While driving down the road, my Transmission stopped working. I was on the highway while coming up to speed, my truck would not pick up speed and would not shift into gear. I had the vehicle towed to a nearby automotive shop, where they said there was internal damage to my transmission and recommended a new transmission or a rebuild. There was no warning or any warnings that the transmission was going to fail. It just stopped being operational. My vehicle only has 67k miles on it.
WHEN DRIVING MY 2017 CHEVY SILVERADO MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP WHEN TURNING BRINGING MY TRUCK TO AN ABRUPT STOP, WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS ALL THE ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTS ON THE INSIDE OF THE TRUCK SHUT OFF AND ON AND MY STABILITRAK MESSAGE POPS ON MY SCREEN FOLLOWED BY SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE. IT STARTED HAPPENING JUST HERE AND THERE ABOUT A MONTH AGO BUT NOW IT IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN GAS IS PASS HALF A TANK. I'M REALLY NERVOUS TO DRIVE MY TRUCK THIS IS GETTING DANGEROUS! GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP ASAP.
MY TRUCK SHIFTS SO HARD IT WAKES UP MY BABY IN THE BACK SEAT AND WHEN U ARE REALLY GOING SLOW IT CLUNKS HARD AND EVERY CHEVY DEALER SAYS IT'S NORMAL IT'S NOT NORMAL WHEN IT'S HITTING THAT HARD IT'S WAKING MY BABY. MY TRUCK HAS ALSO BEEN TO THE DEALER 10 PLUS TIMES ALREADY AND ONLY OWNED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING BETWEEN GEARS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILITY TRACK WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO QUIRK CHEVROLET OF BANGOR (293 HOGAN RD, BANGOR, ME 04401, (207) 945-9401) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE BRAKE CONTROL MODULE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED OF A POSSIBLE PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,760.
Lost all communication to transmission control module, electronic brake control module, trailer brake control module, broken can bus wiring, lost windows, can NOT DRIVE!
I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC GOING 5MPH OR LESS. BRAKES KEPT SLIPPING AND HAD TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKES TO MAKE MY TRUCK STOP ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME MULTIPLE TIMES. BRAKE ASSIST KEPT POPPING UP ON THE DASH. PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS AT LOW SPEEDS.
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an unknown speed, the airbag warning light illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed however, the contact was unsure of the part that needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the same failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
In my truck it goes from V8 to V4 and I want it to stay in V8 all the time. Also, I have 5.3 engine, and cuz it goes into V4, that means that the back 2 lifters isn't getting enough oil, which can cause those lifters to lock up. I think those trucks that have that issue need to be recalled, cuz if the lifters lock up it can cause the engine to lock up and cause the truck to have an accident and possibly hurt a lot of people. Also, yes there are tuners you can buy to stop the V4 part, but who knows what they can mess up in the computer part.
WHILE IN THE DRIVE THROUGH, MY BRAKES FADED AND MY TRUCK WOULD BARLEY STOP. THE PEDAL FELT DIFFERENT. I ALMOST REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. MY SERVICE "BRAKE ASSIST" WARNING CAME ON. FROM WHAT I READ, IT APPEARS TO VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT OTHER TRUCKS MY YEAR ARE EXPERIENCING BUT MINE WASN'T COVERED BY ANY RECALLS??
AT SLOW SPEEDS, TYPICALLY IN PARKING LOTS OR RESTAURANT DRIVE THRU TRAVELING AT LESS THAN 5 MPH THE BREAKING SYSTEM FAILS AND I HAVE NO BRAKES. THIS HAS OFFERED 3 TIMES. MY TRUCK HAS 38000 MILES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON MAKING A SHARP TURN TO THE LEFT OR TO THE RIGHT, THE VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY SHUT-OFF WITH SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ONCE THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WAS EITHER SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK IN ORDER TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DURING ONE OF THE FAILURES, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED MIKE BELL CHEVROLET (1200 N PARK ST, CARROLLTON, GA 30117) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 45,000.

THE ELECTRICAL WIRES IN MY BACK WINDOW GOT SO HOT IT SHATTERED MY BACK WINDOW. COULD SMELL ELECTRICAL SMOKE POST INCIDENT. REAR DEFROST WAS IN USE. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON EXACT SAME TRUCK MODEL AND YEAR IN CANADA BUT CURRENTLY NOT IN THE US. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED.
