TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AFTER BEING INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE SPECIFICS OF THE CRASH WERE NOT AVAILABLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, THE NECK, AND THE BACK THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,687.
2008 CHEVY SILVERADO 4X4 WT. DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY DURING CRASH. VEHICLE IMPACT WAS ON THE FRONT. A FATALITY OCCURRED DURING THIS CRASH. (PASSENGER IN OTHER VEHICLE) POINT OF IMPACT WAS FRONT OF SILVERADO INTO PASSENGER SIDE OF OTHER VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AFTER WORKING A VERY LONG DAY AND I FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL AND WENT OFF THE SIDE OF 225. ALL I REMEMBER WAS WAKING UP IN BETWEEN TREES ABOUT TWO FEET AWAY FROM SIMS BAYOU. MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *TR
ALL FOUR DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK BY PRESSING THE LOCK BUTTON ON EITHER FRONT DOORS OR BY USING THE REMOTE WHEN STOPPED. IT SCARES ME AS A PARENT OF A SEVEN YEAR OLD THAT THE DOORS MAY NOT LOCK WHEN NEEDED AND MY CHILD COULD ACCIDENTALLY OPEN THE DOOR WHEN DRIVING ANYWHERE AT ANY SPEED. FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS THIS REALLY CONCERNS ME BECAUSE IF WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT WHAT IF THE DOORS COULDN'T UNLOCK BY BUTTON OR MANUALLY OR LOCK TO KEEP PASSENGERS IN WHILE DRIVING. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT REALLY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY GM AND AN ACTION TAKEN INTO AFFECT TO CORRECT THIS FAULTY ISSUE OR PARTS. *TR
TAKATA INFLATORS RECALL NOTICE. DEALER SERVICE HASN'T RECEIVED A FIX AND WE CHECK EVERY YEAR SINCE RECALL NOTICE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE IN THE DRIVEWAY, IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE WAS TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKAGE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED OVER A FOUR MONTH PERIOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK BUT A REMEDY COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.
I WAS HIT FROM FRONT DRIVER SIDE WITH A TRAIL BLAZER. AFTER REPAIR ABOUT A COUPLE WEEKS MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIT UP ON MY DASH. I BELIEVE THIS MAY BE FROM HER HITTING MY TRUCK FRONT END. MAYBE. WHEN IT WAS REPAIRED THEY MIGHT OF PULLED OR BLEW SENSOR . I PAID FOR COMPUTER DIAGNOSIS AND THEN TOLD INSURANCE COMPANY. THEY SAID I WOULD GET MONEY. BACK IF RELATED. TO ACCIDENT. THEY SAID NOT RELATED AND I WON'T GET MY MONEY BACK. ALSO INSURANCE. SAID THIS IS AN OCCURRING. PROBLEM. WITH MY 2008 TRUCK. HOWEVER NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAIN SO GM WON'T CALL A RECALL. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CRASH, BUT THE CONTACT SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 MILES/HR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPPED ON AND MY CAR SLOWED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO AROUND 30MILES/HR ALMOST CREATING AND ACCIDENT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT READS "ENGINE POWER REDUCED". *TR
A CRACK HAS FORMED AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE AIRBAG AREA, ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH. *TR
CRACKS IN THE DASH AROUND FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. IF AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED IN THE EVENT OF A FRONT END COLLISION, PIECES OF THE DASH CAN COME LOOSE AND CAUSE ADDITIONAL INJURIES, OR POSSIBLY DAMAGE THE AIR BAG DURING DEPLOYMENT. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT THAT AIRBAG NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. HAD THE PROBLEM TRACED AT A DEALER AND FOUND THAT IT IS THE AIRBAG SENSING UNIT ON THE PASSENGER FRONT BEHIND THE BUMPER WHICH IS DEFECTIVE / RUSTED AND NOT WORKING. WAS ALSO TOLD BY NOT HAVING THIS FIXED MY AIR BAGS WOULD NOT WORK SINCE THE SYSTEM IS SOMEHOW TIED TOGETHER WITH THE OTHER SENSORS. COST TO HAVE FIXED IS $250 FOR A SWITCH INSTALL / SENSOR INSTALL ! I AM BRINGING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE I AM AWARE OF OTHER VEHICLES, SAME YEAR WITH THIS SAME ISSUE !
I ORDERED A MEVOTECH CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY FROM AN ONLINE DEALER 6 MONTHS AGO. THE BALL JOINT FAILED AND SHEARED IN HALF CAUSING A GOOD AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. I WORKED WITH THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE PART FROM AND THEY ARE NOT COVERING THE COSTS FOR THE DAMAGE CAUSED DUE TO THE FAILING PART. NOW THE COMPANY WHO MADE THE PART IS ALSO SAYING THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE DAMAGES. MY WHOLE TRUCK CAME SLAMMING DOWN ON THE TIRE AND DAMAGED WHEEL WELL COMPONENTS (FENDER LINER), THE FENDER FLARE, AND GASHED MY TIRE AND RIM. I HAD TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED HOME BECAUSE IT WAS INOPERABLE. *TR
I WAS COMING HOME FROM A TRIP AND AS I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY I HEARD THIS LOUD BANG AND METAL FLYING AND HITTING THE GROUND. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF TO INVESTIGATE AND FOUND UNDER MY TRUCK A 25-INCH PIECE OF METAL BELONGING TO THE SUSPENSION - LEAF SPRING SYSTEM THAT COULD BE CLEARLY SEEN AS RUSTED THROUGH. I AM VERY FORTUNATE FOR THIS TO OCCUR IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY, LOSS OF CONTROL TO THE VEHICLE OR SOMEONE BEHIND MY VEHICLE GETTING HIT BY THIS HEAVY PIECE OF METAL WAS A GOOD POSSIBILITY ! I CALLED A COUPLE OF DEALERS TO GET THIS REPLACED AND FOUND ONE THAT COULD TAKE ME IN RIGHT AWAY. THERE CONCLUSION WAS THE LEAF SPRING HAD RUSTED AND I STILL HAVE IN MY POSSESSION THE PIECE THAT RUSTED AND CAME OFF. THE TOTAL COST OF THIS REPLACEMENT FOR BOTH LEAF SPRINGS BEING REPLACED WAS $951.83 I AM BRINGING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE I AM AWARE OF A VERY SIMILAR RECALL WITH TOYOTA TRUCKS YEARS 1995-2011 FOR LEAF SPRING FAILURE DO TO RUSTING ! I JUST USE THIS VEHICLE FOR MY DAILY DRIVER, NO HEAVY LIFTING OR HAULING JUST 12- MILES A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK AND SOME TRIPS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. TRUCK ONLY HAD 53000 MILES AT TIME OF INCIDENT. *TR
WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION WHEN THE RECALL FOR TAKATA AIRBAGS WILL BE WILL BE RESOLVED
I STOPPED AT A STORE ON MY WAY HOME LAST NIGHT AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED IT, IT MADE A NOISE LIKE IT WOULD IF YOU TURNED THE KEY AND THE ENGINE WAS ALREADY RUNNING. I HAD THE SAME RESPONSE FROM STARTING IT THIS MORNING AFTER IT SAT IN MY GARAGE ALL NIGHT. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 56,000 MILES ON IT AND GETS REGULAR MAINTENANCE...I'D HATE TO THINK I'VE GOT TO REPLACE THE STARTER ALREADY. IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS I'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH THE "CHECK ENGINE / GAS CAP" THING AND REPLACED THE IMPACT SENSOR FOR THE AIR BAG. EVERY WEEK I GET CLOSER TO TRADING IN FOR A NEW FORD. *TR
PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT I STARTED TO ACCELERATE, TO GET INTO TRAFFIC I HEARD A HORN AND LOOKED OVER, ONLY TO RUN STRAIGHT INTO A LIGHT POLE. IT WAS A PRETTY STRONG IMPACT. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND MY FACE AND HEAD HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN IT JUST STOPPED NO NOTICE. THE NEXT WEEK THE WINDOWS IN THE BACK SEAT WILL GO DOWN BUT NOT UP DRIVER SIDE HAS TO ROLL UP. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK WON'T WORK DRIVER HAS TO UNLOCK.
