THIS WAS HAPPENING IN COOLER WEATHER. I HAVE A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE IGNITION KEY WOULD STICK IN THE START POSITION AND THEN RETURN TO THE RUN POSITION. THIS HAS HAPPENED PROBABLY HALF A DOZEN TIMES. I SEE THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON OLDER MODELS, BUT APPARENTLY SOME NEWER ONES , SUCH AS MINE SHOULD BE INCLUDED. *TR
JUST BOUGHT THE TRUCK, FIRST DAY OR TWO DROVE SLOW NO ISSUES. ONCE I GOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING AROUND 65-70 MPG I START TO GET A VIBRATION AND SHAKING TO THE POINT IT FEELS NOT SAFE AT ALL. I LOOKED UP ON THE INTERNET AND TONS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. TRUCK IS BRAND NEW TRUCK. *TR
WAS TOWING A TRAILER, STOPPED AND FILLED UP WITH GAS. AS LEAVING THE GAS STATION, DASH LIGHTS DIMMED AND BRIGHTENED ON THEIR OWN, THEN WASHER PUMP STARTED SQUIRTING FLUID WITHOUT WIPER BLADES MOVING. WASHER PUMP CONTINUED SQUIRTING TILL THE RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY AND BURNED THE PUMP. AFTERWARDS, ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, EXCEPT FOR THE DASH LIGHTS. ALSO, LOST ALL PARKING, HEAD LAMPS, TURN SIGNAL AND BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE 2014 SILVERADO 1500, EXCEPT FOR HIGH MOUNT STOP LAMP, WHICH WAS STUCK ON BRIGHT, AS IF BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. UPON READING OWNERS MANUAL, THERE IS A REFERENCE TO LOOSING LIGHTS UNDER "ELECTRICAL OVERLOAD". ALL ELECTRONICS BEING USED WAS FACTORY INSTALLED, OTHER THAN THE TRAILER THAT WAS BEING PULLED. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE ISSUE. THEY REPLACED A BODY CONTROL MODULE. ONE WEEK AFTER GETTING THE TRUCK BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THE DASH LIGHTS HAVE DIMMED AND BRIGHTENED ON THEIR OWN AGAIN, THEREFORE, I AM AFRAID TO HOOK MY TRAILER BACK UP IN FEAR OF LOOSING ALL MY LIGHTS AGAIN, OR WORSE, DRIVING AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN, WASHER PUMP STARTS SQUIRTING FLUID AND GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. AFTER TALKING TO GM DIRECTLY, THEY CANNOT PROVIDE AN ANSWER TO WHAT HAPPENED OR WHY THEY WOULD REFERENCE THE "LOOSING LIGHTS UNDER ELECTRICAL OVERLOAD" IN THE OWNERS MANUAL, BECAUSE OF A KNOWN DEFECT OR ISSUE THAT WOULD HINDER THEIR PROFITS. *JS
TRUCK ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN NORMAL TRAFFIC. COASTED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON SOLID. TOOK TO A CHEVROLET DEALER WHO REFUSED TO WORK ON IT BUT TOLD ME THE 3 CODES SHOWING RELATED TO THE CAMSHAFT. DROVE THE TRUCK HOME AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS MISFIRING AS IT WAS JERKING AROUND THE ENTIRE TIME. CHEVROLET HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO SAID, AGAIN, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. TOLD THEM THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE AND THE DEALERS ARE JUST CLEARING THE CODES BECAUSE THEY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE ON THE WARRANTY WORK. AWAITING RESOLUTION FROM GENERAL MOTORS. THEY TOLD ME FOR NOW, I JUST NEED TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT LANDERS CHEVROLET, BENTON, AR 72015, ON 10/30/14. THE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE OIL. ON NOVEMBER 6, 2014, THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE STREET AT A RATE OF 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE MANAGER STATES THAT THE BACK TIRES ARE WORN WHICH INDICATES ABUSE. GM WAS CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND EVERY TIME WE HAVE CONTACTED THEM, THE REPRESENTATIVES HAVE STATED THAT THE TIRES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE IS UNDER WARRANTY AND HAS TO BE REPLACED. GM THEN CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEIR GM REP. STATED THAT HE DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE DUE TO THE TIRES. WE CONTACTED GM AGAIN AND WHEN THE REPRESENTATIVE CALLED US BACK, THEY STATED THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE UNDER WARRANTY BASED ON THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
