WHILE CLEANING THE DASHBOARD I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND NOTICED IT HAD CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. ONE OVER THE DRIVERS SIDE "HUMP" AND THE OTHER AT THE AIR BAG. IT NOW HAS THREE CRACKS.
CLEANING VEHICLE AND WHILE WIPING DOWN DASH NOTICED BIG CRACK IN DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE AT CORNER OF AIRBAG.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD TWO FRACTURES: ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE OTHER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEAR THE AIR BAG. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DOOR HANDLES ON THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WERE EXTREMELY SHARP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED AND THE DOOR HANDLES WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DASHBOARD COVER IS CRACKED IN MULTIPLE PLACES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED ABOVE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND ABOVE THE SPEEDOMETER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE REPAIRS REQUIRED WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
ENGINE BEGAN BURNING OIL AT A RATE OF 2 1/2 QUARTS PER 1500 MILES, SAW PROBLEM WITH ENGINE LISTED WITH NHTSA WEBSITE, ASKED DEALERSHIP ABOUT ISSUE AROUND 122,000 MILES BUT WAS TOLD NOT AWARE OF PROBLEMS, DIDNT GET HELP UNTIL 135000 MILES FROM ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO PAY FOR HALF TO HAVE ENGINE REBUILT
PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAG. THERE IS ALSO A LARGE CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD DIRECTLY BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THE AIRBAG WAS TO DEPLOY, THERE WOULD BE PROJECTILES FROM THE DASHBOARD.
MY DASH HAS CRACKED IN 4 PLACES. THEY CONTINUE TO GET WORSE OVER TIME. IT IS CLEAR THE CRACKS OCCURRED IN NARROW, WEAK AREAS. 2 CRACKS IN FRONT OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND 2 CRACKS IN THE 1" AREA IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. WITH THE DASH FRACTURING AROUND THE AIRBAG, I'M CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY.
THE POWER LIFT GATE FOR MY CAR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT DOES ONE OF SEVERAL THINGS, WORKS CORRECTLY WHEN IT WANTS TO. DOESN'T OPEN AT ALL WHEN PROMPTED, OPENS HALF WAY THEN SHUTS ON ITS OWN, OPENS ALL THE WAY AND SHUTS ON ITS OWN, OR OPENS AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN AFTER JUST LOCKING AND SECURING THE CAR. ALSO WHEN OPEN AND PROMPTED TO CLOSE WITH THE BUTTON/S, IT WILL EITHER CLOSE, NOT CLOSE OR CLOSE HALF WAY AND RE OPEN. TODAY MY POWER LIFT GATE DECIDED TO OPEN SUDDENLY ON ITS OWN WHEN I LOCKED THE CAR AND STEPPED ABOUT 2 FEET AWAY, IN JUST THAT MOMENT A PASSING CAR IN THE PARKING LOT WAS COMING BY AND HAD TO SUDDENLY STOP TO AVOID HITTING MY NOW RAISING POWER LIFT GATE. NEED LESS TO SAY HE WAS INCHES FROM HITTING THE CORNER OF THE GATE WITH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD OF HIS CAR.
STABILITRACK LIGHT COMES ON AND TRUCK OPERATES BRAKES AND STEERING WITHOUT MY INPUT. ENGINE HAS LOSS OF POWER AND RUNS ROUGH.
THE DASHBOARD HAS STARTED CRACKING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. I TAKE EXTREMELY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE BEFORE ( LEVEL A 2003 YUKON WE HAD FOR 14 YEARS).
CRACKED DASHBOARD IN MULTIPLE PLACES. VEHICLE STATIONARY. ITS A KNOWN ISSUE, UNSURE WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL YET.
