HUGE CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD, DRIVER SIDE. THE ELECTRICAL HAS BEEN BAD IN THIS VEHICLE EVER SINCE WE'VE HAD IT SINCE 2009 FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS THE WINDOW CONTROLS DON'T WORK AND THE RADIO DOESN'T WORK CAR JUST STOPS ON ITS OWN AND DIES REAR PASSENGER RADIO GETS EXTREMELY HOT TO WEAR IT CAUSES THE SKIN TO BE BURNED. VEHICLE RATTLES EXTREMELY LOUDLY AND KEEPS GETTING WORSE OVER THE YEARS.
THE TCC IS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSESS SHUTTERING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS ON A SURBURBAN LESS THAN 100,000 MILES ON VEHICLE
ENTIRE DASHBOARD HAS SEVERE CRACKING AND LOOSE PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD DUE TO CRACKING. THIS SITUATION CREATES AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHICH COULD CAUSE BODILY HARM IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT SPECIFICALLY IN THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG. THE SMALL CRACKED PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD ARE SMALL ENOUGH FOR A CHILD TO SWALLOW CREATING A CHOKING HAZARD.
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN 4 OR 5 PLACES OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. THIS WAS NOT A RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT. IT JUST CRACKED WITHOUT ANY STRESS ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE FRONT AND REAR AREA OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE WIRING INTO THE FUSE BOX WAS MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND OVER STEERING WHEEL.
I HAVE A 2007 SUBURBAN THAT HAS A CRACKED DASH ALONG THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND OVER BY THE AIR BAG... CHEVORLET WILL NOT FIX IT BECAUSE IT IS NOT UNDER RECALL AND VECHILE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND SAYS I WILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE IT FIXED. I THINK IS A DEFECT IN YOUR DASHES AS I USE A SUN SHIELD AND IT STILL CRACKED AND I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX SOMETHING I FEEL IS A DEFECT IN THE WAY YOU MAKE YOU DASHES. I AM SCARED THAT IF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT SOMEONE MAY GET HURT BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT IS CRACKED. I WOULD TO HAVE THIS RESOLVED AND NOT HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET AND TAKE AWAY FROM MY 5 CHILDREN TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED WHEN I FEEL IT'S A DEFECT ON YA'LLS PART.
I STARTED MY CAR AND THE BRAKES WERE GONE AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED UP. I TURNED IT OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN, THEN THE BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. I WAITED A WHILE AND TRIED A THIRD TIME, IT MADE A POWER STEERING MACHINE NOISE AND WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, THEREFORE COULD NOT USE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY TO FIX IT. I PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP, BECAUSE I WILL NOT DRIVE IT IF THERE IS EVEN A CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING AGAIN. IT'S TOO MUCH OF A LIABILITY.
CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HAVE A PROBLEM WITH EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING. AND NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
SAFE LITE AUTO GLASS PLACED POLYEURETHANE GLUE ON THE REAR WINDOW AUTO DEFROSTER METAL CONTACT TO THE REAR WINDOW OF MY CHEVY 2007 LT SUBURBAN. I HIT THE REMOTE STARTER AND ALLOWED THE CAR TO RUN FOR 9 MINUTES, THE VEHICLE WILL AUTO SHUT OFF AFTER 10 MINUTES. MY DAUGHTER SMELLED SMOKE IN THE CAR SO I INSERTED MY IGNITION KEY AND I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOWS. I THEN BACKED MY CAR OUT OF THE GARAGE, PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND MY REAR WINDOW EXPLODED INTO PIECES OF GLASS EVERYWHERE. I CALLED THE POLICE, FILED A POLICE REPORT, FILED A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY (GEICO, REF CLAIM # : 0501768800101053) WHERE THE CLAIMS ADJUSTER FOUND THAT THE METAL CONTACT DID CAUSE A CHEMICAL REACTION WITH THE POLYURETHANE GLUE AS THE CAUSE. MY TWO CHILDREN AND I WHERE COMING HOME FROM A WRESTLING TOURNAMENT TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 65 MPH. THEY WERE IN THE BACK SEAT. WE ALL HAD SEAT BELTS ON. I HAD A EPILEPTIC SEIZURE AND THEY SAID MY FOOT HIT THE THROTTLE SO WE MIGHT HAVE BE GOING FASTER WHEN WE HIT. I LAST RECALL DOING