EACH TIME I STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN MY VEHICLE STATR VIBRATING , MY RPM STARTS MOVING AND MY CAR DIES. I RESTART IT, BUT MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT NEVER COMES ON. THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM WITHOUT A CODE.

The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V764000 (Suspension) however, the dealer informed the contact that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated there were abnormal rattling sounds coming from underneath the vehicle while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.
CODE P2097 (POST CATALYST FUEL TRIM SYSTEM TOO RICH BANK 1) KEPT POPPING UP I WENT TO A AAA CERTIFIED SHOP AND THEY RAN TONS OF TESTS ON THE CAR AND THEY FOUND THAT THIS CODE IS COMMON ON CHEVY MALIBU'S, CHEVY CAME OUT WITH A GUIDE TO TRY AND FIX THE CODE BUT DOESN'T GUARANTEE IT FIXES THE PROBLEM I GOT CAR FULLY INSPECTED (FUEL PRESSURE, FUEL RATIO, MASS AIR RATIO ETC) AND GOT BOTH OXYGEN SENSORS REPLACED AND CRANKCASE BREATHER HOSE REPLACED ABOUT 5 MILES AFTER I LEAVE THE SHOP CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND IT'S THE SAME CODE. CHEVY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS COMMON PROBLEM SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS NEEDING TO BE RESET BY DEALER
WHILE DRIVING THE WHOLE CAR TURNED OFF. STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, ENGINE CUT OFF, AND LIGHT WENT OUT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW. WHILE I'M DRIVING THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF. IT HAS DONE THIS WHILE I HAVE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALSO IN THE CITY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. CAN NOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE.
MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU HAS 68,755 MILES I HAVE KEPT UP REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON IT. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS AN ISSUES WITH STALLING WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AFTER DRIVING IT OF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT AND I'VE SPENT SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TAKING IT TO OTHER REPAIR SHOPS. IT CAN BE A SAFE ISSUE IF I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSTATE AT A STOP TRYING TO TURN AND I NEED TO ACCELERATE. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY RECALLS FOR THIS MODEL. I HAVE HAVING THIS PROBLEM STARTING BACK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2020 UP TILL THIS DATE OF 01/23/2021.
IS BEEN A FEW TIMES WHEN I'M IN A LIGHT AND WHEN I'M ABOUT TO TAKE OFF THE CAR LIKE HOLDS UP AND IT DOESN'T WANTS TO MOVE FORWARD UNLESS I HIT THE GAS HARDER OR JUST PARK IT AND SHUT IT OFF AND IS BEEN SMOKING TROUGH THE A.C. IN LESS THEN 6 MONTHS I HAD TO REPAIR SERTAIN STUFF 3 TIMES. FIRST I TOOK IT TO REPLACE THE FAN ASSEMBLY HYBRID BATTERY AND A NEW HYBRID BATTERY THE OIL FILTER AND THE OIL GASKET CAUSE IT WAS LEAKING OIL AND UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. I TOOK IT OUT IN 3 WEEKS IT WAS BACK IN THE SHOP CAUSE I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAINS AND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AND PREFORM A SYSTEM SCAN WICH FOUND THAT THERE IS A MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND ALSO THE HIGH FUEL PRESSURE WAS MAKING SLOT OF NOISE. AND PUT A NEW HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE. I SPENCER A FEW DOLLARS ON THAT. I TOOK IT OUT IT WAS OK TILL IT STARTED GROWING SMOKE TROUGH THE A.C AGAIN IT KEEPED HOLDING BACK ON ME IN THE LIGHTS AND IT SHUTED OFF ON ME TWICE IN WERE I HAD TO HIT PARKING AND SHUT OFF AND BACK ON SO IT CAN WORK. AND FINALLY WOKE I'M DRIVING ON SOUTH 95 IN 60MPH THE CAR STARTED SMOKING TROUGH THE A.C THEN IT MADE THIS LOUD NOISE IN THE MOTOR SO WHEN I PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY I SEE THAT ALL MY MOTOR OIL HAD SPILLED IN THE FLOOR AND THE MOTOR STARTED TO SMOKE LIKE CRAZY AND THE CAR INDICATED ME TO SHUT OFF MOTOR. I HAD TO TOW MY CAR HOME AND PARK IT TO GET IT FIX AGAIN. BUT IS CRAZY CAUSE IN LESS THEN 6 MONTHS ALL THIS HAPPENED AND IS STILL PARKED TO B FIXED.
