ALL 4 AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKING ACTUATORS DO NOT WORK. THE ACTUATORS DO NOT WORK WHEN THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON IS PRESSED ON THE REMOTE. LOCKS DO NOT ACTUATE WHEN THE CAR IS PUT INTO PARK OR WHEN THE SPEED IS ATTAINED THAT IS SET IN THE SYSTEM SETTINGS. THE ONLY WAY TO LOCK/UNLOCK THE DOORS IS TO MANUALLY PUSH OR PULL THE DOOR LOCK. YOU CAN ALSO UNLOCK THE DRIVERS SIDE LOCK BY USING THE KEY. THIS IS UNSAFE. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS ALWAYS USED AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. MUST ADD AT LEAST ONE QUART BETWEEN EACH 3500 MILE OIL CHANGES. NO LEAKS HAVE BEEN DETECTED AND NOTHING SEEMS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. *TR
AFTER DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS THE PROBLEM BEGAN: THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLE REPEATEDLY, THE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE FLASHES, THE DRIVE POSITION FLASHES FROM PARK TO DRIVE REPEATEDLY, THE RADIO STOPS WORKING, THE VEHICLE SURGES, AND THE STABILITRAC SAYS IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. THIS IS THE SECOND REPORT WE HAVE FILED IN A MONTH. WE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE FOR THIS PROBLEM IN EARLY AUGUST WHEN IT WAS JUST THE RADIO MALFUNCTIONING. THEY SAID TO REPLACE THE RADIO. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN IDENTIFIED BY NHTSA ITEM NUMBER 10036550 AND SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER PIT-4730A. GM SAYS THAT BECAUSE OUR VEHICLE IS OUT OF FACTORY WARRANTY THAT THEY WILL NOT PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. *TR
BOTH DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CHROME PLATING ON DOOR HANDLES PEELING OFF. MY FINGER HAS BEEN CUT MULTIPLE TIMES BY THE PEELING "CHROME". THE CUT IS SIMILAR TO SEVERE PAPER CUT. MY HUSBAND HAS ALSO CUT FINGERS ON THE DOOR HANDLES. I HAVE TWO VERY SMALL CHILDREN AND WORRY ABOUT THEM CUTTING THEIR FINGERS ON IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500 WITH BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/L ALENZA TIRES, SIZE 275/55R20, DOT NUMBER: X2AEH56407. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE SLOWLY DEFLATED, CAUSING THE THREAD TO SEPARATE FROM THE TIRE. THE VEHICLE THEN ROLLED OFF THE ROAD AND FLIPPED OVER TWICE, CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGES TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE POLICE WAS CALLED WHO ADVISED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ASKED THE CONTACT TO RETURN THE TIRES BUT THE CONTACT REFUSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRE AND THE VEHICLE WAS 48,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL THE ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCKS WOULD UNLOCK AND LOCK INVOLUNTARILY. IN ORDER TO PROPERLY USE THE DOOR LOCKS, THEY HAD TO BE OPERATED MANUALLY. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS, WHERE THE TECHNICIANS STATED THAT THE LOCK MECHANISM FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE REPAIRS THAT WOULD NEED TO BE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
I AM A MILITARY HELICOPTER TEST PILOT AND FAA LICENSED AIRCRAFT MECHANIC. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2008 AND IT HAS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR. WE HAD TO REPLACE A DEAD BATTERY IN JULY 2011 AND FOLLOWING THAT THE RADIO STOPPED KEEPING TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTED OUT MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLED REPEATEDLY AND THE INSTRUMENT CONSOLE FLASHED IN UNISON. ALSO FOLLOWING EACH EVENT THE RADIO CLOCK TIME AND DATE HAD RESET. IT HAS DONE THIS ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS SINCE LATE JULY. AS A PRECAUTION THE BATTERY CONNECTIONS WERE RECHECKED AND FOUND PROPERLY SECURED, ALTHOUGH THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. EACH TIME THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED IT HAS HAPPENED QUICKLY BUT THE ENGINE MOMENTARILY EXHIBITED REDUCED POWER WHEN IT HAPPENED. *TR
