MY Vehicle (2023 Chevrolet Silverado) has been in the shop over 9 times due to issues with the radio. I bought Truck on June 2 and since then have had truck in several times due to a radio issue. Each time i have taken truck in i have been told it's a "Software Update" should be good now. Spoke with GM Customer care and their exact words were shut the radio off drive without it. The radio volume with go full blast while driving even when the radio is turned down low. When this happens, it scares you some wheel jerking. I could see someone getting hurt while this is happening, upon looking at a few different forums i am a part of this is a concern and affects a lot of drivers. The fact GM customer care simply states just shut the radio off is a real concern, We as consumers pay a lot of money for these vehicles this in my opinion is not the correct response. They don't have a fix for this yet is also what the woman from customer care had to say. this truck is over a year old. how is this possible? GM is aware of this issue but has done nothing but continue to put people's lives in danger. I don't think telling their buyers to turn off the radio and drive without it is what should be getting said.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, the Auto START/STOP feature malfunctioned, and the vehicle turned off at the stop light while attempting to accelerate. During the failure, the instrument cluster shut off and displayed a black screen. Additionally, on one occasion while reversing, the back over prevention camera screen switched to a black screen, and the vehicle shut off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.
Vehicle caught fire and burned up while idling at my babysitters
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH and hauling a small box trailer, the vehicle slid several times. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road temporarily and resumed driving; however, the failure recurred several times. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that towing assistance could be provided for the vehicle but not for the box trailer. The contact decided to continue driving the vehicle to the residence while the manufacturer remained on the phone with the contact. The contact stated that upon test driving the vehicle the following day, the vehicle operated as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was inspected, and the dealer removed the valve body of the transmission per the manufacturers' instructions. The dealer then informed the contact that metal shavings were found in the transmission pan. The dealer replaced the transmission. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the rear end of the vehicle continued to make an abnormal humming sound. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was test-driven, and the dealer determined that the rear end of the vehicle needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that while his wife was driving 40 MPH on a wet road, the vehicle inadvertently slid off the road and drove on the grassy area covered with snow. The contact's wife steered the vehicle and missed a ditch; however, the rear passenger's side of the vehicle and the rear passenger's side tire struck a pole. The air bags did not deploy. The driver did not sustain any injury. The driver exited and inspected the vehicle. The driver was able to continue driving. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.
Within weeks of buying the truck the Auto STOP/START quit working. I never gave it much thought until after a service visit and it was again working. I asked the dealer and they said the battery voltage dropped below a set level, turning off the Auto STOP/START. It quit again days later and has never worked again. There is no apparent reset. My battery voltage is normal, I have a REDTIGER F7N 4K Dual Dash Cam running 24/7 but it is drawing 4.5 to 5 watts; the car is rarely left parked for more than a day. I was initially bothered that there was no On/Off for the Auto STOP/START but I am even more frustrated that it is no longer working and no apparent reset short of taking the truck to the dealer for service.
Lost all sound in the truck. No warning sounds , no turn signal sounds, no radio, no navigation sounds. I missed a notification of a wreck on the road in front of me that would have been audible if the trucks sound systems were working.
Truck is equipped with a power up/down tailgate. I was driving on a rainy day and stopped for gas. Upon putting the vehicle in Park and shutting off the engine, the driver information center alerted with a dinging sound several times. Upon returning and starting the engine the information center alerted that the tailgate was open. I got out and checked and the tailgate was open. I closed the tailgate by manually lifting it. I believe this is a safety issue and the switching mechanism or sensor needs to be repaired or replaced.
Engine seized at 330 miles. I’ve recently seen the investigation into crank bearing failure on the L87. We upfit new vehicles. This was a test truck. We pulled oil from another identical chassis with 10 miles on it and sent it in for testing to a 3rd party. At 100C/212F the viscosity was under 7 and it should be 20. It is our belief that GM has faulty bulk oil they’re putting in new vehicles.
On [XXX], while driving 70 mph on [XXX] towards Weatherford, Texas. There was an unoccupied vehicle parked on the shoulder of the highway that was at least 15 feet from my lane. The automatic braking system slammed on the brakes unexpectedly. On [XXX] while driving 65 mph on Highway [XXX] from Cleburne Texas to Fort Worth Texas, a Texas Department of Public Safety (Highway Patrol) was parked on the shoulder of the North bound lane. Right as I was about to drive past the State Trooper, the automatic braking system slammed on the brakes unexpectedly again. I was then pulled over by the State Trooper, I explained what had happened, and he let me leave without writing a ticket. The contact's husband owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at approximately 60 MPH, and shifting gear, the vehicle lost motive power for 15-20 seconds. The Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was illuminated. On another occasion, while her husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver assist function was activated, an error message was displayed, and the vehicle failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed, and the TCM module needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,000.
