THE BACK REAR WINDOW LEAKS AROUND THE TOP/THIRD BRAKE LIGHT. THE DRIVERS SIDE LOWER FOG LIGHT/DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT DOESN'T WORK RANDOMLY AND THERE IS CONDENSATION IN THE INSIDE OF THE LENS.
FOR THREE WEEKS I HAVE BEEN GETTING A "SHIFT TO PARK" ERROR WHEN I PLACE CAR IN PARK. IT PREVENTS ME FROM FULLY TURNING CAR OFF AND WILL NOT ALLOW DOORS TO LOCK. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SHIFTER TO GET THE WARNING TO COME OFF. LAST WEEK IT WAS IN THE SHOP AT BASIL CHEVROLET IN DEPEW, NY AND THEY REPLACED THE SHIFT RELAY AND IT IS STILL DOING IT. TODAY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY CAR SUDDENLY SHOWED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, SLOWED DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 10-15 MILES PER HOUR AND SHOWED "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO A PARKING LOT BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF AND THE "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING SHOWED. FINALLY GOT THAT ERROR TO GO OFF AND SHUT OFF CAR. CAR WAS ABLE TO RESTART WITH ONLY THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. STAYED ON FOR THE NEXT 35 MILES. JUST WENT BACK OUT AT LUNCH TIME AND NOW NO LIGHTS AND IT WAS DRIVING FINE UNTIL I TRIED SHUTTING OFF AND THE "SHIFT TO PARK" WOULDN'T GO OFF NO MATTER HOW MUCH I TRIED TO WIGGLE THE HANDLE. CAR GOING BACK TO DEALER AT 5PM.
WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF A MESSAGE POPS UP SAYING SHIFT TO PARK....I TURN IT BACK ON PUT IN DRIVE AND PUSH THE GEAR HARD IN PARK AND IT WORK ...I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT EVERY TIME. IT JUST RECENTLY STARTED.2017 CHEVY MALIBU LS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS AND THE ENGINE POWER REDUCED WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HER THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE CAMSHAFT VACUUM PUMP. THE CONTACT CALLED VAN CHEVROLET (100 NW VIVION RD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64118, (816) 527-8564), BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
REDUCED ENGINE POWER IS A NORM FOR THESE NEW CHEVY MALIBU'S MY ENGENDER IS REDUCING POWER AGAIN. THEY CHARGES ME $345 LAST DECEMBER 3018 TO REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THIS OCTOBER 2019, IT'S DOING THE SAME THING. IT WILL REDUCE SPEED ON HIGHWAY UNDER 50 MPH AND I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY OTHER CARS IF THEY DID NOT NOTICE.
WHEN ADJUSTING THE DRIVERS SEAT FORWARD AFTER GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE, AND DRIVING, THE SEAT TURNS TOWARD THE MIDDLE CONSOLE. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO SEE WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING, I IMMEDIATELY ADJUSTED THE SEAT TO THE REAR POSITION. THE SEAT IS NOW LOCKED IN THE FARTHEST BACK POSITION AND WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD. THIS RESULTS IN A THE INABILITY TO MOVE THE SEAT FORWARD AND CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE. THE SEAT HAS SOMEHOW DISLODGED ITSELF FROM THE TRACK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO STATED THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES AND THAT IT WOULD COST AROUND 900.00 DOLLARS TO FIX.
CAR INDICATING TO PLACE IN PARK AFTER PLACING THE SHIFTER INTO PARK AND SHUTTING DOWN THE CAR THIS HAPPENS WEEKLY AT LEAST I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A LIGHT AND THE CAR JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF NO POWER DASH FLASHED A FEW TIMES I PUT IT IN PARK, THEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO START IT DIDNT START. IM STUCK AT STOPLIGHT ON BUSY STREET DURING MORNING TRAFFIC. SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED
SHIFT TO PARK ERROR WHEN PARKING VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS PLACED IN PARK AND INFORMATION CENTER INDICATES IT IS NOT IN PARK. THEN I AM UNABLE TO SET VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM AND ALSO CAR DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES.. I HAVE TO RESTART VEHICLE AND JIGGLE SHIFT HANDLE TO GET IT TO CLEAR SHIFT TO PARK ERROR... THEN I AM ABLE TO PARK AND LOCK THE CAR.
THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT LEAKS WATER AND HAS BEEN LEAKING WATER EVIDENT BY WATER MARKS ON THE VEHICLES HEAD LINER

ALSO, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR SHOWED THE VEHICLE IN PARK; HOWEVER, THE 'SHIFT INTO PARK' MESSAGE APPEARED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KELLER MOTORS INC (LOCATED AT 1795 S PERRYVILLE BLVD, PERRYVILLE, MO 63775, (573) 547-1002) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE CAR ON A IRREGULAR BUT BASIS BUT AT INCONVENIENT TIMES WILL NOT START WITH PUSH BUTTON START. ERROR MESSAGE IS "NO REMOTE DETECTED" THE INTERNET TELLS ME THE A TSB 197955 WAS ISSUED BUT I CAN GET ACCESS TO THE TSB..
VEHICLE DOES NOT REGISTER THAT IT HAS BEEN SHIFTED TO PARK. WHEN YOU STOP AND SHIFT IT TO PARK AND THEN TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, IT WILL COME UP WITH A WARNING TO "SHIFT TO PARK". IF YOU IGNORE THE WARNING, AND TRY TO OPEN THE DOORS, IT STARTS TO HONK AT YOU. IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF TURNING THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND SHIFTING OUT OF PARK AND BACK INTO PARK BEFORE IT REGISTERS THAT IT IS IN PARK.
CAR STALLS WHILE OPERATING, CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND FAILS TO REBOOT WITHOUT WARNING. I EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM SEVERAL TIME WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. CAR WILL ALSO SHUT DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN MOTION IE STOP SIGNS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, STOP & GO TRAFFIC...ETC. I WAS TRAVELING IN MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AT LEAST 65 TO 75 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE BEATS TWO OR THREE TIMES AND ACROSS THE SCREEN CAME THE WORDS 'REDUCE ENGINE SPEED'. AT THAT MOMENT I WAS TRAVELING IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND I HAD TO SAFELY GET OVER TO THE FAR RIGHT MEDIAN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC SAFELY TURN OFF AND WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES TO START IT BACK UP. WHEN I STARTED MY VEHICLE BACK UP AGAIN I STILL RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE. I THEN WAITED EVEN LONGER AND EVERYTHING WAS OK BUT EVENTUALLY THE SAME ISSUE CONTINUED TO HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO GET CODED AND THE CODES THAT WERE GIVEN TO ME WERE 2122, 2123, 2101. IT'S UNSAFE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN ESPECIALLY I HAVE A CHILD THIS IS NO SAFE FOR ME.

WEST STE. # 1, FORT WORTH, TX 76116, (817) 696-2000) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,211.
MY BRAKE BOOSTERS WENT OUT AND I PAID 700 NOW SOMETHING ODD IS HAPPENING TO MY BRAKES WITH THE AIR OR PRESSURE. SHOULD THIS WHOLE CAR BE RECALLED? MY ELECTRICS BLINKED OUT THE DAY I GOT THE CAR AND THE SALESMAN SAID ' IT HAPPENS SOMETIMES NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE A BATTERY FOR290 ON A CAR I HAVE LESS THAN 2 YEARS?? IT WAS MENTIONED THE AUTO START AFFECTS MY BATTERY!! I NEED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT REIMBURSEMENT AND COVERING MY BATTERY. ON PUSH TO START IGNITION, OCASSIONALLY WHEN STOPPING AND PLACING VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN PRESSING STOP ON IGNITION BUTTON, A WARNING MESSAGE POPS UP TO SHIF TO PARK. AFTER PUTTING FOOT ON BRAKE AND PRESSING IGNITION BUTTON ON TO START THE VEHICLE, AND THEN IMMEDIATELY PRESSING IGNITION BUTTON TO STOP VEHICLE ( WITHOUT TOUCHING SHIFT), THE MESSAGE DOES NOT RETURN. THIS OCCURRENCE SEEMS PURELY RANDOM AND OCCASIONAL.
