VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT. OWNER HEARD HORN GOING OFF AT 3AM AND LOOKED OUTSIDE AND SAW A SMALL FIRE ON DRIVER SIDE FRONT HOOD NEAR TIRE AREA. FIRE BURNED INTENSELY THROUGHOUT LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT. *TR
THE TREADWALLS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE AT THE TOP SLITS AND LOSS AIR. THIS IS UNREPAIRABLE. THIS IS THE 2ND OF 4 TIRES WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE 1ST WE WERE STANDING OUTSIDE AND THE TRUCK WAS PARKED AND WE HEARD A POP AND THEN HEARD AIR COMING FROM THE TIRE. THIS TIME WE WERE TRAVELING AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SENSED THE LOSS OF AIR AND ALERTED ME AND WE PULLED OFF THE INTERSTATE JUST IN TIME TO AVOID AN UNFORESEEN ACCIDENT. I HAD 8 PEOPLE INCLUDING MYSELF IN THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. *TR

INTERMITTENT SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE LAMP ON AND CODE C0378. *JB
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THIS MORNING AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE STOPPED WORKING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. THANK GOD SHE WAS DRIVING IN SLOW SPEED AND COULD STOP THE VEHICLE AND AVOIDED A CRASH. IT HAPPENED RIGHT BEFORE SHE HAD TO TURN LEFT BUT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND SHE WENT STRAIGHT. SHE WAS SCARED A LOT AND WHAT IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY. YESTERDAY WE HAVE SERVICED THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THERE WAS SOME RECALL AND THEY UPDATED THE ECU ON THE VEHICLE. *JB
2007 SUBURBAN WITH 3RD ROW SEATING. THE SEATBELTS LOCK UP WITH THE SLIGHTEST PRESSURE (LEANING FORWARD, APPLYING BRAKES). SEATBELT MUST BE RELEASED FROM BUCKLE, ALLOWED TO RETRACT TO RESET. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 2500. THE CONTACT TOOK HER VEHICLE TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WAS UNDERPOWERED. THE VEHICLE STALLED AT INTERSECTIONS AND WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AT 15 MPH. SHE HEARD STRANGE NOISES COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE FOR FIVE WEEKS. CHEVROLET SENT A REPRESENTATIVE TO INSPECT THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO DRIVE IN THAT MANNER. THE SERVICE MANAGER AND THE DEALER OWNER ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE, BUT THE DISTRICT MANAGER WAS RELUCTANT AND INFORMED THE DEALER TO STOP REPAIRING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO HER RESIDENCE WHERE IT CURRENTLY REMAINS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP INTERMITTENTLY AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE BECOMES DIFFICULT TO SHIFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT UNLESS THE FAILURE OCCURS FREQUENTLY, THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET AN ANALYSIS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAS BEEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS. CHEVROLET STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,500.
WE HAVE A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN THE SECOND ROW MIDDLE SEATBELT JUST UNRAVELED, 2 WEEKS LATER THE 3RD ROW MIDDLE SEATBELT UNRAVELED. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINING 3 YRS AGO WE HAD A GMC YUKON AND WE WERE IN A SEVERE CRASH. THE YUKON WAS ONLY 3 YRS OLD AT THE TIME AND THE FRONT MIDDLE SEATBELT FAILED AND THE SECOND ROW MIDDLE SEATBELT FAILED SERIOUSLY INJURING OUR FAMILY. THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THE QUESTION ARE THESE THE SAME SEATBELTS I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS A COINCIDENCE. CAN SOMEONE LOOK INTO IT. *TR
LOOSE STEERING CAUSED BY OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE A RECALL TO ADDRESS A PERMEATE REMEDY. WHILE THE FACTORY WARRANTY PAID FOR THE FIRST TWO REPLACEMENTS, AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PAID FOR ALL BUT THE $50 DEDUCTIBLE ON THE THIS THIRD REPLACEMENT THIS WAS BY ALL ACCOUNTS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 CHEVROLET SUBURBANS. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. HE STATED THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO READ THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER INSTRUMENTS DURING DAYLIGHT. HE ATTEMPTED TO ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL; HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR. A COMPLAINT WAS SUBMITTED TO GENERAL MOTORS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,440. UPDATED 02-04-08. *KB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, IN WHICH THE ALTERNATOR WAS RE-ADJUSTED TO INCREASE THE CHARGE OF THE BATTERY. HOWEVER THE BATTERY CONTINUALLY LOSES ENERGY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING RE-INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A STRONG GAS ODOR THAT INTENSIFIES WHILE ACCELERATING TO 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY ARE CLUELESS AS TO WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE ODOR CAUSED A 4 YEAR OLD CHILD TO VOMIT AND AGGRAVATES HIS ASTHMA. THE # OF CYLINDERS AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 11,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 920.