When accelerating, the transmission is having issues changing gears. When the truck is trying to change gears, there is a tugging type of feeling. We have not taken the vehicle to the dealer, but we have seen that other similar vehicles are having the same issue. No warning lamps or messages appear.
On first start up when put truck in drive and give gas when it shifts from 1st gear to 2nd gear there is a big hesitation when trying to shift and rpm’s revs up then it goes into 2nd gear. This has been verified by the dealers service advisor. The service advisor says they have no service bulletin on this problem so they have no solution for it at this time. This has been happening since August 3 2023 off and on until today. I have many recording of this happening. The service adviser has listened to several of them.
While stopped at an intersection my truck lost all electrical power. a couple of seconds later the dash lights came on saying that the vehicle did not have any brakes or brake assist. Then while the vehicle was still in drive it started. due to the brakes not working the vehicle jerked forward. I put the car in neutral. The light turned green and I was able to get out of intersection and then went to the side of the road. While driving this short distance the vehicle displayed that because the brakes were not working it would not go over 62 MPH. Once I was able to stop I shut vehicle off. I waited a short time and restarted the vehicle. This appeared to fix the braking problem but the check engine light stayed on. Drove home with no further issues and called for service which will be 2/19/24. Mostly my concern is that the vehicle restarted while in drive with the vehicle having no brakes.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was designed with the Auto START/STOP feature. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the engine shut off and failed to restart upon releasing the brake pedal to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the Auto START/STOP sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the dealer advised the contact to disengage the feature when driving. The contact followed the dealer's recommendation. The contact stated that on one occasion after forgetting to disengage the feature before driving, while at a complete stop, the engine shut off and hesitated to restart. The message "Brake System Failure" was displayed, and the brakes became inoperable. The contact pumped the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact allowed the vehicle to roll from a complete stop and pull into a gas station. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer contacted the manufacturer and was helped in diagnosing the vehicle. The dealer replaced the front brakes on several occasions and replaced the rear brakes once. The contact stated that the 360-degree camera had become inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that while the dealer was completing a transmission recall repair, the dealer informed the contact that there was an engine oil leak between the engine and the transmission. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the engine overheated. The message "Reduce Acceleration - Drive with Caution" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with cooling system failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. Additionally, the instrument panel was intermittently blank. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
I purchased the vehicle on [XXX] at 124 miles it died at parking lot and would not start, called dealer i bought from they were no help. I had vehicle towed to local chevy dealer Dyer and they pulled VIN and said it was in open recall something about fuel injection flow, they said it should have never left the lot or been sold so now i'm up the creek no truck and not sure where to go with problem. Dyer says it is open ticket and they should have known this. The sales manager at Alanjay said he shows no recall on the truck. The print out from Dyer shows recall release on 01/10/2-24 and i bought on 01/17/2024 there saying they Alanjay should have caught the recall. The transmission has a shudder during gear change and at certain speeds. First noted to dealer at 7,500 miles and they could not duplicate. At 15,000 it is worse, they confirmed the issue but had no fix. New truck, they want me to just accept the problem for the moment and keep driving it. Not happy, distracting, wonder about damage being caused, and long-term impact. Will it quit on trip, middle of the night, etc.?
The truck will intermittently stop making any and all sounds. No turn signal sound, no seat belt unbuckled alert, no radio sound. It remains that way until the truck is powered off and restarted. This includes all warning chimes and infotainment sound.