I HAVE NOTICED A FUNKY SMELL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN AUGUST 2017. THE SMELL WOULD GO AWAY SO I NEVER LOOKED INTO IT. AFTER A BAD RAIN STORM, THE INTERIOR SMELLED AGAIN. I WENT INTO THE TRUNK A DAY LATER AND THE TIRE WELL COVER WAS WET. I FOUND WATER UNDER THE COVER AND SAW THAT IT RAN IN FROM UNDER THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW AREA. I ALSO FOUND WATER TRAILS DOWN THE REAR WINDOW SIDE PLASTIC CASING INSIDE THE CAR. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND MANY MANY COMPLAINTS FROM 2016 THRU 2019 VEHICLES ABOUT THE 3RD BREAK LIGHT LEAKING DUE TO LOOSE SCREWS. SOUNDS TO THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY GM. A SIMPLE FIX OF TIGHTENING THE SCREWS OR USING LOCK TYPE SCREWS. WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND REPAIR FOR SOMETHING GM IS NOT DOING

THE CONTACT DROVE TO ART MOEHN CHEVROLET HONDA (2200 SEYMOUR RD, JACKSON, MI 49201, 517-787-7700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE CAMSHAFT THAT BURST AND SPREAD METAL FRAGMENTS THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED THE CONTACT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TOWARDS THE COST OF A NEW ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
THE CAR INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO PARK. I WILL PLACE THE CAR INTO PARK, TRY TO TURN OFF THE CAR, AND THE MONITOR WILL DISPLAY "SHIFT CAR INTO PARK". THIS HINDERS ME FROM TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND I'LL SPEND TIME HAVING TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO DIFFERENT GEARS TO GET IT TO RECOGNIZE THAT IT'S IN PARK.

I PUT MY CAR IN PARK, TURN MY ENGINE OFF AND THERE'S AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING, "PUT IN PARK." I HAVE TO KEEP TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND ON, AND PUTTING IT IN DRIVE AND PARK NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF.
I PLACED MY CAR IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE'S DASH STATED 'SHIFT TO PARK.' ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF NONE OF THE ELECTRICAL SHUT DOWN AND THE VEHICLE SENT NOTIFICATION THAT THE KEYS WERE LEFT IN THE CAR WHEN THEY WERE NOT. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM IN MY MAKE/MODEL OF CAR. THIS IS A 2017 CHEVY MALIBU.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-541350439. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,680. *TR GM STATED THE MALFUNCTION WOULD NOT BE COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND POWER TRAIN ISSUE AND SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY.*JB
THE VOLT SHIFT TO PARK ISSUE. DOES NOT RECOGNIZE PARK (IF IT IS IN PARK??) TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, WHICH WOULD MAKE IT A SAFETY ISSUE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD MY 2017 MALABU STARTED SLOWING DOWN ON IT'S ON I TRIED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND THE BREAKS DID NOT WORK CAR DIED AND WILL NOT RESTART. CODE INDICATES BREAK BOOSTER CAR IS IN YARD
IN AUGUST OF 2019 MY CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AT NIGHT WHERE IT WAS THERE FOR A WEEK THIS VISIT WAS FOR THE GEAR SHIFT TO BE REPLACED. OCTOBER 2019 MY CAR START STOP FEATURE MADE MY CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR MORNING TRAFFIC THIS TRIP WAS SAID TO BE THE CHARGING SYSTEM AND THE BATTERY. IN JANUARY 2020 I STARTED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE CAR JUST STOPPING THIS TIME IT WAS THE ELECTRICAL MODULE I ALSO HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND A ALL WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND I PICKED UP MY CAR AND 10 DAYS LATER MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO BACK TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS THEY SAY WE FIXED IT. 48 HOURS LATER THE ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON. I WAS TOLD THAT WE JUST CLEARED THE ENGINE LIGHT IN HOPE'S THAT WOULD JUST FIX THE PROBLEM SO NOW 2 AND HALF WEEKS LATER THEY STILL HAVE MY CAR. THEY HAVE NO CLUE OF WHAT'S HAPPENING.
AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, THE P ON THE SHIFTER LIGHTS UP THAT IT IS IN PARK, THE SCREEN READS THAT IS IS IN PARK, AND THE CAR IS PARKED AND NOT MOVING. AFTER PRESSING THE ENGINE BUTTON TO TURN THE CAR OFF, A WARNING POPS UP ON THE SCREEN SAYING 'SHIFT TO PARK!' EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS IN PARK. IT TAKES MANY TRIES AND A LOT OF TIME TO FINALLY GET THE CAR TO TURN OFF.
SHIFT TO PARK LIGHT WOULD DISPLAY ON THE CONTROL PANEL AND THE CAR WOULD NOT CUT OFF COMPLETELY.. THIS ISSUE BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY AND FINALLY BECAME CONSTANT. DIAGNOSTICS FOUND INTERNAL FAULT IN THE SHIFT CONTROL. SHIFT CONTROL WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED AT A COST OF $394.77 BY WOODALL CHEVROLET IN DANVILLE, VIRGINIA
INDICATOR LIGHT REPEATEDLY COMES AND SAYS, PLEASE SHIFT VEHICLE INTO PARK. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN PARK. I WILL HAVE BEEN PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY ALREADY IN PARK MODE, I WILL HAVE TO KEEP STARTING AND STOPPING THE VEHICLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RECOGNIZE IT IS ALREADY SHIFTED GEARS INTO THE PARK POSITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN 6 TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN THE LAST 2 YEARS

THE TOP OF THE REAR WINDOW NEAR THE THIRD BREAK LIGHT STARTING LEAKING. I REVIEWED ONLINE CHEVROLET FORUMS WITH COMMON COMPLAINTS AND READ THE DEFECT COULD BE RELATED TO RECENT RECALLS WITH THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE LEAK IS CAUSE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLES INTERIOR PANELS. *TR
WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN PARK, IF I TURN OFF MY ENGINE AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF SITTING IN PARK, SOMETIMES MY CAR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE IT'S IN PARK. MY CAR WILL TELL ME TO PUT IT IN PARK BEFORE I'M ABLE TO TURN OFF MY CAR. SOMETIMES I JUST HAVE TO STEP ON MY BREAK AGAIN, AND IT WILL RECOGNIZE IT'S IN PARK. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO TURN MY ENGINE BACK ON AND WAIT A MINUTE OR TWO. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN BEFORE PUTTING IT IN PARK, WAITING A COUPLE MINUTES, AND THEN IT FINALLY RECOGNIZES IT'S IN PARK. I HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT WHAT WORKS BEST, EXCEPT FOR JUST WAITING A LITTLE BIT BEFORE TRYING TO TURN OFF MY ENGINE. IF I CAN'T GET MY CAR TO RECOGNIZE IT'S IN PARK, I CAN'T LEAVE MY CAR BECAUSE THE BATTERY WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL IT RECOGNIZES IT'S IN PARK. IT CAN BE VERY FRUSTRATING. WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT CHEVY, I MENTIONED THIS PROBLEM TO CHEVY, THINKING MAYBE SOMETHING WAS LOOSE. THEY SAID THEY'VE HEARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, AND SAID THEY COULD FIX IT. WHEN I CAME BACK FOR MY NEXT OIL CHANGE, I AGAIN NEEDED TO MENTION THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY FOR A LITTLE BUT COMES BACK. AGAIN, THEY SAID THEY COULD FIX IT, BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM, IT'S HAPPENING TO MULTIPLE CHEVY CUSTOMERS, BUT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR HOW TO FIX IT.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE LEFT MOST LANE OF A TOLLWAY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, THE CAR WAS AT A STOP AND SUDDENLY LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITH NO WARNING OR WARNING LIGHTS. NOTHING WORKED INCLUDING HAZARD LIGHTS. ATTEMPTS TO JUMP START THE CAR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A SAFE PLACE. AFTER THAT THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AS IF NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. NO ERROR LIGHTS OR ANY VISIBLE SIGNS THAT SOMETHING WAS EVER WRONG. BATTERY WAS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD AND FUEL WAS 1/3 TANK.
