WHEN ACCELERATING OUT OF A CURVE OR TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. ALSO EXPERIENCED DOOR LOCKS UNLOCKING AND LOCKING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, AND HORN FUSE KEEPS GOING OUT. *TR
THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECOME DIFFICULT TO STEER. PRIOR TO THIS OCCURRING, A BEEP AND THEN A PROMPT ON THE DASHBOARD SHOW THAT AN ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING IS HAPPENING. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND CAME ACROSS RECALL #14772, WHICH IS EXACTLY THE ISSUE I'M DEALING WITH. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE DOES NOT DISPLAY RECALL #14772 WHEN I CONDUCT A SEARCH.
THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT SUDDENLY WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE FREEWAY @ 60 MPH, AND THE WORD POWER STEERING APPEARED ON THE RADIO DISPLAY, THE POWER STEERING HAS NOT WORKED SINCE, I CHECKED MY VIN# TO SEE IF THE CAR WAS INCLUDED ON THE GM. RECALL BUT IT WAS NOT, THE CAR HAS ONLY 78000 MILES, I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. *TR
POWER LOCKS DOESN'T WORK. WINDOWS GOES DOWN SOMETIMES IF THE DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. STEERING WHEEL FIRST BEGUN TO SHAKE BY ITSELF AND TURN WHICHEVER DIRECTION THEN EVENTUALLY LOCKED COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING! CAN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IN ANY DIRECTION AT ALL.
WE BOUGHT MY CAR FROM A POLICE AUCTION IN SAND SPRINGS. THERE WAS NOT REALLY ANY PAPERWORK, SO WE HAD NOTHING TO GO ON, BUT WHAT THE AUCTIONEER TOLD US. WE FOUND OUT THAT THE GAS GAGE WILL NOT READ ANY FUEL IT JUST STAYS ON E, AND THAT IS 600.00 TO FIX, AND THEN ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW THE POWER STEERING WILL JUST GO OUT AND YOU CAN NOT STEER AT ALL. IF YOU ARE A MAN YOU CAN TURN IT, BUT IF YOU ARE A WOMAN OR YOUNG TEEN THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN MAKE A CORNER, AND YOU WILL GET IN AN ACCIDENT. YOU ARE UNAWARE WHEN IT WILL JUST HAPPENED, BUT A BELL IN THE CAR DOES START RINGING, AND READING POWER STEERING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE RECALL NUMBER 14V153000, BUT MY YEAR IS NOT ON IT. PLEASE MAKE IT A RECALL FOR 2007 ALSO. THEY TOLD ME THAT WILL COST 1,000.00 TO FIX THE POWER STEERING. REALLY...IF YOU CAN HELP IN ANYWAY I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.
I INTERMITTENTLY LOSE POWER STEERING, NOW IT IS HAPPENING EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IT IS NOT SAFE. THE WHEEL BEGINS TO TAKE OVER FOR ITS SELF, SO TO SPEAK. GM DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE WHEN MY VEHICLE HAS THE PRECISE ISSUES AS DESCRIBTED IN GM RECALL #13036 AND THE NHTSA # 14V252000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE STEERING STARTED TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT IF I WANTED TO SWITCH LANES OR IF THERE WAS A CURVE IN THE ROAD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MOTOR WAS STARTING TO FAIL. THEY TOLD ME THAT IF IT WAS NOT FIXED, IT COULD COMPLETELY FAIL AND CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. A DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY MILEAGE COVERAGE PERIOD HAD ENDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 140,000.
THE CRUISE CONTROL DON'T WORK THE BRAKE LIGHT'S STAY ON AND GO OFF WHEN YOU PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL.
MY CAR WAS INVOLVED IN A PREVIOUS CHEVROLET RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ABOUT 2-3 YEARS AGO. THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT ENGAGE ALL THE TIME WHEN ON INTERSTATE DRIVING AND WORKS SPORADICALLY. ALSO THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK IN REVERSE WHERE WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS, THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON BUT WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. ALSO, YOU HAVE TO APPLY THE BRAKES HARD TO GET THE LIGHTS TO COME ON. JUST A SLIGHT TAP ON THE BRAKES DOES NOT TURN ON THE BRAKE LIGHTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER HARVEST CHEVROLET (1600 E YAKIMA AVE, YAKIMA, WA 98901) WHERE THE POWER STEERING WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
ENGINE POWER REDUCE AND SERVICE TRACTION LIGHTS COME ON. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. GOES OFF AND ON THROUGH OUT THE WEEK. NO ONE WILL DIAGNOSIS AND THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN MANY PROBLEMS. TIRED OF GM PRODUCTS. NEVER BUYING ANOTHER GM VEHICLE IN THE FUTURE.
TAKARA RECALL THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASH HAS BEEN ON FOR A YEAR. ON THE RADIO PART IT HAS SAID SERVICE AIRBAG. EVERYONE TELLS ME U CAN NOT SERVICE IT. NOW THE RADIO SAYS AIRBAG WARNING AND WANT TO OFF.
MY CAR WAS RECALLED AND FIXED ON 3/17/15 FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL CUTTING OUT AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON. IT WAS FINE UNTIL A MONTH AGO AND IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO SMITH CHEVROLET IN GALLIPOLIS OHIO AND THEY RESET THE COMPUTER, THIS DID NOT HELP. NOW THEY TELL ME THEY NEED TO REPLACE MODULE 02560 PART # 25861370 AND SENSOR 04625 PART # 13597430 AT A COST OF ABOUT $410.00. I FILL THEY DID A PATCH JOB LAST YEAR AND NOW WANT ME TO PAY TO FIX IT. IF I PULL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND PLUG IT IN AND OUT A FEW TIMES EVERYTHING WORKS FINE FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET AND MY REFERENCE # FROM THEM IS 8-2180763999. JAMES AT PHONE #866-790-5700 EXT 5913683 IS TRYING TO HELP ME. I CAN'T DRIVE AROUND WITH MY BRAKE LIGHTS ON ALL THE TIME, IT IS NOT SAFE. I GOT PULLED OVER BY A STATE TROOPER ONCE LAST YEAR BEFORE IT WAS REPAIRED.

