THE DASH AREA AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER IS CRACKED AND WOULD BE A FLYING DEBRIS HAZARD IN AN ACCIDENT, ESPECIALLY IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY. IN ADDITION CRACKS EXIST DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE STEERING COLUMN THAT, WHEN THE SUN HITS IT, CREATES A GLARE THAT AFFECTS VISIBILITY. BOTH OF THESE ARE SAFETY CONCERNS AND GM SAID THAT ITS NORMAL. HOW IS ANYTHING THAT CAN BECOME FLYING SHRAPNEL OR BLINDING THE DRIVER NOT A CONCERN OR NORMAL. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT. THESE CRACKS APPEARED OVER A YEAR AGO BUT THEY'VE NOW GOTTEN WORSE AND THE GLARE HAS BECOME MORE OF AN ISSUE. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING ABOVE THE AIRBAG.
THE DASH ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL CRACKED ON 12/4/2019, NOW MAKING A RATTLING NOISE. THE CRACK NOW IS GOING TO EXPAND DUE TO VIBRATION AND IT COULD EFFECT THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DOWN THE LINE.
VEHICLE DASH CRACKED AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALERSHIP ADVISED NOT UNDER ANY WARRANTY OR RECALLS. WORRIED IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION PIECES MAY BECOME FLYING OBJECTS IN THE EVENT OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.
DASH CRACKED APPROXIMATELY 3'. VERY LOW MILES, VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, THE AIR BAG AND SERVICE AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
THE DASH BOARD HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS AND THE AC CONTROL BUTTONS HAVE WORN OFF.
WHILE IN CALIFORNIA (FROM TEXAS) AND A/C STOPS BLOWING COLD OR WARN, JUST HOT AIR. TRIED ADDING SEALANT AND FREON THAT WORKED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. SINCE THEN JUST HOT AIR. DRIVING BACK FROM CA TO TX THRU THE CENTRAL VALLEY, AZ AND NM WAS NOT FUN WITH TEMPS > 90. I WAS CHECKING HERE TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS HAD SUCCESS ON GETTING GM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT SEEMS RAMPANT WITH THIS MODEL SILVERADO/SIERRA. UPDATE FROM JUL 14, 2020 I WROTE TO GM AND RECEIVED ONE PHONE CALL WITH A NUMBER TO CALL. CALLED THE NUMBER OVER 10 TIMES, EVERY TIME I WAS DISCONNECTED WHILE GOING THROUGH THE MENU. RECEIVED A LETTER FROM CHEVROLET WITH THE SAME USELESS PHONE NUMBER. WROTE AGAIN HOPING TO GET EMAIL ADDRESS TO OPEN A DIALOG.
CRACKED DASH. LIFTER FROM 8 TO 4 CYLINDER BREAK DOWN. 4000 FIX
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal and brake pedal simultaneously, the brake pedal went to the floorboard. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and diagnosed; however, no failure was determined. The contact was informed that the function was normal. The dealer also suggested that issue might be related to a software failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure occurred previously and the brake master cylinder was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED ON 2 CORNERS NEAR THE AIR BAG
THE DASH SURROUNDING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS CRACKING IN THE UPPER CORNERS. ALSO IT'S CRACKING IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER SIDE. AN ACCIDENT COULD LEAD TO PIECES OF THE DASH BREAKING AND CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH TO PASSENGERS. *TR
THE DASH IN MY 2013 SILVERADO IS CRACKING, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY IF I WAS TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH DEPLOYED AIRBAGS.
THE VEHICLE'S FRAME IS RUSTING OUT AND BREAKING AT THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES, POTENTIALLY REPRESENTING A SAFETY THREAT IF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYS.
FINDING HIGH LEVEL OF SURFACE RUST ON SILVERADO FRAME
MY DASHBOARD IS SEVERELY CRACKED IN 2 PLACES. BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE STEERING COLUMN.