CAR WILL STALL OUT AND WON'T GO AT TIME WITHOUT PUMPING THE GAS. WE HAVE REPLACED VACUUM PUMP AND BOTH O2 SENSORS. POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN HITTING A SMALL BUMP, WON'T START UNLESS I MOVED THE DRIVERS SEAT UP AND BACK, IF I USE THE BLINKERS MY RADIO GOES OFF IF I USE MY HIGH BEAMS THE RADIO FREEZES. IT WILL DO WEEKS WITH NO ISSUES THEN ONE DAY IT WILL START ACTING UP AND DOES IT FOR DAYS OR WEEKS. CHEVY SAYS THERE IS NO RECAP FOR THAT MODEL BUT I'VE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THINGS SO WHY IS IT NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY GM
MY BRAKE BOOSTER HAS WENT OUT FOR THE 2ND TIME IN 3 MONTHS.THIS IS SO DANGEROUS I COST TOO MUCH TO HAVE FIXED. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL. THERE IS NO REASON THAT THIS SHOULD HAPPEN AGAIN IN EXACTLY 3 MONTHS OF GETTING MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP. SOME COULD REALLY GET HURT OR HURT SOMEONE ELSE BY THIS GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING THEN GM WILL HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM ON THERE HANDS. GOOD THING I WASS PARKED BOTH TIMES ABOUT TO LEAVE AND NOTICED THAT ALL I HEARD WAS AIR WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAKS. THEY REALLY NEED TO COME WITH A SOLUTION. ALSO WHEN I WAS TRYING TO TAKE MY KEY OUT THE IGNITION WOULD NOT COME OUT AND THE CAR WAS IN PARK.

MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU IS STALLING WHILE DRIVING ,AND HAS A ROUGH IDLE, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON, TOOK TO THE CAR LOT MULTIPLE TIMES, THEY CLEANED THROTTLE AND PUT NEW SPARK PLUGS ON IT, THOUGHT THAT TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT AS I DROVE THE CAR THE SAME DAY IT STALLED ON ME AGAIN AND THEIR IS LITTLE ACCELERATION POWER.THIS ALL TOOK PLACE WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN STREET.IT SEEMS ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH MALIBU'S ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, THIS IS VERY A NOTING TO BE PAYING FOR A VEHICLE WHICH ONE CAN BARELY DRIVE , NOT TO MENTION IT'S VERY DANGEROUS (KIDS ARE IN THE CAR) CAR JUST STALLS AND BARELY ACCELERATES, SOMEONE COULD RUN INTO THE BACK OF YOU! PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS PROBLEM!
CAR STALLS WHEN STOPPING AT STOP SIGNS.. WHEN TURNING LOSE POWER LIGHTS, RADIO, AND STEERING. HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES THIS YEAR..
AFTER ABOUT A MONTH WITH MY CAR MY BLUETOOTH SYSTEM WENT OUT AND WOULD NOT LET ME CONNECT, THEN AFTER SWITCHING TO THE ACTUALLY USB PORT TO PLAY MUSIC AND TALK IT STILL WILL NOT CONNECT.
MY CHEVY MALIBU STALLED OUT ON 3 OCCASIONS NOW. THIS OCCURS AFTER BEING AT A STOP AND APPLYING PRESSURE ON THE GAS TO PLACE THE CAR BACK IN MOTION. I WAS NEARLY STRUCK BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE ON 2 OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR STALLED OUT. WOULD HAVE HAD AMPLE TIME AT A GREEN LIGHT HAD THE VEHICLE NOT STALLED. POWER STEERING IS LOST WHEN THIS OCCURS. I HAVE TO POWER OFF AND REPOWER THE VEHICLE TO GET STARTED AGAIN, RESULTING IN SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND A SMELL OF BURNT RUBBER.
