THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. FREEMONT CHEVROLET (5850 CUSHING PKWY, FREMONT, CA 94538, (510) 445-8700) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
REGARDING THE TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 49151 FROM GM ON 7/2016 FOR MY CHEVY TRUCK. IT SAID "YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE..." THAT WAS WELL OVER A YEAR AGO! I SPOKE WITH GM CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY ON 10/14/2017 ABOUT THIS AND ALL THE YOUNG MAN SAID WAS THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. EVIDENTLY GM AND TAKATA ARE IN SOME KIND OF DISAGREEMENT OVER THE AIRBAG ISSUE WHILE MY FAMILY DRIVING AROUND IN A VEHICLE WITH DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. ALSO, THE DASHBOARD BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COMPARTMENT CRACKED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND THIS REALLY CONCERNS ME. PLEASE HELP!
DASH CRACKING IN SEVERAL PLACES. HAD REPLACED W/IN 12,000 MILES AND NOW NEEDS REPLACING AGAIN. ALSO CIGARETTE LIGHTER COVERS AND USB COVER HAVE BROKEN AT LEAST 4 TIMES. HANDLE LATCH ON CONSOLE BROKE OFF WHILE NOT IN USE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A LUND BOAT TRAILER EQUIPPED WITH CARLISLE RADIAL TIRES, SIZE: 185/80/R13 (NA). THE TRAILER WAS BEING HAULED BY A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE BOAT TRAILER AND VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND FOUND THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TRAILER TIRE THREAD HAD SEPARATED, CAUSING THE BOAT'S FRONT FENDER TO FRACTURE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE TRAILER TO AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND HAD THE TIRE REPLACED WITH THE SPARE TIRE. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE TRAILER MILEAGE WAS NOT APPLICABLE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE SITE OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT IT IS VERY COMMON. I AM AFRAID THIS AREA OF THE DASH WILL FAIL UPON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CAUSING INJURY. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE CRACK STARTED.
THE DASH BOARD CRACKED IN SEPTEMBER 2017 IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. CRACK IS NOW ABOUT 4 INCHES LONG
MY DASHBOARD STARTED TO CRACK AND THEN A BIG CHUNK FELL OUT OF IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, HE FAILED TO NOTICE A CRACK HAD FORMED OVER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG COVER. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,681.
THE AIRBAG RECALL IS STILL STATING NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. THIS IS UNSETTLINGLY DRIVING A TICKING TIME BOMB.
DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED NEAR THE AIRBAG. APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM/ISSUE WITH THIS GENERATION OF GM VEHICLES.
"TAKATA RECALL" THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX THE AIRBAG.
PURCHSED BRAND NEW. TRUCK NOW HAS 76000 MILES ON IT. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ONE AS WELL AS STABILITY TRACK LIGHT WHILE COMING TO A STOP. TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE A BIT.. DEALERSHIP TOOK A WEEK TO DIAGNOSE SAID MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 6. NEED TO REPLACE THE CAM SHAFT AND ALL LIFTERS. CHEVROLET STATES 100000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. TRUCK HAS BEEN SERVICED AT DEALERSHIP WITH OIL CHANGES ON TIME. CASE NUMBER WITH GM [XXX]. TAKATA RECALL- THE DEALER IN AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA SAID THEY COULD NOT GET THE PARTS AND I STILL GET NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM TK HOLDINGS INC. ABOUT CONTACT MY DEALER TO SCHEDULE A FREE REPAIR.. I HAVE LOST VALUE TO MY TRUCK PLUS HURTING MY ABILITY TO SALE THE TRUCK. UNABLE TO RIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE I NEED ANSWER WHAT TO DO..
I HAVE A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LT., VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN TRIED TO START THE ENGINE, THE IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT MOVE IN START POSITION, ALL PANEL LIGHTS CAME ON FINE. HAD TOWED TO DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED STEERING COLUMN WAS BAD CAUSING THE IGNITION TO NOT TURN. STEERING COLUMN AND IGNITION HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS REPAIRED. ISSUE LEFT ME STRANDED. DEALER SAID NO RECALL. WITH STEERING BEING A MAJOR SAFETY ITEM, I WAS SURPRISED THERE HAD NOT BEEN A RECALL. NEVER HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS AND BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW.
