CHROME PEELING OFF OF INSIDE DOOR HANDLES HAS BECOME HAZARDOUS, WHICH CUT 2 OF MY FINGERS. I'M NOW AFRAID TO OPEN MY DOOR W/O GETTING CUT. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS AS A RECALL ITEM. *TR
DASH HAS BEEN CRACKING FOR 2-3 YEARS. DEALER REFUSES TO DOCUMENT OR REMEDY. SAYS VEHICLE IS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN IF THE AIR BAGS GO OFF OR IF A CHILD WAS TO REACH UP AND TOUCH THE CRACK. IT IS RAZOR SHARP. 3 CRACKS TOTAL. VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT AND NOT SITTING IN THE SUN.

AIRY, NC) @ 55K 59K & 60K GM IS UNWILLING TO MAKE REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY AT 121K STATING THAT NO NOTES WERE RECORDED OF INCIDENTS UPON PRIOR NOTIFICATION. DEALERSHIP STATED REPAIR REQUIRE PISTON REBUILD FOR $5100 GM REP APPROVED REPAIR FOR $1365. GM CUST CARE UNWILLING TO COVER REPAIR AND HAS DISREGARDED PRIOR DOCUMENTATION OF COMPLAINT AT 55K, 59K, & 60K. DEALERSHIP ARE AWARE OF PROBLEMATIC 5.3 STATING UPON DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE WITHOUT REVIEW OF RECORDS THAT VEHICLE IS 07. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING HOME WHEN A PERSON RAN A RED LIGHT AND HIT US. WE WERE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION ABOUT 15 MILES AN HOUR AND THEY HIT THE FRONT PART OF OUR SUBURBAN. EVERYTHING WAS DAMAGED THE HOOD , AND EVERYTHING INSIDE THE HOOD SUSTAINED DAMAGE. THERE WAS A LIQUID THAT WAS LEAKING BUT I AM UNAWARE OF THE SUBSTANCE. THE PERSON THAT HIT US MUST HAVE BEEN GOING ABOUT 40-60 MILES AN HOUR. AFTER THEY FLED THE SEEN POLICE MENTIONED THAT THEIR AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED. MY CONCERN WAS WHY OUR AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AS WELL. MY DAUGHTER AND I BOTH HIT OUR HEADS ON OUR SIDE WINDOWS. MY SON HAD SLIGHT INJURY MOSTLY FROM THE SEATBELT. MY SONS DOOR HAD TO BE OPENED FROM THE POLICE OFFICER ON THE SCREEN. MY BIGGEST CONCERN WAS ABOUT THE AIRBAGS AND ALSO THE ONSTAR DID NOT WORK AS WELL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER MOTOR FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REMEDY THE FAILURE BY REPLACING THE AIR CONDITIONER FAN MOTOR AND CONNECTOR CABLE, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR OF ELECTRICAL WIRES INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR LOGS GO UP AND DOWN, THE STABILITY CONTROL AND PARK ASSIST LIGHTS FLASH AS WELL AS THE IN DASH AUDIO SYSTEM. THE CAR LOOSES POWER. SCARED OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
THE ENTIRE DASH BOARD IS FULL OF CRACKS. SOME ARE ALL AROUND THE AIRBAG. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING VIOLENTLY AND THE STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL SENSOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE HAD BEEN THIRTY DIFFERENT CODES ON THE COMPUTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN VARIOUS AREAS. SPECIFIC AREA IS THE CRACKING NEXT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AREA. I AM SERIOUSLY WORRIED IF AN ACCIDENT WERE TO HAPPEN AND THE AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY THAT SHARDS OF PLASTIC COULD BE SENT FLYING THRU THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE
THE CHROME ON THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES IS SPLITTING CAUSING DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGERS TO CUT THEIR FINGERS WHILE OPENING THE DOORS TO EXIT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
THE DASHES OF ALL GM TRUCKS AND SUVS ARE CRACKING, BADLY. THEY'RE DESIGNED POORLY AND CRACK RIGHT AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SECTION. IN THE EVENT OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, IT WILL SEND JAGGED PLASTIC SHARDS TOWARDS THE OCCUPANTS. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE AND A SERIOUS HAZARD BUT GM REFUSES TO CORRECT THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED, HENCE I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT. IF YOU SIMPLY GOOGLE GM CRACKED DASH AND ENJOY ALL THE POSTS AND VIDEOS FROM FRUSTRATED AMERICANS. I HAVE 4 DAUGHTERS AND IT NOT RIGHT TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT ONE OF THE BEING INJURED BUT A FAULTY DASH PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT THEY COULD PROVIDE NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,000.
