I MADE A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION GOING 0MPH TO 10MPH (LOW SPEED) AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. LUCKILY I HAD A ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO CLEAR THE INTERSECTION AND NOT GET T-BONED. I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND START IT AGAIN TO DRIVE OFF. NO DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND I STILL HAD POWER STEERING INDICATING THE KEY WAS STILL IN THE ON POSITION. I BELIEVE THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM AS THERE ARE AT LEAST 2 OTHER REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING IN THE NHTSA DATA BASE WITH THIS PARTICULAR TRUCKS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. THAT MEANS THERE ARE NOW 3 COMPLAINTS OUT OF 10 RELATING TO THIS VERY PROBLEM UNDER THE CATEGORY OF ENGINE FOR THIS TRUCKS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. THERE ARE ALSO MORE REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING ON VARIOUS FORMS AROUND THE INTERNET BUT HAVE NOT BEEN REPORTED TO THE NHTSA. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP 2 MONTHS AGO WITH 47,000 MILES ON IT AND THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED AT THE 50,000 MILE MARK. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER SHIP TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY KNOW KNOWLEDGE OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE OR ANY SERVICE BULLETINS OUT THERE RELATING TO THIS ISSUE BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK YET.
BRAKE PEDAL GETS REALLY HARD AND HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE WITH EVERYDAY DRIVING. TURN OFF ENGINE AND RESETS AND WORKS AGAIN.
I STOPPED TO EAT AT A RESTAURANT AND MY BRAKES GOT EXTREMELY HARD AND MY TRUCK DID NOT STOP I USED BOTH FEET TO JAM THE BRAKE DOWN AS HARD AS I COULD TO STOP. THERE WAS A CAR IN FRONT OF ME BUT IT WAS PULLING OUT AS I PULLED IN. MY TRUCK WOULD HAVE STRUCK THIS VEHICLE IF IT WEREN'T FOR THEM PULLING OUT. I WENT DIRECTLY TO A NEARBY MECHANIC TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY TRUCK. THEY TOLD ME THE VACUUM PUMP IS FAULTY AND THAT GM HAS A BULLETIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE. SO GM IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND KNOWS THEIR VEHICLES ARE DANGEROUS TO ITS CUSTOMERS AND THE PUBLIC. BUT THEY HAVE NOT ORDERED A RECALL TO FIX THE FAULTY VACUUM PUMP.
I WAS DRIVING AND THE RPM GOES UP AND DOWN. ITS BEEN DOING IT FOR AWHILE NOW. ILL HE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WELL SHIFT GEARS OR HAVING TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS. IT DOES BETWEEN GOING 60 TO 80 MPH. SOMETIMES I FEAR IT MIGHT SHIFT GEARS AND GET HIT OR LOSE CONTROL.
THE 8TH OF NOVEMBER 2018 WHILE TRAVELING THROUGH AUSTIN, TX - IN HEAVY TRAFFIC; I NEARLY REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE - THE BRAKES GOT REAL HARD, BUT THE VEHICLE KEPT ROLLING. THE BRAKES ACTED LIKE THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF. I TRIED THEM AGAIN AFTER RESUMED SPEED- AND I TESTED THEM - ON THE THIRD PUMP - THEY WERE ROCK-HARD AGAIN. A VEHICLE SHOP IN SAN ANTONIO WAS ABLE TO CONSISTENTLY REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT WAS A BAD VACUUM-PUMP-ASSIST. IT COST ME $455.00, IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT OIL FROM THE ENGINE COULD HAVE DAMAGED THE VACUUM BOOSTER AND/OR THE MASTER CYLINDER. HE TOLD ME CHEVY KNOWS ABOUT IT - #PIT5361B - BUT I NEVER KNEW ABOUT IT - I ALMOST REAR-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. VEHICLE HAD 48,500 MILES WHEN IT OCCURRED.
2016 CHEVY SILVERADO BRAKES ARE INACTIVE AT LOW SPEEDS. BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES VERY STIFF IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. TRUCK IS IN THE SHOP NOW GETTING REPAIRED. I WILL SEND MY VIN NUMBER WHEN I GET MY TRUCK BACK .
