WHILE BACKING UP POWER STEERING PUMP BROKE, UNABLE TO STEER OR BRAKE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING WAS HIT HEAD-ON BY ANOTHER VEHICLE AND BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGERS AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30MPH ,AND THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40-50MPH.*AK THERE WERE 2 INJURIEES. *YH
THE SHIFT LEVER SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING AND THE ENGINE WAS REVVING. THE DEALER REPLACED A WORN OUT BEARING AND SEAL BUT THE CONSUMER IS STILL CONCERNED. *YH *CB
DEALER CONFIRMED BY INSPECTION THAT ABS PUMP NEEDS REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF ABOUT $700.00 I DID NOT HAVE THE REPAIR DONE DUE TO THE COST.*AK

BRAKES LIGHT CAME ON ,AND COULD NOT STOP TRUCK. CONSUMER'S SON HAD TO START SLOWING TRUCK DOWN A LONG DISTANT BEFORE REACHING OTHER TRAFFIC.*AK
TAILGATE HAS FALLEN OFF WHILE DRIVING,AT 20 MPH AND 30-35 MPH. NO ACCIDENT.*AK
WHILE VEHICLE WAS INSIDE OF THE DEALERSHIP BEING CHECKED RACK AND PINION STEERING STARTED LEAKING FLUID FROM STEERING COMPARTMENT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, LEFT TIRE ON A 2000, CHEVROLET, SILVERADO HAD A SIDEWALL BLOWOUT. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, TIRE SIZE P265/75R16, DOT# W273WMB170. FIRESTONE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME.*AK. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE TIRE WAS PUNCTURED FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE SIDEWALL.*JB
'THE PADS RUSTED TO THE ROTORS, DESTROYING THE ROTORS. I HAD TO HAVE ALL THE ROTORS AND PADS REPLACED. SINCE THEN HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE PADS AND ROTORS TWO MORE TIMES. I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR CALIPERS AND THE BACKING PLATES AT LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE ABS SENSORS AND GREASE BOOT S ON THE FRONT AXELS. REPLACED THE UNIVERSAL JOINT, THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SWITCHES TWICE, THE POWER WINDOW MECHANISMS, THE TAIL GATE STRAPS AND THE LEVER--WHICH ISN'T WORKING RIGHT AGAIN, THE GAS TANK STRAP, RUSTY FUEL LINES AND BRAKE LINES, AND THE DIFFERENTIAL COVER THAT RUSTED OUT. ALSO THE AIR CONDITIONING PULLEY. *TR
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP VEHICLE JUST STOPPED MOVING IN DRIVE, THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT THE CONSUMER HAD NO CONTROL OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL NOR DID ANY INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD, A 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC AND ONLY 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WOULD OPERATE, VEHICLE FINALLY COASTED TO A STOP AND THE CONSUMER MANAGED TO PLAY AROUND WITH GEARS WELL ENOUGH TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME. PROBLEM WAS DUE TO GEARS SPLIT WHICH GRINDED ALL THE TEETH. CHEVROLET WAS CONTACTED. *AK *NLM

1ST PCM BROKE AT 19735 MILES IN WYTHEVILLE VIRGINA WAS ABLE TO LIMP TO DEALER THEY REPLACED THE PCM AND CAM SENSOR. 2ND TIME AT DOUGLAS GA. THEY REPLACED THE PCM AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR .I PULL A 5TH WHEEL AND THE 2 ND TIME I HAD JUST PUT IN TO A CAMP SITE AND WAS GOING TO TOWN WHEN IT QUIT IN THE CAMP ROAD DOING ABOUT 20 I HAD TO CALL FOR A TOW TO CHEVROLET DEALER . NOTE BOTH DEALERS WERE EXCELLENT . I WAS LUCKY I DID NOT HAVE THE CAMPER ON. IS THIS A PROUBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK?*AK

CONSUMER STATES THAT THE HORN BUTTON HAS TO BE PIVOTTED UP AND THE STEERING WHEEL HAS TO BE AT TWELVE OCLOCK IN ORDER FOR THE HORN TO SOUND, HEAT SHIELDS RATTLE UNDER VEHICLE WHEN TRAVELING OVER BUMPS, DEALER MADE ADJUSTMENTS.*SCC

WHILE IN MOTION, CONSUMER WAS MAKING A A LEFT TURN WHEN THE A POPPING SOUND WAS HEARD AND IMMEDIATELY THE STEERING WENT OUT. CONSUMER TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHEVY GARAGE AND THE VACUUM PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JG *DT
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE UNDERGOING A STATE INSPECTION, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PADS WERE WORN. WHEN PLACED INTO NEUTRAL WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS APPLIED, THE VEHICLE STILL MOVED FORWARD. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 160,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. UPDATED 5/19/08 *CN UPDATED 05/19/08

TRANSMISSION CLUNKS INTO GEAR..HAD IT SEVICED BUT THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT WE HAVE TWO SILVERADO TRUCKS DOING THE SAME THING
ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS AT FIRST START, CONSUMER HAS TO PRESS DOWN HARD TO GET IT TO UNSTICK, THEN VEHICLE WILL SURGE FORWARD. DEALER REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. *AK CONSUMER ADDS HAD TO REPLACED U-JOINTS THAT WERE MAKING A SQUEAKING NOISE. *TT
WHILE PULLING INTO MAIN HIGHWAY, ACCELERATOR PEDAL STUCK AND CAUSED VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE OUT OF CONTROL. VEHICLE HIT A TREE BEFORE STOPPING, CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TO KICK THE GAS PEDAL TO GET THE PEDAL UNSTUCK. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED AT THIS TIME, ONE PERSON WAS INJURED. *AK *JG
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE SERVICE WHEN THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED TO ACTIVATE. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A CONCRETE WALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 00V055000: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT NEED THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
PARKING BRAKE HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY WEAK EVEN WHEN PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THE LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT IS FULLY TIGTENED. *AK
CONSUMER'S HUSBAND LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE AND HIT A BUILDING. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE FACE INJURIES. HAD TO HAVE TOP LIP COMPLETELY REPLACED.*AKJLG
THROTTLE LINKAGE HAS BEEN STICKING SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW. DEALER WAS UNCOOPERATIVE AND WANTED TO BLAME ISSUE ON MAINTENANCE OF VEHICLE AND CHARGE $100 FOR CHANGING FUEL FILTER, WHICH IS UNRELATED TO FAILURE. *AK

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,500. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 2/21/12 *CN
WHILE DRIVING OUT OF DRIVEWAY, CONSUMER APPLIED BRAKES AND ABS DID NOT KICK IN. DEALER CONTACTED.*AK. CONSUMER SKIDDED ONTO HIGHWAY, VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC, AND A NEW ABS MIDULE AND SOLENOID WAS NEEDED.*JG
MY SON REAR ENDED CAR IN FRONT OF HIM. BRYCE PASSENGER FRONT TEETH WERE KNOCKED OUT. THEY WERE GOING 40MPH THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. BRYCE (14) IS DIABETIC AND HIS DENTAL BILLS WILL BE COSTLY AND HIS HEALTH ISSUE WILL EFFECT HIS TREATMENT.*AK
WAS DRIVING 40MPH AND STARTED TO APPLY BRAKES WHEN VEHICLE SLID ON WET/ SLIPPERY ROAD,AND REARENDED VEHICLE IN FRONT. UPON IMPACT, FRONT AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY.*AK
I TOOK DELIVERY OF MY TRUCK ON 6/1/00 AND REALIZE THAT IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. BUT I HAVE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR BRAKES. THE REAR CALIPERS FREEZE UP SUDDENLY, CAUSE THE PADS TO WEAR DOWN TO THE METAL AND THEN DESTROY THE ROTORS. THE PROBLEM ALWAYS SEAMS TO START AT THE RIGHT REAR INNER PAD. BY THE TIME YOU NOTICE A PROBLEM, THE DAMAGE IS SEVERE. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED AT 29,171 MILES, THE DEALERSHIP INITIALLY WOULD NOT, BUT EVENTUALLY DID (AFTER I TOLD THEM I WOULD ACCEPT NOTHING LESS) REPAIR IT N/C ON 1/16/02 (INVOICE OLCS67487). THEY REPLACED THE PADS, TURNED THE ROTORS BUT DIDN'T REPLACE THE CALIPERS. THEY BLAMED THE PROBLEM ON MUD INTRUSION. THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED AT 55,421 MILES, THE RIGHT REAR INNER PAD WAS THE WORST AGAIN, BUT I DIDN'T CATCH IT IN TIME AND BOTH REAR ROTORS WERE DESTROYED. THIS TIME IT COST ME NEARLY $530.00 TO REPAIR THE REAR BRAKES ON 5/27/03 (INVOICE 84481) AT BONUS TIRE IN STERLING HEIGHTS. PADS, ROTORS AND CALIPERS WERE REPLACED. CALIPERS WERE FROZEN. ONE THING THAT REALLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE IS THAT THE FRONT BRAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN CHANGED! THEY ARE FACTORY ORIGINAL! THE TRUCK HAS CURRENTLY 63,400 MILES AND AT THE LAST TIRE ROTATION, DONE ABOUT 3,000 MILES AGO, THEY WERE AT ABOUT 40%. GM WILL DO NOTHING FOR ME! THE DEALER FIXED THE BRAKES THEMSELVES THE FIRST TIME, BUT WOULDN'T THE NEXT TIME. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS NO RECALL CONCERNING THESE BRAKES, BUT THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE REAR BRAKES ON THE SILVERADO. I HAVE HEARD THIS FROM NOT ONLY SERVICE GARAGES AND PARTS SUPPLIERS, BUT ALSO FROM GM DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGERS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THE DEALERSHIP CAN DO FOR ME. THEY SAY THAT THERE IS A GM REAR BRAKE PROBLEM, BUT SO FAR, GM IS BLAMING IT ON A LACK OF OWNER MAINTENANCE. I WAS TOLD THAT A POSSIBLE FIX IS OFFERED BY GM (AT A CHARGE) FOR A FORWARD MUD FLAP / DEFLECTOR FOR THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL. *LA
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION-CHANGING HARD- THIS IS THE SECOND GM TRUCK PRODUCT THAT I HAVE OWNED AND THE SECOND ONE THAT HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.
I OWN A 2000 CHEVY SILVERADO. THE UPPER INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT IS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED PER SERVICE BULLETIN 00-02-35-003J IN JAN. 2002. PROBLEMS WITH CHATTERS AND ERRATIC STEERING PERFORMANCE HAVE CONTINUED AND GM STATES THAT THEY PLAN TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT NEVER HAVE. THEIR RECOMMENDATION IS TO GREASE THE SHAFT...WHICH ONLY HELPS FOR A FEW THOUSAND MILES AND THEN THE CHATTER AND ERRATIC STEERING PERFORMANCE RETURNS. IT'S A DISTRACTION WHICH DRIVING AND IN MY OPINION COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO QUESTION WHETHER THE CURRENT SHAFT IS STRONG ENOUGH IN THE EVENT OF A RIGOROUS STEERING MANEUVER. GM HAS DRAGGED IT'S FEET ON THIS AND IT'S TIME AN OUTSIDE AGENCY LOOKED INTO IT AND INSISTED THAT GM RECALL THE VEHICLE AND DEVELOP A PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. SUCH ERRATIC PERFORMANCE IN MY OPINION IS A DISTRACTION THAT COULD CONTRIBUTE TO AN ACCIDENT AND THE SHAFT COULD STRIP OR FRACTURE AS WELL IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS ACCORDING TO CERTAIN MECHANICS I'VE TALKED WITH. *JB
TRUCK STARTED VIBRATING,TOOK A TIRE TO A FIRESTONE DEALER,THEY SAID THAT HAPPENS WHEN TIRES AREN"T ROTATED PROPERLY, I WORK AT A AUTO SERVICE REPAIR CENTER,AND MY TIRES ARE ROTATED EVERY 6000 MI FAITHFULLY, SO I DISAGREE.*AK (TIRESIZE: P265R75R16)