CAR SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING-THE CAR GOES DEAD DE-ENERGIZED COMPLETELY. ALL CONTROLS WOULD NOT WORK JUST LOCKED UP ON ME. I HAD TO HAVE THE UNIT TOWED TWICE, WE SWITCHED THE BATTERY IN THE KEY FOB AND THE CAR ENDED UP STARTING, HOWEVER 2 WEEKS LATER IT DIED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING, I NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT AGAIN!! 3 TIMES THE CAR HAS BEEN IN MOTION GOING STRAIGHT AND COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WITH THEIR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING!! THIS HAS TO BE SOME SORT OF MAL-FUNCTION OR RECALL REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
ON JULY 22, 2019 WHILE OUT OF TOWN, MY CAR WENT INTO REDUCED ENGINE POWER MODE, EVERYTHING LOCKED UP AND THE CAR CUT OFF. THE CAR WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE CLOSEST SHOP WHERE IT WOULD SIT FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF. I WAS TOLD THAT INITIALLY IT WAS A SENSOR, THEN COME TO FIND OUT THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT TOOK A FEW WEEKS TO GET THE PARTS AS THEY SAID THEY WERE ON BACK ORDER. FINALLY I GET THE MONEY TO PICK THE CAR UP. UPON GETTING INTO THE CAR ON OCTOBER 12, WHILE STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NOW I AM TOLD THAT THE SENSORS AND PISTONS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS 89,000 MILES ON IT AND OVER ALL THE TOTAL REPAIRS WILL BE OVER SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. I HAVE SENT SOME DOCUMENTATION TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH REGARDS TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM NUMBER N182195660 ATTACHED BELOW. THIS DESCRIBES EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN WRONG WITH MY CAR THIS TIME IN THE SHOP AND THE REPAIRS THAT THEY NEED DO WITH THE PISTONS AS OF NOW. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO GM TO OPEN A CASE TO SEE IF MY CAR COULD BE PART OF THIS NOTIFICATION, THOUGH THEY HAVE INITIALLY TOLD ME ITS NOT, ITS TOO OBVIOUS THAT THE CAR MEETS EVERYTHING THAT IS DESCRIBED IN THE NOTICE.
TWICE THIS WEEK AS I WOULD COME TO A STOP LIGHT A NOTIFICATION WOULD COME UP IN THE DASHBOARD SAYING SOMETHING REGARDING THE STEERING ASSIST AND ALL OF MY LIGHTS WOULD COME ON INSIDE THE DASHBOARD THEN THE CAR WOULD SHUT OFF I DON'T EXACTLY KNOW WHAT CAUSES IT SO TURN BACK ON BUT I WOULD TURN IT ON AND OFF AND THE FIRST COUPLE TIMES IT WOULD JUST CLICK THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'LL CRANK BACK UP. I'M ABOUT TO HAVE A CHILE SO THIS IS VERY CONCERNING FOR ME.
WHEN EXITING OFF THE FREEWAY TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE CAR. BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SOLID MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP OR EVEN SLOW THE CAR DOWN. ENGINE LIGHT POPPED ON AND WHEN DIAGNOSED, THE FOLLOWING CODES APPEAR: BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SENSOR, WORN/DAMAGED VACUUM LINES, CORRODED/DAMAGED CONNECTOR, DAMAGE/FAULTY WIRING, DEFECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER, DEFECTIVE PCM.
