2001 CHEVROLET PICKUP INVOLVED IN A CRASH WITH A TREE AND AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVE SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURY TO MOUTH BY HITTING STEERING WHEEL, DISPLACING FIVE LOWER FRONT TEETH CAUSING EXTENSIVE PAIN HAVING TEETH REPOSITIONED. *JB
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN TWO COLLISIONS CAUSED BY BRAKE FAILURE. THE FIRST COLLISION INVOLVED A VEHICLE MAKING A U TURN AND CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TRAVELING 40 MPH WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND STROKE THE OTHER VEHICLE. DURING THE SECOND COLLISION CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 35 MPH, WAS UNABLE TO STOP, AND COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER INVOLVING AN UPCOMING RECALL, AND WAS TOLD THAT NOTIFICATION WILL TAKE PLACE IN TWO-THREE WEEKS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING IN A VERY HEAVY RAIN STORM WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMPLETELY BROKE. CONSUMER COULD NOT GET THEM TO WORK AGAIN. CONSUMER STATED THAT WINDSHIELD WIPERS JUST FLOPPED TO THE LEFT, HITTING THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR. *AK
A CLUNK SOUND EMANATES FROM THE DRIVELINE OF MY 2004 SILVERADO MOSTLY WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD AND FROM 3RD TO 2ND. THE CLUNK ALSO OCCURS BETWEEN NO ACCELERATION AND ACCELLERATION WHILE IN 2ND GEAR. OCCASIONALLY THE NOISE OCCURS BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. THE PROBLEM BEGAN AT APPROXIMATELY 2000 MILES. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AS I NOW APPROACH 20,000 MILES. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT A DRIVELINE FAILURE OR DAMAGE TO DRIVELINE COMPONENTS DUE TO REPEATED TORSIONAL IMPACTS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING ON I-75 AT 70 MPH REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND THE TIRE BLEW OUT FROM THE SIDE, ALL THE WAY AROUND THE TIRE.*AK
NHTSA RECALL 04V129000 ON THE TAILGATE SUPPORT CABLE. FOR SIX MONTHS THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
WHILE RECLINING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED. *AK *MR
PRIOR TO PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE A VIBRATION AND BOUNCING WAS NOTED ON THE TEST DRIVE, THE DEALER ASSURED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD BE CORRECTED AND TWO DAYS LATER THEY REPLACED THE TIRES. THIS DID NOT ELIMINATE ALL OF THE BOUNCING, THE DEALER AGAIN SERVICED THE VEHICLE, THE SALESMAN AND THE SERVICE MANAGER BOTH RODE WITH ME IN THE VEHICLE AND AGREED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD BE CORRECTED EVEN IF ALL OF THE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS, WHEELS AND TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED. ONE DAY LATER I WAS TOLD THAT THE BOUNCING WAS CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT, NO OTHER SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. I DO NOT FEEL THE VEHICLE IS PERFORMING CORRECTLY AND IS NOT SAFE.*AK
CRUISE CONTROL SURGES GOING DOWN HILL (ACCEL,DECEL,ACCEL,DECEL) APPEARS THAT COMPUTER "GAIN" AND "DEADBAND" ARE INCORRECT. DEALER SAYS THAT GM CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. *JB
VEHICLE OVER HEATED WHILE TOWING A 10K LBS 5TH WHEEL TRAILER, VEHICLE IS RATED TO TOW 17K LBS 5TH WHEEL TRAILER. *AK
IN JUNE, 2004, MR. WOLD BEGAN EXPERIENCING MECHANICAL PROBLEMS HIS 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO TRUCK. TO BEGIN WITH, THE ABS BRAKE LIGHT IN THE NEW SILVERADO CAME ON AND INTERMITTENTLY STAYED ON. IN JULY OF 2004, MR. WOLD TOOK TRUCK FOR SERVICING AT RIVERSIDE AUTO CENTER IN BONNERS FERRY, IDAHO FOR INVESTIGATION OF THIS PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS. IN EARLY DECEMBER 2004, THE ABS LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON AND THE BRAKES WERE NOW NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE FIRST TIME THAT THE BRAKES ON THE TRUCK FAILED, MR. WOLD WAS EXITING HIS DRIVEWAY. FORTUNATELY, THE SURFACE WAS FAIRLY FLAT AND MR. WOLD WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP. AFTER EXAMINING THE TRUCK FOR ANY