I HAVE 2 LARGE CRACKS ON MY DASH PANEL. ONE IS NEAR THE DASH MOUNTED AIR BAG, AND THE SECOND IS RUNNING ABOVE MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. THESE CRACKS DEVELOPED OVER TIME. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. CHEVROLET REFUSED TO COVER THE ISSUE UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN AFTER I SHOWED THEM HOW WIDE SPREAD THIS ISSUE IS AMONG CHEVROLET VEHICLES.
TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG LIGHT HAS CAME ON WORRIED THEY MAY DEPLOY
I HAVE FOUND CRACKS IN THE DASH DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE SUPPORT BRACES FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, IN CASE OF DEPLOYMENT THE SHARDS OF BROKEN PLASTIC CAN IMPALE INTO AN INDIVIDUAL CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH
THE DASH IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES INCLUDING AROUND THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. THE CRACKING HAPPENED SPONTANEOUSLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND HAS STEADILY GOTTEN WORSE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CATALANO MOTORS INC (8327 ERIE RD, ANGOLA, NY 14006) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEEL CABLE FRACTURED DUE TO RUST AND THE PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,209. *TT CONSUMER STATED DUE TO THE EXTREME COLD WEATHER THE CABLE RUSTED AND BROKE.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRAILER BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE TRAILER BRAKES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SPARE TIRE WAS FLAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LONE STAR CHEVROLET (18900 NORTHWEST FWY, JERSEY VILLAGE, TX 77065, (844) 891-7243) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT A NEW MODULE FOR THE BLACK BOX AND NEW RELAYS NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE WARNING LIGHTS FOR STABILITY AND TRACTION HAVE COME ON. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING BADLY AND PIECES ARE FALLING OFF. *TR
LIGHT BULB GOES ONUT, IN FRONT HEADLIGHTS AFTER REPLACING IT. REPLACE IT 3 TIMES AND IT CONTINUES TO GO OUT.
PAINT PEELING OFF VEHICLE.
THE DASHBOARD IN MY PICKUP HAS CRACKED FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER AND I AM AFRAID THAT IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT THAT THERE WILL BE AIRBORNE PIECES OF PLASTIC THAT WILL BECOME A HAZARD. *TR
CRACK IN DASH FROM AIRBAG TO DEFROST VENT
TWICE I HAVE ENCOUNTERED UN-COMMANDED RAPID ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE ACCELERATION BACK UNDER CONTROL BY PRESSING AND HOLDING THE BRAKES. IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE SAME LOCATION, I'M GUESSING IT IS SOME SORT OF RADIO SIGNAL INTERFERENCE.
THE DASHBOARD HAS A CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AIRBAG CUTOUT IS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED THERE WILL BE PICTURES OF DASH BOARD SHARDS FIYING THROUGH THE AIR AND POSSIBLY INTO THE OCCUPANTS WITH FORCE FROM THE AIRBAG.
CLUTCHES IN TRANSMISSION WHERE WHEN TRUCK IN DRIVE THE TRUCK WILL NOT GO TO 40 OR ABOVE. THE TRUCK WAS MOVING ON CITY STREET HEAD TOWARD 95 NORTH. AS A RESULT OF PROBLEM I HAD TO USE AAA TO GET BACK TO BALTIMORE FROM FREDERICKBURG VA THIS IS THE SECOND TIMES SINCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MY NAME THAT THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN. THE FIRST TIME WAS JULY 26 2016 WHERE THE DEALERSHIP REPAIR (UNDER WARRANTY) THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM SEEM VERY IMMATURE DUE AGE OF TRUCK AND LESS THAN 65000 MILES

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING SENSOR WAS REPLACED, BUT FAILED TO REMEDY THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND LOCATED DTC CODE: WAS-B0085-00. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,979.
