WHILE AT LOW SPEEDS, USUALLY DURING A PARKING LOT MANEUVER TYPE CONDITION... MY TRUCK'S ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SEEMS TO SHUT DOWN SEVERAL TIMES FOR LIKE A SECOND OR TWO AT A TIME. BUT IT HAPPENS RAPIDLY. LLKE 4 TO 5 TIMES WITHIN 10 SECONDS. DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC STEERING NOT OPERATING WHEN IT DOES THIS, IT WILL BOUNCE THE STEERING SPORADICALLY WHEN IT CUTS ON/OFF AND KIND OF SCARE YOU. AT THE SAME TIME THE SAD LIGHTS FLICKER AND THE DOOR LOCKS LOCK AND UNLOCK RAPIDLY. EVEN AS A VETERAN DRIVER, IT ALL HAPPENS SO FAST THAT YOU CANNOT REGAIN CONTROL EASILY. WHEN I STOP, TURN THE TRUCK OFF THEN RESTART IT, IT'S BEEN OK. THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED 3 TIMES. BUT IT CLEARLY SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION SYSTEM SHUTTING ON/OFF REALLY FAST.
PAINT HAS CONTINUED TO CHIP OFF THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE IN LARGE SECTIONS. THE BODY SHOPS HAVE COMMENTED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS ISSUES INVOLVING CHEVROLET PAINT. CHEVROLET KNOWS THE PRIMER UNDER THE PAINT IS DEFECTIVE. CHEVROLET HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.
DASH HAS CRACKED IN 2 DIFFERENT SPOTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG AND WIRES WERE NOT EXPOSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the front driver’s and passenger’s side door handles had malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The contact indicated that the front driver side exterior door handle detached from the door and both the driver’s side and passenger’s side interior door handles would not function and could not be used to open the doors. The door handles were all replaced by the owner. The local dealer and manufacturer were contacted regarding the failures, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 40,000.
AFTER TAKING A 780 MILE ROUND TRIP TO MISSOURI FROM TEXAS, WHEN FILLING UP I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT HAD PEELED OFF IN LARGE CHUNKS AT THE HOOD AND ROOF. HAS SEVERAL SMALL AREAS THAT THE PAINT IS CHIPPING. IT LOOKS AS IF THE PAINT WILL NOT ADHERE TO THE BODY ANYMORE.
CRACK DASHBOARD BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I OWN THIS TRUCK FROM DAY 1 AND ALWAYS HAD TINTED WINDOW AND USE WINDSHIELD SUN SHADE.
MY 2013 CHEVY SILVERADO HAS AN AIR CONDITIONING PROBLEM. SO DID MY OLD TRUCK, A 2010, WHICH I TEASED IN FOR THE 2013. I HAVE RAN ACROSS MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS IF THIS ON THE CHEVY'S ON GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE. I ONLY HAVE 21,000 MILES ON THIS 2013. GM SHOULD REPLACE THE PART(S) TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. I HAVE NO PROBLEM TRADING IT IN FOR ANOTHER MAKE OF A DIFFERENT TRUCK. I LOVE WHERE THE HIGHS CAN BE 100 DEGREES EASILY, NOT GOOD IF THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS! THE AC BLOWS WARM. I'M NOT PAYING $1000.00 FOR THE FIX THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN DONE BY GM IN THE FIRST PLACE!! I BOUGHT THIS USED VEHICLE IN NOV 2017.
DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE NEW AIR BAGS TO REPLACE DUE TO TAKATA HAS NOT COME UP WITH A RESOLUTION.
