TOOK IT TO WALKER JONES IN WAYCROSS GA CAUSE THE LIGHT TO THE AIRBAGS WAS STAYING ON. THEY HOOKED IT TO COMPUTER AND SAID IT WAS THERMOSTATE WAS THE PROBLEM. REPLACED IT AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS STILL COMING ON. ONLY THING THEY WANT TO DO IT FIX EVERYTHING ELSE BUT THE AIRBAG.

BADLY RUSTED ENGINE AND UNDER BODY FRAMES ,TRANSMISSION COOLER AND COOLER LINES RUSTED AWAY. 4 WHEEL DRIVE LINKAGE. DASH HAS LARGE CRACK DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF STEERING WHEEL AND TWO SMALLER CRACKS ON EACH SIDE OF AIR BAG ON PASSENGER SIDE OF DASH.IT APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPENED QUICKLY AS I NOTICED IT WHEN WIPING DOWN DASH AND HAD NOT NOTICED IT LAST TIME I CLEANED.

DASHBOARD CRACKS AT THE AIRBAG AND OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, RUNNING FROM THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG TO THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE CENTRAL AIR VENT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS CRACK COULD JEOPARDIZE THE EFFICACY OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY, WHETHER THE CRACK PREVENTS THE AIRBAG FROM FULLY OPENING AND/OR PUNCTURING THE AIRBAG ONCE IT DOES OPEN. FURTHERMORE, SHARDS OF THE DASHBOARD COULD CAUSE HARM IF THE AIRBAG DOES DEPLOY. I AM NOT CERTAIN WHEN THE CRACK FIRST DEVELOPED, BUT NOTICED IT EARLIER TODAY.
DASH CRACKS AT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS THIS A PROBLEM IF THE BAG WENT OFF WILL THE BROKEN PIECE OF DASH BOARD GO WITH IT. ALSO LOOSE BODY SIDE MOLDINGS HAD REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AND CAME OFF AGAIN LUCKILY IT DIDN'T COME OFF WHILE DRIVING.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, ANOTHER VEHICLE SUDDENLY DROVE THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND GOT T-BONED AND PUSHED INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE OTHER TWO VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THE CRASH WERE TOTALED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP IN ST. GEORGE, UTAH WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RIMS, GRILL, TIRES, AND HEADLIGHT CAPSULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PARTS WERE REPLACED AND THE AIR BAG SENSOR SYSTEM WAS REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. DRIVER SIDE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE OFF WHILE PARKED AS I WAS EXITING VEHICLE.. INSPECTION OF HANDLE SHOWED A CRACK ON THE HANDLE WHERE IT BROKE. IT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT OF MANUFACTURE AND DESIGN. THE REPAIR REQUIRED THE COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL AT CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE. THE POTENTIAL FOR SAFE EGRESS FROM THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY IS OF CONCERN.
"TAKATA RECALL" THERE HAS BEEN ACTIVE RECALL FOR WELL OVER A YEAR NOW ON MY TRUCK AND THE DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME WHEN THEY GET THE PARTS TO FIX IT THEY WILL CONTACT ME TO BRING IT IN. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE OR HOW MANY MORE LIVES HAVE TO BE AFFECTED BEFORE THIS WILL BE FIXED. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY TRUCK ALWAYS WORRIED ABOUT THESE AIR BAGS. THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2011 CHEVY SILVERADO LTZ IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES, INCLUDING OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO EMIT A KNOCKING NOISE AND THE ENGINE TRACTION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE TOOK A LONGER AMOUNT OF TIME THAN USUAL TO STOP WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE NUMBER ONE AND NUMBER 7 SPARK PLUGS WERE BURNED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECENTLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE (REFERENCE NUMBER: 8/2905223479). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,765.

CHEVROLET DOES NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS FOR 2011 CHEY SILVERADO, DESPITE THE RECALL. NEED INFORMATION ON HOW TO FIND REPLACEMENTS ASAP.
2011 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500. THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED. THE TRUCK ONLY HAD 40000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE DASH CRACKED. I CONTACTED GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, WITH NO LUCK TO GET THEM TO RECALL THIS PROBLEM. IN THE EVENT THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING PIECES OF THE DASH WILL COME APART AND GO FLYING EVERWHERE!!

