TAMARA RECALL THE TRUNK RELEASE STOP WORKING AND WAS BLOWING FUSES.
REAR SEAT BELTS WILL NOT RETRACT. FRONT DRIVER SEATBELT ON OCCASION WILL NO BUCKLE
AIRBAG LIGHT IS KEEP COMING ON. I HAVE POWER SEATS AND PAYED TO GET THE PANEL FIXED AND THE PANEL IS HANGING AGAIN.
THE PLASTIC TRIM ON DRIVERS SEAT WHICH HAS THE CONTROLS ON IT TO OPERATE AND HOLD THE SEAT UP ON THE SIDE CRACKED AND CONTROLS WERE NOT ACCESSIBLE AND PART WAS NO LONGER HOLDING UP THE SEAT. PURCHASED CAR MARCH 28,2015. ON OCTOBER 26,2017 I PAID FOR THE PART AND LABOR SINCE I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IT'S NOW APRIL 9TH, 2019 AND THE PART IS PULLING AWAY FROM THE SEAT AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY FOR THE LAST REPAIR EXPIRED ON OCTOBER 26, 2018. MY OPTION WAS TO PAY FOR THE PART AND REPAIR AGAIN. THE PLASTIC TRIM SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DEFECTIVE SINCE IT HOLDS THE SEAT UP AND THE BUTTONS THAT ACCESS THE SEAT CONTROLS ARE ON IT. THE PART AND LABOR CHARGES SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER FOR THIS DEFECTIVE PART.
LIGHT WARNING COMES ON STATING SAFETY AIRBAGS DEFECTED. WE NEED THIS FIXED UNDER RECALL AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS.
THE DRIVERS SEAT MOVES UNEXPECTEDLY FRONT AND BACK WITHOUT MANUAL CONTACT THEREFOR THIS CAN CAUSE MYSELF AN ACCIDENT BY MOVING THE BACK SUPPORT TO THE FRONT AND BACK THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR TURNED OFF AND WHILE DRIVING
TAKATA RECALL A LIGHT CAME ON THAT READ 'HAVE YOUR AIRBAG CHECKED.' I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, RUSSELL BARNETT, WINCHESTER,TN. THEY CAME OUT WITH A PRICE FOR REPLACEMENT OF $750.00. I ASKED IF THIS WAS COVERED BY CHEVROLET. THEY ANSWERED NO. I THEN REMINDED THEM THAT I OF $10HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THEY THEN SAID LET ME CHECK IT OUT. IN A FEW MINUTES, THEY CAME BACK WITH A SECOND FIGURE OF $150.00 WHICH INCLUDED THE $50.00 DEDUCTIBLE. MY QUESTION IS DO I PAY?
CAR WAS PARKED IN A RESIDENTIAL PARKING LOT. A WATER LEAK BEGAN. WATER WAS ON THE FLOOR OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND ON THE FLOOR ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE BEHIND THE DRIVER. I TOOK THE CAR TO AN AUTO MECHANIC AND I WERE TOLD THE LEAK WAS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT AND THE WATER HAD BEEN SLOWLY LEAKING INTO THE CAR SINCE I FIRST HAD IT. THE WATER LEAKS IN BEHIND THE DASHBOARD AND THEN ACCUMULATES BETWEEN THE BODY FRAME AND THE CARPETING. HE SAID THE DEFECT WAS A MISSING SEAL IN THE CAR BODY FRAME. I WAS TOLD THE DEFECT CAN'T BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE FRAME IS WELDED TOGETHER AND THE AREA TO PUT THE SEAL IN IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCESS. HE PUT ANOTHER TOP COAT SEAM IN THE COWL AREA, BUT STATED DUE TO THE FAULTY BODY SEAM THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE PERMANENT WATER TIGHT REPAIR. THE CAR WAS DRIED OUT FOR A WEEK IN THE AUTO SHOP. THEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED AND THE NEXT MORNING THE FLOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD A WATER LEAK AGAIN. THE AUTO MECHANIC SAID THAT I SHOULD NOT KEEP THIS CAR.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TURNED OUT IT WAS SOLENOID VENT VALVE, A $36 PART THAT COST ME A TOTAL OF $600 USD TO REPLACE AFTER DIAGNOSTIC FEES AND SHOP FEES. THEY HAD TO DROP THE GAS TANK TO ACCESS IT. THIS IS A PREMATURE FAILURE FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH ONLY 48,000 KM. IF THIS IS A REGULAR MAINTENANCE ITEM THAT REQUIRES FREQUENT REPLACEMENT, GM SHOULD HAVE PUT IT IN A MORE ACCESSIBLE LOCATION SO IT DOESN'T COST $600 TO REPLACE A $36 PART!
