TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE HYDRO PLANED AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE ROAD BARRIER. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THERE WERE FOUR INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. INJURY DETAILS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
LOST BRAKING POWER WHEN TRYING TO STOP. WAS ABLE TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP WITHOUT RUNNING ALL THE WAY INTO THE INTERSECTION. DROVE HOME CAREFULLY AND CALLED DEALER. DEALER SERVICE SAID ONE BRAKE LINE WAS COMPLETELY RUSTED IN TWO AND THE OTHER ONE WAS JUST ABOUT TO. *TR
YESTERDAY ON 4/10/2014 AT 2:00PM I GET INTO MY 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 CLASSIC CREW CAB AND START MY TRUCK. I NOTICE THAT ONCE I LET GO OF THE GET IT NEVER RETURNED TO THE ON POSITION FROM RUN/START POSITION. THE TRUCK IS RUNNING AND UNABLE TO TURN OFF. I HAD TO GO UNDER THE HOOD FUSE BOX TO PULL THE PCM FUSE TO SHUT THE TRUCK OFF. THIS HOW EVER STILL LEFT THE TRUCK ON. IT IS NOW SITTING IN THE SHOP IN PHOENIX, AZ AAA OWNED AND OPERATED SHOP ON 75TH AVE AND THUNDERBIRD. I WILL BE REQUESTING THE PARTS AFTER SEEING AND HEARING THE "IGNITION SWITCH RECALL" OF OTHER GM VEHICLES. *TR

SAFETY CONCERN WITH CRACKS IN DASH AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC USING THE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,150. UPDATED 5/15/15*CN
AUTONATION TOYOTA IN ARLINGTON, TX FAILED TO TIGHTEN ONE OF MY WHEELS AFTER SERVICING IT. I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH WHEN MY WHEEL BECAME TOTALLY DISCONNECTED FROM THE ROTOR. THE TECHNICIAN WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS TOLD ME THAT HIS WAS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AT THIS PARTICULAR DEALERSHIP. AUTONATION TOYOTA IS PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS AND OTHER DRIVERS AT RISK AND IN DANGER. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE FROM 2014 UNTIL 2016 FOR WHELL CYLINDERSNBECAUSE OF ABS SENSORS ACTIVATING. HAVE PURCHASED WHELL CYLINDERS TWICE AND NOW I NEED THEM AGAIN. VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN ABS SENSORS ACTIVATE.
I WAS CURRENTLY AT PLAINVIEW TEXAS, 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO, UNABLE TO DRIVE DUE TO RAIN, HAD TO STOP TO WAIT FOR RAIN TO GO AWAY, WIPERS FELL TO WORK DURING COLD WEATHER. BOTH WIPER FROZE CAUSING THEM NOT TO WORK, HAD TO STOP AT DIFFERENT STORES TO CHECK IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG. ONCE WE ENTER EL PASO TX STARTED TO WORK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DOORS CONTINUOUSLY LOCKING/UNLOCKING, ALL DASH LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY TURNING ON/OFF, CLOCK RESET ITSELF TO 12:00, ENGINE CUTTING IN/OUT WHICH ALSO RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES, ALL OF WHICH OCCURRED WHILE AT FREEWAY SPEED. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AND A HALF AGO FROM A CHEVROLET DEALER IN SACRAMENTO, CA. SINCE I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF THE CLOCK RESETTING ITSELF TO 12:00, COMPLETE POWER LOSS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. *JS
THE SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGE LIGHTED ON THE DASHBOARD FOLLOWED BY AN EXPLOSION. SEAT BELTS TIGHTENED AND LOCKED. THE DEALERSHIP VERIFIED COMPLAINT, FOUND SDM INTERNALLY SHORTED. NEEDED NEW SDM AND BOTH FRONT PRETENSIONERS AND CONTROL MODULE. TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WAS $1445.99. *TR
MY DASH IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES. THIS IS A DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. I GOT IN IT ONE DAY AND NOTICED IT HAD CRACKED OVERNIGHT. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, I FOUND THIS TO BE COMMON DEFECT AND GM SHOULD BE MADE TO STEP UP AND FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE DEFECTIVE AIR BAG BOLTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 67,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS BEGAN FLICKERING ON THE DASH AND IN THE CABIN. APPROXIMATELY 45 SECONDS TO ONE MINUTE AFTER THE INITIAL DASH AND LIGHT ISSUES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A NOTICE OF BATTERY CHARGING FAILURE OCCURRED, WITHIN A FEW SECONDS OF THIS OCCURRENCE I BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AND PULL OVER. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF BEFORE THIS COULD OCCUR. BY THE TIME I COAXED THE VEHICLE ONTO THE SHOULDER THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND DOOR LOCKS WERE NO LONGER WORKING. SMOKE AND FLAMES BEGAN TO ENTER THE COCKPIT AND I IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN LESS THAN A MINUTE AND THE ENTIRE TRUCK, BED, AND GAS TANK SOON FOLLOWED. THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETELY CONSUMED AND IS NOW A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT LATCH AT ALL. THE RECIEVER THAT THE BELT GOES INTO WILL NOT ALOW THE BELT TO LOCK INTO PLACE. THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT STAY LOCKED, IF YOU BUCKLE IT THE BELY WILL COME UN SNAPPED WHENEVER IF FEELS LIKE IT. *TR

