I WAS DRIVING MY CAR THIS MORNING THIS HAPPENED 4 TIMES, I WAS IN A STOP WHEN I WOULD RESTART THE CAR TO GO MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD DO A QUICK SHIFT TO THE LEFT THEN BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION THEN I WOULD GET THE STEERING ASSIST REDUCED SIGN FOR SECOND THEN DISAPPEAR. IT DID IT 4 TIMES IN A MATTER OF AN HOUR AND A HALF. AND DID IT ONCE LAST WEEK WITH NO MASSAGE DISPLAY.
WHEN PUTTING MY CAR IN PARK TO TURN OFF, THE CAR DOESN'T RECOGNIZE IT'S IN PARK AND THUS WON'T TURN OFF. AS SUCH, I CANNOT LEAVE THE VEHICLE.
I always get rattling noise during gas paddle pressed while driving. Once I start put foot on gas paddle, rattling noise starts and when foot remove then it stops. it does not matter what is the speed and whether I am accelerating/de-accelerating. I visited dealer many times to fix this sound issue but not resolved by dealer. I observed another point which is during AC (Heater ON), sound comes but during AC (Cooler ON), rattling sound is infrequent i.e. sometime happens and sometime not. I am not sure from which part this sound comes but it is from Front Hood for sure. This sound I noticed when my car crossed 47K/48K miles in 2020.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG LIKE NORMAL AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING. WE CANNOT GET IT TO START. WE TRIED JUMPING IT, BUT NO LUCK. I HAVE A BRAND NEW BATTERY, SO IT'S NOT THE BATTERY.
THE VEHICLE ENGINE REDUCED POWER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING ABRUPT DROP IN SPEED TO LOWER THAN THE SPEED LIMIT ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND A BUMPER TO BUMPER COLLISION.
CAR WENT BACK TO DEALERSHIP MONDAY BECAUSE OF PROBLEM I HAD LAST YEAR. LIGHTS COMES ON IN DASHBOARD : STABILTRACK, ENGINE ICON, REDUCED STEERING, LOW FUEL. ON MY WAY TO WORK MONDAY JUST MADE IT OUT MY DRIVEWAY AND STARTED UP THE HILL AND THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. BRAKES HAD TO BE PUSHED ASK THE WAY TO THE FLOOR FOR IT TO STOP ROLLING BACK DOWN THE HILL. I LET IT ROLL BACK TO GET THE CAR OUT OF STREET. THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN OFF WHEN I PRESSED THE START/STOP BUTTON. PRESSED THE BUTTON AGAIN THE CAR TURNS OFF BUT ALL LIGHTS ARE ON IN THE DASH. PRESS BUTTON AGAIN AND LIGHTS GO OUT BUT THE START BUTTON IS LIT. SHIFT TO PARK COMES ON DASH. IT'S IN PARK. COULDN'T GET ENGINE TO TURN ON. COULDN'T MOVE GEAR SHIFT THAT HAS NO LIGHTS ON COLUMN OR DASH TO TELL WHAT GEAR IT'S IS IN. GOT CAR TOWED TO GREENWAY IN TUSCUMBIA, AL. HAD TO FIND A RIDE TO & FROM WORK BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE A LONER .PICKED CAR UP TUESDAY(THEY SAID THE BATTERY NEEDED TO CHARGED & THERE WAS A RECALL THEY FIXED) MADE IT HOME OK. WENT TO STORE, NO PROBLEM. GOT IN CAR TO GO TO WORK WEDNESDAY AND IT STARTS ACTING UP AGAIN. AND WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AT WORK, THERE WAS SMELL LIKE THE BRAKES WERE REALLY HOT. CALLED DEALERSHIP DIDN'T GET THROUGH TO SERVICE BUT GUY SAID HE WOULD GET MY NUMBER & HAVE SOMEONE CALL, NO ONE DID. GOT IN CAR TO LEAVE WORK THE LIGHTS STARTED AGAIN BUT I WAS ABLE TO COME HOME WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENTS. THE ENGINE ICON WAS STILL ON THOUGH. I'M SICK OF THIS CAR! AND I'M TIRED OF GOING TO THE DEARSHIP EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS OR EVERY 2 WEEKS! BUY THIS LEMON BACK!
