TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS MALFUNCTIONING. ONCE THE FUEL LEVEL REACHED A QUARTER OF A TANK, THE CONTACT COULD NOT DETERMINE HOW MUCH FUEL REMAINED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DEALER. THE DEALER (EDWARDS CHEVROLET 5499 HIGHWAY 280 EAST BIRMINGHAM AL 855-865-1395) STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
I RAN OUT OF FUEL WHILE THE GUAGE WAS READING 1/4 TANK WITH 100 MILE RANGE. AFTER FUELING THE GUAGE DID NOT SHOW PROPER LEVELS.
DUE TO CORROSION IN UNDERCARRIAGE THE PURGE VALVE AND FUEL SYSTEM ARE RUSTED OUT.FUEL LINE HAD TO BE REPLACED FRONT TO BACK AT A COST OF 1397.78 MECHANIC AT CHEVYDEALER SAID UNDERCARRIAGE IS VERY RUSTY. TRUCK HAS 40937 MI. TRUCK WAS NEVER DRIVEN IN SNOW OR WHEN ROADS WERE HEAVY SALTED.

I PURCHASED THE 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER THINKING I WOULD HAVE A GOOD DEPENDABLE CAR, NOT SO. THE STABIL-I TRAC CHECK LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN WHEN THE CAT IS RESTARTED IT GOES OFF. THE GAS GAUGE HAS DROPPED TO EMPTY AND WILL NO LONGER INDICATE FUEL IN TANK, THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL NOTICE ON THIS , HOWEVER GM IS ONLY PAYING FOR 50% OF THE COST OF REPAIR. I HAD AND ACCIDENT ($ 2400.00) DUE TO THIS GAS GAUGE FAILURE, NO ONE HURT BUT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS. GM WAS NOTIFIED AND A CLAIM FILED AND THE RESULTS WERE THEY WERE NOT AT FAULT. NOW THE LOWBEAM LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THE VEHICLE HAS GONE OUT. I HAVE HAD THE FUSES, SENSOR, AND THE BULBS CHECKED AND NO ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH GM AND THE FACT THAT THE CARS THEY PRODUCE NOW ARE SUBSTANDARD AND THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.WHERE DO I TURN NOW? I NEED MY VEHICLE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CORRECTED THE FAILURE YET THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE WEEKS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO AND THE GAS GAUGE HAS BEEN ACTING UP FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. I CAN FILL THE TRUCK ALL THE WAY UP WITH GAS, DRIVE IT HOME FROM THE GAS STATION(7 MILES) AND THE GAS GAUGE WILL BE READING ABOUT 3/4 TANK. WHEN I GO TO DRIVE IT THE NEXT DAY IT READS 1/2 TANK THEN BY THE TIME I GET TO THE INTERSTATE (15 MILES AWAY) IT WILL BE BETWEEN 3/4 AND FULL. I LOVE THE TRUCK BUT WISH CHEVY WOULD PUT A RECALL OUT ON THERE SENDING UNITS BECAUSE I KNOW PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR

THE ENGINE POWER WAS ALSO EXTREMELY SLOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK CAP NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED SECURELY AFTER REFUELING. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE FAULTY FUEL TANK SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND REPOSITIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT AND THEY OFFERED TO REIMBURSE FIFTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. UPDATED 05/11/12*LJ THE DEALER FOUND A LARGE EVAP LEAK AND THE VENT SOLENOID CIRCUIT WAS STUCK OPEN. UPDATED 06/01/12
I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2006 SILVERADO 1500 FROM A DEALER. WENT HOME WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS, WEEK LATER WENT TO FILL IT UP AND THE NEEDLE STOPPED HALFWAY BETWEEN 3/4 AND FULL AND IT WOULD NOT LET ME PUT IT IN. TRUCK HAD 14650 MILES ON IT WHEN IT STARTED AND NOW HAS 16450. STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND HAS BEEN TO THE DHOP 6 TIMES AND THEY HAVE REPLACED EVERY PART OF THE FUEL SYSTEM AND STILL NO BETTER. THE NEXT STEP IS TO BRING A GM REP IN TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG. *TR
THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS NEVER TURNED OFF.. NOW WE CAN'T TELL HOW MUCH FUEL THE VEHICLE HAS, IT DOESNT SHOW KEEPS SAYING LOW FUEL EVEN WHEN ITS FULL. THE GAGE THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH FUEL IT HAS IS STUCK ON THE EMPTY SIDE. I FEEL THAT THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IT HAS.