2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 purchased 7/10/2023 with a 6.2L gasoline engine - Lifter and engine bearing failure leading to complete engine failure at 5920 miles on [XXX]. Dealership has been in possession of the vehicle since [XXX]. Engine failed, leaving me stranded at an intersection blocking traffic in single digit temperatures. Due to the electronic gear shift, there was no way to put the vehicle in neutral to move it from the intersection. The tow truck driver was forced to drag the vehicle onto flatbed tow truck, possibly damaging other components in the process. This appears to be a common issue that is known by General Motors without remedy. Appears to be related to the Dynamic Fuel Management system and spring-loaded lifters that fail. The vehicle has been inspected by Chevrolet Dealer, who determined it needs a full engine replacement. There were no warning lamps or messages leading up to the failure. Vehicle drove normal for over 100 miles on the highway. Upon exiting the highway, the auto start stop feature turned the engine off at a stop light. Upon letting off the brake, the engine struggled to start back up and check engine light came on. Pulled over immediately, and upon stopping at the stop sign the engine seized and would not restart. This led to me blocking an intersection for over an hour in single digit temperatures waiting for the police and a tow truck. Several things have happened multiple times now. While driving on an interstate the truck suddenly lost power then from 70 mph dropped almost immediately to 30-35 which almost caused the vehicles behind me to slam into me. Another time the auto stop came on waiting at a red light then when the light turned green the truck threw all alerts on the dash and died. Now I was parking and the esc control light came on then the trailer braking light and now the vehicle lost all power all together. I am not able to start it or even lock it.
At approximately 9k mi the engine performance (2.7L MAX Turbo) started to become intermittent. I always record the fuel milage, and always drive the same way, to/from work. NOTE: Displayed mpg calculates within 1% of actual. We can assume the driving habits are identical each time. While driving on the same tank of fuel for a week at a time: one day heading to work the indicated mpg might be 17 mpg. Driving home, about 10 minutes into the drive, it might increase 25 mpg. The following day it could be the same 17/25 mpg or it might be 25/17. The weather is somewhat dependent, whereas around =<43F the 17 mpg is almost a guarantee. While the indicated lower mpg is displayed, a direct lack of engine power is noticeable. The accelerator is dangerously non-responsive, all the while of pressing the pedal >3/4 to the floor. There is also no downshifting from the transmission whatsoever. To make the engine respond to change, the accelerator must be fully pressed to the floor, forcing the transmission into a lower gear and causing the engine to 'wake up'. When the mpg is above 20 or 21 mpg, (and temperatures >50F) the engine performs normally, where gradual accelerations to the pedal increase the engine speeds and down shift as expected. I have contacted GM through the 'MyCheverlot' app a couple of times, and have taken the truck to the dealer twice for this. Both times from the dealer it was stated that since the engine light was not on and no codes were stored, there was nothing that could be done. The dealer installed a software update and sent me on my way. Lastly, the 4WD is now making a grinding/rubbing noise, since the software update and overcomes the engine power while making turns from a stopped position. If no acceleration is applied, the truck will come to a rapid complete stop if rolling <10 mph. Truck is a LEMON!!
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The transmission "shifter" has a Parking switch on top of the shifter. Pushing the shifter full forward results in the transmission being in REVERSE. Vehicles have had full forward result in PARK for as long as the automatic transmission has been around, creating a dangerous conflict between muscle memory and function. There have been two close-calls where my mind has considered it to be in PARK and when letting off the brake, the truck began moving in reverse. Luckily, I would have only hit a parked car but if there was a person behind me? Things could turn bad, quickly. My tailgate has opened without activation 3 times while on roadways sending cargo to the road. This fortunately has not causes an accident (that I know of) but the potential obviously does exist as a vehicle may need to make an emergency lane change to avoid hitting a toolbox, crate, or other cargo that I may be carrying as I use my truck to work with. 2 of three times I was made aware and returned to clear the roadway further endangering myself. I have current cleared my pickup bed of all cargo as I no longer trust the tailgate from spewing cargo to the roadway.
Radio cuts out, no sound. Can't even use hands free calling because the sound doesn't work. Driver will try to get sound back while driving, taking eyes of the road to fiddle with radio. No recalls at the moment for this issue. Several blogs online that people are experiencing this issue. Has not been inspected as the issue is intermediate, cannot reproduce at a certain time. Could happen once a week or several days in a week, random. There were no warnings before the radio cuts out. Vehicle has experienced repeated electrical and safety system failures since purchase in 2023. Affected systems include forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, parking sensors, cameras, and infotainment. Failures include complete loss of camera functionality (rear and front), infotainment system shutdowns or resets while driving, loss of audio, and volume malfunctioning (including sudden increases or no response). The vehicle has also generated false safety alerts, including forward collision warnings and blind spot alerts when no hazard was present. These issues have occurred while the vehicle was in operation, creating safety risks due to loss of visibility systems and unreliable warning alerts. In multiple instances, the system would become completely non-functional for extended periods, sometimes lasting days or weeks, before temporarily returning. The problem has been reported to a dealership multiple times and has been inspected and serviced. Repairs have included software updates and component-related work; however, the issues have continued to persist or reoccur. The failures are intermittent but recurring and have not been permanently resolved despite multiple repair attempts. The condition reduces driver confidence and creates unsafe operating conditions due to unreliable safety systems and loss of critical features while driving.