THE SPEED LIMIT. I WENT TO THE LEFT AND MISSED A POWER POLE BUT HIT THE RAILROAD TRACKS(THESE TRACKS ARE BANKED UP ON DIRT AND ROCK). WHICH CAUSED THE SUBURBAN TO SOME HOW ROLL 4 TO 5 TIMES DOWN THE TRACKS.WE ENDED UP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACKS ON OUR RIMS. EVERY TIRE WAS BLOWN. EVERY WINDOW WAS SHATTERED EXCEPT THE FRONT IT HAD A HOLE IN A CENTER OF IT WHICH A RAILROAD TIE CAME THRU. THERE ARE IMPRESSIONS OF THE RAILROAD ROAD TRACKS ON THE SUBURBAN . THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE SUBURBAN IS SMASH DOWN TO THE DRIVER HEAD REST . I ENDED UP WITH A BROKEN NECK. THANK GOODNESS MY KIDS SEATS WERE RECLINED IN THE BACK OR THEIR NECKS WOULD HAVE BROKE. NOT ONE PART OF THIS SUBURBAN IS NOT SMASHED. EVERYTHING FLEW OUT OF IT WHEN WE ROLLED. MY SON HAD TO CRAWL OUT THE WINDOW AND SEARCH ON THE GROUND TO FIND CELL PHONES THAT FLEW OUT OF THE SUBURBAN WHEN WE WRECKED TO CALL 911. THE SIDE AIR BAGS FAILED MY FAMILY. I ALWAYS FELT SAFE WITH THEM. BUT WE ROLLED AND THEY DID NOT WORK. EVEN THE FRONT AIRBAG DIDN'T GO OFF WHEN I FIRST HIT THE TRACKS. BESIDES MY BROKEN NECK IT ALL TURNED OUT GOOD. I WILL NEVER BUY A CHEVY AGAIN. OUR INSURANCE COMPANY SAID OUR SUBURBAN IS TOTALED. ONLY THING WORTH ANYTHING IS MAYBE THE SEATS. EVERYTHING THING ELSE IS SCRAP METAL. DASH PAD CRACKED. CRACK STARTS BY UPPER LEFT CORNER OF PASSENGER SIDE DASH AIRBAG PAD AND GOES TOWARD WINDSHIELD. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AS STATED TO ME BY DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. AFTER MY VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY TOTALED, I WENT TO SEE ANOTHER SUBURBAN, A 2008 WHICH HAD A CRACKED DASH WITH IDENTICALLY PLACED CRACK. DEALER WANTED $750 JUST FOR THE PART. WONDERING IF THE CRACK WILL AFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM HAD CORROSION ON THE METAL FUEL LINES, TO THE POINT THAT THEY WERE ABOUT TO FAIL, DEALER REPLACED THEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE REDUCE ENGINE POWER MESSAGE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE MERGED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
FOR THE LAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO GET GM/CHEVROLET TO PAY FOR MY FAULTY SPEEDOMETER AND SINCE THERE WAS NO OFFICIAL RECALL OTHER THEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LIST ALTHOUGH IT DID RECEIVE THE SAME MANUFACTURED PART AS THE PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS, I TOO SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT-#07187A I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE FIXED SINCE A: GM SPOKESWOMAN [XXX] - SAID FRIDAY THAT THE AGREEMENT "CLEARS THE SLATE" BETWEEN DELPHI AND GM "AND RESOLVES A CERTAIN GROUP OF OUTSTANDING WARRANTY ISSUES." SHE SAID THE AGREEMENT COVERS AS MANY AS 50 WARRANTY ISSUES; THE SETTLEMENT REFERS TO AT LEAST 43 WARRANTIES. THE MAJOR ISSUE RESOLVED INVOLVES 1.1 MILLION ELECTRONIC PARTS THAT ARE PART OF INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS, ACCORDING TO A HEAVILY EDITED VERSION OF THE AGREEMENT THAT HAS BEEN MADE PUBLIC. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS THE ELECTRONIC BRAIN BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE DASH. WITH THE AGREEMENT AND AN IMPROVING RELATIONSHIP WITH DELPHI, GM HOPES TO SAVE $2 BILLION ANNUALLY IN PARTS COSTS. AS DELPHI EXITS SEVERAL BUSINESSES, GM WILL REPRESENT A DIMINISHING SHARE OF ITS REVENUE -- DOWN TO A QUARTER OR LESS THAN $5 BILLION BY 2010. DELPHI ATTORNEY JACK BUTLER SAID THE AGREEMENT SAVES DELPHI "HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN POTENTIAL LIABILITY." DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACED UNDER THE DEAL, GM WILL RECEIVE $47.5 MILLION TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC PARTS AND DELPHI WILL PROVIDE 1.1 MILLION NEW PARTS AT NO CHARGE THROUGH 2014. THE DARK IN CRACKING IN MULTIPLE PLACES INCLUDING AROUND THE AIR BAG. THE DANGER IS THE DASH ITSELF COULD BECOME PIECES OF SHRAPNEL IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY. THE CRACKS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS DUE TO THE TIGHT FIT OF THE DASH IN THE SPACE ALLOWED. THIS IS OUR SECOND DASH AS THE FIRST CRACKED DASH WAS ALREADY REPLACED.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LACERATIONS ON THE NOSE, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
I purchased 2007 Chevy suburban on 2014 and a year after the dashboard start with a crack on the side of the passenger.