STABILITY LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON SAYING NEED SERVICED, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, TRANSMISSION SLIPS FROM 1ST INTO 2ND, AND VEHICLE MAKES NOISE MAKING TURNS. VEHICLE TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE BUT MECHANIC HAVING TROUBLE WITH CODES. VEHICLE IS 07 SUBURBAN WITH 961 MILES. *JB
WHEN I BOUGHT THIS SUV THE SALESMAN SAID DASH WAS CRACKED DO TO THE SUN. THEN I FOUND OUT IT WAS DO TO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT ALSO SAID GE DIDN'T BELIEVE IT HAS BEEN IN A ACCIDENT. IT WAS. ETCETC 1Q TRANS FLUID INSTEAD OF OIL 2 LEAKING ANTIFREEZE ON TOP OF MOTOR 3 EMS NEEDS REPLACED 4 2 BAD TIRES PASSENGER FRONT VALVE STEAM. RACK AN PINION IS LEAKING FOR A WHILE. BRAKES ARE BAD. IT HAS BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THE CRACKS IN THE DASH IS NOT FROM THE SUN THERE FROM THE AIR BAGS BEING DEPLOYED. WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO BE WITHOUT A VECHICLE THAT LONG AND THIS ONE FALLS UNDE THE LEMON.LAW FOR USED VECHCLES FROM A USED CAR LOT. HIDDEN INFORMATION. NOT DISCLOSED I HAVE TALKED TO AN ATTORNEY DID NOT SAY WHAT CARLOT I GOT IT FROM BUT L. I WISH TO SWAP OUT TO A DUFFERNT VEHICLE BEFORE I PRESUE HIRING ON THE ATTORNEY. RIGHT NOW IM AT THE V.A. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE SHIFT INDICATOR REACHED TEMPERATURES IN EXCESS OF 100 DEGREES AND COULD CAUSE A BURN TO THE TOUCH. THE MANUFACTURER AND A CHEVROLET DEALER WERE AWARE, AND STATED THAT THIS WAS NORMAL AND THERE WAS NOTHING TO REPAIR. THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE INDICATOR WAS ALWAYS HEATED, AND THE CAR HAD A BURNING SMELL BECAUSE OF IT AND GOT WORSE WHILE DRIVING. *AK
IN AUGUST LAST YEAR I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. AT 2000 MILES THE CAR IS 1ST TOTALLY DRAINING THE BATTERY ( I WAS IN CAMPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST- THEY FOUND ME AFTER 3 HRS- SHERIFF DEPT). SINCE THEN EVERY MONTH SAME AND THE DEALER CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THEY CHANGED 3 BATTERIES. TODAY 2/21/2007 IS THE 7TH TIME. I PAY $825/MTH + RENT A CAR EVERY MONTH -- THEY DO NOT PAY FOR RENT A CAR BECAUSE THEY START BLAME EACH OTHER. GMC IS BLAMING THE DEALER AND THE DEALER GMC. I'M IN THE MIDDLE AND I DON'T HAVE A CAR. CHROME PLATING ON FRONT DOOR HANDLES IS FLAKING OFF CREATING SHARP EDGES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SPONTANEOUSLY FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS FAILURE COULD CAUSE A CRASH. THE DEALER INSTALLED A RUBBER BOOT ON THE STEERING COLUMN, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL MONTHS LATER. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND PROVIDE A SUFFICIENT REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THE SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ON OUR 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WITH A SMALL ADULT WEIGHING BETWEEN 105 AND 115 POUNDS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THE AIRBAG CONTINUALLY SWITCHES BACK AND FORTH FROM ON TO OFF ON A TRIP. MY WIFE WILL TRY TO FIND A POSITION WHERE THE AIRBAG IS ON, ONLY TO NOTICE SEVERAL MINUTES LATER IT IS AGAIN OFF. *JB
TAKATA RECALL CHEVROLET DEALER WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH MEANS OUR FAMILY IS DRIVING A KILLING MACHINE BECAUSE WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LEASE OR BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE. WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT RECOURSE WE HAVE?