No idea where the problem lies due to inconsistent trouble codes, the truck will randomly start jerking and sometimes kill itself after throttle won’t respond no matter the speed. Every time I’ve had somebody drive it, it does not act up for them. I’ve had several parts replaced with the same problem coming back 50+ miles later. When it gets ready to shut down it throws the check engine light, service esc, collision light, and traction light, then says speed reduced or speed will be reduced in 175 miles. I have video evidence of all of this.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to complete a turn, due to the placement of the controls on the steering wheel, the contact unintentionally activated the cruise control. As a result, the vehicle quickly accelerated to the speed last set that had been stored in the memory, almost causing a collision with the vehicle ahead. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200.
Multiple random electrical issues, including, but not limited to: 1) "Service ESC" warning activates causing the truck to have greatly reduced speed and power. Extremely dangerous at expressway speeds in heavy traffic. 2) Electrical system & engine completely shuts down with no warning. Extremely dangerous for obvious reasons. Temporarily remedied by disconnecting/reconnecting battery, thus resetting the system. Problems have been confirmed by the dealer, Bomnin Chevrolet- Dadeland. Supposedly vehicle has been inspected by a GM "TAC" technician. Vehicle has been and is currently in the possession of the dealer off & on approaching 2 months with no resolution.
Turn signal indicator on front passenger side has already failed and the vehicle has less than 4000 miles on it
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country has experienced multiple powertrain and transmission failures beginning shortly after purchase. The issues include violent shifting, hesitation, and stalling, particularly while accelerating or decelerating. These malfunctions create serious safety risks—especially when merging, turning left across traffic, or entering intersections. The truck has been returned to authorized GM dealerships multiple times for diagnostics and repair. GM service departments confirmed transmission faults but have not successfully resolved the issue despite repeated attempts. The same problems reoccur shortly after each repair. At times, the vehicle has entered “limp mode” unexpectedly while driving, causing a loss of power. On at least one occasion, this occurred while driving on a busy highway, forcing evasive action to avoid a collision. Warning lights such as the “check engine” light and service alerts frequently appear before or during these incidents. To date, the vehicle has been inspected by GM-certified technicians at authorized dealerships. A case has been opened with GM customer care and BBB AUTO LINE arbitration has been initiated. The truck remains unreliable and unsafe to operate, especially with children on board. The risk of sudden power loss or drivetrain malfunction poses a clear hazard to occupants and other drivers.
Windshield wipers have stopped/paused during operation on two occasions midway through clearing rain from the windshield while driving down the road during rain events. Each time this has happened, the wipers have paused for approximately 2 seconds and then continued working without adjusting the controls. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. If the wipers had not started working again, I could have lost the ability to see while driving on the roadway. This could have put me and family at risk of crashing, as well as other motorists on the roadway. The problem has not been evaluated at the dealership yet. There has been no lights, lamps or warnings this was going to occur either time it has happened.
The audio from the stereo will cut out for all services, FM, Sirius XM, Apple CarPlay , phone. It’s happened twice within two weeks. Once I reset the stereo in safe mode., it works again.
Engine oil cooler lines began leaking oil at 800 miles. Oil leak appears to be at engine connection for line. Took to dealer where vehicle was purchased. They added dye to engine oil and clean up evidence of leaks. Told me to drive for 300 miles and call if it leaked again. It leaked again and dealer is non responsive to request for repair. Will try another dealer. Leak is significant.
There is a noticeable clunking or knocking noise from the rear suspension, possibly the leaf springs
Front left turn signal doesn't work all the time
GM Infotainment Center unreliable and comes on when it feels like causing a panic while you are driving. I have taken it to the dealer twice and was told it is a known issue with no help in sight. The truck has less than 2000 miles on it.
Vehicle sways/wobbles on grooved pavement. Magnified immensely when towing a trailer. Threatens to pull you into other driving lanes. Service technician and service manager at dealership state it is a known condition with the type of tires Chevrolet has put on the vehicle and that Chevrolet is refusing to do anything about it. Multiple dates and is repeatable.