VECHILE STATES DRIVE WITH CARE ASSISTED STEERING DISABLED NO POWER STEERING NO TRACTION CONTROL AND SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (ABOVE 50 MPH) AFTER DRIVING FOR 20 MINUTES TO 1/2 HR, A SLIGHT TURN TO THE LEFT (AT SPEED) CAUSES THE STEERING TO STICK/BIND. IT MAY BE A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THIS PREVENTS THE WHEEL FROM RETURNING TO CENTER FROM THE LEFT TURN. THE RESISTANCE CAN BE OVERCOME BY INCREASING TO FORCE APPLIED TO EITHER RETURN THE WHEEL TO CENTER OR TO INCREASE THE LEFT TURN. UPDATE 9/15/15*CW *CN
2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAULTY HEADLIGHTS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT, WHILE HER SON WAS DRIVING. *JB
THE REAR SEAT HEAD RESTS ON THE 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO Z71 DOUBLE CAB 1500 TRUCKS DO NOT PROVIDE PROTECTION. THEY DO EXTEND UP SOME BUT NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT STAY IN PLACE WHEN EXTENDED UP, THEY ALSO DO NOT EXTEND UP HIGH ENOUGH FOR EVEN A 5' 8" PERSONS HEAD. THE REST STILL ALLOWS THE PASSENGERS HEAD TO HIT THE REAR WINDOW. WHEN ONE RESTS THEIR HEAD BACK THE REST EASILY GOES DOWN AND DOES NOT LOCK IN PLACE. REAR IMPACTS WOULD DEFINITELY RESULT IN A HEAD INJURY. OTHERS ON VARIOUS CHEVROLET ONLINE FORUMS HAVE NOTICED THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT LET ADULTS RIDE IN THE REAR DOUBLE CAB AREA OF THE TRUCK. PAINT AND FRAME COATING DEFECTIVE.
MY 84 YEAR OLD FATHER HIT A DEER ON THE RIGHT FRONT BUMPER OF HIS 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO LTZ GOING 55 MPH ON OCTOBER 30, 2014. ALL OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVERS AIR BAG. THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. IN ADDITION TO THE DRIVERS AIR BAG NOT DEPLOYING, THERE WAS STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BUMPER. MY FATHER TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO JAMES WOOD MOTORS DECATUR, 2111 S HWY 287, DECATUR, TX 76234, TO GET AN ESTIMATE ON REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THEY TALKED HIM INTO TRADING HIS 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO LTZ WRECKED VEHICLE FOR A 2015 CHEVY SILVERADO LTZ. [XXX] TOLD MY FATHER THAT THEY WOULD BE SALVAGING THE VEHICLE, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, AND THEY ENCOURAGED HIM TO TRADE IN HIS WRECKED VEHICLE BECAUSE THE TRADE IN VALUE WOULD BE AFFECTED BY THE CRASH. KEEP IN MIND THAT MY FATHER HAD A LONG RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM WITH TRADING IN VEHICLES FOR NEWER ONES AND THEY KNEW THAT MY FATHER WAS VERY CONCERNED WITH THE TRADE-IN VALUE OF HIS VEHICLE. THEY NEVER DISCUSSED WITH MY FATHER THE FACT THAT THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. TODAY, I RAN A CAR FAX CHECK ON MY FATHER'S CRASHED VEHICLE AND THE REPORT SHOWS: NO ACCIDENTS REPORTED, NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE REPORTED, NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT REPORTED. ALSO, THE CAR FAX REPORT SHOWS A NEW OWNER FROM GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS, THAT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 3-36-2015. I THINK IT'S OUTRAGEOUS THAT JAMES WOOD MOTORS DECATUR TOOK ADVANTAGE OF MY FATHER BECAUSE OF HIS AGE, ENCOURAGED HIM TO TRADE IN HIS WRECKED VEHICLE AND THEN THEY TURNED AROUND AND SOLD THE VEHICLE TO SOMEONE WITHOUT REPORTING ANY OF THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND THE FACT THAT THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I STARTED HEARING SOME TICKING. AND NO BIG DEAL THE NEXT DAY THE MOTOR JUST VIBRATED AND THEM STOPPED ACCELERATING, STARTED RATTLING. FREAKED ME OUT BIG TIME, I'VE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS. I'M NO MECHANIC, BUT THIS AIN'T NORMAL. I FEAR THE WORST. *TR