OUTWARD SIGNS OF BRAKE FAILURE, MR. WOLD TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICING. THE SECOND TIME THAT THE BRAKES FAILED ON THE 2004 SILVERADO, THE SITUATION WAS A SERIOUS THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY. MR. WOLD WAS PULLING A FOUR (4) HORSE TRAILER AND COMING DOWN A HILL TOWARDS THE TOWN OF BONNERS FERRY. THE SPEED LIMIT ON THIS PARTICULAR GRADE DECREASES FROM 60 TO 45 AND THEN AGAIN, TO 35. AS MR. WOLD BEGAN TO BRAKE FROM 45 TO 35, ONCE AGAIN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. LUCKILY, IT WAS A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND THERE WAS LITTLE TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD. AS MR. WOLD FRANTICALLY ROLLED THROUGH A BYPASS THROUGH THE TOWN OF BONNERS FERRY, HE ATTEMPTED TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES AGAIN, AND FORTUNATELY, THEY ENGAGED AFTER HE HAD ILLEGALLY AND UNSAFELY ROLLED THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF A BYPASS THROUGH TOWN. AGAIN, MR. WOLD TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICING AND REPAIR. THE LAST, FRIGHTENING EPISODE OF BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED IN THE EVENING, AFTER MR. WOLD WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. AGAIN, AS HE DECELERATED AND LIGHTLY APPLIED HIS BRAKES WHILE COMING INTO TOWN, THE BRAKES WERE NON RESPONSIVE. AFTER THIS LAST EPISODE, MR. WOLD DOUBTED THE SAFETY OF THE BRAKES ON HIS NEW TRUCK AND FEARED THAT THE BRAKES WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AND KILL HIM OR SOMEBODY ELSE. *NM
CONSUMER ORDERED A FOUR WHEEL DRIVE FROM THE MANUFACTURER, AND THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED WITH 4 PLY HIGHWAY TIRES ON IT. THESE TIRES WERE NOT DESIGNED TO HANDLE 4 WHEEL OPERATION. MANUFACTURER WAS NOT WILLING TO CHANGE ANYTHING. THEY STATED TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH BUGS AND DEBRIS DEFLECTED RIGHT INTO THE CONSUMER'S FACE WHILE DRIVING.*MR THE LEFT AND RIGHT DOOR REAR VIEW MIRRORS CAUSE BUGS AND OTHER DEBRIS TO BE DEFLECTED RIGHT INTO THE FACE OF WHOEVER IS SITTING IN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT. THE HAS OCCURRED MANY TIMES. THE CONSUMER HAS HAD EVERYTHING FROM BUG TO GRAVEL HIT HIM IN THE FACE. THE CONSUMER FEELS THE MIRRORS NEED TO BE REDESIGNED. *NM
WHILE PARKED AND KEY IN THE IGNITION VEHICLE DISENGAGED FROM PARK AND BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. *AK
WHILE PLACING THE JACK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE IT SLIPPED OFF. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE JACK OPERATED AS DESIGNED. *AK
VEHICLE HAS BAD LIGHTS, MAKING THE VIEW ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT VERY DIFFICULT. ANYTIME THAT THE HIGH BEAMS WERE TURNED THE OTHER LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF.*AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE HEAD LIGHTS HAVE SHADOWS IN THEM. THE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL ON BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAM SHARE THE SAME SCREW FOR ADJUSTMEN. ALONG THE SIDES OF THE VEHICLES THERE ARE SHADOWS THAT MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IN CERTAIN AREAS AT NIGHT. *TC
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT. SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE JERKED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR INSPECTION, BUT MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THERE IS A HORRIBLE WIND NOISE ON THE REAR QUARTER PANEL WINDOWS OF MY 2004, CHEVROLOET SILVERADO. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, THERE IS STILL WINDNOISE APPARENT.*AK
DT: WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS ON A GRADE IT WILL ROLL BACKWARDS WHEN IN DRIVE. THE TRANSMISSION WILL READ A FALSE NEUTRAL ON LEVEL GROUND. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THIS VEHICLE HAS A 4L80E TRANSMISSION. THE PROBLEM STARTED APPROXIMATELY A MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. HAS NOT HIT ANYTHING YET, BUT HAS COME CLOSE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. A SERVICE WRITER AT GROTH BROTHERS CHEVROLET TOLD CONSUMER IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE TO DO THIS. CONSUMER HAS A CASE OPEN AT GENERAL MOTORS #1-258070464.*AK