MY AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT WAS ON- I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC RAN ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD BY THE GLENDORA CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP THAT MY VEHICLE WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND I NEEDED TO HAVE MY AIRBAG REPLACED FOR $1,000. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND MY AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED. THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ODD SERVICE NEEDED ON A NEWER VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD BE CATEGORIZED AS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUE VERSUS A MAINTENANCE NEEDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF WOULD NOT PROPERLY CLOSE AND REMAINED OPENED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER (HOWARD GMC CHEVROLET, 364 W. GRAND AVENUE, ELMHURST, IL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
MY DEFROSTER STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING, WHEN I TURN ON FRONT WINDOW DEFROST IT BLOWS OUT OF THE FRONT VENTS AND NO AIR COMES OUT OF MY DEFROST. IT'S A HEADACHE AND I FEEL A HAZARD TO TRY TO DRIVE WITHOUT THIS, I USUALLY HAVE TO ROLL DOWN MY SIDE WINDOWS TO GET ANYWHERE WITH VISIBILITY. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I AM PARKED, DRIVING, ETC. IT JUST DOES NOT WORK AT ALL EVER AND IT'S SCARY TO DRIVE WITH THIS ISSUE. MY VEHICLE HAS 77,000 MILES ON IT SO I FEEL THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE OCCURING.
TAKATA RECALL THE TRANSMISSION IN THE 2015 CHEVY MALIBU JERKS AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT HIGH SPEEDS IT HOLDS THE GEAR WHEN SLOWING DOWN
WITH 2015 MALIBU STATIONARY, OVERNIGHT EXPERIENCED LOSS OF BATTERY CHARGE AND WOLD NOT START. UPON RECHARGE, IT WILL NOW START. HOWEVER, THE HVAC CONTROL IS NOW INOPERATIVE. THE HVAC SYSTEM STILL RUNS WITH THE LAST SETTINGS IT HAD. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO RECALL 13V567000 (CHEVROLET 13380) THAT APPLIED TO 2014 MODEL CHEVROLETS. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE ONE CAN NO LONGER SET THE WINDSHIELD TO DEFROST FOR WINTER DRIVING. FURTHERMORE, THIS BELONGS TO A CHAIN OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES THE CAR HAS HAD - LOSS OF BATTERY CHARGE ON 4 OCCASIONS, ENGINE STOPPAGE AFTER HARD BRAKING ON TWO OCCASIONS WITH WARNING MESSAGE TO CHECK ABS SYSTEM, INTERMITTENT LOSS OF CENTER CONSOLE DISPLAY PANEL. OBVIOUSLY, IF THE ENGINE STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AFTER HARD BRAKING, THIS IS ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE. DEALER HAS REPLACED BOTH REAR BATTERY AND FORWARD BATTERY, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS HAS CLEARLY NOT BEEN DONE.

THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON SEVERAL TIMES. MUST TURN ENGINE OFF AND RESTART TO RESET. USUALLY THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHEN BACKING UP. SOME TIMES WHEN DRIVING.
Air bag sensor has been malfunctioning, misreading that there is a passenger in my car when there is not anybody present and the seat is clear. Check airbag light on dash is lit. The the screen display shows a blank green screen when put in reverse and has to be put in park to correct green screen. The auto shut off for the engine when the brake pedal is engaged turns the car completely off; including head lights, interior lights, and all capacities of the vehicle.
PASSENGER SEAT BELT WON'T UNBUCKLE, DASH SAYS SERVICE STABILITRAK, ENGINE POWER REDUCED, AND SPEED LIMITED TO 25 MPH
SEVERAL ISSUES, THE HEAT CONTROL KNOB HAD A SHORT SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER BUYING NEW IN 2018. RECENTLY 2018, THE STEERING COLUMN HAS BEEN MAKING A POPPING SOUND EVERYTIME I TURN. TAKEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES AND STILL MAKES NOISE. AFTER TAKING IT ON A VACATION, THE AUTO STOP BATTERY DID NOT WORK WHEN I CAME OFF THE EXPRESS WAY. NOW, THE CAR IS FILLING WITH WATER EVERYTIME IT RAINS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. ONLY 4 YEARS OLD WITH 36000 MILES AND HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. NOT HAPPY
NO PROBLEMS PRIOR TO A SIMPLE SPARK PLUG CHANGE(AC DELCO IRIDIUM/OEM). FEW DAYS LATER, CAR STARTED HESITATING, AND LOSING ACCELERATION, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT & SERVICE STABILITY DISPLAY ON SCREEN. CHECKED WITH OBDII. GAVE CODE OF MISSING SPARK IN #3. SO I CHANGED SPARK PLUG, THINKING FAULTY PLUG. AFTER DRIVING A BIT, CODE AND SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. TOOK TO DEALER $170 LATER, BAD COIL...! 86K MILES AND BAD COIL, AFTER CHANGING PLUGS...HUM! OK SO IF BAD COIL WHY IS IT GIVING ME A SERVICE STABILITRACK DISPLAY? AND NOT COMING UP ON OBDII DIAGNOSIS? I'M A CERTIFIED TRANSIT DESIEL MECHANIC OF 15YRS, AND THIS PUZZLES ME. I'VE ORDERED COIL, CHANGING TMRW. LETS SEE WHAT OUTCOME WILL BE AFTER CHANING COIL!