DRIVING LONG DISTANCES CAUSED BALL JOINTS AND A ARMS TO BREAK. FIRST TRIP WAS RIGHT FRONT A ARM AND BALL JOINT SECOND WAS LEFT FRONT BOTH WERE REPLACED AND A YEAR LATER LEFT FRONT WENT OUT AGAIN THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. NEW TI TIRED WERE WORN OUT ON ONE TRIP.
TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING ACCELERATING UPHILL. ACCELERATOR DIFFICULT TO PRESS WHEN ACCELERATING AND MOST TIMES HAVE TO DOWNSHIFT TWO GEARS TO GET UP TO THE DESIRED SPEED AND ELIMINATE SAID SHUTTER
THE VEHICLE THROWS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RANDOMLY (AVG ONCE EVERY 2 MONTHS). IT OCCURS AROUND 65 MPH (INTERSTATE) WHICH, LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT IS A MISFIRE ON ONE OF THE CYLINDERS. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND A DIAGNOSTIC COMPLETE. SPARK PLUGS WERE CHANGED AND THEY SAID IT FIXED THE ISSUE; YET IT HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE. I NOTICE NO POWER LOSS WHEN IT COMES ON (BLINKS). THIS LIGHT BLINKS ROUGHLY 30-45 SECONDS AND GOES OFF.
Loss of power and misfire. I was on I44 in Oklahoma with my 1 year old and couldn’t go over 45 MPH. The mechanic said it was a lifter failure and it ruined cam shaft. In all the total repairs were $3800.00. I’m just learning about this common problem and seen there was a class action lawsuit filed.
REAR GLASS SHATTERED WITH DEFROST ON. PRIOR TO SHATTERING I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. I WAS PARKED IN A FAST FOOD DRIVE THROUGH WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I HAD PREVIOUSLY USED THE REMOTE START TO START THE CAR.
VEHICLE HAS A TICKING NOISE AND UNDER POWERED. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER. VALVE COVERS REMOVED AND VALVES ARE NOT OPENING COMPLETELY. CAM LOBE IS WORN. REMOVED BOTH CYLINDER HEADS, OIL PAN AND TIMING COVER. REPLACED CAM SHAFT AND ALL 16 LIFTERS, REPLACED THE VLOM.
WHILE DRIVING INTO MY DRIVEWAY TURNING RIGHT ALL POWER COMPLETELY QUIT, I WAS STUCK WITH PART OF MY TRUCK IN THE ROAD WITH NO LIGHTS NOTHING, VERY SCARY CARS COMING MY WAY COULDN'T SEE ME AND WERE HONKING WHEN THEY DID. SPEED LIMIT ON ROAD IS 45MPH AND MANY CAME VERY CLOSE TO HITTING ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES NOW. FIRST TIME MY POWER CAME BACK ON AND I STARTED BACK UP. THIS TIME I CALLED WRECKER AND BY THE TIME HE ARRIVED I HAD GOTTEN HELP TO PUSH ME OFF THE ROAD. FOR SOME ODD REASON THE TRUCK RESUMED POWER AGAIN AND IS IN MY DRIVEWAY. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY WHICH I HAD BEEN ON THAT NIGHT I MIGHT NOT BE WRITING THIS CONCERN TO YOU TODAY. I HAVE SOME SIMILAR STORIES REGARDING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS YET NO RECALLS. Brakes give out at slow speeds such as parking Lots are traffic. The truck started giving me problems one day in a parking lot the breaks went straight to the floor and the truck shook and it was weird and the truck barley stopped and I put it in park. I started to drive again and at fast speeds the brakes seemed fine .. but then it’s happened multiple times for me now in traffic and in parking lots and it’s not safe at all I’ve bought new rotors all new brakes pads and even changed the brake booster and main cylinder all through Midas and it still has done it to me again.
WHILE MAKING LOW SPEED TURNS THE POWER ASSIST FAILS, MOMENTARILY RESULTING IN EXTREME DIFFICULTY TURNING/MANEUVERING. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF ROAD SURFACE IS BEING DRIVEN ON (PAVED, UNPAVED) AND DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME RESULTING IN SITUATIONS WHERE I HAVE MOMENTARY LOSS OF CONTROL.
