MY 2009 CHEVY MALIBU LT (2.4L, 4 CYLINDER) SHOWED ME A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN STATING ' POWER STEERING SERVICE ESC' AFTER MY STEERING WHEEL WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN WHILE DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AT 25 MPH ZONE. I BELIEVE THAT I HAVE AN ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WHEEL ASSIST SINCE I COULDN'T LOCATE THE STEERING POWER WHEEL RESERVOIR AROUND THE ENGINE. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BAR UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT DETACHED FROM THE SEAT AND THE SEAT WAS MOVING WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (RON CRAFT CHEVROLET, 4114 I-10, BAYTOWN, TX 77521) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN THE GEAR WAS SWITCHED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STEVE RAYMAN CHEVROLET (678-269-7886, LOCATED AT 2155 COBB PKWY SE, SMYRNA, GA 30080) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,000.
WE ALREADY HAD THE POWER STEERING FIXED ONCE TWO YEARS AGO. IT HAS RECENTLY WENT OUT AGAIN. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING 70 MILES A HOUR DOWN THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT ALSO WENT OUT ON THE HIGHWAY. IT MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU START THE CAR. YOU HAVE TO KEEP SHUTTING IT OFF AND STARTING IT TO TURN IT BACK ON.
MY CAR WAS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE UNTIL THE POWER STEERING JUST COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. THE ESC COMES UP AND STOPS WORKING AS DOES THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE. THIS MAKES IT NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AND IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM AS OTHER RECALLED VEHICLES BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VEHICLE ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL. I CAN'T PAY FOR THE PROBLEM RIGHT NOW AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO BECAUSE THIS IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM ON MANY OTHER VEHICLES AND SOMETHING GM NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF. ALSO MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY THANK GOD. THANK YOU
I HAVE REPLACED MY PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT THREE TIMES NOW WITHIN THE LAST TWO YEARS. I DONT THINK HEADLIGHTS NEED TO BE REPLACED THIS OFTEN. MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL GO ON AND THEN A LITTLE WHILE LATER WILL GO OFF. I JUST RECENTLY REPLACED MY HEADLIGHT TWO WEEKS AGO AND ITS NOW DOING THE SAME THING...IT COMES ON AND LATER GOES OFF...
MY MALIBU HAS EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING TORQUE SENSOR GOING OUT WHICH CAUSES THE POWER STEERING TO FAIL WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS A RECALL ON OTHER MALIBU VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT NOT MINE. WE ARE HAVING OUR VEHICLE FIXED AS THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN OTHER MALIBUS WITH THIS ISSUE OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL. SHOULD THE RECALL BE EXPANDED?
TAKATA RECALL I WAS AT A STOP SIGN AT A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION. WHEN I PULLED OUT MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I HAD NO WAY IN TURNING THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN PARK THEN TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN TURNING BACK ON VEHICLE WAS FINE. DROVE A MILE TO LOCAL BANK AND IT DID IT AGAIN IN THE DRIVE THRU. AS I WAS TRYING TO MAKE IT TO WORK IT WENT OUT AS I WAS PULLING INTO PARKING LOT. THE FIRST TIME POWER STEERING WENT OUT TWO LANES OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAD TO STOP TO KEEP FROM HITTING MY VEHICLE. I WAS COMPLETELY EXPOSED. THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE AND IN 9 YEARS THIS SHOULD NOT BE A CONCERN FOR MY FAMILY. THE CAR SAID "POWER STEERING" & "ESC" WHEN IT LOCKED DOWN. THERE IS A RECALL # 14772 FOR 2004-2007 MALIBU'S THAT STATE THE SAME ISSUE I AM HAVING.
I LOST POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. MY ESC LIGHT CAME ON AT THE SAME TIME AS A WARNING ABOUT MY POWER STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE 1/19/18. IT IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL THE CAR AT THIS POINT, OF COURSE AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY CAR IS ALSO VERY WELL-MAINTAINED.
THE POWER STEERING SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DISPLAYING THE CODE ESC ON THE DASH. IT MAKES THE VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER ESPECIALLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS. THERE IS A RECALL CURRENTLY ON THIS MODEL AND YEAR BUT I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY TWO DEALERS THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS REALLY PECULIAR SEEING IT'S THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO TURN AND THE ESC OFF DISPLAYED ALSO WITH POWER STEERING ALERT
SMELL OF GAS IN THE CAR WHEN TURNED ON. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE SMELL GOES AWAY. MY MECHANIC LOOKED ALLOVER THE CAR AND CANT FIND THE ISSUE. NO WARNING SIGNS ON THE DASHBOARD.