ALSO, THE STEERING STAFF TORQUE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,947.
A FEW MONTHS AGO, WE PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVY MALIBU FOR OUR MILITARY DAUGHTER TO TAKE TO HER AIR FORCE BASE IN TX. THE USED CAR HAD LESS THAN 50,000 MILES AND WAS OWNED BY AN OLDER LADY. WE EXPECTED MANY YEARS OF SAFE, RELIABLE TRANSPORT FOR OUR AIRMAN! UNFORTUNATELY, WE NOTICED STEERING PROBLEMS AS SOON AS WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE POWER STEERING WOULD JUST RANDOMLY GO IN AND OUT. IT IS VERY UNNERVING. WE FOUND A COUPLE OF STEERING RECALLS RELATED TO THE 2007 MALIBU, SO WE TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALER IN HILLSBORO, IL. THEY SAID THE RECALL WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED, AND THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR US. WE TRIED ANOTHER DEALER IN HIGHLAND, IL. THEY KINDLY RE-DID THE RECALL WORK RELATED TO A POWER STEERING SENSOR, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WERE STILL ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AFTERWARDS. THEY SAID, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THIS CAR'S STEERING PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THEY PRESUMED THAT HAVING BAD PARTS IN THE CAR FOR TOO LONG HAS CAUSED ISSUES ELSEWHERE IN THE STEERING. HOWEVER, TO REPLACE THE STEERING PARTS THAT COULD BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM WAS GOING TO BE OVER $2,000!! MY MILITARY DAUGHTER CANNOT AFFORD THAT, AND WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE FAULTY PARTS CAUSED BY A KNOWN RECALL. GM KNOWS THE STEERING IN THIS CAR IS PROBLEMATIC AND SHOULD BE FIXING IT! THIS VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY DESIGN FAULT WHERE THE PASSENGER PRESSENCE SENSOR(PPS) DEFAULTS CAUSING THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO COME ON DISSABLING THE WHOLE WHOLE AIRBAG PROTECTION SYSTEM. THIS CAR SHARES THE SAME PARTS WITH THE 2007 SATURN AURA WHOSE MODEL HAS BEEN SAFETY RECALLED FOR TE PPS.

