THE BRAKES FAIL(PERIODICALLY) AT LOW RPM DUE TO VACUUM BOOSTER PUMP FAILURE. TYPICALLY HAPPENS WHEN MOVING SLOWLY AT IDLE - ROLLING DOWN A DRIVEWAY ETC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE LOW BEAM HEAD LAMPS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE BRIGHTLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT ALMOST DROVE INTO THE ROAD DIVIDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (FAULKNER CADILLAC/CHEVROLET IN BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA, 610-867-4177) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DESIGNED TO ILLUMINATE THAT WAY AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,100.
TIRE TREAD IS DELAMINATING. HAVE SEEN EARLY RECALL FOR SAME TIRE BUT NOT COVERING MANUFACTURING TIME FRAME FOR MY TIRES. THEY ARE CONTINENTAL CROSS CONTACT LX20 MANUFACTURED (2516). ORIGINAL RECALL DATE 10/5/16 COVERING MANUFACTURING PERIOD 5/3/15 THRU 5/9/15. RECALL LISTED DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING TO TIRES ON MY TRUCK.
I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES BECAUSE MY AIRBAG LIGHT KEPT TURNING ON. SUPPOSEDLY IT WAS FIXED BUT NOW THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AGAIN AND I HAVE A MESSAGE ON MY SCREEN THAT SAYS" SERVICE AIR BAG"! IT IS FRUSTRATING TO HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH MONEY FOR A NEW VEHICLE AND TO HAVE SUCH PROBLEMS AT SUCH AN EARLY STAGE OF THE VEHICLES REGULAR MAINTENANCE.
AT TIMES WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE JUMPS FORWARD BEFORE STOPPING. WHEN MAKING SLOW TURNS, LIKE IN A PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE WILL JUMP FORWARD OR LAG SOMETIME WHEN SHIFTING GEARS.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN THE MORNING WITH NO OTHER TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD AND RANDOMLY THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW BLEW OUT. IT WAS WINTER AND THE REAR DEFROSTER WAS ON AT THE TIME. I SMELLED BURNING WIRES AND SHUT EVERYTHING OFF BUT MY HEADLIGHTS AND HEARD A LOUD POP WHEN THE WINDOW BLEW OUT. THIS HAPPENED AT 4AM WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE STABILITRAK HAS BEEN GOING OFF AT RANDOM TIMES, SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW. TWICE, OVER THE SPAN OF TWO DAYS, THE STABILITRAK HAS GONE OFF WHILE IN MOTION, PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT ON DRY GROUND. IT HAS ALSO GONE OFF ABOUT 4 TIMES BACK-TO-BACK WHILE AT SLOW SPEEDS ON AN ON RAMP. THE MAIN DISPLAY HAS ALSO BEEN RANDOMLY SHUTTING OFF (SCREEN GOES BLACK) WITHOUT WARNING OR OBVIOUS REASON.
I WAS DRIVEING THE VEHICAL PULLING A BOAT ON A TRAILER COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN, I THEN WENT TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND THE PEDAL WAS HARD AND THE TRUCK WOULDNT STOP. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND IF MY WIFE HAD BEEN DRIVING IM NOT SURE SHE WOULD HAVE HAD THE STREGTH TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND STOP THE TRUCK. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE VACUMM PUMP HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACE ALONG WITH THE VACUMM HOSES AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE DEALER WANTED 1400.00 TO REPLACE THESE COMPONENTS ON A TWO YEAR OLD TRUCK. I REPLACED ALL THE COMPONENTS WITH FACTORY PARTS.
DRIVING AT 35MPH , SUDDENLY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, UPON GIVING GAS WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED, ONLY RPM KEPT GOING HIGH, THE YELLOW CHECK INGINE SYMBOL CAME ON.TOWED TO A DELAERSHIP,CASING BROKEN BETWEEN 4TH,5TH,6TH GEAR BROKEN.