ERROR MESSAGE CAME ON ABOUT POWER STEERING, AT THAT POINT STEERING MALFUNCTIONED. THE RESULT MY DAUGHTERS CAR STRUCK GUARD RAIL ON BRIDGE CAUSING EXCESSIVE DAMAGE TO FRONT END. THIS OCCURRED AS VEHICLE WAS GOING THROUGH CURVE ONTO BRIDGE AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH. LOCATION WAS ON LA HWY 163 SOUTH OF DOYLINE, LA AT LAKE BISTINEAU
APRIL 1ST 2019 THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON ON MY DASHBOARD I WENT INTO A AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR PLACE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE AIR MODULE TO THE AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS DEFECTED.
THE BACK OF THE DRIVER SEAT MOVES ON IT'S OWN. I DIDN'T TOUCH THE BUTTON AND IT JUST STARTED MOVING FORWARD. FAULTY WIRING OVER MY SEAT.THE CAR WASN'T STARTED AND DIDN'T HAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION.
THE TRUNK RELEASE STOPPED WORKING ON FOB AND THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON ON THE BACK OF THE CAR ON TRUNK.
CAR WOULD NOT BRAKE CAUSING A COLLISION BEFORE THAT AUTO STOP AND PROBLEMS WITH BOTH BATTERIES
A/C CONTROL DOES NOT TURN ON. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. IN THE PAST I HAD TWO INCIDENTS WHERE I WAS NOT ABLE TO DEFROST MY WINDSHIELD.
DEFECTIVE AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED
VEHICLE FIRE NEAR THE BATTERY/BOX. NO BODY DAMAGE, DAMAGE LIMITED TO THE FUSEBOX AND HARNESS NEAR THE BATTERY. WIRES AND PART OF THE BATTERY/BOX BURNED.
I WAS DRIVING ON A MAIN STREET, COMING UP TO A FULL STOP WITH CARS IN FRONT & BEHIND ME. I PROCEEDED TO SLOWLY ACELERATE WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED TO GREEN. AT THAT POINT, THE CAR BEGAN TO MOVE BACKWARDS WHILE IN DRIVE. I QUICKLY PRESSED ON MY BRAKES, CAR STOPPED. I STTEMPTED THIS 2 MORE TIMES, SAME OUTCOME. AT THAT POINT, I PLACED THE CARR IN PARK, TURNED CAR OFF & BACKON AGAIN, CAR BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD.
THE RADIO AUDIO SYSTEM GIVES A RANDOM STATIC INTERFERENCE, NOT EVERY DRIVE BUT 1/10 TIMES. NO MUSIC OR AUDIO CAN BE HEARD UNTIL THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUT OFF FOR COUPLE OF MINUTES THEN THE SYSTEM WORKS FINE.
I HAVE A 2015 CHEVY MALIBU WHILE DRIVING ON THE TURNPIKE AC CAME ON WITHOUT BEING TURNED ON LIGHTS DIMMED WHEN CAR STARTED FLASHING ME I HIT MY BRIGHT LIGHTS AND MY ABS SLAMMED MY CAR TO AN IMMEDIATE STOP ALSO CAUSING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO COME ON AND THE POWER STEERING TO GO OUT CAR SHUT OFF TOOK A WHILE TO COME BACK ON CAR WAS NOT DEAD BUT ONLY THINGS THAT WERE OFF WERE WORKING THINGS THAT WERE ON OR NOT CAR KEEPS DYING WHEN YOU CRANK IT UP AND THINGS THAT ARE TURNED OFF COME ON ONCE THE CAR CRANKS UP DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND CAR TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND DID THE SAME THING ON THE TURNPIKE IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING.