THE PLASTIC ON THE DASH AROUND THE AIR BAG HAS CRACKED. I AM AFRAID TO HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THE DASH IS GOING TO BREAK APART. *TR
TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING HAD BEEN SLIGHT VIBRATION SEVERAL MONTH PRIOR WHICH WAS REPORTED TO DEALER-HE SAID WHEEL BALANCE-DID NOT HELP ONLY 1ST AND 2ND GEAR WORKED. LOCAL DEALER QUOTED $2,800 TO REPLACE. DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR OVER A MONTH.GM OFFERED TO PAY 45%. I WOULD PAY $1540. WHEN PICKED UP CAR I HAD TO PAY $2300! TOLD THE WARRANTY FROM GM CAUSED THE PRICE TO GO UP. THE CAR STILL HAS A VIBRATION. A CAR WITH 80,000 MILES SHOULD NOT NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. *TR
WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN TO THE STARTING WITCH CONTROL IT JUST STARTS BUT ENGINE STALES RIGHT WAY , I CHANGE THE STARTER AND STILL THE NO GOOD NEED HELP THANKS. *TR
MY DASH BEGAN WITH A SMALL CRACK ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TOP OF THE AIRBAG. WE THEN HAD A VERY LONG CRACK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OVER THE HUMP. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT UNDER MY WARRANTY AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO ANOTHER LONG CRACK ON RIGHT SIDE OF AIRBAG DEVELOPED. AIRBAG IS PARTIALLY EXPOSED AND I FEEL IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM IN THESE AUTOMOBILES. THERE'S EVEN A FACEBOOK GROUP COMPLAINING OF THIS COMMON PROBLEM! *TR
OUR VEHICLE STARTED TO USE BETWEEN ONE QUART AND 2 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. AT SOMETIME BEFORE THIS THE HEATER STOPPED WORKING ON THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID. THE DVD PLAYER STOPPED WORKING AROUND 75,000 MILES. AT 79,0911 MILES THE SERVICE AIR BAGS LIGHT CAME ON. WE ARE NOT NEW TO OWNING SUBURBANS. THIS IS OUR FIFTH ONE. WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HAPPY WITH THEM, BUT THIS ONE HAS WAY TO MANY THINGS THAT ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU REGARDING RESOLVING THESE ISSUES. *TR
THE DASH ON MY 2007 SUBURBAN CRACKED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IN FRONT OF THE INSTRUMENT BEZEL AREA. THIS SAME EXACT CRACK HAS APPEARED ON HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF SUBURBAN, TAHOE, YUKON, YUKON XL, AND SILVERADO TRUCKS FOR THIS VEHICLE CYCLE. ALSO ON OTHER SIMILAR DASH PANELS AN ADDITIONAL CRACK HAS APPEARED BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. RECENTLY GM HAS REDESIGNED THE DASH SO THAT IT WILL NOT CRACK IN THESE AREAS, BUT THEY HAVE FAILED TO ISSUE ANY SORT OF RECALL TO THE CURRENT OWNERS WITH DEFECTIVE DASHES AND FIX THE DASH THAT COULD POSE A SAFETY RISK IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE HANDLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO FILED A REPORT AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE WHERE THEY REPLACED THE DASHBOARD, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND INDICATED THAT A CLIP FRACTURED AND THERE WAS A CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A THIRD TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, HEARD A LOUD NOISE-- THOUGHT INITIALLY A ROCK HAD HIT WINDSHIELD. WHEN STOPPED VEHICLE, NOTICED THAT THE DASH HAD CRACKED AT BOTH FRONT EDGES OF AIRBAG ON PASSENGER SIDE OF DASH. WENT TO LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, WAS TOLD NO WARRANTY AS VEHICLE PAST 36K MILEAGE LIMIT. I INQUIRED AS TO SAFETY OF THESE CRACKS, ASKING WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND "PIECES OF DASH WERE PROJECTED AT PASSENGERS". DEALER INDICATED NOTHING THEY COULD DO. *TR