INTERIOR CHROME DOOR HANDLES PEELING. PEELING CHROME EXTREMELY SHARP. I'VE HAD MY FINGERS PRICKED BY THE PEELING CHROME AND MY WIFE GOT A SMALL CUT ON HER FINGER FROM IT. VERY SHARP. *TR
STEPPED ONTO THE RUNNING BOARD TO ENTER THE VEHICLE AND UPON DOING SO THE DASH CRACKED IN TWO PLACES ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. A FEW WEEKS AFTER THIS I NOTICED THAT THE DASH HAD CRACKED AT AN UNKNOWN TIME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DIRECTLY NEXT TO THE AIRBAG SECTION OF THE DASH. HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND CANNOT GET A RESPONSE.
TAKATA RECALL INFO RECEIVED, BUT CHEVY WON'T FIX IT. ANOTHER ISSUE IS CRACKED DASHBOARD IN SEVERAL PLACES. I AM CONCERNED WITH ITS INTEGRITY.
IGNITION DOES NOT ENGAGE ENGINE WHEN KEY IS TURNED. TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF TURNING KEY ON, COMPLETELY OFF, THEN ON AGAIN UNTIL ENGINE WILL ENGAGE AND START. STABILITRAK LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND GOES OFF EVERY 20-40 MILES. ROUGH SHIFT BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. *TR

THE PLASTIC INSTRUMENT DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. THE ONE CRACK IS LOCATED BESIDE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT APPEARS THAT IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE FOR PIECES OF THE PLASTIC DASH TO BE PROPELLED AROUND THE INTERIOR CABIN OF THE VEHICLE IF THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY IN A CRASH. *TR
WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, STABILITRAK LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND ENGINE BEGAN IDLING ROUGH. CODES READ CYLINDER #6 MISFIRE. DIAGNOSIS REVEALED FAILED PISTON. ENGINE REBUILD REQUIRED AT A COST OF $6700. STABILITRAK LIGHT CONTINUES TO GO ON AND OFF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE REDUCED POWER ENGINE AND STABILITY TRACTION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHILE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT WITH THE BRAKES ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED THE THROTTLE BOX BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,000.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROL AREA ALL THE WAY UP. I HAVE TRIED TO REPAIR WITH PLASTIC EPOXY AND A VINYL REPAIR KIT AND IT STILL LOOKS HORRIBLE. DUE TO THE DEGREE OF POOR PERFORMANCE WITH THIS CHEAP PIECE AND POSSIBLE FRACTURING UPON AIRBAG INFLATION IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. GM ISN'T TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT.
WHILE THIS WAS/IS A USED VEHICLE, AND WHILE THE MILEAGE IS HIGH, THE SHEER FREQUENCY OF THE EXACT SAME COMPLAINT DICTATES THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT FREQUENTLY OCCURS. FURTHER EXACERBATING THE PROBLEM IS THAT GM AND ITS DEALERS HAVE NO INCENTIVE TO FIX THE ISSUE AS A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT IS WHAT IS BEING OFFERED AS A SOLUTION. I WAS QUOTED BY MY DEALER THAT THE COSTS FOR THIS IS (~)$8,000.00! AS IS THE CASE WITH THE OTHERS THAT HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS: I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND THE OIL PRESSURE WENT TO ZERO. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED A FEW COMPONENTS AND SENT ME ON MY WAY (AFTER GETTING A LARGE BILL OF COURSE). WE USE THE CAR VERY INFREQUENTLY AND AS SUCH, WITHIN A 100 MILES OF USE, I WAS BACK AT THE DEALER WITH, AGAIN, VERY LOW OIL PRESSURE. THERE RECOMMENDATION WAS TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AT $8000 OR PERFORM AN OVERHAUL AT 2000+ WITH NO GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. FROM A COST STANDPOINT: THE SUBURBAN IS A $60,000+ VEHICLE, AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXABLE/RESOLVABLE, OTHER THAN BY GM ASKING FOR AN ADDITIONAL $8000. FROM A SAFETY ISSUE, THESE CARS ARE HEAVY, BIG, AND CAN CAUSE MUCH DAMAGE IF THE DRIVER IS DISTRACTED BY SUCH A LARGE ENGINE PROBLEM AND/OR THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN DUE TO THE ENGINE BLOCK FREEZING UP AND/OR SEIZING DUE TO THE LACK OF OIL PRESSURE. NOW, AND ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF GMS REFUSAL TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE SAFETY RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH ITS IGNITIONS, I THINK THERE IS SUFFICIENT CAUSE FOR THE NHTSA TO TAKE A HARD LOOK INTO THIS, OPEN A FULL INVESTIGATION, AND HOPEFULLY RECTIFY THIS FOR THE HUNDRED (AND POSSIBLY THOUSANDS) OF CONSUMERS AFFECTED AND FORCE GM TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES, BOTH WITH RESPECT TO ITS EXISTING/PAST SALES, AS WELL AS ADDRESS ITS FUTURE DESIGNS. *TR
THE DASH BOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE AREAS THAT COULD IMPACT THE PROPER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
THE FORWARD SPRAG UNIT BROKE WHICH ENDED UP NOT ONLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COME OUT OF DRIVE WHILE WE WERE DRIVING BUT ALSO CAUSED SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION TO REQUITE AN ENTIRE REBUILD. FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS ARE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND THE TAHOE, YUKON AND BECAUSE THE COMPANY REFUSES TO BACK THEIR PRODUCTS AND RECALL THE ISSUE, IT ENDS UP BECOMING A HUGE FINANCIAL BURDEN ON A FAMILY. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO ONE FOLLOWING DIRECTLY BEHIND US WHEN THIS HAPPENED OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO TAKE NOTE AND STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. CONSUMERS HAVE A RIGHT TO EXPECT A QUALITY VEHICLE THAT SHOULD LAST WELL BEYOND 100K MILES WITHOUT REQUIRING THIS KIND OF MAJOR REPAIR. NOTE THAT GM IS SO AWARE OF THIS SAFETY PROBLEM, THEY ACTUALLY UPDATED THEIR INPUT SPRAG ON LATER CARS TO MAKE THEM STRONGER. THATS RIGHT, THEY HAVE UPDATED THE COMPONENT BUT REFUSE TO RECALL THE ONES ALREADY IN VEHICLES THAT WERE WEAK. THE TRANSMISSION SHOP THAT REBUILT MY TRANSMISSION HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ON THE VEHICLE THAT FOLLOWED MINE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PATTERN WITH GM THAT THE NHTSA SHOULD LOOK INTO. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES INCLUDING OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. IF THE AIRBAGS WERE TO DEPLOY, SHARDS OF THE DASHBOARD WOULD BECOME INSTANT PROJECTILES INTO THE CABIN POTENTIALLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. CRACKS OCCURRED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION.
I PURCHASED A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN APPROXIMATELY 18 MONTHS AGO. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 86000 MILES ON IT. AT APPROXIMATELY 89000 MILES THE DASH BEGAN CRACKING. IT HAS CONTINUED TO CRACK EVER SINCE. THE FIRST ONE WAS ON THE LEFT FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. SINCE THEN I HAVE NUMEROUS CRACKS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS COULD BE A HAZARD IF THE AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED AND THE DASH BREAKS FURTHER AND SENDS PROJECTILES OF THE DASH MATERIAL AIRBORNE IN A CRASH. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH ALL OF THESE MODEL VEHICLES FROM 2007 TO 2011. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AND PAID FOR BY GM. SOME OF THESE CRACKS HAVE HAPPENED WHILE MOVING AND ONE EVEN HAPPENED FROM THE INTERIOR GETTING COLD INSIDE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD EXHIBITED SEVERAL SIX INCH LENGTH CRACKS ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND ALSO NEAR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG HOUSING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATELY FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THE AIR BAG AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WARNING LAMPS ALSO ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS CHAFED AND BURNED NEAR THE LIFT GATE THAT EXTENDED TO THE FUSE BOX. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.

