I BOUGHT THE CAR IN APRIL.2020, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT TURN OFF. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CHEVY DEALER AND THE PUT IT ON A MACHINE TO CHECK AND SEE IF IT NEEDED TO BE RESET. THEY TOLD ME AT THAT TIME THE 2013 MALIBU HAD A RECALL ON OVER HALF OF THE MALIBU AIRBAGS FROM THE SAME YEAR. THEY CAN FIX IT. AND FOR ME TO KEEP CHECKING FOR MY VIN TO SHOW UP ON THE RECALL LIST. AND THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL IT GETS REPLACED. PLEASE AD MY VIN# TO THE RECALL LIST ASAP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.
ON MOST OF THE 2013 CHEVY MALIBU THE AIR BAG HAS BEEN RECALLED MY CAR HAS HAD THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2013. I DON'T FEEL SAFE AND WHEN I CALLED CHEVY DIRECTLY THEY TOLD ME TO JUST KEEP CHECKING MY VIN # SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL FOR THE AIR BAG SOON. IT'S STILL NOT SHOWING UP. I KEEP GETTING A WARNING LOW ENGINE POWER, SOME ONE SAID DON'T DRIVE A CAR THAT SAYS THIS.

THE CONTACT CALLED VALMARK CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 725 I-35 SOUTH, NEW BRAUNFELS, TX 78130, (830)-214-1742, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED IN 2013 UNDER AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT APPROXIMATELY THIRTY MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE RODE OVER A BUMP IN THE ROADWAY AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
EXTREME EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, 5 QUARTS OVER JUST 2,000 MILE PERIOD WITHOUT ANY NOTICEABLE LEAKS. MECHANIC SAID EVERYTHING APPEARS WELL AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SAME ENGINE, 2.4 ECOTEC, ON THE EARLIER MODEL EQUINOX MODELS WITH PISTONS AND CRANK SEALS. GM HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 14882 AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT ASSIST ME WITH THIS PROBLEM IN ANY WAY BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THEIR DATABASE WHEN THE BULLETIN SPECIFICALLY STATES MY MAKE, YEAR, AND MODEL OF VEHICLE AND WHAT IS WRONG, SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH PAYING AN ENORMOUS BILL BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT BUILT CORRECTLY BY GM WHO KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND EVEN HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT IT. *TR

THE CONTACT BUCKLED THE SEAT BELT AND THE ALARM CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I GOT A ERROR MESSAGE POWER STEERING ISSUE, & THEN THE KEY STUCK IN THE STEERING WHEEL & WON'T COME OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE. I WAS GETTING READY TO DRIVE IT. NOW MY CAR WON'T START & I STILL GET THE ERROR MESSAGE.
WHILE ON THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY THE CAR POWER OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING .IT HAS HAPPENED ON MANY OCCASIONS. IT IS DANGEROUS
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE EASSIST SYSTEM. THE AUTO STOP FUNCTION CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL AND STOP AND SHAKE SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND STOP AT THE LIGHT OR STOP SIGN I HAVE TO DRIVE IN MANUEL MODE TO DRIVE THE CAR. IF THE CAR NOT IN PART OF IT'S NEUTRAL THE CAR HAS ROLLED BACKWARDS OFF THE PARKING PAD. THAT HAPPENED JUST ONE TIME TO ME. AFTER READING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THIS, I KEEP THE SAFETY BREAK ON. ALSO I READ ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE E ASSIST . I'M CURRENTLY HAVING THE SAME ISSUES BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED. I GOT THE CAR USED AND ONLY HAD IT FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR.
2013 CHEVY MALIBU LTZ CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 65MPH NO WARNING. PLENTY OF FUEL.RADIO AND SIGNAL LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING FIRST. NEW BATTERY PUT IN, WORKED FOR A MONTH. SAME THING WHILE DRIVING THROUGH INTERSECTION. HUSBAND UNPLUGGED BATTERY AND PLUGGED BACK IN. WORKED FINE FOR A FEW DAYS. TODAY IT WOULDN'T START NO POWER AT ALL. UNHOOKED BATTERY AND IT STARTED AGAIN. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST COMPLAINT ON THIS AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED.