I ONLY GET ABOUT A MONTH OR 2 USE OUT OF HEADLIGHTS. I REPLACED MY LIGHT BULBS AT LEAST 8 TIMES IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS. I ONLY USE MY TRUCK TO GO TO WORK. ITS NEVER LEAVES THE ROAD AND THEY SHOULD NOT KEEP BLOWING LIKE THAT. I HAVE NOTICED QUIET A FEW OTHER OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK, WHILE STARTING TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AT MY MECHANIC'S SHOP, MY FOOT WENT TO THE FLOOR. I STOPPED, GOT OUT AND FOUND A LARGE PUDDLE OF BRAKE FLUID ON THE GROUND. THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP AND FOUND ALL OF THE BRAKE LINES WERE BADLY RUSTED AND 1 HAD COMPLETELY FAILED. DURING THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS THEY ALSO FOUND THE FUEL LINE WAS RUSTED SO I HAD IT REPLACED AS WELL. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING STARTED COMING ON WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK. SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, LOOKED IN OWNERS MANUAL AND IT ADVISED TO GET IT SERVICED. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER WHO ADVISED ME JUST TO DRIVE IT, "THAT'S COMMON" I WAS TOLD. FAR CRY FROM THE HAZARDS THE BOOK EXPLAINS. IS THERE A RECALL ON THE 2007? NOT IMPRESSED! *TR
I APPLIED THE BRAKES OF MY 07" CHEVY SILVERADO CLASSIC IN A PARKING LOT, THE TRUCK STOPPED AND THEN THE BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. GOT THE TRUCK HOME, AND SOON FOUND A POOL OF BRAKE FLUID ON THE GROUND UNDER THE LEFT REAR WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH ALMOST NO STOPPING POWER. DIAGNOSIS - BRAKE LINE FAILURE. THE BRAKE LINES HAD DETERIORATED AND HAVE BEGUN FALLING APART. THE SOLUTION - A $2,400 BRAKE LINE REPLACEMENT JOB (ACTUAL PART COST $100). THE JOB IS APPARENTLY EXTREMELY LABOR INTENSIVE. IS GM DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS? MY TRUCK IS 7 YEARS OLD AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THE MAJOR BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE PROBLEM THAT I AM EXPERIENCING. *TR

THE MANIFOLD BOLTS HAVE BROKEN OFF INTO THE HEAD OF THE ENGINE. RESULTING IN FAILURE OF SEAL TO HEAD FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. IN TURN, HAS CAUSED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER TO FAIL AND NOW THE VEHICLE REQUIRES EXTENSIVE WORK TO PASS EMISSIONS TESTING IN CALIFORNIA. IT ONLY TAKES ONE BOLT TO BREAK ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE. THE BOLTS ARE OBVIOUSLY THE WEAK LINK. THE ENGINEERING DESIGN NEEDS TO BE MODIFIED IMMEDIATELY. IT IS NOT LISTED AS A MAINTENANCE ITEM IN ANY GM OWNERS MANUAL. WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AN ITEM THAT CAUSES CATASTROPHIC FAILURE TO THE EMISSION SYSTEM, WHICH IS A MANDATED AND GOVERNED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND FEE'D ACCORDINGLY VIA STATE AND COUNTY GUIDELINES. *TR
IT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET BUT ALL BRAKE LINES UNDER TRUCK ARE CORRODED REAL BAD.I AM WORRIED THAT I WILL LOOSE BRAKES AT ANYTIME.I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE STEERING BOX AND POWER STEERING PUMP BECAUSE OF RUST.I ONLY HAVE 48000 MILES ON TRUCK,WHY IS THIS HAPPENING? *TR

THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE SPOTS AND HAS STARTED TO CRACK AND FALL INTO THE MECHANICAL COMPONENTS UNDERNEATH. HAS 6 OR MORE CRACKS APPROXIMATELY 6-12 INCHES. IT STARTED WITH ONE CRACK AND HAS CONTINUE TO HAVE MORE, HAPPENS WHILE PARKED AND DRIVING.
AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT AND SAYS AIRBAG FOR DRIVER NEEDS SERVICE. *TR
I HAVE TRIED TO GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED ON MY 2007 SILVERADO FOR YEARS. EVER SINCE THE RECALL I GO IN PERIODICALLY TO SEE IF THEY CAN BE REPLACED AND ALWAYS GET THE SAME ANSWER. NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THEY HAVE WARNED ME THAT DRIVING IT WAS DANGEROUS AND I SHOULD PARK IT UNTIL FIXED. I BOUGHT IT TO DRIVE AND CAN NOT PARK IT BUT WORRY THAT IT IS REALLY NOT SAFE. I WOULD HAVE HAD IT PARKED FOR YEARS AT THIS POINT AND THEY OFFER NO LOANER TILL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. NOW I SEE THERE ARE THOUSANDS MORE RECALLED. WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO IF NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL THESE YEARS?
SELECTED ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT AND SUSPENSION AND BODY BECAUSE THERE IS NO PLACE TO ADD TAILGATE AND THAT IS WHERE HE PROBLEM IS - GEEZ - THAT PART MAKES NO SENESE AT ALL. *TR TAILGATE LOCK ON RIDERS SIDE OF VEHICLE DOES NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND GREASED ONCE AT BUTCH OSTELETE IN PASCAGOULA, MS. I CALLED ABOUT REPAIR BUT THE PERSON ON THE PHONE SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME TO REPAIR IT. THE PROBLEM IS YOU HAVE TO STICK YOUR FINGER IN THE LOCK PIN AND SLIDE IT UPWARD TO MAKE IT ENGAGE WHEN THE TAILGATE IS CLOSED. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING SINCE I HAVE ON THE VEHICLE. IT IS A DEFECT THAT COULD CAUSE SOMEONE (LIKE ME) TO INJURE THEIR FINGER IN THE LOCK OR JOLT A PERSONS WRIST AND ELBOWS (LIKE ME) AND CAUSE HARM. THIS DEFECT NEEDS TO BE CALLED TO GM ATTENTION AND HAVE THESE ISSUES REPAIRED.
PLASTIC DASH HAS CRACKED NEAR AIR BAG. COULD LEAD TO SHARP PLASTIC PIECES FROM DASH BEING SENT INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHEN AIR BAG DEPLOYS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS DOOR LOCKS WILL CYCLE ON AND OFF, EXTERIOR LIGHTS AND DASH DISPLAY WILL GO OFF, WIPERS WILL FREEZE, ALL GAUGES WILL GO ZERO AND TWO OR THREE WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON SUCH AS STABILITRAK, ABS BRAKES OR SERVICE AIR BAGS. LIGHTS ETC WILL GO OFF FOR 5 SECONDS WHICH IS DANGEROUS. I TOOK IT TO STEWART CHEVROLET IN COLMA ON 2/3/14, THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM ON ROAD TESTS BUT WERE UNABLE TO GUARANTEE A FIX IF THEY REPLACED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE OR APPLIED TSB 08-07-30-0216 DOC ID# 2776388. HOW DO I GET THIS SAFETY ISSUE ADDRESSED? *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR BECAME INOPERABLE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE DUE TO THE VEHICLE NOT BEING INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. I HAVE HAD CARS 20 YEARS OLD AND LINES NEVER RUSTED. DEALER ADMITTED THEY AREN'T STAINLESS STEEL FROM FACTORY. PEOPLE CAN DIE FROM THIS IF THEY ARE DRIVING, LINES LEAK, THEY HAVE NO BRAKES. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED WOULD ROLL DOWN WINDOW AND HEAD LIGHTS WOULD DIM. BLOWER FOR HEATER AND DEFROSTER WOULD CUT IN AND OUT. THERE WAS A DISTINCT ODOR WHEN USING DEFROSTER AND THEN IT QUIT ALL TOGETHER. THIS WAS DURING WINTER WHICH MADE THE TRUCK UN-DRIVABLE UNTIL REPAIRED. 10-14 DAY AFTER THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS REPLACED THE OIL SENDING UNIT STOPPED WORKING AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS WERE LITE UP. THE DEALER SHIP STATED THAT IT WAS A KNOW ISSUE WITH THE WIRING HARNESS AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHICH WAS NOT CHEAP. THEY DID SAY EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOW ISSUE THAT WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIR. *TR

MY FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED ON BOTH SIDES. I LOOKED AT THE INTERNET AND FOUND MANY 06/07 GM FRONT WHEEL BEARING FAILURES, ALSO MANY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS HAD THE SAME FAILURES. TO ME THIS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM AS THE WHEEL CAN COME OFF. *JS