THE ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND SAYS ENGINE POWER REDUCE. I HAD A RECALL TO NHTSA DONE, BUT THE SAME PROBLEM, AND VEHICLE STALLS LIKE ITS SHUTTING OFF OR WON'T PICK UP SPEED.
THE CAR SAYS IT'S NOT IN PARK WHEN YOU SHUT IT OFF. THE FOB SEEMS TO NOT RESPOND SOMETIMES. SOMETIMES IT WON'T START AND TELLS YOU TO PUT IT INTO THE CENTER CONSOLE POCKET BUT IT STILL WON'T RESPOND. IT WILL SAY THERE IS NO FOB IN THE CAR. I REPLACED THE BATTERY TO MAKE SURE THAT WASN'T THE ISSUE. EVEN WITH THE FOB IN THE CAR, IT SET OFF THE ALARM WHEN I TRIED TO START IT. IT TOOK ALMOST 5 MINUTES FOR IT TO RESPOND TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF BUT IT WOULD LET ME LOCK THE DOORS WHILE SITTING INSIDE IT. SO IT REGISTERS THE UNLOCK AND LOCKING MECHANISM BUT NOTHING ELSE SOMETIMES.
THE CAR IS A 2018 AND THE DEALER SAYS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHIFTER IS BAD. THE CAR READS IT'S IN PARK BUT SAYS SHIFT TO PARK TO SHUT CAR OFF. IN TALKING WITH OTHERS FOUND OUT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. I JUST BOUGHT IT USED IN JULY 2020 WITH 41000 MILES AND IT'S BEEN DOING THIS SINCE I GOT IT OFF AND ON. I TOOK IT TO DEALER TO REPORT PROBLEMS BEFORE I HAD IT 30 DAYS AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUES.
WHEN CAR IS STATIONARY WAITING FOR RED LIGHT TO CHANGE, THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND POWER CYCLE SHOWING STABILITRAK ERROR MESSAGE BEFORE TURNING BACK ON. THIS ALSO OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND ENGINE IS OFF FOR SEVERAL HOURS.
WHILE DRIVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , DISPLAY SAID DIMINISHED ENGINE POWER , NO THROTTLE RESPONSE
My vehicle showed up on a Carfax report as being in an accident in Tennessee on 10/15/2020 when the vehicle was in Iowa on that date. The Chattanooga police report shows this VIN# on a 2002 Chevy Minivan owned by Enterprise Car Rentals with Colorado license plate 266XFH. My vehicle is a 2018 Chevy Malibu sedan purchased from Enterprise March 26, 2019. I do not understand why two vehicles have the same VIN #. Please investigate.
AFTER 2 MONTHS OF HAVING THIS CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND AFTER THE STABILITRAK LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHICH REDUCED THE SPEED OF THE CAR . THIS WOULD COME ON WHEN I'M DRIVING OR EVEN IF I JUST CRANK THE CAR UP FROM IT SITTING OVER NIGHT . I GOT IT TESTED AND THE SHOP DOESN'T KNOW WHY IT KEEPS COMING ON . THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS READS THAT THE THROTTLE NEED TO BE CHANGED BUT THAT'S NOT THE ONLY ISSUE . MY BOYFRIEND BELIEVES THAT THE HUB BEARING NEEDS TO BE FIX BUT WE DON'T KNOW . THE CAR DOES NOT PICK UP SPEED WHEN THE TRACTION LIGHT IS ON . THE TRACTION LIGHT ALSO READS 'ENGINE POWER REDUCE ' BEFORE THE LIGHT COMES ON . I JUST GOT THIS CAR AND I'M NOW HAVING TO SPEND 1,000+ DOLLARS ON A CAR THAT'S 'NEW' . NONE OF THE ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY .
WHEN MY CAR IS IN PARK, MY SYSTEM IS NOT PICKING UP THAT IT IS IN PARK WHICH MEANS I CANT TURN OFF THE VEHICLE WHICH WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLES BATTERY TO DIE. YOU HAVE TO LITERALLY JAM THE SHIFTER IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO READ IT, WHICH EVENTUALLY DOESN'T WORK EITHER.
