THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED AT THE FRONT LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. IT HAS ALSO CRACKED AT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THESE CRACKS ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNING, ESPECIALLY IF I AM IN A CRASH. I AM CERTAIN THAT THE CRACK NEAR THE AIRBAG WILL EXPAND AND CREATE SHARDS OF PLASTIC OR WORSE, PREVENT THE AIRBAG FROM DEPLOYING PROPERLY.
2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO THE DISAPPOINTMENT IN THE MANUFACTURER DUE TO NUMEROUS VEHICLE REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD RUN ROUGH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE SERVICE STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHEN SOME OF THE CYLINDERS SHUT DOWN, THE LIFTERS WERE NOT PROPERLY LUBRICATED, CAUSING THEM TO FAIL. THE ENGINE CONSUMED LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL. THERE WERE NOISES COMING FROM THE OIL PAN AND TRANSMISSION AREA, 3 OF THE 4 DOOR LOCKS ACTUATORS WERE REPLACED, THE REAR LIFTGATE BROKE FOR THE 4TH TIME, THE RIGHT RETRACTABLE MIRROR WAS INOPERABLE, THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKED ABOUT 505 OF THE TIME, WHICH WAS PROBABLY TIED THE THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR GOING BAD AS WELL. ALSO, THE VEHICLE HAD SIGNIFICANT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, WHERE CERTAIN LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD, THERE WAS AN AUDIBLE CLICKING NOISE, THAT SOUNDED LIKE A RELAY FIRING VERY QUICKLY. *JB
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. RATTLES, MAKES A LOT OF CABIN NOISE AND IS DISTRACTING. NOT A SAFETY ISSUE PER SE. BUT DASH WAS CRACKED NOW FOR MANY YEARS. WHAT IS GM'S POSITION ON REPLACING DASHBOARD?
DASH IS CRACKING INTO PIECES THAT WOULD BE DANGEROUS SHRAPNEL IN THE EVENT OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING.
THERE IS A CRACK ON THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD ALONG THE SIDE OF THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG. *TR
DOOR HANDLES ARE ALL COMING OFF ON EXTERIOR OF VEHICLE ON BOTH OF THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER DOORS. *TR
I CUT MY FINGER ON THE INTERIOR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WHEN EXITING MY VEHICLE LAST WEEKEND. THE METAL LIFTED, MAKING AN EXTREMELY SHARP EDGE. I EMAILED CHEVROLET ON SATURDAY IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON, BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM YET. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, AND I AM NOT SURE HOW TO PROCEED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! *TR
REAR WINDOW SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. REAR DEFROSTERS WERE NOT ON AT THIS TIME BUT HAD BEEN ON EARLIER THAT MORNING, OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 32 DEGREES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO SHATTERED GLASS WAS SENT INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHERE CHILDREN SIT. *TR
WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN REAR DOOR, IT WOULD NOT OPEN, DUE TO DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY GOING BAD. ONLY KNOWING THIS IS A PROBLEM AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH. NOW I DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN DOOR AT ALL, THE MANUAL SWITCH STILL WORKS, BUT I SYMPATHY FOR THEM THAT DON`T. I CAN JUST IMAGINE IF I HAD TO GET A CHILD OR A HANDICAPPED ADULT FROM THE BACK SEAT IN A HURRY AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FOR ME TO DO SO. I HAVE READ ON SOME OTHER SITES THAT GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND KNOW THE PART IS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE ALSO RESEARCHED ENOUGH TO KNOW THERE IS A NEW PART NUMBER FOR THE OEM PART. SO IF THEY KNOW IT