I OWEN CHEVY 1500 2016. I RECEIVED RECALL ON THE TRUCK WHEN SAW IT I WAS SURPRISED DO TOO I GOT TO TWO CAR ACCIDENT BEFORE I RECEIVE THE RECALL. AFTER CONTACTING GM MOTOR THEY SAID THE IS THE SOFTWARE NEED UPDATE HOWEVER IT DIDN'T END THERE STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES AND GM DENIED ANY INVOLVEMENT OF THE TWO ACCIDENT.
THIS FOR 2016 CHEVROLET SIVERADO LTZ D/C 5.3L 4X4 T/A1500 MODEL CK15543 PURCHASE DATE: 05/26/16 AS OF THE LAST PAST YEAR I'VE EXPERIENCE STEERING CONTROL FAILURE, STABILITY CONTROL FAILURE AND BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. THE TRUCK CAN NOT BE DRIVEN SAFELY. VISIT DEALER ABOUT 10 TIMES AND THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE OF HOW TO FIX THIS SAFETY PROBLEMS. THIS VEHICLE IS LISTED UNDER RECALL BY GM AND DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX.
FROM SPEEDS OF 60 TO 80 MILE PER HOUR THERE IS AN INCONSISTENT VIBRATION OR SHAKE FELT IN THE WHOLE TRUCK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,999.
MY TRUCK HAS A DEFECTIVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM THAT IS KNOWN TO BE DEFECTED AS THE SAME SYSTEM WAS RECALLED FOR ALL OTHER MODELS EQUIPPED WITH UT BUT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS A SPECIAL VERSION THE COMPANY EXPECTS ME THE CUSTOMER TO PAY FOR THIS 4 FIGURE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET KNOWING THE SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE THE STEERING JUST QUIT OUT OF NOWHERE FOR NO APPARENT REASON IT WORKED FINE THEN WENT TO DRIVE IT AND IT DIDN'T HAVE POWER STEERING IT WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME I GOT IN TO GO TO THE STORE AND STEERING WAS GONE

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V651000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
MY COMPLAINT IS VIBRATION OR A SHAKE. IT'S MOSTLY OCCURS OR WHEN I EXPERIENCE IT IS WHEN I'M AT A IDLE. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NORMAL. I SPOKE WITH SEVERAL MECHANICS AND A FEW MENTIONED THAT IT COULD BE THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR FILTER THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BUT SINCE THEIR IS NOT A LIGHT POPPING UP FOR A CODE,THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I'VE NEVER FELT THIS IN OTHER CHEVY OR GMC TRUCKS THAT I HAVE DRIVEN. WHY IS CHEVROLET IGNORING THIS ISSUE. TO JUST TELL AN OWNER OF A CHEVY TRUCK, OH IT'S THE "CHEVY SHAKE" AND BRUSH IT OFF IS NOT OK.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the instrument panel display experienced intermittent malfunctions, causing the display screen to blink off and on, and the display screen lighting to increase to the extreme brightness level. During the failure the speedometer was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure and no repairs were performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 33,000.
