ALL PASSENGER SEAT BELTS GET TIGHTER WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING- IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE BEING SUCKED INTO THE SEATS- IT ALSO MAKES TAKING A BREATH DIFFULCULT- THE TIGHTER THE SEAT BELTS GET THE HARDER THEY ARE TO UNLATCH- THE MAKE DO CORRECTION OFFERED BY CHEVROLET OF USING A SEATBELT EXTENSION IS UNACCEPTABLE AS IT PLACES THE BUCKLE AND CONNECTIONS OVER THE CENTER OF THE ABDOMEN/CHEST AREA
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, CAUSING INJURIES.*AK THE VEHICLE WAS HIT BROAD SIDE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT FLIPPED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND SLID 39 FEET. THE DRIVER RECEIVED SEVERE LACERATIONS TO THE BACK AREA BY SHATTERED GLASS. THE PASSENGER HAS WHIPLASH AND A SMALL CONTUSION TO THE HEAD WITH BRUISES. *JG
WHEN CAR WAS 2 MONTHS OLD, WE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER THAT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK PROPERLY IN THAT THEY LOCKED UP AND MADE THE CAR JOLT TO A STOP. DEALER SAID OVER PHONE THAT THIS WAS FINE AND DID NOT NEED TO LOOK AT CAR. ON JUNE 25, 2002, SAME PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED ON I-95 WHEN TRYING TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR THAT CUT INTO LANE. BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND, I LOST CONTROL OF SUBURBAN, WHICH ROLLED OVER AND WAS TOTALED.*AK
PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT WOULD CONTINUE TO TIGTHEN DOWN ONTO PASSENGER WHILE DRIVING. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
REAR WINDOW OF LIFTGATE 'EXPODED' SENDING GLASS 10 TO 20 YDS W/O LOCATABLE PROJECTILE. *AK
CONTACT STATES; FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WILL TIGHTEN AND LOCK WHILE ENGINE IS ON AND OFF. JUST TO UNLOCK SEAT BELT AT LATCH AND ALLOW IT TO ROLL ALL THE WAY IN BEFORE IT CAN BE APPLIED. IT TIGHTENS AS IF BRAKES WERE SLAMMED ON. HOWEVER IT TIGHTENS ANYWAY WITHOUT THAT PARTICULAR SITUATION. HAS TAKEN TO DEALER TWICE WITHOUT ANY CONCLUSIONS OR REPAIRS. *AK
WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLY HIS GEAR SHIFT TO PARK TO DRIVE. THERE IS A LOUD TICKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH AND THE VEHICLE WILLNOT MOVE. WHEN GEAR SHIFT IS PLACE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE.
UNCOMFORTABLE VIBRATION OCCURS AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR 15 MINUTES. AT 70-75 AND IS HARD TO MAKE GO AWAY WITHOUT HAVING TO STOP. FEELS LIKE SUSPENSION DEFECT.*AK
BLOWOUT WHEN SIDEWALL SEPARATED FROM TIRE BODY; TIRE RIM AND FRONT END DAMAGED.*AK
BRAKES FADE AND BECOME SPONGY WITH PEDAL ALMOST GOING TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERS NUMORUS TIMES WITH ONLY A TEMPERORY FIX.*AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. CONSUMER HAD TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING IT AGAIN. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. IT STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. CONSUMER HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES. ALSO, FUEL FILTER HAD TO BE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT ONSTAR CALLED THE PROBLEM CODE RED. CONSUMER WAS TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AT 70 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE AND LURCH. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT A CLUNKING NOISE IS HEARD WHEN TURNING TIGHT CORNERS. *TC
