THE DASHBOARD CRACKED IN 2 PLACES OUT OF THE BLUE. ONE LOCATION IS CONSISTENT WITH MANY I HAVE SEEN SHOWN ON YOUTUBE AND IN A POTENTIAL LAWSUIT ABOUT DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS IN GM TRUCKS.
I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE VEHICLE THAT OIL PRESSURE IS LOW, TURN OFF IMMEDIATELY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED ME I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. MY VEHICLE HAD 110,000 MILES, IT WAS WELL MAINTAINED, AND WAS DRIVEN CAREFULLY.
TAKATA RECALL. RECALL DATE 5/27/2016. RECEIVED LETTER ADVISING OF THE RECALL AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE 2ND LETTER ONCE PART WAS AVAILABLE. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE LETTER SO I CHECKED THE STATUS OF THE RECALL AND WEBSITE STATES: RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL THAT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH YET HERE WE ARE ALMOST 8 MONTHS LATER THAT STILL CANNOT BE CORRECTED. OUR 2ND VEHICLE ALSO HAS THE RECALL SO WE ARE BEING LEFT WITH 2 UNSAFE VEHICLES FOR OUR FAMILY.
DASH CRACKS: THE DASH OF MY SUBURBAN 2009 HAS A BIG CRACK ON THE SIDE OF THE DRIVER, IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS OH CHEVY TRUCKS BOUGHT ON SPECIFIC YEARS. THE BIG CONCERN IS THAT IN AN EVENT OF A COLLISION PLASTIC PIECES OF THE DASH WILL EASILY BREAK AND HIT DRIVER OR PASSENGER CAUSING BAD INJURIES.
IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL YEARS SINCE THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. THE LOCAL DEALER, BUNNIN CHEVROLET, HAS CONTINUALLY BEEN UNABLE TO CONSUMATE THE RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS DANGER, SHORT OF NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE?
RECEIVED NOTICE JULY 2016 THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED. NEVER WAS SO I CALLED ALLEN GMC TOLD THEM ABOUT MY RECALL , MADE AND APPOINTMENT AND DROVE DOWN MET WITH SERVICE ADVISOR STEVE WACKER. HE SAID I CANNOT FIX THIS AS I HAVE NO PARTS. I CALLED 800 222-1020 TALKED TO YVONNE AND GAVE HER ALL MY INFO. SHE PUT ME ON HOLD AND BURT PICKED UP AND I HAD TO GIVE HIM ALL THE INFORMATION AGAIN. BOTH THESE PEOPLE WERE IN THE PHILIPPINES AND SAID THEY COULD NOT TRANSFER ME TO A DECISION MAKER. FUNNY HOW THE SUITS ALL HIDE BEHIND THESE CUST SERV PEOPLE. I ASKED STEVE AND BURT HOW THEY WOULD FEEL ABOUT PUTTING THEIR WIFE OR CHILD IN THAT SEAT WITH THE POSSIBILITY THE AIR BAG COULD KILL THEM AS IT HAS OTHERS. I ASKED FOR A CAR TO DRIVE LIKE HONDA HAS DONE WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS. JUST A BUNCH OF HAPPY TALK AT THE EXPENSE OF A FAMILY MEMBER. I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS A 1/1000 CHANCE IT MAY HAPPEN THEY SHOULD FIX IT OR GIVE YOU A CAR UNTIL THEY DO. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PRODUCE OR SELL NEW CARS UNTIL THE GET THIS SITUATION RESOLVED. GM IS A HUGE COMPANY WITH LOTS OF RESOURCES AND IT SEEMS A CRIME THAT SOMEONE MAY LOSE A LOVED ONE OVER GREED. HOW SOON THEY FORGET WHO WAS LOYAL TO THEM WHEN THEY WERE IN BANKRUPTCY.

DASH AROUND AIRBAG IS CRACKED ALONG WITH ABOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. IT APPEARS IT IS IDENTICAL TO ALL OTHER DASH CRACKS IN BOTH LOCATION AND TYPE ON 07-13 TAHOES/SUBURBANS/AVALANCHES. OBLIVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT COUPLED WITH THE TAKATA RECALL COULD CREATE AN EXPLODING DASH WITH EXTRA BRITTLE SHRAPNEL.
SERVICE AIRBAGS LIGHT ON
MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS, TO THE POINT THAT PIECES ARE GOING TO START FALLING INWARD. THE LARGEST CRACKS ARE AROUND THE DRIVER SIDE HUMP ABOVE THE CLUSTER. THIS CRACK WAS NOT DUE TO ANY NEGLECT OR BANGING. IT JUST APPEARED ONE MORNING. IT HAPPENED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. THANK YOU *TR