This vehicle has experienced repeated and ongoing serious defects with the 8L90 Transmission Torque Converter. I took delivery of this vehicle on 17SEP2016 and since it has required multiple service appointments to address the issue. To date it has not been satisfactorily repaired. Despite repeated failed repair attempts the vehicle exhibits erratic transmission slipping, jerking, hesitation and surging under acceleration. These symptoms persist even after a most recent torque converter replacement (and subsequent re-replacement as outlined below). This creates a serious safety concern particularly when accelerating into traffic, merging and driving uphill, but also in low speed maneuvers such as navigating a parking lot. The vehicle often feels like it is misfiring under acceleration when trying to merge, then surges forward erratically. In parking lots at low speeds, the downshift of this transmission is so abrupt that it often causes the driver and passengers alike to believe that the vehicle has been hit from behind. The repair history started within 2 years/24K miles as follows: - 01FEB2018 @ 28140 - Drain flush and fill transmission for Shudder/Hard Down Shift - Diagnosed as Torque converter issue. This helped for a short period of time - 26JUN2019 @ 53445 Miles - Same issue - same diagnosis - same repair attempt - this was unsuccessful in anyway. - 12NOV2019 @ 60653 Miles - Same issue and diagnosis - Torque converter replaced - 31JUL2024 @134218 Miles - Same issue and diagnosis - Flush and fill recommended since extended warranty had expired - paid $300 for transmission fluid flush and fill - 15APR2025@145963 Miles - Same issue and diagnosis - Torque converter replaced for $2956 - there was no appreciable improvement - 08AUG2025@151182 Miles - Torque Converter replaced under warranty from 15APR2025 work - No appreciable improvement - 20AUG2025@151500 Miles - Same issue - Advised to replace entire transmission
PURCHASED BRAND NEW CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 IN 2016, NOTICED SIGNIFICANT SHAKING OF VEHICLE 11 MONTHS INTO OWNING. THIS VEHICLE IS SOLELY USED FOR A DAILY TO AND FROM OFFICE JOB COMMUTE, CONSUMING APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES A DAY, MOSTLY HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE UPON REACHING 70 MPH SHAKES TERRIBLY, ENOUGH TO SHAKE MY COFFE OUT OF THE CUP. AT THE SAME TIME I ALSO BEGAN TO NOTICE THE QUICK WEARING AND FEATHERING/WARPING OF MY TIRES ON THE INSIDE TREAD AREA. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED NEW TIRES, MIND YOU AT UNDER 19,000 MILES AND THE SHAKING "SHOULD" STOP. HAD THE TIRES REPLACED ALONG WITH AN ALIGNMENT AND THE ISSUE STILL REMAINS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CONSISTENT WITH GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. SPOKE WITH SEVERAL SILVERADO OWNERS WHOM HAVE THE ISSUES, SOME EARLIER IN OWNERSHIP WHILE OTHERS SOMETIME LATER. APPARENTLY THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GIVEN A NAME "CHEVY SHAKES". SEARCHED ON LINE FOR THIS ISSUE AND SURPRISINGLY THE PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED/DISCUSSED. I'M GETTING THE PERCEPTION THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM AND CHEVY IS DOING THEIR BEST TO COVER IT UP. FILING THIS COMPLAINT TO GO ALONG WITH THE OTHERS. HOPEFULLY THIS PROBLEM IS ADDRESSED WITH A PREVENTIVE MINDSET RATHER THAN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. IT'S TIME FOR A RECALL!

The contact stated while driving 40 MPH and depressing the brake pedal while making a right turn, the steering wheel independently turned to the left. The contact stated the stabili-trak warning light was illuminated intermittently. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer but was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact continued to experience the failure. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V761000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Electronic Stability Control) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
I'M HAVING BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE AT SLOW SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PETAL IS SUPER HARD TO PUSH DOWN AND IT ALMOST ISN'T ENOUGH TO MAKE THE TRUCK STOP ROLLING AT SLOW SPEEDS. TRUCK HAS RIGHT AT 43,XXX MILES ON IT AND IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY.
WHEN DRIVING SLOW THE BRAKE BOOSTER DOESNT SEEM TO WORK, UNLESS YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. WHEN REVERSING SLOWLY BRAKES GO OUT. WHEN STUCK IN TRAFFIC BUMPER TO BUMPER AND DRIVING SLOW THE BRAKES SEEM TO NOT WORK UNLESS YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN DECEMBER 2017 AND ITS STARTING TO HAPPEN AGAIN.

TAKATA RECALL - THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOIBG ON SINCE 2016 AND THERE STILL ISNT A SOLUTION. MY AIR BAG SENSOR GOES ON FROM TIME TO TIME AND IT REALLY STRESSESME OUT NOT KNOWING IF SOMETHING IS GOING TO GO WRONG. MY 18 MONTH OLD WAS IN THE THE VEHICLE WITH ME SMOKES UP THE INTERIOR WITH ELECTRICAL SMOKE. A MONTH AFTER SHORTED OUT FUEL INJECTOR. RADIO WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TO. HAVE VIDEO TO BACK UP. GM FLIES OUT SOME ENGINEERS TO LOOK AT TRUCK INSTEAD OF LOOKING AT THE WHOLE PICTURE THESE DUMB [XXX] ARE LOOKING AT THE RADIO!!!. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE FRONT DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SCHUMACHER CHEVROLET OF DENVILLE (281 US-46, DENVILLE, NJ 07834) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL THE CHARGES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTINENTAL MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-847-3349 AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL, AND THAT THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

THE CONTACT HAD BOTH REARVIEW MIRRORS AND THE BACK UP CAMERA REPLACED, AND AN UNKNOWN SENSOR AND THE VACUUM BAG WERE REPROGRAMMED TWICE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,967.