I HAVE TWO VEHICLES THAT DID THE EXACT SAME THING IN THE EXACT LOCATION ABOUT 2 WEEKS APART. I HAVE A 2009 GMC YUKON AND A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING, WE HEARD A LOUD POP. AFTER INVESTIGATING WHAT HAD HAPPENED WE NOTICED THE DASH BOARD WAS CRACKED OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD AIRBAG. THIS HAPPENED IN THE YUKON 1ST THEN 2 WEEKS LATER IT HAPPENED IN THE TRUCK. SAME CRACK, SAME LOUD POP, SAME LOCATION ON THE DASHBOARD. FEARING THAT THE AIRBAG WILL COME OUT AT ANY MOMENT, I CALLED PREMIER CHEVROLET IN BESSEMER ALABAMA. THEY SAID THIS WAS NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY NOR ANY RECALL. THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED, "THAT SUCKS FOR YOU". THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT I FEEL I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR. HOW IN THE WORLD CAN A AIRBAG POPPING THE DASHBOARD IN TWO OF MY VEHICLES BE A CUSTOMER PROBLEM? IF THIS AIRBAG FULLY DEPLOYS AND INJURES OR KILLS ONE OF MY KIDS THEN WHAT? THIS HAS TO BE A GM RECALL. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. PLEASE CALL ME ANYTIME FOR FURTHER DETAILS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING NOISES AND SHAKING. WE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TO FIND OUT THE ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY THE LIFTERS WHICH ARE BEING HOUSED BY PLASTIC. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC LIFTERS SHOULD BE HELD BY METAL NOT PLASTIC DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE REQUIREMENT ON THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. USING PLASTIC TO HOUSE THE LIFTERS IS A BOUND ISSUE. OTHER PARTS AFFECTED OR THAT HAD TO BE CHANGED DUE TO THIS ISSUE (CAM, HEAD SET, GUIDES, TIMER, SET WIRE, SET HEAD, COOLANT, OIL AND FILTER). IT COST US $3,911.04 TO GET THE TRUCK FIXED SINCE THE ENGINE BASICALLY HAD TO BE REMOVED TO GET TO THE LIFTERS. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED IF THE LIFTERS WERE STABILIZED IN THE CORRECT TYPE OF MATERIAL. WE FEEL A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE FOR THIS ISSUE AND WE SHOULD BE REIMBURSED. *TR

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V827000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR DID NOT NEED TO BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14E036000 (SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DRUM:SHOES/LININGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED WITH ABOUT 66,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND I FOUND AN EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CODE STORED. I CLEARED THE CODE AND WENT ABOUT MY BUSINESS. NOT LONG AFTER, I WENT TO FILL THE TRUCK WITH FUEL AND GASOLINE SPILLED OUT FROM THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK WITHOUT COMING UP THE FILLING NECK. WHEN I GOT AROUND TO TAKING THE TANK OFF THE TRUNK TO LOOK FOR THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE, I FOUND THAT THE TOP PLATE OF THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND LEFT AN APPROXIMATE 1" X 1/2" HOLE WHERE FUEL AND VAPOR WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL SENDING UNIT FOR THE VEHICLE. I AM REPLACING THE UNIT WITH A DELPHI SENDING UNIT WITH A PLASTIC TOP; HOPING THAT THIS WILL PREVENT FUTURE LEAKS OF THIS NATURE. *TR
THE LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD READS CHECK AIRBAGS AND WILL NOT GO OFF. *TR
MY DASH IS CRACKED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF AIRBAG. THIS HAPPENED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. THE DASH NOW IS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES ON THE LEFT SIDE OF AIRBAG AND ALSO ON DRIVERSIDE OF DASH. I HAVE CONTACTED DEALER AND ALSO GENERAL MOTORS WHEN I FIRST NOTICED THIS IN 2014. I ALSO CONTACTED THEM AGAIN IN 2015, I WAS TOLD THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. MY CONCERN IS THEY TOLD ME THAT I KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM AND I NEED TO FIX THIS OR I AM RESPONSIBLE IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG DEPLOYING OR A PIECE OF THE DASH INJURING SOMEONE IN THE EVENT THAT THE AIRBAG DOES DEPLOY. I FEEL THIS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