TAKATA RECALL - I CONTACTED LEGACY CHEVROLET WHICH IS MY LOCAL DEALER. SHE SAID ME AND EVERYONE ELSE HAS NOT HAD THEIR AIRBAGS REPLACED BECAUSE THE DEALER HASN'T BEEN SENT ANY PARTS FOR ANYONE. SUGGESTED I CALL GM DIRECTLY MYSELF TO ASK WHY PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION BY MAIL THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACT PER BY THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE A REPLACEMENT/ REPAIR AS IT SEEMS PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THIS IS ALMOST 4 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL NOTICE.

MY 2009 SUBURBAN HAS MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THE DASH THAT CONTINUE TO GET WORSE. I ALSO HAVE NEW CRACKS THAT GO FROM THE NATURAL DASH SEAM TO THE AIRBAG COVER/ENCASING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS PRESENTS THE QUESTION: IF THE AIRBAG NEEDS TO DEPLOY, WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BROKEN DASH PUNCTURES IT AND IT DOESN'T PERFORM AT ALL -OR- WHAT IF THE CRACKED DASH BECOMES SHRAPNEL AND HARMS THE PASSENGERS? IT WAS CLEARLY AN UNFINISHED DESIGN SINCE THE UNDERSIDE OF THE DASH IS COMPLETELY HOLLOW, IT FLAPS UP AND DOWN ONCE CRACKED. IT'S NO WONDER THEY HAVE CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS, THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT UNDER THERE. THESE VEHICLES ARE MADE TO TOW, GET THROUGH ALL SORTS OF WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS, AND HAUL A LARGE GROUP. BUT THE DASH CAN'T WITHSTAND IT? PROBLEMATIC.

2009 THE SUBURBAN HAS A CENTER MOUNTED DASH SPEAKER. THE WEIGHT OF THIS SPEAKER, OVER TIME, HAS CAUSED THE DASH TO CRACK NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE STEERING WHEEL. I AM CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER IN THE CASE THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED AND THE DASH EXPLODES?

TAKATA RECALL. ON 10/19/17 WE RECEIVED A MAILED LEGAL NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS INC AND ITS AFFILIATES WHO HAVE FILED CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY CASES IN THE US. THE NOTICE TOLD US TO TAKE OUR DEFECTIVE VEHICLE TO TO OUR NEAREST DEALER IMMEDIATELY FOR A FREE AIR BAG REPAIR. IT ALSO SAID VISIT WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM FOR MORE INFO ABOUT OBTAINING FREE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. HOWEVER OUR VEHICLE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO SUCH REMEDY FOR THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.TODAY I CHECKED THE RECALL STATUS AT WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM AND IT SAYS " RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" IT SAID GM WAS SUPPOSE TO COMPLETE ITS INVESTIGATION BY AUGUST 2017. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MATTER. THE RECALL DATE WAS MAY 16, 2016.

MEANWHILE THEY RECOMMEND THAT NOBODY SITS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE ISSUE IS CORRECTED. WE HAVE A SUBURBAN BECAUSE WE NEED THE SPACE TO FIT ALL OF OUR FAMILY, WHICH INCLUDES USING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND 2 YEARS WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE OUR CAR TO IT'S FULL CAPACITY IS UNHEARD OF.