ENGINE STALLS IN TRAFFIC, RAPIDLY GOES FROM DRIVE TO PARK MULTIPLE TIMES, DOOR LOCKS RAPIDLY CYCLE MULTIPLE TIMES, GAUGES FLASH, RADIO CLOCK DOES NOT KEEP TIME. THIS IS MY 3RD REPORT SINCE AUGUST TO YOUR OFFICE FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME SINCE AUGUST OUR VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TOTALING MORE THAN 8 WEEKS. CHEVROLET CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM AND KEEPS TRYING TO BLAME IT ON AN AFTER-MARKET DVD PLAYER WE HAD PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED. I OWN A 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN AND TWO OF OUR OUTER DOOR HANDLES CAME OFF UNDER WARRANTY AND THE THIRD RIGHT AFTER NOW THE FOURTH HAS COME LOOSE. JUDGING BY MANY FORUMS FOUND ON GOOGLE THIS IS A FREQUENT PROBLEM. I FIND THIS ALSO TO BE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY PROBLEM SINCE I HAVE LITTLE CHILDREN WHO CANNOT GET OUT THE CAR BY THEMSELVES IN THIS PROBLEM HINDERS THE DOOR FORM OPENING FROM THE OUTSIDE IN AN EMERGENCY THIS COULD BECOME A LIFE-THREATENING DEFECT OF THESE CARS. I PURCHASED A 2008 SUBURBAN LTZ IN JULY 2011. SHORTLY AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 3 OF THE DOORS LOCKS HAVE STOPPED FUNCTIONING COMPLETELY, THE 4TH DOOR WORKS SPORADICALLY (DRIVER SIDE, PASSENGER). THE LOCKS DO NOT WORK AT ALL WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY NOR THE MAIN LOCK BUTTON FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE LOCK ACTUATORS MALFUNCTIONING AND THAT IT IS ALSO A WELL KNOWN ISSUE FROM VARIOUS DEALERS AND PER MY RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET. IN ORDER TO UNLOCK THE DOORS, I MUST MANUALLY USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR THEN UNLOCK ALL THE OTHER DOORS BY HAND ONE BY ONE. THEN WE MUST LOCK ALL DOORS MANUALLY AFTER ENTERING BECAUSE THE LOCKS ALSO DO NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU TAKE THE CAR OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. ALTHOUGH THE POWER LOCKS ARE A LUXURY, THIS ALSO BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE. A VEHICLE WITH AN ORIGINAL ASKING PRICE OF OVER $55,000 SHOULD NEVER HAVE THIS ISSUE AND I'M NOT SURE WHY CHEVROLET FAILS TO TAKE ACTION FOR A CLEAR SAFETY DANGER. AS A MOTHER OF 3 CHILDREN I FIND THIS TO BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. A CHILD COULD EASILY OPEN THE DOOR AND FALL OUT OF THE MOVING VEHICLE OR IF WE WERE INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ANY ONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS (ADULT OR CHILD) COULD POTENTIALLY BE EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE, CAUSING EITHER SERIOUS INJURY OR WORSE!! I REALIZE THE CHILD SAFETY LOCKS CAN BE ACTIVATED TO KEEP A CHILD FROM OPENING THE DOOR ACCIDENTALLY, BUT THAT WILL NOT PREVENT A CARJACKER OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER FROM JUMPING IN AND STEALING THE CAR OR KIDNAPPING A CHILD. IN MY OPINION, THEIR DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS MAJOR LOCKING MALFUNCTION BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE AND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS I HAVE RESEARCHED. *TR
