DASH BOARD CRACKED OVER STRINGING WHEEL AND PASS. AIR BAG
DASHBOARD CRACKS IN ALL GM VEHICLES NEAR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. NOT SURE IF IT AFFECTS THE AIRBAG BUT WILL DEFINITELY SEND SHARP PLASTIC PARTS FLYING IF AIRBAG IS NEEDED.
2007 TAHOE WITH 100K MILES. DASHBOARD HAS BEEN CRACKED SINCE BEFORE 100K AND CHROME PEELING FROM DOOR HANDLES CAUSING OCCASIONAL CUTS TO HANDS WHEN OPENING DOORS. DEALER HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AND BOTH ARE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. DON'T PLAN TO BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT - THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. DASH HAS SPLIT STRAIGHT THROUGH WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS INSTALLED. *TR
I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE JUST OVER 30 DAYS AND THE DASH WAS FINE WHEN I PURCHASED IT. I STARTED MY VEHICLE THE NEXT MORNING AND WHEN I WENT OUT THE DASH WAS CRACKED. IT HAS SINCE GOTTEN 10X WORSE THAN THAT AND HAS ACTUALLY GOTTEN THE POINT WHERE PIECES ARE MISSING FROM THE DASH. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
AIR BAG RECALLS, AROUND MY AIRBAGS THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON BECAUSE OF THE GAS CAP. SO THAT MAKES MY AUTOMATIC START NOT WORK. VERY DISAPPOINTED. WOULD LOVE TO GIVE MY SON A TRUCK I WORKED SO HARD TO PAY FOR... BUT THE AIRBAGS BEING RECALLED AND DEALERSHIP NOT HAVING AIRBAGS TO REPLACE IS VERY UNFORTUNATE FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY CHILDREN, AND MY FAMILY. I WISH GM WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ABOUT COUPLE MONTHS AGO WE NOTICE ABOUT AN 8 INCH LONG CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE CLUSTER DRIVER SIDE. AND I FIRST THOUGHT IT HAD TO BE SUN DAMAGE. SO PRETTY BUM ABOUT IT. THEN RECENTLY ABOUT A WEEK AGO WATCHING THE LOCAL NEWS ON TV. THERE WAS A SIMILAR ISSUE ABOUT CRACK DASHBOARDS. AND THEN CHECKING ON THIS WEBSITE THERE'S MULTIPLE VERY IDENTICAL ISSUES. SO NOW IN HOPE THERE'S A RECALL COMING SOON. AND ALSO NOTICE THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES THE CHROME IS COMING APART LEAVING REALLY SHARP EDGES. IT WAS PARKED AT THE STORE PARKING LOT AND SUDDENLY IT WAS ON FIRE IT WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED THE FRONT, THE SEATS AND ALL THE MOTOR AND NEAREST PARTS. *TR
VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPEATEDLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. LOSS OF CRITICAL COMPONENTS THAT ARE REQUIRED TO CONTROL VEHICLE. NO WARNING WHATSOEVER... *TR
SINCE NOVEMBER 11, 2014, THE STABILITY TRACK TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I RECENTLY RELOCATED TO PHILADELPHIA, PA FROM AUSTIN, TEXAS. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL DEALERS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT'S A SENSOR (THAT ACCORDING ONE HONEST DEALER, DOESN'T EXIST). THE WORST MOMENT OF ALL WAS DURING A DRIVE INTO WORK AFTER MOVING TO PHILADELPHIA. IT WAS SNOWING MAYBE AN INCH OR TWO, THE STABILITY CONTROL TURNED OFF ON IT'S OWN. I WENT TO BREAK AND MY TRUCK PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND BOUNCED TO A STOP, NARROWLY AVOIDING A COUPLE STANDING ON THE SIDEWALK. I MANAGED TO GET TO THE OFFICE BY DRIVING 25 MILES PER HOUR FOR 10 MILES. I AGAIN CALLED SEVERAL DEALERS ONE WHO AGREED TO LOOK AT MY TRUCK AT NO COST. HE HAD MY TRUCK FOR THE DAY AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WHAT I FOUND WAS MOST OF THE DEALERS ONLY DRIVE THE VEHICLE AROUND THE BLOCK, NEVER MORE THEN A COUPLE OF MINUTES. IT TAKES ABOUT 15 MINUTES AT SPEEDS AROUND 45 TO 65 MILES PER HOUR FOR THIS ISSUE TO SHOW. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER TO DRIVE MY TRUCK IN THE SAME CONDITION THEY STATED THEY DON'T DO THAT. SO STILL NO REMEDY FOR THIS ISSUE. THIS MAKES NO SINCE THAT CHEVY HAS NOT PUT OUT ANY STATEMENTS OR EXPLAINED THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE TO KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM. I AM WONDERING IF THIS ISN'T ANOTHER "HIDE THE FINDINGS UNTIL WE GET CAUGHT" APPROACH. SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THIS. I THINK ITS TIME FOR A FEW LAWSUITS OR CLASS ACTION SUIT. MY DOOR HANDLES ARE COMING OFF!! I HAVE THE CHROME STYLE HANDLES. I WENT TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR TO GET IN AND RIPPED THE HANDLE RIGHT OFF THE DOOR ALMOST FELL BACK IT CAME OFF SO EASILY ... SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID 205.00 TO FIX IT I'M HOLDING OFF AND NOW THAT I HAVE BEEN USING THE PASSENGER DOOR THIS ONE IS NOW COMING OFF!! THE INSIDE HANDLES ARE FLAKING/ PEELING AND ARE REALLY SHARP AS WELL IT HAS CUT ME A FEW TIMES. THIS IS TERRIBLE AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE HANDLES ON A DOOR!! I'VE NEVER HAD THIS PROB W ANY OTHER MAKE THIS IS MY FIRST GM AND MY FIRST CHEVROLET AND WILL PROB BE MY LAST BC ITS MADE SO CHEAPLY I WILL RECONSIDER IF THEY RECALL THIS. *TR
THE DASHBOARD ON MY 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE HAS FRACTURES OVER THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG AS WELL AS ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE FRACTURES ARE EMITTING A LOUD RATTLE FROM WITHIN THE DASHBOARD PREVENTING ADEQUATE CONCENTRATION WHILE DRIVING. THE FEAR OF A COLLISION RESULTING IN THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS ONE THING BUT I ALSO FEAR THAT THE FRACTURES IN THE DASHBOARD SHOWS THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE DASHBOARD HAS FAILED AND PRESENTS A STRONG AND VALID POSSIBLY OF SAID FRACTURES SPLINTERING OFF AND BECOMING SHRAPNEL IN A COLLISION CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH THE CHEVROLET TAHOE. I AM REQUESTING A FORMAL INVESTIGATION INTO THE FAILED INTEGRITY OF THE DASHBOARD ON THE CHEVROLET TAHOE, YEARS 2007-2013

MY 2007 TAHOE SPUTTERED AND HESITATED AS I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN. AS I STOPPED STABILITY CONTROL / TRACTION CONTROL DASHLIGHTS APPEARED AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE , THEY BOTH BLINKED AND DASH READ SERVICE STABILITRAK, AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. AS I PULLED FROM STOP SIGN THE TRANNY SLAMMED INTO 2ND GEAR WITH A BANG AND I WAS BARELY ACCELERATING PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART IT JUST TURNED OVER. IT TOOK A FEW TRIES TO GET IT TO START, AND WHEN IT DID I SMELLED A STRONG SMELL OF UNBURNED FUEL FROM THE EXHAUST. I WILL CONTACT GM TO FILE COMPLAINT AS MY TAHOE HAS ONLY 97K ON IT. HOPEFULLY IT'S COVERED BY WARRANTY. *TR
DASHBOARD HAS 2 CRACKS. ONE ALONG THE AIRBAG WHICH I'M AFRAID OF MY SAFETY. THE OTHER IS A LONG ONE ACROSS THE STEERING WHEEL/SPEEDOMETER.
OUR EXTRA THIRD VEHICLE TAHOE, IS DRIVEN ON THE WEEKENDS OR WHEN THE ENTIRE FAMILY IS GOING OUT. ON OCTOBER 10TH, WE NOTICE A KNOCKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING IDLE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON OCTOBER 11TH AND WAS TOLD WE NEEDED A NEW ENGINE OR TO BUY A NEW VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL MECHANIC ON OCTOBER 13TH FOR A SECOND OPINION AND WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS 2 QUARTS LOW IN OIL. WHICH WAS A MAJOR RED FLAG TO THE MECHANIC. NOW, WE HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW ENGINE. *TR
THE VEHICLES DASH BOARD CRACKED NEAR THE AIR BAG. THERE IS SHARP PLASTIC AROUND THE AIR BAG THAT MAY CREATE A SAFETY ISSUE.