I'M HAVING ISSUES IN REGARDS TO THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. I ONLY HAVE 55 K MILES IN MY CAR AND TRANSMISSION SHOULDN'T BE GIVING OUT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITH THE BATTERY NOT CHARGING MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM IGNITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE GEAR-BOX WAS REPAIRED AND AN UNKNOWN FUSE WAS REPLACED. THREE DAYS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS REPAIRED FOR THE SAME ELECTRICAL FAILURE. DESPITE THE SECOND REPAIR, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE FUSE BOX. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
MY BREAK BOOSTER WENT OUT AGAIN FOR 3RD TIME WITH IN A YEAR AND HALF I HAVE TAKEN TO A PLACE TO GET IT FIXED THIS IS ON SAFE.I WAS DRIVING ALL 3 TIMES WHEN IT WENT OUT. I WAS STOPPING AT A LIGHT.
THE CONSOLE TRANSMISSION GEAR SELECTION INDICATOR DOES NOT ILLUMINATE THE SHIFT POSITION SELECTED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE GEAR SELECTION ILLUMINATION GOES OFF AND I NO LONGER HAVE GEAR SELECTION ACCESS NOR ACCELERATION CONTROL. I HAVE HAD TO DANGEROUSLY ROLL OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO A SAFER PLACE TO ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS THE ILLUMINATION RETURNS AND I HAVE CONTROL AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED RANDOMLY AND I'VE TRIED TO GET HELP FROM DEALERSHIP AND GM BUT EVERYONE THAT I'VE SPOKEN TO DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS RECALL. I WILL ATTACH A COPY OF THE RECALL FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING.
Instrument cluster goes out and is available for inspection. It first went out in the middle of driving 80 on the freeway with others in my vehicle. I have taken it to a Point S mechanic who has confirmed the issue and can be easily recreated just by turning the car on. Nobody has inspected other than a mechanic because I did not know that was even an option. No, there was absolutely no warning to indicate the issue, only the check engine light would work and that issue has been temporarily resolved. Due to research, I, along with many others, have come to the conclusion that it is a fault in manufacturing where one of the resisters in the cluster was not soldered correctly causing a failure in connection. I believe there should have been a recall on the equipment, especially seeing as how common this issue is and that the product isn't even made/sold anymore. It is upsetting to see the ratio of 2 investigations compared to over 700 complaints.
VEHICLE NEEDING GENERATOR CONTROL MODULE AND BATTERY COOLING FAN AND VARIABLE VALVE TIMING REPLACED
MY CAR CONTINUES TO LOSE POWER AND WITH IT COMES SO MANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES. BRAKE ASSIST WONT DISENGAGE, NO POWER BEYOND ENGINE IDLING, AND THE SERVICE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM CONTINUES TO POP UP EVEN THOUGH IT AND THE BATTERY IN THE TRUNK WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR A MONTH AND IT'S GIVEN ME NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.
BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM MERCHANTS AUTO IN OCT 2019 AND WITHIN A WEEK THE CAR STALLED TO START. I CALLED AROUND NOV 2019 TO SET UP AN APPT TO HAVE IT FIXED. THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT SO IT COULDN'T BE FIXED. I WENT BACK ON 2/15/20 AND 5/29/20 AND RECENTLY ON 6/29/20. THEY STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE OUR CALL STALLING AND THEN SHUTTING OFF WHEN COMING TO A STOP. WE WOULD HAVE TO GIVE IT GAS MOSTLY TO START IT UP.LAST TIME I TOOK IT THERE THEY WERE ABLE TO COME UP WITH $700 WORTH OF CHARGES THAT WERE OUT OF WARRANTY SO I HAD TO PASS BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE $700 AND PLUS THIS WAS STARTING WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE.I WONDERED WHY THEY COULDNT HAVE COME UP WITH THE SAME CONLUSION THE FIRST TIME THAT I BROUGHT IT IN OR THE 2ND TIME AND THE LADY SAID SHE DIDNT KNOW. I CALLED QUIRK CHEVROLET TO ASK ABOUT RECALL 13142 AND THE PERSON I SPOKE TO , INFORMED ME THAT SINCE MY VIN # DOESN'T FALL UNDER THAT RECALL THAT IT CANT BE REPLACED. THE RECALL DESCRIBES WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR VEHICLE AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I CANT HAVE IT REPLACED WITH THE RECALL THAT IS LISTED FOR MY CAR. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUES FOR 2013 CHEVY MALIBU AND MY CAR IS NOT ECO SO IT SHOULDN'T BE DOING THAT AT ALL. OUR VEHICLE STALLS AT STOP SIGNS AND STOP LIGHTS..WE HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK..RESTART THE CAR AND THEN DRIVE. OR WE HAVE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL TO NOT LET THE ENGINE FAIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000.

CAR SEAT CAUGHT ON FIRE UNDER ME RIGHT AFTER I TURNED ON THE IGNITION
DROVE TO APPOINTMENT WITH NO ISSUES OR INDICATIONS OF ANYTHING WRONG. FINISHED APPOINTMENT AND STARTED VEHICLE, THE CHECK STABILITRAK WARNING CAME ON. PULLED INTO LANE & VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY REDUCED POWER, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE RAPIDLY AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WARNING LIGHT FOR ENGINE OVERSPEED CAME ON. ENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL, WOULD NOT DISENGAGE WHEN BRAKING, OR BY STEERING WHEEL CONTROL WITHOUT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY INCREASE SPEED TO 50 MPH, MADE IT HOME VIA HILLY SECONDARY ROADS (MAX 50 MPH) AND STOPPED VEHICLE (BRAKE; STILL IN DRIVE), ENGINE TRIED TO GO TO THE ENGINE REST MODE PRIOR TO SHIFTING TO PARK. SHIFTED TO PARK, ENGINE TRIED TO RE-START AND WOULDN'T AUTOMATICALLY DISENGAGE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OVER. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND PULLED KEY. WOULD NOT RE-START, BUT WOULD CRANK. WHEN LETTING GO OF KEY IN THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN, THE ENGINE WOULD STILL TRY TO TURN OVER ON ITS OWN WITH A LOUD HIGH PITCHED WHINE. HAD TO QUICKLY REMOVE KEY ENTIRELY. I HAVE VIDEO CLIPS TOGETHER OF THIS INCIDENT, AVAILABLE BY EMAIL. HAD NEW BATTERY DELIVERED OVERNIGHT, DID NOT FIX ISSUE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO GARAGE AND WILL COST $12,100 TO FIX BY REPLACING LONG BLOCK. PLEASE HELP - THIS IS INCREDIBLY DISTRESSING. *TR

THE CONTACT MANIPULATED THE GEAR SHIFTER UNTIL THE GEAR SHIFTER ENGAGED INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEAR POSITION SELECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CHUCK NASH CHEVROLET BUICK GMC LOCATED AT 3209 N. INTERSTATE 35 FRONTAGE RD, SAN MARCOS, TX 78666, (512) 253-8815, WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V245000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while his wife was driving approximately 35 MPH, the instrument cluster display suddenly went dark, and the steering wheel became very difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Later while the contact was driving 75 MPH, the instrument cluster went dark, and the steering wheel became difficult to turn, and the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and stalled. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who replaced a battery cable and the failure had not reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.
