT'S A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. EVERYTIME I TOOK IT AFTER THE "FREE" WARRANTY WAS UP(3 TIMES) I'VE HAD TO FIGHT WITH THE DEALERSHIP ON HAVING MY DEDUCTIBLE COVERED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER TOLD ME IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS(THE STEERING)AND THERE ISN'T MUCH THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. I'VE BEEN ALL OVER THE INTERNET, ONLY TO FIND OUT THERE ARE ALOT OF THE SAME EXACT COMPLAINTS. IS THIS SOMETHING I HAVE TO DEAL WITH? IT DEFINITELY MAKES ME NOT WANT TO BUY GM PRODUCTS. I PURCHASED MY 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU IN MARCH '07. FOR THE PAST MONTH OR SO I HAD BEEN HEARING A POPPING NOISE WHEN I WOULD TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I CALLED BARTOW CHEVROLET AND ASKED THEM IF ANYONE ELSE HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END ON THE MALIBU'S. THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD INFORMED ME THERE WERE A FEW PEOPLE WHO BROUGHT THEIR VEHICLES IN. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND TOOK MY CAR THIS MORNING TO HAVE IT CHECKED. THEY REPLACED THE INTERMEDIATE SHAFT. AFTER THAT WAS REPLACED ONE OF THE MECHANICS TEST DROVE THE CAR AND STILL HEARD A POPPING NOISE IN THE FRONT END. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR BACK NEXT WEEK SO THEY CAN ALSO REPLACE THE BUSHINGS IN THE FRONT END. *TR
FUEL GAUGE AN FUEL TANK READER HAS NOT WORKED SINCE WE BOUGHT IN 2007. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY MALIBU LTZ. THE STEERING COLUMN HAS LOCKED UP SEVERAL TIMES. THE WORSE TIME HAPPENED ABOUT A WEEK AGO. I WAS HAVING THE BRAKES CHECKED AND THE REPAIR MAN DROVE THE CAR AND WHEN HE MASHED THE ACCELERATOR THE CARS STEERING LOCKED UP AND HE HAD TO FIGHT IT TO KEEP FROM HITTING A BLOCK AND CONCRETE WALL. HE SAID THE CAR WAS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO THE CAR DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU HAVE HEARD IF GM IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND IF THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS THANK YOU. *TR
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BACK DOORS ON MY CAR CLOSING WHEN IT GETS COLD OUTSIDE....MY CHILDREN HAVE BEEN IN THE CAR TWICE WHEN THE DOORS OPENED UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THEN ONE DAY ON MY WAY TO WORK ON THE THURWAY THE DOOR OPENED ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING...I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY SEEM TO THINK THIS IS NOT SERIOUS....VERY UPSET WITH GM! *TR
I OWN A 2007 CHEVY MALIBU 2LT WHICH HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL SENSOR SINCE I BOUGHT IT. HAVE TAKEN INTO DEALERSHIP BUT NOTHING CAN BE FOUND WRONG. REPLACED FUEL CAP TO SEE IF THAT WAS PROBLEM BUT NOTHING CHANGED. FUEL LIGHT STAYS ON EMPTY EVEN WITH FULL TANK OF GAS PLUS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. THE ONLY TIME IT WORKS IS WHEN I TRAVEL VERY LONG DISTANCES OTHERWISE NOTHING. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE WAY CHEVY DOES THEIR CUSTOMERS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THIS AND IT SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THEIR FUEL SYSTEM. I DEFINITELY THINK A RECALL SHOULD BE DONE ON THIS ISSUE. NOW I AM STARTING TO SMELL GAS FUMES IN MY CAR. I WILL NEVER BUY A CHEVY AUTO AGAIN! *LN
STEERING CUTS IN AND OUT IN AN UNPREDICTABLE WAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AND ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN REGULARLY. THE FAILURE HAS PROGRESSED EVERYDAY FOR ABOUT A MONTH. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP YESTERDAY TO FIND OUT THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE DRIVE SHAFT AND BEARINGS ON THE TIRE. THE CAR IS BEING REPAIRED, AT 40,000 MILES. THIS IS A 2007 VEHICLE! *TR