2007 SUBURBAN VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP 25FT BEHIND SEVERAL STOPPED CARS AT A RED LIGHT. WITHOUT PROVOCATION, THE VEHICLE STRONGLY ACCELERATED/SURGED FORWARD WHILE THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED. DRIVER CONTINUED TO ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY REPEATEDLY HITTING THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT WITH NO SUCCESS. PASSENGER IN VEHICLE REPORTED SEEING DRIVERS FOOT ON THE BRAKE. VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH WAS THEN PUSHED INTO A THIRD. ALL THREE VEHICLES SUFFERED DAMAGE. AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY IN SUBURBAN DESPITE LEVEL OF IMPACT. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHEVROLET DEALER FOR COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC. RESULTS INCONCLUSIVE; NO DATA ERRORS RECORDED IN COMPUTERS AND NO APPARENT MECHANICAL ATTRIBUTE COULD BE FOUND RELATING TO VEHICLE ACTION. ACTION COULD NOT BE REPEATED BY TECHNICIAN. VEHICLE RELEASED TO OWNER. NO EXPLANATION COULD BE GIVEN AS TO THIS ACTION. DEALER DID NOT FOLLOW UP OR CONTINUE INVESTIGATION. *TR
THE DASH HAS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. ONE NEAR THE AIR BAG AND ONCE IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER. I WONDER WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR

MY SUBURBAN WONT SHIFT OR MOVE IN DRIVE OR IN 3RD. IT WILL GO IN TO 2ND AND 1ST AND REVERSE. IT JUST REVS UP WHEN IN DRIVE. I WAS READING ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION OR DEFECTIVE PARTS CAUSING THIS IN THE TRANSMISSION. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SUPPORT STRUTS ON THE REAR LIFT GATE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,467. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE REMEDY REPAIR FAILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 153,771.
I JUST GOT A CALL TODAY FROM MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE WHOLE REAR AXLE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND IF I DON'T REPLACE IT I COULD HAVE AN ACCIDENT . WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THIS REPLACE AT NO COST. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS ???? *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE CONSUMED AN EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LAMP CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AND STRONG FUMES CONTINUED TO ENTER THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I WAS PROCEEDING FROM AN INTERSECTION AND TURNING LEFT, I REACHED A SPEED OF 15-20 MPH AND THERE WAS A "BANG" AND A "CLUNK" AND THE POWER TO THE WHEELS WAS GONE, I COASTED TO THE ROADSIDE AND WAS UNABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN "D" DRIVE OR "3" IT WAS AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP HOME USING 1ST AND 2ND GEARS. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE FORWARD SPRAG COMPONENT. *TR
CRACK IN DASH AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DOOR. *KB
ON TWO OCCASIONS AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT READ "SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE" APPEARED ON THE DISPLAY. I MENTIONED THIS TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHILE THERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE, AND WAS TOLD THAT EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT OKAY, AND THAT I SHOULD DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN 2WD, NOT AUTO. ALSO, I HAVE BEEN HAVING A TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE ISSUE THAT STARTED BETWEEN 50,000 MILES AND 58,000 MILES AND WAS VERY SPORADIC. WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP (STOP LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE), THE TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T ENGAGE AS I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER 10 TO 15 SECONDS OF PRESSING MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD FINALLY ENGAGE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE SLOWLY WITH THE ENGINE REVVING. I MENTION THIS TO THE DEALER WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000 MILES AND I'M TOLD THAT THEY WILL NEED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW HOURS AND THERE IS A COST OF $120 PLUS TAX TO PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. AS MY SCHEDULE DID NOT ALLOW FOR THIS THAT DAY, I