SUDDENLY IN EARLY NOVEMBER, WHEN I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT OR INTO THE DRIVEWAY IN MY HOME THE BRAKE PEDAL ON THE TRUCK WOULD SUDDENLY BECOME HARD AND INCOMPRESSIBLE. I NEARLY HIT OTHER VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS BECAUSE I COULDN'T BRAKE AT LOW SPEEDS. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE VACUUM PUMP WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
HAPPENED 2X (3/15/18 & 10/31/18) IN MOTION @ 70MPH ON HIGHWAY THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER RESET. GAUGES DROPPED TO 0, PEGGED OUT AT TOP, THEN BEGAN READING PROPERLY, SIMILAR TO THE VEHICLE STARTING. ALL OTHER SCREENS WENT BLACK AND RESET THEMSELVES. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS IS SIMILAR TO NHTSA DOCUMENT 2014-03896 ON 2014 GM SILVERADOS, BUT APPEARS TO BE DIFFERENT ROOT CAUSE. MY VEHICLE HAD A PHONE PLUGGED IN AND ANDROID AUTO IN USE, BUT I WAS NOT CHANGING VOLUMES OR SONGS. ALSO, THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS WHEN A PHONE CALL CAME IN.
THE 7" MYLINK SCREEN IS TOO BRIGHT AT NIGHT EVEN WHEN I DIM THE DASH LIGHTING. THERE IS AN OPTION IN THE SCREEN SETTINGS TO TURN OFF THE SCREEN, WHICH I DO USE, BUT THIS IS DISTRACTING TO GO THROUGH AND THE SCREEN TURNS BACK ON EVERYTIME I ADJUST THE HVAC OR RADIO. THE SCREEN NEEDS AN INDEPENDENT BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTMENT OR A BETTER SCREEN. I THINK A LED SCREEN WOULD WORK BETTER THAN THE CURRENT LCD SCREEN. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, THE STEERING LOST POWER AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED DAN CUMMINS CHEVROLET BUICK DEALER AT 859-987-4345 (LOCATED AT 1020 MLK JR BLVD, PARIS, KY 40361) ADD WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000. *TT UPDATED 12/20/18*JB
WHEN BACKING UP LOST POWER BRAKE ASSIST, ALSO WHEN PULLING FORWARD, WAS DROPPING MY BOAT OFF IN STORAGE CAUSING MY TO USE THE BRAKES A LOT WHEN BACKING UP, NO POWER ASSIST WHEN PULLING OUT OF GARAGE WHEN LEAVING, WHEN GOING DOWN ROAD BRAKES CAME BACK TO OPERATE AS NORMAL. NOW AFTER BACKING AND BRAKING 3 TIMES POWER ASSIST IS GONE BUT RETURNS WHEN DRIVING NORMAL. HAVE APPOINTMENT AT DEALER TOMORROW FOR CAL PROBLEMS (DASHBOARD SAYS CAL AND SMARTPHONE REMOTE START DOES NOT WORK) WILL HAVE BRAKES CHECKED.
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE THE BRAKES LOST ALL POWER ASSIST AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS COMPLETELY STIFF. I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTREMELY HARD TO PREVENT HITTING THE CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS MOVING SLOWLY AND THIS CONDITION CAME WITHOUT WARNING. MOMENTS EARLIER THE BRAKES HAD PERFORMED NORMALLY. THIS VEHICLE HAS 44,000 MILES.
THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE IN 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS IN SPEEDS LESS THAN 5 MPH. THE HAS BEEN REVIEWED BY A CERTIFIED CHEVROLET MECHANICS AND THEY SINCE THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE, THEY DON'T FEEL IT IS A MAJOR CONCERN. I WANT TO ENSURE THAT OTHERS ARE AWARE AS I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERN. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING WITH CHEVROLET TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THEM SINCE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT.
TRANSMISSION IS JERKY, AND DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. FAULTY TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS AND HEAT SENSOR. TRUCK HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOR 18 DAYS AND GM HAS NO ESTIMATE AS TO WHEN THE WIRING HARNESS WILL BE AVAILABLE. I'M PAYING FOR A 50K TRUCK AND PAYING FOR A RENTAL WITH NO END IN SIGHT. SHOULD BE A RECALL, SERVICE TECH AT DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE PART WAS BEING 'RE-TOOLED'
WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREET, APPLIED BRAKES AND BECAME REALLY HARD. IT WAS HARD TO STOP. PEDAL WAS REALLY HARD. HAD TO PRESS WITH BOTH FEET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK WITHOUT WARNING. ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. PARIS CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (1915 N MAIN ST, PARIS, TX 75460, (906) 669-1144) WAS CONTACTED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
BRAKES CONSISTENTLY TURNING ROCK HARD WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS IN BOTH THE FORWARD AND REVERSE POSITION. FIRST OCCASION 13,000 MILES. DEALER DENYS A PROBLEM. HOWEVER IT IMPROVED SLIGHTLY AFTER THE SERVICE CALL. STILL AN ONGOING ISSUE AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. AT 25KMILES NOW. OCCURS WHIRLE SLOWLY ON DRIVING ON ROADS & PARKING. VERY DANGEROUS GOIN DOWN HILLS OR IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC OR PREPAREING TO MERGE OR TURN ONTO ROADS. BRINGING BACK FOR SERVICE THIS WEEK. WILL UPDATE WHAT ACTION THEY DO/ DON'T TAKE.
BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES HARD WITH LITTLE TO NO BRAKES A LOW OR IDLE SPEEDS.
HARD BRAKE PEDAL AT LOW RPM
BRAKE PEDAL BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO PUSH. UNABLE TO STOP TRUCK THAT WAS IN MOTION IN A PARKING LOT.
MY BRAKES DO NOT PROPERLY FUNCTION IN WET WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE BRAKE PETAL BECOMES EXTREMELY STIFF, AS IF THERE IS AIR IN THE BRAKE LINES. THIS ALSO RESULTS IN A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF STOPPING POWER. WHILE JAMMING THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS I CAN, THE PADS NEVER MAKE SIGNIFICANT CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR. I HAVE ALREADY DAMAGED MY BUMPER BECAUSE OF THIS. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK DURING HEAVY RAINS. WHILE PRESSING MY BREAK PETAL, I NOTICED THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF STOPPING POWER. I COULD NOT STOP IN TIME, COLLIDING WITH THE PARKING BARRIER POLE. THE LOSS OF STOPPING POWER HAPPENS ROUTINELY DURING RAIN.
DURING SLOW TRAFFIC SITUATION BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES EXTREMELY HARD AND DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS WITH LOSS OF BRAKING TO THE POINT OF ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE STARTED "COLD" IN HOME OWNER'S DRIVEWAY. POOL OF FLUID OBSERVED ON GROUND AFTER MOVING VEHICLE 50'. VEHICLE PUT INTO PARK, I EXITED VEHICLE, SMELLED GASOLINE AND PHYSICALLY OBSERVED GASOLINE SPRAYING OUT @ SYSTEM FUEL PRESSURE FROM A RUPTURED GAS LINE IN MID SECTION OF UNDERCARRIAGE. GASOLINE WAS ALSO SPRAYING DIRECTLY ONTO MUFFLER. VEHICLE SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY. TURNED KEY ON WITHOUT STARTING VEHICLE AND GASOLINE AGAIN STARTED SPRAYING UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE. FIRE DEPT. NOTIFIED AND RESPONDED TO INCIDENT. NO VEHICLE FIRE RESULTED, HOWEVER VEHICLE WAS STARTED "COLD" . I BELIEVE RESULTS WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC HAD THIS HAPPENED WITH VEHICLE AT FULL OPERATING TEMP. DEALERSHIP STATED MY GAS LINE RUPTURE WAS FIRST THEY HAD SEEN ON A NEWER VEHICLE AND IT WAS A COMPOSITE GAS LINE. IT TOOK A WEEK TO GET REPLACEMENT PART FOR REPAIR TO BE MADE. I HAVE REQUESTED TO SEE THIS GAS LINE OR GIVEN A PICTURE BY DEALERSHIP. REPAIR COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS ISSUE POSES A SERIOUS FIRE/SAFETY PROBLEM TO OCCUPANTS IN AND AROUND VEHICLE AND NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO DETERMINE IF THIS TYPE OF GASOLINE LINE IS DEFECTIVE AND # OF VEHICLES POSSIBLY EFFECTED.