SAFETY BELTS ARE NOT LOCKING WHEN BREAKS ARE APPLY ON A STOP LIGHT, OR DURING A SUDDEN STOP. ALL FOUR SAFETY BELTS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. BEING THIS A SAFETY ISSUE, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THERE IS A RECALL TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
PAINT IS CHIPPING AND PEELING ALONG UPPER WINDSHIELD. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ROCKS OR HAIL OR ANY OTHER REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. A FLAKE CAME OFF ONE DAY AND AS TIME WENT BY I BEGAN TO NOTICE MORE AREAS. UPON A GOOGLE SEARCH OF CHEVY FORUMS I FIND THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON ISSUE, RIGHT DOWN TO THE SPECIFIC YEAR/MAKE/MODEL AND AREA OF DAMAGE.
DASHBOARD CRACKED ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE BEND FROM FLAT TO UPRISING. VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN THIS OCCURRED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE DASHBOARD CRACKED ON TOP BY AIR BAG
DASH HAS CRACKED NEAR PASSENGER AIRBAG, HEARD A LOUD POP WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE THEN NOTICED THE CRACK, POOR QUALITY PLASTIC OR OTHER ISSUE IS OCCURRING TO THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES, HOW LONG BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED BEFORE IT GETS INVESTIGATED

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JEFF SCHMITT CHEVROLET SOUTH, 125 S GEBHART CHURCH RD, MIAMISBURG, OH 45342, (855) 529-1732), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD BE THE CONTACT'S RESPONSIBILITY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,787.
DASH AND AIRBAG SUPPORT SYSTEM CRACKED IN MULTIPLE AREAS. POSING A SAFETY RISK
THE WIPES STARRED WHILE DRIVING GOING SLOW AND WOULD JUST STOP. WHICH AFTER TALKING TO CAR SPECIALIST WAS TOLD IT WAS TGE MOTOR HAD HONE BAD. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 90K ON IT SHOULD THIS HAPPEN SO SOON? THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO SUDDENLY HAPPEN WITH NO WARNING OR INDICATION THE MOTOR WAS GOING BAD. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON HIGHWAY AND IN CITY A 30 TO 40 MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME.
DASHBOARD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED NEAR THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE AIRBAG. THE DASHBOARD WAS INTACT WHEN LOCKED UP OVERNIGHT, AND WHEN I RETURNED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK THE NEXT MORNING, THE DASHBOARD HAD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED OVERNIGHT WHILE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY.
TWO CRACKS APPEARED ON DASHBOARD NEAR AIR BAG.
I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY DASH, I PUT A BLANKET OVER IT AND A SUN VISOR TO PROTECT IT FROM THE SUN. YET, IT STILL MANAGED TO GET A CRACK. I BELIEVE IT MIGHT BE DUE TO GM USING CHEAP MATERIAL OR OVER TIGHTENING THE DASH. THIS HAD TO HAPPEN ON A VERY HOT DAY WHEN MY TRUCK WAS PARKED.
PAINT HAS PEELED OFF ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD, PAINT LOOKS VERY THIN AND BRITTLE. DASHBOARD HAS TWO CRACKS NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I AM WORRIED THAT IF THE AIRBAG EVERY WENT OFF THE PIECE OF PLASTIC WILL BE SHOT OFF AND BE A PIECE OF SHRAPNEL IN AN ACCIDENT.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BLINKS OFF AND ON,TRACTION AND STABILITY GOES OFF THEN BACK ON ,ENGINE RUNS AND IDLES ROUGH AND SOMETIMES SHIFTS HARD.THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING STILL (FOR THE LIGHTS AND ROUGH IDLE) NOT THE HARD SHIFTING. WHILE SEARCHING ON INTERNET ,FOUND IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 5.3L CHEVY/GMC ENGINE.
DASH BOARD CRACKED UPPER LEFT CORNER OVER AIRBAG
ENGINE USES 3 QUARTS OIL BETWEEN REQUIRED OIL CHANGES. #2 PROBLEM 4WD SWITCH IF I USE AUTO 4WD . 4WD DOES NOT ENGAGE AND WONT SWITCH OUT OF AUTO .I WAS TOLD AT DEALER SHIP JUST DON'T USE AUTO 4WD IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM
