TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED THE TK HOLDINGS LEGAL NOTICE AND CANNOT PERFORM THE REQUIRED REPLIES TO THE COMPANY AS PER THE CHAPTER11 REQUESTS TO THE COMPANY. WHEN I TRY IT STARTS DOWNLOADING HUNDREDS OF PAGES. IT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I HAVE TO SHUT DOWN MY COMPUTER. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS AN EXISTING PROBLEM, BUT IT SEEMS THAT NOTHING WILL GET DONE ABOUT IT. IF I CAN'T FILL OUT THE FORMS THEN THEY WILL BE FOREVER "FREE AND CLEAR".
TAKATA RECALL, IN MAY 2016 WE WERE INFORMED THAT OUR AIRBAGS WERE AFFECTED IN THE LARGE RECALL, AND THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE YET. NOW ITS NOVEMBER 2017 AND WE RECEIVED NOTICE OF A LAW SUIT AGAINST TAKATA. I RECHECKED THE STATUS AT THE CHEVROLET WEBSITE AND IT IS STILL SAYING NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF THIS VEHICLE IS IN AN ACCIDENT. WHEN WILL THERE BE A REMEDY AND WHO WOULD CONTACT ME?
AIRBAG RECALL RECEIVED IN MAIL, CALLED TWO DEALERS AND SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLACE AND TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE!!! WANTED TO BE ON RECORD WITH COMPLAINT IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY DUE TO FAULTY AIRBAGS. WAITING FOR MORE INFO YOUR PROMPT ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER WILL BE EXPECTED!
TAKATA RECALL CALLED THE DEALER (AUTONATION/CORPUS CHRISTI) AFTER MAKING FIVE CALLS ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND LEAVING MESSAGES WITH NO CALL BACKS FINALLY SPOKE TO JACKIE WHO INFORMED ME THAT THERE IS NO PART AVAILABLE FROM GM AND COULD NOT PROVIDE ME ANY INFORMATION AS TO WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE.

WE RECEIVED NOTICE IN JULY OF 2016 OF THE AIRBAGS BEING DEFECTIVE, AND THAT WE WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO REMEDY MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, WE NEVER RECEIVED THAT NOTICE. IT OFFERED ME TO CHECK WITH MY LOCAL DEALER FOR UPDATES, AND TO CHECK THEIR WEBSITE. EVERY TIME I CHECKED THE WEBSITE, IT READ IT STILL READ REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE. IT STILL SAYS THAT TODAY. I ALSO TRIED CALLING MY LOCAL DEALER, LOU BACHRODT CHEVROLET BUICK MONTHS AGO. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION AND THEY (TAKATA) HAVE UNTIL AUGUST OR SEPTEMBER OF 2017 TO COME UP WITH AN ACTION PLAN OR A RESULT. TODAY I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS, THAT TAKATA HAS FILED CHAPTER 11. THE RESALE VALUE OF MY TRUCK IS HIGHLY DETERIORATED. TAKATA RECALL ANDY MOHR CHEVROLET OF PLAINFIELD, IN IS AWARE OF THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG/AIRBAGS AND ARE UNABLE TO LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE PARTS. I FILED A CLAIM AT THE TAKATA SITE BASED ON A MAILING I RECEIVED STATING THAT TAKATA IS FILING BANKRUPTCY. WHEN WILL REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS BE MADE AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE AND WILL SOMEONE LET ME KNOW WHEN THEY ARE MADE AVAILABLE? OBVIOUSLY, I AND ANY DRIVER OF MY VEHICLE IS AT RISK SINCE MY AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED.

IN 2018 MY CHILD WAS IN THE SILVERADO GOING TO AN INTERVIEW ON HWY, WHEN A CAR HIT HER. A VERY HARD IMPACT. IT CAUSED HER KNEE PROBLEM, BACK PROBLEM , NECK PROBLEM AND HEAD ACHES. WE NOTICE THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLORED. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE POLICE REPORT.

MAY 27, 2016 TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE WAS MADE KNOWN TO US. I'VE CONTACTED GM ABOUT THE ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAIL. THEY SIMPLY RECOMMEND NO ONE SHOULD SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. INSANE. WE WENT THROUGH MASSIVE FLOODING IN OUR AREA AUGUST 29, 2017, HURRICANE HARVEY, IN PORT ARTHUR TX. HUMIDITY IS OF GRAVE CONCERN IN THIS AREA GIVEN THE AFFECT IT HAS ON AIRBAGS. WE NEED A SOLUTION IMMEDIATELY! THEY NEED TO MAKE REPAIRS TO THESE VEHICLES AT ONCE, WITHOUT DELAY. OTHERWISE, YOU ARE EQUALLY GUILTY OF MAIMING PEOPLE WHEN THESE AIRBAGS GO OFF, ESPECIALLY THOSE AFFECTED BY HURRICANE HARVEY WITH ALL THE MOISTURE VEHICLES ENCOUNTERED HERE MONTHS ON END. THE MANUFACTURER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO RICK HENDRICKS CHEVROLET OF BUFORD (4490 S LEE ST, BUFORD, GA 30518 (678) 394-3117) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT WATER DAMAGED THE MODULES AND THE DRAIN TUBES ON THE SUN ROOF WERE CLOGGED, WHICH CAUSED THAT CURTAIN AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL FOUR CURTAIN AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 174,131.