GOT IN MY TRUCK ONE MORNING AND NOTICED TWO LARGE CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD. VEHICLE HAD BEEN STATIONARY AND IN THE GARAGE THE NIGHT PRIOR. ONE RIGHT ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE DRIVER SIDE, RUNNING ALL THE WAY TO THE WINDSHIELD. THE OTHER IS ADJACENT TO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I'M AFRAID THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS IT COULD SEND PLASTIC SHARDS FLYING, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
UPON WIPING MY DASHBOARD WITH A DRY CLOTH(NEVER USED ANY PRODUCTS TO CLEAN, OR TREAT THE DASHBOARD AREA) AND I DO NOT PARK VECHILE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT .... I NOTICED 4 TO 5 CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD AREA OF BOTH DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGERS SIDE...MOST CONCERNING... THAT 2 OF THE CRACKS ARE AROUND THE PASSANGER AIR BAG LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD...THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS A CONSUMER OF GM AND A CHEVY SILVERADO WHO PURCHASED A VECHILE THATS PRICED ABOVE $45,000. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE TAKEN VERY SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING THE LOCATION OF THESE CRACKS AND SHOULD BE A RECALL BY GM CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES.....
2013 CHEVROLET 1500 SILVERADO DASH CRACKED ABOVE PASSENGER AIR BAG COULD CAUSE FLYING SHARP PLASTIC PIECES IF DEPLOYED
WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WE HEARD A POPPING NOISE FROM FRONT OF CABIN . THEN SAW TWO CRACKS IN THE DASH. ONE AT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND THE OTHER ON DRIVER SIDE AT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
TAKATA RECALL.MY PROBLEM IS I GET A WARNING ON THE DASH. SAYS CHECK AIRBAG. IS THAT BAD

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BIG CITY AUTO (4910 LIMA RD, FORT WAYNE, IN 46808). THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO GO TO SUMMIT CITY CHEVROLET (5200 ILLINOIS RD, FORT WAYNE, IN 46804). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE LOBES ROUNDED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE EXHAUST LIFTERS COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
CRACKED DASH BOARD
I WAS DRIVING & HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS TILL I WAS CLEANING/VACUUMING MY VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY. I WAS CLEANING THE VEHICLE & THE DASHBOARD WAS VERY DIRTY SO I WAS LIGHTLY CLEANING IT WITH A RAG & THE RAG GOT STUCK SO WHEN I CHECKED WHAT IT WAS I NOTICED A VERY BIG CRACK. IT ALSO CRACKED BY THE AIRBAG & I HONESTLY FEEL LIKE THAT IS A HAZARD. IT BOTHERS ME TO THINK I'M PAYING OVER $40K FOR A VEHICLE THAT I CHOSE TO DEFEND MY FAMILY & MIGHT MALFUNCTION IF I'M EVER IN AN ACCIDENT.
RADIO VOLUME AND TURN SIGNAL SOUND STOPPED EVEN RADIO ON. WHEN TURNED COMPLETELY OFF, PHONE SYMBOL STARTED FLASHING ON RADIO SCREEN AND STAYED ON. SECURITY ALERTS FOR SEAT BELT, DOOR OPEN AND KEY IN IGNITION ALSO NOT WORKING. HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN FIRST STARTED AND PROBLEM AS CONTINUED WHILE DRIVING. WHEN TURNED OFF THE RADIO DISPLAY WILL NOT GO OFF EVEN THOUGH TURNED OFF. DEALERSHIP HAS NO CLUE WHAT'S WRONG. SAW ONLINE WHERE 2014 SILVERADO RECALLED FOR BASE RADIO PROBLEMS THAT ARE SIMILAR TO THIS PROBLEM (14V301000).
BACKUP LIGHTS WERE STUCK ON. HAD TRUCK RUNNING AND PUT TRUCK IN REVERSE. THE FUSE BLOCK UNDER THE HOOD STARTING BURNING. THE TRUCK KEPT RUNNING EVEN AFTER TURNING OFF THE SWITCH AND REMOVING THE KEY. HAD TO ACTUALLY PULL THE FUSE BLOCK OUT OF THE TRUCK TO GET IT TO TURN OFF AND STOP IT FROM BURNING. SITTING AT LOCAL DEALERSHIP NOW WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM. SHOULD HAVE TAKEN PICTURES.
WIPERS RUN VERY SLOWLY AND SOMETIMES STOP. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND HAS CAUSED ME TO STOP DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO OTHER TIMES. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. I'VE READ THIS MAY MAKE THE WIPER MOTOR WORK HARDER WHICH COULD LEAD TO A FIRE.
