I HAVE HAD THE 4TH DOOR LOCK FAIL AGAIN AND OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FROM GM AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX A KNOWN ISSUE. *TR
DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. ONE IS LOCATED BY THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. ANOTHER IS LOCATED NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE ONE NEAR THE AIRBAG IS PARTICULARLY WORRISOME. IN THE EVENT THAT THE AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY, JAGGED PIECES OF PLASTIC COULD PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG OR BE PROPELLED AT THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT OR CRASH. THESE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD SIMPLY APPEARED OVER TIME AND APPEAR TO BE VERY COMMON AMONG CHEVY TRUCKS IN THE MODEL YEARS OF 2007-2013. I CHECKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF INTERNET POSTS/FORUMS DISCUSSING THIS PROBLEM. GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR FIXING THIS DEFECT.
I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY AND EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT FROM ONE OF MY HANKOOK TIRES MODEL DYNAPRO AS TIRES. SEVERE BODY DAMAGE ALL ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF MY TRUCK WAS THE RESULT OF THIS ACCIDENT, AS I WAS PULLED INTO A CONCRETE MEDIAN BARRIER. *TR
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES GOING DOWN A MOUNTAINS, THE FRONT END STARTED SHAKING, IT SEEMED LIKE THE FRONT END WAS FALLING OUT. .I HAD THE TRUCK CHECKED OUT, THE FIRST TIME GM HAD THE ROTARS TURNED THEY SAID THEY WERE WARPED. THIS HAPPENED 2 MORE TIMES AND IT HAPPENS WHEN I TRAVEL TO TN OR VA OR WEST VA. THESE LAST 2 TIMES I HAD IT FIXED AT MY EXPENSE. I FINALLY HAD NEW ROTARS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE . I MADE A TRIP TO FL . AND HAD TO GO THROUGH TN , WHICH IS UP AND DOWN MOUNTAINS. ;AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN WITH THE BRAKES. IT WAS 1 YEAR OLD THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED. IT WAS TAKEN TO GM DEALER THE FIRST 2 TIMES. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 63000 MILES ON IT. AND THE ONLY THING IN THE TRUCK IS MY WIFE AND I AND THE DOG AND OUR CLOTHES. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, ALL FOUR LOCKS ON THE VEHICLE LOCKED AND UNLOCKED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURES RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DASH HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS THAT MAY CAUSE INJURIES TO ANY BODY PART THAT CONTACTS IT DUE TO SHARP EDGES. IT MAY ALSO CAUSE INJURY DURING A CRASH AND POSSIBLY BY AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A PROBLEM ON MOST OF THESE VEHICLES. THESE CRACKS DEVELOPED WITHOUT PHYSICAL FORCE OR ANY INDUCED DAMAGE. THE CRACKS HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SUDDENLY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS, INTERIOR LIGHTS, AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD SHUT OFF AND FLASHED OFF AND ON. IN ADDITION, THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD ERRONEOUSLY LOCK AND UNLOCK. ALSO, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD RANDOMLY ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURES PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
7:10 A.M. TUESDAY MORNING, I HIT BLACK ICE AND LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. I PROCEEDED TO SLIDE UNCONTROLLABLY ACROSS THE ROAD. I THEN HIT A CLIFF WITH THE FRONT END OF MY VEHICLE, ONCE I HIT THE THE CLIFF MY VEHICLE THEN FLIPPED IN THE AIR AND LANDED ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE I HAD LANDED ON THE PAVEMENT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CAME ALONG PROCEEDING AT AROUND 45 MPH. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO HIT THE HOOD OF MY VEHICLE. THE DRIVER HIT MY HOOD DIRECTLY WITH THE FRONT END OF HIS VEHICLE. DURING THE WHOLE INCIDENT, I HAD MY SEATBELT ON. ALSO IT WAS INDICATED THAT MY AIR BAGS WERE ONE AND FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE ITSELF WAS TOTALED AND I SUSTAINED WHIPLASH, A SLIGHT CONCUSSION, SEVERE BRUISES AND CUTS, AND ALSO RECEIVED A CHIPPED TOOTH FROM HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL WITH MY FACE. *TR
STARTED ACTING LIKE IT WAS FUEL STARVED. MECHANIC SAID FUEL PUMP. GOING UPHILL OR UNDER STRAIN BEGAN JERKING. WHEN LEVELED OUT TRUCK DID FINE. MECHANIC SAID PUMP IN TANK NOW SOCK GONE BAD. SEEN A LOT OF THESE GO BAD. *TR