LEFT. THE PROBLEM WAS VERY SPORADIC AT THIS POINT. AT 63,000 MILES I AM DRIVING OVER A MOUNTAIN PASS AND THE DISPLAY READS SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING". I PULL OFF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR IT TO COOL, THEN MAKE MY WAY HOME. I ENTIRE TRIP HOME THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING BETWEEN ALL GEARS AND SHIFTING HARD IN THE HIGHER GEARS. I TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY AND I'M TOLD THAT I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I AM ADVISED BY THE DEALER THAT THERE IS "NO EXTERNAL CAUSE FOR THIS FAILURE" AND " THE INNER MECHANISM OF THE TRANSMISSION HAS FALLEN APART AND CANNOT BE REPAIRED". MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY ENDED 6 MONTHS AGO, SO I FACE A $3,350 BILL FOR THIS REPAIR. AFTER I COMPLAIN TO GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE, THEY AGREE TO PAY 30% OF THE REPAIR AND 5 DAYS OF THE RENTAL CAR, BUT I FEEL THEY SHOULD PAY THE ENTIRE AMOUNT. *TR
THE DOOR HANDLES HAVE CUT THREE MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY BECAUSE THE METAL IS PEELING OFF OF THE PLASTIC. SEAT BELTS ARE FALLING APART AND AT LEAST 3 OF THEM DO NOT LATCH AT ALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THERE DEFINITELY SHOULD BE A RECALL ESPECIALLY FOR THE SEAT BELTS. AIR BAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND THE DEALER OF COURSE WANTS TO "FIX" IT AND STATES THAT IF THERE IS A CRASH THAT IT MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY.........THIS AFTER I HAD THE TOP HALF OF THE ENGINE REBUILT DUE TO OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. THEN THERE IS THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR WHICH APPARENTLY HAS ISSUES AFTER HAVING NEW TIRES PUT ON MY CAR. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS HUNK OF JUNK. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CHEVY VEHICLE. *TR

THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER WAS REPLACED TWICE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. ALSO, THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES FRACTURED AND SEPARATED FROM THE DOOR FRAMES. THE DOOR HANDLES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE PARTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,164. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG GM OWNERS AND AN OBVIOUS POOR MANUFACTURE IN SEVERAL MODELS WITH A DEFINITE NEED TO REPLACE ALL THE INTERIOR HANDLES. THIS IS A HAZARD THAT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION ON OTHER MODELS AND I AM UNABLE TO SEE A RESOLUTION. IT APPEARS ALL THE INVESTIGATIONS HAVE BEEN CLOSED. *TR
ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO BAYSIDE CHEVROLET IN PRINCE FREDERICK, MD SEVERAL TIMES FOR REPAIRS BUT NEVER FIXED. FINAL TIME WAS PISTONS AND RINGS REPLACED. 13 MONTHS AND 23000 MILES LATER THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT HE WOULD SMELL GASOLINE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT A SENSOR FOR THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OF THE RADIO AND THEY STATED THAT THE COULD NOT LOCATE ANY ISSUES WITH THE RADIO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DASH CRACKED WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, I HAD IT REPLACED ONCE AND IT CRACKED AGAIN. IT HAS JUST GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE YEARS. IT NOW HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS ALL OVER THE DASH AND RATTLES WHEN YOU DRIVE DOWN THE STREET. NOT ONLY DOES IT POSE A SAFETY CONCERN BUT S ONE OF THE MOST ANNOYING THINGS EVER.