ELKINS CHEVROLET OF MARLTON, NJ REFUSES TO COVER SERVICE FOR AN ITEM THAT WAS RECALLED. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS TO HAVE ALREADY RECALLED THE VEHICLE AND MITIGATED THE ISSUE BY INSTALLING A STYROFOAM TUBE AROUND THE PART IN QUESTION. HOWEVER, IF THE TUBE WAS INSTALLED IT FAILED AND THE TRANSMISSION MAY BE AFFECTED. I AM CURRENTLY LEFT TO COVER THE COST OF THIS WHILE THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE DESPITE THE RECALL.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
CRACK ON DASH AT THE AIRBAG , IT JUST CRACKED FOR NO REASON . ITS RIGHT AT THE AIRBAG , AFRAID THAT IF AIRBAG GOES OFF THE BROKE PIECE WILL FLY OUT AND HIT SOMEONE. OR THE AIRBAG WILL GET A HOLE IN IT . IT WAS STATIONARY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE KNUCKLE ASSEMBLIES FRACTURED AND FELL OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN CHEVROLET DEALER IN AUBURN, WA WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" AIRBAG LIGHT TAKES OVER INSTRUMENT INFORMATION CLUSTER.THERES NO INFORMATION ON WHEN TO BE REPAIRED OR WHEN THE AIRBAG WILL BE REPLACED.2) DASHBOARD CRACKED AND GROWING NEAR PASSENGER AIRBAG .I NEVER USED ARMOR ALL ETC...CONCERNED ABOUT THE WIRING UNDERNEATH.TRUCK CURRENTLY HAS 80000 MILES .NORMAL USE
THERE IS A CRACK ON THE DASH THAT RUNS ALONG THE COMPARTMENT HOUSING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THIS CRACK COULD POTENTIALLY TEAR THE AIRBAG UPON DEPLOYMENT MAKING IT USELESS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THIS WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE AND IT COULD BE REPLACED BUT THAT THE REPLACEMENT MAY CRACK DUE TO BODY SHIFTING DURING OPERATION AND SUN EXPOSURE. NOW THE DASH IS BEGINNING TO CRACK IN OTHER PLACES (STRESS FRACTURES). NOT SURE WHEN THESE CRACKS STARTED WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY.
DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG NOT WORKING. PAID 100.00 TO HAVE IT CHECKED AND IT HAS RECALL. UNABLE TO USE HORN OR CRUISE CONTROL. WORRIED IF IN AN ACCIDENT WILL NOT HAVE DRIVERS AIRBAG.
DASHBOARD CRACKED AT FORWARD EDGE OF PASSENGER AIR BAG.
I BOUGHT MY 2011 SILVERADO WITH ONLY 36,000 MILES ON IT, BEFORE IT EVER REACHED 40,000 THE DASH CRACKED IN THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, AND NOW ABOVE THE ODOMETER. I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY IF THE AIRBAG WAS TO GO OFF AND SEND SHARDS OF SHARP PLASTIC THOUGH THE VEHICLE. I WOULD APPRECIATE GM RECALLING AND FIXING THE ISSUE THAT THEY ARE ALREADY AWARE OF.

AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON THOUGH NOT IN A ACCIDENT SEEMS LIKE ALL GM VEHICLES THAT I HAVE OWNED THEY TEND TO GO OFF RIGHT AROUND THE HUNDRED THOUSAND MILE MARK
TAKATA RECALL THE DASH IS CRACKED IN TWO LOCATIONS, AT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR NO APPARENT REASON. VEHICLE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION OTHERWISE. THERE MAY BE A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE PROXIMITY TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG.
THE ENGINE IN THE CHEVY VEHICLES FROM 2007-2015 ALL HAVE HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION AND REQUIRE ENGINE REPLACEMENT ANYWHERE AFTER 500 MILES. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW AND NEEDS A NEW ENGINE A LITTLE OVER 5 YEARS LATER?