VACUUM PUMP IS LEAKING. WHEN I PUSH BRAKES IT GETS HARD AND TRUCK DOESN'T WANT TO STOP WHEN I PUSH BRAKES. I'VE ALREADY HAD BRAKES REPLACED AND IT STILL OCCURS AND I ALSO TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS VACUUM PUMP. MOTION, STREET, HIGHWAY, BRAKING
THE BRAKES DON'T HOLD AT TIMES. HAS HAPPENED WHILE BACKING UP AND DURING REGULAR DRIVING CONDITIONS. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED DURING CITY STREETS OR DURING STOP AND GO DRIVING. FEELS LIKE MY BRAKES NEVER ENGAGE BUT THE PEDAL IS PRESSED FULLY.
BRAKE VACUUM PUMP ISSUES DEALERS AWARE OF ISSUE & HAVE AN UPDATED VACUUM PUMP AVAILABLE. TRANSMISSION ISSUES WERE IT DOWN SHIFTS HARD AT TIMES & HAS A BAD SHATTERING WHEN UPSHISTING AT LOW SPEEDS TOOK IT 2 TIMES BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED SAID WAS JUST A SOFTWARE UPDATE. NEVER TOOK CARE OF ISSUE.
I EASED THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARKING SPACE, RELEASED THE GAS PEDAL, AND IT SURGED/JUMPED FORWARD. MY VEHICLE PUSHED THE OTHER VEHICLE IN OPPOSITE PARKING SPACE ABOUT A FOOT, CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES.
WHILE TAKING OFF FROM A STOP MY TRUCK IS MAKING A CLUNKING SCRATCH NOISE. ALSO WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE IT ALSO MAKES THIS NOISE OR IF I HAVE TO TURN THE WHEEL IT MAKES A POPPING NOISE. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE IS MORE WORN ON THE OUTSIDE THAN THE INSIDE. I'M TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT EVERY TIME THEY DO THE OIL CHANGE THEY ARE ROTATING MY TIRES. THIS DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WORN HEAVILY ON THE OUTSIDE AND NO OTHER TIRES EVEN APPEAR TO LOOK THIS WAY. I NOTICED A RECALL ON THE 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 TRUCKS, BUT WAS TOLD BY GM THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT IN THAT RECALL, BUT MY TRUCK IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS THE TRUCKS THAT WERE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. I NEED THIS LOOKED INTO. GM RECALL NUMBER FOR THE 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 WAS 42190. BUT AGAIN, I WAS TOLD BY GM THAT MY VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT LISTED UNDER THAT RECALL, BUT MY TRUCK IS HAVING THE SYMPTOMS OF HAVING FAULTY FRONT UPPER CONTROL ARM AND THE BUSHINGS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL CRACKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDES. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DYER CHEVROLET VERO BEACH (1000 US-1, VERO BEACH, FL 32960, (772) 617-4793) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR LED SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 9-5360687978. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 38,000.
I OWN A 2016 SILVERADO WITH A FAULTY BRAKE VACUUM PUMP. THE ISSUE WAS RECTIFIED BY A GM DEALER, AND SERVICE RECORDS ARE ATTACHED. I AM FILING A COMPLIANT TO ENSURE NHTSA IS AWARE OF A DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THIS TRUCK. THE ISSUE BECAME APPARENT OVER THE COURSE OF WEEKS. INITIAL PROBLEMS INCLUDED AN AUDIBLE CLICKING NOISE ONCE THE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED. AS THE PROBLEM PROGRESSED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BRAKE WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE ON INCLINES AS FLAT AS 2 DEGREES. THE REAR LEFT TURN SIGNAL, TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WORKS SPORADICALLY. IT'S A VERY EXPENSIVE PART ON A VEHICLE WITH 45000 MILES THAT SHOULDN'T QUIT.