MY 2017 (1500) SILVERADO LTZ RUNS ROUGH WHEN EVER THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION. IT EVEN RUN ROUGH WHEN IT'S PARKED AND NOT MOVING. THE SHIFTING IS ROUGH AS WELL. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN I'M AT A RED LIGHT, A STOP SIGN OR JUST AT A COMPLETE STOP, I HAVE TO TAKE OFF FAST BECAUSE IF I TAKE OFF SLOWLY, MY TRUCK WILL JERK INCREDIBLY HARD. I TURNED ON MY TRUCK ONE MORNING AND IT JUST WAS SHAKING SO BAD AND OUT OF CONTROL. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS DONE AND I HAVE 3 BAD FUEL INJECTORS. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ABOUT $1400 FOR THE REPAIRS, NOT HAPPENING. GM HAS ISSUED FREE REPAIRS FOR THESE INJECTORS SINCE THEY'RE A COMMON PROBLEM WITHIN THESE TRUCKS BUT THEY'RE ONLY ALLOWING THE FREE REPAIRS DONE IN 13 STATES AND MY STATE, (IDAHO) IS NOT ONE OF THEM. IT'S A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH ONLY 43,000 MILES ON IT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE A REPAIR THAT'S OVER $1,000 DOLLARS. THAT DOESN'T SIT RIGHT WITH ME AND IT WOULDN'T SIT RIGHT WITH YOU IF YOU WERE IN MY SHOES. IM AFRAID I'LL BE STRANDED OUT ON THE ROAD WITH A FAIRLY PERFECTLY NEW, LOW MILEAGE TRUCK. THIS IS NOT A OWNERS PROBLEM, IT'S A GM PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THEM, NOT BY THE OWNERS.
WHILE GOING THROUGH A DRIVE THROUGH RESTAURANT, AFTER I ORDERED MY FOOD AND LET MY FOOT OFF MY BRAKE TO ADVANCE FORWARD AND STOP AT THE WINDOW TO PAY ABOUT 20-30 FEET AHEAD, I COULD NOT BRAKE IN TIME TO STOP AT THE WINDOW. MY BRAKE PEDAL WAS VERY HARD TO PUSH AND EVEN THOUGH I WAS PUSHING VERY HARD IT BARELY STOPPED, EVEN THOUGH I WAS GOING LESS THAN ONE MPH. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AS NONE OF MY WARNING LIGHTS WERE NOTING ERRORS AND IT HAPPENED OUT OF THE BLUE. I ONLY LIVE TWO MILES AWAY SO I DROVE HOME VERY SLOW AND I DIDN'T NOTICE THE SAME ISSUE ON THE DRIVE HOME. HOWEVER, WHEN I PULLED MY TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE, IT STARTED TO HAPPEN AGAIN AND I COULD HEAR THE BREAKS DOING SOMETHING WEIRD. I'M TAKING IT TO THE SHOP TODAY TO GET FIXED TOMORROW WHEN THE SHOP OPENS. I DID RECEIVE TWO WARNING MESSAGES VIA TEXT WHEN I GOT HOME. DIAGNOSTIC ALERT: SERVICE THE STABILITRAK STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM IN YOUR 2017 SILVERADO WITHIN 7 DAYS. TXT STOP TO CANCEL. DIAGNOSTIC ALERT: SERVICE THE ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM IN YOUR 2017 SILVERADO WITHIN 7 DAYS. TXT STOP TO CANCEL. MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE ARTICLES I READ ABOUT THIS ISSUE MAKE IT SOUND LIKE WARNING LIGHTS GO OFF TO LET YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG AND THE ARTICLES SAY IT'S OK TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE SAFETY FEATURES DISENGAGE, HOWEVER, MY FEATURES DID NOT DISENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING AND I'M GLAD A CAR OR PERSON WAS NOT IN FRONT OF ME AT THE TIME IT HAPPENED OR I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM. THE TRANSMISSION ON MY 2017 HAS GONE OUT. I AM HAVING TO HAVE IT REPLACED AND MY TRUCK IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. FROM WHAT I AM READ THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THE 2017 CHEVROLET'S. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION AND THE FACT THAT GM WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX THIS.
i keep getting the fuel injector codes and check engine light coming on in my truck. it does not say i am part of the recall but what gm describes in the recall happens to my atleast twice a week. my truck starts not being as usual and the check engine light comes on then i get the tested and now am getting the fuel injector codes at auto zone. i have to get them reset atleast once sometimes twice a week.
Transmission shift at stop sudden Sudden jerking and lunging forward.
WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS SUCH AS IN A DRIVE THRU OR PARKING LOT, THERE IS A PRESSURE LOSS IN THE BRAKES. THIS REQUIRES SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED BRAKING PRESSURE TO STOP. FAILURES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR VIBRATION IN THE PEDALS.
PURCHASED MY VEHICLE JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO AND HAD ZERO ISSUES, OTHER THAN PESKY AFM BULL. WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, TRANSMISSION BEGAN SHUDDERING AND JERKING AS IF SLIPPING GEARS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. SOON THEREAFTER, A WHINING NOISE STARTED THAT WAS MORE PREVALENT DURING GEAR CHANGE. SPOKE TO TECHNICIANS AT MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR MODEL AND TRANSMISSION. ACCORDING TO THIS SENIOR TECHNICIAN, THEY HAVE FOUND THAT A FLUID SWAP CAN CURE THESE ISSUES BECAUSE THE WHAT IS CALLED FOR FROM FACTORY JUST DOESN'T CUT THE MUSTARD. CHECKED THE SYSTEM, AND TO MY ASTONISHMENT, THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. TAKE MY TRUCK IN FOR SERVICES, HOPING ALL I WOULD NEED STILL IS THE FLUID SWAP, AND NOW THE TECHNICIANS ARE TELLING ME I NEED TO FORK OVER 5K FOR A NEW NEW TRANSMISSION BECAUSE MINE IS SHOT. EVEN MORE TO MY AMAZEMENT, I START LOOKING AROUND ON THIS SITE AND THERE HAVE BEEN A TON OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS SURROUNDING THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL TRANAMISSION, AND YET, GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT OR PREVENT THESE PROBLEMS FROM PERSISTING.
I RECEIVE MANY ERROR LIGHTS EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY 2017 SILVERADO. LIGHTS INCLUDE STABILITRACK AND TRACTION CONTROL DISABLED, TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEMS SERVICE, AND POWER STEERING DIMINISHED. THE SAFETY COMPLAINT IS DUE TO THE POWER STEERING ACTUALLY SHUTTING DOWN AND A SHARP LOSS IN ENGINE POWER AND HARD SHIFTING. ON MANY OCCASIONS I HAVE HAD TO LEAVE THE ROAD UNTIL THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. I HAVE GONE INTO QUIRK CHEVROLET ON MANY OCCASIONS BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. I HAVE RECENTLY CONTACTED CHEVROLET DIRECTLY AND THEY HAVE SET UP A CASE AND WILL KEEP OPEN UNTIL THIS IS FIXED.
TRANSMISSION SHUTTER. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TWICE AND REPLACED TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER FIRST TIME. NO CHANGE. THE SECOND TIME COULD NOT FIND ANY CODES BUT WOULD NOT MAKE ANY CORRECTIONS.
I NOTICED OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS, WHEN VEHICLE IS MOVING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS LESS THAN 10MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD TO PUSH DOWN AND VEHICLE KEEPS ROLLING BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS CAN BE REPLICATED EVERY TIME EVEN WHEN GOING IN REVERSE. AT SPEEDS ABOVE 10MPH, THE BRAKING SYSTEM WORKS JUST FINE. THIS HAS CAUSED A FEW NEAR MISSES WHERE I ALMOST BACKED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE PARKING IN REVERSE IN A LOT; ALMOST RAN INTO MY GARAGE DOOR; AND ALMOST CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AT THE LIGHT. IF YOU GO FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND JUST LIFT YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL WITHOUT APPLYING GAS AND VEHICLE STARTS ROLLING, THEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES, IT WILL KEEP ROLLING A FEW FEET BEFORE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND AS MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD TO PUSH DOWN AND ONLY GOES DOWN ABOUT A COUPLE INCHES. I AM SCHEDULED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE IN TO SERVICE THIS ISSUE AT THE DEALER.
The display on the radio touches itself. It will constantly change screens. It opens apps. It trys to make calls and send text. It is become a safety issue in the fact that it is constantly drawing my attention from the road. The center of the screen no longer is touchable, it doesn't recognize input. This is an issue alot of chevy customers are having.
