2000 CHEVY SILVERADO BRAKES WERE SQUEALING. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE REAR INSIDE BRAKE PAD WAS THE ONLY ONE WORN. MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY ICE AND DIRT COLLECTED IN THE CALIPER. *KB CONSUMER SENT IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IN A VOQ. *KB UPDATED 04/14/08. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED ON 3 OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE LOST TRACTION WHILE DRIVING ON ICY ROADS . THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE REASON FOR THE TRACTION LOSS, WAS DUE TO THE BRAKE PAD HANGING UP. *JB
TREAD HAS BEGUN TO SEPARATE FROM TIRE CASEING. HAIRLINE SPLIT IS NOW VISABLE WHERE TREAD IS BONDED TO TIRE CASSING. OTHER TIRES STILL NOT AFFECTED. DEALER, AND CHEVROLET REFUSE TO REPLACE. SAY THIS TIRE NOT AFFECTED BY DEFECT. GM CLAIMS THERE TIRES MADE TO HIGHER STANDARD. THEN THOSE FOR FORD. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, AND FEAAR FOR THERE SAFTEY IN THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 50MPH ON HIGHWAY AND WAS APPROACHING A DIP IN THE ROAD, WENT ACROSS THE DIP, AND IMMEDIATELY HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM LEFT WHEEL. VEHICLE FELT LIKE LEFT SIDE WENT DOWN.HE TURNED STEERING WHEEL RIGHT, AND VEHICLE DIDN'T TURN. VEHICLE JUST LOCKED DOWN IN POSITION. WENT INTO A WATER DITCH, HIT ENBANKMENT, AND WENT UP TO THE ENBANKMENT. WHEEL LUGS, BOLT: NUTS CAME OFF. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. *AK TIE ROD ON DRIVERSIDE BROKE. *YH
ON 09/27/2000 I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A DIP,WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. AS I CROSSED THE HIT THE DIP AND/OR JUST AFTER THE DIP, I HEARD A NOISE COME FROM THE LEFT FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF TRUCK. AT THE SAME TIME THE LEFT FRONT OF TRUCK DROPPED A LITTLE. I WAS STILL ROLLING AND DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING WAS WRONG, SO I ROLLED ON ABOUT 100 FT. TO A RIGHT CURVE. WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE VEHICLE IT ONLY TURNED FROM A 2 OCLOCK POSITION TO A 4 OCLOCK POSITION. TRUCK WENT INTO DITCH, AND STOPPED ON THE OTHER SIDE. THE FRONT WHEEL WAS BROKEN OFF WITH LUG NUTS, STUDS, AND OTHER PIECES OF METAL STILL IN THE LEFT FRONT TIRE UNDER THE TRUCK. WHEN THE WRECKER CAME, I GOT INTO THE TRUCK TO TRY TO GUIDE IT AS THEY PULLED IT OUT. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES BEFORE I TRIED TO START THE TRUCK, AND THERE WAS NO BRAKE PRESSURE AT ALL. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. THE TIE ROD HAD SNAPPED AT THE KNUCKLE, BUT 80 % WAS SHINE AND ABOUT 20% WAS TARNISHED AND GREASE LOOING LIKE THE TIE ROD HAD BEEN CRACKED A LONG TIME. ON YOUR SEARCH ENGINE SITE FOR RECALLS THE ONLY 3500 IS LISTED AS 3500HD. IN THE YEAR 2000 CHEVROLET DIDN'T MAKE A 3500HD. THEY ONLY MADE 3500'S THAT HAD SOME HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT ON THEM, SUCH AS HEAVY DUTY TRANSMISSION, ETC.*AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE BETWEEN 40-45MPH, IT WOULD MAKE A ROARING NOISE. SOMETIMES VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE OR SHAKE. MOST NOTICEABLE AFTER 40MPH. BEEN IN CONTACT WITH DEALERSHIP & INFORMED NO SOLUTION TO PROBLEM. ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON PROBLEM. ALSO INFORMED CONSUMER THAT SOUND WAS BECAUSE ENGINE WAS NEAR TRANSMISSION. *AK
TIRE WALLS SEPARATED DUE TO PARTIAL DEFLATION FROM SLOW LEAKING PUNCTURE/ TIRE WAS NOT DRIVEN ON THE SIDEWALLS COMPLETE DEFLATION OCCURRED WHILE PARKED....TIRE EXPERTS AND INSURANCE AGENT EXAMINED AND AGREED THAT THE TIRE WAS NOT DRIVEN ON SIDEWALLS AND RIM....THE TIRE DEVELOPED SEVERE BULGES ON SIDEWALLS AND IN TREAD UPON REINFLATION......TIRE IS STILL IN MY POSSESSION FOR EXAMINATION. *AK (TIRESIZE: P265/75R16)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P265/75R16 )