TAKATA RECALL- I HAVE NOW CALLED MY LOCAL GM CHEVY DEALER DEALER MONTHLY SINCE THE TAKATA RECALL HAS COME OUT AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS. THEY SITE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY TO REPLACE THEM WITH. MY RESPONSE HAS BEEN, I HAVE 4 CHILDREN THAT I DRIVE DAILY AND GOD FORBID BUT IF I WERE TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND WE FOUND OUT THEN THAT THEY WERE DEFECTIVE. IT MAY BE TOO LATE AND THE INJURIES SUSTAINED BE LIFE THREATENING. THERE IS NO REASON WE NEED SHOULD HAVE TO WAIT TILL SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS WHEN THIS IS A SIMPLE FIX. I NEED MY AIRBAGS REPLACED ASAP AND NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. I EVEN RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT STATES CONTACT YOUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULE YOUR FREE REPAIR. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ASININE THAT MY AIRBAGS HAVE NOT BEEN FIXED WITHIN THE LAST 18MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL. I NEED SOMETHING DONE NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
THE DASHBOARD CRACKED IN TWO PLACES AT AROUND 50,000 MILES. THERE IS A CRACK BETWEEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COVER AND THE FRONT EDGE OF THE DASHBOARD AND ONE OVER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO THE FRONT EDGE OF THE DASHBOARD. I WAS TOLD INITIALLY THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A COSMETIC ISSUE, BUT SUBSEQUENT REPORTS SUGGEST THAT THESE CRACKS MAY CAUSE THE DASHBOARD TO SPLINTER WITH AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING PREVENTABLE HARM TO PASSENGERS.
A CRACK SUDDENLY APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD AT THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE AIRBAG THE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE BEEN GETTING RANDOM SERVICE AIRBAG MESSAGES ON MY DASH DISPLAY AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT FREQUENTLY NOT GO ON WHEN I HAVE A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER.
DASHBOARD IS SLOWLY BUT SURELY CRACKING AND FALLING APART ON MY TOP OF THE LINE LTZ. ONE LARGE CRACK CREEPING FROM THE WINDOW TO THE STEERING WHEEL AND A LARGE PIECE CRACKED AND FELL OUT NEAR THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. MY DASHBOARD IS NOW VIBRATING HEAVILY.
CRACKED DASH MAY DAMAGE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IF ACTIVATED.
THERE IS A CRACK IN THE DASH RIGHT IN THE CORNER OF WHERE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS PIECES OFM THE DASH MAY COME OFF WITH IT. GM DENIES THERES A PROBLEM AND WONT RECALL.
DASHBOARD CRACKED ALONG PASSENGER AIRBAG INTERFACE. KNOWN DEFECT UNREMEDIED BY OEM. SHARP EDGES DUE TO CRACK CAN HINDER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AS WELL AS SHRAPNEL FROM THE DASH IN A CRASH COULD INJURE OCCUPANTS. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT IN PLASTIC MANUFACTURE BY GM FOR MODEL YEARS 2007-2011.
TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED MANY YEARS AGO, IT IS NOW 2019 AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY MORE INFORMATION. WHY IS NO ONE MAKING GM FIX THIS PROBLEM. DODGE/CHRYSLER FIXED THEIRS ASAP AND SENT MANY NOTICES TRYING TO GET THE VEHICLE FIXED. GM ON THE OTHER HAND IS WAITING FOR PEOPLE TO GET KILLED.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FREMONT CHEVROLET (5850 CUSHING PKWY, FREMONT, CA 94538; (510) 445-8700) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. VEHICLE USE 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 3000 MILES. THIS IS A KNOW MANUFACTURER DEFECT BUT YET THEY ARE MAKING ME PAY FOR THE REPAIRS.

EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IS A PROBLEM AFFECTING A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS MODEL IN 2009-2010. CHEVY NEEDS TO ISSUE THE RECALL AND ADDRESS THEIR PROBLEM. VERY SAD AND FRUSTRATING.
MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AND HAS SHARP EDGES ALONG THE CRACKS. I'M AFRAID IN AN IMPACT THOSE SHARP PIECES WILL BE FLYING AT ME AND MY PASSENGERS OR COMPLETELY IMPEDE THE AIRBAGS FROM INFLATING AS THEY SHOULD. IT STARTED WITH ONE CRACK, NOW CRACKED ON SEVERAL PLACES, IT SEEMS THE MORE I DRIVE IT ON CITY ROADS THE WORSE IT GETS. THE DASH MIGHT JUST FALL ONTO MY LAP ONE DAY.
WITHIN THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE IT DEVELOPED CRACKS ALL ALONG THE DASHBOARD. THE CRACKS GOT BAD ENOUGH THAT RECENTLY A LARGE PIECE OF THE DASHBOARD FELL OUT. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO GET CHEVROLET TO HELP PAY FOR REPLACING IT BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING AND I CANNOT AFFORD THE ENTIRE BILL ALONE. I AM WORRIED THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK AND THAT HAVING ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL EXPOSED WILL CAUSE HARM TO MYSELF OR THE VEHICLE.
THE DASH IS SEVERELY CRACKED IN 3 PLACES WITH THE LARGEST CRACK ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AREA.
DASH CRACKED NEAR AIRBAG - SAFETY PROBLEM
DASH PANEL HAS CRACKS ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. BOTH MOTOR MOUNTS ARE DEFECTIVE. ENGINE BURNS OIL BADLY.