RIGHT AFTER PURCHASING MY USED TRUCK THAT HAD AROUND 68,000 MILES ON IT THE DASH CRACKED IN TWO DIFFERENT PLACES. THE DASH CRACKED JUST ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG.
HUGE CRACK ON THE DASH POSSIBLY AFFECTING THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. CRACK WAS THERE WHEN I GOT IN THE TRUCK IN THE MORNING.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKING LEADING TO RISK OF FLYING PLASTIC SHARDS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH WHERE THE AIRBAGS ARE DEPLOYED. THIS IS A DESIGN DEFECT ON CHEVY TRUCKS OF THIS MODEL YEAR AND SIMILAR DESIGN MODEL YEARS.
CRACKED DASH. COMMON ISSUE WITH 2007-2013 FROM A QUICK SEARCH ONLINE. CRACKED RIGHT AT AIR BAG SO WORRIED IF AIR BAG WERE TO COME OUT SHARDS OF PLASTIC WOULD DEFLATE AIR BAG OR HURT PASSENGERS.

RIGHT REAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE CAME LOOSE, RARELY USE BACK DOORS WENT TO OPEN ONE DAY AND IT WAS LOOSE. THEN THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BROKE A FEW MONTHS LATER.
THE DASH ON MY 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 HAS CRACKED JUST ABOVE THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. TO ME THIS POSES A SAFETY CONCERN SHOULD THERE BE A COLLISION CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY WHERE THE CRACK MAY PUNCTURE THE AIRBAG. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, BEING PARKED JUST IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE WHEN THE CRACK OCCURRED.
PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BETWEEN THE AIRBAG COVER AND THE FRONT OF THE DASHBOARD TOP PANEL. IT TURNS OUT THIS IS A PROBLEM OTHERS HAVE NOTICED ON THESE MODELS AS WELL. MY CONCERN IS THE PROXIMITY TO THE AIRBAG. OTHER OWNERS HAVE POSTED PHOTOS OF LARGER CRACKS AND HOLES IN THE DASHBOARD IN THIS LOCATION. I DON'T WANT IT TO CAUSE AN ISSUE WITH AIRBAG FUNCTIONALITY WERE THERE TO BE AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT EVENT. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS HAD BEEN CRACKED BUT IT WAS FIRST NOTICED BY MY WIFE ON 5/13/2017.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM CREWS CHEVROET IN NORTH CHARLESTON SOUTH CAROLINA. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 12000 MILES. APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AGO FOR NO APPARENT REASON I DISCOVERED A CRACK IN THE DASH NEAR THE PASSANGER AIR BAG. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CREWS CHEVROLET AND THE SERVICE PERSON STATED IT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO THE SUN. I PURCHASED GM'S MAJOR GUARD EXTENDED PROTECTION AND EVENTHOUGH THE DASH IS NOT LISTED UNDER ITEMS NOT COVERED I WAS TOLD THE DASH IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE CONTACTED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AM SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AGAIN ON 27 MAY 2017. THIS IS DEFINATELY A PRODUCT DEFECT OR MATERIAL DEFECT. I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET ALL THE OTHER CRACKED DASH ISSUES WITH GM/CHEVROLET. AT WHAT POINT IS GM/CHEVROLET GOING TO ADMIT THIS IS A DEFECT AND CUSTOMERS WILL SEE A RECALL? THIS CRACK RUNS RIGHT AT THE CORNER OF THE PASSANGER AIRBAG AND I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