CONSUMER STATES THE REAR BRAKE SHOES ARE WEARING PREMATURELY. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY CANT FIND PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAS HAD SIX SETS OF BRAKES WITHIN A COUPLE OF YEARS. *JB *YH
I CONTACTED SARAH SCHILLE OF GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THIS FAILURE.SHE SENT AN INVESTIGATOR TO TOM BENSON TO LOOK AT THE TRUCK. HE DID WHATEVER HE DOES TO COLLECT DATA FROM THE VEHICLE AND THEN TAKES PICTURES ETC. AND SENDS ALL OF THE INFORMATION TO GM FOR EVALUATION. I FEEL THIS ACCIDENT WAS SEVERE ENOUGH FOR THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY AND I'M NOT SATISFIED AT ALL WITH GM'S RESPONSE TO THE SITUATION. I REQUESTED THE REPORT AND A COPY OF THE DEPLOYMENT CRITERIA FOR THE AIRBAGS I WAS TOLD THAT INFORMATION WILL NOT BE SUPPLIED. HOW AM I TO KNOW IF THIS IS A FAILURE OR NOT. THIS INFORMATION SHOULD NOT BE PRIVATE TO THE MANUFACTURER ONLY. I WANT SOMEONE TO LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM.
THE ABS SYSTEM OPERATES AT LOW SPEEDS (5 TO 10 MPH) ON DRY PAVEMENT RESULTING IN EXTREMELY LONG STOPPING DISTANCES. I CALLED MY DEALER AND THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THEY CLAM THAT IT IS DUE TO A BATCH OF FAULTY SENSORS THAT GM WAS SUPPLIED. SO WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER GET LEFT HOLDING THE BAG. WHY IS NO RECALL BEING DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. I FEEL THAT AN INVESTIGATION IS STRONGLY NEEDED. THIS IS OVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURE DEFECT (EXTREMELY WIDESPREAD). *AK
TIRE FAILED AT LOW SPEED ON DIRT ROAD DUE TO ROCK PUSHING THROUGH STEEL BELTS IN CENTER OF TIRE. VEHICLE WAS LESS THAN 10% LOADED (NO EXTRA WEIGHT IN BED) (TIRESIZE: 265 75 16)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 265 75 16 )
SEAT BACK HAS 1/2" INCH OF PLAY WITH SEAT BELT FASTENED.
THE FUEL TANK FILL NECK IS LACKING THE PROPER RUST INHIBITING COATINGS THIS THEN IS CAUSING THE METAL NECK WHERE THE FILL NOZZLE ENTERS TO RUST OUT.. THIS CAUSES GAS VAPORS TO ESCAPE THE FUEL TANK. ALSO THE GROUND STRAP IS OF POOR CONSTRUCTION. THIS THEN CORRODES INTO DUST... THESE FACTS WILL ON AN UNSUSPECTING VEHICLE OWNER CAUSE A POTENTIAL EXPLOSION/FIRE WHEN REFUELING... *TR
DRIVELINE - TRANSMISION OR DRIVESHAFT OR REAR END HAS EXTEAME SLACK. VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN TAKING OF IN FORWARD OR REVERSE CAUSING THE VEHICLE SURGE (OR JUMP FORWARD OR BACKWARD)CREATING A SITUATION THAT IS UNSAFE, SERIOUSLY IMACTS THE DRIVEABLITY AND DRAMATICALLY REDUCES THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS "COLD" THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT "SHOW AS BAD AS IT DOES AFTER THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO. THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT (RON HUE MGR.) WILL NOT ACKNOLEDGE THE PROBLEM ALTHOUGH THE DEALERS SALES MANAGER (JEFF SAUER, SALES MGR.) DID DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND HAS ACKNOLEDGED THAT THE PROBLEM EXISTS. THIS PROBLEM IS ONE THAT IS AT IT'S WORST WHEN TRYING TO PARK OR MENUVER IN TIGHT SPACES. A $32,000 TRUCK SHOULD NOT DO THIS AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FIX THE PROBLEM! AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND COUNTLESS PHONE CALLS - NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE!! PLEASE HELP!!*AK
CONSUMER WAS EXPERIENCING IRREGULAR RIDING AND PULLING AT ALL SPEEDS, VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR ALIGNMENT AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT TREAD AND BELTING WERE SEPARATING, CONSUMER CALLED FIRESTONE IN EARLY SEPTEMBER 1999 AND WAS ADVISED THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE TIRES HE HAD BUT FIRESTONE WAS CONTEMPLATING AN EXPANSION, CONSUMER HAS REPLACED ALL 5 FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT (P265/75R16) TIRES. *JB
