TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF WITH THE KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION, THE ENGINE INADVERTENTLY STARTED. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE RADIO ACTIVATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A POWER TRAIN FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED HERRIN-GEAR CHEVROLET (1685 HIGH ST, JACKSON, MS 39202, 601-376-9944) AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A CHECK UP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000.
WHILE DRIVING, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON RANDOMLY. WHEN STOPPING, THE CAR TURNS OFF. I TRY TO RESTART IT AND THE IGNITION FAILS. I NEED TURN THE KEY A FEW TIMES UNTIL THE CAR CAN FINALLY START. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON CITY STREET MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND A TOOL PART WAS ON DISPLAY
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I WENT TO DEFROST MY WINDSHIELD AND THE ELECTRICAL SWITCH TO TURN ON THE HEAT WOULD NOT TURN ON. THIS HAS ALSO OCCURRED WHEN IT IS REALLY HOT OUTSIDE AND THE A/C WILL NOT TURN ON. I HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES OCCUR MULTIPLE OF TIMES IN HOT AND NOW COLD WEATHER.
I WAS DRIVING ON MY WAS TO SAN JOSE ON ISABEL AVE ON HIGHWAY 84 AND MY CAR JUST SHOUT DOWN WIITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGN IT WAS THE SCARIEST TIME GOOD THING I DIDNT HAVE MY KIDS WITH ME. I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN ON MY CAR AGAIN AND THE OFFICER HAD TO PUSH ME TO A CLOSE BY SHOULDER BECUASE WHERE THE CAR STOP THERE WAS NO SHOULDER AND IT WAS A ONE WAY TRAFFIC SO I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND IT WAS IN A CURVE SO I COULD OF GET HIT ON THE BACK I HAD TO CALL AAA TO HELP ME TOW MY CAR NOW I CANT EVEN TURN IT ON
ON DECEMBER 10, 2017 AROUND 11AM I CAME OUT OF CHURCH, I OPENED MY CAR DOOR AND SMOKE CAME FLOWING OUT. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT AND FLOOR MATS WERE COVERED IN BLACK ASH AND MELTED AS WELL AS THE CONSOLE. THE INTERIOR WAS COVERED IN BLACK SOOT. I HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS FUNCTIONED PROPERLY AND THE CAR CRANKED FINE. I CALLED GM, THEY ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAY, SO I FILED A REPORT WITH THE GM REPRESENTATIVE ON MONDAY, SHE WAS TOTALLY COMBATIVE. I HEARD NOTHING FOR 4 TO 5 WEEKS SO I CALLED THE ASME NUMBER AND COMPLAINED VEHEMENTLY. FINALLY I RECEIVED AN EMAIL TO CONTACT THE DEALRSHIP AND TAKE THE CAR THERE. THE DEALER, STEVE RAYMAN, WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL, THEY ADVISED ME HOW TO PROCEED AND IN 2 DAYS I WAS ABLE TO RECEIVE A RENTAL FROM ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL. FOUR WEEKS LATER I RECEIVED AN OFFER OF $13,000.00 AND A STATE THAT WOULD ABSOLVE GM OF ANY LIABILITY. ICALLED TO SEE IF I COULD SIMPLY SUBSITUTE A CAR I FOUND FOR $11,000. 00 , SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR, THIS WOULD HAVE REDUCED GM'S LOSS; I WAS TOLD "NO WAY." I ASKED WHY?, THEY RESPONDED "I DON'T KNOW." THE VECHILE WAS PARKED IN THE CHURCH PARKING LOT, IT WAS SNOWING, AROUND 32 DEGREES. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE, THE CONTACT OPENED THE DOOR AND SMOKE BILLOWED OUT. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS PARTIALLY MELTED AND THE CARPET WAS BURNT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE NOT PRESENT AND NO REPORTS WERE FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO STEVE RAYMAN CHEVROLET IN MARIETTA, GEORGIA WHERE THE HEAD MECHANIC FROM HEADQUARTERS DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS NEVER PROVIDED WITH THE DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER OFFERED TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (BOBBY LAYMAN CHEVROLET, 3900 W BROAD ST, COLUMBUS, OH 43228) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRIPS IN THE DOORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: SR8-3884990056. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN SMOKE STARTED AND FIRE BROKE OUT BURNING VEHICLE TO GROUND.