WHEN PUSHING DOWN ON THE BREAK PEDAL IT'S NOT SLOWING DOWN AND STOPPING THE TRUCK IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT 5X
TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH NO WARNING WHEN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED TO THE LEFT, WHILE IN MOTION, WOULD STOP DURING THE TURN AND JERK BACK THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND POWER TO THE VEHICLE WOULD BE LOST FOR A SECOND THEN HAVE POWER RESTORED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS BACKING UP AND HAD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT TO AVOID HITTING AN OBJECT, AT THIS POINT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND JERKED BACK IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED, RADIO SCREEN WENT BLANK, AND THE CLIMATE CONTROL LIGHTS WENT OUT BUT ALL POWER CAME BACK ON AFTER A SECOND. THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME SIX TIMES WHILE TRYING TO BACK UP. I HAVE A VIDEO AFTER I BACKED UP AND PARKED AND THE ISSUE REPEATED ITSELF SO I COULD GET A VIDEO TO SHOW FOR A REPAIR. I WAS TURNING LEFT ONTO ANOTHER ROAD AND AFTER COMING TO A STOP TO LET A CAR GO BY I HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE AND THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE ENGINE CUT OUT, DOOR LOCKS CYCLED, AND LOST ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. WHEN I LOST POWER MY VEHICLE WAS HALF WAY INTO THE ON-COMING LANE OF THE ROAD I WAS TURNING OFF OF. VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER NOW AT AN ATTEMPT TO FIX THE ISSUE, THE DEALERSHIP HAS SEEN THE VIDEO I HAVE AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT FOUND ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRIC STEERING WHILE DOING TEST DRIVES. AS OF NOW I'M NOT AWARE OF THE ISSUES THAT WERE FOUND. MECHANIC TOLD SERVICE SUPERVISOR THAT THE ELECTRIC STEERING NEEDED TO BE UPDATED IN THE COMPUTER TO SMOOTH OUT THE ISSUES. SINCE THE ORIGINAL ISSUE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED, NOT SURE IF THIS WILL BE THE FIX. IF VIDEO EVIDENCE IS NEEDED PLEASE EMAIL ME AND I WILL SEND VIDEO.

I NOTICED A TICKING NOISE FROM MY ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHILE STATIONARY, AND BEGAN EXPERIENCING A VIBRATING BRAKE PEDAL/NOISE WHEN BRAKING AT LOW SPEED (IN DRIVEWAY OR PARKING LOT). I HAD A 'SERVICE- BRAKE ASSIST' MESSAGE SHOW ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. ON 11.3.2020, I EARLY STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT DUE TO A DRAMATIC INCREASE IN EFFORT TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. THESE SYMPTOMS CONTINUE AT THE MAJORITY OF MY LOW SPEED BRAKES, I HAVEN'T NOTICED IT WHILE ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAYS.
PRESSING THE BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS (DRIVE THRU, PARKING SPACES) SEEMS TO CAUSE A PRESSURE LOSS IN THE BRAKES. THIS CAUSES INCREASED BRAKING PRESSURE TO STOP. YOU CAN HEAR A TICK COMING FROM WHAT I ASSUME IS THE ABS CONTROLLER. THIS HAPPENS IN FORWARDS AND REVERSE.
MY 2017 SILVERADO HAD A RECALL FOR THE REAR DEFROSTER. THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED 6 MONTHS AGO. OVER THIS PAST WEEKEND, AN ELECTRICAL FIRE SMELL APPEARED IN THE VEHICLE, AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE REAR SLIDING WINDOW BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM BEHIND A PLASTIC PART. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE TRUCK OVER AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND EVACUATED MY FAMILY. THE SMOKE STOPPED AND I REMOVED THE FUSE AND RELAYS FOR REAR DEFROST TO PREVENT FUTURE FIRE. CLEARLY THE RECALL REPAIR DID NOT ACCOMPLISH FIXING THE SAFETY ISSUE.
TRUCK HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING, HARD SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 1ST ALMOST FEELS LIKE YOU'VE BEEN REAR-ENDED. TRUCK SHAKES AND JERKS WHEN SHIFTING GEARS, TRUCK VIBRATES AT LOW SPEEDS. BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE PROBLEM. TRUCK HAS 13,000 MILES CHEVY SHOULD MAN UP AND FIX THE PROBLEM. VERY DISAPPOINTED
WHEN GOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS, OVER 45 MPH, MY TRUCK HAS A RANDOM SHUDDER THAT FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS BUT I AM NOT. THIS ONLY HAPPENS OVER 40 MPH

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
VERY UPSET THE PAINT ON HOOD AND TOP COMING OFF . WENT BACK TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND COMPLAINED ABOUT IT BUT THEY ARE NOT DOING ANY THING ABOUT IT . I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THIS TRUCK AND ONLY HAS 23,000 MILES IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY ! CLEAR COAT COMING OFF, CORROSION COVERED !