I WAS BACKING UP AND CHANGED MY GEARS INTO DRIVE, TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE, CAR JUST JERKED AND TOOK OFF AND I ENDED UP HITTING SOMEBODY'S VAN. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE SAME DEALER AGAIN REPAIRED THE TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
TAMARA RECALL THIS VEHICLE HAS THE AUTO STOP START SYSTEM WHERE THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSED TO ENGAGE AT A LIGHT, AND IT DOES NOT WORK. NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND WHY IT WON'T ENGAGE AND THE DEALER WILL NOT HELP ME. THE VEHICLE WORKS AND DRIVES FINE BUT THIS SYSTEM IS FLAWED AND ALL OVER THE CHEVY FORUMS PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM.
PURCHASED A NEW 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU 1LT WITH 8 MILES FROM IMPERIAL CHEVROLET IN MENDON MA. AT 44 MILES THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO IMPERIAL CHEVY. SERVICE FOR A MASSACHUSETTS STATE INSPECTION STICKER. THE BRAND NEW 2015 CHEVY. MALIBU FAILED THE EMISSIONS PORTION OF THE STATE INSPECTION TEST AND I WAS INFORMED BY THE IMPERIAL SERVICE DEPT. THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED THE STATE INSPECTION AND HE (SERVICE DEPT.) DID NOT KNOW WHY THE VEHICLE FAILED BUT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AROUND FOR APPROX. 100 MILES AND AFTER THE 100 MILES TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK AND IMPERIAL WOULD RE-TEST THE VEHICLE. AFTER DRIVING AROUND FOR APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE VEHICLE PASSED THE STATE INSPECTION AFTER THE SECOND TEST. AT APPROX. 3,000- 30000 MILES (AT TIMES) THE VEHICLE WOULD INDICATE (VIA INDICATION PANEL) THAT THE GAS CAP OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOOSE. THE 'TIGHTEN GAS CAP' INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. DURING SEVERAL OIL CHANGES TO THE VEHICLE, I INFORMED THE SERVICE DEPT. OF THE 'TIGHTEN GAS CAP' INDICATION BUT DUE TO THE LIGHT NOT BEING ON DURING THE OIL CHARGES THE SERVICE DEPT. COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. AT APPROX. 33,000 MILES THE "TIGHTEN GAS CAP" INDICATOR STAYED ON AND AFTER A WHILE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO IMPERIAL CHEVY. SERVICE AND THEY FOUND THE "VENT SOLENOID STICKING" "CODE 0455" AND REPLACED THE VENT SOLENOID. AT APPROX. 40,000 MILES THE SAME ISSUE STARTED AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WOULD INDICATE THAT THE GAS CAP WAS LOOSE, THE MESSAGE WOULD COME ON AND THEN GO OFF. AT 45,000 MILES ONCE AGAIN, THE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ONCE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO CHEVY FOR SERVICE AND ONCE AGAIN THE VENT SOLENOID WAS FOUND TO BE STICKING AND THE SAME PART (VENT SOLENOID) WAS REPLACED. SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING HER VEHICLE, SERVICE AIR BAG MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED INTERMITTENTLY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HENDRICK CHEVROLET BUICK GMC SOUTHPOINT (127 KENTINGTON DR, DURHAM, NC 27713) WHO DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE PASSENGER PRESENT MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS THEN NOTIFIED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE I STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF DUE TO THE AUTO START/STOP WHEN IDLING. WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE, THE CAR DID NOT TURN BACK ON. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO START THE CAR AGAIN NUMEROUS TIMES IT WOULD NOT. ALL ELECTRICAL STAYED ON AT THIS POINT. CAR WAS TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALER IN FENTON, MI AND THEY REPLACED BATTERY AND BATTERY CURRENT SENSOR. LATER I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THE RADIO AND SCREEN STAYED ON EVEN AFTER CLOSING AND OPENING THE DOOR. THEN MY CAR WAS IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT TODAY AND IT AUTO TURNED OFF AS WHEN I LET OFF BRAKE IT DID NOT TURN BACK ON. ALL ELECTRICAL STAYED ON. THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR BACK UP BUT THERE'S NO TELLING WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE.
THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN ECO-BOOST MODE, THE AUTO STOP FUNCTION FAILED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC CHEVY SUGAR LAND (13115 SOUTHWEST FWY, SUGAR LAND, TX 77478, (281) 969-4132) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNSURE OF THE ORIGIN OF THE FAILURE. MY CAR HAS BEGUN DYING IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS FOR NO PARTICULAR REASON ON TOP OF THE FUEL ECONOMY NOT WORKING CORRECTLY AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF FILLING IT UP. IT WILL SAY 195 MILES THEN JUMP TO 207 ON THE FUEL RANGE.