THE DOORS FAILED TO LOCK WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO GEAR AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK WHEN SHIFTED INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,800.
AIRBAGS SERVICE LIGHT IS ON. CONTACTED DEALER ABOUT RECALL. MY TRUCK WAS WITHIN VIN RANGE BUT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT SOLD UP NORTH THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. ONE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND TWO DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. THE COMPUTER HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE. THE INJECTOR REPLACED. THE FUEL RAIL REPLACED. AC UNIT REPLACED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND CHECKED 17 TIMES FOR DEALERS TO NOT BE ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEM. STABILITRACK PROBLEM LIGHT BEEN ON ALONG WITH ABS LIGHT. THIS ALL STARTED WITH LESS THAN 2000 MILES. DEALERS WAS HELPFUL WHILE UNDER WARRANTY BUT COULD NOT CARE LESS NOW. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 35 MPH THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THERE WAS NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM IS THAT A LEFT FRONT IMPACT SENSOR HAS GONE BAD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY STARTING THE VEHICLE DUE TO A FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUSE BOX CAUGHT ON FIRE AND MELTED THE HARNESS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
WHILE DRIVING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, I SUDDENLY LOST BOTH POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO GET BACK INTO MY DRIVEWAY, BUT WITH CONSIDERABLE EFFORT. I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD FAILED, CAUSING THE POWER BRAKES TO FAIL, ALSO. THE POWER STEERING PUMP SHAFT BROKE. I USE THE TRUCK MOSTLY TO TOW A HORSE TRAILER. I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED HAD THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MY WAY TO A CAMP SITE ON A CURVING TWO LANE ROAD. I RESEARCHED THE FAILURE ON LINE AND DISCOVERED IT IS NOT A RARE OCCURRENCE, AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO SEVERAL MODEL YEAR CHEVROLET TRUCKS. THIS IS A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE I PURCHASED NEW. IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED OR MISUSED. *TR
MOTOR KNOCKS AND IS USING OIL A LOT OF OIL AND THE DASH LIGHT FLICKER WITH THE SWITCH. *TR
NOTICED RATHER LARGE CRACK ON 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO LTZ DASH BOARD ON THE DRIVER SIDE HUMP OF THE DASH AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. DEALER ESTIMATED AT THE MINIMUM OF $400 REPAIR. COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE HARM IF EVER IN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND BECAME STUCK CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO FIVE OTHER VEHICLES. THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

THE LCD DIC INDICATED STABILITRAK OFF AND SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM MESSAGES. TRIED ENGAGING AND DISENGAGING BOTH THE PARKING BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL WITH NO CHANGE. WHEN THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ENGAGED HOWEVER, THE SOUNDER BEGAN SOUNDING AGAIN AND WHEN DISENGAGED IT WOULD SHUT OFF. SERVICE BRAKES, ROTORS AND CALIPERS WERE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 4000-4500 MILES AGO. FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS ABOUT 1000 MILES AGO. HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES TOTAL. POSSIBLE BAD ABS SENSOR? *TR
3 OF 4 ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS DO NOT WORK. MULTIPLE MESSAGE BOARDS WITH PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS NO LONGER WORKING ON THIS MODEL/YEAR. SAFETY CONCERN AS I HAVE TO CLIMB INTO BACK SEAT TO UNLOCK DOORS WHEN MY CHILDREN ARE IN THE BACK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ENGINE OIL WAS BEING CONSUMED PREMATURELY. THE CONTACT HAD TO REPLACE THE OXYGEN SENSOR MORE THAN ONCE DUE TO THE PREMATURE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXCEEDED THE MILEAGE THAT PROVIDED THE NEWLY DESIGNED OIL PIN AND NEW VALVE COVERS THAT THEY WERE OFFERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
IN 2013 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT 2 MONTHS AFTER 3YR WARRANTY LESS THAN 20 THOUSAND MILES CALLED CHEVY WOULD NOT HELP ME. REPLACED TRANSMISSION NOW 2017 TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN. MY DOORS DON'T UNLOCK PASSENGER WINDOW DON'T GO DOWN I WOULD NEVER BUY A CHEVY AGAIN I WAS DRIVING BOTH TIMES AND IT LEFT ME STRANDED.
MY TRUCK STAYED PARKED FOR 10 DAYS WHILE ON VACATION. IT WAS RUNNING FINE WHEN I PARKED IT. UPON RETURNING FROM VACATION I TRIED TO START IT AND NOTHING! IT WONT EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. AFTER HAVING A PRIVATE MECHANIC LOOK AT IT HE SAID THE FUSE BLOCK UNDER THE HOOD HAS A SHORT IN IT. HOW CAN IT SHORT OUT JUST SITTING THERE? THIS COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD & A SAFETY ISSUE!! I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN & IF I WERE DRIVING & IT CAUGHT ON FIRE WE ALL COULD BE INJURED!!!!!! THIS SHOULD OPEN GM'S EYES TO HAVE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. *TR