THE FRONT AIRBAG IMPACT SENSOR HAS FAILED. THE HOUSING HAS CRACKED AND THE BOLT THAT SECURES IT IS CORRODED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON DEFECT WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF TRUCK. I'M CONCERNED THAT THIS WILL CAUSE MY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY UNABATED. GM HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL ON THIS PART AS OF YET, BUT THIS IS IN MY OPINION A SERIOUS MANUFACTURERS DEFECT IN DESIGN OF THIS PART. I REFUSE TO PAY THE NEAREST GM DEALER $350 TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM PART. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO FULLY ACCELERATE HOWEVER, IT MOVED SLOWLY AND THEN STALLED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED A BURNING ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH FRONT CALIPERS, THE CORES, THE ROTORS AND THE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN AGAIN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER, BOTH REAR BRAKE HOSES, THE WHEEL CYLINDER, THE FRONT CYLINDER, THE BRAKE MONITOR VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,387. UPDATED 02/10/16*LJ *CN
TIRE TREAD IS DETERIORATING, CHUNKS OF TREAD IS FLAKING AND FALLING OFF TIRE. FOUND A SECTION OF TREAD ON SECOND AND THIRD LINE OF TREAD THAT IS STARTING TO SEPARATE FROM TIRE. TRUCK HAS BARELY 10,000 MILES ON ORIGINAL TIRES WITH VERY GOOD TREAD, TRUCK HAS AIR PRESSURE MONITOR AND IS CHECKED REGULARLY. TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE. I WANT TO GET THEM REPLACED, BEFORE AN ACCIDENT, DAMAGE OR DEATH OCCURS! *TR
SERVICE AIR BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE LEARNED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSORS IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ARE KNOWN FOR GOING BAD. THE OEM PART CRACKS AND CAUSES FAILURE AND LOSS OF THE AIR BAG FUNCTION. ALSO WITH RESEARCH I LEARNED THAT GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO IMPROVE OR FIX THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD CONDUCT A SAFETY RECALL ON THESE SENSORS SO THEIR PRODUCT DOES NOT FAIL AND THE PASSENGERS INSIDE THE VEHICLE STAY PROTECTED. *TR
FIRESTONE TIRE P245/70R17 108S M+ S DESTINATION LE FOR YOUR INFORMATION WHILE DRIVING THE INSIDE LANE OF I-20 HERE IN ALABAMA AUGUST 23, 2014 AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES AN HOUR WHEN MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND GET OFF THE INTERSTATE. THE TIRE BLEW OUT JUST BELOW THE THREAD, OUTSIDE WALL. HOLE IS APPROXIMATELY THE SIZES OF A TWENTY FIVE CENT PIECE. I HAD AN EXPERIENCE TIRE PROFESSIONAL LOOK AT THE TIRE; HE SAID THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT BLEW. THE OTHER THREE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE FIRESTONES IDENTICAL TO THIS ONE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THE AUTO WITH THESE TIRES? SINCE AUGUST I HAVE NOTICED APPROXIMATELY 5-6 INCIDENCES WHEN THERE WAS A BRIEF FAILURE IN THE IGNITION OF THE TRUCK CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY A SECOND TIME. IT HAS STARTED CORRECTLY ON THE 2ND TRY, SO FAR. HOWEVER, EACH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED, I'VE NOTICED THAT THE CLOCK WENT BACK TO DEFAULT. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME NOR DOES THERE APPEAR TO BE A PATTERN FOR WHEN IT HAPPENS SUCH AS DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE, A LONG DISTANCE OR THE FIRST START UP OF THE DAY, ETC. I'M NOT GETTING ANY MALFUNCTION WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE IS UP TO DATE ON INSPECTIONS AND MAINTENANCE. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH AN AFTER FACTORY ELECTRIC BRAKE UNIT. I AM THE 2ND OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, IT HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS NOR HAS IT HAD ANY OTHER MALFUNCTIONS. *TR

DASHBOARD STARTED A SMALL CRACK ON TOP OF DASHBOARD SURROUNDING THERE PASSENGER AIRBAG. ANOTHER CRACK STARTED ON TOP DASHBOARD AND TRAVELED TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE DASH IS NOW SEPARATED INTO TWO PIECES. THE DEALER EXPLAINED MY WARRANTY EXCLUDED TRIM AND COULD NOT WARRANTY THE PART. NO ACCIDENT OR TRAUMA WAS THE CAUSE. GENERAL MOTORS WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY WERE NOT ANY HELP IN THIS MATTER. I NOW FEAR SHARP PLASTIC WILL BE EXPELLED IN THE CAB IF AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED.