BOUGHT A NEW 2014 CHEVY PICKUP WITH FOUR (4) MILES ON IT AND IT HAS A VIBRATION THAT THE DEALER CAN NOT REPAIR (3) TIMES IT NOW HAS 736 MILES MOSTLY PUT ON BY THE DEALER. THE MORE I DRIVE IT THE WORSE IT GETS, GM & CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION HAVE BEEN NO HELP! *JS
AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, STILL WON'T PASS SMOG CERTIFICATION IN CALIFORNIA. PURCHASED IN OREGON, LESS THEN 30 MILES FROM CALIFORNIA. *TR
I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND TRAVELING BETWEEN 70-75. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO FEEL ROUGH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BLINKING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON. I EXITED THE FREEWAY AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT TO THEM. THE ENGINE IDLED ROUGHLY AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING AIR OR GAS AND WOULD DIE. AS I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP IT SHIFTED ROUGHLY, WOULD ONLY GO 55, WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY, AND HAD SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF POWER. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THE CODE WAS FOR A MISS FIRE ON PLUG 6. THEY CHECKED TO SEE IF THE PLUG OR WIRES HAD BECOME LOOSE. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A VALVE SPRING AND LATER DECIDED IT WAS A BENT PUSH ROD AND HAVE DISASSEMBLED THE HEAD TO INSPECT FURTHER. THEY ARE CONTACTING THE ENGINEERING DEPT. AT GM TO FIND OUT WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS ISSUE. THIS IS OUR SECOND TRUCK THIS YEAR. OUR FIRST WAS A 2014 SILVERADO 1500 2X4, PURCHASED IN MAY W/ 4000 MILES, ROLLED DOWN A HILL ON JULY 26TH AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR WHILE UNOCCUPIED, LOCKED AND IN PARK. GM WAS "UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG", AND CLOSED OUR CASE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS VERY HELPFUL AND THIS IS OUR REPLACEMENT TRUCK. WE TOOK A LOSS BUT UPGRADED TO THE 4X4 BECAUSE THEY HAD ALREADY BEEN COVERED IN THE RECALL OF JUNE 27, 2014 "IN EFFECTED VEHICLES, AN ELECTRICAL SIGNAL SHORT MAY CAUSE THE TRANSFER CASE TO SHIFT TO NEUTRAL WITH OUT THE DRIVER'S INPUT." WE HAVEN'T EVEN MADE OUR FIRST PAYMENT. *TR
I BEGAN TO NOTICE SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE DRIVE TRAIN AT 55 MPH, SIMILAR TO A WASHBOARD EFFECT. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE DOWN SHIFTED VERY HARD WHEN STOPPING. I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALER ON THIS DATE AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL OPERATION. IN DECEMBER, OF 2014, I TRIED PASSING A VEHICLE AND EXPERIENCED A LOUD THUMP IN THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE, I THOUGHT THE DRIVE SHAFT WAS GOING TO FALL OUT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THEY BOTH CLAIM THIS IS NORMAL. NOW THE VIBRATION HAS GOTTEN WORSE, IT CAN OCCUR AT 40-45, 50-55, AND 60 TO 65. I HAVE OWNED GM TRUCKS BEFORE AND THE ONLY TIME I HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS WAS WHEN THE DRIVE SHAFT ON A 1994 SAFARI VAN WAS OUT OF BALANCE HAD TO BE RE BALANCED. I HAVE NOTED SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER 2014 -15 VEHICLE OWNERS. THIS TYPE OF OPERATION HAS TO BE DAMAGING THE GEARS AND TRANSMISSION. I HAVE CALLED THE GM AREA REP AND GOT AN ATTITUDE FROM HIM. HOWEVER, I DO HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE SELLING DEALER, (3RD WITH HIM, 4TH OVER ALL) THIS WEEK. AND WAS TOLD TO CALL THE GM REP WHEN I ARRIVE.