THE LED HEADLIGHTS FAIL TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD FOR AN ACCEPTABLE DISTANCE. THE LIGHT ONLY PROJECTS HIGH ENOUGH AND LONG ENOUGH TO LIGHT THE ROAD FOR A SHORT DISTANCE.
WHEN DRIVING TRUCK ESPECIALLY WHILE COLD SHIFTING EXTREMELY HARD AND ALSO MAKING A CLUNK WHEN COMINT TO A STOP LIKE THE U-JOINT IS BAD OR SLACK IN THE REAR END TOOK TRUCK TO CHEVROLET AT LEAST 6 TIMES THEY CALIBRATED THE GEARS REPLACED THE CONTROL MODULE AND THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO DO THE SAME THING I FINALLY GOT FED UP WITH IT AND TRADED IT IN ON A 2017 NOW I AM ALREADY HEARING AND FEELING THE CLUNK WHEN I STOP THIS WILL BE MY LAST CHEVROLET!!!!!!!
TRANSMISSION SHUDDER OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN SEPTEMBER 2017. GM TECHNICIANS SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND IT. SHUDDER SPREAD TO ALL SPEEDS - ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS GOING UPHILL. TRUCK WOULD LURCH FORWARD FROM GEAR TO GEAR AND GENERALLY RUN WITH A CONSTANT VIBRATION. IN DECEMBER 2017 GM TECHNICIAN REPLICATED THE PROBLEM AND DIAGNOSED IT AS A MALFUNCTIONING TORQUE CONVERTER. OUR CHEVROLET SIVERADO 1500 2017 HAD A BLOW OUT ON THE FREEWAY IN TRACY, CA (HWY 205) WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM ROSEVILLE, CA. WE CALLED OUR INSURANCE ROADSIDE EMERGENCY AND THE SERVICE PERSON TOLD US THE BLOWOUT LOOKS BAD AND THAT WE WERE VERY LUCKY.

THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE CONTACT'S RENTAL PROPERTY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.
AT 4200 MILES THE FRONT RIGHT DISC BRAKE WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT LEFT SHOWED NORMAL WEAR AND THAT IT STILL HAVE MORE THAN 50% LEFT ON THE PAD. THE RIGHT FRONT CALIPER WAS NOT RETRACTING AND CAUSED THE BRAKE TO RUN COMPRESSED FOR A LONG TIME HENCE CAUSING UNREPAIRABLE DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR. THE DEALER SERVICE DID NOT INFORM ME OF THE DEFECTIVE CALIPER, ONLY THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ROTOR AND BRAKES, NEVER MENTIONED THAT THE LEFT SIDE WAS NORMAL. IS THERE A RECALL FOR BRAKE CALIPERS ON THIS VEHICLE??

TWO DEALERS WERE CONTACTED: BRAD DEERY AUTO GROUP (844-877-2770, LOCATED AT 112 N 2ND ST, MAQUOKETA, IA 52060) AND AN UNKNOWN DEALER WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V084000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR AND THE RADIO FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
STARTING VEHICLE UP AT MY HOME. SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT IDLED ROUGHLY. I TOOK IT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND COOLANT GETTING INTO A CYLINDER. THEY HAVE TO ORDER A NEW CYLINDER HEAD. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 18 MONTHS OLD WITH 15600 MILES ON IT.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,367.
THE BRAKES BECOME HARD AND RESIST DEPRESSION, OR REQUIRE AN INCREASED EFFORT TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT WITH NO STOPPING ABILITY, IF YOU TAP OR PRESS THE BREAK. EXAMPLE IN TRAFFIC OR REVERSING OUT THE DRIVEWAY.THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN AT 20 MPH OR LESS. I DID HAVE AN ISSUE THE OTHER DAY WHEN I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES, PRESSING THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY WHICH HARD TO DO AND MADE ALL KINDS OF NOISES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2017.
EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY TRUCK IN EARLY 2017, THE 8 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AT LOW SPEEDS HAS BEEN EXTREMELY HARD. IT CHANGES SO HARD, IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE STRUCK MY TRUCK FROM BEHIND, AND SHAKES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. THIS HARD SHIFT WILL TAKE PLACE ON AN UPSHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT. ON THE DOWNSHIFT, MY TRUCK WILL LERCH FORWARD, CONCERNING ME THAT I MAY STRIKE ANOTHER VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THE PROBLEM ON AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE LAST OCCASION, THE CHIEF MECHANIC CALLED ME AND SAID IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM, AND CHEVROLET HAS NO INTENTION OF FIXING IT. HE EXPLAINED IT INVOLVED THE TORQUE CONVERTER, AND CHEVROLET HAS MOVED ON FROM THAT TRANSMISSION. HE ALSO STATED THAT MY TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE DAMAGED FROM THE SHIFT. ONE SERVICE REP. STATED TO ME THAT MY WARRANTY IS GOOD FOR 100,000 MILES, SO DON'T WORRY. HOW CAN I DRIVE A VEHICLE, WHEN PASSENGERS BECOME FRIGHTENED FROM THE HARD SHIFT. MOST RECENTLY IT HAS STARTED TO SHUDDER THROUGH THE FIRST FEW GEARS AND IS EXTREMELY BOTHERSOME TO DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS MADE IT CLEAR THAT CHEVROLET HAS NO INTENTION ON FIXING THE "KNOWN" PROBLEM, WHICH IS DANGEROUS. I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS UPON REQUEST.
THE TRUCK WOULD GO OUT ALIGNMENT WITH NORMAL DRIVING AND THEY REPLACE THE WHEEL BEARING ONCE AND BAD ALREADY. IT BEEN ONLY TWO MONTH SINCE THEY REPLACE THE BEARING.
HEADREST INTERFERES CAUSES MY HEAD TO BE PUSHED FORWARD LIMITING MY VISION OF THE ROAD. THIS IS DISTRACTING DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE CAUSING ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE IN A SAFE MANNER. AS I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS DURING PURCHASE, THE SALESPERSON SUGGESTED THAT THE HEADREST COULD BE TURNED BACKWARDS, AS DONE BY OTHER OWNERS. AS HE TRIED THIS TWO ITEMS WERE APPARENT, FIRST WAS NO SUPPORT FOR MY HEAD DURING A REAR END CRASH, AND SECOND THERE WAS NO POSITION HOLDS FOR RAISING OR LOWERING THE HEADREST. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO WORK WITH GM FOR A HEADREST PROPERLY DESIGNED TO SUPPORT MY HEAD AND BE COMFORTABLE DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. THEY HAVE STATED THE HEADREST IS WORKING ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS DESIGN, AND SAID I NEED TO READJUST THE SEAT. TO READJUST THE SEAT MEANS TO LEAN IT BACKWARD. THIS ACTION PUTS ME AT RISK FOR A FRONTAL CRASH BECAUSE NOW THE SEAT-BELT AND AIR BAG BECOME INEFFECTIVE ALLOWING ME TO SLIDE OUT UNDERNEATH BOTH. LEANING BACK IS NOT A COMFORTABLE POSITION FOR ME TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE. AGAIN WE GET INTO THE DISTRACTED DRIVING SCENARIO. ONE GM PERSON SUGGESTED I PURCHASE AN AFTERMARKET HEADREST, BUT WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT APPROVED AFTERMARKET HEADRESTS. I ASKED HIM ALSO ABOUT WHO WOULD BE HAVING THE LIABILITY IN CASE OF A CRASH. HE REFUSED TO ANSWER. ONE GM PERSON ALSO COMMENTED THAT THIS COMPLAINT WAS FIRST DOCUMENTED DURING THE 2010 YEAR MODEL LIGHT TRUCKS. I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING INVOLVED WITH AN INCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE HEADREST.