PROBLEM IS PERSISTENT. BRAKE LIGHT IS NOT ON OR ABS LIGHT. HAPPENS IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS. (4 WHEEL ANTILOCK). VEHICLE IS REGULARLY SERVICED, SERVICE RECORDS AVAILABLE. PARKING BRAKE, THREE YEARS AGO PARKING BRAKE FAILED COMPLETELY. DEALER REPAIRED. THE PROBLEM RETURNES ABOUT EVERY 3-4 MONTHS. LAST SUMMER PARKING BRAKE FAILED, AND VEHICLE ROLLED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE CONTACT WAS IN GAS STATION.*AK
THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE FAILED CAUSING THREE INCHES OF LOOSENESS UP AND DOWN, LEFT AND RIGHT ON BOTH WHEELS, SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD EXCEEDED THE 36000 MILE WARRANTY BY 2000 MILE THE CONSUMER HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIRS, THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE SAFETY RELATED PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BE INSPECTED. THIS IS WHEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED THAT THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS THREE INCHES OF LOOSENESS UP AND DOWN, LEFT AND RIGHT ON BOTH WHEEL BECAUSE OF BEARING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY AGREED THAT THE BEARING WERE WORN. THE VEHICLE HAD EXCEEDED THE 36000 MILE WARRANTY BY ABOUT 200 MILES, THEREFORE THE CONSUMER HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONSUMER WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO GREASE FITTINGS WHICH IS WHY THE BEARINGS HAD TO BE REPLACED. *SCC MANIFOLD/GASKET LEAKED DUE TO POOR DESIGN. *NM
MY 4X4 ,6.0 LITER 3/4 TON SILVERADO HAS A STICKY GAS PEDAL. THE PROBLEM MAKES THE TRUCK LEAP FORWARD AND I HAD JUST AVERTED HITTING VEHICLES NUMEROUS TIMES. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT LAST FOR LONG. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THE DEALER AS IT HAS 50,000 MILES NOW. *JB
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS ARE FAILING. HAVE TWO BOLTS ON DRIVERS SIDE WERE THE HEAD HAS POPPED OFF THE BOLT AND NOW THERE IS A MAJOR EXHAUST LEAK. *NM