IN MAY OF 2020 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IN WOODBRIDGE,VA FOR A ECM RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER WAITING FOR THEM TO DO THE RECALL THEY STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. FROM OCTOBER TO CURRENT MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN DOING EVERYTHING THAT WAS STATED IN THE RECALL WHICH LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THAT THEY NEVER CHANGED THE PART. MY VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ALMOST CAUSING ME A ACCIDENT AND MOST DAYS NOW IT WON'T EVEN START. I GOT MY BATTERY CHECKED OUT AND MY BATTERY TESTED 100% SO I KNOW THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET THAT PART REPLACED. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY WHEN IT'S ONLY BEEN A COUPLE OF MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL, SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. -THANK YOU!
When I put my car in park a notice comes up in my dashboard saying “shift to park” even though when I take my foot off the break it’s in parked. I took it to a Chevy dealer and said it will $500+ to fix. I have asked 5 other people with my same car (2018 or 2019) and they have the same issue. Now my car is having issues when shifting gears. There seems to be a delay in gear shifts when I go from drive to reverse or to park.
I WAS DRIVING IN A NEIGHBORHOOD ABOUT 15 MPH. MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS BLINKING, STABILITY TRACK LIGHT WAS ON, AND AN ICON CAME UP SAYING THAT THE 'SERVICE STABLITREK.' I HAD LITTLE CONTROL OVER THE STEERING AND I FELT NO TRACTION WHILE TRYING TO PULL OVER. I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE CAR PROMPTS A SHIFT TO PARK, EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS IN PARK.
VEHICLE ECM FAILS WHEN ACCELERATING. LOSES POWER/SHUTS DOWN. CANNOT ENTER FREEWAYS, PASS, OR PERFORM OTHER MANEUVERS REQUIRING SUDDEN INCREASE POWER DEMANDS. ECM FAILS TO RECORD INCIDENT. EVERY TIME. EVERY DAY. UPDATED ECM SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK. RESET CHECK ENGINE MODE SHUTS DOWN OTHER VEHICLE FUNCTIONS. HAVE BEEN TOO CLOSE TO BEING RUN OFF THE INTERSTATE, HIT WHEN ENTERING FROM ON-RAMP, REAR-ENDED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. NHTSA DOES NOT INVESTIGATE BECAUSE DEATH AND INJURY CANNOT BE LINKED TO FAILURES BECAUSE THE MODULE DOES NOT RECORD ISSUES/FAILURES. THERE IS NO FIX. EVERY DAY YOU GET IN YOUR CAR AND WONDER IF TODAY IS THE DAY YOU DIE BECAUSE YOUR VEHICLE FAILED TO PERFORM AT A CRITICAL MOMENT. NOW VEHICLE SHUT DOWNS WHILE DRIVING ON LEVEL SURFACES, AT CONSTANT SPEED, WITH NO ADDITIONAL DEMANDS. AM INSTALLING CAMS TO RECORD TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND VEHICLE WARNINGS DISPLAYED ON DASH SINCE ECM DOES NOT RECORD FAILURES. I BELIEVE A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION INTO ALL REAR END COLLISIONS INVOLVING 2018 MALIBUS SHOULD BE CONDUCTED SINCE THE VITAL LINK, THE ECM RECORD, HAS BEEN DISABLED BY MANUFACTURER.
NARRATIVE FROM DRIVER: "ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 22, 2020, AT APPROXIMATELY 10:45 AM, I LEFT MY RESIDENCE LOCATED IN BOCA RATON, FL WITH MY GSA VEHICLE (TAG G10 3884V) TO DRIVE TO THE MOBIL LUBE OIL EXPRESS (MOBIL) LOCATED AT 90 NW SPANISH RIVER BLVD, BOCA RATON, FL. THE MOBIL IS APPROXIMATELY 3 MILES FROM MY RESIDENCE. I DROVE DIRECTLY FROM MY RESIDENCE TO THE MOBIL AND DID NOT MAKE ANY STOPS. AS I WAS DRIVING AROUND THE BACK OF THE MOBIL BUILDING TO PULL INTO ONE OF THE BAYS FOR AN OIL CHANGE, I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE CAR IN A PARKING SPACE BEHIND THE MOBIL AND EXITED THE CAR. MOMENTS LATER, FLAMES WERE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE CAR. UPON SEEING THE FLAMES, I CALLED 911, WHO THEN CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WHO CAME AND PUT OUT THE FIRE IN THE CAR. ADDITIONALLY, I CALLED GSA WHO CALLED A TOWING COMPANY (WESTLAKE TOWING) TO TOW THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM THE MOBIL PARKING LOT AS THERE IS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND IT IS INOPERABLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE GSA CAR."