I RECENTLY LEASED A 2007 MALIBU. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DOES NOT WORK WHEN A CUSHION IS PLACED ON IT TO GIVE MY WIFE THE HEIGHT SO SHE CAN SEE. APPARENTLY THE SENSORS ARE SET TO A HEAVY WEIGHT, SO IF THERE ARE SMALL PEOPLE SUCH AS CHILDREN IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG SAFETY SYSTEM WILL NOT ACTIVATE IF THEY SIT ON A CUSHION. I SPOKE TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE IN DETROIT, AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IN DESIGNING A SAFETY SYSTEM, CONSIDERATION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO SMALLER AND LIGHTER PEOPLE, OR HAVE A FIX AVAILABLE SO THE SYSTEM WORKS. *TR
WE DO NOT LIKE THE ELECTRONIC STEERING, THE CAR DOES NOT HOLD THE ROAD WELL, WE'VE HAD NO ACCIDENTS WITH IT, BUT WHEN WE HAD IT CHECKED AT THE DEALERS THEY TOLD US IT WAS OK.. WE STILL ARE NOT HAPPY WITH IT. *TR

THE BRAKES SHUDDER AND SHAKE THE CAR UNTIL YOU THINK IT IS GOING TO COME APART AS YOU APPLY THEM AT ANY SPEED. THIS CAR USED TO BELONG TO MY BROTHER AND A SALESMAN DROVE IT AND WAS SCARED TO DEATH THE WHOLE TIME. IT HAS ABOUT 90,000 ON IT NOW AND HE GAVE IT TO ME TO TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. HE IS A MULTI-MILLIONAIRE AND DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO MONKEY WITH THIS STUFF. HE JUST BUYS MORE CARS IF HE NEEDS THEM. HE HAS SPENT MONEY TO TRY TO FIX THE ISSUE WITH REPAIR SHOPS, ROTORS, BRAKE PADS, YOU NAME IT. HE EVEN HAS A SPEED SHOP THAT HE HOLDS WORLD RECORDS PRODUCING FAST THINGS AND HAS A GREAT STAFF THAN CAN FIX ANYTHING ON EARTH. BUT THAT IS NOT HIS REAL BUSINESS. HE WOULDN'T SPEND ANYMORE TIME OR HAVE ANYONE ELSE TRY TO FIX IT ANYMORE UNTIL THE FACTORY OWNS UP TO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IT. I WAS GOING TO LET MY DAUGHTER DRIVE IT BUT WITH A NEW BABY I CAN'T ALLOW THAT. IT IS EXTREMELY SCARY TO DRIVE AND I HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT THAT THIS WAS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE JULY 2007. IT WAS A USED VEHICLE. FROM THE FIRST DAY OF PURCHASE THE WORDS "PASSENGER AIR BAG NEEDS SERVICE" SHOW UP ON THE SCREEN.

THERE IS A STITCHING ON THE SEAT BELT THAT BECOMES STUCK IN THE RETRACTOR. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BELT, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO INSTALL A SEAT BELT EXTENDER. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,000. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED A REPAIR INVOICE AND THE BILL OF SALE FOR THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 08/13/07 *TR
ON 7/20 MY CHEVROLET MALIBU'S SUNROOF EXPLODED. I FELT IT WAS A FLUKE OR DEFECT. I WAS DRIVING ON I-96 AND ENTERING I-94 DURING THE MORNING HEADING TOWARDS MY GRANDSON'S DAY CAMP. AFTER COMING OUT OF THE OVERPASS ENTRANCE FROM 96 TO 94, WITHIN LESS THAN A 1/4 MILE, I HEARD THIS TREMENDOUSLY LOUD SOUNDS AND GLASS BEGAN TO SHOWER ME AND MY GRANDSON CAUSING MINORS CUTS. I AM GRATEFUL I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I LEASED THIS CAR ON 6/1. IT IS LESS THAN 60 DAYS OLD. RICHARD VOSS FROM JEFFERSON CHEVROLET HAD THE GLASS REMOVED WITHOUT SO MUCH AS INDICATING TO ME THAT HE FELT SOMETHING HIT THE CAR AND WHEREAS I HAD EXPLAINED TO HIM, FROM THE DIRECTION I WAS TRAVELING, THE SPEED OF THE WIND THAT DAY, THE SOUND OF THE EXPLOSION, THE LACK OF HEARING ANY OBJECT HIT THE TOP OF THE CAR PRIOR TO THE ERUPTION, ELIMINATED MY OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A CLAIMS ADJUSTER VIEW THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT. I FEEL THAT MY RIGHTS TO A FAIR DETERMINATION WERE ELIMINATED ALONG WITH THE REMOVAL OF ANY EVIDENCE TO VERIFY EITHER CLAIM AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THIS INCIDENT WAS CAUSED FROM THE PENETRATION OF A FOREIGN OBJECT OR A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. GLASS SHATTERED ALL OVER ME AND MY GRANDSON. WE FORTUNATE TO BE ALIVE. WE ONLY SUFFERED MINOR CUTS AND TENSION. I ONLY HOPE THAT IT IS NOT BECAUSE I LIVE IN THE CITY OF DETROIT THAT THIS CLAIM HAS NOT MERITED FURTHER INVESTIGATION; AS WELL AS A MAJOR DEALER NOT WILLING TO ASSIST IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE BROKEN GLASS FROM THE SUNROOF. *TR