2019CAR OVERHEATING SENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE SENSOR MOVING UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING IT. IN A LESS THEN 10 MIN DRIVE THE CAR SAID IT WAS OVER HEATING AND WHEN MECHANIC TOUCH ENGINE IT WAS STILL COLD. THE FANS ARE ALSO NOT TURNING ON WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AND HEATER IS NOT WORKING. NOW IN 2020 THE CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING SENSOR IS MOVING UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING AFTER A 5 MIN DRIVE THE FANS TURN ON AS IF ENGINE IS HOT WHEN TURNED OFF BUT HEATER ISN'T WORKING WHILE DRIVING IT. ANOTHER THING WHEN TURNING ON A/C SOMETIMES HEAT COME ON INSTEAD OF COOL AND COOL DURING HEAT SETTING

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE NEW. A MONTH AFTER PAYING IT OFF, ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH BOARD WOULD BLINK ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. NO LIGHTS ON THE PANEL WOULD SHOW. THIS HAPPENED FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THE CAR WAS HAVING INTERMENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE TURN SIGNALS, AND RADIO GOING OFF AND ON. NOW, THE RADIO STOPPED COMPLETELY, AND THE TURN SIGNALS DO NOT FUNCTION. I HAVE A LOW BATTERY AFTER TESTING. IS THIS PART OF THE GENERATOR MODULE RECALL?? IT IS VERY UNSAFE FOR MY DAUGHTER TO DRIVE, AS THERE IS NOTHING LIT UP ON DISPLAYS ANYMORE.

THE AIR BAG LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON RIGHT AFTER I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. AT THAT MOMENT I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW A LOT ABOUT CARS AND THE SALES PERSON TOLD ME THEY FIXED MY ISSUE AND THAT I SHOULD BE FINE WITH THE VEHICLE. I CAN GET MY ENGINE LIGHT TAKEN CARE OF SINCE IT WAS MY FAULT, BUT I SEE SO MANY RECALLS OUT ON THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE FOR THE AIRBAG AND THERE IS NONE FOR MINE. I REALLY NEED ASSISTANCE WITH THE AIRBAG AND I BELIEVE IT IS A RECALL.

WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CUTS OFF, MAKING IT HARD TO STEER AND AFFECTING OTHER ELECTRICAL CONTROLS SUCH AS: TOUCH SCREEN, LIGHTS, AND CONTROL PANEL. MY GAUGE CLUSTER STARTED MALFUNCTIONING 2 WEEKS AGO WHILE SITTING IN CAR ON PARKED POSITION. KICKS ON FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES THEN WILL GO BLACK DOESN'T MATTER IF I'M DRIVING. MY GM MECHANIC ORDERED THE PART BUT STILL HAS NOT ARRIVED, THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED IT SEEMS UP TO THIS YEAR. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIX MY CHEVY IF I CANNOT GET THE PART. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE I TRANSMISSION IN THE PARK POSITION. VEHICLE MESSAGE CENTER KEEP SAYING TO PLACE CAR IN PARK. MUST MOVE SHIFT LEVER BETWEEN 5 -20 TIMES TO FINALLY GET IT TO STAY IN PARK POSITION. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT SO MECHANIC HAS TROUBLE DIAGNOSING PROBLEM. CAR ONLY HAS ABOUT 50K MILES ON IT.
RADIO QUIT WORKING AND WON'T COME BACK ON. I GOT IN MY CAR ONE DAY TO GO TO WORK AND THE SCREEN WAS BLANK AND HASN'T COME BACK ON SINCE. IT WAS WORKING FINE THE DAY BEFORE NO ISSUES OR ANYTHING ODD HAPPENED BEFORE IT WENT OUT. I'VE SEEN PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE RADIOS GOING OUT.