THE VEHICLE HAS A MESSAGE THAT POPS UP ON THE DASH SAYING "SHIFT TO PARK" WHEN THE CAR IS ALREADY IN PARK. THIS DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO TURN OFF THE CAR. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND PARKED.
THE CHECK ENGINE HAS COME ON THREE TIMES ALREADY SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE... EVERYTIME THE CODE IS FOR EMISSIONS SYSTEM. WE HAVE REPLACES THE VALVE AND THE CANISTER FOR EMISSIONS AND THE ENGINE LIGHT STILL COMES ON.. ALSO THE SHIFT TO PARK ISSUE.
AFTER TURNING ON MY HEATER AND DRIVING THE CAR 10 MINUTES THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE. I SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING WHEN I PARKED AND GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE, BUT THOUGHT IT WAS COMING FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. I CAME BACK TO MY CAR 2 HOURS LATER AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD BEEN OUT AND THE FRONT END OF MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY CHARRED.
CAR IS STATIONARY WHILE WAITING FOR RED LIGHT TO CHANGE, THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF AND REDUCED DRIVING ASSISTANCE ERROR MESSAGE WILL POP UP BEFORE TURNING BACK ON. THE RADIO WILL ALSO CUT OUT IN PROCESS OF CAR TURNING BACK ON FRIM AUTO SHUT OFF. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A MONTH AND SEEMS TO GET WORSE. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON TODAY ASWELL
MY 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU HAS A PROBLEM WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE INTO PARK. THE MESSAGE ON MY DASH SAYS " SHIFT TO PARK " EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN PARK. AND YOU CAN NOT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. YOU CAN TRY SHIFTING IT BACK INTO DRIVE OR LOW AND THEN GO BACK TO PARK BUT WE GET THE SAME MESSAGE " SHIFT TO PARK " AND AGAIN EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN PARK, YOU CAN NOT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. ISN'T THIS A DANGEROUS SITUATION ?
SHIFT TO PARK WARNING WHEN EXITING VEHICLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND ENGINE IS OFF
WE HAD THE ECM SYSTEM RECAL FIXED (REPROGRAMMED) AND IT WAS OK, BUT NOW A COUPLE MONTHS LATER ITS DOING IT AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING THE TRACTION LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND POWER AND SPEED IS REDUCED, WITHOUT WARNING AND WON'T ALLOW ACCELERATION. USUALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. VERY DANGEROUS!
WHILE DRIVING IN COLDER WEATHER ALONG THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH FOR 5 MILES OR LONGER THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY LOCKS IN AT THE TOP POSITION CAUSING A SLIGHT OVER CORRECTIONS WHEN NEEDING TO TURN THE WHEEL TO CHANGE LANES
WHILE DRIVING IN SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC, I WILL GET A WARNING ON THE DASH THAT STATES "STEERING ASSIST REDUCED, DRIVE CAREFUL" THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES, WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG.
THE POWER SHIFTER IN THE CAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AS WITH MANY OF THE OTHER RECENT COMPLAINTS I SEE ON HERE, WHEN I WENT TO TURN OFF THE CAR IT POPPED UP THE "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING EVEN THOUGH I WAS ALREADY IN PARK AND WOULDN'T POWER OFF THE RADIO OR LIGHTS. IT APPEARS THIS IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH ALL OF THE 2018 MALIBU'S AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
THE LOCKS WILL LOCK/UNLOCK ON THEIR OWN. THE BATTERY HAS TO BE CONSTANTLY JUMPED. THE CAR REJECTED THE ECW MODULE UPDATE.
SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK & TRY TO CUT THE CAR OFF, THE WARNING SIGNAL INDICATES THAT I NEED TO SHIFT TO PARK.
MY CAR WAS RECALLED FOR A REDUCED POWER ISSUE IN APRIL 2020. THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING LOW POWER WHEN DRIVING, CAUSING SLUGGISHNESS AND TURNING OFF WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFIC SIGNALS. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO OURISMAN CHEVROLET IN MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD ON APRIL 4TH AND THE RECALL WAS ADDRESSED. AS OF THIS WRITING, I AM EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE OF LOW POWER WHEN DRIVING/STOPPING AND AM CONCERNED THAT THE ISSUE (1) WAS NOT PROPERLY ADDRESSED, OR (2) WAS MISDIAGNOSED BY CHEVROLET. WHAT IS MY RECOURSE HERE? I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT, AGAIN, AT A CHARGE OF $190, WHICH I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR.