IS JUNK, MAKE IT RIGHT. A HUMANS LIFE OVER A HAND FULL OF MONEY. NOT TOUGH FOR SOMEONE WITH FEELINGS TO MAKE. MY 2008 SUBURBAN STARTED BURNING A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF OIL. SEEMS LIKE I WAS CONTINUOUSLY ADDING OIL. RAISED THE ISSUE WITH THE DEALER, WHO INDICATED IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT PROBABLY NOT WORTH THE EXPENSE OF FIXING IF I COULD KEEP CHECKING THE OIL. THIS ADVICE WAS ALSO BASED ON THE FACT THAT ALL MY MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED AT THIS DEALER, SO THEY KNOW THE VEHICLE WELL. THE LAST WEEK IN JANUARY WAS VERY BUSY AND SAW ME DRIVING ABOUT 100 MILES A DAY. ON THURSDAY, ABOUT 30 MILES FROM HOME, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS STARTING BLINKING, THE CAR LOST POWER, AND THE ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH. THIS WAS ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY (U.S. ROUTE 50 NEAR ANNAPOLIS) DURING RUSH HOUR. THIS CREATED A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR HOME. WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THE OIL WAS DRY (I HAD CHECKED IT THE PREVIOUS WEEKEND), A LIFTER HAD BROKEN, AND A PISTON HEAD WAS SCORED. THE COST OF WORK TO FIX WOULD EXCEED THE COST OF A NEW ENGINE. I NOW HAVE A NEW ENGINE, THE COST OF WHICH WAS NOT IN MY BUDGET. THIS EXPERIENCE REFLECTS WHAT HAS BEEN HAVE REPORTED FREQUENTLY ON AUTOMOBILE RELATED WEB SITES.. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, CHEVROLET SHOULD BE COVERING AT LEAST PART OF THIS FIX. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK OR DRIVE, ALL FOUR DOORS FAILED TO UNLOCK AND THE KEY FOB FAILED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE, STABILITY TRACK DISENGAGE, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL SPILLED AND CAUSED THE SPARK PLUGS TO FAIL. THE SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
COMPLAINT TO DOCUMENT A SAFETY ISSUE ON A 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN. SHARP EDGES ON INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES TO THE HANDS OF PASSENGERS. THE CHROME FINISH IS DELAMINATING FROM THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES CAUSING SHARP KNIFE LIKE EDGES AS NOTED ON SEVERAL 2007 GM MODELS IN DEFECT INVESTIGATION REPORT EA10004. MY 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBED IN THE PREVIOUS INVESTIGATION. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED BY THE SHARP EDGES ON THE DOOR HANDLES IN MY 2008 SUBURBAN WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THE SHARP EDGES HAVE CAUSED DEEP CUTS TO THE HANDS OF MY WIFE, AND HER MOTHER, AS WELL AS MINOR CUTS TO OTHERS. THERE IS A VERY SERIOUS POTENTIAL FOR INFECTION AND TRANSMISSION OF DISEASE BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF BLEEDING FROM THESE INJURIES. DOORS HANDLES INHERENTLY CARRY GERMS, AND BECAUSE THE INJURIES ARE CAUSED BY THESE DOOR HANDLES, THE RISK IS CONSIDERABLY HIGHER. BASED ON THE RESEARCH I HAVE PERFORMED ON THE SUBJECT, THIS IS A MUCH MORE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAN PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED, AND IS NOT ISOLATED TO 2007 MODELS ALONE. I HAVE FILE A COMPLAINT THE GM CUSTOMER SERVICE IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE MATTER. IF GM IS UNWILLING TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE DANGEROUS HANDLES, THEN I WILL REPLACE THE HANDLES TO PREVENT FURTHER INJURIES AT MY OWN EXPENSE. *TR

DASHBOARD CRACKED ON PASSENGER SIDE AT TOP LEFT CORNER OF AIRBAG AS WELL AS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BEHIND THE INSTRUMENTATION PANEL. CRACKED APPEARS OVER TIME, AT 48,000 MILES AND 62,000 MILES, GM SAID THEY WOULD PRO - RATE THE COST THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY BUT AFTER 100,000 MILES THE REPAIR WOULD BE ON ME TOTALLY.