MY DAUGHTERS MALIBU LITERALLY IGNITED AND CAUGHT FIRE WHILE SHE WAS IN IT OVER THE WEEKEND. SHE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT, NOTICED A FUNNY SMELL, TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND SMOKE WAS BILLOWING OUT OF THE ENGINE. SHE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND REALIZED THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. IT WENT FROM A SMALL FIRE TO EVERYTHING BUT THE TRUNK ENGULFED IN LESS THAN 3 MINUTES. THESE THINGS DON'T JUST HAPPEN RANDOMLY. I FEEL THERE WAS A MECHANICAL ISSUE OR SOMETHING NOT BUILT CORRECTLY. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED SHE WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF OR REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE BATTERY WAS FULLY DRAINED AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER A BATTERY BOOSTER WAS CONNECTED TO THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY CHEVROLET BUICK GMC CADILLAC LOCATED AT 1500 S SERVICE RD E, RUSTON, LA 71270, (318) 255-4162, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT INFORMED THAT GEAR SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
AT VARIOUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING-WHETHER PARKED, ACTIVELY DRIVING, AT A STOP SIGN, TURNING, BACKING UP- MY CARS POWER WILL FLICKER AND THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF CAUSING THE STEERING TO LOCK. THIS HAS DONE THIS TO ME QUITE A FEW TIMES, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT ON MORE THEN ONE OCCASION. SOMETIMES IT WILL DO IT AS OFTEN AS 14 TIMES IN A 25 MINUTE RIDE. NO LIGHTS SUCH AS THE CEL OR ANYTHING COME ON BEFOREHAND TO INDICATE THAT THERES A PROBLEM WHEN IT HAPPENS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO A MECHANIC TWICE TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND HE SEES NO OBVIOUS REASONS WHY IT WOULD DO THIS, AND THERE ARE NO CODES TO PULL TO EXPLAIN IT. ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE IT SHOULD BE MADE A RECALL AND LOOKED INTO! IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE LIKE THIS THAT CAN SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING LOCKS AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. THE 1ST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS JUNE 5, 2020 AND ALMOST EVERY DAY SINCE.

IN ADDITION, THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE TRUNK. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND REMAINED IN THE DEALER SINCE JUNE OF 2020. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
The 2013 Malibu continues to die when coming to a stop at a stop sign/light or at low rate of speed. This poses a major safety risk as when driving down the interstate and coming to a low speed the car will die and at times struggle to restart. This increases the chances of getting hit by moving vehicles. The car has been to a mechanic and confirmed that the car continues to die when coming to a stop or low speed but no engine codes show. This has been a known problem of the 2013 Malibu with no known fix.
WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AT A STOP LIGHT THE CAR SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WHERE MY STEERING WENT OUT, THE KEY WAS LOCKED IN THE IGNITION AND I HAD TO GET SOMEONE TO HELP PUSH THE CAR INTO A PARKING LOT FOR SAFETY. I WOKE UP AND WENT TO THE STORE AND WHEN I CAME OUT TO START THE CAR IT DIDN'T START. THE LIGHTS AND RADIO CAME ON AND EVERYTHING WORK EXCEPT WINDOWS WILL NOT GO UP OR DOWN. THE MESSAGE CENTER THEN SHOWED MESSAGE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" CAR WONT START NOW AND BATTERY AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS GOOD AND NEW.

OFTEN TIMES AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY WHOLE DASHBOARD WILL TURN OFF AND TURN BACK ON. MORE RECENTLY WHEN I STARTED MY CAR IN THE MORNING THE DASH LIGHTS WOULDN'T TURN ON AND ALL THE GAUGES WERE STUCK DOWN AS IF THE DASH NEVER TURNED ON.

I SEE GM HAS RECALLED THE ENGINES ON THE CHEVY MALIBU 2.0 I HAVE 104XXX MILES AND AND THE ENGINE HAS BEEN SLUGGISH SENSE LAST OIL CHANGE NOW THERE WAS METAL SHAVINGS ON INJECTORS AND I FEEL THEY HAVE RECALLED OTHERS WHY NOT MINE TOO? I HAD THE CRUISE SET AT 72 GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND IT JUST DIED.