BYRIDER CEDAR RAPIDS (3837 1ST AVE SE, CEDAR RAPIDS, IA 52402, (319) 866-7179) INITIALLY CLAIMED TO HAVE REPAIRED THE WIRING HARNESS DURING A PREVIOUS VISIT ONE WEEK AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE DEALER LATER ADMITTED THAT THEY DID NOT REPAIR THE WIRING HARNESS. THE CONTACT OWNED THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED CAMP CHEVROLET CADILLAC AT 866-568-0669) AND WAS QUOTED A TOTAL REPAIR COST OF $288. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,300.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SYSTEM SENSOR LIGHT HAD REMAINED ILLUMINATED INDICATING THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS FAULTY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER DAVE WHITE CHEVROLET (5880 MONROE ST., SYLVANIA OH) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
I BOUGHT THIS 2013 MALIBU IN FEBRUARY 2014. IN 2016 IT STARTED WITH THE MANY ISSUES. THE HYBRID SYSTEM WHEN STOPPED AT STOP SIGN OR LIGHT WOULD DIE. THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY DIE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THAT LEAD TO THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT. EVERY CODE ON THE DASH BOARD WOULD COME ON. THEN THE BATTERY WOULD JUST COMPLETELY DIE AND NEED TO BE JUMPED. IT WOULD RUN OK FOR A FEW DAYS THEN BE DEAD THE NEXT. MORE AND MORE THE BATTERY WOULD COMPLETELY BE DEAD EVERY FEW DAYS. HAD TWO NEW BATTERIES INSTALLED AND IT WOULD TEST FINE USUALLY. SEEMED THAT SOMETHING WAS DRAINING IT SOMEHOW. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER MANY TIME AND COULD NEVER GET A DEFINITIVE ANSWER. FINALLY IN NOVEMBER 2019 I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT COMPLETELY DIED AND WOULD NOT TAKE A CHARGE (JUMP). STRANDED ON THE HIGH I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO COYLE CHEVROLET ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE A HYBRID MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT. THEN HAD IT TOWED TO BACHMAN CHEVROLET ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME AFTER HAVING IT FOR TWO WEEKS THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE. EITHER THEY NEEDED TO DISASSEMBLE IT TO FIND THE PROBLEM OR I WOULD NEED TO GET A NEW ENGINE FOR $7,000. I HAD A CLAIM WITH GM BUT THEY ALSO JUST GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. THE CAR ITSELF IS ONLY WORTH $3,500-$4,500. I STILL WAS PAYING ON THE LOAN FOR IT ALSO. NOT ONLY HAVE I NOT HAD A CAR SINCE NOVEMBER I HAVE A CAR THAT WON'T START AND CAN NOT TRADE IN ON ANOTHER CAR. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES NO RECALLS ARE ON THE CAR FOR THEM. VERY FRUSTRATING SITUATION I DEALT WITH FOR A FEW YEARS WITH THE CAR AND NO SOLUTION FOR A FIX. I LOVED THAT CAR AND CHEVY BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THEM. NEED TO INVEST IN ANOTHER MODEL I GUESS.
I HAVE A 2013 MALIBU LT WITH 52,000 MILES ON IT. LAST MONTH ON THE 20TH OF NOVEMBER SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING STARTED TO FLASH ON THE INFORMATION SYSTEM. WHEN THAT HAPPENS MY DOORS WOULD LOCK AND MY CAR WOULD STALL. HOWEVER; UNLIKE MOST OTHER CONSUMERS WHO ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM MY STEERING WHEEL DIDN'T GET TIGHT AND I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR. I COULD NOT DO MORE THAN 40MPH AND SOMETIMES IF I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD SERVICE POWER STEERING WOULD COME ON AND THE DOORS WOULD LOCK AND THE CAR WOULD STALL AND THEN GO BACK TO NORMAL. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO GENESIS CHEVROLET TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR ABOUT A GOOD 4 TO 5 HOURS. THEY THEN CAME AND INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CARE BECAUSE, NO CODES WHERE POPPING UP AND THE MECHANIC TRIED 4 TIMES BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE SITUATION I WAS HAVING. IT IS NOW DECEMBER 11TH AND I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I JUST DROVE TO WORK TODAY AND WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN DOWN THE STREET LEADING TO MY JOB THE SERVICE POWER STEERING FLASHED AGAIN ,THE CAR STALLED ,AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS TIME THE CAR SLOWED ALL THE WAY DOWN UNTIL IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IT WAS STILL ON AND RUNNING. MY RADIO STILL WORKED MY HEAT WAS STILL ON AND I STILL COULD SHIFT MY GEAR SHIFT. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK TURNED IT OFF FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND THEN STARTED IT BACK UP. WHEN I STARTED IT BACK UP THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE MY CAR AND PULL INTO THE PARKING LOT OF MY JOB. *TR
THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAD TO GET A NEW IGNITION BACK IN NOV 2017. NOW NOV 2019 THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING. IM AFRAID THIS MY BE A EVERY TWO YEAR PROBLEM. I'VE FOUND OUT HOW TO GET THE KEY UNSTUCK BUT THAN THREE HOURS HAD PAST WAITING FOR HELP AND MY BATTERY HAD DIE.
WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT IN FARMINGVILLE, NY ON 11/8/19, AS I ATTEMPTED TO COME TO A STOP, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I REALIZED I HAD JUST LOST MY BRAKES. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, I WAS HEADING TOWARD A STEEP DOWNGRADE WHICH WOULD HAVE SENT MY CAR RIGHT INTO TRAFFIC ON A BUSY, 6 LANE HIGHWAY. THANKFULLY I MANAGED TO STOP THE CAR BEFOREHAND. I FIND OUT TODAY THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER IN MY CAR FAILED -- AS IT HAS IN SEVERAL 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBUS. IVE OWNED THE VEHICLE JUST GOING ON 7 MONTHS NOW AND ALWAYS KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THE 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU FOR THE BRAKE BOOSTER -- WHICH I CAN SAY, FIRSTHAND, IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. AN UNKNOWN ORANGE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED AS SHE ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE A SPARE KEY IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE SPARE KEY ALSO FAILED TO START THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
WHILE IN MOTION, THE FRONT DEFROST STOPPED WORKING AND ALL AIR STARTED BLOWING FROM OTHER VENTS. THIS CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO FOG OBSTRUCTING VISION. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO TURN THE DEFROST BACK ON WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. AIR CONTINUES TO BLOW FROM ALL OTHER VENTS. IT APPEARS AS IF A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE 2014 MALIBU FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.

WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT ON A VERY BUSY CITY STREET THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BREAK AND THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT STARTED RUNNING LIKE IT SHOULD, THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THIS HAPPENED. IN ANOTHER INCIDENT WHILE I REVERSED THE CAR THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHTS, I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AGAIN AND RESTART IT TO GET THE ENGINE RUNNING AGAIN.
I PURCHASED A 2013 CHEVY MALIBU 53,000 MILES IN OCTOBER OF 2018 FROM BOB PULTE CHEVROLET. THE CAR RAN GREAT UNTIL ALMOST A YEAR TO THE DATE OF PURCHASE, AT 72,534 MILES, ISSUES BEGAN. WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, FOOT ON BRAKE, I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD AND NOTICED THE RPM NEEDLE HAD DROPPED TO 0 & THE CAR HAD STALLED.I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED THE KEY OFF AND THEN BACK ON TO START THE CAR. IT SOUNDED AS IF IT DIDN'T WANT TO START BUT ULTIMATELY DID. I CONTINUED DRIVING AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT THE NEXT RED LIGHT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP WHICH WAS FIRESTONE, TO HAVE IT CHECKED & WAS TOLD THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY NEEDED REPLACED. THE FOLLOWING WEEK THE CAR STALLED AS IT HAD 1ST TIME & THEN SPORADICALLY AGAIN AND AGAIN WHEN I SLOWED DOWN APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, STOP SIGN & WHEN PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. EACH TIME THE CAR STALLED IT WAS DIFFICULT TO START AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO A DIFFERENT FIRESTONE FOR A FRESH SET OF EYES. THIS TIME THE CAR STALLED WHEN THEIR TECHNICIAN DROVE THE CAR. A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING WAS RECOMMENDED & DONE. THE NEXT SUGGESTION WAS TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. WHEN THE CAR DOES STALL I WOULD LOSE POWER TO EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE RADIO. THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF, DOORS STAY LOCKED & THE CAR CANNOT BE STEERED.I NEXT TOOK THE CAR TO THE BOB PULTE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP & DISCUSSED THE PROBLEM WITH THEM. AFTER HAVING THE CAR FOR TWO DAYS, THEY ADVISED THE CAR DID NOT STALL WHEN THEY DROVE IT, THERE WERE NO CODES, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON & WITHOUT THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AT WORK, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN. I CALLED BOB PULTE AGAIN-THEY SAID THEY WOULD UPDATE THE ECM MODULE AND REPROGRAM THE THROTTLE BODY AND EVERYTHING THAT GOES ALONG WITH IT - BELIEVING FIRESTONE WAS UNABLE TO DO IT. THE CAR CONTINUES TO STALL.
MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU LT1 ECO IS A HYBRID. ONE DAY DRIVING TO WORK MY POWER STEERING STARTED GOING OUT. AS I KEPT DRIVING, BECAUSE I WAS CLOSE TO WORK, MY CAR WOULD GRADUALLY START DYING. SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING MY CAR DIED ON ME AND MY POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE. I HAD TO STRUGGLE JUST TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I ALMOST GOT HIT TRYING TO PULL OVER. SEEING HOW ITS A NEWER VEHICLE AND WELL MAINTAINED I DON'T SEE HOW THIS ISN'T A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITH A FAULTY PART. CALLING AROUND TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP MECHANIC SHOPS THEY ARE SAYING ITS THE ALTERNATOR GENERATOR THAT COMES WITH HYBRID VEHICLES. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I'VE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITH FAULTY PARTS AND EVEN SOME WERE RECALLED, I DON'T SEE WHY CHEVY IS NOT RECALLING THIS VEHICLE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. IT'S JUST PUTTING DRIVERS AT RISK. I DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY THAT HAS HEAVY TRAFFIC FROM LOGGING TRUCKS. IF MY POWER STEERING WOULD HAVE WENT OUT WHILE A LOGGING TRUCK WAS COMING TOWARDS ME, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH MY PASSENGER.
I LOOKED UP ON PREVIOUS RECALL BEFORE I EVEN BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND SEEN THE PART IN QUESTION WAS REPLACED BEFORE I BOUGHT IT, UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13136 OR 13142, WHAT THE CAR IS DOING IS THE EXACT SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN THE RECALL, IT LOSESCHARGE AND DIES ON THE HIGHWAY, I HAVE CONTACTED GM AND TGHE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM AND WAS TOLD IT WAS REPLACED ONCE, AND IS NO LONGER THEIR PROBLEM, I SEEN ON ANOTHER SITE THAT IF THE RECALL PART IS AGAIN FAULTY, THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE, SO ARE THEY? THIS HAS HAPPENED IN OCT 2019 AND NOV 2019 STRANDING MY DAUGHTER FOR HOURS.
WHEN OPERATING MY VEHICLE WHEN I'M AT A STOP SIGN OR A RED LIGHT OR STUCK IN TRAFFIC THE CAR COMPLETELY DIES THEREFORE I HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL OR PARK TO RESTART THE CAR WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHILE I HAVE CHILDREN WITH ME AT THE TIME OR EVEN BY MYSELF WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.
WINDSHIELD DEFROST DOES NOT WORK. HAD DIAGNOSED AND HAS CODE OF THE HVAC CONTROL MODULE IS BAD.
SERVICE AIRBAGS LIGHT CAME ON WHILE PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. ALARM FOR AIRBAGS GOES OFF EVERY 30 SECONDS AND IT WILL NOT GO OFF. THE AIRBAG ALERT LIGHT IS ON AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF WITH OR WITHOUT SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