THERE IS A CRACK RUNNING ON DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE STARTING AT THE AIRBAG SEEM ON TOP OF DASH BOARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROGRESSIVE POWER STEERING FAILURE THAT OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE SUSPENSION WAS ALSO UNSTABLE IN THE REAR ASSOCIATED WITH THE REAR WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE 4-WHEEL DRIVER MODULE, WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE WHEELS IN THE REAR LOCKED. THE CONTACT APPLIED FORCE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED. THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND CRASHED INTO A 1996 GMC SIERRA 3500. THE FRONT AIR BAGS AND SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITH FORCE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES TO THE RIGHT ARM AND THE LEFT LEG AS WELL AS EXTENSIVE ABRASIONS. THE DRIVER HAD TO RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A WRECKING YARD AND THEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE ADJUSTOR TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE HAD MY TAHOE SINCE 2009 AND SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE HAD 3 CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM WILL AFFECT THE AIRBAGS IN THEY GET WORSE. I ALSO THINK THAT IT IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AS MY HUSBAND'S 2008 SILVERADO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY ARE BOTH KEPT IN A GARAGE.

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON ONE OTHER OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TAKATA COMPLAINT DASH BROKE ABOVE STEERING WHEEL AND PASSENGER AIRBAG.
ALL SIDE AIRBAGS CURTAINS DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON.THE DASH BOARD HAS A LONG CRACK NEARLY THE ENTIRE LENGTH.
A POP WAS HEARD UNDER THE ENGINE AREA AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT THE CAR BEGAN TO IDLE VERY ROUGH. IT WOULD NOT RUN PROPERLY AND HAD TO PULL OFF THE STREET INTO A GAS STATION. INSIDE THE CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE STABILITRAK SERVICE SOON LIGHT WERE ON. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES WE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN, WE DECIDED TO MOVE AGAIN AND THE IDLING WAS WORSE. THE STABILITRAK AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WERE FLASHING ON AND OFF. WE BEGAN TO MOVE BUT THE CAR WAS IDLING VERY BAD AND SHIFTING VERY HARD AFTER A FEW FEET OF MOVEMENT. WE DROVE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST FIRESTONE DEALER TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. FIRESTONE CALLED TO NOTIFY US THAT THE CYLINDER #1 WAS EITHER STUCK/FROZE AND THAT WE WOULD NEED TO OPEN THE CYLINDERCOVER TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG. THE NEXT DAY FIRESTONE NOTIFIED US THAT THE CYLINDER ROD WAS BROKEN AND THAT WE NEEDED TO DO A CYLINDER REPLACEMENT ON THE CAR. THE CAR ONLY HAD 88K MILES AND WE ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS, THIS IS TOO EARLY TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS ON A CAR WITH LESS THAN 100K MILES. I FOUND SOME ARTICLES ON-LINE WHERE THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH GM AND THAT THE 20007-08, 5.3L V8 ENGINES, THE FIRST WITH THE FLEX FUEL SYSTEM, ARE STARTING TO FAIL AT THE 80K PLUS MILES RANGE. WE HAVE HAD OUR SERVICE PERFORMED AT OUR LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THE CAR HAS BEEN MAINTAINED WELL. IT IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR THAT SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED ON A CAR WITH LOW MILES AND GOOD MAINTENANCE RECORDS. FIRESTONE HAS FIXED THE CAR FOR $2,600.00 DOLLARS, AND CAR RENTAL FEES. THIS ENGINE FAILURE IS A DEFECT AND A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW AND WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS EXPENSIVE REPAIR WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM GM IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE NOT FILED A FORMAL RECALL ON THIS MODEL YEAR ENGINE. THIS COULD BE A DANGEROUS CONDITION IF YOUR DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR LOOSES THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE AT HIGH SPEEDS. *TR

MY TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM WENT OUT AND NOW MY KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTE DOES NOT WORK. THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER'S AND HER HUSBAND'S VEHICLE THAT HE DRIVES FOR WORK AND THEY ARE ALL 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOES. THIS IS QUITE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AND I FEEL THAT 3 PEOPLE THAT OWN THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR THAT SOMETHING MUST BE FAULTY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GATEWAY CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 9901 PAPAGO FWY, AVONDALE, AZ 85392, (623) 428-1910, WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL REGARDING THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TECHNICIAN FAILED TO INFORM HIM THAT THE VIN WAS SUBJECTED TO THE TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DURING AN EMISSION TEST HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS A INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V383000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,500. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.*DT*JB
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN GM FOR NOT TAKING THE MEASURE TO FIX THE CRACKED DASHBOARD! NOT ONLY IS MY AIR BAG RECALLED AND SAYS IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY MY DASH IS CRACKED AS WELL RIGHT NEXT TO A POTENTIAL DEADLY AIR BAG. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY GM IMMEDIATELY, I CAN GUARANTEE IF IT WERE THEIR FAMILY'S VEHICLE IT WOULD BE FIXED!