AT 63000 MY TRUCK STARTED MAKING CLICKING AND POPPING NOISES IN THE FRONT END. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE ELECTRONIC RACK AND PINION WAS BAD. THIS PROBLEM IS EXIBITED IN 2014 GM TRUCKS AS WELL AND THE ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. A FAILING ASISTED STEERING COULD BE DANGEROUS AND CAUSE BIG PROBLEMS.
TS BULLETIN NO.: PIT5361B BRAKES LOSE VACUUM AT LOW SPEED (EG. STOP/START TRAFFIC, FAST FOOD DRIVE THROUGH LANES). IT'S AS IF THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF WHILE BRAKING. CHEVROLET CHARGED $645 TO REPLACE VACUUM PUMP.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (JIM BUTLER CHEVROLET, 759 GRAVOIS BLUFFS BLVD, FENTON, MO 63026) WHO REPLACED THE TIRES AND ROTATED AND BALANCED THE WHEELS, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,800. **TR CONSUMER STATED I HAD THE DEALER REINSTALL THE ORIGINAL WHEELS AND TIRE AND THE AGAIN ROAD FORCE BALANCE TIRES AND WHEELS THE VIBRATION WAS THE SAME. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK USED IN GALESBURG, IL YEMM CHEVROLET 248 MILES NORTH OF WHERE I LIVE, I HAD A CLEAN CARFAX CHECK GIVEN TO ME BY THE DEALER NOTICED THAT IT HAD A VIBRATION SO I PUT A NEW SET OF WHEELS AND TIRES GM (FACTORY WHEELS) THE TRUCK HAD THE SAME VIBRATIONS AFTER 6 TIMES GETTING THE WHEELS TIRE BALANCED (ROAD FORCED) I WAS TOLD THE 5TH TIME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED AND SENT HOME. HAD THE DEALER REINSTALLED THE ORIGINAL WHEELS AND TIRE WITH ANOTHER ROAD FORCE BALANCE STILL HAD THE VIBRATION, I WAS TOLD BY JIM KRIBBS AT JIM BUTLER THAT HE NEW THE GM REGIONAL MANAGER THAT HE WOULD GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED. RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2016 CHEVY SILVERADO IN MAY 2018, AND HAD 17,000 MILES ON IT, IN JULY 2018 NOTICED THE BRAKES WERE HARD TO MASH AND PULSATING WHILE DRIVING; IT'S NOT DOING IT ALL THE TIME, OFF AND ON. NEED TO KNOW IF THIS A RECALL ISSUE AND WHAT TO DO?
WHILE BACKING UP AT LOW SPEEDS TO HOOK UP TO A TRAILER ON AN INCLINE OR EVEN BACKING UP WITH TO NO TRAILER. MULTIPLE TIMES YOU LOSE THE POWER BRAKES WHICH IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY WHEN BACKING UP TO SOMETHING. MULTIPLE TIMES I'VE HAD TO STAND ON THE PEDAL AS HARD AS POSSIBLE TO STOP THE TRUCK FROM HITTING THE TRAILER. THE PEDAL HAS THE FEELING OF NO POWER BRAKES. THIS HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED WHICH WOULD BE TYPICAL BACKING UP TO HOOK ONTO A LOAD.
VEHICLE IS 2 YEARS OLD 26K MILES & BLACK PAINT IS FLAKING. LOOKS LIKE WHITE OVERSPRAY WHERE PAINT HAS FLAKED. WHITE SPOTS EVERYWHERE. METAL IS EXPOSED. NEVER HAD A VEHICLE FLAKE PAINT LIKE THIS. I DO NOT DRIVE ON GRAVEL ROADS. UNACCEPTABLE FOR A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE & PRICE. *TR
WAS GOING DOWN A STEEP HILL IN KENTUCKY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND WITHOUT WARNING THE BRAKE PEDAL GOT REALLY HARD TO PUSH AND THE TRUCK DIDN'T WANT TO STOP. ALSO HAPPENED AT A LOW RPM GOING DOWN THE APPROACH OF A DRIVEWAY. I AM ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT. ALSO AT RED LIGHTS IF I PUMP THE BRAKES THEY BECOME REALLY HARD TO PUSH.