AFTER CONTACTING PERFORMANCE CHEVROLET (4811 MADISON AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA) AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
EXPERIENCING SPORADIC ISSUES WITH MY TRUCKS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IS THAT AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED), I WILL HEAR A LOUD "POP" (SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE A DESKTOP COMPUTER LOSING POWER) AND THEN MY DASHBOARD/MONITOR SCREEN WILL GO DARK AND AFTER A SPLIT SECOND EVERYTHING COME BACK ON. THE DASHBOARD WILL FLASH ON AND OFF FOR A FEW MORE SECONDS. ABOUT EVERY THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENS, IF I PARK THE CAR AND TRY TO RESTART IT IT WON'T TURN OVER. IN THESE INSTANCES, I CAN HEAR CURRENT CYCLING THROUGH MY POWER DOOR LOCK SWITCH ALONG WITH AN ELECTRIC CLICKING NOISE THAT WON'T STOP. IF I LET THE TRUCK SIT FOR 15 MINUTES OR SO, I CAN GET THE TRUCK TO RESTART. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED A COUPLE OF TIMES BECAUSE I COULD NEVER GET IT TO TURN OVER. THIS PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED WHEN THE TRUCK WAS 3-4 YEARS OLD AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE AND DIDN'T REPLACE ANY PARTS. NOW ALL THE REPAIRS ARE COMING OUT OF MY POCKET. I'VE REPLACED THE BATTERY A COUPLE TIMES THINKING I HAD A FAULTY BATTERY. LATER I REPLACED THE BATTERY CABLE THINKING THIS WAS THE CAUSE AND MOST RECENTLY REPLACED THE FUSE BOX. IN ALL INSTANCES, THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY FOR ANYWHERE FROM 3-6 MONTHS AND THEN REAPPEAR. AS I SAID IT IS VERY INTERMITTENT WITH NO CONSISTENCY TO IT WHATSOEVER. MY TRUCK HAS NEVER DIED WHILE DRIVING WHEN THIS HAS OCCURRED, ALTHOUGH I'M SCARED TO DEATH IT WILL DO SO AND I'LL LOSE ALL POWER. MY BROTHER-IN-LAW IS A MASTER MECHANIC FOR A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND IT HAS HIM COMPLETELY STUMPED. HE'S READ THROUGH ALL THE TSB'S, CHECKED ON-LINE BLOG'S, ETC. AS WELL AS DOING HIS OWN TECHNICAL TROUBLESHOOTING, BUT CANNOT PIN DOWN THE EXACT ISSUE. AT THIS POINT WE'VE RESORTED TO REPLACING THE MOST LIKELY PARTS AND HOPING FOR THE BEST. AS I SAID I REPLACED THE FUSE BOX ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO AND THE PROBLEM RESURFACED TODAY.
SEAT BELT ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES WILL NOT LOCK ANY LONGER. THEY HAVE WORN OUT AND BROKE. THIS SEEMS VERY SIMILAR TO THE 2007 RECALL THAT HAPPENED. THIS IS A 2008 TRUCK.
I WAS ON HIGHWAY 84 PASSING ANOTHER CAR AT SPEED 75 MPH THE DOOR LOCKS STARTED CAME ON AND OFF, THE SAFETY BELT LIGHTS CAME ON, THE ENGINE STARTED TO SLOW AND SPEED UP, THE CLOCK WENT FROM 4:00 PM TO 12:00 PM, THE DATE WENT TO 01/01/2004, THE A/C STARTED TO BLOW HOT AIR. I STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER AND TURNED IT OFF, EVERYTHING STOPPED ONLY THE ABS LIGHT STAYED ON. I CALLED ONSTAR TO CHECK WHAT'S WRONG, THEY SAID EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD, CHECK THE TIRES, IF THE TIRES ARE GOOD, YOU ARE GOOD TO DRIVE. ALL TIRES WERE 33PSI. I RESET ALL THE ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONS AND WENT HOME. I WAS IN DANGER FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES IN THE LEFT LANE PASSING ANOTHER CAR.
"TAKATA RECALL" STILL AWAITING PARTS FOR THIS RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS
DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK- UNLOCK NO LONGER WORKS. STUCK IN LOCKED POSITION THOUGH LOCKING MECHANISM POPS UP AND DOWN.
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS AND MAKING TURN VEG STEERING MAKES LOUD SOUND AND STEERING WHEEL MAKES VIBRATING SOUND AND LOCKS TEMPORARILY. A CODE TURNED ON THAT READS STABILIZER TRACKABILITY IT STAYED ON FROM THAT TIME UNTIL NOW.