I HAVE TWO CRACKS IN MY DASHBOARD. ONE IS HUGE OVER THE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROL CLUSTER AND THE SECOND, I BELIEVE, POSES A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. THE SECOND CRACK IS AT THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH THIS DEFECT AND IF IT DOES THE SHARP EDGES/SHARDS OF THE DASH WILL EITHER INJURE THE PASSENGER AND/OR OTHERS IN THE CAR, OR RIP THE AIRBAG MAKING IT USELESS. AIRBAGS ARE A LEGAL REQUIREMENT. I HAVE BEEN ON MANY FORUMS AND PAGES REGARDING THE CHEVY TAHOE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM. I REALLY BELIEVE GM/CHEVY SHOULD ORDER A RECALL. I ALSO HAVE A MINOR CLAIM ABOUT THE RUBBER ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE PAINT ON THE STEREO/CLIMATE CONTROL BUTTONS. ALL OF WHICH IS PEELING OFF. I HAVE ALSO SEE HUNDREDS OF WRITINGS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. WE HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING WHEEL AND STEREO/CLIMATE CONTROL. AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTED ON THE NEW ITEMS. I PAID WAY TO MUCH FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DOING THIS. I ALSO HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF GETTING A NEW CAR; HOWEVER, AS THEY PROBLEM PERSIST, ESPECIALLY THE SAFETY ISSUES. I JUST MAY BE FORCED TO . *TR
THE DASH IS STARTING TO CRACK. THERE IS ONE CRACK BY THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BACK AND ANOTHER JUST ABOVE THE GAUGE CLUSTER. I'M UNSURE IF THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION WHEN THE DASH CRACKED.
I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN WHEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WENT OUT AND SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE IGNITION SWITCH. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY. THE SMOKE STOPPED BUT THE DASHBOARD STARTED MAKING WEIRD TICKING NOISES. *TR
THE ODOMETER ON THESE VEHICLES LAST JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET OUT OF THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND THEN THEY GO OUT. MINE WENT OUT WITH APPROXIMATELY 110K MILES. WITH THIS PORTION OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NOT LIT YOU CAN NOT SEE YOUR ODOMETER MILES NOR WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN. BY READING ONLINE I FOUND THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF CASES JUST LIKE MINE. GM NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ON THIS. IT IS NOT THE CONSUMERS FAULT THAT GM HAS FAULTY EQUIPMENT IN THESE VEHICLES. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION. *TR

CRACKS APPEARED ON THE DASH AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND ABOVE THE DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-75 IN FLORIDA COMING FROM KENTUCKY (RELOCATING MY MOTHER IN LAW), I AND A FRIEND WHO WAS TAKING A TURN DRIVING SMELLED AN ODOR SIMILAR TO SULFUR OR NATURAL GAS. WITHIN 10-15 MINUTES, SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE FRONT DRIVER ENGINE COMPARTMENT. DRIVER IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AS A FIREBALL EXPLODED FROM THE SAME AREA AS THE SMOKE. WE BOTH DOVE OUT OF THE VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WITH NEARLY ALL THE CONTENTS BURNED, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE TIRES. *TR
"TAKATA RECALL" I OWN A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE THE DASHBOARD IS SEVERELY CRACKED. I AM CONCERN THAT A PIECE MIGHT BREAK AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRBAG. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO GET THIS CORRECTED THROUGH GM WITH NO RESOLVE. I HAVE CHECKED AND FOUND THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THIS YEAR MODEL.

EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES - FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, BOTH REAR PASSENGER DOORS. BOLT HAS BROKEN ON ALL 3 HANDLES AND HAS PULLED AWAY FROM THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE FOR ALL GM VEHICLES WITH THESE STYLE OF EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. SOMEONE COULD FALL AND GET INJURED WILL TRYING TO OPEN A DOOR. *TR

ELECTRICAL ISSUE CAUSING SPEAKER AND MICROPHONE TO BECOME INAUDIBLE THEREFORE PREVENTING COMMUNICATION WITH ONSTAR IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, NOR ALERTING DRIVER OF VEHICLE STANDARD SAFETY ALERTS (LOW GAS, OPEN DOOR INDICATOR, TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR, ETC.).
SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC IN PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. WINDOWS, MIRRORS AND DOOR LOCK CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING ON DRIVER DOOR CONTROL PANEL. REMOVED DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL AND DISCOVERED ONE OF THE PLUGS TO THE DOOR CONTROLS WAS MELTED AND DISCOLORED. UNPLUGGED. NO FUSES WERE TRIPPED. *TR
DASH BOARD HAS CRACKS FOR NO REASON. WORRIED IT MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. CRACKED ABOVE STEERING WHEEL AND ON PASS SIDE AROUND AIR BAG.
I JUST BOUGHT THIS 07 CHEVY TAHOE BEFORE 3 MONTHS AGO, THE PROBLEMS START ONE BY ONE, WHEN THE WEATHER START HOT THE DASHBOARD BROKEN, DIC LIGHT DEAD AND RND123 LIGHT TOO, NOW THE GM DEALER WANT MORE THAN A $500 TO FIX THE CLUSTER, I CHECKED ONLINE AND I FOUND THOUSANDS OF GM OWNERS THEY HAVE SAME PROBLEM, WHY GM DON'T DO A RECALL ON THE MESSAGE CENTER LIGHT AND THE DASHBOARD. *TR

DASH CRACKED IN THREE DIFFERENT SPOTS
2007 CHEVORLET 2007 TAHOE LTZ WITH 62K. I PARKED THE CAR AS USUAL AND LOCKED THE DOORS USING THE REMOTE. THE NEXT MORNING I WENT INTO THE CAR AND IT SMELLED LIKE SMOKE AND SOMETHING HAD CAUGHT FIRE. NONE OF THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FUNCTIONS WORKED. I REMOVED THE DRIVERS SIDE MASTER SWITCH AND THE WIRING HARNESS PLUG HAD BURNT OUR AND MELTED ITSELF TO THE MASTER SWITCH. THE SHORT DESTROYED BOTH THE MASTER SWITCH AND WIRING HARNESS THE CAR DID NOT TRIP ANY FUSES IN THE PROCESS. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION CONSIDERING THE CAR COULD OF COMPLETELY CAUGHT FIRE IN MY DRIVEWAY. THERE WAS NO MOISTURE IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE PARTS THAT BURNT OUT. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT INSPECTED WHICH SAID THEIR WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. *TR
OIL CONSUMPTION OF AT LEAST A QUART BETWEEN OIL CHANGES, MISFIRING AT IDLE CAUSING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, STABILITY TRACK CONTROL SERVICE LIGHT. CHEVROLET TELLS ME THERE IS NOT EVEN 1 SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL NOTICE ON MY TAHOE. *TR
THE R/F DOOR HANDLE CAUSED A LACERATION TO THE PASSENGER'S HAND. AN INSPECTION OF THE DOOR HANDLE REVEALED THAT THE CHROME PLATING IS PEELING AT THE MOLD SEEM, RESULTING IN A RAZOR SHARP EDGE ALONG THE ENTIRE TOP OF THE HANDLE. INSPECTION OF THE OTHER DOOR HANDLES REVEALED SIMILAR PEELING THAT CAN CUT ANYONE WHO COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE PEELING METAL PLATING. *JS
TWICE NOW WHILE DRIVING MY WIPERS HAVE QUIT ON ME. AFTER FIRST TIME IT THREW A "NO START" CODE AND THE TRUCK LEFT ME STRANDED. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH AN AGENT WITH GMC AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT I FILE A CLAIM WITH YOU. IT IS VERY SCARY AND I AM LOOSING CONFIDENCE IN MY TRUCK. LUCKILY NOTHING SERIOUS HAS HAPPENED BUT IT VERY WELL COULD. GMC DOES NOT HAVE RECORD OF THIS ISSUE WITH OTHERS BUT I WOULD ADVISE THAT IT BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE MY COMMENTS TAKE A MORE SERIOUS DIRECTION. PLEASE ADVISE. *TR