ON SEPT. 9TH OF THIS YEAR I HAD A 2000 CHEVROLET PICKUP TO CATCH FIRE ON ME AS I WAS DRIVING IT TO THE BANK. I LIVE IN A VERY RURAL AREA AND THE ROADS ARE CURVY. BY-STANDERS AND THE PEOPLE AT THE BANK WERE KIND ENOUGH TO HAVE THE FIRE PUT OUT BEFORE THE HAYSI FIRE DEPT. ARRIVED.*AK
WHILE COMING DOWN A STEEL HILL TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP, FOOT WENT TO THE FLOOR, AND NOTHING HAPPENED. FELT VIBRATION IN THE BRAKE. ONCE ON THE FREEWAY, AND SAW BRAKE LIGHTS AHEAD, CONSUMER TRIED TO BRAKE AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. IF ANY CLOSER, CONSUMER WOULD HAVE REAR ENDED ANOTHER DRIVER. *AK
DRIVER HAD LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE HIT A TELEPHONE POLE HEAD-ON WITH A 50-65 MPH IMPACT, AND THEN DROVE INTO A FIELD . UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, BUT SEATBELTS WERE ON AT THE TIME. AS A RESULT, PASSENGER HAD CRACKED STERNUM,AND DRIVER HAD MILD WHIPLASH.PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

2000 CHEVY SILVERADO1500 V6 STALLS WHEN DRIVING. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO INDICATE ANY ISSUES WITH ENGINE. DEALER REPLACED CATALYTIC CONVERTER BUT CANNOT OFFER ANY REASON AS TO WHY THIS OCCURS. I HAVE REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, DISTRIBUTOR AND ROTOR BUTTON. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY AND CAN NOT BE TRACED TO ANY ONE SOURCE BY ME. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE LAST COUPLE OF TIMES IT WAS RAINING. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I LOSE THE ABILITY TO USE THE BRAKES AND IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL.*TR

I REQUESTED FROM JIM BISHOP TO REPLACE MY TIRES PRIOR TO MY PROBLEM SINCE I HAD BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW FROM THEM I WAS TOLD THEY DIDNOT DEAL IN TIRES...I THEN WENT TO FIRSTONE AND THEY TO WOULD NOT REPLACE MY TIRES IN HUNTSVILLE....I THEN FILED WITH NHTSA *AK (DOT NUMBER: VN73WMA0S0 TIRESIZE: P265/75R16)
TRUCK HAS HAD SEVERAL PARTS REPLACED FOR VIBRATION, SPENDS MORE TIME IN SHOP THAN AT HOME. *AK
ON AUGUST 25, GOING TO WORK FROM A LATE LUNCH, I EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT ON THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. WHEN THE TIRE BLEW IN THREWMY TRUCK INTO A LARGE CURB RUINING THE BUMBER,RIGHT FRONT CORNER PANEL, PARTS OF THE DOOR AS WELL AS SUSPENSION BENDAGE, AND RUINING BOTH WHEELS. BETWEEN ME AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY IT COST ALMOST 3000.00 TO FIX., BESIDES ME HAVING TO MAKE A CLAIM WHICH WLL PROBABLY RAISE MY INSURANCE RATES. 2 WEEKS LATER THE NEWS CAME OUT THAT 16" GENERAL TIRES WERE BEING RECALLED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM ON THE LINCOLN NAVIGATORS. I AM INTERESTED IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY OTHER OF THESE TIRES RECALLED, BECAUSE OF NOT ONLY THE MONEY IM OUT OF POCKET, BUT THE DEPRECIATION IT CAUSED MY TRUCK(NOT TO MENTION I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED SEVERELY BECAUSE OF THIS BLOWOUT. ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES ON DRY ROAD AND OR DRY CONDITIONS AND LOW SPEEDS. THIS INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE GREATLY AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS OCCURRS MOSTLY WHEN APPROACHING A STOP AT 10 MPH OR BELOW. THE ABS ENGAGES UNEXPECTEDELY AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO ROLL PARTLY INTO THE INTERSECTION OR POTENTIALLY INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE.