WHILE DRIVING HOME, THE FAILURE RECURRED AS THE CONTACT PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED. THE CONTACT CALLED HALL CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (385 W DALLAS ST, CANTON, TX 75103, 903-567-8148) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.

MY 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU HEADLIGHTS SPECIFICALLY THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT, I'VE REPLACED THE BULB, AND EVENTUALLY I HAD THE WIRING INSIDE FIXED BECAUSE IT WAS EXPOSED. I BOUGHT THE CAR CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND NEVER REALIZED UNTIL RECENTLY THAT THE ELECTRICAL WIRES THAT LEAD TO THE BULB SOCKET WERE CUT AND THEN TWIST TIED BACK TOGETHER AND WRAPPED IN ELECTRICAL TAPE, INSTEAD OF HAVING A COMPLETE RUBBER TUBE COVER AROUND THE OUTSIDE AND BEING ONE CONTINUOUS UNCUT PIECE THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. SO I HAD SOMEONE AT A CAR SHOP TRY TO FIX IT BUT NOW THE LIGHT IS GOING ON AND OFF AGAIN. I'VE SEEN MANY CHEVROLET VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THE RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT OUT WHILE THE LEFT ONE CONTINUES TO WORK FINE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF REPORTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM BY MANY OTHER OWNERS ON THE INTERNET. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND A COSTLY SAFETY HAZARD. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE MADE.

BUT IT WHEN THROUGH THAT PROCESS LIKE 5-6 TIMES BACK TO BACK. WHEN RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I SEE MY CAR IS NOT THE ONLY CAR HAVING THIS PROBLEM. IT APPEARS TO BE A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE WITH THE 2013 CHEVY MALIBU. IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.