POWER STEERING BECOMES STIFF AFTER IDLING FOR A FEW MOMENTS. SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART AND PROBLEM GOES AWAY. BRAKE LIGHTS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. POWER DOOR LOCKS WORK INTERMITTENTLY WHEN LOCK BUTTON IS PUSHED SEVERAL TIMES. UNLOCKING DOESN'T WORK AT ALL UNLESS CAR IS PUT IN REVERSE THEN BACK INTO PARK.
01/04/2018 WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND SERVICE ESC LIGHT CAME ON. CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT ALL THE WAY INTO WORK AND HAD NO POWER STEERING.
ISSUE WITH STEERING VEHICLE WHEN IN MOTION OR PARKING.
MY SON'S 2009 MALIBU'S POWER STEER IS GOING OUT AT TIMES. IF HE TURNS OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTS IT WILL COME BACK ON. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE POTENTIAL OF THE STEERING GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING THE CAR.
THE GAS TANK LEAKS . AND I HAVE MET ANOTHER CHEVY MALIBU OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM . AND ALSO THE HEADLIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE KEEPS GOING OUT , AND YES I HAVE MET PLENTY OF OTHER CHEVY OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM .
EVERYTIME I START MY CAR MY STEERING WHEEL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN, & COMES ALONG THE DASHBOARD SCREEN "SERVICE ESC"? THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THE CAR AND IT'S ONLY GETTING WORSE. RECENTLY EVEN STARTED TO OUT OF THE BLUE JUST LOSE ALL STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT WHILE DRIVING, WENT AND HAD IT ESTIMATED FOR THE COST OF REPAIR & THE DEALERSHIP WANTED $1,398? SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!
MY 2009 MALIBU HAS AN INTERMITTENT STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEM. I WAS TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY (UNDER 10MPH) AND LOST POWER STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL, ALMOST HIT OUR SNOWMOBILE TRAILER THE FIRST TIME. THE MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAYED BOTH. THERE IS A RECALL (RECALL NUMBER 14V153000) FOR OTHER 2009 MALIBU'S FOR THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING BUT NOT FOR THE 4 CYLINDER MODEL LIKE MINE. THIS IS A COMMON SAFETY PROBLEM WITH GM AND I DONE UNDERSTAND WHY SOME CARS WITH THE SAME SAFETY PROBLEMS AND PARTS WERE EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO MEREL CHEVROLET (800 W HENDERSON AVE, PORTERVILLE, CA 93257), BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE PRODUCED AND THE DEALER COULD NOT ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND CONTINUED TO SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000.
THE STEERING WHEEL ALMOST LOCKS, HAVE TO USE ALL MY POWER TO MAKE ANY TURNS. THIS HAPPENS ON ALL ROAD WAYS WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. I HAVE SEE THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS IN THE EXACT YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. HOWEVER, IT SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL WITH MY VIN.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING RANDOMLY AND THEN JUST STOPS WITH MESSAGES: POWER STEERING, SERVICE ESC, ESC OFF. POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND IN REGULAR CITY DRIVING WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE. STEERING WHEEL ALSO SHAKES BACK AND FORTH BY ITSELF. IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, WHILE AT A RED LIGHT. THIS COULD BE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER AWAY QUICK ENOUGH BECAUSE OF THE STRENGTH NEEDED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS STARTING MY CAR IN A PARKING LOT AN HOUR FROM HOME AND MY DASH LIGHTS COME ON AFTER STARTING. IT WENT THROUGH ABS, POWER STEERING AND OTHERS. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST BUT HAD NEVER DONE POWER STEERING. AS A RESULT, THE POWER STEERING TURNED OFF. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND IT WAS FINE UP UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. THIS TIME IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO MANHANDLE THROUGH THE TURN UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. IT ALL MAKES FOR A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I'M HESITANT NOW ABOUT DRIVING THE CAR. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND GM HAS MADE A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE IN 2014 BUT, UNFORTUNATELY, THEY ONLY RECALLED SO MANY. I FEEL AS IF THIS BECOMES AN ISSUE WITH VEHICLES THAT WERE NOT PART OF THE RECALL THAT THEY SHOULD HONOR THERE PRODUCT AND PAY FOR THE CORRECTION, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE IT IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD ALMOST ONLY BE CORRECTED AT A CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP.
MY 2009 MALIBU 4 CYLINDER POWER STEERING(ESC) LOCKED WHILE DRIVING IN MY COMMUNITY.
LOST POWER STEERING ABILITY-TURNS OFF AND ON AT CERTAIN TIMES. OCCURS WHILE DRIVING OR IS ALREADY ON IMMEDIATE TO STARTING CAR. VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN WHEEL. ALL OTHER VIN'S WERE FIXED OR REPLACED BY GM FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WHEN I DRIVE IN COLD WEATHER, AM ACCELERATING AND TURNING TO THE LEFT AT ANY VARIATION OF DEGREE. FRIGHTENING THAT IT HAPPENS WHILE I'M DRIVING AND HAVE NO UPPER BODY STRENGTH. THE SENSOR FLASHED AND THEN DISAPPEARED. ONCE THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND TURNED ON AGAIN THERE WERE NO MORE ISSUES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE SO I'D HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO THEM WHILE THE PROBLEM WAS HAPPENING.
SERVICE ESC WILL COME ON AND POWER STEERING WILL LOCK UP
THE SERVIE ESC POWER STEERING NOTIFICATION IS ON MY DASH AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. I CANNOT DRIVE WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING AND THERE WAS A RECALL #14116 BUT IT DOESN'T COVER THE 2.4 4 CYLINDER MODELS AND MY CAR ALSO HAS 164,000 MILES SO GM STATED THAT IT IS NOT COVERED.
THE CALIPER ARMS ON BOTH OF MY PASSENGER SIDE TIRES HAVE GOTTEN STUCK, WORE DOWN THE NEW BRAKE PADS COMPLETELY AND DESTROYED THE ROTORS OF MY CAR IN THE PAST. THE DEALERSHIP'S WARRANTY HAD COVERED THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PADS, CORRECTION OF ARMS AND ROTORS PREVIOUSLY BUT THE SECOND OCCURRENCE HAPPENED AFTER MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND WAS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE GOT STUCK THE SENSOR FOR MY TIRE PRESSURE WAS SHOWING BUT THERE WAS NO HESITATION OR ISSUE WITH BREAKING. A SOFT DRAGGING SOUND LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THE SENSOR ITSELF HAD DISCONNECTED FROM THE VEHICLE AND WAS DRAGGING ON THE GROUND AND MAKING A SOFT BUT STRANGE NOISE. ITS GOING TO TAKE ME 2 WEEKS TO GET INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN APPOINTMENT ' SINCE THEN, MY REAR ROTOR HAS BECOME EFFECTED AND WILL NEED REPLACING. THIS MORNING THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSOR REMAINED ON THE SCREEN BUT WHEN I FIRST STARTED DRIVING AND ATTEMPTED TO USE MY BREAKS, I DID NOT STOP AND MY FOOT TOUCHED THE GROUND AS I PRESSED THE PEDAL. AS I PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MY OFFICE (ABOUT 45 MINUTES OF MORNING COMMUTE), MORE LIGHTS LIT UP THE BACK PANEL INCLUDING THE EMERGENCY BREAK LIGHT, THE 'BRAKE FLUID,' WARNING, 'SERVICE ESC,' FOLLOWED BY 'ESC OFF' SCROLLED ACROSS THE DASH AND MY BREAKS DID NOT WORK AT ALL WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO SLOWLY STOP. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE ESC WARNING LIGHT COMING ON PREVIOUSLY AND STOPPING MY POWER STEERING FROM WORKING BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE WARNING SO THEY COULDN'T HELP ME.
KEY FOB QUIT WORKING. BOUGHT NEW KEY FOB FROM CHEVROLET AND CHEVROLET MECHANIC COULD NOT GET IT TO PROGRAM. LOCK SWITCHES ON DOOR STOP WORKING. CAR WILL LOCK ITSELF. HAD TO PAY FOR LOCK SMITH BECAUSE IT LOCKED ME OUT.
RECIEVED A RECALL FROM GM ABOUT WIRING HARNESS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE, THEY DID, OR SO I THOUGHT. CAR SHAKES AND JERKS AS THE SERVICE ECS, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATES AS I AM DRIVING. TOOK IT IN FOR A FOX WAS TOLD THE ISSUE WAS A BAD SENSOR, DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN THE SNOW 2 DAYS LATER CAME TO A STOP LIGHT CAR SHOOK AS IF IT WAS GOING TO LOSE POWER AND SHUT OFF, SERVICE ESC, AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. THIS CAR IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE! WAITING TO SEE WHAT THE ISSUE IS NOW. THIS WILL BE THE 4TH TIME I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE!
EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR IS VERY HUMID MY ALL OF THE DOOR LOCKS WILL RANDOMLY LOCK AND UNLOCK ' WHETHER I'M DRIVING OR THE CAR IS OFF AND I AM NOT INSIDE. ITS CREEPY. THE DOOR PANEL ON THE DRIVER SIDE INITIALLY STOPPED WORKING AND WAS REPLACED IN JANUARY 2018 BUT BY FEB THE PANEL HAD STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR ONLY LOCKS MANUALLY AND NEVER RESPONDED TO DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL CONTROLS WHEN THEY WERE FUNCTIONING. NOW THAT MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, MANUAL LOCKING IT IS.
POWER STEERING CAME ON RANDOMLY AND STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. VEHICLE HAD NEVER HAD A POWER STEERING PROBLEM BEFORE.
IVE BEEN SEEING MY POWER STEERING LIGHT COME ON SOMETIMES WHEN I CRANK MY CAR AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULDNT TURN. I WOULD TURN OFF MY CAR AND THEN RESTART MY CAR AND IT WOULD GO AWAY. ON SUNDAY DECEMBER 3RD 2017 I WAS HEADED HOME AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND I COULD BARELY FORCE MY CAR TO TURN AN INCH TO MISS THE LIGHT POLE I WAS ABOUT TO HIT. NOW MY STEERING WHEEL WILL NOT TURN AT ALL AND I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR.
TURNED RIGHT OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED. THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, MAKING THE STEERING WHEEL VERY HARD TO TURN. THE POWER STEERING WARNING ILLUMINATED ON THE INFORMATION PANEL. DROVE HOME SEVERAL MILES, TURNED OFF THE CAR, RESTARTED IT TO DIAGNOSE IT, AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED CORRECTLY. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. OTHER '09 MALIBUS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT NOT MY VIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO APPROACH A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE BUMPER BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE NECK AND BACK. THE CONTACT SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON. DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. SHOWING CODE P1174 & NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THIS IS. POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET.ESC LIGHT WILL TURN ON. DASHBOARD LIGHTS WILL GO ON AND OFF. DOORS WILL LOCK THEM SELVES LOCKING ME INSIDE.THIS IS HAPPENING SINCE AUGUST 2017-PRESENT (12-29-17).MULTIPLE TRIPS TO DEALERSHIP WHERE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AND ALL THEY DO IS RESET SENSOR AND TELL ME TO WAIT UNTIL IT BREAKS. I'D SAY IT IS ALREADY BROKEN.
LOST THE 35R GEARS IN MY 6T45 TRANSMISSION JUST AS THE 6T70 & 6T75 TRANSMISSION WHICH ARE UNDER TSB 14404 BUT AS GM NOTED IT'S ONLY FOR THE V6 ENGINES (HIGH OUTPUT) AND NOT THE 2.4L ENGINES. SAME ISSUE BUT NOT COVERED. I ONLY HAVE 107,000 MILES ON THE CAR, ENGINE RUNS GREAT, BODY IS IN GREAT SHAPE JUST HAVE A BAD TRANSMISSION. LOOKING TO GET A TSB TO COVER THE 6T40 & 6T45 TRANSMISSIONS. DEALERSHIP EVEN TRIED TO CONTACT GM ABOUT THIS WITH NEGATIVE RESULTS.
I AM NOT SURE WHERE TO START. DOOR LOCKS INTERMITTENTLY DON'T WORK, BLUETOOTH JUST STOPPED WORKING, HAVE HAD TO CHANGE HEADLIGHT BULBS 3 TIMES IN 2 YEARS, POWER STEERING WENT OUT (HAD THAT REPAIRED BY DEALER AT NOT COST), AC/HEATER/DEFROSTER USED TO SHUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY, NOW IT JUST STOPPED WORKING, DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HEATER STOPPED WORKING, INSTRUMENT PANEL RANDOMLY THROWS UP ERROR CODE (EXAMPLE: SERVICE AIRBAG, SERVICE ENGINE) OH AND THE PAINT IS FADING ON HOOD ROOF AND TRUNK. CAR HAS 75,000 MILES AND I USED TO LOVE IT. NO I WON'T DRIVE IT OUT OF TOWN.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.