STARTED CAR AND REDUCED POWER ENGINE WARNING CAME ON FOR THE SECOND TIME. I HAD IT FIXED ONCE ALREADY AND IT JUST CAME ON. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH CHEVY. I WAS DRIVING IT THE FIRST TIME MY LIGHT CAME ON. THE SECOND TIME I JUST STARTED MY CAR. I WAS ON A CITY STREET FIRST TIME AND CITY STREET SECOND TIME. BOTH TIMES MY CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PASSED 12 MILES PER HOUR SO I WAS A ROLL HAZARD.
THE CAR TRUNK POPS OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. IT POPPED OPEN OVERNIGHT IN THE GARAGE. IT POPPED OPEN WHEN I WAS INSIDE A RESTAURANT.
TAKATA AIR BAGS STOPPED WORKING, BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS. THE CAR DEALER SAID THE MAIN BRAIN FAILED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE BRAKES MADE A RUBBING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REFERRED THE CONTACT TO SHOTTENKIRK CHEVROLET (5031 AVENUE O, FORT MADISON, IA 52627, 319-248-8866). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE BY REPLACING ALL THE BRAKE CALIPERS, PADS, AND ROTORS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
I BOUGHT MY CAR USED, IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A YEAR YET THAT I HAVE HAD IT. MY AIR BAG SENSOR WENT OFF SO I HAD IT CHECKED. THEY THEN GAVE ME A QUOTE OF HOW MUCH IT IS TO FIX THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT IS THE MAIN BRAIN OF THE AIRBAGS AND TECHNICALLY IT CONTROLS BOTH DRIVERS & PASSENGER AIRBAGS. SO RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE BRAIN FAILED I DO NOT HAVE AIR BAGS AT ALL. IF I WERE TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULD NOT BE PROTECTED. I HAVE TALKED TO A FRIEND AT THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND THEY THINK THAT THE AIR BAG MIGHT HAVE BEEN DEFECTED AND TO CHECK INTO IT. I HAVE A CHEVEROLET CASE NUMBER AND HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS FURTHER ON THIS END. THANK YOU
SENSOR FOR ANTI STABILITY AND ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM FAILING MULTIPLE TIMES , THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED ON THE 2014 BUT NOT 2015. HAD PART REPLACED WHICH WAS REPLACED WITH SAME ISSUE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS ABS DISENGAGES AND THE ANTI STABILITY ALSO DISENGAGES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE UNINTENDEDLY ACCELERATED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. EACH TIME, THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. WHILE APPROACHING A LIGHT TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE SURGED FROM A LOW TO A HIGH RATE OF SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER (MALOUF CHEVROLET, 1975 US-1, NORTH BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP, NJ 08902, (732) 821-1100) AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO KEYES CHEVROLET (5949 VAN NUYS BLVD, SHERMAN OAKS, CA 91401) ABOUT DISABLING THE AUTO ENGINE IDLE STOP FEATURE ON THE VEHICLE AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FEATURE COULD NOT BE DISABLED. THIS WAS 3RD TIME I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT APPEARS RANDOMLY AND THE IGNITION FAILS TO TURN ON. I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY A FEW TIMES TO GET IT STARTED. MY CAR WAS SEEN THURS, WAS TOLD NO ISSUE WAS FOUND AND MANAGER WOULD DRIVE CAR HOME IN EVENING TO TEST. CALLED TODAY, FRIDAY IN AFTERNOON SINCE I DIDNT GET A CALL, WAS TOLD IT WAS THE BATTERY. HAD TO PAY $260 FOR BATTERY. THE PAST TWO OTHER VISITS, I WAS TOLD BATTERY WAS GOOD AND NOW ITS BAD...WAS JUST LEAVING THE DEALER, I STOPPED AT FIRST LIGHT AND NOTICE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON! RETURNED BACK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE. NOTHING TO DO WITH BATTERY YET ACCORDING TO THEM, THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE BATTERY. MY CAR WAS LEFT FOR THE 4TH TIME IN DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN LOOK AT IT. A CODE APPEARED AND TECH TOLD ME IT HAD TO DO WITH THE AUTO STOP! THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE END OF JAN!! PLEASE INVESTIGATE. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I BOUGHT CAR OCT 2015. I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THE BATTERY HAD BAD CELLS ALL OF A SUDDEN.

THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A CASE NUMBER.