I WENT TO OPEN MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR INSIDE AND THE HANDLE SNAPPED OFF IN MY HAND ,I CALLED MY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS UNDER MY WARRANTY, I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A BODY SHOP WHERE THE OWNER TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE THE WHOLE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL OF A LIST PRICE OF 430 DOLLARS , HE CALLED A GM DEALER TO ORDER THE PANEL, AND WE WERE BOTH TOLD THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK IT IS A DEFECT IN THE MANUFACTURING , AND HE TOLD ME TO CONTACT GM AND THEY WOULD HELP ME OUT WITH THIS ISSUE , I DID E-MAIL CHEVROLET , AND ON 12-31-2016, RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM A VERY NICE WOMAN WHO TOLD ME I AM COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASE FOR THIS REPAIR , AND THAT I WOULD BE HEARING BACK FROM THEM ON 1-3-2016, WELL I SURE DID HEAR BACK ONLY INSTEAD OF A REPUTABLE HONEST AND CARING COMPANY , THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CUSTOMER ACTUALLY WANT TO PURCHASE MORE GM PRODUCTS, I GOT THE GOON SQUAD , HIRED THUGS, WHO JOB IT IS TO TRY AND DENY ALL LEGITIMATE CLAIMS , IS IT GM POLICY TO TELL A CUSTOMER THEY ARE COVERED , AND THEN ONLY TO HAVE SOME IDIOT TO TRY AND TAKE THAT AWAY ??? , THIS GENIUS TRIES TO TELL ME BECAUSE A NON GM SHOP MADE THE REPAIR , THEY WILL NOT COVER THE WARRANTY, WELL GENIUS !!! BOUGHT TRUCK USED WITH 22000 MILES ON IT AND WENT TO CHECK SPARE TIRE AREA AND FOUND THE FRAME HAD A LOT OF RUST WHERE THE UNDERCOAT HAD PEALED OFF. WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST THEM ABOUT $1000 TO REPAIR AND WOULD COST ME $350 DUE TO THE WARRANTY WAS PAST THE 3 YEARS.
MY TRUCK HAS BEEN CONSUMING EXCESSIVE OIL. I HAVE USED THE SYNTHETIC OIL THAT IS SPECIFIED AND CHANGED THE OIL EVERY 5000 MILES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE BUT MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. I HAD TO SPEND ANOTHER $2,000 FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO COVER THE FUTURE FIXES THEY DESCRIBED. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WHEN IT WAS IDENTIFIED. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLD OF THE ISSUE UNTIL I COMPLAINED TO A CHEVY DEALER. THEY KNOW IT EXISTS YET THEY TRY TO FIX IT WITH A BAND-AIDE TYPE SOLUTION. IN THE END I HAD TO SPEND $2,000 TO COVER A PROBLEM THEY KNEW EXISTED YET DID NOT LET ME KNOW SO I COULD BRING IT IN BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. NOW I AM TOLD I HAVE TO ENDURE AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST REQUIRING ME TO DRIVE 45 MINUTES TO THE DEALER, WAIT FOR MY TEST AND RETURN AGAIN. THEN THEY EXPERIMENT WITH THREE DIFFERENT THINGS THAT MIGHT FIX IT BEFORE THEY REPLACE THE ENGINE COSTING ME TIME, MONEY AND INCONVENIENCE. AS I TYPE THIS I HAVE TO ENDURE THE CHEVY TRUCK COMMERCIAL THAT SAYS THEY ARE THE BEST BUILT, LONGEST LASTING TRUCK. I AM DISAPPOINTED AND FRUSTRATED. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM LONG AGO.
MY DASH CRACKED STRAIGHT LINE ABOVE AND ATTACHED TO AIRBAG, WASN'T THERE, NEXT DAY IT WAS,NOV 2016 38,000 MI. CALLED DEALERSHIP(S) AND I CALLED GM/CHEV SUPPORT AND THEY SAID SINCE IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NO RECALL I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT...I EXPRESSED MY CONCERNS AS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND OBVIOUS DEFECT.

SUMMARY: THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DECREASING STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE DASH AND INCREASING THE RISK OF PLASTIC SHARDS BEING EJECTED AT THE PASSENGER DURING AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED DEFECT AFFECTING MULTIPLE MODELS AND YEARS THAT SHARE THE SAME DASHBOARD DESIGN. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REFUSES TO VOLUNTARILY ADDRESS THE PROBLEM.