SERVICE ESC LIGHTS COMES ON AND THE SERVICE ABS
MY SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WAS COMING HOME FROM CHEERING AT A BASKETBALL GAME AT 9:30 P.M. SHE WAS DRIVING UP SIGNAL MOUNTAIN FROM DUNLAP TENNESSEE ON HWY127 ABOUT THREE-QUARTERS OF THE WAY UP THE MOUNTAIN HER POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. WHILE TRYING TO GET CONTROL OF THE CAR SHE WAS UNABLE TO MAKE A TURN AND RAN INTO THE GUARDRAIL, DESTROYING THE GUARDRAIL AND THEN SHOT ACROSS THE ROAD ENDING UP IN A EMBANKMENT. THANK GOD SHE WAS NOT PHYSICALLY HURT. HER CAR IS TOTALED AND SHE IS COMPLETELY TRAUMATIZED, HAVING NIGHTMARES AND NOT WANTING TO DRIVE EVER AGAIN. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE OR ANY KIND OF WARNING THAT THIS WAS A POSSIBILITY OF HAPPENING OR I WOULD HAVE MOST DEFINITELY HAD IT FIXED. THE POWER STEERING HEAD WENT OUT ONE OTHER TIME BEFORE AND SHE PARKED THE CAR AND BY TIME MY HUSBAND GOT TO WHERE SHE WAS THE POWER STEERING WAS BARKING AGAIN WE HAD THE CAR INSPECTED BY A MECHANIC AND HE SAID HE COULD SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH IT THIS WAS ABOUT A YEAR AGO SO WE JUST ASSUMED IT WAS A ONE-TIME OCCURRENCE LITTLE DID WE KNOW IT ALMOST KILLED OUR DAUGHTER HAD THIS HAPPENED 15 FT SOONER WHERE THERE WAS NO GUARDRAIL SHE WOULD HAVE WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN AND MORE THAN LIKELY DIED. IT'S VERY DISTURBING THAT I KNEW NOTHING VERY IRRESPONSIBLE OF CHEVROLET I DO HAVE A POLICE REPORT WITH ALL OF THIS STATED ON IT I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET IT AT THE TIME OF REPORTING THIS THAT WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SEND IT IF NEEDED. AT THIS TIME MY DAUGHTER HAS NO CAR SHE IS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL FIXING TO GO TO COLLEGE IN LESS THAN A YEAR SO WE ARE STUCK PAYING FOR COLLEGE AND A CAR BECAUSE SHE ONLY HAD LIABILITY INSURANCE. THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY GOING OUT. SOMETIMES THEY WILL COME BACK ON BY THEMSELVES OR IF WE MOVE THINGS AROUND A BIT, BUT MOST OF THE TIME THEY STAY OFF. MOST OF THE TIME IT IS ONE OR THE OTHER, BUT AS OF TODAY BOTH OF MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE OUT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER, RESTARTED, AND THE WARNING INDICATOR DIMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK SOUTH BOUND ON 1 ST AVENUE WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE TURN FROM ON COMING TRAFFIC TO CROSS IN FRONT OF ME TO HEAD WEST BOUND WHEN WE IMPACTED MY SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN ME AT ALL MY HEAD HIT THE DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW VERY HARD AND DEFLECTED OFF AND CONTINUED TO THE HIT THE FRONT WINDOW THEN AIRBAG THEN DEPLOYED AFTER TO THROW BE BACK INTO MY SEAT AFTER.
THE 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE "ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST". I CURRENTLY OWN A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU AND HAD AN INCIDENT OVER THE WEEKEND IN WHICH MY POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS LOST AND STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE AND WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER, THEY ADVISED THAT THESE MODELS HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE WAS 1025 MILES OVER THE MILEAGE TO HAVE IT FIXED UNDER THE RECALL. AFTER RESEARCH ON GM SITE ON THE NHTSA SITE, WE FOUND INFORMATION COLLABORATING THIS RECALL, IN WHICH IT STATED THAT UNDER THIS RECALL THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO FIX THIS; HOWEVER, MY CHEVROLET MALIBU'S VIN NUMBER DID NOT POP UP ON THIS RECALL. NHTSA STATES THAT THIS PROBLEM AFFECTS 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU'S AND DOES NOT LIST VIN'S AFFECTED. WE WOULD ASSISTANCE IN HAVING THIS VEHICLE ALSO ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST AND HAVING GM FIX THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000. *BF CONSUMER WAS TURNING RIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON MCDONOUGH PKWY AND REALIZED IT WAS HARDER TO STEER, AT THE SAME TIME A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET I SUDDENLY FELT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK UP ON ME MAKING IT EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR INTO A PARKING LOT WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I WAS THEN TOLD MY THE AUTO SHOP THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE STEERING COLUMN PROBLEM WHICH APPARENTLY IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH MY CAR BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL?