THE OIL WAS 1 1/2 QUARTS LOW AFTER ONLY 900 MILES. THEY FILLED IT UP AND AGAIN IN OCT, IT WAS 1 QUART LOW AFTER ONLY 700 MILES. I HAD A TERRIBLE FAMILY TRAGEDY IN DEC AND WAS UNABLE TO GET MY CONSUMPTION DOCUMENTED HOWEVER, I DID HAVE AN OIL CHANGE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY IT WAS NOT DOCUMENTED BUT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE OIL TAG WAS "MISSING" AND THAT THEY WERE STARTING A NEW TAG. IN FEB I WENT AGAIN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. ON APRIL 15TH MY OILING CAME ON STATING MY OIL WAS LOW AND NEEDED AN OIL CHANGE. ON APRIL 16TH I NOTICED MY TRUCK START TO HESITATE AND CHUG AFTER TAKING OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I THOUGH PERHAPS IT WAS BAD GAS. I USED THE REST OF THE TANK AND FILLED UP ON APRIL 18TH. ON APRIL 19TH I NOTICED IT WAS STILL HESITATING AND GETTING WORSE, NOW IT WAS NOT ONLY AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT WAS RANDOM AND MORE FREQUENT. THE MORNING OF APRIL 20TH I CALLED AL SERRA AND TOLD THEM I WAS SCARED AND FELT LIKE IT WAS A DANGER TO DRIVE MY 5 CHILDREN AROUND IN FEAR THAT WE WOULD LOSE POWER ON THE HIGHWAY OR GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE SERVICE REP STATED THEY COULD NOT GET MY TRUCK IN UNTIL TUESDAY. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THAT ANSWER AND VISITED A LOCAL MECHANIC. UPON MY ARRIVAL I TOLD MY MECHANIC THAT MY CAR WAS HESITATING AND LOSING POWER. THE MECHANIC TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND CAME BACK TO TELL ME THE OIL WAS BONE DRY. HE STATED THAT IF I HAD DRIVEN MUCH FURTHER, THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE SEIZED. HE WANTED ME TO HOW THE VEHICLE TO AL SERRA E NO HELP AND STRANDED WITH MY 5 CHILDREN. NOW, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY OF 2012. OF COURSE, MY FACTORY WARRANTY HAS NOW RUN OUT AND IT IS 3 MONTHS PAST THE WARRANTY OF THE REPAIRS THAT WERE MADE. HOWEVER, THE ONGOING PROBLEM WAS DOCUMENTED PRIOR, MUCH PRIOR, TO THE REPAIR WARRANTY RUNNING OUT. OIL CONSUMPTION GM IGNORING PROBLEM. *TR
I PURCHASED MY SUBURBAN WITH EXISTING GM WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD ROUGHLY 47,000 MILES ON IT AND 7 MONTHS REMAINING OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTY. AFTER ABOUT 900 MILES THE LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS ODD BECAUSE I CHECKED THE OIL LIFE GAUGE AFTER PURCHASE AND IT SAID IT WAS AT 99% OIL LIFE. THIS WORRIED ME. IT WAS ONE QUART LOW SO I ADDED IT AND DECIDED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. A MONTH LATER AT ABOUT 1000 MILES THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I ADDED ANOTHER QUART AND THEN WENT TO THE DEALER CLOSEST TO MY HOME TO REPORT THE ISSUE. THEY STARTED MONITORING. EACH TIME AT BETWEEN 900 AND 1400 THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS A QUART LOW. THEY BEGAN REMEDIATION. FIRST THE PVC/VALVE COVER REMEDIATION. THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEN NEXT THE OIL PAN RELATED REMEDIATION. THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE EITHER. NOW I KEEP HAVING TO TAKE THE SUBURBAN TO THE DEALER WHEN THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON, THEY ADD A QUART AND SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, FROM A LEGAL STAND POINT BECAUSE I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THE CAR IS OUT OF GM WARRANTY (REMEMBER I REPORTED THIS WHILE IT WAS UNDER GM WARRANTY AND REMINDED THEM OF THAT), THAT GM WON'T DO ANYTHING MORE FROM THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ISSUE. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED GM OR OPENED A CASE FILE AND WONT DO THAT. I WAS TOLD I WILL NEED TO PURSUE THAT ON MY OWN. THEY TRIED TO REACH OUT TO MY EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT SAY THEY ARE PUT ON HOLD FOR 10-15 MINUTES AND HAVE TO HANG UP BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO BUSY TO WAIT LONGER. I'VE CALLED THEM REPEATEDLY ASKING THAT A CASE BE OPENED WITH GM AS THIS WAS REPORTED UNDER WARRANTY AND IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THIS ENGINE (I'M OUT OF WARRANTY NOW) BUT THEY JUST KEEP GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. GM NEEDS TO DO A RECALL AND ADDRESS THESE ENGINES. *TR
DASH CRACKED IN THREE PLACES, TWO AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER, ONE DIRECTLY OVER STEERING WHEEL. *TR