I BOUGHT THE TRUCK BRAND NEW IN MARCH OF 2016. AT JUST OVER 2 YEARS AND 40,000 MILES, THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM STARTED FAILING INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, SEIZING CONTROL OF THE STEERING. IT HAPPENED WHILE STOPPED, THEN IT HAPPENED WHEN TURNING ON A CITY STREET. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A NEW VEHICLE. CHEVY IS REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND RECALL ON THE '14 & '15 MODEL YEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING INTO A FUEL STATION, UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE CONTACT HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID HITTING A PERSON AND A GAS PUMP. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND IT OPERATED NORMALLY AS THE POWER STEERING WAS RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (ALAMO CITY CHEVROLET, 9400 SAN PEDRO AVE, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78216, (210) 987-2134) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING SHORTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A CALL BACK AS THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
MY TRUCK HAS LARGE SPOTS OF PAINT CHIPPING OFF ALL OVER THE TRUCK. HOOD, CAB, TAILGATE AND SIDES. IT WAS GARAGE KEPT WITH NO EXPOSURE TO HAIL OR CHEMICALS. THE SERVICE MANAGE AT THE DEALERSHIP ADMITTED IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE PAINT BUT THEY REFUSED TO COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY.
DRIVING DOWN A COUNTRY ROAD THE POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE GOING AROUND A CORNER AT 40MPH AND CAME BACK ALMOST CAUSING TOTAL LOSS OF CONTROL.
VACUUM PUMP FAILED RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE
I AM HAVING BRAKE ASSIST FAILURE AT ALL SPEEDS. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP WITHOUT APPLYING FULL FORCE. THE ABS 'CLICKING' CAN BE HEARD AND FELT WHILE TRYING TO APPLY BRAKES. THIS SYSTEM FAILED GOING DOWN A MOUNTAIN PASS WITH A CAMPER BEHIND US AND CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. THE 'SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST' LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED.

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER FIVE MINUTES AND WAS DRIVEN TO STYKEMAIN CHEVROLET (1255 N WILLIAMS ST, PAULDING, OH 45879, (419) 399-2071). THE DEALER COULD NOT LOCATE A FAILURE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
VEHICLE WAS STATINONARY, AND WAS HIT FROM THE REAR AND PUSHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE ON A HIGHWAY. I HAVE DAMAGE TO REAREND, DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT END. AFTER THE ACCIDENT I RECIEVED AN EMAIL THAT THERE WAS A CRITICAL ISSUE WITH AIRBAGS, MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONTACTED GM ABOUT ISSUE WAS TRANSFERRED TO ESIS/CENTRAL CLAIMS FOR GM, THEY SENT OUT AND INSPECTOR TO PULL CRASH DATA, I WAS GIVEN COPY OF CRASH DATA, AND CRASH DATA STATED AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WHEN THEY DID NOT, IT ALSO SHOWED A CODE B0052-00 WHICH IS AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CODE. AFTER WEEKS OF BACK AND FORTH MY CLAIM WAS DENIED FOR PRODUCT DEFECT ON 06/12/18,

SEAT BELT BUCKLE BROKE AFTER TWO YEARS. WHAT OCCURRED: TRIED TO BUCKLE THE BELT AND IT DID NOT WORK. HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. INNER PLASTIC PIECE BROKE. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY BUT ONLY AFTER INSISTING THIS SHOULD BE A WARRANTY REPAIR. NOTED CONCERN THAT A SAFETY PART HAPPENED TO BECOME DEFECTIVE AFTER SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (2 YEARS).