TERRIBLE CLUNKING SOUND IN THE FRONT END WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. EVEN WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND IF STEERING IS MOVED LEFT OR RIGHT YOU CAN HEAR THE CLUCKING NOISE. MY MECHANIC SAID ITS INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ISSUE. WHY THERE IS NO RECALL? SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING COLUMN - RIGHT UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL -MAKES A LOUD POPPOING AND BANGING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN TURNING UP A DRIVEWAY AND HITTTING THE DRIVEWAY BUMP.
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND TURNING, THE CAR MAKES CLUNKING NOISES IN THE FRONT END. ALSO, THE POWER STEERING INTERMEDIATELY IS LOST WHEN FIRST STARING THE CAR. RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL CHIME AND THE DISPLAY WILL SAY POWER STEERING. I'M AFRAID I WILL LOSE POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS. TO CORRECT THIS, THE DEALER WILL BE REPLACING THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT AND THE STEERING MODULE.

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,343.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE BREAK LIGHT BEING ON CONTINUOUSLY WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BEARDMORE CHEVROLET IN BELLEVUE NEBRASKA. I BELIEVED IT WAS A RECALL ISSUE (AND STILL DO), BEARDMORE PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION AND TOLD ME IT WAS NOT. I TOLD THEM THAT SINCE IT WAS NOT A RECALL ISSUE I WOULD TAKE IT TO MY OWN MECHANIC. HOWEVER WHEN I LEFT BEARDMORE CHEVROLET MY BREAK LIGHTS NO LONGER WORKED AT ALL. THEY DID NOT PUT ANYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A SHORT SOMEWHERE IN THE BREAK SYSTEM AND HE ALONG WITH 2 OTHER CERTIFIED GM MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE SHORT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW I CAN GO FROM HAVING BREAK LIGHTS ON ALL THE TIME WHILE DRIVING TO NOT HAVING ANY BREAK LIGHTS AT ALL.

IN OCTOBER OF 2015 I HAD PLACED A CALL TO A CHEVY DEALER IN MY AREA REGARDING A NOTICE I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL ABOUT MY VEHICLE. IT STATED THAT THE EPS ON MY 2007 CHEVY MALIBU COULD MALFUNCTION AT ANYTIME. WHEN I HAD RECEIVED THE LETTER IN THE MAIL, THE VEHICLE WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE STEERING, SUCH AS LOSING POWER STEERING AND THEN REGAINING IT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED COMPLETELY OFF AND RESTARTED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AS THE NOTICE STATES AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ISSUE WAS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUED BY GM, BUT SINCE THE EPS HAD NOT COMPLETELY QUIT WORKING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AT THAT TIME. I WAS APPALLED, BUT CONTINUED DRIVING THE CAR AS IT WAS; WITH THE EPS GOING IN AND OUT. NOW, A FEW MONTHS LATER AND MORE MILES, THE EPS QUIT WORKING AS I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 45 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN, AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOW OVER THE ALLOWED MILEAGE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. WHEN I ORIGINALLY CONTACTED THEM TO FIX IT IN OCTOBER OF 2015 IT WAS UNDER 150,000 MILES AND COULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED AT NO COST TO ME. NOW, IT IS COMPLETELY OUT AND I HAVE 160,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. GM IS REFUSING TO PAY FOR THIS ISSUE; WHICH AS I HAVE READ NUMEROUS PLACES, SEEMS TO BE A HUGE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL MAJOR SPINE SURGERIES AND HAVE NOW HURT MY BACK TRYING TO STEER THE CAR WITHOUT THE EPS ENGAGED.
THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ACTIVATED BACK LAST WINTER WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND I REALIZED THE POWER STEERING FAILED. I SHUT IT OFF AND CALLED MY WORK. I RETURNED A FEW MINUTES LATER, STARTED IT UP AND THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. JUST LAST WEEKEND AT 202,000 MILES THE POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT CONTINUES NOT TO WORK AT ALL. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT WILL BE ABOUT $1000.00 TO FIX IT, MONEY I DO NOT HAVE AT THIS TIME. CHEVY KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING IN THESE VEHICLES. CHEVY NEEDS TO OWN IT AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM AT NO CHARGE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR WORSE. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL VEHICLES THUS FAR IN MY LIFETIME AND NONE OFF THE VEHICLES EVER HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM. IF MY VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 150,000 MILES CHEVY WOULD FIX IT SO THE LETTER THAT WAS SENT TO ME STATES. OBVIOUSLY THE PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURE ERROR AND NEEDS TO BE COVERED NO MATTER WHAT THE MILEAGE.
ABOUT A WEEK AGO, TURNED CAR ON, AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. DASH INDICATED POWER STEERING PROBLEM. TURNED CAR OFF / ON THREE TIMES, AND POWER STEERING CAME BACK TO LIFE. NOW THE STEERING IS VIBRATING / JERKING SLIGHTLY UNDER LOW SPEEDS OR WHILE PARKED. PROBLEM SEEMS SIMILAR TO EARLIER MODEL MALIBU'S WITH BAD TORQUE SENSOR. HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER.
I get in car and start it. When I begin to turn steering wheel, it's very, very, very hard to turn. This happens while I am driving and when The car in park. It has been happening off and on on since 2016. I never understood why and didn't know why. Until I took it to get oil checked and asked how to put power steering fluid in the car.

POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING AND BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND TURN. SOMETIMES THE STEERING WHEEL TURNS ON ITS OWN. CAR HAS TO BE TURNED OFF THEN RESTARTED AND POWER STEERING RETURNS FOR A LITTLE WHILE. IT IS OCCURRING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY.
IT JUNKS FLOATS ALL OVER THE ROAD WHEN LITE UP ON CAR SCREEN HARD TO KEEP STRAIGHT WHEN IT SAYS POWER STEERING IT RUNS DECUESON BUT WHEN IT SAID NOTHING YOU CANT KEEP IT ON THE ROAD . IT ALMOST IS ALWAYS ON MY CREED IT SAY POWER STEERING THAN SOME TIME I START IT AND SCREEN IS BLANK THAT'S WHEN YOU HAVE HELLA SHAKING PULLING SIDE TO SIDE AND WHEN YOU STOP AT STOP LIGHT TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF ITVSHAKE ALL BY IT SELF
POWER STEERING LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON WHEN YOU FIRST START IT AND WHEN CAR IS RESTARTED IT GOES OFF. STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES BACK AND FORTH WHILE IDLING AND POWER STEERING WAS GOING IN AND OUT WHILE DRIVING AND IS NOW COMPLETELY OUT. THIS HAPPENED FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS BEFORE POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT.
RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, I BEGAN TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN WHILE APPLYING MY BRAKES AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP SO THAT I COULD NOT TURN. I WAS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND FORTUNATELY NO OTHER TRAFFIC WAS AROUND ME. EVENTUALLY IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ALSO SEIZE UP SOMETIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING 5MPH OR LESS AND MAKING A SHARP TURN. I HAVE NOT HAD THE FEB 2015 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V064000) OR JULY 2014 (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E044000 ) RECALL WORK DONE AND THE NHTSA WEBSITE SHOWS 0 OPEN RECALLS FOR MY VIN #. I BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED IN DECEMBER OF 2015 AND THE SLOW SPEED STEERING LOSS HAPPENS REGULARLY.

THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 203,120.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFICE MY STEERING WHEEL STOPPED WORKING AND IT BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER. I WAS NEARLY HIT WHILE HAVING TO CROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC AND WHILE STOPPING ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY I HIT THE GUARDRAIL BECAUSE I COULD NOT STEER THE CAR. THIS ALSO CAUSED A TRAFFICE JAM.

THERE IS A RECALL OUT FOR CERTAIN MODELS BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. ALL 2007 CHEVY MALIBU'S NEED TO BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. IT IS GOING TO TAKE MULTIPLE DEATHS OF PEOPLE BEFORE GM ADDS ALL VINS TO THE EXISTING POWER STEERING RECALL.