WHEN TEST DRIVING THE SUBURBAN, THE SERVICE STABILITRAC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. WE LOOKED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND IT SAID TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS AND RESTART. IF THE LIGHTS DID NOT REAPPEAR THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM SO WE DID NOT SAY ANYTHING TO THE DEALERSHIP. A FEW DAYS AFTER TAKING DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE THE LIGHTS BEGAN TO COME ON REPEATEDLY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED A SENSOR THAT HAD TO DO WITH THE STEERING. EVERYTHING APPEARED TO BE NORMAL FOR ABOUT A MONTH, BUT THEN REAL PROBLEMS BEGAN TO HAPPEN. THE FIRST ADVERSE OCCURRENCE HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED, GOING STRAIGHT, AT APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE ENGAGED HARSHLY TWO TIMES IN RAPID SUCCESSION, THEN THE SERVICE STABILITRAC AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. I DID NOT TOUCH THE BRAKE AND WAS NOT ACCELERATING. I TOOK IT TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING WEEK AND THEY HAD IT FOR THREE DAYS TRYING TO ISOLATE THE PROBLEM. THEY EVEN SENT IT HOME WITH A SHOP FOREMAN OVERNIGHT. HOWEVER, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH EITHER OF THE SYSTEMS. AS I WAS LEAVING THEIR LOT BOTH LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN, BUT WITHOUT THE HARSH BRAKING. TWO DAYS LATER (TODAY) MY FAMILY AND I WERE BEGINNING TO ENTER AN ENTRANCE RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY (AGAIN AT ABOUT 25-30 MPH) AND THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE ENGAGED THREE TIMES IN RAPID SUCCESSION HARD ENOUGH TO MAKE THE TIRE SQUEAL EACH TIME. A CAR WAS DIRECTLY BEHIND ME AND SKIDDED TO KEEP FROM RUNNING INTO THE REAR END OF THE SUBURBAN. MY WIFE AND I AND FOUR CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE. NOW I AM AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE IT. IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD PROBABLY OVERTURN. I WILL BE CALLING THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY OPEN IN THE MORNING. *TR

IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS WE'VE HAD 1) THE STABILITRAC/TCS/CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON2) HARD SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR 3) ABNORMAL IDLING 4) CAR LURCHING WHEN STARTED AND DOORS LOCKING ON THEIR OWN WHEN THIS HAPPENED 4) VEHICLE STEERING LOCKING UP 5) AND SLUGGISH ACCELERATION. 8/29/11--VEHICLE IS AT DEALER FOR THE 2ND TIME FOR THE CHECK ENGINE/TCS/STABILITRAC LIGHT....MANY MORE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ON EDMUNDS, HOWEVER DEALER WASN'T INTERESTED IN THE DETAILS UNLESS THERE WAS A FIX, HOWEVER I HAD NOT COMPLETED READING ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS YET...
NOTICED A SMALL CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD NEAR AIRBAG. CRACK SPREAD AND NOW HAVE A TRIANGULAR SHAPED HOLE IN THAT SPOT. ANOTHER CRACK, MUCH LARGER, HAS NOW APPEARED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD. *JS
I AM FILING THIS COMPLIANT ABOUT THE CRACKED DASH ON MY 2007 CHEVY REGENCY SUBURBAN, WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2008. THIS DASH HAS BEEN CRACKED FOR OVER 7 YEARS NOW. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE DEALERSHIP (RELIABLE CHEVROLET) IN DALLAS, TX TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST ME SOMEWHERE AROUND $1,500 TO DO SO. THERE ARE 2 CRACKS NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG EDGES THEN A MASSIVE HOLE OVER THE CONSOLE BECAUSE THE ENTIRE TOP OF THE CONSOLE HAS CRACKED TO INTO PIECES. LIKEWISE, THE FRONT PANEL OF THE CONSOLE, INSIDE THE VENT AREA HAS CRACKED AND FALLEN ABOUT. I AM SCARED FOR MYSELF, WIFE, KIDS AND ANY OTHER INNOCENT PASSENGER(S) ALONG FOR THE RIDE BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAGS DO DEPLOY, THERE IS A HUGE POSSIBILITY PLASTIC SHARDS WILL FLY INTO THEIR FACES CAUSING SEVERE FACIAL DAMAGE AND OR POSSIBLE DEATH.