2023 Silverado 1500 3.0 Duramax. Transmission failure and engine overheating at 5k miles. I was towing a trailer when the 1st transmission failure occurred. The engine shut off, and said shift to N to start while coasting with loss of power braking. I was able to get started but transmission would slip when shifting above 1st gear. I had to tow to the nearest level point to safely park the vehicle, for fear of rolling backwards down 8% grade. At that point the computer was showing engine overheat loss of power warnings. GM roadside assistance towed to nearest dealer, refilled transmission with fluid, and put me back on the road for it to fail again in traffic (loss of power / unable to move). I have now been without vehicle going on 30 days and worry there is more wrong with the vehicle than just a blown transmission (latest GM diagnosis with no repair eta). For a few hours prior to failure I noticed what seemed like the transmission hunting for gears at lower speeds (0-25) with hesitation. Could have been slipping. And also noticed strange / louder than usual turbo noises. I worry the system is generating too much pressure or has mixed oil with coolant somewhere, based on finding atf, coolant, and engine oil near the overflow and all over the bottom of the vehicle. GM support has been atrocious and someone should step in.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the tailgate independently opened, causing tools to fall onto the roadway. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty switch on the tailgate. The tailgate switch was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall related to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500. The VIN was not available.
GM Infotainment system repeated intermittent malfunctions. Safety concern: Repeatedly (~20%) while driving, the audio from the car radio will spike to full volume for about 5 seconds, then the infotainment system will reboot. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE as it is startling to the driver, nearly resulting in multiple crashes. This is an issue reported by multiple owners, as evidenced by a simple Google search of '2023 silverado volume spike'. GM has refused to acknowledge this and has not issued a fix.
The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the rear passenger’s side window suddenly shattered. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who had not yet determined the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
The automatic emergency breaking never worked. I took it to the dealership and they told me the computer didn't show anything wrong. I could tell the safety features weren't behaving properly though. While I was driving the breaks completely failed. Luckily I controlled the vehicle to a stop. Every light on the dash was on. I turned the of and restarted it. When I did the break peddle pumped repeatedly on its own hard back at me and made an awful noise. The check engine light came on and stayed on. From that point I tried to get to a safe location to call a tow truck to take the truck back to the dealership. While I drove I managed to get some video of the detection system as I closed distance to the vehicle ahead it saying the gap was widening and the car right in front of me would disappear. Then as the vehicle would pull away, the sensors would say the gap was closing. My safety and others was absolutely put at risk. If anyone would have been ahead of me when the breaks failed it would have been a deadly colission. After I told the dealership there was an issue and they told me I was wrong, then this happened, they have confirmed there is a problem and have had the truck for over a week trying to repair it. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance reps. There was no warning lamps prior to the failure. The only symptom was that the safety features that were stated to be on the vehicle never worked. The truck was specifically marked to have automatic breaking, safety assist, front pedestrian breaking, following distance indicator, and forward colission alert that never worked on a brand new vehicle that never worked from the day I purchased the vehicle. I did report it by calling and even bringing the truck in to be looked at and I was told there was "no issue" by the dealership. Then the break failure took place.
We purchased a new 2023 Chevy Silverado in approximately January 2023. The onset of the problems with the new truck was Friday, August 4, 2023. The engine light came on, skipping occurred when accelerating - powertrain issues. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated and was jerking when shifting between the first and second gear. No warning lights were illuminated. Then after arriving home, the truck cut off and I attempted to re-start the car without success. Waited for some time to start the truck, but it would not start. Attempted to start again after several hours. Did not start until the next morning and was able to drive the vehicle to the Chevy dealership service department, The service department kept the vehicle from August 4, 2023, to August 10, 2023. We were not provided with another vehicle, while they worked on mine. The second time occurred 10 days after picking the vehicle up from the service department. Monday, August 21, 2023, to PRESENT. Same issues with the truck continued. This issue has caused a major inconvenience. Not only are we still making payments on the vehicle. We have not been given a date of when the vehicle issue will be resolved. The parts needed are on back order. The truck has been in the dealership service department for 22 days as of 09/05/23.
