CHEVROLET (3127 W TENNESSEE ST, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32304) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER FOR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG RECALL REPAIR. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED, THE CONTACT SIGNED A WAIVER THAT THE DEALER WOULD NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO THE DASHBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON THIS MORNING AFTER START UP. RESTARTED TRUCK TO SEE IF WARNING WOULD CLEAR. I STILL HAVE THE MESSAGE AND BELIEVE THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG OR THE SENSORS.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN TWO DIFFERENT PLAECES
THE AFM (LIFTERS) AND CAMSHAFT ALL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. THE TRUCK STARTED TO MAKE A KNOCKING SOUND SO I STOPPED AND CHECKED THE OIL AND DIDN'T HAVE ANY SHOWING ON DIP STICK. CHANGED OIL THAT DAY AND TWO WEEKS LATER THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REDUCE POWER MODE. I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AND THEY TOLD BE IT WAS LIFTERS AND CAMSHAFT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ON INTERNET IT SEEMS THAT FROM 2007-2013 5.3 ENGINES ARE HAVING OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES DUE TO AFM ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON TRUCK

NOW I'VE RECEIVED ANOTHER POSTCARD STATING THAT I MUST TAKE CARE OF THIS...AND AM BEING TOLD BY GM THAT THEY HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS. HOW CAN GM BE PRODUCING NEW CARS WITH NEW AIRBAGS, AND NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS RECALL GOING ON 2 YEARS? GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS ASAP!

WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE EVERYTHING GOES CRAZY AT ONCE: DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK, ENGINE CUTS AND GOES BACK ON, STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF, TRANSMISSION KICKS OUT OF GEAR AND THEN DOWNSHIFTS SENDING THE ENGINE TO OVER 5,000 RPM, RADIO GOES OFF AND ON OFF AND ON. THIS EVENT LASTS FOR ABOUT 5 TO 7 SECONDS THEN EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO NORMAL. THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND MAY NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THIS PROBLEM SOUNDS VERY SIMILAR TO NHTSA ID #10871399. IT IS AN EXTREMELY SCARY EVENT AND WHEN IN TRAFFIC GOING 70 AND THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTS AND THE SPEED DROPS TO 50 LIKE YOU SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, BUT THE BRAKES HAVE NOT BEEN TOUCHED. IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE HIT THIS MORNING. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2014 WITH 114,000 MILES, THIS FIRST HAPPENED IN 2014 WITH APPROX. 118,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 171,500.

TAKATA RECALL DATE IS MAY 27, 2016 YET I JUST RECEIVED A LETTER IN MID AUGUST INFORMING ME THAT CHEVROLET IS FURTHER DELAYING ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM. THE DANGER OF SERIOUS INJURY AND FATALITY FROM THESE AIRBAGS IS WELL DOCUMENTED, MY TRUCK IS OVER 7 YEARS OLD IN AN EXTREMELY HOT CLIMATE (TEXAS--116 DEGREES RECENTLY) WHICH INCREASES RISK AND YET CHEVROLET IS DELAYING--DOUBTLESS IN HOPES MORE VEHICLES WILL AGE OUT AND REDUCE THEIR COSTS--DESPITE THE RISK OF DEATH OF THEIR CUSTOMERS THIS DELAY ENTAILS. PLEASE INSIST CHEVROLET QUICKLY MOVE TO ADDRESS THIS POTENTIALLY FATAL RISK IDEALLY PRIORITIZING VEHICLES THAT ARE OLDER AND IN HOTTER CLIMATES SINCE THAT SEEMS TO THE HIGHEST RISK GROUPS. I AM DISGUSTED WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND MY NEXT VEHICLE WILL BE A TESLA BECAUSE TESLA ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY AND ADDRESS SAFETY ISSUES WITHOUT DELAY. PLEASE AGGRESSIVELY REQUIRE THIS RECALL ON A DANGEROUS PRODUCT WHOSE MANUFACTURER (TAKATA) HAS ADMITTED THE PROBLEM. THE NECESSITY HAS BEEN CLEARLY ESTABLISHED IN OTHER CASES AND CHEVROLET'S ONLY POSSIBLE REASON FOR DELAY IS THAT THEY PRIORITIZE AVOIDING EXPENSE TO CORRECT THEIR MISTAKE OVER CUSTOMER'S LIVES.

TAKATA RECALL , CHEVEROLET HAS YET TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG UNDER RECALL # 20149151
TAKATA RECALL, GM STILL HAS NO RECALL ACTION ON THIS THEY HAVE NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THESE AIR BAGS. THE GM RECALL NUMBER IS 2049151. GM IS CONTESTING THIS RECALL BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO JUSTIFY THE REPLACEMENT OF THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. I HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE I JUST WANT THE AIRBAGS REPLACED AS RECOMMENDED BY TAKATA AND IN THE NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 16V381. RECEIVED A NOTICE OF RECALL FROM GM ON MAY 27, 2016 ADVISING ME OF THE RECALL STATING THAT GM CONSIDERS THE VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE AND THE STATUS OF THE RECALL IS "INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" GM IS STILL PROTESTING THIS RECALL AND HAS NOT RECEIVED A FINAL RULING FROM THE NHTSA ON ITS POSITION THAT THE GM VEHICLES ARE SAFE TO DRIVE. I BELIEVE THAT GM IS STALLING AND SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE A 2009 SILVERADO 1500 LT 4X4. MY VEHICLE IS IMPACTED BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL WITH TAKATA. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER 2 YEARS FOR A RESOLUTION AND HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE OTHER THAN RECEIVING A LETTER THAT TAKATA HAD FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! IT IS DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY VEHICLE AND NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