I HAD THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM WITH MY 1999 SILVERADO AS WELL: WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 SILVERADO DOWN RT. 128 IN MA. AT RATE OF SPEED OF ABOUT 45 MPH THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME APPROXIMATELY 75 FEET (?) STOPPED SUDDENLY. THERE WAS PLENTY OF DISTANCE TO STOP. IF I WAS DRIVING MY 1968 DODGE DART WITH 1 BRAKE AND BALD TIRES I COULD HAVE STOPPED. HOWEVER, WHILE DRIVING THE 2004 MODERN COMPUTER CONTROLLED VEHICLE, THE TRUCK FAILED TO STOP AND I REAR-ENDED THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF ME. THE AIR BAG WAS NOT DEPLOYED BECAUSE OF THE SLOW RATE OF SPEED. THE REASON THE TRUCK FAILED IS BECAUSE ABS WOULD NOT STOP THE TIRES BECAUSE THE ROAD WAS ROUGH LIKE A WASH BOARD. THE TRUCK JUST KEPT ROLLING FORWARD AT A SLOW RATE AND I COULD NOT TURN OFF DUE TO THE GUARDRAIL AND TRAFFIC TO MY RIGHT. I WATCHED MY NEW TRUCK SLOWLY HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. THEY WERE DRIVING A NISSAN THAT JUST GOT A SCRATCH ON IT. MY CHEVY SILVERADO HEAVY DUTY 2500 FELL APART ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF BODY PARTS WERE ON THE GROUND. I NOW HAVE A GIANT INSURANCE RATE THAT I AM DISPUTING. THERE HAS TO BE A STOP TO THESE ABS. HOW DID I MAKE IT 38 YEARS WITHOUT HELMETS AND ABS. THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS. *JB
AFTER TOWING A TRAILER AND PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE VEHICLE JUMPED AND TORE A PIECE OF RUBBER OUT OF THE TIRE. DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HOWEVER, THE TRANSMISSION JUMPED FROM SECOND GEAR TO REVERSE WITHOUT WARNING. CONSUMER STATED THAT THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO CODE SET, AND TO CONTINUE DRIVING, BUT THE CONSUMER REFUSED.*AK

WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. UPON IMPACT, NONE OF THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISES TO THEIR CHEST FROM THE SEAT BELT, AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A BRUISED KNEE. THIS COLLISION RESULTED IN $800.00 FRONTAL DAMAGE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS CONSUMER HEARD A POPPING NOISE. THEN, THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE, AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. CONSUMER'S VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE, BUT NO DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED DUE TO THE LOW SPEED DRIVING AT TIME OF IMPACT. THERE WAS BRAKE VALVE RECALL 04V045000, BUT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED DUE TO VIN. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 30-35 MPH I TOOK NOTICE TO VEHICLE SLOWING DOWN IN FRONT OF ME. I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR CAUSING ME TO REAR END VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE, STILL SITS THERE TODAY. THIRD OCCASION OF BRAKES GOING TO FLOOR, FIRST OCCASION OF AIR BAGS NOT DEPLOYING.*AK
I PURCHASED A 2004 CHEVROLET 2500HD SILVERADO DURAMAX IN FEB 2004. THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS HAVE BEEN VIBRATING SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE MIRRORS ONCE, WHICH DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEY NOW STATE THAT IT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT GM NEEDS TO LOOK INTO INSTEAD OF IGNORING AND STATING AS A CHARACTERITIC OF THE VEHICLE.*AK
THREE YEAR OLD CHILD TOOK VEHICLE OUT OF PARK AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED AND CRASHED INTO THE CARPORT.*MR THE CONSUMER REQUESTED COMPENSATION FOR THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE BUT WAS DENIED. THE REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN CHANGE THEREFORE HE COULD NOT RECEIVED COMPENSATION. *NM
THE PLASTIC TAILGATE HANDLE BEZEL KEEPS FALLING OUT EVERYTIME THE TAILGATE IS LOWERED. IT MAY FLY OFF WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT BEHIND MY TRUCK.*AK