HOWEVER, THE ENGINE REMAINED ON AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO A UTILITY POLE. DURING THE INCIDENT, THE CONTACT WAS DRAGGED BY THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED FACIAL INJURIES ALONG WITH ABRASIONS TO THE LEFT ARM. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE LATER EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING AND WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (BILL ESTES CHEVROLET, 4105 W. 96TH ST., INDIANAPOLIS, IN) AND REPAIRED, BUT THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
STABILIZER TRACKING AND ABS LIGHT JUST CAME ON MY CAR YESTERDAY FOR NO REASON, I DON'T SENT ANY DIFFERENT IN HOW ITS BREAKING. I HAVE ABOUT 58000 MILES ON IT, THIS ALL SHOW UP COMING HOME AFTER DRIVING 20 MILES.

DURING AN AUTO ACCIDENT THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *LD *TR THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THE AIRBAGS OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT SHARE THE AIRBAGS REPORT WITH THE CONSUMER. *JS
I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED 2015 MALIBU LTZ FROM A CHEVROLET DEALER IN JANUARY 2017 WITH BRAND NEW GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A TIRES INCLUDED. TODAY, AUG 16, 2017 (AND WITH JUST UNDER 10,000 DRIVEN ON THEM), I NOTICED A BULGE COMING FROM THE OUTER WALL ON ONE OF THEM. THE TIRE SPECS ARE: P235/50R18, 97W. THIS IS CONCERNING TO ME BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. PICTURES ATTACHED.
THE ABS SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STALL OUT AND NOT GO OVER 11 MILES PER HOUR. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR UNDER $1000 AND SIMILAR ISSUE WAS RECALLED ON THE 2014 MODEL.
UNKNOWN - EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR SNOWS, SOMEHOW WATER GETS IN MY CAR. THE WINDOWS ARE COMPLETELY SHUT, DOORS ARE CLOSED, AND TRUNK IS TOO. HOWEVER, THE AREA FOR MY SPARE TIRE FILLS UP WITH WATER. IT IS NOW CAUSING MY BACK SEAT AND SEAT BELTS TO GET SOAKED. THE TOP THAT COVERS MY SPARE TIRE HAS FALLEN THROUGH. MOLD AND MILDEW ARE DEVELOPING AND THE SMELL TAKES OVER MY CAR.

I HAVE ENJOYED MY MALIBU BUT I HAVE A ISSUE FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED IT. THE PLASTIC COVER OVER THE SEAT CONTROLS WAS TORN WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR THE COVER HAS GOTTEN WORSE AS TIME HAS GONE BY AND TO BE HONEST HAS BECOME A HAZARD I TORN A PAIR OF SLACKS ON THE EXTREMELY SHARP PLASTIC PIECE AND I AM VERY CAREFUL GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE PIECE. DRIVERS SIDE SEAT CONTROL COVER PIECE. THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE SEAT DESIGN THERE IS A METAL TUBE RUNNING FRONT TO BACK YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE PICTURES IT CRACKED THIS COVER AND WILL CRACK ANY NEW COVER THAT REPLACE THIS COVER. BLIND SIDE..NOT EASY TO LOCATE VEHICLES ON EITHER SIDE.AND IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE CHILD IN REAR WITH REAR VIEW CAMERA.