EXITING ON OFF-RAMP... ACCELERATOR STUCK... WHEN I REMOVED FOOT FROM BRAKE CAR ACCELERATED AS THE WHEELS WERE TURNED... ALMOST WENT INTO SPIN... TURNED WHEELS IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION AS BRAKES WERE APPLIED... AFTER SPIN WAS UNDER CONTROL... BRAKES WERE RELEASED THEN ACCELERATOR KICKED IN AND VEHICLE SPED UP WHILE WHEELS WERE TURNED AND COLLIDED WITH WALL ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE... *TR
THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT ON MY 2007 CHEVY MAILIBU HAS STITCHING THAT DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO POSITION ITSELF EASILY ON SMALLER PERSONS. THE SEATBELT OFTEN DOES NOT FIT SNUG BECAUSE THE STITCHING DOES NOT SLIDE EASILY THROUGH THE BUCKLE SO THE LAP BELT ISN'T SITTING SNUGLY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD IT IN TWICE AND THE BELT THEY REORDER HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AND THEY SAY THAT THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING MORE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL FAILURES WITH HER VEHICLE SINCE THE DAY IT WAS PURCHASED. THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR DISASSEMBLED WHEN SHE PULLED IT DOWN. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VISOR, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2007, THE POWER LOCKS FAILED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO BE TRAPPED INSIDE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF ACTIVATING THE REMOTE ENTRY, SHE WAS ABLE TO RELEASE THE LOCKS AND EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE DOOR DETONATORS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN NOVEMBER OF 2008, WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH IN RAINY CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO ACTIVATE. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER DUE TO LACK OF VISIBILITY AND WAITED FOR THE RAIN TO STOP. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCHED FAILED AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. ON DECEMBER 22, 2008, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE AN OIL CHANGE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE CABIN FILTER WAS MISSING. HE FURTHER STATED THAT THE CABIN FILTER WAS NEVER PLACED IN THE VEHICLE FROM THE DATE IT WAS MANUFACTURED. THE COST TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WOULD BE $30. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,740.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND VARIOUS SPEEDS THE POWER STEERING FAILED INTERMITTENTLY WHENEVER HE ACCELERATED AND MADE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN. HE ALSO NOTICED A CLICKING NOISE BEHIND THE DASHBOARD AND IMMEDIATELY IT BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND A REPRESENTATIVE GAVE HIM A CLAIM NUMBER IN REFERENCE TO THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,800. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING COLUMN MOTOR AND SENSOR SEVERAL TIMES, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
WHEN APPLIED RIGHT FRONT BRAKE LOCKED UP AND LEFT SKID MARK 4 FEET LONG,NO OTHER BRAKE WHEEL LEFT ANY SKID MARK. THREE SEPARATE SERVICE DEALERS HAD INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND WERE AWARE OF THE KNOCKING SOUND, BUT INFORMED THE CONTACT THE NOISE WAS COMMON WITH THE VEHICLE AND WOULD DIMINISH WITH TIME. MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. CHEVY DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED IT AND I NEED A NEW PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE. THEY SAID THIS IS UP TO ME TO FIND. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A NEW ONE AND CANNOT FIND IT ANYWHERE. I ALSO CALLED GM AND THEY GAVE ME SOME WEBSITES TO TRY, WHICH WAS TO NO AVAIL. MY CAR ONLY HAS 37,000 MILES ON IT AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN A ACCIDENT.