TAKING MY FIANC TO THE AIRPORT SO THAT HE CAN REPORT FOR DUTY AND THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY COMES TO A SPEED OF 20MPH ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSE A VEHICLE BEHIND ME TO COME TO A CLOSE CONTACT WITH MY CAR. REPLACED SENSOR AND PEDAL AS INSTRUCTED BECAUSE I AM FRESH OUT OF MY WARRANTY AND A MONTH LATER. THE ISSUE RETURNED. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY 200 TO 500 EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS OR MO THE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. CHEVY IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS ELECTED TO DO NOTHING. IT HAS BEEN REOCCURRING IN2016 TO 2018 VEHICLES.
WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN PARK THE SHIFTER DOES NOT FULLY ENGAGE RESULTING IN THE INABILITY TO PARK THE CAR OR TURN IT OFF. THE MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAYS "SHIFT INTO PARK" EVEN THOUGH THE SHIFTER IS ACTUALLY IN PARK.
THE CARS REDUCED ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF, SLOWING DOWN ON THE FREEWAY AND THE TRACTION LIGHTS KEEP COMING ON. AFTER BEING PAID THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AT 70MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME AND STARTED BACK UP. THIS WAS VERY SCARY, THANKFULLY I WAS IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE AND NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME AT THE TIME. I WAS THINKING IT WAS A BATTERY ISSUE BUT AFTER GETTING MY BATTERY CHECKED THAT SEEMED TO NOT BE THE CASE. THE SAME PROBABLY HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO RESTART CAUSING OTHER PEOPLE IN VEHICLES TO BLOW THEIR HORN OR CURSE ME OUT WHILE GOING AROUND ME! I DID GET A WARNING SIGN ON DASHBOARD THAT STATES STABILITRAC. I DID TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP TODAY BUT FEAR THE OUTCOME WILL NOT BE RESOLVED. I'M JUST TOO SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR AT THIS POINT IN THE FEAR OF AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS AT UNPREDICTABLE TIMES.
ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED WEN YOU GOING AT 50 TO 60 IN THE FREEWAY IS DANGEROUSLY
WHEN VEHICLE IS SHIFTED INTO PARK AND THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF, "SHIFT TO PARK" DISPLAYS ON THE VEHICLES SCREEN AND WILL NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO FULLY TURN OFF. IN ORDER TO HAVE THE LIGHT TURN OFF, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO WIGGLE THE GEAR SHIFT AROUND WHEREAS SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE START BUTTON AND SHIFT BETWEEN GEARS A FEW TIMES.
I PUT MY CAR INTO PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF. THE DASHBOARD TELLS ME THAT I NEED TO 'SHIFT TO PARK' EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS IN PARK. THE RADIO AND DASHBOARD WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL I GET MY CAR TO REGISTER THAT IT IS IN PARK. HAVE TO TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF, SHIFT INTO GEARS, AND BACK INTO PARK TO TRY AND GET IT TO REGISTER. EVENTUALLY AFTER DOING THAT MULTIPLE TIMES IT WILL REGISTER. ANOTHER ISSUE IS WITH THE RADIO AND BLUE TOOTH. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND EVERYTHING WAS OFF. MY NEPHEW CAME OVER LATER AND ASKED WHY MY RADIO WAS ON. RADIO RANDOMLY TURNS ON WHEN CAR IS/HAS BEEN OFF FOR PERIODS OF TIME. I HAVE AUTOMATIC START AND I STARTED MY CAR FROM INSIDE WORK ONE DAY AND THEN MY BLUE TOOTH (MUSIC &PHONE CALLS) WOULD NOT PLAY OVER MY SPEAKERS. NO MUSIC WOULD PLAY FROM THE RADIO EITHER. THE VOLUME WOULD TURN UP AND DOWN BY ITSELF. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE RADIO ISSUES AND THEY SAID THEY COULDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TAKE IT IN SOON FOR THE 'SHIFT TO PARK' ISSUE.