DASHBOARD CRACK NEXT TO AIRBAG (UPPER RIGHT CORNER) AND OVER INSTRUMENT PANEL. I AM CONCERNED THAT IN A WRECK WHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THE DASH WILL BECOME A DEADLY PROJECTILE. THE CRACKS OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY UNDO STRESS ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION WHEN IT OCCURRED.
THIS IS THE SECOND DASH BOARD THAT HAS CRACKED BY THE AIR BAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FIRST WAS COVERED UNDER THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND NOW ITS OUT OF WARRANTY. I WORRY THAT HAVING A DASH THAT IS COMING A PART WILL BLOW APART IF THE AIR BAG GOES OFF AFTER ALL THE AIRBAG COVER IS ALSO THE SAME PLASTIC..THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND GM NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF IT. CRACKED DASH OVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND SIDE AIR VENT AND AIR BAG AND GLOVE BOX.
MY 2011 SILVERDO DASH IS CRACKING BY THE PASSANGER AIR BAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CRACKS GET BIGGER IN COLD TEMPERATURES AND CAUSE A BIGGER GAP IN THE COLD TEMPERATURES. AS THE WEATHER GETS WARM THE GAP GETS SMALLER. THIS CRACK IS DUE TO A DEFECT IN THE DASH MATERIAL. I FEAR THAT IF I WERE TO GET INTO A ACCIDENT THAT PIECES FROM THE DASH COULD CUT THE AIR BAG IF DEPLOYED CAUSING SERIOUS OR FISCAL DAMAGE TO MYSELF OR OTHERS RIDING IN MY TRUCK. IF OTHERS ARE INJURED IN MY TRUCK DUE TO MY DASH PIECES CUTTING MY AIR BAG WILL I BE SUED BECAUSE OF A GM DASH DEFECT? I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MENTION THE CLEAR PLASTIC IN MY DASH CLUSTER IS CRACKING. TAKATA RECALL: I HAVE FAXED AND EMAILED CEO AND EXECUTIVES OF GENERAL MOTORS SEVERAL TIMES EACH DAY REGARDING THIS MATTER. I AM GOING ON VACATION AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THESE AIRBAGS. THE NOTICE THAT WE JUST RECEIVED THIS MONTH, STATED THE VEHICLES ARE CURRENTLY SAFE TO DRIVE. IT DOES NOT STATE ANYTHING ABOUT IN THE FUTURE (I.E. NEXT MONTH, NEXT WEEK, ETC.). THEY KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECT BUT JUST DECIDED TO SEND OUT RECALL NOTICES LATE LAST MONTH. I WANT A RENTAL CAR FOR THE WEEK I NEED TO DRIVE OUT OF TOWN, AT THEIR EXPENSE, BECAUSE WE SHOULD HAVE NOTIFIED EARLIER AND THEY WILL NOT VERIFY (THE EXECUTIVES) NOR BACKUP THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT THAT THE VEHICLES ARE SAFE TO DRIVE. I WANT A LETTER FROM THE CEO THAT VERIFIES THIS OR A RENTAL VEHICLE FOR ONE WEEK UNTIL MY VEHICLE IS REPAIRED. WE LIVE IN HOT TEXAS AND THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS EXPOSED TO HOT AND HUMID TEMPERATURES! THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE.
VERY UPSETTING THAT GM HAD TO HAVE KNOWN TAKATA AIR BAGS ARE INSTALLED AND WE WERE NEVER INFORMED. The software that makes the truck work as a 4 cylinder truck has caused the engine light to come on and causing a code P0300 various engine misfire. The misfire is caused by the lifter spring causing the lifter to remain in the down position. The down position is against the can rod and as the cam rod rotates, this causes the lifter to break at the bottom and causing the can rod to also break which will cause an engine failure while drinking and the motor will freeze . All GMC and Chevrolet vehicles with this installed should be recalled. Everyone has been fixing it themselves by replacing the part(s) once a pinging noise is heard at 50,000 miles. Basically every 50,000 this will need to be fixed. Some people are turning off the 4 cylinder software to avoid the problem which in both cases, uses more gas and also idles higher.

WHEN SLOWING FOR A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THERE IS A NOISE LIKE BAD BREAK PADS SWOOSHING AS THOUGH INTERMITTENT CONTACT IS BEING MADE. BRAKES ,PADS,HUBS ,SEALS AND ROTORS INSPECTED BY CERT. MECH. SOUND APPEARS TO COME FROM UNDER CENTER OF UNDERCARRIAGE IN VICINITY OF TRANSMISSION TAIL SHAFT. I HAVE HAD 3 OR 4 INCIDENTS WHEN PUTTING TRUCK IN GEAR IT JERKS BACKWARDS ENOUGH TO FEEL IT. THIS TRUCK HAS ONLY 80,000 MI AND I LOVE TO DRIVE IT HOWEVER THESE NOISES MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I MIGHT BE FACING SERIOUS TROUBLE AND GREAT EXPENSE DOWN THE ROAD.I HAVE AN APPT. TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A GM RECALL NOTICE (#49151) IN JULY 2016 FOR A DEFECTIVE TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH COULD ACCIDENTALLY INFLATE. ALTHOUGH GM STATES IN THE NOTICE THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE, IT ALSO STATES--IN THE SAME LETTER--THAT SUCH AN ACCIDENTAL INFLATION COULD RESULT IN "SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES". (THEY CALL THIS SAFE!!?) TWO VISITS TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP HAVE RESULTED IN NO ACTION. I NOW UNDERSTAND THAT TAKATA HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY.