TAKATA RECALL- THE SERVICE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT HAS BEEN ON IN MY 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE SINCE 2015. SINCE THEN I HAVE TRIED NUMEROUS TIMES TO CONTACT MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER (MOMENTUM CHEVROLET IN SAN JOSE CA) TO RESOLVE THE SAFETY ISSUE. NOT ONLY DID THEY FAILED TO COME UP WITH A RESOLUTION TO THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY VEHICLE THEY TOOK MY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO CALL ME BACK AND TRY TO SELL ME A NEW CAR, DISREGARDING MY INITIAL COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY CHEVY TAHOE.
HEAVY GASOLINE FUMES AFTER VEHICLE DRIVEN A SHORT DISTANCE. FUMES APPARENT AT STOPS, SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED. NO TRACE OF FUMES OR INCIPIENT LEAKAGE UNDERHOOD, HOWEVER THERE IS WEEPAGE ON THE UPPER-INBOARD AREA OF THE TANK ITSELF. A VERY DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HAVE A 2007 TAHOE THAT HAS DEVELOPED SEVERAL CRACKS IN THE DASH. ONE ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AND ANOTHER AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. I AM CONCERNED THAT SHOULD THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOY, THE DASH PIECES WILL BECOME SHRAPNEL, CAUSING AVOIDABLE INJURIES. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND IT TO BE DISTURBINGLY COMMON FOR THESE VEHICLES. THIS VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT AND METICULOUSLY CARED FOR. WILL GM BE MADE TO STAND BEHIND THE SAFETY OF THEIR VEHICLES?

THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID FUNCTION FAILED AND THE RADIO CONTINUED TO FUNCTION AFTER THE CONTACT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V240000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING. AN INTERNET SEARCH OF THE PROBLEM REVEALS IT IS A DEFECT THAT IS AFFECTING MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE.
ALL OF SUDDEN MY DASH ON PASSAGER SIDE, OVER AIR BAG SHOW A CRACK, AND AS THE TIME WENT BY IS CRACKING EVEN MORE . I JUST WENT TO CHEVROLET YESTERDAY,TO SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE , AND THE FIRST THING I HEARD WAS THAT WAS VERY COMMOM ,BUT SINCE I'M OUT OF WARRANTY, THAT SHOULD COST AROUND $ 1300 TO BE REPLACED. SINCE IS COMMON ,AND I WAS LOOKING ON LINE , THEY SHOULD REPLACE AT THEIR COST NOT OURS.
STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION AND MY SUNROOF UNEXPLAINABLE EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO MISSILES,OBJECTS OR DEBRIS THAT CAUSED THE SUNROOF TO SHATTER. IT WAS EXTREMELY LOUD AND THE SUNROOF SHATTERED AND HELD TOGETHER BY THE FILM. *TR

UNEXPLAINED CRACKING IN THE DASH NEAR AND AROUND THE AIRBAGS.