THE CAR IS IN PARK BUT A WARNING POPS UP THAT'S SAYS SHIFT TO PARK AND THE CAR WON'T TURN OFF BECAUSE IT THINKS IT'S NOT IN PARK
ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 70MPH.ENGINE POWER REDUCED LIGHT CAME ON. MY SPEED DROPPED TO 20MPH. VERY SCARY ESPECIALLY WITH A CHILD IN THE CAR. GLAD IT WAS NOT HEAVY TRAFFIC. I WENT TO AUTOZONE. (ERROR CODE P2138)...I CALLED THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT AND IT IS NOT COVERED.
WHEN MY CAR CUT OFF AT THE LIGHT AND WHEN IT TRY TO START BACK UP IT STALE FOR A SECOND AND SAYS STABILIZE THEN START UP. WHEN I START THE CAR UP IT SAYS THE SAME THING. IT ERASE ALL MY FAVORITE ON THE RADIO AND RESET EVERYTHING. BEEN DOING THIS FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS NOW
THE VEHICLE ENGINE REDUCED POWER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING ABRUPT DROP IN SPEED TO LOWER THAN THE SPEED LIMIT ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND A BUMPER TO BUMPER COLLISION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT GEAR SELECTOR WAS PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION AND THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REMAINED IN OPERATION. THE CONTACT CALLED WALLY EDGAR CHEVROLET (3805 S LAPEER RD, ORION CHARTER TOWNSHIP, MI 48360) AND THE DEALER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER TRAIN WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
We have had this car since 2020 & frequently the "reduced engine power" warning comes on & the car will not/or very slowly accellortate. Along with the engine light on.We have hooked it up to a computer many times but nothing solves the issue. Lately it has been staying on constantly. Huge safety risk as my two children are in the car daily & we do take main roads/highways! When this comes on, the car will not remote start as well, also this is random in doing so, it has came on when I 1st start the car in the morning, while driving at 35mph, stopped at a light, or turn on any time I turn the car on. Doing some research and many others have had issues as well as their engines giving out at 60,000 milles (ours is at 57,000) & nothing resolved for them either. This is a huge safety issue and needs recalled. Us malibu owners should not have to pay to get this looked at constantly nor worry about owing on a car that could give out at any given time. We keep maintenance up on our car and this is the only constant issue we have that cannot be fixed.
ON, JULY 15, 2020 MY CAR GAVE A "SHIFT TO PARK"MESSAGE ON THE DASH AFTER I HAD PLACED MY CAR IN PARK. I CONTINUED TO HAVE THIS ERROR FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DEALERSHIP. THE ISSUE IS YOU ARE STRANDED IN YOUR CAR UNTIL YOU CAN WIGGLE THE GEAR SHIFT INTO PLACE SOMETIMES UPTO 20 MINUTES. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN THE PARK GEAR, HOWEVER THE CAR NEVER TURNS OFF. THE START BUTTON IS ILLUMINATED AMBER AND DINGS FOR ASSISTANCE. THIS CAN POSSIBLY DRAIN A BATTERY. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED $518.00 TO REPAIR A KNOWN GM ISSUE. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE ADMITTED TO IT AND SO DID THE SERVICE ADVISOR, I RECEIVED A "NEW" IMPROVED VERSION OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL ASSEMBLY. PROBABLY SHOULD BE A RECALL OR CLASS ACTION SUIT.
REDUCED ENGINE POWER NOTIFICATION IN MID DRIVE ON FREEWAY CAUSING CAR TO COME TO LOW SPEED IN A 70 MPH HEAVY TRAFFIC FLOW. MULTIPLE VEHICLES SWERVE TO AVOID CONTACT (ACCIDENT). UNABLE TO PULL OVER QUICKLY AS IT HAPPENED OUT OF NO WHERE. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE.

GET "SHIFT TO PARK MESSAGE" IT WONT TURN VEHICLE OFF.
RECEIVE INTERMITTENT 'SHIFT TO PARK' LIGHT ON DASHBOARD ONCE CAR IS PLACED IN PARK AND WILL NOT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. DRIVER MUST PULL SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE, THEN NEUTRAL THEN REVERSE AND BACK TO PARK BEFORE THE 'SHIFT TO PARK NOTICE SHUTS OFF' . IF NOT REPAIRED THIS CAN ULTIMATELY DRAIN BATTERY OR EVEN DAMAGE BATTERY.