TWO COMPLAINTS, SAME VEHICLE SYSTEM: BRAKES. 1. MY FRONT BRAKES FAILED WHILE DRIVING @20MPH THRU A RESIDENTIAL AREA..SAILED THROUGH A STOP SIGN BUT FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS AT THE INTERSECTION. HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO GET MINIMAL STOPPING ABILITY. NO FLUID LEAKAGE. MASTER CYLINDER LEVEL WAS STILL AT 'MAX'; TRUCK WAS TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP (PROCARE); FOUND BOTH FRONT BRAKE LINES BLOWN DUE TO SEVERE RUST; REAR BRAKE LINES OUT OF THE DIFFERENTIAL APPEARED FINE. WHY WOULD THE BRAKE LINES RUST THROUGH ??? 2. DURING THIS REPAIR, PROCARE STATED THAT THEY FOUND THE REAR ROTORS SEVERELY RUSTED AND WOULD NEED REPLACED...AGAIN! [SUPPOSEDLY, PROCARE STATED THAT OTHER LARGE GM VEHICLES (SIERRA, TAHOE, TRAILBLAZER, SUBURBAN, ETC) HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH RUSTING ROTORS.] REAR ROTORS AND PADS WERE REPLACED ON THIS VEHICLE 11/26/2002 @19K MILES DUE TO SEVERE RUST. FRONT ROTORS AND PADS WERE REPLACED 9/5/2003 @26K MILES DUE TO SEVER RUST. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT USED IN ANY EXTREME CONDITIONS NOR IS IT USED FOR A BUSINESS. WHY ARE THE ROTORS RUSTING ?? IS GM USING SUBSTANDARD PARTS? COMPLAINTS TO THE CHEVY CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER 1-800-222-1020 (AS IN THE PAST) ARE FUTILE AND USELESS AT THIS POINT.
ON THIS DATE I WAS OUT SHOPPING ,WHEN I APPROACHED A REDLIGHT. I APPLIED THE BRAKE AND FELT NO RESPONSE. APPLIED MORE PRESSURE AND FELT ABS PULSE ABOUT 4 TIMES. THEN THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I HIT A HONDA ODYSSEY IN THE REAR,THAT CONTAINED 3 SMALL CHILDREN AND THEIR FATHER. LUCKILY, NO INJURIES. LOOKS LIKE A BRAKE LINE FAILED, WHY?????????? THE STATE OF RI IMPOUNDED THE TRUCK FOR AN INVESTIGATION,THE RESULTS OF WHICH I COULD HAVE WRITTEN AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. THEY ONLY STATE THE OBVIOUS. THEY HAVE ALSO SEIZED THE PLATED AND SUSPENDED THE REG. UNTIL ALL REPAIRS ARE MADE AND CERTIFIED . AGAIN I ASK WHY WOULD A BRAKE LINE FAIL ON AN 8 MODEL YEAR OLD VECH. I HAD A FIRESTONE WILDERNESS AT TIRE IN THE SIZE OF P265/75R16 BLOW THE ENTIRE SIDEWALL OUT AT A SPEED OF APROX 55 WITH ABOUT 2000 MILES ON THE TIRE. THE 2000 SILVERADO HAS TO BE A BLUNDER BY GENERAL MOTORS. THE TRUCK HAS BAD TIRES, THE ENGINE HAS USED OIL SINCE DAY ONE . THE ENGINE HAS A DEEP KNOCKING NOISE IN THE LOWER PART AND A TAPPING NOISE IN THE UPPER PART . THE ENGINE HAS A MISS AT IDLE AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT YOU HOOK UP TO THE TRUCK YOU CAN'T FIND THE REASON, BUT AFTER CHECKING I HAVE FOUND THAT ALL THE 99 AND 2000 SILERADO'S WITH THE 5.3 HAVE HAD A STRANGE MISS/VIBRATION. THERE ARE SO MANY MORE PROBLEMS THAT I CAN'T EXPLAIN THEM ALL WITHIN THIS COMMENT SECTION. . NOTE THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 8,592 MILES. GENERAL MOTORS HAS GOT A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE TRUCKS . THIS I SEE WAS A RECALL FOR MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS SUFFER THE SAME PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL.NHTSA RECALL#05V1610000.THE REAR BRAKE PADS WEAR OUT EVERY 30,000 MILES THE FRONT BRAKE PADS EVERY 100,000 MILES THIS I BELIEVE IS THE CAUSE OF MANY VEHICLE ACCIDENTS ,THIS IS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS ONLY BEING STOPPED BY ONE SET OF BRAKES WHICH CAUSES THE ABS TO COME ON PREMATURELY.THIS ALL STARTED IN THE YEAR 2000 AND STILL CONTINUES TODAY NOVEMBER 2006. *NM