MAJOR CRACK ON INTERIOR DASHBOARD. COMPANY (GM) REFUSES TO ISSUE RECALL.
DASH STARTING CRACKING AROUND PASSENGER AIR BAG THREE YEARS AGO AND IS NOW CRACKING IN TWO MORE PLACES ABOVE THE RADIO. GM REFUSES TO MAKE ANY EFFORT TO HELP WITH THE OUTRAGEOUS COST OF REPAIRING THIS DEFECT. I HAVE GREAT CONCERNS ABOUT SHARDS OF PLASTIC FLYING IN CAB FROM THE RECALLED TOKATA AIR BAGS THAT ARE IN THIS VEHICLE THAT I AM STILL WAITING ON GM TO COME UP WITH A REPLACEMENT FOR.
THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. WHEN I TAKE THE TRUCK TO CHEVY DEALER THEY SAY THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO FIX PROBLEM AND OUT OF LUCK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN MOMENTARILY AND CAME BACK. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD WENT DARK, HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF, DOOR LOCKS CYCLED UP AND DOWN, AND RADIO TURNED OFF AND BACK ON. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS BATTERY CABLES NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AS THERE WAS HIGH RESISTANCE. SEARCHING ONLINE FOR SIMILAR STATEMENTS SHOWS THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS IT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. WORKING WITH GM CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THIS, THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIRS WHICH TOTALED $478.95. THIS IS NOT A PART THAT SHOULD FAIL AFTER LESS THAN 5 YEARS. MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT LOCK/UNLOCK. HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. THE DOOR CAN BE OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING 70 MPH. THIS IS ALSO A SECURITY ISSUE. I CAN LOCK THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB ONLY TO LEARN THAT THE REAR DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. IF I LOCK IT MANUALLY, THEN IT WILL NOT OPEN WITH THE KEY FOB. THIS IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE, I HAVE TO UNLOCK IT MANUALLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. I HAVE A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LIKE MANY OTHERS I HAVE A CRACKED DASHBOARD. ONE OF THEM IS A SMALL CRACK NEXT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ANOTHER MUCH LARGER ONE IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ABOVE THE GAUGES. I'VE ALWAYS KEPT MY DASHBOARD COVERED WHEN IT WAS PARKED WITH A COVER THAT GOES ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD AND USED A PRODUCT PROTECT AND KEEP THE DASHBOARD NEW. TO ME IT SEEMS LIKE THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM IMPROPERLY PLACED SCREWS AND CLASPS OR POSSIBLY AN INFERIOR MATERIAL FOR THE DASHBOARD.

THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED UPON RESTARTING. THERE WAS A VERY STRONG GASOLINE SMELL WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING. WHILE LOOKING FOR THE SOURCE, I NOTICED FUEL SPRAYING OUT UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE THAT WAS LEAKING. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS A DEIGN FLAW, A DEFECT IN THE PART OR POOR WORKMANSHIP, BUT IT COULD HAVE HAD SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES IF THE FUEL HAD IGNITED, WHICH WAS POSSIBLE WITH THE PRESSURE AND VOLUME OF THE LEAK. IT WAS REPLACED WITHOUT CHARGE DUE TO IT BEING A "SAFETY FACTOR". THE TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEN IN EXTREME CONDITIONS. I HAD NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING, AND CANNOT THINK OF ANY REASON FOR THE FUEL LINE TO RUPTURE. *TR

SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES OVER 2 DAYS AND IS NOW ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON. *TR
ENGINE LOST POWER, RATTLING BADLY. AFTER STOPPING, ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING, BUT HAD NO POWER AND RATTLED LIKE A LIFTER BLEW. TOWED TO DEALER, WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CAMSHAFT BLEW AND DAMAGED #7 LIFTER. THE TECH SAID IT WAS A "MATERIALS DEFECT/FAILURE". 1.5 MONTHS OUT OF POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. GM IS GIVING ME GRIEF OVER TAKING CARE OF THE $3000.00 REPAIR BILL. THEY ARE OFFERING ONLY $1800.00, BUT A MATERIALS DEFECT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MANUFACTURER. TRUCK ONLY HAS 63000 + MILES ON IT.
THE DASHBOARD HAS THREE MAJOR CRACKS IN IT. TWO AROUND THE AIR BAG AND ONE ABOVE THE STEERING COLUMN.
I PURCHASED MY 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO CREW CAB BACK IN 20011. IT HAD APPROX. 70,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. A FEW MONTHS AGO I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I COULD LOCK THE DOORS BUT NOT UNLOCK THEM. THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER, MY DRIVERS SIDE SPEAKER WENT OUT COMPLETELY. I AM ALSO UNABLE TO MOVE THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE MIRRORS IN ALL DIRECTIONS WHEN THEY NEED TO BE ADJUSTED. MY CRUISE CONTROL ALSO HAS RECENTLY STARTED WORKING OFF AND ON. MY PASSENGER SIDE SPEAKER HAS JUST RECENTLY STARTED GOING IN AND OUT.
