MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING (AT A STOP OR IDLING) STATIONARY
WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN PARK, A MESSAGE APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD 'SHIFT TO PARK'. IT WON'T LET MY CAR TURN OFF COMPLETELY
CAR TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY OFF AS WELL AS NO LIGHTS WERE ON. SO I COULD NOT PUT IT ON NEUTRAL TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE ROAD. I HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES WHERE IT COULD HAVE GONE BADLY. ALSO, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. CAR STILL TURNS OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON
I HAVE A 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU AND I HAVE TROUBLE PUTTING THE CAR INTO PARK. THE PROBLEM IS THE GEAR SELECTOR SWITCH. WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR FROM DRIVE INTO PARK A METAL BAR PUSHES UP ONTO A BLUE BUTTON WHICH SENDS A SIGNAL TO THE CAR'S COMPUTER THAT THE CAR IS NOW IN PARK. I SPOKE TO A DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT 2017,2018 AND 2019 MALIBU'S ARE KNOWN FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT WOULD BE $900 TO CORRECT THE DEALER KNEW WHAT IT WAS BEFORE I EVEN FINISHED TELLING THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM.I NEVER KNOW IF THE IS IN PARK
WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING THE CAR WILL SAY "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND WILL NOT LET ME ACCELERATE. THIS IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY OR MIDDLE OF THE STREET. IT HAS DONE THIS ONCE BEFORE AT A STOPLIGHT WHERE THE ENGINE TOTALLY SHUT OFF.
CAR WON'T SHIFT TO PARK, WHILE IT'S ALREADY IN PARK AND CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF. CHEVROLET SHOULD RECALL THIS BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. MY CAR WAS BRAND NEW WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND NOW I'M HAVING THIS ISSUE AND I KNOW IT'S NOTHING I HAVE DONE TO CAUSE IT.
THE CAR STALLS WHILE I'M DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS REGULAR STREETS TURNING NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAR FULL TANK PROPER OIL LEVELS ETC
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN I WAS FORCED TO GO OVER A CARDBOARD BOX THAT HAPPENED TO BE ON MY LANE. I FELT IT HIT THE UNDERSIDE OF MY CAR. A FEW MINUTES LATER, I SMELLED SMOKE AND I WAS ALSO ALERTED BY SURROUNDING DRIVERS TO PULL OVER. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND RAN OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO ABOUT 100FT AWAY. I COULD SEE FLAMES IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR. BY THE TIME I REACHED OUT TO EMERGENCY SERVICES AND THEY GOT TO THE LOCATION, THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY ON FIRE. *TR
WHEN PLACING MY CAR IN PARK, A WARNING COMES ON THAT MY CAR IS NOT IN PARK WHICH THEN CAUSES ME TO BE UNABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. I THEN HAVE TO GO THROUGH EACH GEAR AND JIGGLE THE SHIFTER NUMEROUS TIMES TO GET IT TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. THIS SOMETIMES TAKES UP TO A HALF HOUR OF SITTING IN MY VEHICLE DOING THAT. IT IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE FREQUENT, TO THE POINT IT IS SEVERAL TIMES A DAY NOW. I HAVE READ WHERE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND FEEL THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL ITEM AS IT IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOUNTAIN VIEW CHEVROLET, INC. (1079 W FOOTHILL BLVD UPLAND, CA 91786, (909) 353-7103) WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DISPLAY READ ENGINE POWER REDUCED. I WASN'T SURE WHAT THAT MEANT SO I PULLED OVER. I TRIED TO PULL OFF AND I HAD NO BRAKES. APPARENTLY SOMETHING IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM BROKE AND MY ENGINE WAS DESTROYED. I TALKED WITH GM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH THIS MODEL CAR.
ONCE MY CAR IS STOPPED AND I SHIFT TO 'P'(PARK) AND I TRY TO TURN OFF MY VEHICLE IT STILL GIVES ME THE 'SHIFT TO PARK' MESSAGE. THE SHIFT GEAR HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPLACED BY THE CAR DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER AND UNFORTUNATELY, IT STARTED TO DO IT AGAIN. IT HAS UNDER 36,000 MILES ON IT AND WE THOUGHT THE ISSUE HAD BEEN FIXED ALREADY BUT IT STARTED TO DO IT AGAIN LESS THEN A YEAR LATER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET I GOT AN ALERT ON THE DASH INDICATING 'ENGINE POWER REDUCED' CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WHAT I BELIEVE IS THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. CAN'T ACCELERATE. CAN'T GO MORE THAN 30 MPH. NO OPEN RECALLS IN MY VEHICLE, BUT SEEMS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING SAME ISSUE? *TR
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION NOT ENTERING IN PARKING , CAUSING VEHICLE TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACK IF PUT ON PARKING. THIS COULD CAUSE ACCIDENT AND SERIOUS INJURIES . THIS MIGHT BE A SENSOR OR AND ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN THE GEAR SELECTOR, BECAUSE IF YOU WIGGLE THE SELECTOR SOMETIMES IT WILL GO AWAY. VEHICLE WILL SHOW MESSAGE VEHICLE NOT IN PARKING. *TR
WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY THE SPEED CONTROL WAS ON THE CAR POWERED DOWN ALMOST MADE US WRECK AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY THE POWER DOWN ALERT THE CAR WAS DRAGGING IN SPEED AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE. THERE IS ONLY 35000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR
IT KEEPS GIVING THE SHIFT TO PARK WHEN THE VEHICLE ITS IN FULL PARK ALREADY.
AUTO STOP JUST STOPED WORKING ALSO WHEN I PUT IT ON PARK IT SHOWS 'SHIFT TO PARK' BUT THE VEHICLE IS ON PARK ALREADY. *TR
CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. WITH NO ENGINE LIGHT ON. ENGINE LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON EVERY OTHER WEEK. TPS DOESN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY. IDLES HIGH SOME DAYS THEN DRIVES NORMALLY. SENSORS WAS CHANGED ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON A WEEK LATER WITH SAME CODE VACUUM SENSOR, MAF,
THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT IT DOES IT SOMETIMES A FEW TIMES A DAY. *TR
ON 4/5/2020, WHILE DRIVING ON A SIDE STREET, THE CAR LOST PROPULSION. IT READ ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED AND STABILITRAC HAD ACTIVATED. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR. MY VERY FIRST ENCOUNTER WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY (I-270) THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED (PER RECALL) ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. IT HAS DONE THE VERY EXACT THING AT LEAST THREE (3) TIMES SUBSEQUENT OF THE RECALL MANDATE. EVERY TIME I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR THE MOTOR WILL VIOLENTLY SHAKE. I HAVE MADE THIS COMPLAINT TO GENERAL MOTORS, PRIOR TO THIS LATEST EVENT ON 4/5/2020, MY COMPLAINT HAD BEEN DISMISSED. I AM BEING FORCED TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE; KNOWING IT POSES A SERIOUS RISK OF ACCIDENT OR DEATH TO ME AND OTHER MOTORIST. LUCKILY, I WAS ON A SIDE RESIDENTIAL STREET A FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM MY RESIDENCE. HOWEVER, THIS WAS NOT THE ALWAYS THE CASE AND THIS IS A CONTINUOUS EVENT. I LIVE WITHIN A 3/4-MILE RADIUS OF BALTIMORE'S SEA-PORT, TRAIN & TRUCK TERMINAL AS WELL AS INTERSTATES I-895 & I-95'S (HARBOR AND FORT MCHENRY TUNNEL). I TRAVEL THE I-895 TUNNEL TO WORK EVERYDAY. AFTER SEVERAL RECALL ATTEMPTS TO FIX, THIS CAR IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING. WHEREAS, WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS, IT LOSES ENGINE POWER AND STALLS WHILE IN MOTION. INCLUDED ARE ONSTAR ONBOARD DIAGNOSIS REPORTS AND SERVICE RECORDS AFTER THE INITIAL RECALL SERVICING OF THE CAR.
SHIFT TO PARK APPEARS WHEN CAR IS DEFINITELY IN PARK ALREADY
MY CAR REDUCED ITS ENGINE POWER AND SLOWED DOWN FROM 60 MILES DOWN TO 20 MILES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGH WAY WITH A TANK TRUCK BEHIND ME. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO SCARED IN MY LIFE. THE ENGINE REDUCED ITS POWER THREE TIMES NOW! I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS AND THE ISSUE WAS FIXED BUT CLEARLY IT WASN'T! I HAVE CHILDREN AND I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE MY CAR NOW BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!!
THE RECALL ECM CAUSED ENGINE TO STALL AS I WAS DRIVING UP A HILL, I ACCELERATED TO MAKE UP FOR THE DELAY AND VEERED INTO A PARKED CAR CAUSING MY CAR TO OVER TURN ON THE HOOD. I WAS INJURED AND CAR RENDERED TOTALLED. THIS WAS MY SECOND ACCIDENT. I WAS SIDESTEPPED ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING DAMAGE TO MY ENTIRE SIDE OF VEHICLE. ALSO HAD NEAR ACCIDENTS ON HIGHWAY WHEN CAR LOST POWER DUE TO ECM MALFUNCTION. (RECALL ISSUE THAT WAS LOOKED AT BUT NEVER RESOLVED). I HAVE PHOTOS AVAILABLE. I HAVE ASKED VARIOUS DDEPARTMENTS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND GM FINANCIAL FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THIS ISSUE BUT TO NO AVAIL.
CAR ENGINE WILL NOT TURN OVER. SYSTEM SAYS 'ENGINE POWER REDUCE' AND 'SERVICE STABILITRAK.' BRAKE CLICKS AND LOCKS WHEN BEEN PRESSED DOWN, STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKS.
While driving high speed such as are on the highway vehicle jerks and has gotten worse now so aggressively it almost jerks from my grip to the left. It’s without notice and over correcting at those speed could cause my vehicle to roll, or jerking into on coming traffic or into another vehicle to the left of me and the direction each time it’s occurred it’s jerked to the left. I’ve previously blamed it on the road or the wind when it’s happened since I’ve had it now almost 5 years. Now it’s getting so bad I’m afraid of my safety and others in my vehicle or other drivers I might be thrown into when it jerks violently and without warning. This is my only form of transportation and I owe money left in the vehicle and feel I’m being put in harms ways as well as other that could be impacted in my vehicle or other drivers.
WARNING MESSAGES LIGHT UP "STEERING POWER IS DIMINISHED, DRIVE WITH CARE", SOMETHING PERTAINING TO BRAKES AND BATTERY, THE WARNINGS FLASH SO QUICKLY I CAN'T READ THEM ALL. THE CAR GOES DEAD WHEN I STOP, SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY WITH DASH LIGHTS GOING COMPLETELY OUT, THEN A VERY SLOW RESTART AS THE LIGHTS BRIGHTEN VERY SLOWLY. AFTER THE THIRD TIME YESTERDAY AND TODAY I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN "PARK FOR IT TO RESTART AT A STOP LIGHT AND NOW IT WILL NOT START AT ALL,
AS I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY AND STOPED ON THE OFF RAMP, I TRIED TO STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL TO GO BUT MY CAR DID NOT WANT TO GO. MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED, MY BLUETOOTH CUT OFF, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I TURNED ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND PUT MY CAR IN PARK. I TRIED TO SHUT IT OFF BUT IT DIDN'T SHUT OFF RIGHT AWAY. I PUSHED THE OFF BUTTON A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT FINALLY SHUT OFF. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, I DROVE TO TH E NEAREST PARKING LOT AND PUT IT IN PARK. ONLY THIS TIME, THE MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARK" POPPED UP. MY VEHICLE WAS ALREADY SHIFTED TO PARK BUT THE SYSTEM OBVIOUSLY COULDN'T COMPREHEND. MY CAR ONLY HAS 61,845 MILES!! IT SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES SO SOON!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN CHEVROLET DEALER, LOCATED IN CHESTER, VA, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHOCKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT IT WAS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE THE SHOCKS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEEDS OF UP TO 80 MPH AT RANDOM TIMES THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY SLOW ITSELF DOWN TO 20 MPH AND THE DASH WILL MESSAGE THAT ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. IT'S A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT IS DANGEROUS TO NOT ONLY THE PEOPLE IN THE VEHICLE BUT ALL OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD ALSO.
ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED WARNING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ANTI SKID WARNINGS COME ON.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY I BEGAN TO LOOSE SPEED AND MY ENGINE CHECK LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR SAID ENGINE POWER REDUCED. I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS.
MY WIFE PURCHASED A NEW 2018 CHEVY MALIBU ON JULY 3, 2018. IN OCTOBER 2019, WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE (N192221960) INFORMING MY WIFE THE MALIBU HAD A SAFETY ISSUE. THE NOTICE STATED: "THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL AT SPEED AND WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.' CONCERNED, I HEEDED THE WARNING. SINCE THEN THIS CAR BUT OUR LIVES AT RISK TWO TIMES. EACH TIME ANOTHER PART WAS REPLACED NUMEROUS MALIBU OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS TERROR AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO GM AND THE DEALER TO NO EFFECT. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. IT IS PAST TIME FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN MOTION, I LOST POWER AND RECEIVED MESSAGE IN MESSAGE BOX THAT STATES, ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. I WAS ONLY DOING 30 AND THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC BUT THE ENGINE BOGGING DOWN WHILE GOING UP HILL COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DEAR [XXX], AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM IN YOUR 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU HAS BEEN DETECTED. The contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that after parking and turning the vehicle off, several electrical features remained activated including the radio and the infotainment touchscreen. Additionally, the message "Shift to Park" was displayed. The contact stated that due to the failure, the battery was drained, and the vehicle could not be immediately restarted. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 38,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING A 2018 CHEVROLET MALIBU AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED AS POWER WAS REDUCED CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V642000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, ENGINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL BODY SHOP. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,447.
AT A STOP LIGHT, WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN, PRESSED ACCELERATOR, "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" MESSAGED FLASHED, ENGINE AND TRACTION LIGHTS CAME ON. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 25MPH, RPM WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 3. RECALL MAINTENANCE FOR ECM WAS COMPLETED ON 01/11/2020.
LOW FUEL, ENGINE LIGHT, SERVICE STABILITY TRACK, SHIFT TO PARK LIGHTS COME ON. THE LOW FUEL LIGHT COMES ON FIRST. THE NEXT DAY THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON SOMETIMES IT STAYS ON THEN GOES OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING. I'VE HAD ALL THE RECALLS DONE. ECM REPLACED. 2 WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING. ALL DIALS GO TO ZERO. SLOW TAKE OFF AFTER I'VE STOPPED AT RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. IS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. IF I PUT ON BRAKES THEY WILL THROW ME IN THE DASH LIKE I'VE CRASHED INTO SOMETHING. WHEN I TAKE IT DEALERSHIP-NO CODES ARE FOUND. TRYING TO TURN CAR OFF, IT SAYS SHIFT TO PARK. IT'S ALREADY PARKED. I'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS SAME PROBLEMS-NO CODES. I'VE GOTTEN A RENTAL (FOR A WEEK)SO THEY CAN KEEP THE CAR TO TRY AND RECREATE IT- THEY CAN'T. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW IN AUGUST OF 2018.CHEVY MALIBULS 4DR SDN BLACK. THE DATE BELOW "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" OUTS THE LATEST DATE.