TRUCK HAS A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED FIXES BUT THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS TO THIS DAY.
I PURCHASED THIS 2014 SILVERADO PICK UP NEW. AT ABOUT 20000 MILES IT BEGAN NOT STARTING, STOPPING WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE STEERING WHEEL IS JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS/ MOST OF THE RECORDED INFORMATION IS ERASED, THE INTRUSION ALARM ICON IS LIT AND MUST BE CANCELLED. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED YET. I HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL GM DEALERS. COMPLAINED TO GM DIRECTLY SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE MANY EMAILS FROM ME TO GM AND FROM GM TO ME. MY LOCAL DEALER HAS NOW REFUSED TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE. THEY PUT A COMPUTER ON IT AND IF THERE IS NO FAULT CODE THEY SAY "IIF THERE ISN'T A CODE WE WOULDN'T KNOW WHERE TO START" (A DIRECT QUOTE) THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 80000 MILES AND I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME 60000 MILES MY WIFE AND I BOTH HAVE CANCER AND MUST TRAVEL 233 MILES ONE WAY FOR CHEMO AND TREATMENT EVERY 28 DAYS AND I NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE. THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED TO MEET THAT NEED BUT HAS FAILED TO LIVE UP TO THE HYPE FROM GM AND THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS NOT SATISFACTORY I NEED SOME HELP NOW.

IN ADDITION, THE STABILITRAK WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM BROWNE CHEVROLET (LOCATED 11300 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612) WHERE THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFT CONTROL MODULE AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER WERE REPROGRAMMED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V414000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT A REMEDY PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. AFTER SWITCHING GEARS INTO THE DRIVE POSITION, THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SWITCHED FROM THE REVERSE POSITION TO THE DRIVE POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE ACTING FUEL MANAGEMENT MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED AT 8 PM ON 9/22/2014. WHEN DRIVING ON 9/25/2014, THE TRUCK VIBRATED AS THOUGH I WAS DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, 55-75 MPH. IN HI-2 MODE IN DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY, SHIFTING WITH A MILD CLUNK AT LOWER GEARS. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND DESCRIBED THE ISSUES TO A SERVICE PERSON AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE ON 9/29/2014. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PROBLEMS WERE PROBABLY DUE TO ALIGNMENT ISSUES. ON 9/28/2014, I DROVE THE TRUCK AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME SHIFTING AND VIBRATION ISSUES. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY NEAR MY DESTINATION AND STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM THE STOP, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE AND "REVVED". IT HAD SWITCHED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT ANY INPUT FROM ME. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER STILL INDICATED THAT I WAS IN DRIVE MODE. I DRIFTED INTO THE INTERSECTION, UNABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO MOVE. I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK, THEN NEUTRAL, AND THEN DRIVE. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO DRIVE AND THEN I FELT A STRONG "THUNK" THAT FELT AS THOUGH I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED BY A CAR GOING AT LEAST 25 MPH. THE TRUCK THEN DROVE NORMALLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET. I HAD TO STOP AT THE LIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE UNDERPASS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN, LEAVING ME DRIFTING INTO AN INTERSECTION. ON THE FOUR OTHER DAYS THAT WE HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK, IT WAS DRIVEN ONLY A FEW MILES EACH DAY, AT LOW SPEEDS. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED. THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAS LESS THAN 300 MILES ON IT. ADDITIONALLY, SOME OF THE ISSUES I HAVE EXPERIENCED ARE SIMILAR TO THOSE ADDRESSED BY A RECALL, BUT THIS TRUCK'S VIN IS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL. *TR

GM IS UNABLE TO RESOLVE AFTER 12 DEALER ATTEMPTS TO ADDRESS, INCLUDING MULTIPLE SETS OF TIRES, REAR DIFFERENTIAL, DRIVE SHAFTS AND SHOCK ABSORBERS ALL FAILING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. GM STATED VIBRATION IS INHERENT TO THE DESIGN AND NO FURTHER ACTION NEEDED OR WILL BE TAKEN EVER FOR VIBRATION, REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCE. SUCH A VIBRATION IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY DEFECT BECAUSE IT IS ESSENTIALLY LIKE CUTTING WIRES TO WARNING TELL-TALES BY REMOVING A DRIVER'S ABILITY TO DISCERN TIRE/SUSPENSION/POWERTRAIN/STEERING PROBLEMS THAT CAN ONLY BE IDENTIFIED BY FEELING A VIBRATION (SUCH AS A LOOSE WHEEL OR DAMAGED SUSPSENSION COMPONENTS) PRIOR TO A CATASTROPHIC EVENT, ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS. NOT ONLY FOR THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, BUT ALSO FOR ANY ROAD USER WHEN IT RESULTS IN THE DRIVER LOOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. GM'S OWN ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE VEHICLE WITH THE LIST OF PARTS ABOVE IRREFUTABLY SUPPORTS THE INABILITY FOR A DRIVER TO IDENTIFY THE SOURCE OF A VIBRATION. IF EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS AND SUBSEQUENT CORPORATE ENGINEERS CANNOT RECOGNIZE THE VIBRATION AS BEING DIFFERENT FROM WHEELS, SUSPENSION, POWERTRAIN; THEN A NORMAL DRIVER WILL HAVE NO SUCH WARNINGS AVAILABLE SHOULD A POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC SAFETY ISSUE BE PRESENT. UPON DELIVERY OF NEW 2014 CREW CAB SILVERADO, WITH 21 MILES, FRAME RUST WAS OCCURRING AND COATING WAS PEELING OFF. GM IS AWARE OF ISSUE AND HAS A TSB, #PI0564D, BUT DEALERSHIPS ARE RELUCTANT OR UNWILLING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I LIVE IN THE NORTH EAST WITH HEAVY ROAD SALTING AND BEFORE THE TRUCK HAS EVEN SEEN WET PAVEMENT, THE FRAME IS RUSTING DUE TO MANUFACTURER DEFECTS DURING THE ASSEMBLY. I AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO GET SATISFACTORY REPAIR WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. WHILE MOVING FROM A STOP THE TRUCK SOMETIMES LAGS IN ACCELERATION WHICH MAY CAUSE THE OPERATOR TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR FURTHER THAN REQUIRED TO ENTER TRAFFIC. THIS CONDITION ALSO MAY CAUSE A SHORT ACCELERATION DELAY WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THAT CAN BE UNEXPECTED BY THE OPERATOR. AFTER DRIVING MY NEW TRUCK 900 MILES I INVESTIGATED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY BRACKET TO FIND THAT THE ENTIRE BRACKET IS NOT PROPERLY FASTENED STRUCTURALLY TO THE FIRE WALL BY DESIGN. I INSPECTED MY TRUCK ON 12/23/14 AND FOUND THIS PROBLEM, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BRACKET FLEX ON MY TRUCK LOOKS TO BE ~3/4" TO 1" BEFORE THE ELECTRONIC LINKAGE ENGAGES. THE PEDAL TIP-IN ENGAGEMENT HAS TO FLEX THE MOUNTING BRACKET BEFORE THE ELECTRONIC ACCELERATION SWITCH ENGAGES. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE GM ENGINEERING AND DESIGN TEAM'S WOULD APPROVE OF SUCH A FLIMSY MOUNTING BRACKET FOR THIS IMPORTANT PART OF BASIC MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATION. I FEEL OVER TIME AND USAGE THAT THIS BRACKET MAY COMPLETELY FAIL AS CURRENTLY DESIGNED. SHORTLY AFTER STARTING TRUCK AND DEPARTING TO LOCAL STORE I NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 3-4 MILES MY GAS TANK WENT FROM 3/4 FULL TO NEARLY EMPTY, AROUND THE SAME TIME PASSERBY'S STARTED FLAGGING ME DOWN STATING THAT MY TRUCK WAS LEAKING FUEL AND SMOKING FROM UNDERNEATH. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING WITHOUT A TEST DRIVE IT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A VIBRATION, STEERING PROBLEM, AND SCRATCHES ON THE BED.. I SPOKE WITH THE BUSINESS MANAGER AND THEY PUT A SPAY IN BED LINER TO FIX THE SCRATCHES AND DID A BALANCE ON THE TIRE. I PICKED THE TRUCK UP AND THE STEERING AND VIBRATION PROBLEMS WERE STILL THERE. IT WENT BACK INTO THE SHOP AGAIN AND THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE ANY PROBLEMS. THE STEERING IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP IN A STRAIGHT LINE IT SWERVES AS IF THE TRUCK HAD A FEW DRINKS. I TOLD THEM IT DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT AND I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO HIT SOMEONE. I WILL NOT DRIVE IN THE MIDDLE LANES. I HAVE TO DRIVE ON EITHER FAR LEFT OR RIGHT LANES TO ALLOW FOR SWERVING. I'M WAS SUPPOSED TO PICK UP THE TRUCK TODAY BUT I COMPLAINED AND THEY WERE GOING TO TEST DRIVE IT AGAIN. THEY DON'T FACTOR IN THE TIME AND INCONVENIENCE OF HAVING TO TAKE OFF WORK PLUS GAS AND MILES IN TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS TRUCK. *TR

THE DEALER HAS MADE FIVE UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS TO FIX IT ALREADY AND CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND HAS REFUSED TO TRY TO FIX IT ANYMORE. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I HAVE FOUND THAT ONE OUT OF FIVE GM TRUCKS (CHEVY & GMC) HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NOT MANY PEOPLE REPORTING THIS YET. DO NOT BUY OR LET ANYONE YOU KNOW BUY A CHEVY & GMC TRUCK IN THE 2014 OR 2015 YEARS, 1 IN 5 ARE LEMONS THE VIBRATIONS ARE SO BAD THAT IT WILL MAKE YOU CAR SICK AFTER A FEW MILES AND CAN AGGRAVATE EXISTING CONDITIONS SUCH AS PEOPLE WITH BACK ISSUES. THE DEALER BALANCED THE TIRES AND TOLD ME THAT IS ALL THEY CAN DO ABOUT THE VIBRATION. THROUGH SEARCHING THE INTERNET AND TALKING WITH OTHER DEALERS I HAVE FOUND THAT MAY PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH NO HELP. DRIVE SHAFTS,AXLE SHAFTS, WHEELS AND TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND REAR ENDS HAVE BEEN REBUILT. NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP. MOST DEALERS HAVE WORKED THIS ISSUE ON SEVERAL TRUCKS. IF THIS VIBRATION IS COMING FROM ANY PART OF THE DRIVE TRAIN OR SUSPENSION AND THE PART HAS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR POSSIBLY DEATH. *TR