I OWN A 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN LTZ WITH 37K MILES. THE REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED AT 36K MILES. THE FAULTY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS PREVENT LOCKING OR UNLOCKING OF THE DOORS FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT. AS I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, I FEEL IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE WITH UNLOCKED DOORS. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE I DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM TO BE WIDESPREAD ON A NUMBER OF CHEVROLET VEHICLES. TWO LARGE CRACKS IN DASH, ONE OVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE OTHER WHERE DASH MEETS AIRBAG. I NOTICED A VERY SMALL CRACK APPROX FOUR YEARS AGO AND HAS NOW GROWN SUBSTANTIALLY. RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET HAS SHOWN THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, I AM JUST ONE MORE COMPLAINING OF A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW WITH POSSIBLE SAFETY RAMIFICATIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. HAVE REPLACED AC BLOWER MOTOR, RESISTOR, AND DRIVER FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. IT IS NOW THE DRIVER BACK DOOR LOCK NOT WORKING. ALSO, VEHICLE BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH; TOOK IT TO MECHANIC; SENT ME ON TO DEALER. HAD TO REPLACE ALL FUEL INJECTORS AND CAMSHAFT. *TR

DASH IS CRACKING AROUND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, IF ITS DEPLOYED THE HARD PLASTIC DASH FRAGMENTS COULD BE DEADLY
BACK PASSENGER ACTUATOR IN DOOR LOCKS NOT WORKING. WHEN THESE GO OUT , THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH HANDLE OR REMOTE. IF A CHILD OR PERSON WAS IN THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS A FIRE OR ACCIDENT, THEY COULD NOT GET OUT. I HAVE FOUND ONLINE SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND GM IS NOT WILLING TO FIX. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL WITH MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS ABOUT $400/DOOR TO FIX AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ALL FOUR WILL EVENTUALLY GO OUT. 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN. *TR
MY MAIN CONCERN IS THE INTERIOR SILVER COATED DOOR HANDLES IN MY 2008 SUBURBAN. THE COATING HAS SPLINTERED AND IS CUTTING OUR HANDS. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE IN THE 2007 AND 2008 MODEL, WHEN I LOOK IT UP ONLINE. I'M WONDERING WHY A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR SOMETHING THAT IS DANGEROUS TO ME AND MY CHILDREN? IT IS A PRODUCT THAT WAS MADE POORLY AND THEY ARE HAPPY TO CHARGE ME $200 PER DOOR TO FIX IT! IF USE BROKE A MECHANISM IN THE DOOR HANDLE THEN FINE, BUT I'VE NEVER HAD A METAL DOOR HANDLE PEEL BEFORE! I ALSO HAVE A CRACK IN MY DASHBOARD THAT IS NEAR TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG, IT IS SLOWLY GROWING. I HAVE A FEELING IF IT WASN'T GARAGE KEPT THAT IT WOULD BE A LOT LARGER THAN IT HAS BECOME. *TR
THE DASH IS CRACKING IN SEVERAL PLACES AND MOST SEVERELY AT THE CORNER OF THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. CRACK IS ALSO LARGE OVER THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER. CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED MOSTLY. CAR CURRENTLY HAS 188,00 MILES BUT CRACKS STARTED APPEARING ABOUT 60,000 MILES.
WE HAVE A 2008 CHEVY SUBURBAN AND THERE SEEMS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS. FIRST THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCK WENT OUT THAT WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. ABOUT A MONTH THE DRIVERS SIDE DOORLOCK STOPPED WORKING. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT IT IS A DEFECT. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE REPAIR WOULD REQUIRE A NEW WIRING HARNESS NOW SINCE CHEVY HAD CHANGED THE LOCKING WIRING TO AN NEW DESIGN IN 2009 AND THE 2008 WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. IT APPEARS CHEVY KNOWS THERE WAS A PROBLEM AND DOES NOT WANT TO FESS UP TO IT. THE LOCK NOT WORKING DOES CAUSE A SAFETY HAZARD SINCE THEY ARE AUTOMATIC AND ARE EXPECTED TO WORK FOR THAT SAFETY CONDITION. *TR

MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH CAR CONSUMING EXCESS OIL AND LOSING ENGINE POWER. 27,000 MILES HAD TO REPLACE ALL AMF LIFTERS IN ENGINE 29,000 MILES HAD TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY SYSTEM 31,000 MILES HAD TO INSTALL NEW OIL PUMP, GASKET AND SEAL 32,000 MILES HAD TO REPLACE OIL GASKET 37,000 MILES OIL INTAKE SYSTEM PLUGS BURNING OIL AND OIL ON INTAKE VALVE. HAD TO CLEAN ENGINE AND INSTALLL 8 VALVE SEALS. *TR
DASHBOARD BEGAN TO CRACK AT AROUND 50000 MILES. CONTACTED THE DEALER. QUOTED $1400. CONTACTED GM. WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED TO PAY $400 OUT OF POCKET AS A DEDUCTIBLE. I COULDN'T AFFORD IT AT THE TIME SO I HAD TO PASS. BUT I FEEL I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR A FACTORY DEFECT THAT GM CONTINUES TO IGNORE. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. THIS IS UNSAFE. THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WHICH COULD CAUSE SHARDS OF PLASTIC TO AFFECT THE FRONT AND DRIVER UPON THE AIRBAG BEING DEPLOYED. *TR
I OWN A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. OVER A 6 MONTH PERIOD, THREE (3) OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE STOPPED WORKING AND WERE REPLACED. NOW THE FOURTH ONE HAS STOPPED WORKING. GENERAL MOTORS HAS DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AFTER MAKING THEM AWARE OF IT. THE FAILURE OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IS CONSTANT. THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING TO THE FAILURE OTHER THAN AN INFERIOR PART. THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS IS TO CRAWL OVER THE FRONT SEATS INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE PLASTIC JACK WING NUT THAT HOLDS THE JACK STORED SECURLEY IN THE INTERIOR WHEEL WELL TWISTED OFF THE FIRST TIME IT WAS USED. THE JACK WAS THEREFOR UNACESSIBLE FOR USE. THE LUG WRENCH TWISTED APART WHEN IT WAS USED TO ATTEMPT TO LOOSEN THE LUG NUTS. THE METAL IN THE LUG WRENCH WAS VERY SOFT.
ENGINE MOUNTS REPEATEDLY FAIL AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED 4 TIMES, NOW IT OCCURS 1 PER YEAR. THE ENGINE TWISTS AND CLUNKS AROUND INSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
PASSENGER'S SIDE HANDLE OF OUR 08 SUBURBAN KEPT CUTTING PEOPLE'S HANDS ON EXIT. FINALLY HAD DEALER REPLACE FOR $120+. NOW, ABOUT A MONTH LATER, MY SIDE (DRIVER) IS DOING THE SAME THING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DOORS WOULD LOCK AND UNLOCK INDEPENDENTLY WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR REPAIRS BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT EACH COMPONENT HAD ITS OWN MODULAR BUT REPLACING THE MODULAR FOR EACH COMPONENT HAD NOT CORRECTED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
I OWN A 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. IN LESS THAT TWO (2) YEARS, THREE (3) OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. GENERAL MOTORS HAS DONE NOTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM AFTER MAKING THEM AWARE OF IT. THE FAILURE OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IS CONSTANT. THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING TO THE FAILURE OTHER THAN AN INFERIOR PART. THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK THE REAR DOORS IS TO CRAWL OVER THE FRONT SEATS INTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. DASHBOARD HAS COMPLETELY FALLEN APART AND IT IS BROKEN INTO PIECES. IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY (WHICH AIRBAGS ARE ALSO A RECALL), THIS PIECES OF DASHBOARD CAN BE DEADLY PROJECTILES TO MY FAMILY. THE DASHBOARD STARTED COMING APART SINCE 2010. I USE MY VEHICLE DAILY.