I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT THERE ARE SO MANY COMMENTS ABOUT BURNING OIL ON THE SUBURBAN. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW IN 2007 WITH 0 MILES. IN 2011 WHEN HAD MY USUAL OIL CHANGED AND NOTICED THAT WITHIN 1 MONTH MY INDICATOR CAME ON THAT THE OIL WAS LOW AND TO ADD OIL. I WENT BACK TO THE LOCATION WHERE I HAD IT CHANGED AND COMPLAINED THAT THEY DIDN'T PROPERLY FILL THE OIL. THE ARGUED THAT THEY DID AND I WAS WRONG. THEY THEN PUT 2 QUARTS IN AND I WENT ON MY WAY. A MONTH LATER, AGAIN, THE SAME ISSUE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED IT AND THEY SAID THAT THE REASON THE CAR WAS BURNING OIL WAS BECAUSE I SHOULD USE A DIFFERENT WEIGHT OF OIL DURING THE HOT TEXAS SUMMER MONTHS. EVER SINCE THIS TIME MY CAR BURNS OIL NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF OIL I PUT IN. NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR - HOT OR COLD. I KEEP EXTRA QUARTS IN THE BACK FOR EMERGENCIES. WHEN I START THE ENGINE ON MOST DAYS, BUT NOT ALL DAYS, A WHITE PUFF OF SMOKE COMES FROM THE EXHAUST. THE DEALER INSISTS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. IT'S OBVIOUS BASED ON OTHER CONSUMER COMMENTS THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. AT ABOUT 100K THE TIRE SENSOR WENT AND NOW AT 113K ANOTHER TIRE SENSOR IS GONE AS WELL AS THE DRIVER SIDE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS. TYPICALLY WHEN I TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED IT RUNS AT LEAST $1000. I WAS PLANNING FOR THIS CAR TO LAST AT LEAST ANOTHER 50K MILES. WE'LL SEE... *TR
IN NOVEMBER 1008 THE DRIVER'S SIDE OUTSIDE CHROME DOOR HANDLE BEGAN COMING LOOSE FROM THE DOOR. IT WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY, FAILED PART #25960525. NOW, IN JUNE 2011, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE OUTSIDE CHROME DOOR HANDLE IS COMING LOOSE FROM THE DOOR. WILL TAKE IT TO THE DEALER WHEN WE RETURN FROM A SCHEDULED TRIP. *TR
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS PROBLEMATIC FOR YEARS. THE DISPLAY WOULD LIGHT AND MESSAGE CENTER WOULD INDICATE ALL TIRES WERE LOW WHEN NONE WERE BY CHECK OF ACCURATE GAUGE. THIS PROBLEM HAS FINALLY BEEN ADDRESSED AT LEAST TEMPORARILY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS STAY ON. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO SHOP AND DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. TESTS HAVE BEEN RUN AND THE CODES RESET, TO NO AVAIL. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND VEHICLE PERFORMANCE SEEMS NORMAL, HOWEVER, THE WARNING LIGHT REMAINS USELESS FOR ANY "REAL" PROBLEM. PLEASE CONSIDER THE LOW MILEAGE (CURRENTLY 18,224) WHEN CONSIDERING PROBLEMS. *TR
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION - AT LEAST 1QT PER 1K MILES SOMETIMES MORE. CHEVY EVENTUALLY FIXED THIS UNDER WARRANTY AFTER PROVING OUT THE CONSUMPTION. CHEVY CORPORATE IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM IN THESE TRUCKS AND HAS NOT ONLY WRITTEN IT UP, BUT HAS DESIGNED A FIX FOR IT, DEALER STATES CHEVY CORP DECLINED TO ISSUE A RECALL BECAUSE IT'S A $1600 REPAIR. THE ISSUE IS TWO-FOLD. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE VALVES NOT SEALING CORRECTLY AND OIL IN THE OIL PLAN SPLASHING UP ONTO THE CYLINDER WALLS FASTER THAN THE RINGS CAN REMOVE IT. WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THEY DID SOME WORK TO THE VALVE TRAIN, REPLACED FOULED SPARK PLUGS AND ADDED SOME TYPE OF BAFFLE TO THE OIL PAN. FIX IMPROVED POWER, FUEL CONSUMPTION AND REDUCED OIL CONSUMPTIONS TO NORMAL LEVELS. TRUCK NOW RUNS LIKE NEW. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING THIS GO TO CHEVY AND DEMAND THE FIX. YOU'LL NEED TO PROVE THE OIL CONSUMPTION EITHER THROUGH OIL CHANGE LOGS, OR AS I DID - WHICH WAS TO DO AN OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALER, HAVE THE OIL PLUGS SEALED BY THE DEALER, THEN DRIVE IT 6,000 MILES - HAVING THE DEALER REFILL THE OIL WHEN LOW TO TRACK CONSUMPTION. THEY WON'T WANT TO FIX THIS BECAUSE IT'S SO EXPENSIVE BUT DEMAND THE REPAIR UNDER THE WARRANTY. *TR