WHILE DRIVING MY 2004 GMC SUBURBAN HOME WITH MY FAMILY. I LOOKED DOWN AND NOTICED I WAS DRIVING AT 90 MILES AN HOUR. WHAT A SURPRISE. THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING WRONG. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME I WAS GOING 120 MILES AN HOUR PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. THIS JUST HAPPENED AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT FIXED YET. THIS COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IF NOT FIXED. I READ MANY BLOGS AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. I AM VERY LUCKY THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED OR KILLED BY THIS SAFETY ISSUE. IN MY OPINION THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY A SAFETY RECALL. I WORK FOR GM AND I AM VERY EMBARRASSED BY THIS QUALITY ISSUE. SO MUCH FOR THE QUALITY OF GM VEHICLES WHEN I SEE MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. *NM
TAKATA AIRBAGS. I HAVE GONE BACK AND FORTH OVER THUS ISSUE. GM SAYS THEY WILL REPLACE AIRBAGS, DEALERSHIPS ARE SAYING THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT PARTS, IT'S NOW BEEN 4 YEARS AND NHTSA HAS DONE NOTHING TO ENFORCE THE RECALLS.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONSTANTLY. THE ENGINE THEN LOST THE MAJORITY OF POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND WAS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AFTER 10 MINUTES AND DRIVEN TO A RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED.
MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN WINDSHIELD, WHEN LOOKING THROUGH GLASS EVERYTHING LOOKS WAVY. VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING AND GIVES ME HEADACHES. TOOK TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD WITH ONE WORSE THAN THE FIRST ONE ,COMPLAINED ON THE SPOT. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONTACTED GLASS MANUFACTURER. GLASS MANUFACTURER SAYS ALL THE WINDSHIELDS ARE DEFECTIVE IN SPOTS . I HAVE BEEN WAITING ABOUT SIX MONTH FOR A GOOD WINDSHIELD-CANT DRIVE IT MUCH ,GIVES ME REALLY BAD HEADACHES, AND A FEELING OF MOTION SICKNESS.*AK
CAR IS 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN - 2 MONTHS OLD. CHECK ENGINE AND CHECK AIR BAG LIGHTS CAME ON. THEN, NEXT DAY CAR WOULD NOT START AND WAS JUMPED EASILY. AFTER 2 DAYS AT DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT., DECIDED IT WAS THE CDM. 15 DAYS LATER CDM CAME IN BUT, SERVICE TECHS FOUND 4-5 WIRES "BURNT UP". WIRING HARNESS IS BROKEN. AFTER 6 DAYS WIRING HARNESS IS IN AND BEING REPLACED CURRENTLY. DEALERSHIP IS NOT SURE THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *NM
"TAKATA RECALL" - THE PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE ARE IN DANGER SHOULD THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND OF COURSE THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS AVAILABLE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT IN ORDER TO VIEW THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DURING THE DAY THE LIGHTS NEEDED TO BE ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO READ ANY OF THE FEATURES ON DASHBOARD. UPDATED 01/10/07. *JB
I OWN A 2007 SUBURBAN THAT HAS NO ACCELERATION WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC OR WHEN PASSING. POTENTIAL REAR COLLISION ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS. ENGINE TAPPING IS MODERATE TO SEVERE, SOUNDS LIKE METAL TO METAL IMPACT. HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT TO GM, AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS. THEY OFFERED TO PAY ONE MONTH'S TRUCK PAYMENT AS COMPENSATION FOR THE PROBLEMS. JUST BEFORE PARKING WHEN VEHICLE IS IN SLOW ROLL IT WILL SUDDENLY LUNGE FORWARD. VEHICLE IS DEFINITELY A LEMON.*AK
2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN SAFETY DEFECT WITH THE CENTER SEAT. CONSUMER STATES THAT HE CANNOT SAFELY SECURE A PASSENGER IN THE CENTER SEAT OF THE FRONT BENCH SEAT. *KB