VEHICLE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT WORK A DESCRIBED OFTEN REQUIRING SOMEONE TO CRAWL IN THE BACKSEATS TO UNLOCK THE DOORS IN ORDER TO GET THE KIDS OUT. THERE ARE NO KEY LOCKS ON NEW VEHICLES FOR THE BACK DOORS AND WHEN THE LOCKS MESS UP IT REQUIRES SOMEONE TO CRAWL ACROSS AND UNLOCK IT MANUALLY.. RECENTLY MY BACK LEFT DOOR LOCK MESSED UP AND I TOOK IT IN AND PAID OUT OF MY POCKET TO HAVE IT FIXED DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CANNOT FIND ANY GM DEALERSHIP IN BELGIUM THAT WILL HONOR A GM WARRANTY DUE TO A FALLOUT WITH CHEVROLET. ONE MONTH AFTER I HAD THE BACK LEFT DOOR LOCK REPLACED OUT OF MY POCKET, THE FRONT LEFT WENT OUT AND WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK. THIS VEHICLE HAS 20,000 MILES ON IT AND IS STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. DASH BOARD HAS BEEN CRACKING OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS. EVEN THOUGH A SUN BLOCKER SCREEN HAS BEEN USED. OIL HAS BEEN USED WEEKLY SO THAT IT DOES NOT DRY OUT , WHEN I WASH IT. 2008 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. CONSUMER STATES UNINTENDED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED RAPIDLY FROM A STANDING START TO ENTER THE TRAFFIC LANE AHEAD OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM THE LEFT. HE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL QUICKLY, THEN LET UP, BUT THE ENGINE RPM CONTINUED TO CLIMB, AS IF THE ACCELERATOR WERE FULLY DEPRESSED. UPON HEARING THE ENGINE CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN, AND FEELING THE VEHICLE SURGE FORWARD, THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE WITH FULL FORCE, USING BOTH FEET AND WAS SUCCESSFUL IN BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO STOP; DISTANCE TRAVELED WAS ABOUT 40 FEET FROM THE POINT WHERE THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. ONCE STOPPED, THE CONSUMER PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK, WHERE UPON THE ENGINE ACCELERATED TO THE REV LIMIT. HE IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE ENGINE USING THE IGNITION SWITCH, TO AVOID ENGINE DAMAGE. AFTER A MOMENT, HE RESTARTED THE ENGINE, WHICH RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. *JB
I HAVE SEVERAL CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD. I TOOK MY CAR TO DON RINGLER CHEVROLET IN TEMPLE, TX AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND THAT IT WAS NOT RECALLED NOR COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MY ENTIRE DASH MOVES WHEN YOU TOUCH IT AND I'M AFRAID THAT EITHER THE AIRBAGS WILL GO OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING OR WON'T DEPLOY IF I AM IN A WRECK. THESE CRACKS HAVE INCREASED IN SIZE OVER TIME. THE SMALL ONE IS THE NEWEST CRACK THAT APPEARED OVER CHRISTMAS. I FIRST DISCOVERED THE CRACK RIGHT ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL IN FEBRUARY 2010. AT THE TIME, MY CAR WAS ONLY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD. THERE IS NO REAL EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE EVENT, THE POWER LOCKS JUST STOPPED WORKING ON ALL 4 DOORS. ALSO HAVE HAD THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES REPLACED TWICE AT A COST OF 250.00 EACH. THE 4 LOCK ACTUATORS ARE AT A COST OF 1000.00 THE COMPANY HAS A FLEET OF 10-20 SUBURBANS AND TAHOES WHICH ALL THE VEHICLES ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME DEFECTS. THIS IS A MAJOR LIFE SAFETY ISSUE WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR NOT BEING ABLE TO UNLOCK OR LOCK THE DOORS IN AN EMERGENCY. *TR

LEFT AND RIGHT REAR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BROKEN/INOPERABLE. THOSE WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED AT DEALERSHIP, BUT AT HALF PRICE (PARTS AND LABOR) SINCE I HAD GONE OVER THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD ALL FOUR MOUNTS ON EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BREAK MAKING IT NECESSARY TO OPEN THE DOORS VERY CAREFULLY SO THAT THE HANDLES DO NOT BREAK OFF COMPLETELY SO I CAN OPEN THE DOORS. ALSO I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ACTUATORS ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND THE LEFT REAR DOOR. NOW THE LOCKS ON ALL FOUR DOORS WORK ONLY INTERMITTENTLY, BOTH BY REMOTE CONTROL AND BY MANUALLY USING THE MASTER ELECTRIC LOCKS ON FRONT DOORS. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCKS AND HANDLES COULD SOMEDAY CAUSE A PERSON'S DEATH, SHOULD THEY EVER NEED TO EXIT OR ENTER DURING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS (JUST USE YOUR IMAGINATION).