DROVE CAR ACROSS TOWN (2 MILES @ 25 MPH); PARKED CAR FOR 15 SECONDS. CAR STARTED TO SMOKE IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. GOT OUT, POPPED HOOD AND ENGINE ALREADY ON FIRE. CALLED 911, FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED WITHIN 10 MINUTES. CAR TOWED. CAR TOTALED BY INSURANCE COMPANY. GM CONTACTED, LOOKED AT PICTURES OF BURNT ENGINE WE EMAILED TO THEM, GM WILL NOT PHYSICALLY INSPECT VEHICLE, BUT TOLD US THE TAHOE WAS TOO BURNT UP TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF FIRE. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG HAS A BIG CRACK IN THE DASH RIGHT ABOVE THE AIR BAG. THIS CONCERNS ME AS I HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND AM SCARED THAT THIS MAY DEPLOY WHILE ONE OF THEM IS IN THE FRONT SEAT. I SEE THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE. I ALSO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE ASB LIGHT AND STABILITRAK LIGHTS WHERE THEY ARE BOTH ON IN THE DRIVER DISPLAY DASH. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE THEY WILL RESET, BUT THEN IN A DAY OR SO THESE ERROR MESSAGES COME BACK ON. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE AS WELL. PLEASE GM DO A RECALL ON THESE ISSUES!!
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BADLY AROUND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PASSANGER SIDE AIRBAG DOOR ON TOP OF DASH. MY CAR HAS HAD 2 DIFFERENT DASHBOARD AND THEY HAVE BOTH CRACKED IN THE EXACT SME SPOTS. BOTH DASHBOARDS CRACKED OVERNIGHT WILL SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA.

DRIVER SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE PULLED OFF AS I WAS OPENING THE CAR DOOR. *TR
I WAS DRIVING IN THE SNOW GOING 5MPH AND THE TIRES BEGAN TO SPIN. THE CAR WAS IN AUTOMATIC FOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE BUT DID NOT KICK INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE SO I SLID OFF THE ROAD. I WAS OFF ROAD ON A SLIGHT INCLINE AND THE CAR WOULDNT GO INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. IT SAID SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND THE KNOB WILL TURN BUT THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE WILL NOT ACTIVATE. NOTHING HAPPENED OTHER THAN THE CAR NOT GOING TO 4 WHEEL DRIVE WHEN THE KNOB HAS BEEN TURNED. *JS
WHILE DRIVING THE TAHOE OUT OF NO WHERE THE WARNING LIGHT POPS ON SAYS NO TRACTION CONTROL AND THAT THE ENGINE IS DECREASING POWER AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF THE POWER STEERING TURNS OFF AND IT LEAVES MY WIFE IN SCAREY SITUATIONS IT IS A COMMON ISSUE AS I HAVE RESEARCHED MULTIPLE TAHOES SUBURBANS SILVERADOS OF SIMILAR YEAR HAVE THE SAME EXACT ISSUE...HOW IS THIS NOT RECALLED AND GMS RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX BEFORE PPL START LOSING THERE LIVES...THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS...I AM SELLING THIS TAHOE ASAP AND THIS WAS MY WIFES DREAM CAR..THANKS GM FOR STANDING BEHIND YOUR WORK AND TAKING CARE OR PROBLEMS YOU CREATED. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NUMEROUS SEVERE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE SERVICE TIRE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. PALM CHEVROLET (2300 SW COLLEGE RD, OCALA, FL 34471, (352) 433-1274) STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS BEYOND REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TAHOE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE, THE TIRE, THE TRACTION, AND THE REAR ACCESS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
THE COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM ROTTED OUT FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE ALMOST CAUSING A FIRE. THE FUEL TANK, FUEL PUMP MODULE, LOCK RING, FUEL LINES ALL HAD TO BE REPLACED AND HAD TO DO A FUEL SPILL CLEAN UP. LUCKILY, I CAUGHT THE FUEL SPILL BEFORE THE CADILLAC CONVERTER WARMED UP. MY MECHANIC ADVISED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH YOU BECAUSE THIS SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED AND FEELS GM SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL DUE TO A SAFETY REASONS. *TR