MY VECHICAL WAS IN MOTION DRIVING THRU AN ENTRANCE TO AN ARBY'S RESTAURANT . I HERD A LOUD NOISE N FELT LIKE MY VECHICAL WAS DRAGGING WITH A PULLING MOTION. WHEN I STEPPED OUT I WALKED AROUND TO THE FRONT N MY BUMPER WAS COMPLETELY PUSHED IN AND FOLDED INTO AN INWARDS POSITION. I PULLED WITH MY HAND FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BUMPER AND PULLED IT OUT ALMOST IN ITS ORIGINAL POSITION BESIDES SOME OF THE PLASTIC PEICES N FASCIA BEING CRACKED. WELL UPON FURTHER LOOKING AT IT WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS THE PLATE OR COVER AS U WILL THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE AND RADIATOR PORTION OF THE VECHICAL CAME DETACTCHED FROM THE MOST INWARD POSITION OF THE VECHICAL( THE POINT CLOSEST TO THE CENTER OF THE CAR) HIT THE GROUND N FOLDED UNDER NEATH MY CAR SMASHING IN THE LOWER PART OF MY BUMPER. ONCE I LOOKED UNDER THEIR THIS PIECE IS ACTUALLY CONNECTED TO THE BUMPER IN ONE PIECE WHEN IT SHOULD BE DETACHED. THIS VECHICAL IS A VERY BAD DESIGN AND IS EXTREMELY LOW TO THE GROUND AND WHAT MAKES THIS BAD IS THIS PIECE IS CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BUMPER WHICH WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY RIPPED OUT IN THE PROCESS. CURRENTLY I HAVE THIS END PIECE ZIPPED TIED TO MY FRAME AT THE POINT OF WHICH IT BECAME DETACHED. I APPROACHED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE N THEY LAUGHED AT ME LIKE I DID THIS WHEN CLEARLY IT WAS FROM THE COVER OR PLATE THAT SITS BELOW THE ENGINE. THIS PART IS A 79 DOLLAR PART BUT THEY WANT ME TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FASCIA N BUMPER WHICH THEY QUOTED AT AROUND 1500 DOLLAR. NOW IF MY BOTTOM FRONT HITS ANY DRIVEWAY OR ENTRANCE WAY CAUSE OF THE TWO LOW OF A DESIGN THIS PART CAN COME DETACHED FROM THE FRAME AND RIP MY BUMPER RIGHT OFF CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT OR SAFTEY SITUATION. BOLTS SECURING REAR SUSPENSION MAY BE LOOSE ONE OR MORE BOLTS SECURING THE REAR SUSPENSION COMPONENTS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED PROPERLY DURING VEHICLE ASSEMBLY. LOOSE SUSPENSION BOLTS CAN RESULT IN SUDDEN CHANGES IN THE VEHICLE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS.

THE CAR WAS STATIONARIED, IT WAS ABOUT 28 DEGREES OUTSIDE. MY CAR WAS ON AND OFF IN BETWEEN AN 8 HOUR PERIOD. AS I AM A LOCAL DRIVER FOR A COMPANY OUT OF AUSTIN, TX. JANUARY 7TH AT ABOUT 12 MIDNIGHT I STARTED FEELING NAUSEOUS, THEN IT QUICKLY WENT TO CRAMPS THINKING I WAS HUNGRY I TRIED TO EAT. MEANWHILE I VAGUELY SMELLED SOMETHING BUT COULDN'T MAKE OUT THE SMELL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. AT ABOUT 2AM I WAS REALLY BAD OFF WITH NOW A TERRIBLE HEADACHE THAT WAS BEYOND A NORMAL HEADACHE. I KEPT WORKING TILL 3 AM JAN 8TH. AS I CLOCKED OUT I WAS FEELING DISTANT AND DIZZY. I RETURNED TO THE CAR AND DROVE HOME WITH A FOGGY FEELING. I BARELY MADE IT UP OUR 3 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS AND STOPPED HALFWAY. AS I FELT I WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH OXYGEN. I CAME INSIDE OUR HOME AT 3:15. AND AT THAT TIME EXPLAINED TO MY HUSBAND MY SYMPTOMS I STARTED BREATHING IN AND OUT AS MUCH POSSIBLE ENOUGH AIR COULDN'T COME QUICK ENOUGH. MY BODY WAS TIRED I TOOK MEDS FOR MY HEAD AND DIZZUDLY FELL ASLEEP. MY HUSBAND INFORMED ME THAT HE CHECKED THE CAR AND UNDER THE HOOD HE COULD SMELL AN ODOR AND UPON CHECKING HE COULD HEAR A WHIZZING FROM THE BATTERY." THE BATTERY HAD BEEN RELEASING FUMES BACK INTO THE CAR HE SAID". WHICH WAS CAUSING ME TO INHALE CARBON MONOXIDE POISON. ALL THE SYMPTOMS I WAS FEELING CHECKED OUT AS I RESTED SUNDAY JANUARY 8TH. HE CHECKED MY OXYGEN LEVELS AS I WAS OK NOW! STATING THE OBVIOUS IT COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY I WAS VERY SHAKEN AND BARELY MENTALLY THERE BUT DIDN'T REALIZE IT. AS THIS WAS MORE THAN TRAUMATIZING FOR ME AND OUR FAMILY WE ARE NOW REACHING OUT TO INFORM AND WAIT TO SEE WHAT ARE NEXT STEPS ARE!