DT: CONTACT OWNED A 2002, CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. HE FILED A COMPLAINT BEFORE, AND HIS ODI NUMBER WAS 10099685. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. CONSUMER HAD TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING IT AGAIN. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. IT STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. OIL LEAKS! IST OIL LEAK GREENISH FLUID LEAKING FROM UNDER ENGINE SKID PLATE. HAD THAT REPAIRED AT BILLINGS CHEVROLET, AND IT IS STILL LEAKING. TECHNICIAN SAID AXLE SEAL WAS LEAKING. 2ND LEAK, ENGINE OIL LEAKING ONTO EXHAUST PIPE WHICH IS GIVING OFF BURNING SMELL IN CABIN. REPAIRED ONCE, AND IT IS STILL LEAKING. SERVICE WAS DONE AT ANDERSON CHEVROLET, MENLO CA. ****DIMS 11 IVOQ ENTRY POSTED AFTER 12/12/02 CUT-OVER TO ARTEMIS****761300. *AK *JB
WHILE DRIVING, CONSUMER NOTICED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS STICKING, CONSUMER PROCEEDED TO DRIVE AROUND A NARROW TWO WAY HIGHWAY WHICH WAS WET AT THE TIME, CONSUMER THEN RELEASED HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR AND TOUCHED THE BRAKE MODERATELY, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE KEPT MOVING WITHOUT REDUCTION IN SPEED, CONSUMER STATED THE TAIL END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN SLIDING TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT AS HE WAS APPROACHING A TURN, CONSUMER WAS FINALLY ABLE TO APPLY THE BRAKES ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PARALLEL TO THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED DAMAGE AND 2 BLOWN TIRES. *JB *SCC
DRIVERS SEAT MAKES NOISE AND MOVES FORWARD AND BACKWARDS SLIGHTLY DURING ACCELERATION AND BRAKING. *JB
TRANSMISSION OIL LEAKING ONTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM CREATING A BURNING SMELL AND OIL ALL OVER THE TRANSFER CASE AND TRANSMISSION AS WELL AS THE EXHAUST PIPE.*AK
THE CONSUMERS NOTICED THE DAY THAT THEY HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THAT THE COOLANT LIGHT WAS ON AS THEY TEST DROVE. THE SALESMAN SAID THAT THE GASKET WAS LOOSE AND WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF. IN MAY OF 2002 THE COOLANT LIGHT HAD COME ON AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE MAN AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS HOT AND THE COOLANT EVAPORATED.*SCC
DASHBOARD LIGHTS ARE TOO BRIGHT. CONSUMER IS UNABLE TO SEE SPEED. *AK DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAN NOT BE DIMMED TO REMOVE GLARE OUT OF THE DRIVER'S WINDOW AND SIDE VIEW MIRROR.*YH
AFTER FUELING VEHICLE THE NIGHT BEFORE THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL UNDERNEATH VEHICLE, THE NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO SAD IT WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECT IN THE FUEL TANK.*AK *MJ
THE FRONT PASSENGER , THE SECOND SEAT PASSENGER AND THE THIRD SEAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE ARE DEFECTIVE. WHEN RIDING, THE SEAT BELTS WILL LOCK INTO A POSITION WHERE YOU CAN'T IMMEDIATELY GET OUT OF THE BELT. THE BELTS HAVE BEEN SERVICED ON AT LEAST 3 TIMES. *NM
PARKING BRAKE WILL NOT HOLD THE CAR IN PLACE AND WAS LIKE THAT WHEN I BOUGHT IT NEW. UNABLE TO REPAIR IT TO MAKE IT HOLD THE CAR. PROBLEMS GETTING CAR INSPECTED.
THE PARKING BRAKE ON THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY SINCE NEW AND NOW I GET A REJECTION STICKER IN THE STATE WHERE I LIVE DUE TO THIS AND THEN HAVE TO SPEND MONEY TO REPAIR IT AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. IT WILL NOT HOLD EVEN ON THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE. VERY DANGEROUS.