WORSE, THEY (CHEVROLET) CONTINUES TO SELL THESE TRUCKS KNOWING THERE ARE PROBLEMS. WORSE YET, THIS INFORMATION IS NOT BEING DISCLOSE TO NEW BUYERS UNDER THE VEIL OF "PERFORMING AS DESIGNED." TRUCK WAS TOOK TO GM SHOP FOR VIBRATION IN POWER TRAIN REPLACED REAR PROPELLER SHAFT. I DROVE TRUCK 60 MILES HOME SAME VIBRATION TOOK BACK TO SHOP. TOOK INST. TEC. AND TRANSMISSION TEC. FOR RIDE BOTH SAID YES YOU HAVE A VIBRATION AND A HARD UP AND DOWN SHIFT AT 20 TO 30 MPH. NOTHING DONE AT THIS TIME CALLED SHOP FOREMAN AND HE SAID WOULD GET FIELD ENGINEER INVOLVED NOT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM CASE # 71-1359113487 HAVE NOT HERD FROM THEM. VIBRATION HAS GOT WORSE IT WILL VIBRATE AT ANY CONSTANT SPEED FROM 0 TO 60 ALONG WITH A RUMBLING SOUND PLUS THE HARD DOWN AND UP SHIFT. 7117 MILES ON TRUCK NOW I FEEL IT IS GETTING UNSAFE TO DRIVE. GAS MILEAGE COMPLAINT . STATED MILEAGE (HWY ) IS 22 MPG , THE FIRST SIX MONTHES OF DRIVING DID ACHIEVE THIS STATED MILEAGE ,OCCASIONALLY AS MUCH AS 23 MPG .AFTER 2 RECALL SERVICE VISITS AND AN OIL CHANGE , THE MILEAGE ABRUPTLY DROPPED TO 18 MPG I COMPLAINED TO CHEV. SERVICE IN COTTAGE GROVE ,OR SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF 4 MONTHES THEY ADVISED ME TO CHANGE FUEL (SERVICE STATIONS ,) PUT A FUEL BOOSTER ADDITIVE IN THE TANK ,CHECK TIRE PRESSURE .THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL MNFRS. CHANGING THE FUEL BLEND FOR THE WINTER SEASON MAY BE THE CAUSE. NO SERVICE CODES IN THE COMPUTER . NONE OF THE SUGGESTED "FIXES" HAVE CHANGED THE MILEAGE ,STILL AT AROUND 18 MPG . SOMETHING CAUSED THIS SUDDEN DROP IN MPG .I HAVE A COUPLE OF IDEAS , 1. ONE RECALL WAS A COMPUTER SOFTWARE UPGRADE ,WRONG SHIFT PARAMETERS INSTALLED ? 2. AT PRESCRIBED OIL CHANGES ,06/03/14 &12/18/14 , ( TRUCK REQUIRES DEXOS 0-20 OIL ) MAYBE WRONG OIL WAS INSTALLED ? ONE INVOICE SHOWS 5W-30 WAS INSTALLED . HOWEVER DEALERSHIP DENIES INSTALLING WRONG OIL . HOW CAN I HAVE THE OIL ANALYZED TO DETERMINE WHICH IS IN THE TRUCK ? *JS
BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2014 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500. REAR END SHAKES BADLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. FEELS UNSAFE. DEALER UNABLE TO EFFECTIVELY DIAGNOSE AND CORRECT. PROBLEM STARTED FIRST DAY OF OWNERSHIP APPROX. 10 MILES ON TRUCK. PROBLEM STILL UNCORRECTED AND HAVE 2400 MILES ON TRUCK. ( 2 MONTHS ). *TR
BACKLASH WAS NOT SETUP PROPERLY FROM THE FACTORY. I HAD A LOUD WHINING NOISE FROM THE REAR END WHILE CRUISING AROUND 55 MPH. I HAVE HAD THE TRUCK IN 4 SEPARATE TIMES TO FIX IT. FIRST VISIT TO A DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO WORK ON IT. THE SECOND DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE RING AND PINION AND THE AXLE BEARINGS. THIS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM AT THE ORIGINAL SPEED BUT A NEW SOUND DEVELOPED WHILE DECELERATING FROM 50 AND DOWN TO 40. TOOK THE TRUCK BACK IN AGAIN AND REPLACED THE BEARINGS AGAIN. NOISE SEEMED FIXED AFTER THIS FIX BUT THE LONGER I DRIVE IT THE NOISE IS COMING BACK AGAIN AT 55 MPH. DEALER REFUSED TO WORK ON IT AGAIN SAYING THAT ITS NOT LOUD ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE AXLE BUT IF IT GETS LOUDER THEY WILL REPLACE THE AXLE. SPOKE TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THIS IS THE 3RD 2014 TRUCK THAT THE BEARINGS AND RING/PINION GEARS HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH VERY LOW MILES AND WITH IMPROPER BACKLASH SETUP FROM THE FACTORY. I HAVE A 2014 SILVER ADO WITH THE 5.3L V8, 3.42 LIMITED SLIP REAR END, 2 WHEEL DRIVE. I HAVE LOOKED INTO LEMON LAW FOR THE TRUCK BUT NOW THE DEALER IS SAYING THAT ITS NOT LOUD ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY FIXING IT AGAIN. *TR