I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring issue with my recently purchased 2023 Chevrolet Silverado, documented in detail here: [XXX] . Despite the evidence presented in the document and my personal experience, Chevrolet claims there is no known issue with my vehicle. The persistent problem involves a front-end squeak chirp, which significantly impacts the driving experience. There is less than 7000 miles on my new 2023 Silverado. I am reaching out to seek your assistance in addressing this matter, as it appears to be a broader concern affecting multiple Silverado models. I believe your involvement can help ensure that both my specific case and the larger issue are thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions are taken to rectify these ongoing problems. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to a resolution that ensures the safety and performance of my vehicle. The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while using the left or right turn signals, the message "Check Left Front Turn Lamp" or "Check Right Front Turn Lamp" was displayed. During the failure the exterior turn signal had become inoperable. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.
We purchased a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado High County on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Reed Chevrolet in St. Joseph, MO. On August 19, 2023, the infotainment system failed on the vehicle. It was returned to the dealership for repair. In coordination with General Motors, the dealership could not fix the issue. They said a new infotainment system was required, but they did not have a strategy or solution to our problem. They indicated this was a supply issue, and they could not get an infotainment system as it was back-ordered. On September 11, 2023, the dealership had to trade us vehicles as they could not provide a time frame for repair. We had to give up the 3.0 straight 6 Duramax diesel we wanted and go with a gasoline version. In communication with GM, they were aware of this problem, based on the careful wording of their responses and the 2021-2023 model year Silverado pickups. I researched these model ears and found this was a common problem among many Silverado owners. GM is also well-known for this issue infotainment issue and has settled a previous class action lawsuit for different model years. GM needs to be held accountable for this issue. I look forward to your response. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I was driving Eastbound on highway 150 on my way to work. I have adaptive cruise control in my truck and have used it many times before on this exact road with no issues. Traffic was moving slow and the adaptive cruise control was following the car in front of me exactly how it is designed to do (ACC can be turned on at speeds as low as 5 mph in this vehicle and can come to a complete stop and restart movement from a complete stop). I drove through a section of this road right after the lake crossing where the morning sun was pretty bright directly facing us for a few seconds. During this time my foot was off of the accelerator and brake as instructed by the vehicle manual for safe operation of the ACC system. In these few seconds the truck unexpectedly accelerated aggressively with no warning and before I had a chance to react the truck rear ended another vehicle, pushing it into the car in front of them as well. I have been found liable so far by insurance. I am trying to argue on my behalf. I firmly believe I am not personally liable for this accident. The system in the truck is supposed to fail safe (meaning when meeting uncertain variables, such as low camera visibility, the vehicle should disengage the ACC instead of aggressively accelerating with no information of what is in front of it) and it did not in this circumstance. As stated, I had no input to the accelerator or the brake at the time of the accident according to the owners manual safe operation of this system. The vehicle FAILED to disengage the ACC system as it was supposed to and caused an accident I had NO TIME to react to by aggressively accelerating without any warning. The vehicle has been appraised for repair by the insurance company and was found to have $7000 in damages.
Rear view camera has moisture that builds up within the lens and makes it difficult to see what is behind when reversing. I've read online about many others complaining of similar issues from different source websites.
Vehicle experiences unexpected sudden acceleration, usually at low speeds. Engaging the brake will stop it.
I am filing this complaint against General Motors (GM) and its affiliated dealership Kunes Chevrolet for the unauthorized installation of a surveillance/tracking device (LoJack) in my vehicle, which resulted in severe personal harm, digital exposure, and downstream targeting. On [XXX], I purchased a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado from Kunes Chevrolet in Morrison, Illinois. I was never informed that a LoJack tracking device had been installed in the vehicle. On [XXX], I appeared in person at the same dealership to confront suspicious activity tied to my vehicle’s GPS data. A service advisor confirmed the presence of a LoJack unit and printed a removal ticket, which should be recorded in GM’s internal service system under my name and VIN. This constitutes verifiable, documented acknowledgment of the unauthorized installation. Consequences of This Violation Include: •Illegal geolocation tracking without consent •Suspected sale or exposure of my driving data to third parties and possible defense-linked contractors •Multiple impersonation attempts, including suspected social and professional infiltration •Psychological harm, loss of employment, opportunities, and repeated digital sabotage •Multiple homicide attempts on my life •FOIA-confirmed military interest in my location (Air Force Case #: [XXX]) •IRS and identity manipulation, suggesting systemic misuse of my physical address, GPS logs, and digital footprint INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