CONSUMER STATES THAT FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY HAS A MALFUNCTION. WHEN CONSUMER IS PUTTING FUEL INTO HIS VEHICLE THE NOZZLE AT THE GAS STATION KEEP CUTTING OFF, WHICH INDICATES THAT THE TANK IS FULL, BUT THE TANK ISN'T. SO YOU HAVE TO KEEP FUELING AND ESITMATING WHEN THE TANK IS FULL. NLM
WHILE TURNING INTO A DRIVEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 7 M.P.H. BRAKES FAILED AND CAR MADE LOUD NOISE. THE SUBURBAN FINALLY STOPPED ON THE 3RD TIME OF HITTING THE BRAKES. *AK
THE DOME LIGHT SWITCH CAN BE USED TO OVERRIDE THE DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS, BY PUSHING IT IN AND OUT TWICE. THE DRLS ARE TURNED OFF AND A BELL NOTIFIES YOU. THIS CAN BE DONE AT ANY VEHICLE SPEED / GEAR. THIS DOME LIGHT SWITCH IS SIMILAR IN SHAPE AND SIZE TO THE FOG LAMP SWITCH RIGHT NEXT TO IT, AND AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING IT IS DIFFICULT TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE WHICH ONE IS BEING PRESSED. THE PROBLEM LIES WITH THE FACT THAT AT NIGHT WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED, THE HEADLIGHTS COME ON AUTOMATICALLY, HOW NICE. HOWEVER, IF YOU HIT THE OVERRIDE SWITCH TWICE THE HEADLIGHTS GO OFF LEAVING YOU IN THE DARK, WHEREVER YOU MAY BE. IT SEEMS THAT THE DRLS ARE NOT AWARE WHETHER IT IS DAY OR NIGHT. IF YOU TURN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO ON THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN.*AK
STEERING COLUMN IS NOT CENTERED PROPERLY WITNIN VEHICLE AND MAY CAUSE SEVERE INJURY IF DEPLOYED. DEALER CONTACTED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
3RD ROW SEAT BELTS WOULD CONTINUE TO TIGHTEN DOWN ON PASSENGER WHEN USED. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. *AK CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BELTS FOR THE THIRD ROW ARE DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN, CONSUMER WAS GIVEN EXTENDERS. *SLC
2002 CHEVY SUBURBAN WITH A RECALL FOR CORROSION. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CLEARED. HE WAS INFORMED THE RECALL WAS FOR VEHICLES IN THE NORTHERN AND NORTHEASTERN STATES. *KB
I HAVE BEEN UNABLE, SINCE PURCHASE, TO PROPERLY FILL THE GAS TANK. THE TANKS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, THE FILLER MECHANISM HAS BEEN REPLACED. GMC ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THER IS A PROBLEM BUT SIX MONTHS AFTER FIRST IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM, THEY SAY THEY STILL DONT HAVE A FIX. I SEE FROM CHECKING CONSUMER COMPLAINTS THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME DIFFICULTIES AND ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF GAS FUME BUILDUP AND POSSIBLE EXPLOSION.*AK
HEADLIGHTS ON LATE MODEL SUV'S (SUBURBAN USED AS EXAMPLE) ARE AIMED TOO HIGH, BLINDING SEDAN DRIVERS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.*AK

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE CONSUMER WAS DISTRACTED WHEN THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS HEAVELY REFLECTED INSIDE VIEW MIRROR. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM. *YH

THERE HAS BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING SINCE APRIL 2003. VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. *AK
THE VEHICLE IS PRODUCING TOXIC FUMES FROM THE AIR VENTS. THIS CAUSED INJURIES TO DRIVER'S EYES.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT 65 MPH, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS SUDDENLY STOP FUNCTIONING. THE WIPERS WOULD NOT COME BACK ON. THE MANUFACTURER REPLACED THE WIPER MOTOR CIRCUIT BOARD. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION *PH.
THE STEERING COLUMN IS OFF CENTER TO THE RIGHT, WHICH MEANS IF THE AIR BAG IS NEEDED IT WILL NOT PROTECT THE BODY IN THE CENTER. PETITION SENT TO EXEC SECT.... CONSUMER PURCHASED A 2002 CHEVY TAHOE AND A 2002 CHEVY SUBURBAN. BOTH VEHICLES STEERING COLUMN WAS OFF CENTER. THE CONSUMER'S MOTHER DROVE THE SUBURBAN AND WHEN SHE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, SHE SAT IN FOUR OTHER SUBURBAN'S. THREE OUT OF THE FOUR WERE WORSE THAN HER VEHICLE. THE FOURTH ONE WAS OFF CENTER TO THE LEFT. ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER LEASED A TRAILBLAZER AND THAT VEHICLE IS FINE. THE CONSUMER LEASED THREE OTHER CHEVY EXPRESS VANS AND THEY ARE FINE. ALL VEHICLES WERE LEASED AT THE SAME PLACE. CONSUMER WAS TOLD NO DEFECT WHEN THE VEHICLES WERE FIRST RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP. *PH
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE EXPLODED FROM THE SIDEWALL. ALSO DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE DEVELOPED A HOLE IN THE SIDEWALL, AND THE TIRE DEFLATED. THE CAUSE OF BOTH FAILURES WAS UNDETERMINED.*AK
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING TIRE PROBLEMS. VEHICLE WASTED THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT TIRES MORE THAT WHAT ITS REGULAR USAGE WOULD BE. DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND DID FOUR ALIGNMENTS IN LESS THEN A YEAR. MANUFACTURER SATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO MORE THAN JUST AN ALIGNMENT. *AK