AT 8:00 P.M. I STARTED MY CAR TO WARM UP. IT WAS 27 DEGREES OUT AND WHEN I TURNED MY HEAT ON, NO AIR WOULD BLOW OUT. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. AFTER I LET IT WARM UP FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES, I NOTICED THE AIR WOULD STILL NOT BLOW OUT. I SHUT MY CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE AIR STILL WOULD NOT BLOW OUT. THE LIGHT ON THE KNOB INDICATING IT WAS ON, WAS NOT LIT UP. ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS WERE WORKING FINE IN MY VEHICLE. ONCE I STARTED DRIVING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE AIR KICKED ON AND STARTED BLOWING OUT. AND FUNCTIONED FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE. MY CAR HAS 20K MILES ON IT AND WAS PURCHASED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. *TR

MY IGNITION KEYS (BOTH) SOMETIMES STICK IN THE 'START' POSITION WHEN STARTING. SOME DAYS THEY STICK SEVERAL TIMES AND SOME DAYS THEY DON'T. IT DEPENDS ON HEAT AND HUMIDITY. GENTLE PRESSURE EASILY RETURNS THE KEY TO THE 'RUN' POSITION. WE ALWAYS NOTICE THIS WHEN IT HAPPENS AND WE TURN THE KEY TO THE 'RUN' POSITION. BUT IF IT IS UNNOTICED IT COULD RELEASE WHEN HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND GO PAST 'RUN' AND INTO THE 'ACCESSORY' POSITION, SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW IN APRIL, 2015. THE DEALER CLEANED THE KEY AND LUBED THE IGNITION SWITCH BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH BECAUSE THE KEY DID NOT STICK WHILE THEY HAD THE CAR. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS OFTEN (ABOUT 10% OF THE TIME) WHEN THE WEATHER IS HOT AND/OR HUMID. IT OCCURS RARELY WHEN THE WEATHER ID COOL/DRY.

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ON MARCH 2015 OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR OF A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. ON JUNE 18, 2016 MY CAR CAUGHT A FIRE WHILE IT WAS PARKED AND I WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. I HAD BEEN SITTING IN THE CAR WITH THE AIR BLOWING FROM THE DEFROSTER FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. I DROVE TO THE STORE AND CAME BACK HOME. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND STOOD ON THE PORCH TALKING TO MY FAMILY. WITHIN IN 10 MINUTES OF ME EXITING MY CAR, IT WAS ON FIRE. I RAN TO THE CAR AND COULD SEE THAT THE FIRE WAS COMING FROM RIGHT ABOUT WHERE THE WINDSHIELD ENDS AND WHERE THE HOOD OF THE CAR BEGINS, RIGHT WHERE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO PUT THE FIRE OUT. THEY USED THE JAWS OF LIFE TO PLY THE HOOD OPEN AND CUT THE MAIN WIRE TO THE CAR. I THEN CONTACTED THE GM MANUFACTURING COMPANY CHEVROLET AND STARTED A CLAIM WITH THEM TO DO AN INVESTIGATION ON MY VEHICLE AS TO WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY TO THIS BRAND NEW CAR. ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE FACT THEIR WAS NO ONE IN THE CAR AT THE TIME IT CAUGHT FIRE, THANK GOD AND AS TO NO ONE COULD OF STARTED THE FIRE BECAUSE I WAS STANDING OUTSIDE THE ENTIRE TIME. THE ALLEGED INVESTIGATION TOOK ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF TO COMPLETE. I RECEIVED A CALL A WEEK PRIOR TO GM CHEVROLET MANUFACTURING MAKING A DECISION FROM ONE OF THEIR REPRESENTATIVES ASKING ME HAVE I EVER GOTTEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR REPLACED BEFORE. I STATED TO HER NO I HAVEN'T AND REMINDED HER THAT THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW OFF THEIR SHOWROOM FLOOR AND THAT I HADN'T HAD ANYTHING REPLACED OR ALTERED ON THAT CAR. ON JULY 29TH I WAS CALLED BY A GM CHEVROLET REPRESENTATIVE AGAIN TELLING ME MY CLAIM WAS BEING DENIED BECAUSE OF A WINDSHIELD WIPER ISSUE. I STATED TO HER THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT. SHE THEN CHANGES THE REASON AND STATES THAT GM CHEVROLET REALLY CANT DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY WERE DENYING MY CLAIM. THEIR HAD BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON GM CARS
FIRST COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE BUTTON ON THE FACE OF THE RADIO SCREEN IS MELTING AND WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE BLACK COLOR COMES OF INTO YOUR HAND. SECOND COMPLAINT IS THE SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE WHOLE SEAT SWITCH COMPARTMENT CAME OFF OF THE SEAT HINGES.
THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS INJURING OPERATOR AFTER IT WAS PLACED IN PARK. OPERATOR MOVED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LEVER FROM DRIVE INTO PARK. THE DOORS UNLOCKED AUTOMATICALLY. KEYS WERE IN THE IGNITION. VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. OPERATOR EXITED THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN THE SLIGHT >3% DRIVEWAY. GMC HAS INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DONE A DOWNLOAD OF THE ECM. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT EITHER DOES NOT FULLY ENGAGE IN PARK BUT RELEASES THE DOOR LOCKS OR IT SPONTANEOUSLY COMES OUT OF PARK OR SOME OTHER FAILURE MECHANISM.
THE DIVERS SEAT BELT ADJUSTER RATTLES WHILE DRIVING. ONE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND THE PLASTIC PORTION OF THE ADJUSTER SHOWED SIGNIFICANT WEAR. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS PART COULD FAIL IN A COLLISION.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 02/09/16, 1 1/2 HOURS AFTER DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT, I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAIN ROAD AT APPROPRIATELY 57 MPH AND MY MOON ROOF GLASS EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO CARS CLOSE TO THE FRONT OF ME. THE GLASS APPEARS TO BE BOWING OUT OF THE VEHICLE, NOT INTO THE VEHICLE, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT IF A ROCK HAD HIT IT. SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURE. THERE WAS NO SOUND OF ANYTHING HITTING THE ROOF, IT SIMPLY SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB EXPLODING IN MY VEHICLE AND GLASS WENT EVERYWHERE. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT AND THE GLASS HIT HER FACE. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO THAT IT WAS LIKELY A ROCK. NOW I HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE TO FIX THE GLASS, MY ROOF TOP AND TRUNK LID AS THE GLASS SCRATCHED AND ETCHED THE PAINT. SOUNDS LIKE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO QUITE A FEW PEOPLE AFTER SEARCHING SIMILAR INSTANCES WITH THIS VEHICLE. MIGHT BE SOMETHING CHEVY SHOULD LOOK INTO. THANKFULLY MY DAUGHTER AND MYSELF SUSTAINED NO INJURIES, ESPECIALLY WITH THE GLASS HITTING HER FACE. IT LEFT A SMALL RED MARK BUT DID NOT CUT HER.

NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON BUT MAY HAVE BEEN STUCK IN SOME RE-SET PROCESS. NOISE SEEMED TO BE FROM DEFROST AND HEAT CONTROL MODES. DEALER REPLACED INTERIOR FAN ACTUATOR AND SYSTEM NOW FUNCTIONS AS INTENDED. I ALSO DESCRIBED THIS TO THE DEALER AS SOUNDING LIKE A FLUTTERING SOUND FROM THE FAN SPEED CONTROL. DID NOT OCCUR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, JUST DRIVER SIDE. HAS ONLY 2300 MILES THUS FAR.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE PREVIOUS REPAIRS WERE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

BOUGHT 2013 MALIBU MARCH 2013 NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT UNTIL AT ABOUT 34,000 MILES. ON MY WAY TO WORK STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM LIGHT AND (ABS) BREAK LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER MY SHIFT AT WORK, I STARTED THE LIGHT WAS NOT ON. I THOUGHT JUST AN ERROR, MAY HAVE RESET IT'S SELF. AT ABOUT 46,000 MILES STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, (ABS) BREAK LIGHTS ARE BACK ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. I AM CURRENTLY MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT.
AFTER FOUR MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP MY ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING. I TOOK IT IN, THEY SAID IT WAS A BALANCER SHAFT ASSEMBLY WITH TIMING CHAIN AND SPROCKET. THE SOUND IS STILL THERE BUT THE DEALERSHIP STARTED THE WORK IS DONE AND REFUSES TO TOUCH IT. THE NOISE IS EXTREMELY ANNOYING BUT DOES NOT AFFECT RUNNING. I AM OF COURSE WORRIED THE ENGINE MAY DIE, BUT WITH THE REFUSAL TO DO ANYTHING I DON'T WANT TO VOID THE REST OF THE WARRANTY.
SERVICE AIR BAG AND LIGHT CAME ON TOOK IT TO A GM DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT WITH THE MILES IT HAD 44,000 IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARANITY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND REPAIRED AND I TOLD THEM THIS IS NOT RITE AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS I DID FIND OUT THAT THEY HAVE BEEN A LOT OF THE SENSORS UNDER THE HOOD BEING REPLACED BECAUSE WATER WAS GETTING IN THEM IF SO I BELIVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FROM GM AND IT SHOULD BE TAKEING CARE OF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO THEY WANT TO CHARGE FOR SOMETHING THEY KNOW THAT IS DEFECTIVE IS SO WRONG

THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUTED TO HOLD OFF ON PUTTING A NEW ONE IN UNTIL MY WARRANTY WENT OUT BUT THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THE CAR CURRENTLY GOES UP TO 7-8 RMP AND STAYS THERE FOR A GOOD 3 MINS BEFORE SHIFTING AND AT TIMES DOES NOT WHAT TO ACCELERATE WHICH HAS PUT ME IN SOME DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.
ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2015 I WAS DRIVING WAS DRIVING NORTH (23 MPH) AND WAS T-BONED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHO TOOK A 2 WAY STOP SIGN. I DID NOT HAVE A STOP SIGN. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT AS WAS MY DAUGHTER WHOM WAS SITTING MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR THAT THAT HIT ME ALL THEIR AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. I WAS THE DRIVER AND MY DAUGHTER WAS A PASSENGER IN THE BACK . I BROKE MY NECK AND HAD DISPLACED FLUID IN MY KNEE. SHE HAD MINOR BRUISING IN HER CAR SEAT. I TRIED FILING AGAINST GM AND NOTHING WAS DONE. THEY CAME BACK CLAIMING THAT THE SYSTEM HAD NOT FAILED. I HAD NO FURTHER WAY OF PROVING OTHER WISE. I FEEL THAT MY CAR FALLS INTO A RECALL BUT THAT IT HAS NOT YET BEEN DISCOVERED OR ESTABLISHED. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED? NOT THE FRONT DRIVERS OR THE CURTAINS?

ALSO I WAS 200 MILES FROM HOME. WENT TO POPLAR BLUFF MO CHEVY DEALER AND THEY SAID ITS COMMON WITH THE CARS NOW THE BODY FLEX AND THE GLASS IS SO TIGHT THEY EXPLODE. I WAS ADVISED TO CALL MY DEALER SO I DID THEY SAID FIRST THING DO YOU HAVE FULL COVERAGE? I WAS MAD AS HELL. THIS IS THE GLASS OR DEFAULT IN CAR. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM...