SHIFTER MALFUNCTIONS. WHEN YOU TURN THE CAR OFF IT CLAIMS IT'S IN PARK BUT THEN GIVES A SAFETY NOTICE THAT YOU NEED TO SHIFT TO PARK
WARNING MESSAGE SAYS 'SHIFT INTO PARK' & EVEN THOUGH ENGINE SHUTS OFF, THE RADIO (& I'M ASSUMING BATTERY) DOESN'T. CAR WON'T LOCK BECAUSE OF IT. HAS REQUIRED TURNING CAR BACK ON & OFF AS MANY AS 8 TIMES, AND/OR MOVING FORWARD OR BACKWARDS NUMEROUS TIMES. CHEVY DEALER'S SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME "YEAH, WE'VE HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THAT. WE USUALLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER CONTROL BOX".
1. ONCE THE CAR IS SHIFTED TO PARK, SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NOT POWER DOWN DUE TO AN ERROR MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK." 2. MPG IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT 30 MILES PER GALLON HOWEVER I AM ONLY GETTING ABOUT 20MPG.
ON SATURDAY, JUNE 29TH, 2019 APPROXIMATELY AT 12:30 PM MY FAMILY'S 2017 CHEVROLET MALIBU WAS IN MOTION IN A MAJOR INTERSTATE (I-75) AND THE TRAFFIC STARTED SLOWING DOWN, I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW DOWN AND THE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD TO BRAKE AND HAVING TO SWERVE TO THE SIDE OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE VEHICLE'S MESSAGE BOARD READ "ENGINE POWER REDUCED". I ALSO RECEIVED AN EMAIL MESSAGE FROM ON-STAR STATING THAT AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM WAS DETECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VICTORY LANE CHEVROLET IN FORT MYERS, FLORIDA, AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN TOLD US THAT THE ISSUE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION AS THE VEHICLE MESSAGE STATED, BUT A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM'S VACUUM. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A REALLY BAD ACCIDENT AND HOPE THAT THIS INFORMATION CAN HELP AVOID ANY PROBLEMS TO ANYBODY. WE ARE STILL WORRY ABOUT DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, SINCE WE ARE BECOMING AWARE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT SEEMS TO BE REPEATING ITSELF TO MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND MODEL AS OUR MALIBU IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR AUGUST 2017. WHEN I PUT MY CAR INTO PARK IT STATES THAT IT NEED TO "SHIFT TO PARK" EVEN THOUGH IT IS PARK. IT HAPPENED ONCE AND THEN AFTER THAT IT WAS LIKE ALMOST EVERY TIME I PARK MY CAR. WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF IS WHEN THE ALERT HAPPENS, THEN YOU HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR AND TAKE OUT OF GEAR AND TRY AGAIN. IT HAPPENS UP TO 4 TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY WORKS. IT IS LIKE YOU HAVE TO JAM IT INTO PARK TO MAKE IT REALIZE IT IS IN PARK. TAKING INTO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT ON 06/27/19. HOPEFULLY IT WILL GET FIXED. TO NEW OF A CAR TO HAVE ISSUES THIS EARLY. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER AT ALL!!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. CAR WILL ALSO SHUT DOWN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN MOTION IE STOP SIGNS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, STOP & GO TRAFFIC...ETC. THE CAR HAVING NO POWER THAT I CAN'T EVEN PUT MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. THIS HAPPENS FOR THE LAST TIME ON 6/11/2020 CARS BRAKES BECAME TOUGH TO PUSH COULD BARELY STOP THE CAR, ONCE STOPPED THE CAR LOST ALL POWER SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND HAD TO BE TOWED ONCE AGAIN. ALL THE SAME WARNING LIGHTS. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY BROKE DOWN AND NOT STARTING AT ALL. ALSO I HAVE 2' OF WATER IN WHEEL WELL CAR LEAKS WATER INTO SPARE TIRE WELL. CAR IS MOLDING DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THIS CAR MODEL SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS COULD CAUSE SOME HORRIBLE ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF A MALFUNCTION/ DEFECTIVE PART THAT WAS INSTALLED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY MANY PEOPLE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS.