THE WHEEL BEARINGS ON THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BECAME UNSEALED. WE WERE DRIVING ON A FOUR-LANE HIGHWAY. THE ANTILOCK BREAKING AND STABILITRACK WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. WE DID NOT KNOW WHY. WE CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME ON THE INTERSTATE WITH ABOUT 100 MILES TO GO. THE CAR STEERING BECAME INTERMITTENTLY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. EVENTUALLY WE STOPPED WHEN THE CAR WAS PULLING DRASTICALLY TO THE RIGHT AND THE WHEEL WELL WAS SMOKING. AT THIS POINT THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS POINTED TOWARD A RIGHT TURN WHILE THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WAS POINTED DIRECTLY FORWARD. WE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP. AFTER NEW BEARINGS WERE INSTALLED, CALIPERS REPLACED, ETC., THE MAINTENANCE PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THERE WAS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE SAME THING WOULD HAPPEN TO THE OTHER FRONT WHEEL. NEVERTHELESS, THE SAME THING DID HAPPEN TO THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL SIX MONTHS LATER 800 MILES FROM HOME EXCEPT THE SEALED BEARINGS MADE A "CLUNK" SOUND WHEN IT HAPPENED AS WE BACKED OUT OF A PARKING LOT. WE INVESTIGATED THE LOCATION OF CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS AND DROVE THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. *TR
BRITAX FASTBACK CAR SEAT PUSH BUTTON LATCH STUCK. COULDN'T RELEASE EVEN WITH TWO PEOPLE TRYING TO PUSH THE RED BUTTON. FINALLY HAD TO GET SCISSORS TO CUT THE STRAP TO REMOVE THE CHILD (RELATED VEHICLE INFORMATION: MODEL YEAR=2008, MAKE=SUBURBAN, MODEL=CHEVY). *TR
LAST YEAR 2012, THE SUBURBAN WAS BLOWING SMOKE OUT TAILPIPE, LESS THAN 100K MILES, SO DEALERSHIP INSTALLED NEW VALVE COVER WITH PROPER GROMMIT FOR PCV UNDER WARRANTY. SEPT. 2013 115K MILES, ENGINE BUCKING, DASH LIGHTS ALL ON, RUNNING ON 7 CYLINDERS, CHEVY DEALERSHIP STATES #1 SPARK PLUG "CAME OUT". AND THAT OIL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS BAD, BUT STILL PRESSURE, SO NOT URGENT....NOV 19, 2013 - TRUCK NOW MAKING 'BACK FIRE' NOISES AND PRESSURE SENSOR MOVING BACK AND FORTH ACROSS 40....AFRAID WILL BREAK DOWN AGAIN. ALSO, HAVE PEELING CHROME ON INSIDE DOOR HANDLES LIKE PRIOR COMPLAINT, THAT IS CUTTING HANDS/FINGERS! *TR
TPS throttle position system. I’ve had issues since 2013 to present time. The car accelerates and decelerates on its own. I have replaced more than once car is not safe to drive. Need help asap
TORT CONVERTER ON TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT...HAD TO REPLACE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AT 135,000 MILES. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHT, DOOR LOCKS, TRACTION CONTROL, RADIO, AND MANY OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FLICKER ON AND OFF. ENGINE VIBRATES AND THEN DIES. WILL NOT START BACK UP UNTIL SOME PERIOD OF TIME GOES BY. ALWAYS DIFF AND HAPPENS IN ALL TEMPS AND DRIVING CONDITIONS. WHEN IN GARAGE ALL NIGHT WILL NOT START IN THE AM. VERY INTERMITTENT. WE HAVE BEEN STRANDED WITH KIDS 5 TIMES AND HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND A TAPPING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AS THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE CAM SHAFT LIFTERS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDUELD FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN LTZ ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2011. SHORTLY THEREAFTER I BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE SEEMS TO BEHAVE ERRATICALLY, I LATER LEARNED THE CAR BURNED OIL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IN JANUARY OF 2013 COMPLAINING OF OIL STAINS ON MY DRIVEWAY AND THAT I HAD PLACED TWO QUARTS OF OIL IN MY CAR WITHIN ONE WEEK. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED TO ME THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE ABOUT $4,000-$5,000 OF REPAIRS DONE TO REBUILD MY ENGINE. THEY ALSO EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS A WARRANTY ITEM AND THAT GM WOULD COVER IT. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT GM TOLD THEM THAT I HAD TO GO THROUGH AN "OIL CONSUMPTION TEST" WHICH I DID, THEY PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE ON JANUARY 31, 2013. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE ON FEBRUARY 19, 2013 AND THE DEALER NOTES THAT IT HAS BURNED .75 (3/4) OF A QUART OF OIL. WHEN I ASKED IF GM WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM, THEY SAID NO, THAT ANOTHER TEST WAS NEEDED. I'VE NEVER PURCHASED OR OWNED A CAR WHERE BURNING OIL IS ACCEPTABLE. I BRIEF GOOGLE SEARCH OF "SUBURBAN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES" RESULTS IN APPROXIMATELY 2.8 MILLION RESULTS AND THERE ARE SEVERAL PAGES DISCUSSING THIS APPARENT COMMON PROBLEM. I CALLED GM ON FEBRUARY 19, 2013 AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO SPEAK WITH [XXX] AND A SUPERVISOR IN THE PHILIPPINES WHO ASSIGNED ME A CASE NUMBER I BELIEVE THIS IS A LARGE PROBLEM AND WANT A RECALL AND FIX. THERE IS A CRACK ON TOP OF THE DASHBOARD THAT HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY LARGER. RECENTLY A SECOND CRACK APPEARED RIGHT OVER THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS MAY INTERFERE WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH 2007 AND 2008 CHEVY WITH SAME DASHBOARD (TAHOE, SUBURBAN, ET AL.) MODELS. *TR
THE DASH ON MY 2008 SUBURBAN CRACKED AT AROUND 70,000 MILES, IN 2012. I REPORTED IT THEN TO BOTH MY DEALER AND GM. THEY CALLED THIS A COSMETIC ISSUE AND THAT THEY WERE CLEARLY NOT RESPONSIBLE, HOWEVER, MANY MANY OTHER SUBURBANS, TAHOES, SLIVERADOS, AND TRUCKS HAVE THE VERY SAME ISSUE AND AT EXACTLY THE SAME SPOTS AROUND THE AIRBAG. THE CRACKS ARE AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, SUCH THAT, IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY, SHARP PLASTIC SHRAPNEL WOULD FLY INTO THE PASSENGER'S FACE. THIS IS A DEADLY SAFETY CONCERN THAT I TAKE EXTREMELY SERIOUS, SUCH THAT THE SITUATION BECOMES GM IS LITERALLY AND DIRECTLY THREATENING THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. PICTURES ARE ATTACHED WHICH SHOW THE SAFETY DEFECT ADJACENT TO THE AIRBAG. PLEASE HELP PUSH GM WITH ADDRESSING THIS SERIOUS DEFICIENCY.
FAILURE OF POWER ASSISTED DOOR LOCKS. DOORS WILL NOT OPEN WITH POWER SWITCH. SOLENOID HAS BURNT OUT. GM HAS RECOGNIZED PROBLEM WITH FAULTY PARTS MANUFACTURED IN CHINA. REPLACED FIRST SOLENOID THAT WAS CLOSE TO BEING UNDER WARRANTY. THE THREE OTHER UNITS THAT HAVE NOW FAILED WILL COST $90.00 EACH TO REPLACE. THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED WITH THE NTSB AND GM BUT THE REFUSE TO DO A MANUFACTURERS RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR HATCH LOCK WAS NOT OPERABLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A MANUAL RELEASE BUTTON. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY OR FIRE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 5.3L AFM OIL CONSUMPTION --> EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED WITH GM SERVICE GIVEN ME THE RUNAROUND REGARDING A POOR ENGINE DESIGN WHICH LEADS TO BAD RINGS AND HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION. BAD RINGS CAN BE VERIFIED BY DOING A COMPRESSION CHECK ON THE CYLINDER, AS OPPOSED TO CHECKING HOW MUCH OIL IS BEING USED PER MILEAGE. EXCESSIVE USAGE IS DEFINE 0.5 QUARTS PER 500 MILES. LAST THREE OIL CHANGES, I HAVE USE 6 QUARTS IN 3000 MILES. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY, AND THEY ARE TRYING TO DELAY THE PROBLEM UNTIL IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THERE IS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS ONLINE. THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE PISTONS AND RINGS AND AFM LIFTERS AND ADD THE NEW OIL BAFFLE. *TR

DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAIL CAUSING DOORS TO REMAIN LOCKED AND INOPERABLE. SEVERAL ACCOUNTS ON THE INTERNET CLAIM MULTIPLE FAILURES AT THE SAME TIME AND OR REPLACED ACTUATORS FAILING A SECOND TIME. VEHICLE CAN NOT BE ENTERED OR EXITED EASILY IN AN EMERGENCY CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
REAR HATCH DOOR ACTUATOR WENT OUT. THE DOOR IS IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND CANNOT BE OPENED WITH CONSOLE BUTTON, KEY FOB OR EXTERIOR HANDLE. THERE IS NO WAY TO OPEN THE REAR HATCH FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR PASSENGERS RIDING IN THE 3RD SEAT. THE REAR HATCH IS NOT ACCESSIBLE FOR USE SINCE I IS IN A LOCKED POSITION AND CANNOT BE OPENED. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GM. THEIR CS REPRESENTATIVE CONTACTED ME TO LET ME KNOW THAT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP CAN FIX THE PROBLEM AT MY EXPENSE. TENS OF THOUSANDS OF THESE COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED WITH GM OVER THE LAST 2 YRS. I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN MAY 2013 WITH 76,000 MILES AS A CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE FROM A GM DEALERSHIP IN NJ. I NOTICED ON TEST DRIVE BRAKE VIBRATION FROM THE FRONT. BEFORE I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE THEY REPLACED NEW ROTORS AND CERAMIC BRAKE PADS. NOW AT 17,000 MILES LATER THERE IS VIBRATION AGAIN, ONCE AGAIN THE ROTORS ARE WARPED BUT THE PADS ARE PERFECTLY FINE. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME AND I QUOTE "IT MUST HAVE BEEN A HOT DAY AND YOU TOOK THE CAR THROUGH A CAR WASH WARPING THE ROTORS." IF GM IS MAKING THEIR ROTORS WITH NON-VIRGIN STEEL THIS CAN HAPPEN. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY OWNED A 2005 SUBURBAN WITH 100,000 MILES, THE ROTORS NEVER WARPED AND I ONLY NEEDED THEM CHANGED ONCE AT 55,000 MILES, I HAVE A LIGHT FOOT. IN 2010 I CHANGED MY 2005 SUBURBAN FOR A 2009 BUICK ENCLAVE THIS CAR WAS THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IN THE 3 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP THAT I NEEDED ROTORS TWICE, IN 3 YEARS I HAD ONLY PUT 30,000 MILES ON THE CAR, SO THAT LEAD TO THE PURCHASE OF THE 2008 SUBURBAN. I CAN'T HELP BUT BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG IN THE MAKING OF THEIR ROTORS, THEY CHANGED MANUFACTURER MAYBE?? WITH THIS 2008 SUBURBAN I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED THEM WITH NO ANSWER OR REPLY TO THE FACT WHEN MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WHO WEIGHS 108LBS SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON ONE MINUTE AND THEN OFF THE NEXT MINUTE. SOMETIME I CAN PUT MY PURSE AND A GALLON OF MILK ON THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON WILL DISPLAY. YET MY 108 LB CHILD OR MY 86 LB CHILD THE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL GO FROM ON TO OFF. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND CHEVROLET WILL NOT TAKE OWNERSHIP THAT THIS IS A A MAJOR DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING. THESE DASHBOARDS CRACKING AND NOW THE SAFETY COVER FOR MY AIR BAG IS POPPING UP. I AM AFRAID THAT THE AIRBAG WILL FALSELY DEPLOY. I HAVE FOUR KIDS THAT TAKE TURNS IN THE FRONT SEAT WERE THIS CAN BE A BIG ISSUE. NOT ONLY THAT, IF WE DO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THE DASHBOARD FRAGMENTS CAN BREAK OFF AND IMPALE SOMEONE. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BEFORE INJURIES OCCUR. I HAVE PICTURES IF U WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM. REAR HATCH FAILURE. ELECTRIC OPENING. OPENED 24 INCHES AND THEN CLOSED UNDER MOTOR POWER. CAUGHT DOG IN THE DOOR THOUGH NO SERIOUS HARM DONE. HOWEVER IT DID NOT REVERSE AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN IT COMES DOWN ON AN OBJECT LIKE A CHILD OR DOG. DEALER REPLACED STRUTS WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW. IT WAS JUST LUCKY IT ONLY CAUGHT THE DOG'S TAIL. IF IT HAD CAUGHT HER HEAD, SHE WOULD BE DEAD. *JS

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE SEALS, CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE THROTTLE BODY. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND PERSISTED. THE DEALER THEN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE ENGINE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 147,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CRACKED DASHBOARD. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN 5 PLACES, WHICH IS QUITE A SAFETY CONCERN. IF AIRBAGS WERE TO GO OFF, SHARP CHARDS OF PLASTIC WOULD COME FLYING. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I NOTICED FIRST CRACK 5 YEARS AGO, ALL THE OTHERS HAVE COME YEARLY AFTER THAT.
THE DASH STARTED CRAKING BY THE AIR BAG WHLE PARK IN THE GARAGE AND A COPLE OF WEEKS LATER ANOTHER CRACK APPEAR ON TOP OF THE CLUSTER.
ON FOUR OCCASSIONS, THIS VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING - HAS HAPPENED ON FOUR OCCASSIONS ANNUALLY WITHIN THE MONTH: 12/2009; 12/2010; 01/2011; 01/2012. ON EACH OCASSION, THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THROTTLE BODY UNDER WARRANTY. PROBLEM DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN FIXED AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. *TT
DRIVING THE CAR ON CITY STREET, LET OFF GAS TO SLOW DOWN, ENGINE SHUDDERS, THE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE FLASHES, INDICATES ENGINE POWER DECREASING, THE RADIO STOPS WORKING, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER, THE STABILITRAC INDICATES IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICED, GIVES REAR CAMERA/TOWING WARNING, THE ENGINE DIES, BRAKES ARE LOST. I WAS DRIVING ON 7TH AVE AND A CAR RAN A STOP SIGN AT AN INTERSECTION. IT WAS DARK EARLY MORNING. I HIT THE CAR COMING ACROSS AND DROVE IT INTO A TREE.THE DRIVER IN THE CAMRY HAD TO BE CUT OUT OF HER CAR . MY CAR HAD THE FRONT END SEVERELY DAMAGED. ALMOST $10,000 DAMAGE TO MY CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT ACTIVATE. I ASKED THE BODY SHOP DOING THE WORK AND THE STATE FARM INSURANCE CLAIMS PERSON ABOUT WHY THEY DID NOT WORK AND WAS TOLD THE ACCIDENT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SEVERE ENOUGH OR THE ANGLE WE HIT DID NOT REQUIRE THEM TO DEPLOY. THE DRIVER IN THE OTHER CAR WENT TO THE HOSPITAL. AND I HAD KNEE SURGERY. I DO NOT KNOW THE STATUS OF HER INJURIES. I WONDER WHY MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT SUCH A COLLISION AND IF THERE ARE OTHER SUBURBANS OUT THERE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THE OWNER JUST DOESN'T KNOW OR WON'T KNOW TIL A COLLISION. *TR