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION THE STEERING WHEEL STOPPED TURNING AT ABOUT THE 10 O'CLOCK POSITION, JERKED HARD TO THE RIGHT OUT OF MY HANDS. I BRAKED AND TRIED TO TURN AGAIN, THE STEERING DID THIS REPEATLY FOR FIVE ATTEMPTS. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, WAITED ABOUT 10 SECONDS THEN RESTARTED THE TRUCK. THE STEERING THEN WORKED NORMALLY. MY WIFE AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF EPISODE 5 TIMES BETWEEN US. THIS TRUCK DOES HAVE THE LANE MONITORING SYSTEM AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE GENTLE TUG OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND VIBRATION IN THE SEAT. THIS IS NOT LIKE THAT. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT VERY LOW SPEED WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STOPPED POSITION AND IT HAS HAPPENED AT VERY LOW CONTINUOUS SPEED SUCH AS ENTERING A DRIVEWAY. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED WHEN TURNING RIGHT. SOMETIMES IT CORRECTS ITSELF, SOMETIME YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND REBOOT IT. I HAVE GIVEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR EVALUATION. THEIR INITIAL REACTION WAS THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. FORTUNATELY NO DAMAGE TO OURSELVES OR OTHERS, BUT THE POTENTIAL IS THERE. THAT IS WHY I FELT I SHOULD REPORT THIS.
WE ARE AN AUTOMOBILE SERVICE CENTER. OUR CUSTOMER DROPPED THEIR VEHICLE OFF ON A PARTICULARLY RAINY DAY. THE INSIDE OF THE GLASS WAS COVERED WITH THICK CONDENSATION EVEN THOUGH THE DEFROSTER MODE WITH A/C ON WAS SELECTED. ON HIGH SPEED, THERE WAS VERY LITTLE AIRFLOW FROM THE VENTS. UPON LOWERING THE DRIVER'S WINDOW, THE FAN SPEED, NOISE AND FLOW ALL INCREASED DRAMATICALLY. AN INSPECTION BEHIND THE SEATS REVEALED SOME ITEMS BUT NOT ENOUGH TO COVER THE ENTIRE REAR OF THE CAB. EXTERNAL INSPECTION FOUND AN OUTLET VENT BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT. BACK INSIDE THE TRUCK THERE WAS NO INSIDE OR INLET VENT TO BE FOUND. REMOVAL OF THE CARPETING ON THE REAR WALL OF THE CAB REVEALED A HEAVY, RUBBER BACKED INSULATING MATERIAL THAT EFFECTIVELY SEALED OFF THE VENT. REMOVAL OF A SMALL PORTION OF THE INSULATING MATERIAL AND THE CARPETING IMPROVED AIRFLOW IMMEDIATELY AND EFFECTIVELY DEFROSTED THE GLASS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHILE WE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. IT IS OUR OPINION THAT THIS DEFECT IS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS TO DRIVERS BOTH FROM A VISIBILITY STAND POINT AND THE POSSIBILITY OF INCREASED CARBON MONOXIDE LEVELS DUE TO IMPROPER CAB VENTILATION.
I HAVE A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. ONCE YOU GET TO 70-80 MILES PER HOUR IT SHAKES PRETTY BAD. I NOTICED OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED SAME THINGS. THEY EVEN NAMED IT THE "CHEVY SHAKE". I JUST WANTED TO FILE A COMPLAINT SO IT COULD BE ADDED TO THE LIST OF OTHERS
TRANSMISSION WILL MAKE A HARD SHIFT SOMETIMES, MOSTLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND LIGHT TROTTLE. FEELS LIKE YOU JUST HIT A LARGE POTHOLE.
TRUCK HAS AN INSTANT VIBRATION AT SPEEDS 45 MPH AND ABOVE. SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR BUT THE TRUCK HAS HAD IT SINCE DAY ONE. WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 14 MILES ON IT.