MY 07 CHEVY SUBURBAN HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CRACKS ARE NEAR THE AIR BAG AND CLOSE TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DASHBOARD RATTLES AND I AM CONCERNED THAT AN AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WILL CONSIST OF SHRAPNEL FROM THE DASHBOARD AS WELL. ALSO, FURTHER CRACKING OF THE DASHBOARD COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THE DASHBOARD TO CAVE IN ALL TOGETHER WHILE DRIVING. THESE CRACKS HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY NUMEROUS GM CUSTOMERS, SO THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY CONCERN THAT IS IN NEED OF AN INVESTIGATION AND RECALL ACTION FROM GM. THANKS
THE DASHBOARD IS BADLY CRACKED. IT WILL COST ABOUT $1,000 TO REPAIR WHICH REDUCES THE NET PROCEEDS IF WE SELL IT. WE DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE SELLING IT WITHOUT THE REPAIR AND DOUBT ANYONE WOULD WANT TO BUY IT IN THIS CONDITION. I ALSO FEEL SOMEWHAT UNSAFE DRIVING IT CONSIDERING THE AIRBAG ISSUES. IT'S GRADUALLY GOTTEN WORSE, SO NO SPECIFIC DATE THAT I CAN RECALL.
2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN WITH 5.3 AFM ENGINE. DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY AND TRACTION CONTROL, STABILINK AND ENGINE LIGHT COME ON. MISFIRING REAL BAD. AFTER GETTING IT TO SHOP THEY STATED NO COMPRESSION IN 2 CYLINDERS. WHEN TOLD SERVICE MANAGER HE STATED WHAT PROBLEM WAS RIGHT AWAY. THEN CONFIRMED IT. KNEW RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE IT IS COMMON PROBLEM. STATED PROBLEM DROPPED LIFTERS WHICH DAMAGED CAMSHAFT STEMMING FROM AFM SYSTEM. WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO TEAR DOWN ENGINE TO BE EXACT BUT WILL NEED A MOTOR EITHER WAY. THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM WITH THIS MOTOR. I HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING OIL CONSUMPTION FOR A LONG TIME. I WOULD BURN A QUART OF OIL DRIVING 1000 MILES ON LONG TRIPS. EVERY WEEK I'M A 1/4-1/2 QUART LOW. CHEVY SAYS THIS IS NORMAL AND DENIES THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT THIS IS FAR FROM NORMAL. THIS ALSO STEMS FROM AFM SYSTEM. AN 07 CHEVY SUBURBAN THAT HAS BEEN MAINTAINED SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 170,000 MILES AND CHEVY SHOULD STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT OF A KNOWN ISSUE. THERE HAVE BEEN FIXES BY CHEVY BUT NONE SEEM TO WORK. I NEVER FORMALLY FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHEVY OR DID OIL CONSUMPTION TEST( BUT THEY WOULDN'T HAVE IT IF THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM. I HAVE JUST FOLLOWED ISSUE ONLINE WAITING FOR A FIX. BUT , MOTOR DIED FIRST. MY DASH STARTED TO CRACK ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. IT STARTED WITH A SMALL CRACK NEAR THE AIRBAG; BUT HAS NOW HAS EXPANDED CAUSING THE AIRBAG COVER TO LIFT. THE DASH IS NOW CRACKED ON BOTH DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER SIDE. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE 3 YEARS AGO AND HAVE SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IN REGARDS TO FIXING THE PROBLEM AS IT SEEMS TO BE PROGRESSING OVER THE YEARS; BUT EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS ONLY WILLING TO COVER A PERCENTAGE.

I HAVE SEVERAL CRACKS THROUGHOUT MY DASH AND AM CONCERNED THAT I WILL HAVE ADDITIONAL DANGEROUS SHARP PLASTIC FRAGMENTS IN ADDITION TO METAL FRAGMENTS FROM THE OPEN AIR BAG RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN PROBLEM GM HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS. IN ADDITION, I ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ENGINE TEMPS HEATING UP TO WHERE THE AC GOES INTO FAIL SAFE THAT GM SAYS THEY CANNOT FIX EVEN AT MY EXPENSE. AFTER ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES RUNNING IN IDLE TO LAUNCH MY BOAT I CAME BACK TO FIND MY CHILDREN DIAPHORETIC IN THEIR CAR SEATS AND HAD TO USE MY SKILLS AS A PARAMEDIC TO COOL THEM DOWN DUE TO THE EXTREME TEMPERATURE IN THE VEHICLE. I CANNOT EVEN SIT IN DRIVE FOR A FEW MINUTES PICKING UP THE CHILDREN WITHOUT THIS HAPPENING. I PUT A TEMPORARY FIX ON WITH AN AFTERMARKET ELECTRIC FAN AFTER REPLACING THE FAN CLUTCH AND WHOLE COOLING SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE, PLUS 3 AC COMPRESSORS NOW TO BUY ME A FEW MORE MINUTES. GM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. I NOW ONLY USE THE VEHICLE IN THE WINTER WHEN THE CHILDREN ARE WITH ME FOR THEIR SAFETY.