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. COMES BACK IN WHEN TURN OF THE VEHICLE AND TURN IT BACK ON ALMOST THROUGH ME IN THE DITCH A NUMBER OF TIMES. JUST LOSSES ALL POWER STEERING ALL AT ONCE.
WHILE PARKING THE TRUCK I LOSS ALL BRAKE PRESSURE. THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKES TO GET THE TRUCK STOPPED. ONCE STOPPED AND PARKED I REPEATEDLY PUMPED THE PEDAL WITH NO CHANGES. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO FOUND NO ISSUES WITH THE FLUID OR SYSTEM IN GENERAL. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE WITH NO ISSUES FOR 10 MINUTES. HE CHECKED THE PADS AND CALIPERS FOR ANY ISSUES WITH NONE BEING FOUND. AFTER PUTTING THE WHEELS BACK ON THE TRUCK IT EXHIBITED A RECURRENCE OF LOSS OF BRAKE PRESSURE.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR-END COLLISION, WHERE I WAS SITTING STATIONARY. THE OTHER VEHICLE HIT ME GOING ESTIMATED SPEED OF 50 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, YET THE GAS FROM THE AIRBAGS FILLED THE VEHICLE AND SOME OF THE PLASTIC IN THE INTERIOR HAS BEEN BROKEN/DAMAGED. THE POLICE OFFICER ASKED ME IF I "VAPED", THAT IS HOW CLOUDY IT WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND SMELLED LIKE SULFUR. THIS HAS CAUSED GREAT CONCERN THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, YET THE GASES FROM THEM DID.

THE FACTORY EXTERIOR RADIO GPS ON STAR { SHARK FIN} ANTENNA RUBBER SEAL AND IMPROPERLY GM DESIGNED PART AND IMPROPERLY LOCATED WATER DRAIN HOLE ALLOWED WATER TO DRAIN INTO THE VEHICLES INTERIOR AND SHORT OUT THE RADIO, GPS AND ONSTAR FUNCTIONS,ON 9/17/2020 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS CHARGED 135.00 AND WAS TOLD THAT GM IS NOT GOING TO REPAIR THE PART AND SEAL WHICH COMES ON THE NEW PART TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE NEW REPLACEMENT PART HAS A NEW SEAL DESIGN AND RELOCATED WATER DRAIN HOLE TO CORRECT GM KNOWN ORIGINAL DESIGN FLAW WHICH CAUSED THE LEAK AND MALFUNCTION OF MY RADIO GPS AN ONSTAR.THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPEN ON MANY GM VEHICLES WITH THIS TYYPE {SHARK FIN} ANTENNA
THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WITH THE HEAT ON FULL, HEATED SEATS ON, AND THE REAR DEFROST. I SMELT SMOKE COMING FROM SOMEWHERE IN THE CAR. I LOOKED IN MY BACK SEAT TO SEE SMOKE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY REAR WINDOW. I DID NOT OPERATE MY REAR POWER WINDOW AT ANY POINT TODAY. I STOPPED AND LOOKED CLOSER TO SEE SOMETHING ELECTRICAL MELTING BEHIND THE REAR PASSENGER HEAD REST (SEE PICTURE). SUDDENLY THERE WAS A LOUD POP, IT WAS THE REAR WINDOW BREAKING. THE WHOLE THING DID NOT BREAK, JUST THE 1/3 ON THE DRIVER SIDE. I BELIEVE THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE I USED THE REAR DEFROST. I'M VERY HAPPY NOTHING CAUGHT ON FIRE AND MY BACK SEAT WAS EMPTY. WHEN I DROVE HOME THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS, THE REAR DEFROST WAS OFF BUT NOW I HAVE A SHATTERED. I DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING IN MY TRUCK BED THAT COULD HAVE BROKEN THE WINDOW, I BELIEVE THE HEAT FROM THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE CAUSED IT TO SHATTER. I HAVE SEEN THAT CANADA HAS RECALLED THIS TRUCK FOR THIS ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW WHO IS RESPONSIBLE AND WHO IS GOING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