3 DOOR PICKUP HAS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. ON DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BACK WILL NOT GO UP, BUT ON PASSENGER'S SIDE DOES GO UP, WHERE THIRD DOOR IS LOCATED. IT GOES UP. BUT IF SOMEONE LIKE A SMALL CHILD IS IN BACK IT WOULD BE TRAPPED BECAUSE SEAT WILL NOT GO UP. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WENT ON DAY AFTER PURCHASE. SATURDAY. RETURNED TO DEALER ON MONDAY FOR CHECKUP. DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON 08/10/2000. RETURNED TO DEALER. THIS TIME THEY CHECKED THE NATIONAL COMPUTER AND FOUND THAT THE KNOCK SENSORS WERE OVERTORQUED AT THE FACTORY AND REPLACED THEM. WHY DIDN'T THEY CHECK THE NATIONAL COMPUTER WHEN THEY HAD THE TRUCK THE FIRST TIME? STARTED TRUCK UP IN AM 11/13-/2000 OIL LIGHT CAME ON. CHECKED OIL, WAS FULL. STARTED TRUCK UP AGAIN, THOUGHT MAYBE GUAGE WAS INCORRECT. STILL NO OIL PRESSURE. THEY TOWED TRUCK IN AND REPLACED OIL PUMP. THE MILEAGE WAS ONLY 4513. I WANTED ENGINE REPLACE, BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NO DAMAGE . GAS PEDAL STICKING AT 23550 MILES. RETURNED TRUCK TO DEALER. THEY INSTALLED NEW THROTTLE BODY.ALSO OIL FILLER TUBE WAS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. OIL WAS LEAKING FROM TUBE. THEY FIXED THIS ALSO.AT 26581 MILES ENGINE STARTED TO HAVE VALVE NOISE ON COLD STARTUP. RETURNED TO DEALER. THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. ON 12/05/2001 RETURNED TRUCK DUE TO TAPPING NOISE. THIS TIME THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO CASTROL OIL FILTER. THEY CHANGED OIL AND PUT ON PF59 FILTER. THOUGHT PROBLEM WAS FIXED. ENGINE STILL HAS LIFT NOISE ON COLD STARTUP. ALSO COMPLAINED OF TRANSMISSION DOUBLE SHIFTING. DEALER CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SO MANY TIMES THEY SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS, BUT I KNOW THEY ARE AFRAID TO DO THAT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, WHEN THE BRAKES ARE FIRMLY APPLIED, THE VEHICLE KEEPS MOVING ALTHOUGH IT FEELS AS IS THE PEDAL HAS PRESSURE AT FIRST. AFTER ABOUT A SECOND, THE PEDAL STARTS TO PULSATE AS IF THE ABS IS WORKING, YET THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SLOW EFFECTIVELY AND IT SOUNDS AS IF THERE IS A GRINDING COMING FROM THE WHEELS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT CLAIMED THAT THEY CHECKED THE SYSTEM OUT AND NOTHING WAS WRONG. AFTER 17000 MILES I STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM OCCASIONALLY WHEN BRAKING FIRMLY.*AK
TRUCK LURCHES VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED BUT ONLY WHEN TOWING A HORSE TRAILER. CONDITION IS SO SEVERE THAT THE TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN TOWING. THE TRAILER HAS BEEN WEIGHED (8300# EMPTY) AND CAREFULLY INSPECTED, NO PROBLEMS. THE TRUCK IS RATED TO PULL 10,800#. DEALER TELLS ME THAT I AM PULLING TOO MUCH WEIGHT. THE DISC BRAKES, ALL FOUR, WERE FOUND TO BE SEVERELY OVERHEATED AND WERE REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE TRUCK WILL LURCH EVEN WHEN THE TRAILER BRAKES ARE DISCONNECTED AND THE TRAILER BRAKES CAN STOP BOTH THE TRUCK AND TRAILER SMOOTHLY BY USING THE HAND CONTROL. THREE DEALERS, TWO SERVICE REPS AND A GM ENGINEER ARE STUMPED, BUT GM REFUSES TO GIVE ME A BUY BACK. *AK