DT: THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE BRAKES EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE JUNE 2004 WHEN HE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. CHEVROLET SILVERADO TRUCKS HAVE A STEERING DEFECT THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS ABOUT AND WILL NOT FIX. THEY TELL ME THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, BUT HOW SAFE CAN A BANGING/DRY STEERING SHAFT BE? EVENTUALLY, SOMEONE WILL WEAR IT OUT AND IT WILL BREAK AND SOMETHING AWFUL WILL HAPPEN. THE NOISE SCARES PEOPLE INTO PAYING FOR A TEMPORARY FIX OVER AND OVER, BUT IF LET GO...IT IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN THEY WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT BOTH FRONTAL TIRES LUG NUTS WERE LOOSE. THE DRIVER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
DT: THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS THAT WERE SPECIAL ORDERED FOR THE VEHICLE DID NOT EXTEND FAR ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR PROPER VISION WHEN TOWING A EIGHT FOOT WIDE TRAILER. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THEY COULD NOT OFFER A FREE REMEDY.*AK UPDATED 12/7/2005. *NM
THE VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. SOMETIMES THE GEARS CHANGE SMOOTHLY, AND OTHER TIMES THERE IS A THUMPING SOUND ACCOMPANIED BY JERKING. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH. *AK IN ADDITION WHEN MAKING THE TRANSITION FROM A LOW SPEED TO A HIGHER SPEED THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO THE PROPER GEAR. THIS MADE IT SEEM LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE DEALER FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH A RETROFIT KIT AND THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE. THE VEHICLE'S CD PLAYER WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE DEALER REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED THE CD PLAYER. *NM
WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE LOST POWER AND EVERYTHING SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE NO BRAKES OR STEERING, AND THE DASHBOARD WAS COMPLETELY BLACK. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT IF THIS HAPPENED AGAIN HE WOULD HAVE TO TOW IT BACK TO THE DEALER. *AK
GOING DOWNHILL ON A S CURVE, I WAS APPLYING MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR HAD TO PUMP A FEW TIMES TO GET BRAKES.*AK
THE CONSUMER STATED THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING AN ACCIDENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DRIVER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. *JB WHILE TRAVELING AT 30 MPH AND APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION, A SECOND VEHICLE ENTERED ON THE CONSUMER'S LEFT HAND SIDE, THERE WAS NO TIME TO REACT, THE CONSUMER STRUCK THE SECOND VEHICLE ON IT'S RIGHT SIDE. THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *SC *JB
WHEN COMING TO A STOP LIGHT I WAS APPLYING MY BRAKES TO STOP BEHIND A VEHICLE, BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. ALL BRAKE COMPONENT WERE CHECKED, NO CURRENT TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS AND CONTACTED TECHNICAL ASSISTANT. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A KNOCKING NOISE, THAT CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING AND BRAKE PEDAL. THE DEALER REPLACED A SHAFT THAT CONNECTED TO THE STEERING SECTOR. THE FIX CORRECTED IT FOR A WHILE. THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PART NEEDED TO BE REMOVED AND GREASED EVERY 15000 MILES. I SAID ,WHY DOES IT NOT HAVE GREASE FITTINGS? OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS I HAVE TALKED TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I SENT GM AN E-MAIL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, NEVER GOT AN ANSWER. I DO GET LETTERS FROM GM WANTING ME TRADE FOR A NEW ONE. WHY PAY $40 TO $50 THOUSAND FOR A VEHICLE THAT THE MANUFACTURER WONT STAND BEHIND? I OWN A 2500HD W/DURAMAX DIESEL.IT HAS FRAME BEAMING DEFECTS.DEFECT WAS PRESENT FROM THE START BUT WAS NOT IDENTIFIED TILL ABOUT 20,000 MI.TRUCK TEARING UP TIRES,VIBRATING,DIFFICULT TO STEER AND GETTING WORSE ALONG WITH DEVELOPING OTHER PROBLEMS.GM HAS LIED AND TRIED TO HIDE THAT THERE REALLY IS A DEFECT.THEY WOULD NOT PRESENT ANY TSB'S OR ANY OTHER INFO REGUARDING WHEN ASKED.THE TRUCK WAS VIBRATING SO BAD THE OTHER NIGHT I JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN BLEW THE R&R TIRE AND ALMOST HIT A ROCK EMBANKMENT.TIRES HAD LESS THAN 18000 MILES ON THEM .I BOUGHT 2 MORE JUST TO TRY TO BE SAFE AND GET THERE.PLEASE HELP WITH ANY INFO OR ADVICE, ANYTHING!*AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED SINCE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN WEAK AND SPONGY. THE BRAKES WERE NOT ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE PROPERLY AND IT TOOK AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF PRESSURE TO STOP. WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED OVER A BUMP STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAD THE HOOD UP EXAMINING THE ENGINE, AND THE HOOD FELL ON THE CONSUMER'S HEAD AND BACK AREA. THE CONSUMER SUFFERED A BUMP ON THE BACK OF THE HEAD, A SLIGHT CONCUSSION, AND A GASH TO THE FORE HEAD. THE DEALER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THE COIL SPRING ON THE HOOD. *AK *SC *JB
CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINING THE SAME SPEED AFTER RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. SPEED WOULD CONTINUE FOR 3 SECONDS OR MORE BEFORE THE SPEED WAS REDUCED. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERS, AND BOTH AGREED THAT WAS THE NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT VEHICLE.*AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. ALSO, THE DEALER REPLACED THE IGNITION SYSTEM. THIS REPLACEMENT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AGAIN. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE CAUSE FOR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE IS STILL HAVING INTERMITTENT STALLING. PROBLEMS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. UPON IMPACT, BOTH AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. *AK
THE PROBLEM STARTED SOON AFTER I DROVE THE NEW 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EXTENDED CAB OFF THE LOT. WHEN TRAVELING BETWEEN 60-70 MPH, THE TRUCKS SUSPENSION WILL BOUNCE ALMOST AS IF THERE ARE NO SHOCK ABSORBERS. THIS BOUNCING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE SPEED IS REDUCED TO BELOW 55 MPH. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN TO THE PITTSBURGH, CA DEALER AND COMPLAINED. THEY SAID IT WAS ONLY A "CALIFORNIA CONCRETE HIGHWAY" PROBLEM. THEY SAID IT WAS THE ROAD AND NOT THE TRUCK. I HAVE THIS PROBLEM ALMOST CONTINUALLY NOW, I COMPLAINED TO CHEVROLET'S CUSTOMER COMPLAINT SECTION, WHO GAVE ME THE SAME ANSWER. THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR ANSWER IS THAT I OWN A 1996 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EXTENDED CAB TRUCK THAT DOES NOT GO INTO UNCONTROLLABLE BOUNCING AS THIS ONE DOES. I ALSO DRIVE A CHEVROLET AVALANCHE THAT DOES NOT BOUNCE UNCONTROLLABLY AS THIS ONE DOES WHEN DRIVEN AT THE SAME SPEEDS ON THE SAME STRETCHES OF ROADWAY. I BELIEVE THERE IS EITHER SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SHOCK ABSORBERS OR THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK. THE BOUNCING IS SO BAD THAT IT FEELS LIKE THE WHEELS ARE ACTUALLY LEAVING THE GROUND. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT CHEVROLET SHOULD ADDRESS. MY PROBLEM REMAINS UNRESOLVED. *NM

RECENTLY WHILE TRYING TO START MY TRUCK THERE WAS A DRIVABILITY ISSUES WITH THE POWERTRAIN, I HAD THE LOCK LIGHT FOR THE THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COME ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALSO LIT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE WOULDN'T COME ON.IT READ "AIRBAG OFF" EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A PASSENGER SEATED. THE RED WARNING LIGHT FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE DID NOT APPEAR TO WORK EITHER.*AK THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENED ONE TIME.CW
THE EXTERIOR SIDE MIRRORS ON BOTH SIDES ARE MADE OF PLASTIC. WHEN THE MIRRORS ARE WIPED SCRATCHES APPEAR. ONCE THEY ARE SCRATCHED MIRRORS BECOME USELESS. ALSO, CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES DON'T STAY ON WHEN THE WINDSHIELD IS WASHED MANUALLY.*AK
