FUEL GAUGE ON DASH READS IMPROPERLY. DRIVING WITH WHAT MARKED AS 1/4 OF FULL TANK (26 GAL TANK WHICH READS 20 GALS PLUS 6 GALLON RESERVE WHEN LOW FUEL LIGHT TURNS ON OR RED-LINING). DRIVING ON FREEWAY ACCOMPANIED BY MY INFANT SON AND TODDLER NIECE, WHEN TRUCK COMPLETELY STALLED OUT ON THE #2 LANE. WAS ABLE TO GLIDE OVER TO THE SHOULDER, TURNED OFF TRUCK AND TRIED TURNING IT OVER WHEN FUEL LIGHT CAME ON TO INDICATE THAT I WAS LOW ON GAS. MY PRIMARY CONCERN IS DRIVING WITH CHILDREN AND HAVING AN INCIDENT LIKE THIS HAPPEN, WHERE FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE TRUCK DID NOT IN ANY INSTANCE INDICATE THE FUEL LEVEL WAS LOW OR THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. HAD PROBLEM FIXED AT CHEVY DEALERSHIP, THEN ON 3/21/08 PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN WHERE GAUGE IS STILL NOT READING PROPERLY. *TR
HORN IS INOPERABLE INTERMITTENTLY. WAS PARKED IN SUPERMARKET PARKING LOT WHEN I NOTICED A TRUCK BACKING UP OUT OF THEIR SPOT. NOTICED TRUCK WAS REALLY CLOSE AND WHEN I TRIED HONKING TO WARN THEM TO STOP, THEY ACTUALLY HAD BACKED INTO MY VEHICLE CAUSING THEIR PAINT TO RUB OFF AND CREASE MY REAR FENDER. I GOT OFF MY VEHICLE TO SPEAK TO THE DRIVER WHEN THEY PULLED FORWARD AND DROVE AWAY. TOOK MY TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP FOR PROBLEM AND WAS FIXED DUE TO A FAULTY FUSE, TOOK TRUCK IN AGAIN ON 3/21/08 BECAUSE HORN STILL WORKED SPORADICALLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE VEHICLE HAS GOODYEAR EAGLE LS, SIZE P225/60R16 TIRES. WHILE DRIVING 55-60 MPH, THE VEHICLE ALARM SOUNDED, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS LOW. THE CONTACT PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND NOTICED THAT THE TIRE WAS FLAT. SHE WENT TO A TIRE STORE AND THE ENTIRE TIRE WAS COMING APART WITH A THREE INCH SPLIT IN THE TREAD IN THE DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE. THE TIRE WAS THE ORIGINAL TIRE THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 19,700.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAT RETRACTED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE SEAT BACK TO ITS NORMAL, UPRIGHT POSITION; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO WEEKS LATER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BECAUSE THEY ACCIDENTALLY WIPED OUT THE MEMORY MODULE. THE CONTACT PLACED A 2 X 4 PIECE OF WOOD BEHIND THE SEAT TO PREVENT IT FROM RETRACTING BACKWARDS. SHE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,300.
NOISE, ANNOYING POPPING TICKING COMMING FROM STEERING COLUMN.
2006 CHEVROLET TAHOE WITH DEFECTIVE AIRBAG SYSTEM. CONSUMER WAS STATING THAT THERE IS A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG SYSTEM FOR HIS VEHICLE. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE ROOF RAIL AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. *JB
I'M DESCRIBING A POTENTIAL PROBLEM ON VEHICLES I DO NOT OWN, BUT HAVE SEEN THE BEHAVIOR: VARIOUS LATE-MODEL GM PICK-UP TRUCKS AND SUVS (TAHOE AS AN EXAMPLE) WILL TURN ON THE WHITE BACK-UP TAIL-LIGHT WHEN THE OWNER UNLOCKS THE VEHICLE VIA REMOTE. I BELIEVE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS SOMEONE DRIVING BY THINKING THE VEHICLE IS BACKING-UP, AND COULD MAKE A SUDDEN STOP TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO BACK OUT. *JB
WE OWN A 2003 CHEVY. TAHOE WITH 45000 ORIGINAL MILES. THE OIL GAUGE INITIALLY PEGGED FOLLOWED BY THE SPEEDOMETER PEGGING AT 120 MPH. OTHER SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICAL LOCKING DOOR. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS AND USING THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT IN THE REAR FACING POSITION, THE CHILD SEAT RECLINED. THE RECLINING WAS WORST WHEN THE VEHICLE MADE TURNS. THE BASE OF THE CHILD SEAT WAS FIRMLY BUCKLED BUT STILL SLID AROUND. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. .MANUFACTURER: DOREL JUVENILE GROUP, EDDIE BAUER EDITION, MODEL # 22-630 AND DOM: 2006.
I HAVE A 2006 CHEVROLET TAHOE LS 4WD I BOUGHT BRAND NEW MAY 2006. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 3 OR 4 TIMES BECAUSE IT KEEPS CLANKING/CLUNKING LOUDLY WHEN I SLOW DOWN OR STOP. IT CLANKS WHEN I GO OVER A BUMP. IF I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 40MPH+ AND SLOW DOWN TO 20MPH OR LESS, THEN THE TAHOE CLUNKS LOUD ENOUGH PEOPLE ON THE STREET CAN HEAR IT. THE DEALERSHIP(S) CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM (ONE DEALERSHIP HAD THE NERVE TO TELL ME IT WAS MY 3RD ROW SEAT). IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH A WHEEL IS GOING TO FALL OFF OR THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO DROP. THE LAST DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE HUB ASSEMBLY ON ONE OF THE WHEELS, BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP...STILL CLUNK, CLANK. I CAN'T TELL IF THE NOISE IS COMING FROM THE BACK FOR SURE, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE IT. MY WARRANTY IS ABOUT EXPIRE AND I'M AFRAID THIS IS GOING TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE/PROBLEM IF IT'S NOT RESOLVED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BODY AND FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WERE RATTLING LOUDLY. WHILE BRAKING FROM 60 MPH, THE TRUCK SHOOK HEAVILY, CAUSING A TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE DEALER INSTALLED NEW SHIMS TO REDUCE THE VIBRATIONS.
9 DAYS AFTER OBTAINING VEHICLE ON 1/31/06. 2/10/06 HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN HITTING BUMPS AND TURNING THE VEHICLE. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP. SWAY BAR BRACKET WAS BROKEN OFF. *JB DEALERSHIP TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LOCAL MUFFLER SHOP FOR REPAIR - TO WELD THE BRACKET BACK ON. 2/21/06 HEAR NOISE AND METAL GRINDING UNDER VEHICLE - ESPECIALLY WHEN STOPPING AND STARTING. *JB
THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE FRAYED AND BROKE, THIS VEHICLE HAS APPROX 30,000 MILES, THIS CAN'T BE NORMAL. *TR
2006 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS A POWER STEERING PROBLEM AND PERHAPS RELATED TO THE RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE (05086). *NJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING WAS CAUSING A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS. THE DEALER HAS MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AND THEN THEY STATED THERE WAS NO WAY TO MAKE THE NOISE GO AWAY. RECALL 05V455000 *JB