DASHBOARD CRACKED AROUND AIRBAG
THE ENGINE IN THIS VEHICLE BURNS/VAPORIZES OIL AT A RAPID PACE. I HAVE A 2011, 114K MILES, AND HAD TO REPLACE THE PISTONS TO THE TUNE OF $5400 - CHEVROLET WOULD NOT HELP WITH COSTS. 6 YR OLD VEHICLE, JUST OVER 100K MILES AND HAVE TO REPLACE THE PISTONS.. I HAD KEPT UP ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AT THE DEALERSHIP. HAVE A "WARRANTY FOREVER" , LIFE TIME POWER TRAIN WARRANTY, AND DENIED MY CLAIM BECAUSE IT WAS DUE TO 'WEAR AND TEAR'. HOW CAN MY 6 YR OLD, 114K MILE VEHICLES ESSENTIALLY NEED A NEW ENGINE? CHEVROLET SHOULD BE DISGUSTED WITH THEMSELVES. I KNOW MANY OTHERS WITH SIMILAR YEAR, SAME ENGINE AND HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. I HAVE NOT FAITH IN THE CHEVROLET PRODUCT ANYMORE.
TAKATA RECALL DEALERS SAID THEY DON'T HAVE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE FROM MANUFACTURERS
THE DASH IN MY 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 HAS A CRACK IN THE DASH AT THE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. MY OPINION IS THAT THIS COULD CAUSE A SAFETY ISSUE. EITHER THE AIR BAG COULD FAIL TO WORK PROPERLY OR POTENTIALLY BE DAMAGED. CHEVROLET HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAS CHOSEN NOT TO VOLUNTARILY TAKE CARE OF IT.
VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE WHILE CRUISING AT 65 MPH. TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAYED "SERVICE STABILITRAK" "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AND "ENGINE POWER REDUCED" MESSAGES. VEHICLE SLOWED AND TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED. VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WITH ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEED 35 MPH IN A FLAT GRADE. ON A STEEP INCLINE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEED 15MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE ISSUE HAS OCCURED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE. PARKING THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SEVERAL IGNITION CYCLES HAVE IN THE PAST HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH GM VEHICLES USING A DRIVE BY WIRE THROTTLE BODY AND IT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER MODEL YEARS.
DASHBOARD CRACKING AND BREAKING AROUND AIRBAG. POSSIBLE PLASTIC SHRAPNEL IN EVENT OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. IN MY TIME OF OWNERSHIP EXPOSURE TO ELEMENTS HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIMITED WITH USE OF COVERED PARKING OR SUNSHADE. CHEMICALS HAVE NEVER BEEN INTRODUCED TO THE AFFECTED AREA.
ONE NIGHT ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK, I WAS DRIVING 60MPH AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY TRUCK HYDROPLANED. I MANAGED TO GET THE TRUCK STRAIGHT AND REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ABOUT A WEEK LATER, AS I'M HEADING HOME ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY ABS, BRAKE, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ALL ILLUMINATED. THE DIC READS SERVICE STABILITRAK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, THEN IT WILL DISPLAY STABILITRAK OFF AND TRACTION CONTROL OFF. I HAD THE CODES READ AND MY TROUBLE CODE WAS P069E - FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE REQUESTED MIL ILLUMINATION AND U0073 - CONTROL MODULE COMMUNICATION BUS A OFF. ALL THOSE LIGHTS MENTIONED ABOVE HAVE BEEN ON FOR ABOUT A MONTH. I LOOKED UP INFORMATION ABOUT THE FPCM AND FOUND OUT ABOUT GM RECALL 14515, I ENTERED MY VIN BUT THE ONLY RECALL THAT CAME UP WAS FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. AS I READ THROUGH THE 14515 RECALL, I FEEL MY TRUCK IS AFFECTED BY IT BECAUSE, WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK MY SPEEDOMETER JUMPS ALL AROUND AND IS NOT STABLE. ALSO, WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE, IT FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE STALLS AND THERE'S NO POWER THERE. OTHER TIMES, IT WILL DOWN SHIFT TO INCREASE RPMS, BUT THEN SOON SHIFT GEARS INTO A HIGHER GEAR THEN SHIFT BACK INTO A LOW GEAR AND REPEAT THIS UNTIL I LET OFF THE PEDAL. MY TOW HAUL MODE WILL NOT STAY ENGAGED, CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT STAY ENGAGED, AND MOST OF THE TIME MY TRUCK WON'T EVEN START WHEN TRYING TO USE THE REMOTE START, INSTEAD LIGHTS JUST FLASH AS I'M HOLDING DOWN THE START BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB. THE TRUCK FEELS REALLY SLUGGISH ALMOST LIKE THERE'S NO POWER, IT SEEMS LIKE IT HUNTS FOR THE RIGHT GEARS WHILE DRIVING. OVERALL IT JUST FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
DASH BOARD IS CRACKED AROUND AIRBAG. AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WOULD MEAN HUGE SHARDS OF PLASTIC FLYING AROUND CAB. POTENTIALLY PENETRATING SKIN AND EYES. HUGE PIECES. THIS IS NOT SAFE.
TAKATA RECALLS: NOTHING HAS HAPPENED AL OF TODAY. IF THE PIECE OF CRAP CAR SALESMAN AT THE LOT WHERE WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK A YEAR AGO WOULD HAVE GIVEN US A CAR FAX AS WE ASK AND THEN WHEN BACK FOR AND WRITTEN FOR WE WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE TRUCK. NOW MY QUESTION IS WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR INJURY OR DEATH DUE TO THIS COMPANY SELLING DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE, WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A FIX, SOLUTION, OR SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM? WHY ARE AMERICAN CONSUMERS SUBJECTED TO THIS DANGER AND THESE BIG CORPORATE COMPANIES GET AWAY WITH IT. I HAVE FAMILY AND A SMALL GREAT GRANDSON THAT RIDES WITH ME. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEIR SAFETY WHEN I PUT THEM I MY VEHICLE? IF YOU WANT THE NAME OF THE CROOKED CAR LOT DOING THIS STUFF, PLEASE LET ME KNOW I WOULD LOVE TO BLAST THEM ALL OVER THE WORLD. NOW THE BOTTOM LINE WHAT IS GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE WE DIE OR ARE BLEINDED FOR LIFE??? THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,000.
TRUCK CONSUMES MUCH MORE THAN AVERAGE ENGINE OIL
HAVE A RECALL ON PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG, ALSO HAVE A CRACKED DASHBOARD
MY DASHBOARD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THIS MORNING. ON THE HIGHWAY.
ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILITRAK, THESE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND AS MY TRUCK SLOWED DOWN NO MATTER HOW MUCH GAS I GAVE IT. ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I SHUT TRUCK OFF AND WAITED A COUPLE MINUTES THEN STARTED TRUCK UP . IT RAN FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN THE SAME 3 WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE. LIGHT. IS THERE A RECALL OR A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) FOR THIS ISSUE. I DID READ THAT THERE MIGHT BE A TSB CAMPAIGN # [XXX] FOR THIS ISSUE. IS THERE ANY PAPERWORK THAT CAN BE EMAILED TO ME TO GIVE TO THE GM DEALER TO HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. A CRACK APPEARED IN THE DASH CAUSING A SEPARATION IN THE SECTION BEHIND THE AIRBAG I AM CONCERNED THE PIECES COULD CAUSE INJURY IF AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED.
THE DASH IS CRACKING NEAR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND NEAR THE AIR BAG. I USE A SUNSCREEN, BUT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. THIS IS TOO EXPENSIVE AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF A VEHICLE. I WORRIES ME THAT THERE MAY BE SOME SAFETY ISSUES WITH A CRACKED PLASTIC DASH IN CASE OF ACCIDENT.
DASHBOARD CRACK AT THE TOP LEFT FRONT CORNER OF THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT.