AFTER MY 'RECALL' REPROGRAMMING UPDATE ON THE ECM... A MONTH OR 2 LATER, I STARTED TO HAVE LOSS OF POWER ISSUES WHILE DRIVING. GOT HOME IT SAT FOR A COUPLE OF MINS, THEN WENT AWAY. HAPPENED AGAIN. HAD MY CAR SCANNED TO SEE WHAT THE CODE WAS, AN 'APPS' P2138 CODE, ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR ISSUE. IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, WHEN IT HAPPENS CRUSE CONTROL TURNS OFF, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON PLUS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHILE TRYING TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC... THIS HAD HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES... FIRST TIME WAS AFTER A LONG DAY DRIVING, THEN A FEW DAYS LATER AFTER A VERY COLD NIGHT. THEN NOTHING, SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES NO ISSUE. THEN DROVE 120 MILES AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 2-13-2020. AND TWICE TODAY 2-21-20202. IT ONLY HAPPENED TWICE DURING A TURN.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BOTH ON, REDUCED ENGINE POWER, SPEED AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING LIMITED, CANT GO PASS 3 GEAR. STARTED RANDOMLY ON NUMEROUS OCCASION WHILE DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS.
POWER STEERING REDUCING AND THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF TEMPORARILY I HAD MY CAR SERVICED FOR THIS ALREADY 2 WEEKS AGO FOR THE SAME PROBLEM NOW IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN

WHILE DRIVING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND CONTROL PANEL SAYS ENGINE POWER REDUCED. THE CAR SLOWS DOWN AND YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE.THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE I HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR AND TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHILE ACCELERATING.
The contact's niece owns a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who performed unknown repairs on the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
WELL I GOT IN A WRECK YESTERDAY AROUND 4 PM IN CITY LIMITS IN BUMPER-TO-BUMPER TRAFFIC AND THE LADY HAD STOP SOMEWHAT ABRUPTLY SO I HAD TO STOP ABRUPTLY AND MY BRAKES LOCKED UP ON ME AND THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME AT THESE BRAKES HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE JUST A SECOND WREAK I'VE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE IN EIGHT MONTHS AND I DON'T HAVE WRECKED VEHICLES THIS IS ALL NEW SO I WANT TO GET MY CAR CHECKED OUT SEE IF THERE'S SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING WITH MY BRAKES BECAUSE BOTH TIMES THE BRAKES LOCKED UP ON ME WHEN THEY SHOULD'VE STOPPED BECAUSE I WASN'T GOING TO FAST
FAULTY SENSOR ON MY CAR ALMOST CAUSED ME TO LOSE NY LIFE ON THE HIGHWAY TODAY. WHILE DRIVING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I GOT THE MESSAGE ' ENGIND POWER REDUCED ' CAR WOULD NOT LET ME ACCELERATE , HIT A WALL ON THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY RUSHING TO SAFETY I NOW HAVE A DENT IN MY CAR , SAD PART IS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM! WE ARE ALSO GETTING A ' SHIFT TO PARK ' ERROR MESSAGE WHICH IS ANOTHER ISSUE , THAT THE DEALER SAID I HAD TO PAY FOR‼️ RIDICULOUS ABOUT TO CONTACT A LAWYER CHEVROLET HAS NO REGAURD FOR HUMAN LIFE.
Vehicle will not shut off when in park. Vehicle displays a "Park to Shift" message although Vehicle is in park. This causes the vehicle to not shut down completely and if it takes to long to shut off the battery will die. It can take anywhere from 2 minutes to all day to get it to shut off. This is a known problem among many GM Chevy owners and needs to be recognized as a recall. This issue happens everytime vehicle is shut off and put in to park which can be frustrating.
THE EXCELLARATOR SENSOR IS BAD AND KEEPS POWERING DOWN ENGINE EVEN ON THE FREEWAY
WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE INTO PARK VEHICLE WILL GIVE MESSAGE SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK WHEN IT CLEARLY IS IN PARK. I SOMETIMES HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF OR MESS WITH THE GEAR SHIFT FOR A LITTLE WHILE FOR THE MESSAGE TO FINALLY GO BECAUSE THE VEHICLE ITSELF WILL NOT POWER OFF UNTIL THE MESSAGE GOES AWAY. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND CHEVY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ASAP! THESE ARE BRAND NEW CARS THAT ARE DOING THIS AND THERE SHOULDN'T BE ANY ISSUES WITH IT BEING A BRAND NEW CAR. THEY NEED TO MAKE IT A SERVICE BULLTIN AND OR RECALL.