I REVERSED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO A TWO LANE ROAD. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO A GM DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE SPRAG CLUTCH FAILED AND SENT METAL PIECES THROUGH THE REST OF THE TRANSMISSION TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS UNREPAIRABLE. THEY PUT A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION IN. THEN THEY DISCOVERED THE TRUCK WOULD STILL NOT MOVE. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS LOCKED UP TOO AND NEEDED TO BE COMPLETELY REBUILT. I ENDED UP PAYING $4,765.89 TO REPAIR A 2008 TRUCK WITH 89,437 MILES ON IT. *TR
I GET THE "SERVICE AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT. THE AIR BAGS HAVE ALREADY GONE OUT AND WILL NOT DEPLOY AS LONG AS THE LIGHT IS ON. THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN TAKEN VERY GOOD CARE OF AND DRIVEN VERY FEW MILES, BUT YET THE WARNING LIGHT IS ON AFTER THE DEAL HAD ALREADY MADE A SERVICE BULLETIN REPAIR TO THE SYSTEM. THE DEALER (GASTORF IN WARRENTON, MO) WILL NOT REPAIR IT WITHOUT PAYING UP TO ABOUT $500 (APPROX. MAXIMUM COST), WHICH I CAN NOT AFFORD AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CONSIDER REPAIRING. I BELIEVE AIR BAG ITEMS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT "JUST BREAK" FOR NO REASON. *TR
TURNED KEY TO ON POSITION STARTED TRUCK AND AIR BAG WARNING WOULD NOT GO OFF. FRONT SENSOR WAS CRACKED. REPLACED IT ON MY OWN!!!!!!! *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 3 PLACES, ONE OF WHICH IS TOUCHING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THE CRACKED EDGES OF THE PLASTIC ARE SHARP AND WOULD DO SERIOUS DAMAGE TO A PASSENGER IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT AND/OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THE TRUCK IS VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IS KEPT CLEAN AND WELL SERVICED. THE DASHBOARD CRACKED WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED. ONE OF THE CRACKS IS IN THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD AND SPLITS THE DASH INTO TWO PIECES.
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, WAITING TO ENTER ROAD, DASHBOARD LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE AND SMOKE STARTED POURING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. TURNED VEHICLE OFF, CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND IT WAS TAKEN TO OUR MECHANIC. THE SEALED INTERNAL FUSE BOX AND WIRING HARNESS CONECTIONS HAD CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED, DAMAGING THE MAIN FUSE PANEL THAT COSTS $450 TO REPLACE AND THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS CONNECTED TO THE FUSE BOX. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FILED BY OTHER SILVERADO OWNERS FOR THE SAME REASON BUT THEIR VEHICLES COMPLETELY BURNED TO THE GROUND. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO INJURED OR KILLED BY THIS BEFORE THERE IS A RECALL? PLEASE HELP! *TR
